  1. Words from the Author: All images and the dossier in this submission are made by myself, and I spent a lot of time and energy on this creature in general, so I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a vote on it. When I heard that The Center was getting a creature vote, I wanted to give its vast oceans a friendly and unique creature, that still had the ability to help immensely in exploring the oceans. There aren’t many turtles in Ark, and archelon could certainly fill a ‘gentle giant’ role, so I chose it. I created a oceanic creature since the ocean is an important part of The Center, but I didn’t have a great experience with it. I hope that having this liopleurodon-sized turtle would be able to convenience the lives of everyone playing on The Center greatly. The mechanics of this creature are not complicated, even easy to use, and its taming is not too expensive or complicated. Sufficient combat ability and incredible movement ability allow archelon to deal with the various unpleasant neighbors you’ll find in the ocean, and its ability to collect bio toxin and ammonite bile effectively should help players with things like making shocking tranq darts. Archelon’s base movement speed is not much slower than an ichthy, and with its special saddle (the archelon submarine saddle) equipped, it becomes the single fastest creature in the ocean, and the rider’s pov is much clearer. And even against the powerful tusoteuthis, archelon can quite easily defeat it. Overall, I think this creature could absolutely become a useful companion for survivors exploring the underwater world. If you like what you’ve seen so far, feel free to keep reading for the detailed design. I’m sure you will find it unique and interesting, and thank you in advance for your support. Basic information: Name: Archelon Marinusnavis Period: Cretaceous Temperament: Friendly Diet: Carnivorous Size: around liopleurodon sized Drops: Large amounts of raw meat and hide, small amounts of raw prime meat and keratin Base Stats: Health: 1200, +240, +5.4% Stamina: 750, +75, +10% Oxygen: N/A, +0, +0% Food: 4000, +400, +10% Weight: 1000, +20, +4% Melee Damage: 100%/175%, +5%, +1.7% Movement speed: 100%, +0%, +2% Speed values(wild): 120,240(land)/600,1800(water) Speed values (tamed): 120,360(land)/600,2400(water) Torpor: N/A Other: cannot be ridden without a saddle, 410 drag weight, can enter boss arenas Habitat: Archelon can be found on the beaches and in the oceans of The Center. Dossier text-wild: To survivors, archelon is quite friendly, usually not attacking smaller creatures including humans. Their aggression is instead saved for their attackers and prey. Archelon’s keratinous beak is like a sharpened pair of shears, allowing them to mainly prey on slippery cnidaria and ammonites. Archelon’s shell is made of its ribs, leathery skin and keratin, making it quite light, but nowhere near as solid as carbonemys’ rock-hard shell. Though, the softer armor still has its benefits, mainly, resisting the crushing pressure of the deep ocean, allowing archelon, which mainly inhabits the shallows, to enter the depths in search of more jellies and ammonites. Taming: Archelon can be tamed starting at player level 57, with two methods available. Method 1: Find a wild adult archelon and passive feed it to tame. They are not aggressive and will happily become a loyal companion if satisfied in terms of food. To tame, archelon will accept foods such as superior kibble, ammonite bile, bio toxin and the various meats. The passive taming method is easy on the resources, not needing tranqs, which is why I chose it. Notably, it is much safer to feed an archelon on land, since you would not have to deal with the various dangers of the ocean. Method 2: Find a wild baby archelon and passive feed it to tame. Baby archelon’s will not eat ammonite bile or bio toxin, and will lose health if on land, but require much less food than an adult archelon, and allows for imprinting once tamed. Dossier text-tamed: The boat-like archelon is unbelievably helpful for any survivor. The agility these giant turtles possess is simply amazing, with their gigantic flippers serving as wonderful paddles, archelon is one of the fastest swimmers in the ark’s oceans that’s also able to carry large amounts of resources with their sheer bulk. In addition, they are adept at hunting cnidaria and other soft-bodied animals, and at getting as much from their prey as possible. There for, it would be smart to utilize archelon to safely and efficiently harvest resources such as bio toxin. Saddle Information: The archelon basic saddle is unlocked at level 57. It is a standard saddle with 25 armor that allows for rider weaponry that needs hide, fiber and metal ingots to craft. The archelon submarine saddle is unlocked at level 67, and needs hide, fiber, cementing paste and metal ingots to craft, costing more than the basic saddle. When equipped, it provides the rider with infinite oxygen and rider protection by way of a sealed off chamber and has 35 base armor. The saddle is also equipped with two high-powered lights to illuminate deep water, and two powerful propellers at the rear end, increasing the archelon’s speed significantly. However, the lights and propeller need gasoline to activate. The Archelon Marinusnavis and its submarine saddle. Breeding: Archelon can be bred, laying eggs. Archelon eggs can be used to make superior kibble. Archelon eggs must be hatched on land, but baby archelon must grow up in water until adulthood, as they rapidly lose health on land. Attacks: Left click: A basic bite. 45 base damage, collects large amounts of meat, bio toxin, ammonite bile and small amounts of hide. Archelon’s keratinous beak is very sharp, meaning their combat power is actually not much weaker than creatures of similar sizes. This ability alone allows archelon to defeat enemies such as the vicious megalodon or swarms of anglers and eels. Right click: Archelon slaps with its flippers. Costs 100 points of stamina, base 35 damage. If hitting a creature smaller than an ichthy, the creature is stunned for 10 seconds. If hitting a creature between ichthy and megalodon in size, the creature is stunned for 5 seconds. Archelon’s front flippers are extremely large and extremely useful, both in movement and combat. Stunning an enemy could allow more room for error or an opportunity to flee in combat, allowing archelon to get out of sticky situations much better. 😄 C:Archelon ingests 250 bio toxin or ammonite bile from its inventory and recovers 1500 health. This ability has a 20 seconds cooldown. Acquiring such ingests would not be difficult for survivors with an archelon, and this ability would especially give the underused ammonite bile a use in healing archelon with its favoroite foods. X: Activates the submarine saddle. Archelon gains a 75% speed increase and a slightly larger turn radius. As stated before, this ability needs gasoline to activate. The advanced saddle makes the experience of using archelon even more enjoyable, specifically with more speed thanks to this mechanic in order to better explore the oceans. Spacebar: Rapidly ascend upwards in water. This ability gives archelon’s mobility a general boost, and allows the survivor to quickly get the fresh air at the surface if needed. Passive abilities: Leathery shell: Archelon’s leathery shell can protect against damage to a certain degree. Archelon has innate 25% damage resistance, and is immune to: -Tuso ink and grab -Ammonite rage -Shocks from cnidaria and electrophorus Agile flippers: Archelon’s nimble yet large flippers allow it good precise movement; while sprinting, archelon’s turn radius is much smaller, and its left click attack deals 1.2x damage. Protective instinct: When encountering a threat, archelon will instinctively fight back, especially if to protect allies. As such, if there are allied creatures not smaller than megalodon, archelon receives 25% damage bonus and 15% additional damage resistance. Invertebrate reaper: Archelon is well adapted to consuming various invertebrate creatures, dealing 2.5x damage to tusoteuthis, ammonite and cnidaria, has a 5x harvest multiplier and 75% weight reduction on ammonite bile and bio toxin, and also extends the spoil timer of those items by 15 times. I hope you could like this creature and leave a vote for it ! Thank you very much!
  2. Name: Japanese sea lion Species: Zalophus japonicus Time: 1970’s Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore Temperament: Friendly, Playful Sea lions are known by their exterior ear flaps, their long fore flippers, and a big chest and belly. They have a thick layer of short fur that covers a thick layer of blubber which keeps them warm in the sea. Wild: You will be able to spot these aquatic mammals spending there day relaxing on the ark’s beaches/coasts or swimming through the sea hunting for their desired food, they these versatile hunters can be found hunting alone or in packs, they are able to catch fish and other small marine creatures at ease. They are very playful social animals you may even see them playing with each other, you might even spot them swimming and playing with the dolphins. I have heard from other tribes that they are so friendly that they would even swim right up and try to befriend you. I also heard stories about how these creatures have been spotted saving those at sea. These sealions have adapted to be agile, not only are they able to navigate the sea at great speed just like the Ichthyosaurus, but they too can move decently on land also. Domesticated: Once you have tamed one, they become a valuable companion, there swimming abilities make them an excellent water exploration mount. They seem to be able to sense when people are in danger and are quick to notify and aid those in need. over time they create oil just like the basilo/tuso. Abilities and features these are just some of the idea’s I had imagined for some features of Zalophus. Lifeguard: this would be a sense allowing them to detect when a survivor is in low in oxygen and in danger. Breath of fresh air: Zalophus can blow bubbles which will replenish survivor’s oxygen, giving them that extra time to make it to the surface. Air/healing bubbles: a separate ability when they spin/splash about in the sea creating air bubbles with a range around Zalophus, these air bubbles could act providing air to multiple survivors/tames for a period of time within the bubble range, it could also have a healing affect within that range and only for this ability. Insulation: Since their body is made up of thick blubber with an added layer of short fur to keep them warm, I think they should be able to provide a insulation to keep survivors warmer in the cold sea Shock resistant: since they have thick blubber it could make them resistant to the shocks of eels and jellyfish. Oil supply: naturally generates oil after a period of time. agile swimmers: are incredibly fast and can navigate the sea very well. pack boost: with other sealions/Ichthyosaurus. Perform: They are able to preform a clapping animation that gives passive xp to nearby dinosaurs. Behavior: The sea lions are not aggressive until they are attacked, they are super friendly and will even approach survivors. If attacked, they can fight back by biting or with a fin/tail thump. Drops: Raw Meat Raw Prime Meat Oil Blubber Taming: Since they are so friendly and playful One must first toss them a fish to feed them and start the taming process, afterwards you must swim alongside them (either freely alongside them or mounted kind of like the Equus/diplocaulus but maybe with one had around them swimming with them) and repeat the process, until you have tamed your very own sealion. 3. Pterodaustro was a Filter feeding Pterosaur with Whale like Baleen teeth. Their diets whould have been very simular to those of the modern Flamingos. However unlike Flamingos, Pterodaustros hindfeet had webbing making them also good swimmers. Vote for Pterodaustro if you want a hybrid between Flying and Swimming Mounts! The Dossier: WILD Out of all Pterosaurs, Pterodaustro must be the strangest looking one ive met yet! Its Webbed feet and its baleen like teeth make it an exelent Swimmer and a Filter feeder. Pterodaustro often can be found near beaches searching for its prey: Trilobites and Clams. Seeing them fly above the water and diving in searching for food, i have to say is a majestic sight! DOMESTICATED While they are easy enough to tame for they dont care much for humans unless provoked but even then Pterodaustro whould rather flee than fight, their food isint as easy to come by however. While their hunger is satisfied with Chitin once tamed, they refuse them when wild. However one thing these Pterosaurs love are Pearls. With a handful of Silica pearls or Black Pearls you are sure to make a friend out of Pterodaustro quick! Pterodaustros Beaks arent very well adapted for combat however what makes up for it is its ability to harvest immense amounts of Silica and Black Pearls from Clams, Trilobites and Sea Scorpions! Pterodaustro are ecxelent for exploring areas with rivers, lakes and oceans for i have noticed that upon leaving the water they seem to be flying faster for a little while. Making traveling near water sources fast! Is leaving the safety of your dino to gather Silica pearls worrying you? Well worry not! With Pterodaustros Beak it can collect clams and their pearls for you with no danger of leaving your dinos side! 4. All art made by me! My creature is the Thoracopterus , a giant flying fish. The creature itself in real life wasn't much bigger than a modern flying fish, but this is ark, and the Rhyniognatha is a thing. It is big enough to ride, say Sarco length, and design wise if you have seen avatar 2 with the giant flying fish that they ride, it's lightly (but not entirely) inspired by them. Also, unlike literally every other creature submission, mine is not a 'giga counter but_________' it is unique and has a purpose. Abilities: - It can skim across the top of the water just like real life flying fish, tip of the tail in the water, top half out of water - You can use weaponry on it without having to enter first person mode, as long as you're not underwater - it can launch itself extremely high out of the water into a flight/ glide mix, gliding through the air but also flapping it's 'wings' occasionally to travel up - it can breathe oxygen indefinitely, but requires water every now and then to keep it hydrated, but the hydration does slowly go down, so luckily to now not have to stay near water at all times it has 8 water canteen slots on it's saddle, which fill up it's water meter when it's low, and can be manually refilled by hand, or all automatically refill upon contact with water, as well as it's water meter. - it can 'run' on land at about the speed of a parasaur, if not slower, which is uncanny because it moves on land by sort of shuffling and jumping forward, but to get airborne again it simply just does a leap into the sky and continues gliding - like the griffin, it has a divebomb/ swoop it can do while gliding, and if you dive into deep enough water from a high enough height it can stun nearby creatures - it can shoot water out of it's mouth like some species of fish, to dismount players off birds up to up to the size of an argy, stunning it if it is wild, at the cost of either being in water or using one of it's eight water pouches - it's 'wings' glow, and can produce a glowing dye that is by default white, but when mixed with any other dye becomes a glowing version of that color - immune to jellyfish/ eel shocks - counter shaded. not really an ability, just an adaptation that ocean predators often have for camouflage - like a dolphin, it can echolocate, highlighting all creatures in the area similar to the desmodus, but with further range underwater )because sound travels farther underwater) - weight reduction on raw fish meat by 75%, silica pearls by 25% all dyes by 50% hide and chitin and keratin by 50% angler gel by 25% and metal by 75% - it is not aggro'd by any sea creatures, excluding mosas and plesis So there you go. A midgame mount, good for pve & pvp, that isn't insanely overpowered, relatively fast, actually unique, so it's good for travel and would probably be used regardless of where you are in the game. Also it doesn't fit the description of 'just give _______ a tlc! This is it without any saddles This is the tek saddle (currently updating it to look closer to the new head model) Tek additional abilities: -A charged super bite attack (like shadowmane) -Legs to run mush faster on land, no longer having to lean on it's wings, now at the speed of a deinonychus -A jet to fly significantly faster in the air, and underwater -top and belly armour to take reduced damage on the top and belly, but still taking damage as normal from it's side Dossier- wild Something seems amiss with this creature. It's not just the size or the eerie uncanniness; it's the unsettling feeling that it simply shouldn't be. The anomalies are too pronounced to ignore; one could say the evidence points to genetic manipulation, but by whom and for what purpose, I cannot say. The Thoracopterus, as I've come to call it, defies conventional classification, blurring the lines between land, air, and water with an unsettling ease. This beast possesses an ability akin to that of dolphins, using echolocation to sense and locate anything within its vicinity. A sensory prowess usually reserved for marine life, yet this creature carries it with an unsettling confidence. But the strangeness does not end there. The Thoracopterus is no mere fish, for it can venture onto land and relentlessly pursue its prey. Escaping its pursuit is a futile endeavor; cliffs and parachutes offer no refuge, as it can pursue its quarry in the air with relentless determination. The creature's enigmatic intelligence adds to its eerie nature. It seems to comprehend danger, avoiding projectiles with an unsettling, almost preternatural awareness. Attempting to ward it off may prove only momentarily effective, for once it locks onto a target, it will persist until either the prey or itself meets its end. Moreover, the Thoracopterus possesses an astonishing leaping ability, scaling heights that defy reason, rendering the advantage of higher ground obsolete. Dossier- Domesticated tamed I stand astounded by the audacity of those who dare to tame such an enigmatic beast. The taming process, an underwater rodeo of sorts, is a perilous endeavor where merely holding on is a feat unto itself, given the Thoracopterus' unparalleled speed. Yet, for those intrepid souls who triumph in this endeavor, they will find themselves blessed with the ultimate traveling companion. Tamed, the Thoracopterus showcases its multifaceted nature, becoming an unparalleled asset in both PvE and PvP scenarios. A master of the aquatic realm, it navigates the waters with astonishing speed, becoming a swift and reliable underwater steed for any survivor seeking rapid aquatic exploration. But it doesn't end there. On land, the Thoracopterus runs with an almost inexplicable grace, defying expectations with its ability to move on terra firma. This incredible agility allows it to cover ground like a blur, making it an ideal choice for scouting missions and daring escapes from adversaries. The creature's flight capability elevates its prowess even further. In the face of a daunting confrontation with a formidable player and their powerful dinos, the Thoracopterus offers a unique advantage. With your weapons drawn and securely positioned on its back, you can unleash a torrent of firepower upon your foes, all while maintaining a stable third-person view. Yet, when a swift retreat becomes the need of the hour, the Thoracopterus becomes the ultimate escape artist. Its leaping ability propels it to unimaginable heights, from where it can gracefully glide away, leaving pursuers far below in awe and wonder. Adding to its mystique, this extraordinary creature produces a peculiar glowing dye, which, when mixed with any regular dye, transforms the colours into an eerie luminescence. The resulting spectacle can only be described as otherworldly, adding a touch of the fantastical to any survivor's creations. Proof it's a real extinct creature ^ How it would skim across water ^
  5. COMMON NAME: Nyctosaurus SPECIES: N. anemosilectus TIME: Late Cretaceous DIET: Piscivore TEMPERAMENT: Neutral WILD: Few creatures are more striking to behold than Nyctosaurus anemosilectus. This semiaquatic pterosaur can sometimes be found roosting atop any of the tall spires rising from this ark's multitude of tropical islands. Although normally docile unless provoked, Nyctosaurus does not like being disturbed while roosting and will attack anything that does so. This can be avoided by approaching under the cover of a ghillie suit, but be careful because it will still attack if the survivor approaches with a mount! This can make a roosting Nyctosaurus quite difficult to reach, but feeding it fish meat can earn its trust. DOMESTICATED: Nyctosaurus' saddle is a large sail fastened to its L-shaped crest and a surfboard-like platform strapped to its back, transforming the creature into some kind of living sailboard. Using its beak like a rudder and its wings to make tight drifting turns, a saddled Nyctosaurus is the most efficient means of travel across the water's surface. Although the sail, when unfurled, impedes Nyctosaurus' ability to fly, the saddle can be switched to “furled mode” where the sail is folded up against the crest. This enables the pterosaur to freely fly and dive. The crest also functions like a lightening rod, absorbing electrical shocks and rendering both mount and rider immune to attacks from the ocean's bioelectric denizens. ARTIST'S NOTES: I've been sitting on this idea for a LONG time, having actually forgotten about it after a point until something recently jogged my memory of it—just in time for this contest! It seems like most submissions to these contests are mid- to late-game tames with sometimes complicated taming methods and even more complicated abilities. For once it'd be nice to get a simple early- to mid-game tame with one or two straight-forward but incredibly fun abilities. The inspiration behind this was the debate as to whether or not the L-shaped crests of Nyctosaurus and kin supported membranes. Depictions of sailed nyctosaurs reminded me of sailboards, and that's when the bulb lit in my brain. Honestly, how cool would this be? Let's get this crazy idea into the game!
  6. Hello Survivors! My submission is the Eudibamus, a primeval Permian reptile that had the peculiarity of walking on its hind legs. However, compared to the original, the Ark variant of the Eudibamus is not a 20 cm tall lizard, It was enlarged by me a few meters for the game so that it better fits the special characteristics that I thought about for the animal! But what traits might this lizard have, that would make it a fun and unique addition to Ark? Wild The Eudibamus is relatively rare, you can find them everywhere, but always in small groups. On the other hand, the Eudibamus is easy to recognize because of its very colorful coloring, which warns other creatures that they are poisonous. This is also the reason why wild species of this genus are not attacked by other creatures without reason. Except for Seekers, who have a hatred for the Eudibamus. Eudibamus himself is also passive towards everything. But when they are attacked anyway, or are fed by a player, they shake out their venom once, and then jump to the nearest wall, and hang there until they feel safe, or are fed/attacked again. Then they do the same process again. How to tame: And speaking of feeding: the Eudibamus is a passive tame! You can tame him by feeding him pretty much everything. But watch out! You must wear gloves because of its toxic skin. Regardless of whether they are leather, metal, etc... break after feeding it once. Breeding works by default for the Eudibamus. But breeders will still be happy because the Eudibamus has a wide variety of colors that you can breed as you want! Whether from single-colored glittering blue-toned specimens, to very diverse colorful patterned ones. Domesticated Ability: charged jump I think none of us can have enough travel opportunities, right? Because of this, the Eudibamus has a chargeable jump that allows you to cover a distance very quickly, both in the distance and in the height. In addition, the animal can use its claws to hold on to walls, cliffs, large trees, etc... similar to the Tapejara. In order to jump further from there. I find this a form of locomotion that is useful and fun at the same time, and also different from the Beelzebufo and the Procoptodon. And it would probably also be good to know that the Eudibamus has a double seat on which one of your tribe members can sit behind you. Abilities: Poison But what really makes him stand out are his poison abilities, which, in addition to the interesting PvP gameplay, can also get a lot out of the new Unreal Engine. Because the Eudibamus is a highly poisonous animal, which not only can poison you if you touch it, but also has a special attack in which the lizard shakes out a lot of poison in a small radius. This attack can be used not only on the ground, but also during the jump, in the air. In this case, the Unreal Engine plays a big role in making everything look dynamic and beautiful. Eudibamus' Own Poison, Provides blindness and damage over time to enemy players and creatures when hit by the poison, or passed through poison still on the ground. But depending on which poison you feed him, the effect and variety of his poison can change for a while. However, new poisons will be added to the game as items that can be dropped with a rare chance by aberrant creatures. Here is the list of all the venom that can be dropped from the creatures and what effects the poison of Eudibamus has on them: -All aberrant semi-aquatic creatures: Decreases the damage of poisoned victims -All Armored Aberrant Herbivores: Increases Stamina drain of poisoned victims -All Aberrant Land Carnivores: Increases damage income of poisoned victims -All Mammals: Gives the poisoned victims a bleeding effect -All Aberrant Insects, Snakes, etc.: Destroys the armor of the human victims and inflicts stun on the poisoned creatures -All unarmored aberrant herbivores: Greatly reduces the carrying capacity of poisoned victims -All aberrant birds (except dodo): decreases the speed of poisoned victims -All aberrant flying reptiles: Damage and prevents the ability to jump -All Aquatic Aberrant Animals: Allows poisoned victims to breathe underwater but suffocate on land -Aberrant dodo: Makes every poisoned victim poop continuously Beside of this it can lift a big amount of weight and will have a default bite, to defend himself, when his poison is on cooldown. I also don't want to add to many abilities, because i don't want to make him OP. I think Eudibamus has the potential to be a nice and funny mid-tier addition to Aberration! And because this voting is a community voting, I would like if you could let some addition in the comments below (for example, there are a lot of small details, I didn't write about) so wildcard can be sure to create a real community creature, with the help of you comments! Assuming the Eudibamus wins This Dossier will show you a picture of this cute, colorful lizard:
  7. First and foremost, I have to give a huge thanks for Sail for helping me flesh up the concept and for creating the dossier. You’re an amazing help! (link to him will come later) The cavernous terrain of Aberration is filled with slopes and cliffs, making traversal difficult with most creatures. While some creatures have gimmicks used to handle those obstacles, the Rock Drake is the only creature who traverses the terrain with ease. Gigantohyrax is meant to represent an alternative late game travel mount to the Rock Drake, with its own gimmicks and utilities, but not as a superior alternative. This concept takes inspiration from modern hyraxes, amplifying their characteristics to create its own niche in the game, as a travel mount, but also as a support creature. As a travel mount: Though considerably larger than the real animal, the Gigantohyrax won’t be a huge creature by Ark standards, with a size somewhere between the Sabertooth and the Thylacoleo. Like rock hyraxes will have an exceptional climbing ability, capable of quickly traversing near vertical surfaces, sprint on their side and move on zip lines. It may not be able to climb upside down nor glide in the air like a Rock Drake, but it’s faster and more agile than the larger reptile. To assist in climbing, it will also have a good jump and take little-no fall damage in case of a bad step. To further aid in the travels in Aberration, the creature will have a slot in its saddle for a shoulder mount, such as a light pet. The shoulder critter will be treated like a passenger rider, protected from most outside attacks. If a light pet, the rider will also be able to activate and deactivate the light as if it was on their shoulder. Combat wise, Gigantohyrax is not your choice, with low health but decent damage. Its left click attack will be a quick and weak nibble, whose primary use will be to gather berries. The right click attack is a powerful bite using the tusks, but it’s slow, resulting in modest DPS. A common reaction against threats will be escape, and it has an additional trick up its sleeve for that: Pressing “ctrl”, the hyrax will pose a threat display with its tusks, stopping small creatures from attacking for a handful of seconds and giving a window for escape. In addition, the creature will actually benefit from radiation, getting damage resistance and stamina drain reduction as buffs, helping you survive the many threats in the most dangerous part of the underground. Utility as a support mount: Hyraxes can sing, and surprisingly perhaps, actually have complex songs with patterns. In game, Gigantohyrax will have at least two separate songs, which it can switch between at will. The first song is the “Energy” song. This song give allied creatures improved stamina recovery while reducing stamina drain. A more niche use, fit for Aberration, it that the song will also fill up the charge of light pets, allowing them to continue glowing without a break, while also increasing their range. This also applies to light pets on the saddle slot, reducing the reliance of Plant Species Z to avoid getting attacked by a thousand Nameless. The second song is the “Recovery” song. This song heals allied creatures (though considerably worse than Daeodon and Snow Owls) while giving them some damage resistance. More uniquely though, the song will also help creatures “recover” from mating, by speeding up the drain of the mating interval. For example, the cooldown will drop two or three times as fast as it normally would. There could also be a third song, but we were undecided about what it should be. We considered something related to baby maturation or imprinting, but we first need to see what Gigantoraptor brings to the table. Gigantohyrax will only be able to sing while stationary. When moving around, the song will temporarily stop singing until the hyrax stays in place once again. One great advantage about the hyrax is that it could be set to sing while unridden, allowing it to indefinitely buff creatures in its vicinity - especially useful for breeders using the Recovery song. However, while you could have many hyraxes sing the same song next to one another, a creature that will hear different songs at the same time will have their effects nullified. How to obtain? In the wild, Gigantohyrax will be found in the green and blue zones of Aberration. When noticing danger (ie an aggressive creature, a player or a tame), it will run away, going to steep terrain most creatures will be unable to follow it to. However, if a small-medium actually hits one while other hyraxes are around, the escape will turn to attack. The threat will be ganged up by many pairs of tusks, giving a painful lesson to the attacker. However, a player will be able to pacify the creatures by playing drums. When playing the instrument, a hyrax will approach and play a note. The player must play the drums accordingly. If they succeed, the hyrax will allow for a feed before retreating again. Rinse and repeat until taming. To keep Gigantohyrax as a late game tame, it will only accept Extraordinary Kibble as taming food. This is to require players to get Rock Drake eggs beforehand, preventing the cheesing of the trench using the creature before a player gets a Drake themselves.

Table Of Contents Dossier Introducing Rhizodus Real-world Animal Design & Ability Inspiration Abilities & Attributes Basics/Stats Land Movement & Moisture Stat Water Storage & Projectile Attacks Lunge Attack Slope-based Sliding Momentum Rhizodus Roe Taming Controls Bonus Artwork Dossier Rhizodus Species: Rhizodus giarpeton Time: Early Carboniferous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Patient WILD As if the highly-competed-for freshwater bodies of Aberration weren’t dangerous enough, Rhizodus giarpeton surely caught me off guard while observing the fertile regions’s rivers, as it lunged toward prey with deadly velocity. This gargantuan freshwater fish may be one of the last creatures one would expect to find in these lands devoid of a large water body, but Rhizodus is equipped with more than enough tools to thrive in its shallow rivers. If you or your tames happen to get splashed with water from seemingly nowhere, I recommend you steer clear of any nearby water bodies, as it may be a Rhizodus attempting to lure you towards it or deter you from its territory. These creatures can fire water from its mouth with varying power for both hunting and self defense. If you ever happen to be ambushed by a Rhizodus, your best bet is to fight it off. Those who’ve thought simply retreating to land would save them may not have not been so lucky… DOMESTICATED Don't let the appearance of this creature fool you. Despite being a fish, a tamed Rhizodus is more than capable of providing use as a tame despite the lack of large water bodies present on Aberration. Capable of remaining on land for extended periods of time, Rhizodus makes for a unique and flashy travel mount, as it slides across land at surprising speeds, especially downhill. Its ability to store and shoot water can distract, attack, and intimidate wild and tamed aggressors alike. Introducing Rhizodus Real-world Animal Rhizodus was a giant predatory lobe-finned fish that lived during the Early Carboniferous period. Rhizodus was the world's largest freshwater fish, with size estimates reaching up to 5.6 meters (18'6ft) long, similar in size to a Great White Shark. Rhizodus reconstruction by Mario Lanzas Design & Ability Inspiration Rhizodus's design takes inspiration from Mudskippers (Pectoral Fin and Dorsal Fin) and Catfish (Whiskers) Rhizodus's water projectile attacks take inspiration from Archerfish Rhizodus's Amphibious traits take inspiration from Mudskippers and Lungfish Abilities & Attributes Basics/Stats Tamable Rideable Breedable 😳 Passively Tamed Rhizodus Saddle - Lvl 53 engram, has 1 passenger seat Rider Weaponry Enabled Drops Raw Fish Meat, Prime Fish Meat, Hide, Keratin Health: 600 Stamina: 350 Oxygen: Infinite Moisture: 1500 Weight: 550 Melee: 38 (at 100%) Drag Weight: 250 Land Movement & Moisture Stat Rhizodus would be the first fish capable of going on land, without dying instantly (cough cough Manta), using a unique moisture stat to stay alive on land. This moisture stat acts like the Oxygen stat, but instead depletes when Rhizodus is not touching water. Rhizodus does not need to be fully submerged to replenish Moisture, but it will replenish faster if Rhizodus is fully submerged. Moisture can also replenish by giving Rhizodus water-storing items (Water Jar, Canteen, etc). Water Storage & Projectile Attacks Rhizodus can store water to utilize for projectile attacks both underwater and on land. How much water Rhizodus can store is dependent on its weight stat, but stored water will not weigh Rhizodus down. Rhizodus has 3 water projectile attacks: Distraction Shot - Deals no damage. Used to aggro creatures from a distance, and even works on passive or skittish creatures. Less aggressive creatures will require you to shoot them more. Uses a small amount of water. Pressurized Shot - High speed shot that deals moderate damage and scales with the Melee stat. Disables cloaking, climbing, and flying on the target for a small time period. Uses a moderate amount of water. Water Vomit - A last-resort survival tool. Scares away enemies and replenishes moisture for all nearby Rhizodus. Uses a large amount of water. A setting to automatically Water Vomit with the available water and nearby targets when under 10% health can be enabled through the radial menu. Lunge Attack If Rhizodus is submerged in water, it can charge up a powerful Lunge attack. Hold the Lunge attack input to charge up, then let go for a massive speed boost that deals heavy damage to the target. This can also send Rhizodus flying out of the water, which may come in hand when traveling vertically. Slope-based Sliding Momentum Similar to a Maewing, Rhizodus will slide down hills much faster than its standard slide speed. The steeper the slope, the faster you go. With the right travel routes, Rhizodus can make for an excellent fast-travel mount using this mechanic. Rhizodus Roe Rhizodus Roe (eggs) are sought after by creatures and survivors alike for their taste and nutritional effects. Rhizodus Roe can be obtained from wild female Rhizodus by knocking them out. You can also leave a female Rhizodus submerged in water, and it will slowly produce the roe, carrying it in its mouth. Rhizodus Roe can be used as a kibble alternative for piscivores, but is also a viable egg for making Extraordinary Kibble. Taming To tame Rhizodus, place its preferred foods in the inventory of you or a creature. Sacrifice them to a Rhizodus. It will slowly eat the food overtime while leaving any other items behind. Simple and straightforward, solidifying Rhizodus's role as a mid-game all rounder mount. 9. Introducing Glaucus atlanticus also known as the blue sea dragon. First, I understand its size and abilities differ from that of its real-life counterpart. Wild: Slug by name but not by nature. Its powerful spines propel it through the water faster than any creature in the sea. Its brightly coloured body servers as warning to even the most fierce of sea monsters. This Megalodon size critter posses a string so deadly not even the might Tusoteuthis dare challenge it. Covered in a slim it is immune to grab attacks and stuns of eels and jellyfish. It produces a toxin so powerful it can comatose the biggest and baddest of the seas. Domesticated: Survivors are able to charm this creature using a concoction of toxins from arks deadliest creatures. Its superior speed and ability to travel unhindered in arks oceans makes it the ideal travel companion. Its sling makes it a formidable combatant and its passively produced toxins serve as a powerful narcotic. Its enclosed saddle servers as both protection and source of oxygen to seep sea explorers. Taming: To tame this creature, you will need combine all the toxins, venoms, and poisons of creatures in Ark to make a gloop which can be passively fed if you can get close enough! Its best to wait until the creature comes to a rest on the sea floor before approaching. Abilities: Faster than the plesio, mosa and squid whilst being immune to all grab, stun or dismount attacks makes it the ideal underwater travel mount. Whilst it does not attract aggressive from any sea creatures any foolish enough to attack will be meet with reflective damage from its toxic skin able to apply a stun to smaller creatures. Its saddle is styled much like the starwing saddle but instead of shooting lasers it channels the creatures string into a barb like attack which either applies massive torpor with cooldown or smaller needle like barb attack with a bleed damage. It can traverse land by rearing up its spines much like a seal on its flippers being able to use its barb attacks on land creatures however it lacks any speed and if its skin gets too dry will begin to take damage and eventfully die. This creature produces a toxin passively in its inventory which powers its torpor attack or can be combined with narcotics to double the effects however once spoiled makes it totally unusable.
