  1. In the forests and plains of The Center resides an extraordinary and fascinating creature known as a Tenrec. With its striking appearance and unique abilities, this wall of thorns makes a formidable guardian and loyal companion in underground adventures. The Tenrec is a medium-sized creature with a muscular body covered in tough, scaly skin. What stands out are the sharp spikes that cover its backbone, providing a formidable defense against possible threats. He stands as a trusted guide on your incredible journey through the Ark. For those looking for a reliable companion, the Tenrac is the perfect choice. Size estimate: Appearance (AI-generated art, sorry, I can't draw) : Domestication Method: Passive Once the survivors obtain the food capable of taming Tenrec (fruits and vegetables) they can peacefully approach and offer the food. Upon sensing the presence of food, Tenrec will lower its guard in order to "disable" its spikes in an offensive way. During this period, survivors can take the opportunity to gently stroke their skin without taking damage. As survivors continue to feed and pet the Tenrec on a regular basis, the taming level will gradually increase. Active Skills: Ability 1 - Basic Attack: Tenrec alternates between his claws and bites when attacking opponents Ability 2 - Sonic Detection: Tenrec's spikes have the ability to vibrate and detect subtle sound waves in the environment. This allows him to identify surrounding threats or even camouflaged creatures, giving survivors a tactical advantage when exploring. Skill 3 - Seismic Hammer: The Tenrec can unleash a powerful shockwave by slamming the ground hard, causing a seismic tremor that affects enemy creatures in an area around it. Causes a slow to affected enemies, significantly lowering their movement speed for a short period of time. Requires a relatively long reload time Ability 4 - Defense Stance: The Tenrec adopts a defensive stance, crouching low. Activating the skill decreases your movement speed, but gains resistance against attacks that can stun or throw you and a slight extra resistance. Passive Skills: Toxin Resistance: It has a natural resistance to poisons and toxins. Natural protection: Contains a tough skin that provides an additional layer of protection against damage. It can soak up all damage before its spiked carapace weakens so it can take damage, offering survivors protection during battles or encounters with hostile creatures. Survival of the carapace is determined according to the total hp of the creature (20%) The cooldown for the recovery of this carapace/armor is low (30s) however, Tenrec cannot suffer any type of damage in the meantime, if it suffers the timer starts from 0 again. Weight reduction: The Tenrec can be utilized to carry additional items, acting as a "backpacker" for survivors. It has the ability to carry a high amount of collected resources as all items will have their weight reduced, allowing players to carry more items without overloading themselves. Damage Retribution: Lastly, it has a passive ability that allows it to automatically reciprocate part of the physical damage taken by attacks from enemy creatures. Note: Thanks to everyone who read this article about Tenrac. I'm happy to share this idea I had. I am open to any suggestions and opinions. I don't speak English so some sentences may have been slightly confusing Again it is worth mentioning that all "concept arts" were made by i.a Animal based (Hemicentetes semispinosus) :
  2. The Apatosaurus, the new and not useless diplodocus. This large sauropod would live in the green and lush parts of the forest. These creatures aren’t necessarily gentle giants, if a human gets within punching distance they will attack, but will pay to mind to other creatures. When it comes to taming things get tricky, you will have to literally jump onto it’s back (like find a high place, jump off and land on its back) then you will feed it narcoberrys narcotics, or biotoxin till it is asleep. After that it’s just a standard unconscious tame. After taming it you will need to make a saddle, of which you have 3 to choose from; the Standard saddle, the platform saddle or the war platform saddle. The war platform saddle is armored, making it take less damage from all turrets. On the subject of turrets you can add a turret in into the saddle by dragging it in your inventory, at that point your saddle will have a built in turret. Aside from being a war machine on legs the Apatosaurus has some remarkable abilities. It practically never gets tired so that makes it a good Dino to move large amounts of weight around the map, aiding this is its ability to raise its head high in the air while walking through water, making rivers and lakes a piece of cake to cross. As for attacks it can stand up on its hind legs to crush the spine of any unfortunate enemy. It can also stomp with each of its legs so you will be covered from all angles. Its tail whip is also nothing to be scoffed at, it’s high speeds can knock riders of their mounts, and deal knock back and torpor. They can also sweep up dust with their tail, and when it enters the dust cloud it gains a massive speed boost to run away, similar to the tuoso. This is my idea for the The Center's new creature, thanks for reading. At the time of writing this no one has submitted the same creature Image was found on the internet No I don't know why the text is highlighted in white
  3. Ark has a lot of creatures, but how many aquatic mammals do we have? Next to none. That's why I submit the Sea Cow. While it can be found on land, it mostly resides off the coast of the Center's snowy areas. Provide it insulating blubber to make it tanky and provide insulation from the cold. While it can go on land, it becomes slow, but why take it on land you wonder? I think, since some of ark's creatures have gone for more extreme saddles and abilities, give it some sort of cannon to mount onto the saddle, capable of being used on land and in water. My first thoughts were to give it some sort of arrow gattling gun, but then I had an idea. Make it an electric cannon, powered by bio toxin, whch in my opinion needs more uses in this game, cause every time I go to tame something, I will use tranq darts because they are cheaper and don't spoil. It will most definitely be faster in the water as well, the saddle providing the rider with oxygen. With the Andrewsarchus providing ark with a land based tank, and the Rhino essentially being a fighter copter, providing the Center with a sea based tank would be an amazing idea. Common Name: Sea Cow Species: Hydrodamalis gigas Time: Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Defensive Domesticated While slow on land, the Sea Cow is faster in the water, letting it easily contend with some of the bigger ocean mounts, but the most unique feature is its ability to be immune from most creature inflictions. This makes it a perfect creature to harvest Bio Toxin, or at least without being shocked by the Jellyfish. To accommodate for its slowness, however, survivors have gone through advanced methods to attach an electric tesla cannon to the saddle, along with air tanks to assist with Spelunking. With the skill of harvesting bio toxin, survivors have used it as the primary source of ammunition of this cannon. This cannon can primarily be used to stun creatures for a short time, both in and out of the water. From what I’ve heard, this creature is a definite favorite for the two Ice Caves on the center Wild Native to the colder coast of the island, the Sea Cow is a territorial beast, known for lazily resting on both the beach and the shallow water. While it will defend itself from smaller threats, if it encounters something bigger than it, the Sea Cow will flee at a slow pace. Depending on where it is damaged by larger foes, it will try to escape to the opposite territory. It’s thick blubber helps with some of these situations, preventing it from bleeding or being caught on fire. Something survivors have come accustomed to is to run towards the Sea Cow, since it provides insulation, similar to a Basilosaurus. As long as they don’t attack it, it is quite a peaceful creature. Please note I intended to do a dossier, but I couldn't upload it. Do excuse this sloppyness
  4. All credit of the original idea goes to the op. Here we go 😁 let get this bug back to the leader board! The Bastion Beetle would be a great fit for any of the heavily forested maps. Especially the center! Here's my idea of how it would fit into the ecosystem of ark. Imagine you're walking through the red woods and you stumble across a colony of these impressive creatures. Imagine the light reflecting off their iridescent shell as they march through the trees. You are pleasantly surprised that these massive bugs are quite docile until they spot they preferred prey. You stand there mesmerized when suddenly an all too familiar hiss snaps you to your senses. A Pegomastax suddenly jumps from the bushes straight for you but before you can even react one of Beetles nearest to you lunges forward, snatching the pego right out of the air into its crushing jaws! Like ladybugs are to aphids, these Beetles voraciously hunt down the smallest of prey, happily snacking on all the arks most obnoxious critters. Even partaking in a ichthy here and there. You take a breath as you watch the Beetles continue their march through the trees, thankful you're to large for their liking. I give credit to the op for the idea if the sexual dimorphism. And definitely think its a great idea that the male and female would have different saddle for different tasks. I also think having the larval form has a shoulder pet that gives bug repellent is very useful! Ultimately I know it's up to the devs how a creature is implemented into the game. But how ever it's done the behemoth bug would be a great addition to the lineup!
  5. Species: Hadrokirus Hydrostus Time: Late Miocene Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore Temperament: Relaxed/Predatory Any art or dossiers are welcomed. Hadrokirus should be a mid to late game tame. I think I’d be cool for it to spawn in a variety of locations. The Center is a watery map that has a lot of beach and artic places, feels like it just fits a seal. WILD Hearing barking or bellowing out on the glaciers or beaches of The Center is not uncommon, you’re around a pod of Hadrokirus. These giant seals rule the beaches and the coasts of the arctic. They can be seen in pods of 1 male and 4 females with babies scattered about. They are lumbering, a sight to behold with the males being the largest of the pod. They spend their time on land lounging, sleeping, and playing, even picking the player up before dropping them. But Hadrokirus must eat a lot to sustain their body fat. So, when entering the water, Hadrokirus becomes a super predator, attacking and eating anything within there, including humans. When encountering a pod of hunting Hadrokirus, one will go to the surface and let out a bellow that can be heard for miles, aggroing all Hadrokirus in the pod. They’ll rip you apart and pick you up (not playfully) and drown you. If the prey puts up more of a fight, the Hadrokirus will use its STEAM BREATH that melts flesh and boils whatever it’s attacking. TAMING Hadrokirus are docile on land but aggressive in water. One might think to feed it on land, but Hadrokirus isn’t hungry when on land and way too aggressive to hand feed in water. Tranqs don’t work as its blubber is too tough, however, you can use its playful and predatory behavior against it. Putting tamed Kairuku on passive flee will excite Hadrokirus as they love the chase and taste of Kairuku. Chasing, attacking and eating the Kairuku will slowly fill its taming, so you’ll need a lot of penguins. The longer the Kairuku lasts, the more taming you’ll get, so high heath Kairuku are essential. THE STEAM MACHINE Hadrokirus utilizes steam in its hunting and intimidation. Once tamed, the STEAM BREATH is a devastating weapon while also offering utility. Steam uses water, Hadrokirus must drink water to fill its bar, or you can manually give it water through water skins, jars, and canteens. The steam does a lot of damage, burning everything in front of it, and the steam can even damage the rider (if the saddle protects the player like the Andrewsarchus or Magmasaur, you’ll be fine). The steam will linger for 8 seconds and will do even more damage underwater, this takes a lot of water and stamina. STEAM ENGINE SADDLE Hadrokirus has a special saddle that acts as a fabricator but is much more expensive. Those willing to spend will be granted with a fully working steam engine that can convert water into power. Having the Hadrokirus saddle on and near electronics will power them like a generator. The water drains much slower than a generator and has much greater range. It even protects the player from the cold but not the heat. CORPSE DEBUFF When a Hadrokirus dies its body take days to weeks to decompose, and far away carnivores will sense it and make their way towards it. This might make a Hadrokirus corpse look like a hazard, but when a carnivore feeds, due to the fat, blubber, and nutrient rich meat, the carnivore will become full and turn neutral. This is Hadrokirus’ satisfaction debuff. To Rex, to Spino, to Allo, to Raptor, almost every wild carnivore will become neutral and not attack you (you can use this to trap\tame carnivores easier). If a human consumes the meat, they will gain increased health regen, weight, and fortitude. UTILITY AND COMBAT Hadrokirus are experts in digesting fish and Kairuku. Able to consume meat, bones, and skin while deposing of unwanted waste, like black pearls and blueprints. Kairuku = a small amount of black pearls. Fish = a chance of getting blueprints. Hadrokirus have decent carry weight and water speed, but horrible land speed. They are tough with thick blubber to resist bullets and bites, immune to any ice attack, and cannot be frozen. Their blubber gives insulation to everything in the area. Hadrokirus gain an excitement buff from killing penguins. The buff increases its organic polymer penguin harvesting, land speed, damage, and stamina by 30% while increasing the STEAM BREATH damage by 10%. Buff lasts for 2 minutes. ABILITIES · First button’s a basic bite that does good damage and does great damage to Kairuku. Holding the button down will pick up the target with a drag weight of 125 and lower (the titans have weirdly low drag weights so just ignore stuff like that). · Second button’s STEAM BREATH with high damage that hits through mounts and lingers, dealing more damage underwater. Any creature that takes no or reduced damage from fire takes no damage from this. · Third button’s a loud bellow that stuns small creatures and humans for 5 seconds. Larger creatures get their attack speed cut in half. It’s even louder and travels farther in the water. It’s on a 5-minute cool down but in between, Hadrokirus does an emote seal clap, *arf arf’s* and all. · Jump button’s a belly flop, dealing huge damage and knock back. VOTE FOR THE MEGA SEAL The sight of a pod of giant seals swimming across your starter base would be amazing, especially with the baby seals around. Here are some extra ideas I had but I’m unsure about and please give suggestions. · Being around the STEAM saddle will boost the speed of mechanical saddle users like Magmasaur, Andrewsarchus, Roll rat, and maybe Tek saddles. · The saddle can STEAM and boil food like an industrial cooker.
  6. Species: Hippocampus Sarmaticus/Leviathan Time: Middle Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Here’s another attempt. I think The Center is a perfect map for this tame. The vast ocean, the underworld, all the air bubbles. I feel Ark's oceans need a bit of love. What better way than with a new mount. Seahorses are pretty cool looking as well as sea dragons, and who wouldn't want to ride around on one. A saddled mount of course They're like master ninjas, so this mount could have some sort of camo ability, maybe when they're within underwater vegetation. They could function similar to an underwater purlovia, and their first strike from being hidden could cause massive burst damage. Kinda like sneak damage. Because of this sneakyness, make all wild creatures non aggressive to it unless provoked. This includes the jellies. In fact, let's make this creature immune to jellies shock to have another mount to fight against them. Maybe even have cnidaria actively run away from them like the piranha does to the sarco. These could be the best biotoxin gatherers. (A sea slug pic, but the patterns and appendages look cool, and I invision this ark creature taking visual cues from it) Seahorses also are very tanky with their bone like ridges down their body. Instead of their body and tails being cylindrical, they're more square, thus able to take more damage and even be compressed and be able to bounce back unharmed. This means the ark creature could make for a very tanky mount with possibly even recoil damage. Add a good saddle for even more tanking. Seahorses also have great mobility, so it can control similar to an underwater Tapejara. This is a very interesting video below about Seahorses. Utility is a big thing the ocean needs too. With the males pouch, it could function as an underwater maewing, able to nurse or improve imprints. Maybe a player can use its pouch to be transported underwater and give oxygen. Again, immunity to jelly stings. They have these cool prehensile tails too. They can use this to latch onto different things underwater to stay put, and enter a sort of turret mode. We can use these prehensile tails to grab small to some medium sized creatures, which has a multitude of uses, but also make it able to pick players underwater from their mounts. To balance this, make it ridden only or something. These tails could have another purpose too. There aren't any underwater shoulder pets. Until they're grown, while they're still a baby/adolescent, they can use the tail to become a shoulder mount. Adding stun immunity or reduction, or adding armor and recoil damage to the player while assisting in battle with their attack/breath. The balance to this would be that it's temporary, until the baby reaches a certain size, then it auto dismounts. Killing cnidaria could make it grow faster, or feeding it biotoxin. It would speed up raising. You could ignore this mechanic to keep it smaller for longer to keep the shoulder benefits, because it's raise time could be long without using it. With all these positives, maybe give the creature lower stamina, or make it opposite of the bear. Super fast burst speed that eventually slows down. Same with dps. Stupid high burst speed dps, that slows a lot over time. The way I imagine it looking is some kind of Seahorse/Seadragon hybrid with some draconian features. This is ark afterall, and some dinos aren't 100% real world accurate, so we can spice this up a bit. https://www.google.com/search?q=sea+dragon&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj_ttH9nMj8AhWTFmIAHQ8kBcAQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=sea+dragon&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzIECCMQJzIKCAAQgAQQsQMQDTIECAAQQzIECAAQQzIECAAQQzoFCAAQgAQ6BAgAEAM6CAgAEIAEELEDOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToHCAAQsQMQQ1CBCFjmJGC-KWgAcAB4AIABe4gBgAuSAQM2LjiYAQCgAQHAAQE&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=WzzDY7-dA5OtiLMPj8iUgAw&bih=647&biw=412&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc#imgrc=t00DU5k3vLyQlM&imgdii=w_wkJPB5AToXmM Another cool option would be some kind of underwater breath attack. Bubbles that stun or slow so they can assassinate prey, or superheated water jet, but I'd like for them to have some sort of poison breath. It would go with the assassin theme. This poison would accumulate in its inventory similar to acatina, maybe increasing production for a time with cnidaria kills stacking. We could coat our weapons or even dino claws with the poison to give special debuffs and inreased damage per hit for a time. This would benefit high attack speed dinos a lot like the raptor, giving more use for its faster attack buff from its alpha call. I hope you all like and upvote.
  7. All Art commissioned from RiskyBiscuits. Dossier by Me Wild A relative to the Ankylosaur, Euoplocephalus Micarebang has adapted to the caves of this ARK. Euoplocephalus emits large amounts of light much like the bulbdog and other light pets but unlike them, Euoplocephalous does not seem to lose light allowing it to forage in the bioluminescent biome without the worry of nameless. Most predators avoid hunting Euoplocephalus due to its large size and emit a light so blinding it stuns everything in its vicinity before it finishes its attackers or makes an easy escape to find Z Fruit to recharge its strength. Domesticated Once Tamed, Euoplocephalus is a great travel companion for traveling due to its size, carry weight and strong armor knocking back opponents attacks or swinging its massive sized club tail. Survivors even utilize the light from its body emitting the light from its body like a flashbang grenade to blind opponents or shoot lits light filled spikes from its body in its surround area to cause light sources that stay for a period of time causing light debuffs to nameless and even Reapers!! It also has an affinity for carrying the various colored gems of this ARK with ease. Abilities: Passives: Damage Reduction, Recoil Damage, Emits a weaker version of charge light that does not lose charge, keeps nameless at bay and weakens the armor of reapers albeit not as armor reducing as the Glowpets Attacks: Left Click - Crippling Tail: Swing its mighty Tail to Cripple opponents preventing them from sprinting or jumping. Also gathers Crystal & Colored Gems more efficiently. Right Click - Bite: Bite that gathers berries C - Spike Launch: Launch the spikes from its body in a surrounding area that to dmg when they hit the ground and apply a weaker version of charge light on the ground. Loses dmg reduction and recoil for a period of time. These spikes cannot be destroyed unlike Amarga Spikes. X - Flashbang: Send light to the tail and slam it on the ground emitting intense light that blinds and stuns opponents for a period of time. Emits weaker version of chargelight but can be powered up if the rider has a glow pet on their shoulders Spacebar - Crystal Armor: Cover Euo and the rider in Crystal that while really slows down Euo and prevents sprinting, increases Damage Reduction and Recoil Damage to insane numbers at the cost of Stamina. Taking Damage too quickly will break the armor Look when Crystal Armor is Active Saddle: Lv. 60 Taming: Force it to use Flashbang, which will exhaust it allowing you to run up and feed it Z Fruits Pros: Tanky with Recoil, Apex Herbivore with dmg similar to Rex, Flashbang Ability Cons: Chargelight effects weaker than Glowpets, slow, Despite able to debuff reapers, Euo cannot kill one without assistance
  8. Name: Calvapilosa kroegeri Common name: Calvapilosa Time: Ordovician Temperament: Neutral Diet: Carnivore Calvapilosa lives kn the radioactive rivers of Aberration, this has caused it body to become completely acidic. Neutral in character, it will not consciously attack anything unless threatened, but if an unwary person passes near it they will fall victim to its corrosive acids. When it is hungry, it wraps its prey in its body, dissolving them and absorbing its nutrients, it prefers irradiated meat and despises normal food, this information will serve for its subsequent domestication. Tame: Calvapilosa can only be tamed when it is hungry, this is easy to know since it will extend its four large antennae and begin to look for prey, at this moment you must grab a corpse and submerge it in a radioactive river, you must keep the body there until it turns a characteristic color red, (this process may take longer depending on the size of the corpse but this will also influence the effectiveness), then take it to the slug and it will begin to eat it slowly, its feeding process causes it to lose fluids and if it loses too many, calvapilosa will leave to eat to go to a radioactive river to hydrate, do not let this happen or you will lose taming effectiveness, at this moment you must go to the trail that the slug has left and collect that acid to sprinkle it on its body, you must do this as quickly as possible possible since you will be damaged by coming into direct contact with the acid and there is nothing you can do to avoid it (recommended to bring many medicinal drinks). At 80% taming, calvapilosa will inevitably head to a river, don't worry, this is normal, once in the river, baldhead will release acid which will make the water completely corrosive and there is nothing you can do to avoid this damage, you must stay in the water all the time so that calvapilosa associates you with food and wants to stay with you, at this point I can only recommend a huge amount of potions, a daeodon, tek gun or chitin armor that will better protect you against acid but not for much longer. Tamed: Once calvapilosa has been tamed you will not need any mount, this slug can control its acid at will and you can enter its body if it affects you which in turn produces a corrosive natural armor for you. Skills: - Obviously his slug body allows him to climb any surface. - His acidic body gives him great resistance to bullets. - In addition to the above, it is completely immune to the net projectile which is capable of easily melting. - Any creature that attacks it will take corrosive damage. - Great swimmer, the survivor inside it will not need to come to the surface to breathe, calvapilosa provides it with the necessary oxygen. - The survivor inside is completely immune to radiation regardless of what armor they are wearing. - Calvapilosa hydration bar increases when you enter the water. - Calvapilosa radiation bar increases when you are in a radioactive zone. - If it is irradiated, it will produce acid slime over time, this slime can be used to charge the tek suit or as ammunition in some tek weapons. Attacks: - Frontal bite which releases acid, quickly corrodes any type of armor and does damage to metal structures. - When it is hydrated, it can give off a trail of slime that will slow down any creature or survivor that passes over it, in addition, it is irradiated, this trail of slime will deal damage to any creature. -If it is hydrated and irradiated, it will be able to shoot a powerful jet of acid that will deal damage, slow down and leave a radioactive effect on the target. - Ocular antennae, you can see at great distances as if it were a spyglass. - If you are fully hydrated and irradiated, you can explode your entire body by throwing acid bombs in all directions. - If it is hydrated, it will be able to launch a cord of slime that can drag small creatures or survivors, the most effective way to get rid of this cord is with fire, a torch is recommended.
  9. Pholidocercus was an ancestor of modern hedgehogs that lived in the mid-Eocene. Its diet was based solely on insects although, like other non-carnivorous animals, it did not rule out feeding on dead animals as an additional source of protein. Normally its attitude was passive but it did not hesitate to attack invaders to defend its territory. It was covered with spines which it used defensively and had a "helmet" and tail reinforced with scales. In-game features SPAWN AREA This creature would inhabit most of the Fertile Region and isolated places in the Bio-Luiminiscent Region, with a rarer occurrence. We have chosen these areas because they are the places where there are more insects, something vital for the survival of this animal. They are also relatively similar to the places where Pholidocercus lived in the past. GENERAL ASPECTS It is a creature whose strong point is the amount of life it has, accompanied by a decent carrying capacity and normal stamina. The spines that cover a large part of its body have a mainly defensive purpose, capable of causing great damage to enemies. He also has a very resistant helmet with which, with the help of his speed, he can raze resistant materials. The four-legged Pholidocercus has a size similar to that of a Roll Rat, while its two-legged height would be like that of a Megatherium. By looting the corpse of these creatures or simply picking them up from the ground when they are expelled by it, you will get Pholidocercus Thorns, which combined with arrows you will get piercing arrows, almost instant arrows with a slightly higher damage than a normal one. WILD In the wild, it will attack any small creature (especially insects) that gets too close to it. If the Pholidocercus has killed an insect, it will get the "Toxic Rush" upgrade, which allows it to be faster, reduce more damage and make its spines poisonous, which inflicts corrosive damage. The effects will last for 1 minute in the wild. Those who try to hit him melee will suffer damage from his spines. They will also be affected by the poison if the Pholidocercus is under the effects of "Toxic Rush". When threatened by a larger animal, the hedgehog will defend itself on two legs, but when severely injured, it will throw slowing spines in all directions and then flee. If the player carries a piece of the chitin set, this creature will detect you at a great distance and will adopt a very aggressive temperament, making you its target. TAME To tame it, you will need to place a large amount of chitin in the last slot of the hot bar, put on a full chitin suit and get close enough to the Pholidocercus for it to detect you. When it sees the player, it will run towards it in a stampede. You'll have to dodge it so that it crashes into a vertical surface, leaving it stunned for a few seconds, seconds you'll have to take advantage of to get on its neck and ride it (by pressing E), but its spines will cause you light constant damage, so you'd better be quick. The animal will try to throw the survivor off, shaking violently (similar to an Equus). As it does so, a bar will appear above the player's hot bar where you will have to play a precision game of feeding the animal with chitin (10 at a time), three to six times in a row (depending on the level) to bring up the taming. If you fail the game, you can try as many times as you want, but each time you fail, the taming efficiency will decrease. If you hit the required number of times in a row, the creature will throw you off and you will have to repeat the whole process as many times as necessary, depending on the level. DOMESTICATED Once domesticated, the Pholidocercus will have a wide repertoire of abilities. The animal has two modes, four-legged or upright (like an Iguanodon or Spino). In the first form, the animal will have a damage reduction due to its spine armor, and the damage received in this form will charge a bar divided into four segments: The more the first segment is completed, the faster the animal will go, but when it is completely filled, the speed will be constant. If the second one is completed, the animal will be able to break stone structures down when making a charge. If the third segment is completed, by charging an animal or a player on an animal, they will be stunned along with considerable damage. By completing the fourth and final segment, the Pholidocercus will be able to break metal structures. If you charge at something, the completed bar will not be lost, but there will be a cooldown time when you can neither break structures with the headbutt nor knock someone out. However, if you don't take damage for a long time, it will be reset. With this, the animal could tank a large amount of damage in raids, such as projectiles from the turrets and also break through the base barriers. These are the controls of the skills while on all fours: -With the left click, the creature will hit with its helmet, but with little damage. However, if you hold the click, it will prepare to start the aforementioned charge (like a Trike) until you stop pressing it. -With the right click, it will launch spines with great range in all directions with a recharge time of 30 seconds approx. If it has consumed a mushroom brew, it will gain the effects of Toxic Rush, which will last for 10 mins. If these soups are left in the animal's inventory, you will be able to enable an option for it to eat them every 10 mins. This is useful for defending your base when you are offline. -Finally, the mount adds a shovel to the tail of the Pholidocercus, so when you press C, it will dig up a pile of dirt and you can throw it at players or creatures to blind them and slow them down. By pressing Space, the mammal will stand up on its two hind legs, being slower and more defenseless because its belly is exposed. -Once standing, its attacks with the left click will hit with its claws in a fast way. This attack will do much more damage than in its other form, and will be useful for farming materials such as wood or looting bushes. The right click will allow the player to launch a set of painless remote-controlled ( meaning that the target will be marked automatically) thorns that will chase whoever you have aimed at. When they stick in the target, which can be an ally or enemy, they will mark the target, being able to see them through the walls at all times without losing sight of them. This will last a minute and a half on enemies and 10 mins on allies. It is a really useful ability to chase creatures or enemies or not to lose your allies in, for example, an expedition or in a cave. With the C, the Pholidocercus will be able to grab small-sized creatures or babies in their early stages (with the exception of large-sized hatchlings like Giga's). While you are not mounted on it, you can activate a barricade mode (via the animal's options menu) in which the Pholidocercus will position itself exposing its spines so that, when an enemy comes in contact with it, it will take damage. In addition, if an enemy is in a very close radius to it. He will throw his spines around him every 30 secs. This, combined with the buff he gains from taking a mushroom brew, can create an excellent base defense, so if you're not online, you could leave a large amount of these brews in his inventory to ensure a good defense. MOUNT Unlocked at level 68. The mount consists of two closed cabins located on either side of the Pholidocercus, in which the player on the left drives and the player on the right can use ranged weapons. As the player is inside an enclosed cabin, he will be able to enter radioactive or poisonous areas without taking damage, as well as generating some resistance to heat and cold. If you liked it, we would be eternally grateful for your vote, as it would help us a lot to bring our beloved Pholidocercus to the Ark universe. We are sorry if there are any mistakes in the translation, since we are Spanish and, personally, English is not our strong point. Even so, we have made an effort to make sure that everything is understandable. We have put the controls only on PC because it is the medium through which we play Ark and we do not know what would be the equivalent controls on consoles. Thank you very much for reading this far as it has been many days of work and you do us a big favor just having read everything. If you have any suggestions for changes or additions, let us know. See you, survivors! Made by Deigo, with the help of Blos, Lote and DRGarca.
  10. Thank you for taking the time to look at my submission about the Villebrunster. I have always considered ark to more than just a game. I am always fascinated by the amount of new creatures in the game that I have never heard of before. It causes me to research and look up more about the creatures. While looking at other creature submissions and previous votes, I saw a lot of recurring creatures or creatures that were very similar. I wanted to add a bit more diversity to the ark voting and have a new unique species come into ark. Sadly I am no artist, so I wouldn't be able to provide original art. I can however provide pictures of Villebrunaster! I hope you enjoy my submission, The Villebrunaster! VILLEBRUNASTER Common name: Villebrunaster Species: Asterozoa Time: Ordovician Period Diet:Carnivore/Pescatavore Temperament: Neutral DOMESTICATION Tamable: Yes Breedable: Yes Rideable: Yes Image of Villebrunaster WILD: Villebrunastar is a unusually large species of starfish that had adapted to live on land rather than in the water. It is an incredibly tough and resilient creature that would best be described as a tank with suction cups. It's hard outer shell and it's ability to climb up nearly any vertical surface makes it very hard to kill but also a very unusual sight. Many would expect a Thylocean or Purlovia to fall down on them from the trees or in the caves only to have a starfish fall on their heads. It's multiple limbs give it the ability to climb and also have the ability to regrow themselves after a fight. Even without their arms they can still climb using the suction cups located on their main body. Here is where I could imagine Villebrunaster spawning. Up at the top drawing seekers to it's mouth. DOMESTICATED: The Villebrunastar is a carnivorous creature that mainly eats Squid bats but has a love of Karakinos claws which prove very effective in taming it. It can be given a saddle and ridden, though many think that this looks quite ridiculous as the rider has to ride in the creatures mouth. Aside from being very silly looking, it is also rather slow and despite it being able to put up a fight; many people use them for their utility. I have seen large fights with Villebrunaster losing all their arms, and despite being armless; Villebrunaster always seems to be able to make a great escape. I envision Villebrunaster being a tank/support. I do believe we don't need any more dps tames on aberration. Let us not upset the balance of the wildlife on aberration. Sure they might be able to do alright damage, but I would like them to never do more than a rock drake or reaper. Villebrunastar Taming: You will first need to lure them off the ceiling by hitting them with plant species z fruit. After they are on the ground, you will then need to destroy all of its arms. Destroying its arms causing it to run away. After a while it will return to where it lost it's limbs though it is unknown as to why. Perhaps it wants to try and eat it's lost limbs to replenish it's energy, or perhaps it wants to take revenge on it's attacker. Once it return it is possible to climb into the creatures mouth and feed it. It has a wide variety of tastes including Karakinos claws, plant species Z fruit, and raw prime meat. After feeding it the Villebrunastar will calm down and eventually become friendly towards the person who fed it. Each arm takes around 10 minutes to grow back. While taming, if more than 3 grow back you will need to attack it again to remove the arms, during which you will lose affinity. A example of what I would imagine its mouth looking like. ( It has evolved in aberration. Its lifestyle caused its mouth to be above its body instead of underneath). Abilities/Attacks: First Attack- Basic attack where it lifts one arm up and slams it down to knockback and deal damage to enemies. Second Attack- Bite attack(Will only be able to bite from above its mouth) Third Attack- Lifts up all arms above mouth and slams them down to create a shockwave similar to a wyverns wing attack. This attack deals decent damage if all arms hit, knocks enemies back and slows them. Fourth Attack- Grabs a target with one of it's arms, it can either slam them down, throw them, or carry them somewhere else. This could be useful for taming and transport of creatures. Each arm can carry one creature but after carrying 3 or more it loses the ability to climb. Fifth Ability- Cycles through skin types similar to a Stego. You can choose between Rock mode which increaes defense or Spike mode which enables reflect damage. Sixth ability- (Requires no arms) Will release pheromones calming enemies for a time. This allows Villebrunaster to possibly escape. Seventh Ability- Can cycle through the types of light it gives off. 1) simple light 2) damage boosting light to nearby allies 3) health regen light to nearby allies 4) damage resist to nearby allies 5) weaponized light that acts like a flashbang to stun and deal damage to enemies (Activation is on a different key and you will see a bar indicating your flashbang is charged. Will use all your charge and damage scales depending on how much charge you used). These are just ideas of abilities to hopefully catch peoples and wildcards eyes. Some additional images Image of a asterozoa I encourage everyone if they have a different idea for Villebrunaster to share it! Thank you again for stopping by and reading!
  11. Coming to ark, the Thanahita Distos arrives. Spawn locations: red area of aberration, SW surface of aberration, wasteland of extinction, high orbit (lunar biome) of Genesis part 1, and Rockwell’s Profiliteration of Gen 2 Dossier: Common name: Thanahita Species name: Thanahita Distos Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: I saw the rare and deadly Thanahita Distos in the depths today, an encounter that caused me to nearly die. I learned of the toxic quills the hard way, which led to it being harder to see, constant bleeding due to an anticoagulant, my heart beating faster than ever, and a red haze around my head. While we had the reapers to help us, Tha Thanahita easily broke through it’s armor. Domesticated: While an act one could definitely call perilous, the Thanahita can be tamed by throwing a specialized grenade at an angry Thanahita. It’s rage can be funneled to destroy enemies, and it naturally can rip through reaper armor, making more aggressive tribes have a source of power. End of dossier Abilities: Left click, it bites the target in front of it, dealing 180 damage. Reight click, It shoots a quill at the creature near it, dealing 20 damage and the venom debuff. Passive: Strong mandibles: it’s bite attack is not affected by the armor of a reaper. Enragement: When at 10% health or less, it deals 2x the damage it normally does and takes 0.5x the damage it normally takes. Base stats: Health: 10,000 Stamina: 1,000 Oxygen, NO OXYGEN STAT, CAN BREATH UNDERWATER Food: 500 Movement speed: base of 5,000 Weight: 10,000 Taming: To knockout you need to throw a radiant grenade at it, dealing 1,000 torpor to the Thanahita. THE THANAHITA MUST BE ENRAGED TO DEAL TORPOR. New items: Venom: Used to craft some new items and when eaten gives the water the venom debuff Venom dart: crafted using 1 tranq dart, 3 metal, and 2 Venom, when shot through a longneck will deal 20 damage and give the target the venom debuff Radiant bomb:Crafted using 50 red gems, 20 congealed gas blobs, 50 metal, and 3 venom. When thrown deals 500 damage from the explosion to all creatures but an enraged Thanahita, also creates a cloud similar in size the the smoke of a smoke grenade but green and inflicts radiation poisoning. When thrown at an enraged Thanahita will deal 1,000 torpor. Thanahita saddle: crafted with 20 fungal wood, 50 red gems, 50 green gems, and 50 blue gems. Can be used to ride a Thanahita and looks like a Arthro saddle but larger and only on the head of the Thanahita. New Debuff: Venom, Temporarily lowers the vision of the target like Dilo venom but black instead of green and drains 50% of current health over 5 seconds, also creates a red haze near the head of those with the debuff, a person with the debuff will also be able to hear a heartbeat noise. All functions of the venom debuff lasts 5 seconds. The Thanahita Distos is as long as a Rex but as tall as a Carno. That is it for the creature submission,
  12. Hello survivors. I introduce you to my first creature concept for ARK so don't hesitate to ask for more details and also share your ideas in the comments. Thank you. I find it a pity that with more than 50,000 species known in our time only one type of spider is found in the game, which we will not lie to ourselves is not really useful. (Araneo) So I wanted to look into the subject to give the game and the players more diversity. (sorry for our arachnophobic friends) Mygalomorphae Aspída Aspidas have the same physical characteristics as mygals that we know at least if we don’t take into account their terrifying size. They are slightly smaller than karkinos but more massive, and would have chitin outgrowths on their bodies, particularly on their legs and abdomen, which would enable them to withstand blows, hence their name Aspída, meaning shield in Greek. Mygale without chitin outgrowths Shielded abdomen Wild : They are found mainly in the warm regions of the globe, tropical and subtropical areas such as dense wet or dry forests under rocks and tree strains but more in caves. Solitary by nature, females Aspídas live in their dens, a corner covered with cloth, whose entrance is trapped where they wait for a prey to be caught. Being a carnivorous species they will devour all creatures below their size caught in their trap, if they take too great a risk with their prey, they will not hesitate to free it to avoid serious injury. Unlike the males, who they constantly wander in search of females and will hunt the unconscious passing too close to them, except in the face of a more massive predator where they will prefer to avoid confrontation. However, male Aspídas can be seen leaping from rock faces to land violently on a predator, pinning it to the ground and delivering the fatal blow. Taming : (PASSIVE) Only female Aspídas can be tamed. To do this, you will need to draw her to the entrance of her dungeon with a baston or yourself and do her as much damage as possible before she kills your baston. She will eventually release her prey to shelter in her baston by plowing the entry with her body by adopting a defensive posture and will begin to regenerate. They will just take your assault back to starve her enough, which will have the effect of making her unable to treat herself, obviously be careful not to kill her during the process. After that she will stop defending herself and try to feed herself by grabbing your bastón and train her into her bark to devour it. To tame an Aspída, a single domestic dinosaur must be sacrificed. The taming speed varies according to the size and wild level of the dinosaur. The larger the prey, the longer the taming time, but will gain more levels compared to smaller prey that can be digested quickly. At the end of the taming process, the prey dies instantly. You will also have the opportunity to do it yourself by leaving yourself caught. (Again sorry for the arachnophobes) Before she devours you, you will use an insect repellent which will prevent her from biting you, and will leave you the field free to feed her with the "Filthy porridge" cooked in advance. If you delay feeding it, it will propel you out of its cage due to the insect repellent. Size Quantity Time Level (Aspída) Small x1 ≈ 2h29 lvl 75 Medium x1 ≈ 3h15 lvl 75 Large x1 ≈ 4h06 lvl 75 Filthy porridge x33 16min lvl 150 Recipe: "Filthy porridge" (2x raw prime meat) (10x organic polymer) (20x chitin) (5x human/leech blood) (3x silk) (1x waste*) * Waste is the undigested remains of aspídas prey, found in front of dens and close to male aspídas. Abilities: - The Aspída is a basic attack thanks to its first pair of legs which it shakes from top to bottom. (left click) She is also able to catch creatures in two different ways : 1- With its first pair of legs, it can catch creatures of equal or smaller size than stegosaurus. 2- Using her pedipalps, she can catch smaller creatures, including players. The larger or heavier the creature, the more the Aspída will lose in speed of movement. (Right click) - Aspída's body is covered with thin urticant hair that serves to repel its aggressors. (Crouch key) She rubs her abdomen with her fourth pair of legs to create a cloud of hair that will slow down any creatures that enter, and blind them if their heads are touched. - The particularity of the Aspída is its armored body which gives it a good basic resistance to physical damage. She can considerably increase this resistance by adopting a defensive posture, bringing her legs closer to her cephalothorax. (Ctrl) This dramatically reduces damage and protects the player from outside attacks, but reduces movement speed. This posture prevents him from catching creatures, but allows him to fend them off with his first pair of legs. The projection distance varies according to the creature's size, and only applies to creatures it can catch. (Right click) - She is only able to cure herself when she is in a defensive position. (Crouch Key) This healing mechanic is quite special because it is based on the fact that the Aspída needs to generate a "reserve of fluid" that it consumes to heal itself. This reserve is charged when the Aspída eats its prey or by making it eat "Filthy porridge". - When the Aspída catches creatures its base attack changes to a bite. (left click) This attack is used by stabbing the prey with its fangs without releasing it. The neurotoxin that paralyzes the prey prevents it from defending itself, not to mention the enzyme that predigests the internal organs and drains the life that feeds the Aspída's "fluid reserve". The creatures in this situation have only two solutions to hope to survive, either the Aspída releases it on its own, or an opposing player uses insect repellent on his mount, forcing the Aspída to let go. Bitten creatures and players will be given a malus (which reverses their movements or makes them look drunk) and slowed down, the duration of the malus depending on the duration of the bite. If the prey dies due to the process, its body turns into waste that the Aspída recovers in its inventory. - The Aspída shows incredible mobility thanks to its eight legs and moving on any type of surface (walls, ceilings). She has a jump that propels it forwards or upwards, depending on the camera angle, to surprise its prey. (Spacebar) The upward leap enables him to reach creatures in the air to catch them. - During a fall she can slow down its descent by linking its legs with its web and hovering to gain ground. (Spacebar) Weaknesses : The Aspida is immobilizable by the projectable net except when she is in its defensive position which reduces by two the time of immobilization and does not deflect the player and is not affected by the plants Z. But its greatest weaknes is fire. Once burned the Aspída can no longer heal itself and suffers more damage than other creatures. In its defensive position the flaming torches and arrows do not burn it and for the oil bottles, the flame lances and the wyvern fire take longer to be able to burn her. Breeding : Only females Aspídas can be tamed, so no mating.... It's a joke, of course it's possible to mate Aspídas ... but without males it's impossible unless you accept that wild male Aspídas can be good lovers, because yes that is the only way. You will first need to locate a male, secure the area around him to avoid accidents that could interfere with mating. Place yourself at a distance from the male to activate mating on your female, who will release pheromones that the male will detect and hasten to join her. Stay away from them, chasing away any unwanted intruders. Mating is rather quick, due to the cannibalistic manner of the females towards the males during mating. This forces them not to stay too long, so don't forget to put the female on "passive" to prevent her from devouring him. Males have a relatively short waiting time after each mating, compared to other creatures, giving other tribes a chance to enjoy them too. Babies : The female Aspída makes a cocoon to place its many eggs safely. The number of births is very low, between two and five, compared to the large number of eggs in the cocoon, this is due to the fact that they devour in them. (Nature is well done) Babies feed on "Filthy porridge", then as adults they will be able to eat spoiled meat like their parents and their gender will be determined in adulthood. Players can decide where the Aspída will set up its cocoon by giving it the order to place it on the floor, wall or ceiling. Utility : - I wanted to make the Aspída an alternative to the stegosaurus, with more uses and more gameplay variations, while at the same time playing the role of a tank that can destabilize the opposing team at any moment. - In terms of statistics, Aspída's health, stamina and weight are high, and she'll be the ARK creature with the most defense. - Its displacement capabilities allow it to go over walls to reach enemy defenses on the edge of cliffs or cave ceilings for example. - Its defensive posture enables it to support stegosaurus during raids, and also to heal itself by consuming "Immonde Mud", which feeds its fluid reserve. - Defensive posture and care can be activated in the Aspída action roulette. - Due to her diet, she can swallow consumables reserved for humans and benefit from certain advantages such as energy stew with +30% melee damage, concentration chili with +25% movement speed and pint of beer with increased damage resistance and without the nausea malus. Let's not forget that it feeds on the liquefied entrails of its prey. This allows us to adapt to the situation, such as rushing into bases under enemy turret fire to catch players or creatures playing at a distance. -Like Thylacoleos, Aspídas can project themselves into the void from a rock face (walls, ceilings, etc.) to catch flying or terrestrial prey. Flying prey will be grabbed and violently slammed to the ground, which will severely injure and stun them for a time, depending on the height of the fall and the weight of the Aspída. On the other hand, if a player is on top of the prey, he'll be thrown from his mount due to the impact on the ground. The same applies to terrestrial prey. Creatures that will be affected by this mechanic are those that can be caught with the first pair of legs and creatures larger than the stegosaurus, such as diplodocus, karkinos, paraceratherium, reaper, rock drake, spinosaurus, quetzal, wyvern, mamouth, ext ..., and also other Aspídas. Smaller creatures, including players using their pedipalps, are not affected, but can be caught in the air. - The use of insect repellent allows players and creatures to free themselves from the grip of Aspída after 3 seconds. - The player has the option to use his weapons on the back of the Aspída except during his defensive posture.
  13. The Jaekelop When I woke in this strange place, I have seen many terrifying creatures hunt and kill in the name of food and survival, but I have seen few animals kill just because. What I could only describe as a massive glowing version of the island's deep sea eurypterids, this monster's nature is much more aggressive and dangerous than even its cousins. I could only assume this is a beefed up version of the ancient jaekelopterus rhenaniae, or as I call them, the jaekelop. This was already a massive arthropod, but this weird environment seems to have taken that feature and bumped it up even more, and give it the ability to traverse land for a moderate amount of time. Based off it's often aggressive interactions with the other fauna of these caves, I can tell you that none but the largest of beasts can even scratch it's carapace, and even if that happens, it's massive claws come down even harder in retaliation. Speaking of its claws, what I could only call teeth line the edges of the of these weapons and seem to deliver a corrosive toxin that quickly kills smaller creature and damages structures. Another notable thing is that while it still eats like any other animal, sometimes it leaves the corpses behind. which ironically has supplied the group with food and clothes. I would just make sure that nothing finds it before you. Taming this beast conventionally does not seem to work because of its thick shell, but remember when I mentioned it can go on land, it appears that it can only do this for a bit before it has to return to the water for oxygen. This one fact has allowed a group of insane survivors to find a way to make it theirs. It turns out that these beasts may be somewhat intelligent and their senseless killing is just for sport, territory, or a challenge. Survivors that have worn it down without killing jaekelop will find that it tries to returns to the water. During that time, the survivors can poor water in it's gills while it retreats. Do this enough and you might earn it's trust. Just do not follow it back into the water, it's still a sea monster after all. Once tamed it can be ridden bareback as there are a ton of edges to grab on its carapace, or it can be equipped with a defensive saddle that provides the rider protection and gathers water so the beast can stay on land for as long as the tanks have good old H2O. This tank saddle has also come in handy for the trips to the element rivers, where it filters out the element into it's dust form. Aside from their gathering utilities, they are also excellent war mounts that can take beatings that would easily kill even larger animals. Web Picture: My Conceptual Art: Abilities: Can pick up small to medium dinos much like the karkinos Claw slam/crush attack Tail slam with knockback and slight stun when looking behind Corrosive claw toxin damages creatures, survivors, and any building tier. Can use it's massive tail from the water or on land to propel them vertically and fall down in a belly flop attack. Immune to jellyfish (thank god) Can tuck its tail under its body and fling itself far distances (backward or forwards) Can gather metal (limited), wood, thatch, stone, obsidian(limited), flint, and element dust (with reverse scuba saddle) Saddle can used as a water tap and scuba gear for player. Sometimes leaves animal corpses behind for gathering When submerged can either crawl on the bottom or swim (really good swimmer) Immune to bleed affects from anything smaller than an allo Gains a water buff like the spino Player cannot be picked or shot off the animal because of the capsule like saddle Saddle automatically collects water when exposed to it Can ride bear back (probably should be close to water so it doesn't run out of oxygen) Will attempt to get to water source when dangerously low on oxygen regardless of the rider's command, leash, or any wall that may stand in its way. Player can toggle its ability use nearby water taps to rehydrate Takes reduced fall damage. Natural turret soaker (drains water tanks quickly so beware) Increased healing in water Immune to element water Massive health pool and great damage Vulnerabilities: Increased damage from fire Bullets and other projectiles can damage the water tanks while draining them (will not damage saddle, you just need to repair the tanks) damage taken to tanks depends on quality of saddle Long recovery time from belly flop How to tame: Lure it on land and kite it around while pelting it with arrows, bullets, or whatever (be careful not to kill it). Then through a visual que, it will start to retreat back to water when it' s low on oxygen or has taken to much of a beating. While it's retreating, go up it's sides behind it's head and give it water from skins, jars, or canteens (the tier of the water receptacle will determine the amount of taming). You will not be able to tame it while it's in the water, so lure it out again and repeat the process until it's done (will have to do this a couple times with higher levels). Habitat: Rare in bioluminescent region Uncommon in hazard region (Most likely to find them in the element river in the rock drake trench)
  14. There is already a post so check it here: Diprotodon was a genus of australian marsupials that went extinct around 46.000 years ago. They had a lifestyle like the actual wombats. In Ark, they have adapted to the wild and savage Aberration's conditions from the top (the surface) to the bottom (the deepest caves). They are a medium-late tame especially useful in every area, but they are sleepy too. DOSSIER WILD Diprotodon is a genus that contains 4 sub species that you can find on the fertile zone of Aberration's cave system. They look very peaceful and calm until you bother them while they take a nap. Diprotodon´s heavy weight helps them to carry up to two medium creatures such as ravagers, raptors... that can be released in the middle of a combat, or maintained on the saddle so they can use their abilities such as parasaur's roar. While they wander on the plains, they will randomly dig a small hole in the ground where you can find valuable items, with the help of an already tamed one, so it is a good idea to keep some wild specimens. DOMESTICATED To tame one of these gentle beasts you must play with them. They love to hide items underground and you will have to find them so your friendship will improve. Apparently, the Diprotodon sub-species only differ on their fur pattern, but they have plenty of different abilities. By now I have named them as: D.ven. they can unearth the hidden items underground and they can even track dinos or resources smelling their scent; D.gra. they have the ability to trample the ground breaking rocks, trees and bushes, and even stunning dinos; D.hyd. they can throw different items that are a good help for the combat, they have developed a fierce bite to face Aberration's biggest predators; and lastly, D.odo. (or also called as the hairy diprotodons), they have evolved their fur structure and now they can retain scents and other properties on their fur, with this skill they can survive on the wildest environments such as the burning surface, or even the radiated depths. Diprotodons spawn on the fertile green zone on small groups from 3 to 5 adult specimens and 1 or 2 babies, they wander and dig some holes on the ground hiding different objects like resources, weapons, tools... They like to sleep and are always calm, but if you approach too much while they are taking a nap or if you attack them, they will show their fierce side. It is a good idea to keep a small group on a medium enclosure wandering so you get free items similar to Gacha, but it is not that simple, you will need help from already tamed diprotodons (I will that explain later). The taming process is a bit complex (at first time), but it is fun too. you will have to find a baby alone, if the adults near see you they will attack you so you may have to kill them or take away the baby which is simpler. The babies are very curious and will follow you if you have honey or rare flower on the last spot of the tool bar (like Ferox do with element). To start the tame, you must give them one of the two items, then you will have to give them special ones such as crops, gems, pearls, sap... If the item is common the tame will increase only a bit, but if it´s a rare one such as black pearls, the tame will advance faster. Once you give them the item, they will knock you they will start digging a random number of holes from 4-8 (only for the first time); then after you wake up you will have to find the item hidden on one of the holes, if you don't, they will hit you and the taming effectiveness will decrease, you only have two opportunities for item and 3 opportunities to fail in each tame. This process would be easier with the help of a sniffer diprotodon that is able to smell if there is an item in the hole. Once tamed, you will have to care for the babies and feed them until they grow. But fortunately, if you have a female Diprotodon tamed, you will have Diprotodon milk (generated only on the female's inventory but slow because it is a useful item) this item helps them grow faster but they gain a buff so you cannot feed them milk all the time, just after a period of some minutes. As the dossier says, there are four distinct species, each one with their own pattern. All of them have some abilities in common: -High health and oxygen (while being in the water the player doesn´t lose oxygen because their fur retains bubbles of air underwater, so it is helpful for harvesting underwater resources). -They are immune to earthquakes because of their heavy weight (this means that the screen won´t move while there is an earthquake). -They can be mounted with or without saddle. The saddle is unlocked at a medium level and has two baskets to carry two small or medium dinos (from Dodos to Parasaurs). With another key (a different "attack") the dinos of the baskets are released and they attack if they are neutral/aggressive. -The main attack is a hit with one of their front legs, that deals damage on area. -They have fatigue level too (that could be a new stat for them) if this stat runs out, they will start to sleep, no matter where they are. This stat decreases using their species unique abilities. The milk can be used to for increasing this stat, so they do not fall sleep. The 4 fur patterns are: plain (sniffer), spotted (tank), stripped (hairy) and dotted (attacker). Their hair glows in the dark of the bio-luminescent region (with cyan, lilac, violet and blue tones) and the molten region (with pink, purple and red tones). The four sub-species have different abilities and a higher stat compared to the other ones: D.venatodix-plain/sniffer: -Higher stat: speed. -Sniff (new attack): can be used to check if there is an item on a hole; or to track dinos (you must sniff the death body of that dino species) or resources (you have to sniff the resource thrown on the ground). Then some marks like Parasaur's enemies will show you where the nearest dinos or resources of that kind are. D.gravirrus-spotted/tank: -Higher stat: weight. -Stomp (new attack): to stun dinos, break bushes, trees or rocks with their back legs. -While wandering they can pick up items from the ground such as earthquakes' items. D.odoriferum-stripped/hairy: -Higher stat: stamina. -They can cover their fur with different objects this ability consumes one item of the inventory every certain short interval of time and to start this ability there is a small bar of items on the left of the screen similar to Mek's gasoline level for choosing the item): sap (surface's sun protector), gas ball (immunity to radiation), rare flowers (the Diprotodon is followed by other Diprotodons and herbivore dinos), gems (increase defense) or insect repellent. -They can cover their fur with the scent of an object (you have to make them consume the item and they gain a buff for some seconds/minutes): nameless venom (the Diprotodon is ignored by nameless), reaper pheromone (reaper queens follow the Diprotodon so they can be trapped) and angler gel (the Diprotodon glows like small shoulder dinos like Shinehorn). D.hydrimicus-dotted/attacker: -Higher stat: damage. -They have a throwing attack that leaves an area on the ground. They can throw honey (slow down), gas balls (increases torpor) or oil (to burn it). This Diprotodon can stay on turret mode such as Velonasaur and consumes items from its inventory (like the sniffer, it has a bar to select the projectile). -They have a bite attack too. A well-planned Diprotodon formation won´t stop you exploration around the Aberration’s caves and surface. For example, to dive in radiation zones, a hairy Diprotodon will give the nearest creatures immunity to radiation. If your plan is to steal some Rockdrake’s eggs, some attacker Diprotodons as companions will help you to get rid of the beasts. You could even count on a tank to receive all the damage and a sniffer to find the eggs more easily. And this is not considering the dinos carried by them on their saddle. As you can see, each species has its own range of abilities, but combined with a good strategy they can face all the aberrant dangers that await them in this savage world. They are incredibly strong and adapted to every environment, but they have a weakness (already explained before), their sleepiness, that could lead to a failed battle. They may fall sleep on half of a combat, and their fatigue level cannot be increased by level points, so you must be conscious about that. DISCLAIMERS -I am not a professional artist I have tried my best on the dossier and the artworks. I would appreciate any advice for the next drawings. -All the drawings are mine except the dossier icons and templates. -The species names are not real; these names have been created by me combining Latin words related to their own abilities. The original species is Diprotodon optatum. -I know these are too many abilities for one creature but I think the game needs a multitasking ground creature. Any of these abilities can be modified and I would appreciate every advice or idea for the concept. -English is not my first language so please if there are any mistakes let me know on the comments. I am sorry in advance for any mistakes. My objective is to add different and unknown creatures to the game so they can be seen by new people that may discover their amazing potential. Of course, the extinct Diprotodon did not have these abilities, but they were amazing as all the creatures of our planet. I think Ark needs to deepen about australian extinct fauna (and Cenozoic megafauna too), Diprotodon is the third marsupial on the game and a new way to appreciate Australia's unusual fauna. Thank you so much for your attention. Only your view and reading of my post is especially important to me and I appreciate it. I hope you like my Diprotodon concept!! Thanks again.
  15. Common Name: Edmontosaurus Species: Edmontosaurus annectens Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: "When I first saw this colossal herbivore, I thought it was a gentle animal. But that's not the case with Edmontosaurus. This creature usually goes in small herds of 4 individuals and at least one member of the group is a baby. For this reason, adults show extremely territorial behavior against any possible threat. Even if you are a newly arrived survivor! The Edmontosaurus on this ark have evolved by developing a complex bioluminescent system. When their body does not generate light, it means that they are calm while walking through the mushroom forests. But as soon as the light on their bodies turns red, it is a warning sign because they feel threatened and could soon respond aggressively." Domesticated: "Some survivors discovered that the Edmontosaurus's diet can affect its bioluminescence. By consuming any type of mushroom, it is capable of releasing certain spores around it and allowing the creature to use abilities that in the wild it would not be able to. Any ally within his radius will be under a healing or lighting effect, depending on what their tamer decides. Allied dinos recover their health faster and the nameless don't even dare to come to the surface with Edmontosaurus present! There is also a third ability that the creature can use once it consumes mushrooms. It consists of concentrating its spores and releasing them in a powerful shock wave that damages everything within the radius. This allows the Edmontosaurus to harvest any material around it and deal heavy damage to any enemies nearby. This set of skills makes the edmontosaurus a worthy rival to apex predators or even bosses and a great explorer of the radioactive zone Introduction: Greetings survivors! I present to you my humble idea of the Edmontosaurus, the massive herbivore of aberration The main functions of this dino consist of: Rol as a Support Instant healer Light creature Area damage Tank turrets Area Harvester Immunity to torpor, toxins and radiation Ability to find max-level creatures Taming helper Wild: Edmontosaurus usually roam the green zone of aberration, although they can rarely be seen in the blue zone. As they are the largest herbivore on this ark (rivaling in size with spinosaurus or even a reaper king), only a maximum of one herd can spawn (between 4 and 5 specimens, one of them being a baby). They are not fast, but they can be very insistent when they enter a territorial state. Taming Process: Since the adults are too dangerous, the only alternative is to tame the baby of the herd. The process is complex: being a bioluminescent creature, the survivor must attract the baby with a light creature. It should be approached little by little, with the light creature turned on and without attracting the attention of adults.(It is recommended to wear a camouflage suit. Only the baby will detect you if you have the light on) Once the baby becomes curious, it will slowly approach until it is within reach of the survivor. When the baby starts to wag its tail, turn off the light and wait for the edmontosaurus start a light sequence. Once finished, the baby will turns his head to the side and that means it is your turn to imitate the pattern. If you repeat the pattern correctly using your light creature, the baby will let itself be fed by you. But if you make a mistake, the baby will start crying and the adults will respond aggressively. As you tame the baby, the confidence of the adults will change depending on the taming bar. From 1% to 25% domestication, adult edmontosaurus will be territorial if they spot you. from 26 to 50% domestication, adults will only watch you in case they detect you. From 51 to 100% domestication, the adults will no longer be territorial, unless you make the baby cry. Once the little edmontosaurus has been domesticated, the wild adults will no longer behave territorially towards the survivor, unless a new baby appears in the herd. Tamed: Congratulations! You have tamed an Edmontosaurus. Like any baby, you will need to spend time and care with it until it becomes an adult and finally uses its abilities. Actions: Primary Attack: A basic bite attack. It doesn't deal much damage, but it does help you harvest berries, fiber, wood, and straw. Secondary Attack: Generates a radius that allows you to use any of the edmontosaurus' spore abilities (requires consuming 100 mushrooms of any type) Spores Abilities (Click C, , ): Allows the Edmontosaurus to activate any of its 3 spore abilities. (healing state, lighting state, shock wave) Bipedal posture (Press Control, , ): allows the dino to stop using its quadrupedal stance and move bipedally, making it faster when walking or running (spore abilities not available in this state) Spores Abilities: Each spore ability requires the edmontosaurus to consume a total of 100 mushrooms of any type. This will recharge a spore fuel that will appear next to the survivor's inventory (just like mek fuel). Depending on which skill you use, the edomontosaurus will consume a certain percentage of this fuel. Heal state: When it activates, it instantly heals allies for 25% of the Edmontosaurus's total health (the more health the dino has, the more it heals) Then, over a 5 min period, all allies within range will be healed for a 5% of Edmontosaurus's total health constantly. Once that period is over, the edmontosaurus will be able to use any of its spores ability again. (Using this skill will consume 25% of the spore fuel) Lighting state: When activated, it creates a lighting effect on all allies within its radius. Prevents the appearance of nameless and reaper kings. It also allows you to identify max level creatures nearby. This state of the Edmontosaurus combined with a good battle mount, will allow you to fight or tame Reapers. The lighting range will be affected by the amount of stamina on the dino (The more stamina it has, the larger the area affected by the light will be) The duration of this state is 10 minutes. Once finished, the dino will be able to use any of its spore abilities again. (Using this skill will consume 50% of the spore fuel) Shock Wave: When activated, it generates a powerful shockwave that destroys any harvestable material around it and the resources will be stored in the Edmontosaurus's inventory. Enemies that are affected by this ability will take triple the total damage of the dino (example: if the edmontosaurus has 200 damage, the shock wave will do 600 damage) In addition, enemies will be affected by a bleeding and a bones fracture that weaken them for a few seconds. The damage and shockwave effects are instant, but cooldown is 3 minutes to use any of his spore abilities. (using this skill will consume 100% of the spore fuel) Conclusion: Edmontosaurus is a mount with primarily support uses. However, the combination of those skills along with proper upbringing make him an indispensable dino. There are few healers available in the game and few herbivores capable of taking on dangerous predators like rexes, reapers, or even gigas. Edmontosaurus opens the door for a hervivorean (not counting titanosaurus) to be able to take on the ark's dangerous apex predators. Thanks you
  16. Tenrec - The Vanguard of Spines In the dark and enigmatic depths of the Aberration caves, resides an extraordinary and fascinating creature known as the Tenrec. With its impressive appearance and unique abilities, this wall of spines stands out as a formidable guardian and loyal companion in underground adventures. The Tenrec is a medium-sized creature with a muscular body and a tough, scaly skin. What catches the eye are the sharp spines that cover its dorsal spine, providing formidable defense against potential threats. It excels as a reliable guide, capable of exploring radioactive and dangerous areas without suffering the harmful effects. For those seeking a dependable companion in the abyssal depths, the Tenrec is the perfect choice. Ability 3 - Seismic Hammer: The Tenrec can unleash a powerful shockwave by slamming the ground hard, causing a seismic tremor that affects enemy creatures in an area around it. Passive Skills: Radiation Resistance: It has a natural resistance to radiation which makes it capable of exploring highly radioactive areas without suffering the harmful effects of radiation, allowing survivors to use it as a safe guide in dangerous environments. Toxin Resistance: It has a natural resistance to poisons and toxins. I don't speak English so some sentences may have been slightly confusing Again it is worth mentioning that all "concept arts" were made by i.a Animal based : Hemicentetes semispinosus
  17. Australian frog declared extinct in 1995 carnivorous Length 2.50m | height 2m THE REAL ANIMAL HOW LOOKS LIKE IN THE GAME Presentation: This frog survived thanks to the aberration ark, where it adapted to face the new challenges of this strange environment, increasing its mass, strength and defenses now it is able to face many of the creatures of the ark and protect his offspring. Once trained and equipped with the saddle, the survivors will be able to make the most of its attack and defense capabilities to make it a useful offensive and defensive creature. Wild: Normally it is found motionless in the marshes with its wide mouth open moving its tongue making it look like a small animal and waits for some prey to get close enough to eat it. The survivors will not be in danger as long as they do not get too close, even if they get too close it will be enough to move away to no longer be chased. Like its real-life counterpart it can keep its tadpoles or baby frogs safely in its stomach only to release them when grown enough, during these times the frog will keep its mouth shut and will try to avoid any confrontation with other creatures, becoming violent only if his life is in danger. Domestication: To train this creature the survivors will be able to implement 2 methods: 1) they have to look for an adult with its mouth open, then kill an animal and transport it up to the adult frog which with a flick of its tongue will snatch the killed prey from the survivor's hands, the heavier the prey it will be more efficient in taming, the frog after consuming the prey it will also try to attack the survivor who will have to move away. The process has to be repeated several times. 2) the survivors will be able to kill a pregnant female specimen and extract her cub from the frog's body which will be raised by the survivors. Trained: Despite its size it manages to move with agility and make small but rapid leaps, in water it is not the fastest but with excellent control of underwater movements The survivors will be able to exploit this animal to plunder the nests of wild creatures to get their eggs, the amphibian with a flick of the tongue will bring the eggs and the younger creatures into its mouth where it will keep them without damaging them, the frog will no longer be able to feed while puppies or eggs will be in his mouth. This frog can also collect and incubate the eggs of other amphibians The frog can grow a couple of puppies in their first stages of life in its stomach by feeding them with food from its inventory, however the frog in the meantime will not be able to feed itself, once the puppies have passed the first stages of life they will automatically come out of the mouth of the frog. Normal Attack: A simple bite (35 power) Jump attack: the frog will be able to leap forward by ramming the opponent with its body, knocking him back and if the target is lighter than the frog it will stun him for a few seconds Tongue Strike: The frog uses its tongue as a sticky whip with which it can catch and swallow objects held by survivors by disarming them or retrieve young animals and eggs Defensive stance: the frog will crush its body to the ground and sacrifice its agility and jumping ability to gain a defensive baff on all damage by 60/70% Saddle: The design of the saddle increases the defenses through metal plates (base armor approximately 40) also provides protection with metal bulkheads to the knight from damage, except those coming from above, after all the survivor will be able to use his firearms or throw grenades
  18. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiktaalik Species: Tiktaalik cavernus Time: Late Devonic Temperament: Egg protector Diet: Piscivore Wild: If you go through of the caves, more specifically for its caves, it is most likely that you will find a Tiktaalik, at first sight, they seem peacefully, but if you annoy it, it will become aggressive towards you, biting you, hiting you with its tail and head. It swim so fast but even in mainland it goes at a good velocity. One of its most weird behaviors is that it usually consume element, that makes that elemental fragments increases around its body, which makes it have more power overall. Domesticated: To tame a Tiktaalik, it's simple, this criatures doesn't have the enough intelligence for being your friends, the only thing you can do is catch one of its eggs that will be floating on the water, but the father and the mother will be protecting the egg, which will difficult so much catch the egg. When you have your adult Tiktaalik tamed you will have different advantages apart from the habilities already mentioned; like for example, after kill different arthropods, your Tiktaalik will get an hormone that will return its skin tone in a reddish color that also will multiply its stats during 15 minutes, with another habilities that will depend about how have you raised your baby Tiktaalik. You also will can put a platform on its back to build your little semiaquatic/portable base.
  19. Common name: Diadectes Species: Diadectes Sideropelicus Time: Early Permian Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Neutral/Weary Wild: Diadectes Sideropelicus are gentle giants that live in herds by the rivers and lakes of Aberration. But no matter how docile they seem Diadectes go berserk when attacked, they will crush their attacker into mush. The tough hides of Diadectes makes them resistant to tranquilizers, arrows and gun shots. The only way to kill a Diadectes would be to have a high damaging creature. The only way to tame Diadectes Sideropelicus since they are impervious to tranqs, you must use your hand to brush them in the water and then feed them with kelp found in the rivers and lakes of Aberration. Tamed: No matter how slow Diadectes seem they are actually quite versatile tames, since they can't be affected by heavy weight and their thick hides make them impervious to bites from creatures, because of this they are immune to bleed and bites that cause disease.
  20. Trigonotarbid Palaeocharinus tryantus A familiar face from SE's submissions General Information Back again for a second time, this time on a more fitting map, the massive Trigonotarbid is here! Now coming in with bioluminescent highlights around its legs and spikes, most Trigos can be found in the Blue Zone, but higher level ones can be found on the surface. Though its size is a bit larger than that of a typical spider, it won't be easy to spot as it blends in with the environment of the Blue Zone. Since these creatures are so large and don't hunt, they can be typically found asleep. When they are asleep though, their bioluminescence goes away. I highly recommend not looking for one when you, or your mount, are low health, as wild Trigos might see you as their next meal attack you. Wild Trigos on the surface will attack you regardless if you're low health or not, they can't be choosy with their next meal up there. Taming These tanky beasts are completely immune to tranqs and tranq creatures, so other methods must be used. Like other arachnids, Trigos are scavenging creatures, meaning they wander around and eat corpses they find. You can use corpses to tame them, but it won't be a quick tame as Trigos have massive appetites! Trigos do find certain deadly creatures tastier than others though. Tamed When you finally tame one, a Trigo is a very useful creature for resource collection in the caves of Aberration. They spoiled meat and regular meat, but regular meat will spoil faster in their inventory. Their relatively cheap saddle acts as a mortar and pestle and platform saddle thanks to the Trigo's large and quite flat abdomen. Trigos are also able to collect various resources; they can collect wood, stone, crystal, all gems, fungal wood (didn't draw), and meat. Trigos offer a large weight reduction on the resources mentioned. Passive Abilities Trigonotarbids, as mentioned before, have weight reductions on the resources they can harvest, but also have other useful abilities. Their bulky form and color can often disguise them as rocks which hides them from being noticed by creatures that would attack them. The rider can turn off their bioluminescence pushes this ability further, but makes Trigos more vulnerable. While eating spoiled meat, Trigonotarbids will occasionally produce Organic Polymer. Trigos can also be occasionally trimmed for molted shell, a substitute for Chitin. Trigonotarbids' shell is so durable that most, nearly all, projectiles can't even scratch it! (arrows, bullets, dilo/arthro venom, etc...) Attacks/Abilities (shortened for easier reading) Leg swipe (camera angle depends which side) Heavy Bite (does not inflict venom as Trigonotarbids don't produce venom) Rear on hind legs (intimidation move) Can rotate in place Can Jump onto surfaces Can crawl walls and ceilings Jump leads into ground slam if lands on the ground Crouches down defensively (takes further reduced damage and predators give up attacking) TL;DR Big Spider Tanky as hell Tame via Corpses Platform & Mortar n Pestle Saddle Angy on Surface Produces Organic Polymer & Chitin Immune to Projectiles (on shell) Glowy Not Glowy when sleeping Harvesting chad Found in Blue Zone and Surface Sneaky for their size Weight reduction of resources it harvests Faster meat spoil time Will eat you/ your tame if you're on low health (Art done by me) Feel free to suggest details in the comment section https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigonotarbida https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palaeocharinus
  21. This Beast Was Once A Tiny Arthropod That Measured About To A Single Inch!!! BUT Due To Rockwell's Manifestation And The Pollution Of Aberration, This Creature Grew To SIGNIFICANT Size!!! Yes, Because Due To The Lack Of GOOD Arthropod Tames, This Will Definitely Be Breedable Im A PvP'er Why Should I Care About This New Creature??? While The Abilities Haven't Been Well Thought Out Yet And It Fits With The No-Flyer Map. While I Don't Really Want It To Overshadow The Main Aberration Creatures This Will Be A Mix Of A Good Land Travel Dino As Well As A Good Support Dino. UUUHH You Forgot If It Protects The Player From Radiation?? Due To The Intense Conditions Of The Red And Blue Zone, This Creature Will Definitely Protect You From Radiation (Taking Inspiration From The Magmasaur Saddle w/ It Being Bullet Resistant) Why Should I Upvote Or Even Consider Wanting This Creature In The Game?? Frankly, As A Person, Whos Played Thousands Of Hours Of PvP AND PvE. This Creature Will Have Abilities For PvE AND PvP. To Many Creatures In Past Maps Have Been STRICTLY PvP or STRICTLY PvE...SO This Will Be A Good Mix Of Both. If You Fail At Busting Out Those Moves, Taming Effectiveness Will Go Down And It will "Offer" You To Leave And Rejoin Its Dance To Get Full Effectiveness Creatures Will Be Deterred From This Dance Because Of Its Flashy Lights In Order For A Romantic Dance Experience With I
  22. Embolotherium is a very large estimated to be about 8feet tall species in the clade Brontotheriidae and was the largest of its group Brontotheriidae is a family of extinct mammals belonging to the order Perissodactyla, the order that includes horses, rhinoceroses, and tapirs. Superficially, they looked rather like rhinos, although they were actually more closely related to horses; Equidae and Brontotheriidae make up the suborder Hippomorpha it lived in North American and was found in deposits of the Oligocene Epoch (36.6 to 23.7 million years ago). In the Wild embolotherium would be a absolute units standing nearly as tall as a mammoth with the bulk to back up its monsturus size I would have it probably spawn in groups of 2 to 3 as they would be quite tanky and will defend eachother and will be hard to bring down They are quite friendly for their size as they have not many predators but when threatened they will charge what ever did it with and flatten it with their sheer mass and bulk and will hunt them down Tameing To tame such a beast you will need a huge stockpile of rockets as their hide is insanely thick and would resist most projects infused with toxins. It is just like a rockgolem standard knockout tame as it is pretty much a bigger wooly rhino but with less fur and and one strange shaped hore instead of a long sharp horn but you must be careful as the higher it's torp is the more rage it will have which buffs its speed and attack When tamed When tamed embolotherium is a power house able to go head on vs most of the apex carnivorous of the arks but will bearly scrape by most of the fights and will lose about 50% of the time it has a good amount of.speed for its size hits hard and can take a lots of punishment. It can also start a charge and when at max charge it can damage structures up to metal as its bulk and mass are so great it can do nice damage to structures. Abilities When charging embolotherium does something different it charges up a stun like a shadowmane/or trike as it gets faster the longer you run the longer the stun will last up to a maximum so that it doesn't become to op it also would have a buck ability by kicking behind it as to knock back and dangers that have got past its main weapon it can also when charging damage thatch wood Stine and metal structures it does more damage the longer the charge goes. Embolotherium also can be topped up to boost its damage and speed at the cost of its torpor it also gets a pack buff if their is more than 2 near by thx to everyone that votes
  23. General Info: Sauropelta was a nodosaurid dinosaur from Eatly Cretaceous North America. At around 20ft long and weighing 2 tons, this heavily armored dinosaur is most recognizable by its large spikes protruding from its neck and its long spiked tail. Ark Info: Common Name: Sauropelta Species: Sauropelta crepitus (crepitus is Latin for “explosion”) Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Of all the unique and bizarre creatures of this sunken world, Sauropelta crepitus is a somewhat nice chance of pass. It’s nice to finally see an animal that I can recognize from the fossil record. This herbivore is a distinct cousin of the Ankylosaurus and is also covered in heavy armored plates and spikes. However, what distinguishes Sauropelta from its relative is its lack of a tail club and the large row of spikes that run down its sides from the back of its head to its shoulders. I’ve seen few predators dare attack this spiky tank with legs, but those that do soon realize the mistake they have made. Sauropelta’s spikes are so sharp that simply bumping into one can cause deep and painful cuts. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it has the uncanny ability to “shed” this spikes on command, firing what are essentially knives in all directions at any attacker. These spikes can cut through the toughest of hide and pierce most kinds of armor. If this doesn’t deter the predator, Sauropelta has one more trick up its sleeve. By laying down on the ground and covering its legs, its armored back makes it untouchable by most predators and weaponry. Definitely not an herbivore you want to make made. Sauropelta has developed a taste for the many different types of mushrooms that grow in these giant caves. These beast are immune to the spores of even the deadliest of mushrooms and can detect them using their ken sense of smell. They absolutely love them! However, their love of the strange fungi makes them blind to danger. I’ve seen the predators of theses caves take advantage of the situation and catch these usually untouchable creatures off guard. Domesticed: How a survivor would even get close enough to one of these dinosaurs to domesticate it amazes me. It seems certain tribes have also used Sauropelta’s love of mushrooms to their advantage just like the carnivores have. By guarding the armored creature from incoming threats seems to gain the animals trust. Guide it to more patches of its favorite food and eventually, this spiky beast will become your new best friend. Although it can’t break through rocks like the Ankylosaurus, Sauropelta is an amazing animal for a survivor to have at their side. Its high carry weight make it a great beast of burden. Although it can be a bit slow, it still makes for an excellent travel companion in theses underground caverns. It’s ability to find mushrooms to make it vital if one hopes to avoid the deadly spores. Its spikes make it a very sought after mount as well. I’ve seen survivors keep a few Sauropelta around the outside of their homes to keep would be predators at bay. They have also learn that by making the dinosaur fire its spikes at the ground around it, they can create a protective layer of spikes around themselves. The spikes will cut through any creature that dares to get too close. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sauropelta would be a mid to late game tame with good weight, good damage, high health but low stamina and speed. Players would tame them by leading the dinosaur to patches of mushrooms and protect it from predators while it eats. Its spikes would cause bleed if the Sauropelta is attacked or if it’s attacking and enemy. The dinosaur also has the ability to shoot it spikes off its back similar to the Amargasaurs spikes that cause AOE damage around it. It would also have a turret mode were it will both act as a spiked wall and fire it’s spikes at targets. (All images are from Wikipedia)
  24. i find a nice submission from the Fjördur vote from PuutyCuuty and will post it her again Species: Hippocampus Sarmaticus/Leviathan Time: Middle Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive I feel Ark's oceans need a bit of love. Another cool option would be some kind of underwater breath attack.
  25. (Rough doodle by Me) Pentaceratops, a massive ceratopsian with an even larger head. High health and high damage, this beast of a tame would allow its rider and anything behind it to go unscathed from the front, but remember to watch your rear as you would still be exposed to enemy attacks. Its heavily keratinized face allows P. imperialis to take little to no damage from attacks to its head, making it the perfect frontliner for a siege on a base or a boss fight. Along with this Pentaceratops could have a taunt like that of the magmasaur, drawing aggro so allies may finish off targets. Ability 1: Stance change As the name implies, this would be a stance change. Think something like how Amarga can change its spikes. These stances would be shown via a change in color on markings on its frill. Defensive Stance: Pentaceratops lowers its massive head, blocking incoming damage for the rider and any tames behind its massive frill. While in this stance its movement speed is greatly decreased, while its turning circle is reduced greatly, allowing it to keep its head to the enemy. Damage to the head in this stance would heal Pentaceratops for a fraction of what the damage value was, so keep that in mind when fighting these beasts. While in this stance its attacks would deal increased knockback and decreased damage, letting it create space for allies. Offensive Stance: Pentaceratops swings its head forward, its massive beak and horns ready to attack. In this stance Pentaceratops deals increased damage, but also takes increased damage, so use it sparingly. Movement speed in this stance is increased, with its turning circle being increased as well. Neutral Stance: No stat changes, base wild stance. Ability 2: Back Kick/180* swipe Since Pentaceratops woud be fairly vulnerable from behind, it only makes sense that it should have an answer to this. While in Defensive Stance, Pentaceratops would have a back kick. This attack would deal very little damage along with moderate knockback. While in Offensive Stance Pentaceratops gains a 180 degree swipe, this ability would have a significant cooldown as the drawback of offensive stance is the very wide turn radius, but would allow for Penta to get a pesky rex on its rear end if needed. This attack would deal heavy damage and perhaps apply a wound to the target. Ability 3: Taunt Pentaceratops lets out a loud roar, stamping its feet on the ground and shaking its massive frill in a threat display. This taunt would function like the magmasaur, drawing aggro to Penta so it or its allies can finish them off. Other Proposals; AKA Stuff I thought of but am iffy on Stomp: Would function like other stomps in the game, dealing high damage and some knockback. Indimidating roar: Much like Yutyrannus, this roar would scare off animals the same size and smaller than Penta. Platform Saddle: Maybe give it a platform saddle, I can live without this though.
