as an giant herrerasaurus adaptis is a great mount.herrerasaurus adaptis or herrera for short is a predator to all gasbags as there bladder is needed to make there poison.herrera can smell a gasbag as far as five miles away and its poison can even kill the element if given enough.herreras tongue has a sharp piece at the end of it that can be used as a spear.taming herrerasaurus adaptis is a mountain of a task.first you have to kill one to get its eye.then you have to combine it with a gasbag bladder to make a bladder broth.next feed it to a gasbag so when a herrera attacks it will get drunk.last feed it some gasbag bladder or some element then you have a herrerasaurus.

All art made by me! My creature is the Thoracopterus , a giant flying fish. The creature itself in real life wasn't much bigger than a modern flying fish, but this is ark, and the Rhyniognatha is a thing. It is big enough to ride, say Sarco length, and design wise if you have seen avatar 2 with the giant flying fish that they ride, it's lightly (but not entirely) inspired by them. Also, unlike literally every other creature submission, mine is not a 'giga counter but_________' it is unique and has a purpose. Abilities: - It can skim across the top of the water just like real life flying fish, tip of the tail in the water, top half out of water - You can use weaponry on it without having to enter first person mode, as long as you're not underwater - it can launch itself extremely high out of the water into a flight/ glide mix, gliding through the air but also flapping it's 'wings' occasionally to travel up - it can breathe oxygen indefinitely, but requires water every now and then to keep it hydrated, but the hydration does slowly go down, so luckily to now not have to stay near water at all times it has 8 water canteen slots on it's saddle, which fill up it's water meter when it's low, and can be manually refilled by hand, or all automatically refill upon contact with water, as well as it's water meter. - it can 'run' on land at about the speed of a parasaur, if not slower, which is uncanny because it moves on land by sort of shuffling and jumping forward, but to get airborne again it simply just does a leap into the sky and continues gliding - like the griffin, it has a divebomb/ swoop it can do while gliding, and if you dive into deep enough water from a high enough height it can stun nearby creatures - it can shoot water out of it's mouth like some species of fish, to dismount players off birds up to up to the size of an argy, stunning it if it is wild, at the cost of either being in water or using one of it's eight water pouches - it's 'wings' glow, and can produce a glowing dye that is by default white, but when mixed with any other dye becomes a glowing version of that color - immune to jellyfish/ eel shocks - counter shaded. not really an ability, just an adaptation that ocean predators often have for camouflage - like a dolphin, it can echolocate, highlighting all creatures in the area similar to the desmodus, but with further range underwater )because sound travels farther underwater) - weight reduction on raw fish meat by 75%, silica pearls by 25% all dyes by 50% hide and chitin and keratin by 50% angler gel by 25% and metal by 75% - it is not aggro'd by any sea creatures, excluding mosas and plesis So there you go. A midgame mount, good for pve & pvp, that isn't insanely overpowered, relatively fast, actually unique, so it's good for travel and would probably be used regardless of where you are in the game. Also it doesn't fit the description of 'just give _______ a tlc! This is it without any saddles This is the tek saddle (currently updating it to look closer to the new head model) Tek additional abilities: -A charged super bite attack (like shadowmane) -Legs to run mush faster on land, no longer having to lean on it's wings, now at the speed of a deinonychus -A jet to fly significantly faster in the air, and underwater -top and belly armour to take reduced damage on the top and belly, but still taking damage as normal from it's side Dossier- wild Something seems amiss with this creature. It's not just the size or the eerie uncanniness; it's the unsettling feeling that it simply shouldn't be. The anomalies are too pronounced to ignore; one could say the evidence points to genetic manipulation, but by whom and for what purpose, I cannot say. The Thoracopterus, as I've come to call it, defies conventional classification, blurring the lines between land, air, and water with an unsettling ease. This beast possesses an ability akin to that of dolphins, using echolocation to sense and locate anything within its vicinity. A sensory prowess usually reserved for marine life, yet this creature carries it with an unsettling confidence. But the strangeness does not end there. The Thoracopterus is no mere fish, for it can venture onto land and relentlessly pursue its prey. Escaping its pursuit is a futile endeavor; cliffs and parachutes offer no refuge, as it can pursue its quarry in the air with relentless determination. The creature's enigmatic intelligence adds to its eerie nature. It seems to comprehend danger, avoiding projectiles with an unsettling, almost preternatural awareness. Attempting to ward it off may prove only momentarily effective, for once it locks onto a target, it will persist until either the prey or itself meets its end. Moreover, the Thoracopterus possesses an astonishing leaping ability, scaling heights that defy reason, rendering the advantage of higher ground obsolete. Dossier- Domesticated tamed I stand astounded by the audacity of those who dare to tame such an enigmatic beast. The taming process, an underwater rodeo of sorts, is a perilous endeavor where merely holding on is a feat unto itself, given the Thoracopterus' unparalleled speed. Yet, for those intrepid souls who triumph in this endeavor, they will find themselves blessed with the ultimate traveling companion. Tamed, the Thoracopterus showcases its multifaceted nature, becoming an unparalleled asset in both PvE and PvP scenarios. A master of the aquatic realm, it navigates the waters with astonishing speed, becoming a swift and reliable underwater steed for any survivor seeking rapid aquatic exploration. But it doesn't end there. On land, the Thoracopterus runs with an almost inexplicable grace, defying expectations with its ability to move on terra firma. This incredible agility allows it to cover ground like a blur, making it an ideal choice for scouting missions and daring escapes from adversaries. The creature's flight capability elevates its prowess even further. In the face of a daunting confrontation with a formidable player and their powerful dinos, the Thoracopterus offers a unique advantage. With your weapons drawn and securely positioned on its back, you can unleash a torrent of firepower upon your foes, all while maintaining a stable third-person view. Yet, when a swift retreat becomes the need of the hour, the Thoracopterus becomes the ultimate escape artist. Its leaping ability propels it to unimaginable heights, from where it can gracefully glide away, leaving pursuers far below in awe and wonder. Adding to its mystique, this extraordinary creature produces a peculiar glowing dye, which, when mixed with any regular dye, transforms the colours into an eerie luminescence. The resulting spectacle can only be described as otherworldly, adding a touch of the fantastical to any survivor's creations. Proof it's a real extinct creature ^ How it would skim across water ^

abilities: m1 bleed effect, m2 charged bite attack that builds more damage the longer it's held (with a pack of 4 max.) You gain 15% bonus damage reduction, speed, and attack boost. While holding shift, you can leap out of the water to gain a huge amount of distance. To be tamed, you would have to ride on its back for a certain amount of time. It'll eat out of your hot bar but will not gain taming effectiveness; it'll prevent it from eating you (they spawn in packs, so beware if you're solo). To breed, they'd act like your average dino on land; they just lay their eggs in the sand like modern-day sea turtles. That's all. Please vote for Dakosaurus if you find it cool for the center. ❤️😄

Babibasiliscus - The item collecting Speedboat of ARK
Actionskank posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Welcome to my reworked creature submission. (Original submission will be removed based on rule issues.) Note: This is mainly a place holder to guage the interest of the submission, with artwork and additional info being added depending on engagement. Babibasiliscus are the ancestors of today's Jesus Christ lizard thats adorned with it's large iconic headcrest. A creature that prefers life near sources of water where it can pick up smaller creatures and vegetation to eat in the safety of its own domain but at the first sign of danger, will rapidly run across bodies of water where predators will have a hard time chasing them down. Habitat: Wild Babibasiliscus are omnivorous and prefer quiet bodies of water with plenty of fish, small creatures and or vegetation and can be seen frequently going back and forth, collecting it's meal to eat in peace or feed it's mate. Taming: A tame which has different methods for both sexes. Males - You would first have to sneak up and find out it's craving food, once fed and the lizards trust has been gained it will follow you around and require you to kill and leave carcasses for it to eat, any large creatures, damage, or lack of things to eat will scare the creature away and lower taming affectiveness. Females - Generally found nesting and looking for mates, and are always looking for the flashiest of creatures to pair up with. As such, a collection of dyes will be needed to tame them. On a slow approach to a female they will raise their head to guage the survivors intentions and ask for a colour, on knowing the colour, you need to quickly paint a piece of your armor to that colour to appease her, extra taming affinity is determined by tech progression of your equipped gear (Cloth lowest, Tek highest. I.e. the Shinier the better!) Using the wrong colour, applying too late or being scared off will lower taming affinity. Tamed: The lizard is comfortable living in all biomes and has very little offensive capabilities but more than makes up for it with its speed and agility to get out of bad situations or in a pinch it relies on the player to pick off enemies from its back with a stabilized roller saddle that allows the player to look and attack from every angle whilst mounted. Abilities: (Although none are guaranteed it will make it to game.) Bi/Quadrupedal - Quad for brisk land cruising Bi for running from danger Radiation immune - Being found in the three main areas of Aberration the lizard has become adapted to the harsh conditions of the red zone without fear of radiation damage. (Can still be damaged being submerged in liquid element.) Water runner/swimmer - The lizards iconic feature, being able to run bipedal over water and liquid element at high speed, gaining a buff like spinos from water sources which can also be taken to land. It is also a decent swimmer thanks to its large paddle tail. Item collector - With its natural instinct of grabbing and relocating it's food to safer areas, the lizard is able to pick up single static items such as eggs, dead bodies, bags, dropped items, artifacts (Able to hold a second artifact.) and loot drops to different locations so a survivor can collect said items in much safer areas. Tic tac - An ability that allows the lizard to jump from one surface to another in order to reach places it normally couldn't. (I originally wanted a climbing creature but didn't want to overshadow the Rockdrakes so a parkour style wall to wall jump is what I ultimately decided on.) I hope you like the ideas in my submission although I understand that my vision for the creature may not be for everybody. I'm always open to critique and constructive criticism, so if you see something that you think would work better or better fitting, then please let me know in the comments. Basilisk lizard - AKA The Jesus Christ lizard

Welcome to my first ever submission and post! Note: This is mainly a place holder to guage the interest of the submission, with artwork and additional info being added depending on engagement. Ichtyovenator, The Sand-Swimming Spinosaurid
BetterCallBalls posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Dossier Species: Ichtyovenator Laosensis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivorous Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Ichtyovenator is a highly adapted predator that lives in the deserts of Scorched Earth. What sets it apart from other dinosaurs is its ability to swim through the sand like it can swim through water. It uses its powerful legs and tail to move quickly through the sand, making it a highly efficient hunter. Domesticated: Domestication of Ichtyovenator is not recommended due to its highly aggressive and territorial nature. Attempts to tame this beast have resulted in numerous injuries and fatalities. If you must engage with an Ichtyovenator, be sure to use extreme caution. Known Information: Ichtyovenator is an apex predator that will stop at nothing to catch its prey. It uses its keen sense of smell to detect prey from a distance and will pursue it relentlessly until it is caught. Its ability to swim through the sand makes it a highly efficient hunter and allows it to catch even the fastest prey. Unfortunately, Ichtyovenator is not invincible. It is vulnerable to larger predators and can also fall victim to diseases and parasites. As such, it must always be on the lookout for danger, even as it stalks its own prey. Description: The Ichtyovenator is a medium-to-large-sized Spinosaurid that lives near and in the Dunes of Scorched Earth. It can swim swiftly in both water and sand. It has a keen sense of smell that allows it to detect other creatures and players in an area. It is very fast and agile. It can turn a full 180⁰ in just about a second and can drift like the Andrewsarchus. In the wild, they'll usually be in the sand, but sometimes they'll be wandering. Taming Method: The Ichtyovenator has a unique taming method that uses 2 of its abilities- its sand swimming and its pounce. To do this, you have to lure the Ichtyovenator you want to tame near a wall (must be Adobe or better) and then make it pounce at the wall. If successful, it will hit its head and be damaged and inflicted with torpor. (Adobe inflicts the least torpor but deals no damage, and will eventually break, Stone inflicts medium amount of torpor but does a medium amount of damage, steel inflicts alot of torpor but also deals a lot of damage) After it is knocked out, just feed it like any other knock-out tame. Its preferred food is Superior Kibble. Special abilities: While standing on sand, it can go into it by pressing X While in sand, jump to get out of it While in sand, press X to pounce in a certain direction (the pounce deals damage and stuns dinos smaller than a rex) https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichthyovenator-

oviraptor Citipati also known as "big mama".
munchmunch posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
This oviraptor is found roaming the deserts hunting for small food to survive. Personality- These creatures are as tall as 9ft. The citipati is a very caring creature, often seen with a big nest full of an assortment of eggs. Or an unusual mix of creatures it has imprinted with and nurtured to form a small herd. These creatures would rather sacrifice themselves then see the young die. Using it's skills to attract the attacking creature and forcing them to follow the citipati away from the young. Because the citipati is still an oviraptor they love to steal eggs and add them to there nest to care for. If they do end up over whelmed with young or eggs they will often move the baby to a new place where it can be cared for by others. Every Herd Is willing to assist with each other, taking in babies or eggs others cant tend to and helping during Creatures invading the nests if nearby Other Citipati will jump in to help. You will often see many small nest around, this just means more help if needed down the road for the Citipati. Gender Differences- Often male citipati are smaller but speedier and often much brighter colors, they are usually the ones out collecting food for the herd. Female citipati are much bigger with larger tail feathers, often dull colors to blend into the environment. They are often found keeping the young together and protecting them. Out of the two, females are often the ones most aggressive but if the female does die the male will move the herd to a new area to find a new mate to protect the young or joining nests nearby. The citipati herd itself without any other species they collect, consist of one female and many males. Combat Strafing- With a light weight body and feathers to help push that thin body around, riders can command an agile strafe while in combat or on the move to doge attacks or objects in the way. Long range attack- Riders can store a verity of small items that the citipati can then use to shoot at enemies, a helpful tool when aggroing a creature away from a location! Depending on the item shot this can allow different outcomes. This includes rocks which can increase torpor per hit. With enough shooting at once this will force enemies to retreat due to being overwhelmed. Blindness- The citipati love to utilize the environment around them. quickly using their tails to fling sand into the eyes of enemies that get to close. Aggro Producer- These creatures when needed will charge at enemies and do a tail swipe, this angering the target and forcing them to attack the Citipati over any other creature. Tamed- When tamed this creature is one of the best to protect other tames more so babies, these creatures are best at getting attention and leading creatures away, then being able to lose the target thanks to its agile movement, gliding abilities and long range shooting. Untamed- The Citipati is a timid creature, often watching from afar and staying clear of harmful creatures, but when near a nest of one they change how they act quick! the Females Take charge and use all they have to take aggro to the invader, shooting at them until they take chase, they then run off with the enemies moving them away from the nest taking advantage of the terrain and environment to trick the enemy as well as trap them so that they cant come back this often being cliffs that the target can fall off of. As the males of the herd form a defense circle around the young, though smaller then the female this will not stop them from attacking anything that comes near, They have numbers after all and they will utilize that as much as possible, unionizing shooting scare off enemies. Utility Riding- Thanks to the thin body and small feathers they are able to glide short distances, the thin bodies allow fast movement and agile way to strafe when needed. Gliding- Thanks to there feathers both tail and arms this allows gliding, giving them a quick retreat when needed. Turret- being a turret that can shoot stores ammo at creatures, doing so with multiple can overwhelm targets and keep them away, more are needed to overwhelm bigger carnivores. Tame Helping- Thanks to its smart ability to imprint and caring nature on many different creatures, citipati is a great helper when taming, while taming citipati will watch you feed creatures and then mimic what you did as well as imprint your scent onto the creature and soothing it. The Citipati due to its Great tactics, it is able to aggro any who wish to harm the creature and chase it off. coming back after the chase to continue the taming care. because of its different shooting items, this creature can apply torpor depending on the ammo, this helps greatly and blend well with its agile nature to help with taking a creature down. How to Tame Citipati-due to there timid nature its hard to catch one but they are smart and if they don't see ill intentions to their young they will start to take a liking to you. Simply put wearing a ghilie and leaving food at nests will allow them to see you as a friend then after helping raise a baby to adult hood will allow you to tame the female, this entail means petting babies around the female or manually feeding them, as she sees you as part of the herd. For the males they are very loyal to the female of the herd and will not be tamed with out one, simply taming a female and then in turn throwing food to a male while mounted on the female, will entice them to join your herd instead. while mounted on a female the males will not run from you. Both cannot just be knocked out and tamed, they are far to smart and loyal to just give up on their herd. The citipati wiki and art concept that gave me the ideas! Thanks for reading and sorry for possible word soup. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citipati -
VANCLEAVEA-The Wasteland's Worst...
EDGYDROMAEOSAURID posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
I'll leave a brief summary here and add more as the submission vote goes on longer but it's Pretty much a Viper/Nile monitor cross it'll be a non aggressive scavenger comparable with with fast paced dps tames it's main trait being maneuverability being able to jolt backwards and slide down dunes at rapid speeds with its lanky body style and ofcourse its venom which works slowly over time but is highly potent. Vancleavea but trades the dps that most tames of its build have in their main attacks for a slow building venom instead Vancleavea's initial venom won't do anything at first except notifying the rider they've been bitten but if the animal's wounds open up more and you're spending alot of stam on said animal they'll eventually shorten on stam until they can go into a complete paralysis mode takes a little while tho, you'd have to be careful on how many hits you tank if you're inflicted with the venom it'll give a reason for people to play their cards right and use their animals sparingly. The Thunderbird (dromornis) THE BIGGEST BIRD
Draconic456 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
I think the Thunderbird would be a great addition to ark. It could be a new travel mount for both speed and damage. Along with its speed it can also deliver powerful bone breaking kicks with its large legs administering the bleeding effect. The thunderbird would be better than the terror bird and be about as large as a Carno. It would be able to get stone and wood with kicks from it powerful legs. It would be aggressive and introduce a new way of passive taming where you would have to tire it out by making it chase you and then feed it when it lays down giving up. A special move it could have is to stomp on the ground producing a thunderous sound either scaring or stunning dinos. it would spawn i the redwoods and is a herbivore. Larger carnivores will be drawn to attack this bird as they find it delicious. ITS THE BIGGEST BIRD- 2 replies

Sauropelta - the nimble allrounder - now with dossier!
Naitho posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Features: versatile and relatively speedy mid-game mount equipped for combat and harvesting ressources alike tailswipe that cripples and bleeds out smaller to medium creatures as well as harvests berries and wood rigid neck spikes can temporarily cripple and slow large creatures, allowing for easy escapes or stalling time for other attackers optional battle-sling saddle - usefull for taming and skirmishes alike, a sling attachment can be added to the neck spikes of sauropelta, which can chuck everything from rocks, bolas, arrows (including tranq arrows) and all kinds of grenades to even harpoons Dossier: (a full on dossier is currently in the works and will be posted when its finished at a later point in time) Diet: herbivorous Temper: situational Habitat: open grasslands and woodlands Wild: Sauropelta is the smaller, less bulky cousin of the islands imposing ankylosaurus. Unlike its larger cousin sauropelta can be found browsing the islands grasslands but shuns the rugged mountainsides its relative seems to be so fond of. Despite its relatively lighter armor, sauropelta still packs a considerable punch. Usually calm and docile until provoked, strikes from its sawblade like tail can cut through flesh and bone alike, making you think twice before picking a fight with a pair of them. I swear, I've even seen one cleave through a tree in the heat of a raptor ambush once. Despite being able to hold itself quite well against small to medium sized creatures, sauropelta prefers to make a speedy escape upon facing larger threats. In order to ensure a safe escape, one of the pair will often charge towards the attacker, plunging its long neck spines into the would-be pursuers legs, effectively crippling them for the time being, before taking off into the same direction of its partner. Domesticated: A tamed sauropelta makes for a versatile mount and travel-buddy that can safely get you out of most dangerous situations. Its armor and rigid tail can ward off most attackers and the ones that can't be dealt with this way, it can outrun. Apart from being a great defensive tool, sauropeltas tail can gather a plethora of berries and wood. Until recently I considered sauropelta as a mere travel mount, but a chance encounter with a tribe changed my whole view on it. During my stay at a tribe that's mostly kept medium sized herbivores, we became the target of travelling raiders. In the face of their rexes and other large carnivores the situation seemed hopeless, but the clever usage of their sauropelta saved our lives that day. Charging into battle, using the same method wild sauropelta apply to ensure their escape, a few of the villages mounted warriors harassed and crippled the larger attackers. At the same time a bunch of new sauropelta rolled up, the villagers ingeniously having attached launchers to their neck spines, hauling arrows, boulders and everything but the kitchen sink at the attackers from afar, keeping them under fire for long enough to eventually retreat. I'm wondering if the same method could be useful for taming? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauropelta
