Shaihuludia Shurikeni - The gigantic wasteland worm!
Goredeus posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Yet again a creature vote crept up on me so no dossier this time! Shaihuludia is a gigantic worm that lives out in the wastelands on earth. to protect itself from harmful solar radiation wild Shaihuludia often cover themselves with various plants and minerals they find. occasionally they may get into an element node covering themselves in it protecting themselves from the corrupted but making them a target for daring survivors looking for element! When tamed Shaihuludia can be equipped with various heavy saddles due to its affinity with covering itself. Lightweight primitive saddle 1 rider 3 passenger seating with low defense can fully burrow Advanced saddle 1 rider 3 flak turrets offers great protection but turrets can only be controlled by passengers can partially burrow Tek saddle 1 rider 6 tek turrets great defense requires element to operate turrets can be controlled by rider and passengers grants flight it high element cost cannot burrow Controls Lmb - bite Shaihuludia everts it's pharynx using its jaws to snap in front of it dealing significant damage. Can be used to turn in place but has a longer wind up. Ctrl - burrow Shaihuludia burrows into the ground only exposing it's back and head. While underground Shaihuludia can move more quickly but uses more stamina. If Shaihulida uses a lightweight primitive saddle they will burrow underground completely. Shaihuludia cannot burrow with a tek saddle equipped. Space bar (underground, prim saddle) - lunge After a short delay Shaihuludia bursts from the ground into the air into a controlled fall. Deals extreme knockback and high damage to enemies as well as stunning fliers. If this attack kills an enemy Shaihuludia gains a health regen buff. Spacebar (tek saddle) - take off Enables Shaihuludias tek saddle thrusters allowing slow flight at a high element cost. Rmb (tek saddle) - fire Fires Shaihuludias tek turrets. Uses a hitscan laser projectile like Astrodelphis. Common name: Koolasuchus Species: Koolasuchus Caementus Time: Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Ambushing Wild: Koolasuchus Caementus is the largest amphibian on the island and also the most gluttonous creature i have seen so far in the ark, sporting sizes of those of spinosaurus. It inhabits freshwater areas, being more commonly found in rivers where it ambush his preys..... These creatures stays buried in the riverbed almost all his life. Being the only sign of his pressence a column of bubbles that emerges from the riverbed. This titanic amphibian eats his prey whole, the creature opens his maws so quickly that it causes a vortex of water that leads his preys directly to his mouth. Like moderns abyssal fish Koolasuchus Caementus can double or triple the size of his stomach in order to eat preys that are even bigger than him, this sometimes leads to koolasuchus sofocating due to the extreme size of his prey. These creatures are so gluttonous that they eat everything that gets in his way, causing them to eat valuable resources, armors, weapons, etc.... Some survivor hunt them to get these valuable resources. Domesticated: When domesticated Koolasuchus Caementus proves itself as an excellent siege and support creature. It can swallow allies to save them from dangerous situations or, it can swallow enemy mounts or survivors!!!, but this incredible ability comes with his drawbacks, if Koolasuchus has swallowed an enemy or a ally, it becomes sluggish and more susceptible to damage. Also Koolasuchus can fill his stomach with acid and then it can shoot that acid as a mortar, disolving through metal structures and gear. But as said, Koolasuchus Caementus comes with probably his biggest drawback, Koolasuchus has to be wet most of the time or his skin will become fragile....... Now lets explain everything in detail: Taming: Koolasuchus can be found in freshwater areas of the map (specially in the Aberration areas of extinction) and is a passive tame, the only sign of his pressence would be a colum of bubbles that emerges from the riverbed, in order to make Koolasuchus emerge from the riverbed you will have to carefully place honey in front of him, or you will ruin the taming (i will explain this later), when Koolasuchus has emerged from the riverbed it will start to swim around, sometimes it will open his mouth, is then when you have to swim to his mouth and feed it with his favourite food honey or prime fish meat (I haven't deciced yet), after sometime you will have a tamed Koolasuchus. Now i will explain the two states of wild Koolasuchus: - Aggresive Mode: If you come to close to Koolasuchus when is buried in the riverbed, it will start attacking you, so you have to be extra careful when placing honey in front of him, when Koolasuchus is aggressive it can't be tamed, this means Koolasuchus will not reset, and will be aggressive for all eternity, disabling taming forever. But when this state is activated, Koolasuchus will drop valuable resources when killed like said in the dossier (The rarity, number of items and the value of the items will depend on Koolasuchus level). - Taming Mode: This state is activated when Koolasuchus have been unearthed from the riverbed with honey. As said Koolasuchus will start to swim around the area opening his mouth casually, letting the survivor to feed it and tame it. Fragile Mode: This state is activated when Koolasuchus dryes, the survivor will know the humidity of Koolasuchus thanks to a bar similar to giganotosaurus rage bar. When the bar reaches 0, Koolasuchus will dry, making it more succepteable to dmg and torpor, also slowing it greatly. You can recover humidity by going in water with Koolasuchus. But thanks to Koolasuchus special saddle you can carry water like a canteen, waterskin or water jar. This specialized saddle lets you carry great amounts of water that can be used to hydrate Koolasuchus when needed. This saddle lets the survivor rehydrate Koolasuchus up to 3 times. Abilities and attacks: - Left Click: Bite - Right Click: Swallow, Koolasuchus will swallow one enemy or ally, when Koolasuchus has swallowed anything his stomach will expand making him more vulnerable to all sorts of weapons and attacks, and also slowing Koolasuchus. If Koolasuchus swallows an ally, the ally will be save in Koolasuchus stomach, preventing it from receiving any damage (maybe it also heals allies inside his stomach???), to regurgigate the ally right click again, the ally can also free himself by clicking multiple times. When Koolasuchus has swallowed an enemy, the enemy inside Koolasuchus will start to receive damage gradually, the only way to scape Koolasuchus stomach is by punching from the inside of his stomach, when enough damage is deal Koolachus will regurgitate the enemy. Koolasuchus can also swallow allied and enemy mounts. - Space bar( Mortar mode): Koolasuchus will fill his stomach with acid, making it more vulnerable, and preventing it from moving. When this mode is activated, the rider of Koolasuchus will be granted a bird's-eye-view (like exo-mek). When this is activated Koolasuchus can launch acid balls to a determined position, making tons of damage to metal structures and gear, this attack is also capable of damaging tek structures. To cancel mortar mode press space bar again. To not make mortar mode OP in offline raiding (credits to Mangost for the idea) I've thought of two ways to make Koolasuchus fair for everyone, the first way would be that in order to shoot acid balls Koolasuchus would need a new item called Koolasuchus acid, this item would be passively generated inside Koolasuchus inventory each 30 minutes or so, this item would be stackeable. The second way would be that for each acid ball that Koolasuchus shoots it would lower its food stat, something like daedon with healing allies. - Pressing C(Acid ball and acid pool): When pressing c, a bar will start to fill, when filled totally Koolasuchus will fire a short distance acid ball, that deals less damage than mortar mode. If this ability is cancelled while charging Koolasuchus will make an acid pool around him, preventing melee enemies or mounts to attack him. (Some Concept art of Koolasuchus) And thats my submission, ark needs more Amphibians go team Koola. Also, if you reached this part, let me be clear, i had a bunch of creatures prepared for the next vote, but i had a mayor flaw, all the creatures i designed are marine, so i just had to recycle the old Koolasuchus submission. I even had the full drawn digitally dossiers. Let's hope Koola wins this time, it would be such a shame not having Koolasuchus in the game. We have no giant prehistoric amphibians representation. Also, i could have posted Mastodonsaurus (old submission of mine), but Mastodonsaurus being a giant siege beast just like the titans would be kinda odd in a way, idk how to explain myself really. BYEEEE!!!!

(original dossier art and description by: unknown) (NOTE: The species in the dossier is Palaeoloxodon cantusamanus, but I'm using it as a basis for Palaeoloxodon namadicus, due to the fact there are several large identified species of the said genus.) (Dossier art description, with contraries of what I will add to it below it) Common name: Palaeoloxodon Species: Palaeoloxodon cantusamanus* ("namadicus" for submission) Time: Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperment: Territorial Wild: The largest mammal on the island by far, I find it fascinating that Palaeoloxodon cantusamanus (namadiscus) has eluded me for so long. Though essentially an oversized elephant, the padding in its feer keeps it silent as it navigates its jungle home - until angered. Content to live a solitary lifestyle, these pachyderms will charge if approached. Fortunately, some survivors have found that music soothes these savage beasts - music from and instrument will literally have Palaeoloxodon eating out of your hands! Domesticated: Because of its aggressive tendencies, Palaeoloxodon is a poor gatherer, and mounting a platform saddle on one is difficult. Some tribes instead fit their mount with a saddle equiped with wardrums - playing music as they ride into battle! In a fight, Palaeoloxodon packs a wallop, especially when inspired by the music of its rider. Music pushes it to take more punishment, attack faster, and charge right though enemies! My additions to the creature In addition to its wild behavior and taming method through music as in the original artist's dossier, my idea for Palaeoloxodon namadicus is it being a walking fortress like any platform saddle dino. BUT, unlike the platform saddles, this thing's one and only saddle is a pre-built fortress akin to the elephants from lord of the rings. The mammoth already has a saddle with war drums on it via the TLC 3 update a couple years ago. So, how about using it to your advantage to tame this creature as in the dossier? Real world context Palaeoloxodon namadicus - Wikipedia Palaeoloxodon namadicus is thought to be the largest known terrestrial mammal to have ever walked the earth, from the Indian subcontinent of the mid to late Pleistocene. It is also estimated to be the largest species of the genus that is composed of a few other large species, as well as plenty of dwarf-sized species.

(Art not by me) The Jonkeria was a massive synapsid from the Permian era, growing up to 11.5 feet in length and weighing almost 500 pounds this creature was certainly one you would not want to mess with. Since synapsids are a very unrepresented group in ark even though they're a very diverse and interesting group, I thought it would be fitting to suggest one for this competition. Wild Behavior In the wild Jonkeria can be found roaming the mountains of scorched earth with a couple moschops buddies, however despite the fact they group with the peaceful moschops does not mean they are peaceful too, in fact they are quite aggressive when you get too close to their herd or when you try to tame one of the moschops in said herd, in summary if you see a Jonkeria in the wild, do not get close to it unless if you are trying to tame it. Taming Just like the moschops following them, the Jonkeria has a very similar taming method to the moschops however you cannot just one up to one and tame it like the moschops due to their aggression, instead you must sneak behind them in a ghillie suit and then you can feed them, but once fed you must run away quickly as they will become aggressive, thankfully they aren’t that fast. After repeating this process with different foods, you will have tamed the Jonkeria. Uses When Tamed When tamed the Jonkeria has many uses, first of all they are great gatherers being able to easily gather desert materials like sand, clay and silk with ease, they can also gather most of the resources a normal moschops would be able gather as well. Secondly they are a siege mount, their large bodys makes them perfect for destroying structures making them do extra damage to structures as opposed to damage on other creatures. Finally they are able to command moschops to do things for you, their harvest roar will tell tamed moschops to gather anything in a nearby range while their aggression roar will make moschops attack anything without the need of riding them (for those who don’t know if you command a moschops to attack something they will just run around frantically and attack nothing.) In summary I think the Jonkeria could be an excellent addition to ark and its deserts with it’s many uses it has and could even give the moschops more uses instead of just being an early game mount and a good harvester.
