Vulpes quizhudingi - the loot digging Pliocene Fox
TheIronWolf45 posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
Name: Pliocene Fox Species: Vulpes quizhudingi Time: Pliocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Skittish to Curious Wild: Found around their Direwolf cousins, Vulpes quizhudingi is a more skittish yet curious vulpine, having survived the harshest of winters and arctic biomes. Notoriously little thieves as they steal food from unsuspecting survivors, and can make off with incomparable speed. They are extremely sought for pelt, as they can grow their fur to become warmer, but shed their fur in warmer climates. Taming: If a fox gets curious enough to walk up to a survivor, they can take advantage of the moment and feed it, though it will take off to eat before coming back for more. Repeating this process makes the fox more comfortable to be around the survivor to be petted. Domesticated: With a fox, their fluffy coats are heavily insulated and can act like a shoulder "scarf", helping struggle through the absolute zero temperatures of many arctic biomes. If fed special kibble or allowed to kill smaller animals, the fox may locate a digging spot and excavate whatever was left behind, such as weapons and armor. If your fox becomes too hot in warmer environments, you can use scissors to cut their fur down to help maintain their happiness. They are also very good at repelling smaller critters like the Microraptor and even the thieving seagulls. Like their Direwolf cousins, the Vulpes can sniff the area for death caches. These little foxes have also a strange mutual relationship to soothe the aggression of Direwolves with their playful sounds. A survivor having one on their shoulder should no longer fear wolves attacking it on sight, and should the player and their fox in danger, the Vulpes will cry out for help any nearby wild Direwolves and summon them to stop the attack. ARK Meta: Shoulder Insulation: In especially colder environments, the Arctic fox can keep survivors warm, depending how much its fur has grown back from a shedding. If you and your fox get too hot, be sure to cut their fur with scissors so you can still take it with you. Loot Digger: Similar to the ARK-aeology event with the fossil dig spots, when you feed foxes eggs, the fox can track random dig spots that occur around the world, eventually excavating a dog spot for the survivors to take whatever items was dug up. In PVP, the fox can really help you find loot crates buried in the ground, if chances are they are inaccessible due to many tribes taking them over, not solely relying on one specific position, making loot tracking wherever you'd like. Depending on the egg you feed the fox, from basic to large eggs, will range in whatever items your fox will dig up in quality, basic eggs to common items, large eggs to become a random chance to be an ascendant loot dig. Stealth Pouncer/Anti-Thief: Like its modern counterpart, the Vulpes can pounce on smaller creatures such as dodos, glowpets and even the Microraptor. The fox can also pounce at incoming thieving dinosaurs like the Pegomastax and Ichthyornis when you least expect it, or even stop bugs who dare come too close. Scent Tracker/Silent Alarm: Like their Direwolf cousins, they can sniff the area around for potential threats and alert the players if a large predator or another survivor is nearby. (suggestion by PyroAnimus) Canidae Ally + Passive Taming: While a player rides around with a Vulpes on their shoulder, Direwolves and Ravagers will no longer attack the player or their tames within a certain radius. This will also grant the player an option to passively tame Direwolves and Ravagers similar to passive taming Gigantopithecus, should they not be provoked. Vulpes will also grant an ally buff to any tamed Direwolves, Ravagers, Fenrirs and Armadoggos, a canid pack strength. (OPTIONAL) Biome variants: Red Fox - Redwood forests, grasslands, highlands Fennec Fox - Desert, arid regions- 1 reply

JEHOLOPTERUS The Multi-Tool Pterosaur - DOSSIER
Daspisnewrex posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
JEHOLOPTERUS Are you tired of having to grind bosses to power your generators? Are you tired of having to get to high places to glide? Are you tired of raptors coming out of nowhere and killing you? Do you want a new best friend that loves you back? well, look no further with the Jeholopterus, a small pterosaur who can be found in the mountainous and snowy areas of Valguero. These little guys love nothing then to become friends with anything it can, however that doesn't mean these guys are ONLY good friends, being able to be used as a NATURAL climbing pick, a wind scaling creature, a player defense creature AND being able to produce an element like gel that has 50% of the properties of element, while not able to craft items with the gel, weapons, armor, saddles and general structures are able to be charged with this special gel. Jeholopterus also adds a WHOLE new mechanic called "wind typhoons" small but powerful gusts of wind that these little guys leave around to get the survivor moving in any direction placed by the "wild and tamed" Jeholopterus. DOSSIER Common name: Jeholopterus Species: Jeholopterus Pterosaur Time: Callovian Diet: Insectivore Temperament: Jolly WILD: Jeholopterus Pterosaur otherwise known as Jeholo is one of the most unique species I've encountered on my path. A small insectivore with below freezing temperatures. It's a miracle these little guys are able to survive. WILD: Although small it isn't hard to spot Jeholo jumping from cliff to cliff enjoying the strong gusts of wind. Additionally, if you somehow don't spot these guys, Jeholo will go out of its way to play with passing by survivors. DOMESTICATED: Taming one of these little guys seems to be a challenge as they get aggravated at the slightest tough, although Jeholo is very attracted to shiny objects, maybe that could mean something? DOMESTICATED: What Jeholo lacks in size they make up for in abilities, with Jeholo being able to produce a special gel with element powered qualities. ABILITIES: -Automated freezing breath (shoots small aggressive creatures freezing them in place for a short amount of time) -Element Gel (Jeholo spits out element powered gel instead of feces) HOW THE GEL WORKS: works on Tek powered WEAPONS, ARMOR and STRUCTURES *CANNOT BE USED TO CRAFT TEK ITEMS* -Climbing (when near a wall switch to climbing mode and Jeholo will use its claws to bring the player up) -Create Gusts of wind (Jeholo can create gusts of wind in placed directions) HOW THE WIND GUSTS WORK: Enter a mode (high cooldown) that allows the survivor to create small gusts of wind in any direction possible, Jeholo will jump off the survivor and create the gusts then will return to the survivor once on the ground or after 30 seconds. TAMING: allow a wild Jeholo approach the survivor, when the Jeholo approaches the survivor MUST equip a shiny object (any Tek gear, or metal gear) once the Jeholo notices the shine it will hop on the arm of the survivor and will start the taming process. While on the survivor arm it will nibble and destroy the shiny gear (flak easy to break, Tek best) once destroyed Jeholo will fly away. In the time Jeholo is on the survivor's arm they must feed it the preferred food in between breaks where it will give a wanted trophy a certain number of times (ranging from element to even a Gamma dragon head skull or alpha dragon head) once fed enough times Jeholo will hop off the arm and start the second part of the taming method where Jeholo will want to play tag, following it around for the last 50% of the taming finishing the tame. (must keep shiny item equip) and finally one of these little guys is tamed. NOTE* -NOT BREEDABLE -NOT CLONABLE (Would be really OP) PVP: - allows survivor to make quick escapes from fights with wind gusts - no longer needing to risk doing boss fights to keep generators running - freezing breath to stop survivors from coming in too close - Keep Tek force fields running - Gel works as ammo for Tek turrets 1 Gel = 5 shots - keep armor and weapons powered - Hard taming PVE: - no longer having to worry about Tek generators from running out - free climbing pick - easy movement around the map - defense from pesty dinos such as Pego's, compies and raptors - keep armor and weapons powered -Hard taming- 2 replies
