  1. Hello people of the ark forums. I am a person who likes domesticated rodents, like rats. Especially fat ones. Fat ones are funny :). Anyways, I think we should stop obsessing over things like "my dinosaur can cure cancer!" or "my dinosaur can be a nuclear physicist when you tame it!" This silly competition for your dino to be added into the game is pointless since pretty much every vote winner gets entirely reworked in the dossier reveal, even in looks. On an unrelated note to that statement, you guys should vote for this rat. If you ocean lovers thought the water tames were bland, think about how few cutie patooties we have in this game. I can think of the ferox and noglin off the top of my head, but even then we have so few cute tames. I want more cute dinosaurs!!! Let me introduce the giant rat, otherwise known as the scientific name in the title that im not rewriting. Not only is he an adorable shoulder pet, i've also packed as much usefulness as I can into the concept, so he's not a complete waste of time. Realistic visualization of who you should vote for: Now lets get down to business Like actual rats, this funky fella will scurry around the city. Hes curious but skittish, stopping to investigate survivors who pass by but fleeing if they get too close. However, if you have herbivore food like berries or kibble in your hotbar, he'll come up to you and give you the rat-equivalent of the puppy eyes while making a pleading motion with his tiny hands. If you feed him the food like he wants, he'll eat it out of his hands like a raccoon and either ask for more or walk off for a bit before coming back. Once you tame a gamer rat by this method, he becomes yours. You can have them on your shoulder, and now we get to the uses: Like real rats, this guy never gets sick. He gets so unsick that the corruption has no effect on him, and he's even a repellent for it! If you don't wanna tame a giga or something to walk around in the big corrupted areas, just grab a rat buddy and every corrupted dino will stay far away from you at all times. Example: Im kind of having writers block on the pve side of things, so if anyone who sees this has a suggestion i would definitely add it to the post. Now for the pvp feature because im neutrally aligned and want to appeal to both sides. Like actual rats, this guy is basically invisible in terms of stealth and doesn't get seen by turrets. You can use his option wheel to instruct him to find the nearest powered enemy generator and destroy it. He can fit through any windows or doors as long as they are open, or even hatchframes. As long as he isnt seen by the other survivors who thought their turret wall was adequate compensation for lack of endowment, he can do what rats do best with electronic devices and chew the crap out of them, disabling the generator and rendering the enemy base largely defenseless. Due to the fact that it is the middle of the night and i'm out of ideas for now along with the fact that i have exceeded the file size limit, i will leave this submission as is until further notice. pls vote :3
  2. 🐈 small cat shoulder pet tame helper Give your friends a good shot of Bourbon. IN THE WILD - 8 kg (18 lbs), about the size of a big house cat - looks like a Persian tabby or a Norwegian Forest cat, with glowing stripes or spots - found in the sunken forest, often napping in tree tops or high ledges - can jump very high and climb trees - about as easily spooked as a monkey - will flee if spooked, but if cornered, will bite (causing normal damage) and/or hiss (causing a paralyzing slow effect, like being webbed) and/or swipe (induces fear to animals / hallucinations to people) - passive tamed with combo of fish meat (prime working better) and the "ascerbic" mushrooms - the black ones with the narcotic effect* *If unavailable on the map, then narcoberries would be a reasonable substitute. - once tame, will eat fish or meat; can be fed ascerbic mushrooms (or narcoberries) for special attacks TAMED (all effects diminish on larger animals: the larger the animal, the less the effect) - hiss: 3 second paralyzing slow effect to animals that come within 1 meter - claw swipe: small amt of damage, but when cat has eaten black mushrooms (or narcoberries), poison induces 3 seconds fear to animals / hallucinations to people - purr (automatic while on shoulder): de-agros animals, induces torpor in wild or enemy animals and enemy humans not riding - lick (automatic while on shoulder): heals owner by cutting bleed damage/mushroom or radiation hallucinations/torpor up to half - the usual shoulder-pet weight reduction on inventory; in addition, acts as good as an electric fridge for keeping kibble/veggie cakes/ascerbic mushrooms/narcoberries/biotoxin/blood packs/Sanguine Elixir in its inventory - (NEW) gacha pal: when placed beside an unhappy gacha, it cheers up the gacha so it will produce again; when placed beside a single gacha, it will produce an effect equal to feeding the gacha owl pellets Bourbon Cat can be put on turret mode, to hiss and swipe at wild dinos and enemys. Not a light pet: Bourbon Cat glows like the aberrant variety animals, but does not have the glow pet passive damage to reapers and nameless, does not attract seekers, and does not light the area. Info from Wikipedia: Proailurus bourbonnensis was a smaller species [than Proailurus lemanensis], estimated to have been 7-10 kg. Of the teeth, the p1 is wholly missing, and the m1 was slightly less elongated and the m2 less reduced than in P. lemanensis.
  3. Greetings, survivor. You see before you the Mei long, a dinosaur designed for our return to Earth in Extinction. This creature is fused with the power of element, allowing it to absorb the destruction many attempt to cause with this dangerous material. Who knew that this small, sleeping dragon could bring so much balance to the world scrouged by Titans? Presenting the Mei long aka Sleeping Dragon… Friends, I believe this is what we need to finally get a useful shoulder pet into the game. We’ve already gotten our share of big carnivores and OP dinosaurs (not that they aren’t cool, mind you). The use of shoulder pets has been overlooked in these creature votes, so lets finally get one into the finals. Thank you for your support. Artwork. Common name: MEI Species: Mei long Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive (tired) In the Wild. The Mei is small dinosaur. Although aggressive toward survivors and other small creatures, they are also at risk themselves of attack from large carnivores like Tyrannosaurus rex. Mei spawn in around the Snow Biodome, the Wastelands, and also the Sunken Forest, but more rarely in the latter. The power of balance the Mei has prevents it from being corrupted by Element, so Corrupted Mei cannot be found. Wild Behavior. In the wild, Mei usually spawns in groups of 2, increasing the chance of being killed by attackers. Although they will attack smaller creatures, they will flee if attacked by a larger creature. The aggro range is small, around the same size as a Theri’s. Occasionally, if a Mei has not taken damage or slept for the last 2 minutes, it can go to sleep. If the “sleeping dragon” goes to sleep, it will curl up and cease to aggro onto anything. While sleeping, it regains health 10 times faster than normal, as well as recharge any lost Endurance (see below). After two minutes, or after being damaged by anything, the Mei will immediately wake, and begin aggroing or fleeing as normal. Taming + Food. To tame a Mei, you must wait until it is sleeping. It is suggested that survivors watch from a distance, and killing off Mei predators will help prevent it from dying easily or being attacked in its sleep. While a Mei is sleeping, you must approach and pet the sleeping Mei by pressing [E] like normal. This will begin the taming tracker. After petting a Mei, you must wait for it to wake up and fall asleep again to pet it again (wait from a safe distance, preferably). Make sure no predators are nearby. Not only can they potentially kill the Mei, but damaged Mei also wait longer to fall asleep, and therefore increase the time it takes to tame. Damage only ruins taming effectiveness if inflicted onto the Mei while it is asleep – damage to an awake Mei does not ruin taming effectiveness. Food. Although food is not required to tame the Mei, it is still a carnivore. It must eat meat just like any other carnivore. It IS pretty efficient at harvesting hide and meat, especially considering it’s a shoulder pet. Breeding. A baby Mei automatically inherits the highest stamina stat from its parents. This is to increase its level of Endurance (see below). Other stats are random as normal. The Mei are born in eggs like any other dinosaur, and they cannot breed while asleep (see below) Appearance. Mei long is on the colorful side of things. They are densely feathered, with colors ranging from, white, grey, greens, black, and purples. The majority of their body is one color region, meaning Mei is mostly one color, with different colors in little stripes or spots on its tail, head, or arms. Egg Color. The color of a Mei’s egg is dark purple with black spots. Attacks/Abilities. Primary Attack: The primary attack of the Mei is a claw slash and bite. Its base damage is 25. Endurance. The Mei long can absorb Elemental attacks directed toward allied Mei in the wild, or allied creatures tamed. While tamed, this effect only works while mounted on a survivor. The Mei automatically absorbs 50% of damage from any Element based attack dealt to an allied creature within range. This includes attacks made by Titans (not titanosaurs), TEK weapons, MEKs, and Corrupted and TEK Creatures. The absorbed damage is instead dealt to the Mei’s Endurance. Via the option wheel you can set the Mei to absorb “only damage on creatures”, “only damage on survivors”, or to not absorb damage at all. The base Endurance for the Mei is 100. For each level into Stamina (wild or while tame), the Endurance stat increases by 100 for the first level, and then 50 more for each level from then on. Example: First Stamina level increases Endurance by 100, next by 150, next by 200, next increases it by 250, and so on. There is no limit to the Endurance a Mei can have. If the Mei does not have enough Endurance to absorb 50% of an attack, it instead absorbs what damage it can with its last Endurance. When Endurance is at 0, the Mei is automatically set to “absorb no damage”. Endurance does not regenerate unless the sleeping dragon sleeps… Sleep. Much like telling a Chalicothere to sit, you can force the sleeping dragon to sleep via the option wheel. While asleep, Endurance regenerates at 10 Endurance per second. A sleeping Mei also regenerates health 1000% times quicker than normal. Wild Mei have Endurance much like a tamed Mei, except they cannot be set to “absorb no damage”, unless they run out of Endurance. Wild Mei regain Endurance while sleeping the same as a tamed Mei. Element Dust. Tamed Mei long can have Element Dust placed into their inventory. If a Mei long is sleeping with Element Dust, it will automatically consume the Dust at a rate of 1 per 10 seconds. Each consumed Element Dust increases the Endurance and Health regained by 5000% for the next 10 seconds. If a Mei long wakes from a sleep in which it consumed at least 1 Element Dust, it will become affected by the Element Fury condition. This condition causes it to glow white and lose 1% of its max Health value every 1 second. Element Fury lasts for 24 hours (real-time). The Mei also has a 50% chance of losing Element Fury if it is force-fed Blue Crystalized Sap while sleeping. This sap pleases the Mei and allows the corrupting powers of Element to flee from the Mei’s nervous system.
  4. This creature has adapted to its surroundings perfectly, it has a natural camouflage so it is unseen by most other sea creatures, except for Tuso and Anglerfish, which can spot it swimming through the depths. It has an almost symbiotic relationship with the Anglerfish, meaning Anglerfish are partially aggressive to the Coralotel as it's after the Anglerfish's Angler Gel, which is a sort of catnip to the creature. On it's back lay a few rows of bright sea coral which help the Coralotel blend it even better to it's surroundings. Also along it's back are brightly coloured stripes which light up when fed Angler Gel. This puts it in glow mode, increasing it's HP, attack and stamina temporarily. When glow mode is activated, all creatures can see the (AXO) Coralotel. The gills of the (AXO) Coralotel produce oxygen so when saddled, act as a oxygen tank. To tame this creature, it needs to be lead far into land, as oxygen reaises it's torpor. Once knocked out it's fed Biotoxin as its kibble. The (AXO) Coralotel can be bred but cannot mature in captivity so stay small .however its young act as a shoulder pet whose special ability is to produce oxygen for it's wearer. The young can glow when feed Angler Gel which can be used as a light. Axolotls are known as the amphibian that never grows up Axolotls are friendly faced salamanders that stay in their 'tadpole' form forever
  5. 🐈 small cat shoulder pet tame helper nickname: "Shimmer Kitty" previously submitted to the Aberration vote as Leptofelis IN THE WILD - 8 kg (18 lbs), about the size of a big house cat - looks like a Persian tabby or a Norwegian Forest cat, with glowing stripes or spots - found in the jungle or an Ab Green Zone, often napping in tree tops or mushroom trees - can jump very high and climb trees - about as easily spooked as a monkey - will flee if spooked, but if cornered, will bite (causing normal damage) and/or hiss (causing a paralyzing slow effect, like being webbed) and/or swipe (induces fear to animals / hallucinations to people) - passive tamed with combo of fish meat (prime working better) and the "ascerbic" mushrooms - the black ones with the narcotic effect* *If the Center doesn't get an Ab zone, then narcoberries would be a reasonable substitute. - once tame, will eat fish or meat; can be fed ascerbic mushrooms (or narcoberries) for special attacks TAMED (all effects diminish on larger animals: the larger the animal, the less effect) - hiss: 3 second paralyzing slow effect to animals that come within 1 meter - claw swipe: small amt of damage, but when cat has eaten black mushrooms (or narcoberries), poison induces 3 seconds fear to animals / hallucinations to people - purr (automatic while on shoulder): de-agros animals, induces torpor in wild or enemy animals and enemy humans not riding - lick (automatic while on shoulder): heals owner by cutting bleed damage/mushroom or radiation hallucinations/torpor up to half - the usual shoulder-pet weight reduction on inventory; in addition, acts as good as an electric fridge for keeping kibble/veggie cakes/ascerbic mushrooms/narcoberries/biotoxin/blood packs/Sanguine Elixir in its inventory Shimmer kitty can be put on turret mode, to hiss and swipe at wild dinos and enemys. Not a light pet: shimmer kitty glows like the aberrant variety animals, but does not have the glow pet passive damage to reapers and nameless, does not attract seekers, and does not light the area. Info from Wikipedia: Proailurus bourbonnensis was a smaller species [than Proailurus lemanensis], estimated to have been 7-10 kg. Of the teeth, the p1 is wholly missing, and the m1 was slightly less elongated and the m2 less reduced than in P. lemanensis.
  6. I own/breed slime molds such as Physarum Polycephalum So slime molds is a misnomer... They are not molds they are an amoeboid like creature. They even grow flagellas when submerged in water. They gets the name molds because the reproduce in a similar fashion as fungi (forming a mushroom like stalk which produces spore (like) vessels for the baby amoebas. These stalks are often carried off by ants which eat the stalks. Which is how I think they should be breed ants having a percentage chance to drop spores which can be grown into slime molds. Slimes are actually really intelligent despite not having any neurons. They can solve mazes by laying down a mucus which they can use chemotaxis to determine where it has been. They kind of try every possible combination of paths until they reach the end of the maze... And then rearrange itself in the most efficient way. Which is why I think they would be great for something like lock picking/ pin cracking or even disabling tek (In the 2 images above researcher in Tokyo made a petri dish map of Tokyo. The placed food at all of the subway stations. And the placed physarum Polycephalum at Tokyo station and watched it spread. The next day it had rearranged itself in a more efficient way than Tokyo's actual subway system) I also think it would be cool to see if you feed them element shards or dust or be in radiation their mucus would change and become a mutagen farm. In lab study's they've found that they do not like light heat or salt because they are mostly water and would dehydrate. However they can gain resistances to these things over time so maybe a leveling system like the moschops /theri to gain resistances (The center slime mold has learned to be resistant to the salt block Infront of it... But slimes can also share their adaptations by joining with other slimes) Another interesting feature of the slime molds is they can survive with out water for up to 2 years by creating a cyst around itself and harden on the outside til water is available is why I think it should be a shoulder pet it could act as an armor by hardening... Could act as a radiation suit (given that some microorganisms can eat radiation) or a scuba suit ( given that it can grow flagellas it could increase swim speeds) I think that it would also be cool if attacks a player it can act as hand cuffs Slime molds such as Physarum Polycephalum are also excellent hunters mostly eating plants and fungus so they could gather the various mushroom types https://youtu.be/1PIFbS-wQVE while they are not extinct slime molds have been around for 600 million years so definitely prehistoric origins (Source: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/brainless-slime-molds/#:~:text=Compared with most organisms%2C slime,or even simple nervous systems. )
  7. Species Mystacina miocenalis Time Middle Miocene Diet Omnivorous Temperament Neutral Wild A species of small sized walking bats that prowl the forest floors across the jungles of the Arks, these small creatures forage for fruit and carcasses, but they prefer to feed on bugs. They spend the daytime hiding in a colony in small burrows where they cannot be found, at night they come out and can be seen flying or scuttling around. They seem unafraid of survivors and won’t flee or spook, making them easy to tame by giving them delicious bugs you bring them. If a survivor is lucky enough to locate a den they can loot it for whatever goodies the bat has unearthed, from precious stones to lost items, this will cause the inhabitants of the den to become aggressive and swarm you with painful bites for a short time. Domesticated A passive tame that is quite simple to attain, at first they seem to be a normal shoulder pet with limited use, but many survivors have discovered that these bats release a foul odor that makes creatures that like dismounting you such as Purlovia end up stunned instead! The bat will also deliver a life saving bite that will remove a stunned state to its owner, making them a great little companion. Also in the company of other bat species these little creatures will give them a minor buff similar to a pack boost but not as efficient as long as it is on on the owner’s shoulder. Also much like the hawks on Fjordur they will bring you your possessions if you perish. They are omnivores so keeping them fed is no trouble in hard times. They can also cling to walls when sleeping in your base and make adorable noises. The idea behind this is we absolutely need an anti-stun lock tame… also because why not go for a full Bat Rider set as we have a full “Eagle” Rider set. Basically it tames similar to the Hawks, but bringing it bugs is better for effectiveness. The dens are basically mini-Beaver dams but with a regular lootcrate inventory, so you can get basic stuff out of it.. not totally worth it but if in a pinch it could be worth it. Wanted to make them not a total reskin of the hawks so they do function differently outside the return items function, meaning that both have a function distinct from the other. To note they only fly when fleeing or attacking in the wild, just to make finding them easier.
  8. Species: Hippocampus Sarmaticus/Leviathan Time: Middle Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Here’s another attempt. I think The Center is a perfect map for this tame. The vast ocean, the underworld, all the air bubbles. I feel Ark's oceans need a bit of love. What better way than with a new mount. Seahorses are pretty cool looking as well as sea dragons, and who wouldn't want to ride around on one. A saddled mount of course They're like master ninjas, so this mount could have some sort of camo ability, maybe when they're within underwater vegetation. They could function similar to an underwater purlovia, and their first strike from being hidden could cause massive burst damage. Kinda like sneak damage. Because of this sneakyness, make all wild creatures non aggressive to it unless provoked. This includes the jellies. In fact, let's make this creature immune to jellies shock to have another mount to fight against them. Maybe even have cnidaria actively run away from them like the piranha does to the sarco. These could be the best biotoxin gatherers. (A sea slug pic, but the patterns and appendages look cool, and I invision this ark creature taking visual cues from it) Seahorses also are very tanky with their bone like ridges down their body. Instead of their body and tails being cylindrical, they're more square, thus able to take more damage and even be compressed and be able to bounce back unharmed. This means the ark creature could make for a very tanky mount with possibly even recoil damage. Add a good saddle for even more tanking. Seahorses also have great mobility, so it can control similar to an underwater Tapejara. This is a very interesting video below about Seahorses. Utility is a big thing the ocean needs too. With the males pouch, it could function as an underwater maewing, able to nurse or improve imprints. Maybe a player can use its pouch to be transported underwater and give oxygen. Again, immunity to jelly stings. They have these cool prehensile tails too. They can use this to latch onto different things underwater to stay put, and enter a sort of turret mode. We can use these prehensile tails to grab small to some medium sized creatures, which has a multitude of uses, but also make it able to pick players underwater from their mounts. To balance this, make it ridden only or something. These tails could have another purpose too. There aren't any underwater shoulder pets. Until they're grown, while they're still a baby/adolescent, they can use the tail to become a shoulder mount. Adding stun immunity or reduction, or adding armor and recoil damage to the player while assisting in battle with their attack/breath. The balance to this would be that it's temporary, until the baby reaches a certain size, then it auto dismounts. Killing cnidaria could make it grow faster, or feeding it biotoxin. It would speed up raising. You could ignore this mechanic to keep it smaller for longer to keep the shoulder benefits, because it's raise time could be long without using it. With all these positives, maybe give the creature lower stamina, or make it opposite of the bear. Super fast burst speed that eventually slows down. Same with dps. Stupid high burst speed dps, that slows a lot over time. The way I imagine it looking is some kind of Seahorse/Seadragon hybrid with some draconian features. This is ark afterall, and some dinos aren't 100% real world accurate, so we can spice this up a bit. https://www.google.com/search?q=sea+dragon&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj_ttH9nMj8AhWTFmIAHQ8kBcAQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=sea+dragon&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzIECCMQJzIKCAAQgAQQsQMQDTIECAAQQzIECAAQQzIECAAQQzoFCAAQgAQ6BAgAEAM6CAgAEIAEELEDOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToHCAAQsQMQQ1CBCFjmJGC-KWgAcAB4AIABe4gBgAuSAQM2LjiYAQCgAQHAAQE&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=WzzDY7-dA5OtiLMPj8iUgAw&bih=647&biw=412&client=ms-android-americamovil-us-revc#imgrc=t00DU5k3vLyQlM&imgdii=w_wkJPB5AToXmM Another cool option would be some kind of underwater breath attack. Bubbles that stun or slow so they can assassinate prey, or superheated water jet, but I'd like for them to have some sort of poison breath. It would go with the assassin theme. This poison would accumulate in its inventory similar to acatina, maybe increasing production for a time with cnidaria kills stacking. We could coat our weapons or even dino claws with the poison to give special debuffs and inreased damage per hit for a time. This would benefit high attack speed dinos a lot like the raptor, giving more use for its faster attack buff from its alpha call. I hope you all like and upvote.
  9. Common Name: Psittacosaurus Species: Psittacosaurus mongoliensis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Skittish Wild Psittacosaurus, or the “parrot lizard”, is perhaps one of the cutest creatures I’ve ever seen on the ARK. Their derpy faces and sweet disposition can only be rivaled by the Otters. While sticking together, they’ll happily graze upon plants and seeds. But if none of their kind is around, they’ll find the closest herbivore herd for protection. An intriguing feature of the Psittacosaurus is their hollow, brightly colored bristle-like structures on their tails. At first, I thought they were used only for display, but recently I noticed another use for them. If a predator approaches their group, one individual will draw the attention of the predator by waving its tail and put the creatures in a trance, giving the rest of the group time to escape. I have only seen this happen when predators are aggressive towards them though, so could it be a psychological display as well? Domesticated While creatures like Sinomacrops are great for scaring off predators, the Psittacosaurus is built for luring them away. No matter how big a creature is, they can’t help but be drawn in by the Psittacosaurus’ unique display, making anything helpless for a short period of time. I’ve seen Tribes utilize the little guy’s capability by drawing wild creatures into pens so they can be tamed later or luring domesticated ones off cliffs to their doom. And better yet, one sea-faring Tribe has tamed then for the sole purpose of having a “parrot lizard” on their shoulder! My dreams of becoming a pirate have certainly come true! Details As a new shoulder pet, Psittacosaurus can be utilized as a passive lure against aggroed creatures, wild or tamed. They will shake the bristles on their tails and hypnotize any creature that is aggroed towards them, distracting them for at least fifteen seconds (less or longer if need be). Wild Psittacosaurus will do this to wild or domesticated Dinos to give the rest of their group time to retreat. And if there are no others in their group of the same species, wild Psittacosaurus will find the closest herbivore herd for protection against any predators. Wild Psittacosaurus will be skittish around Survivors, much like Oviraptors if approached too close, so your best possible option is to bola them and tranquilize them. Their favorite foods are seeds or kibble. Once tamed, you can have them on your shoulder and carry them around like a pirate captain. And if you set them up properly, they will lure any aggroed creature to it, even while walking. However, you and the creature will need to face each other directly otherwise the trance will wear off if you turn around. Though this may not work on all creatures like the any of the invertebrates, Nameless, Deathworms or Golems (bigger list will come out later). However, if a Giga was in its rage state, you can easily cancel it out by hypnotizing it with the Psittacosaurus! The Psittacosaurus will be perfect for luring creatures into taming pens (unless they can’t be aggroed) or luring creatures off cliffs to their deaths. Plus they are cute and are perfect pets to have on any sea-faring occasion. If anyone has any other thoughts, feel free to comment below! Sources https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psittacosaurus
  10. Leptofelis small cat shoulder pet tame helper nickname: "Shimmer Kitty" IN THE WILD - looks like a Persian tabby or a Norwegian Forest cat, with glowing stripes - found in the Ab Green Zone, often napping on top of the mushroom trees - can jump very high and climb trees - about as easily spooked as a monkey - will flee if spooked, but if cornered, will bite (causing normal damage) and/or hiss (causing a paralyzing slow effect, like being webbed) and/or swipe (induces fear to animals / hallucinations to people) - passive tamed with combo of fish meat (prime working better) and the "ascerbic" mushrooms - the black ones with the narcotic effect - once tame, will eat fish or meat; can be fed ascerbic mushrooms for special attacks TAMED (all effects diminish on larger animals, the larger the less effect) - hiss: 3 second paralyzing slow effect to animals that come within 1 meter - claw swipe: small amt of damage, but when cat has eaten black mushrooms, poison induces 3 seconds fear to animals / hallucinations to people - purr (automatic while on shoulder): de-agros animals, induces torpor in wild or enemy animals and enemy humans not riding - lick (automatic while on shoulder): heals owner by cutting bleed damage/mushroom hallucinations/torpor up to half Shimmer kitty can be put on turret mode, to hiss and swipe at wild dinos and enemys. Not a light pet: shimmer kitty glows like the aberrant variety animals, but does not have the glow pet passive damage to reapers and nameless, does not attract seekers, and does not light the area. references: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptofelis picture explanation: Leptofelis is the same size or a little smaller than Styriofelis pictures from this YT video: Note: I'm not an artist, but if anyone would like to make a dossier or a sketch of a Leptofelis on a Survivor's shoulder, I would love it!
  11. Introduction: Greetings, survivors! I introduce to you the ever-evolving arachnid; the Deinocroton! The foundational ideas and selling points for this arachnid include: Changing roles depending on its stage of life Skill tree with unique abilities Glow pet that can eventually be ridden Reeling harpoon mouth Ability to climb walls Deinocroton fits well with the alien and horror-esque landscape of Aberration’s deepest caverns. The map lacking a new tameable creepy crawly has been a huge missed opportunity that can be rectified with Deinocroton’s inclusion. The planned abilities and mechanics of this creature, as explained in detail later on, set it apart as potentially one of the most unique creatures ARK has ever seen. It also takes advantage of the introduction of wild baby dinosaurs into Survival Ascended. Dossier Data Common Name: Deinocroton Species: Deinocroton lumos Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Sanguivore Temperament: Adaptable Wild: “I think Deinocroton lumos is the first species on the ARKs I’ve seen that exhibits ontogenetic niche partitioning. To put that into simple terms, they fill different roles in the ecosystem depending on their age. Larvae hatch in the upper reaches of the caverns, and migrate further down the larger they get. The larvae are true parasites like normal ticks, while juveniles and adult specimens are pure ambush predators. If their victims successfully kill their attackers, they’ll explode into a pool of irradiated guts and gore. It’s almost as interesting as it is certainly horrifying to witness. Unlike the ticks of Earth, both females and males of all ages will gorge themselves on blood. They prefer creatures that produce charge, since they are seemingly unable to produce their own.” Domesticated: “Though I doubt many survivors would enjoy having this vampiric arachnid near them EVER, they do provide some very interesting uses. Like in “nature”, each phase can fill a unique role. Larvae can rest on your shoulder and be thrown to latch onto targets, while older individuals can be ridden to climb along the cave’s walls. Deinocroton grow at a rapid rate after feeding on blood and charge, and when they molt, certain parts of their body will mutate and adapt to certain conditions. Survivors may be able to directly influence their growth to become better specialized for specific purposes, whether it be supporting, attacking, or defending.” Wild: The Deinocroton can be found in all three levels of the derelict ARK’s caverns. However, each layer contains a different stage of their life cycle that gets older the deeper down you go. Phase 1: This early stage is about the size of any other glow pet, and it is found within the Green Zone. They latch onto the bodies of larger creatures like Spinos, draining their blood. They may attach to your tame, and you can get them off by hitting them. Phase 2: This middle stage is closer to the size of an Araneo, and it is found within the Blue Zone. They rest on the walls of the cave, looking on from a distance and waiting for prey to approach. Prey the size of a human or smaller is speared with a long harpoon-like structure (called a hypostome) and reeled toward them like a Bloodstalker, and you can break out in the same way. They come in different forms, so they’re unpredictable. Phase 3: This final stage is about the size of a Trike, and it is found within the Red Zone. Unlike their previous stages, these Deinocroton bury themselves underground, waiting for prey to pass over them before lunging out. Their hypostome harpoon can now drag creatures of their own size. Being pinned and distressed attracts the attention of other beasts in the depths. Individuals possess even greater variety than Phase 2. All of these stages are attracted to charge light, and will most likely ignore survivors and their tames as long as they don’t have chargelight on. They will also explode upon death, bursting into irradiated blood. Phase References: Larva (Phase 1), Nymph (Phase 2), Adult Female (Phase 3) Taming Process: Only Phase 1 and Phase 2 can be tamed. Phase 3 Deinocroton are too independent and stubborn to be convinced of human allies. Phase 1: Use aberrant variants of larger creatures as hosts, as the ticks will be lured if they’re hostless. Multiple individuals can latch on at once and suck the blood of the host creature, and will eventually tame. Managing your creature’s health is of utmost importance, as its death will cause the ticks to become disinterested and lose taming effectiveness rapidly. Phase 2: Almost identical to a Bloodstalker, though they will only accept glow pets or humans who have charged batteries on hand. Even if you don’t have these things, they will still attack you, but will not tame. Tamed: Congratulations! You’ve successfully tamed a Deinocroton! Now with this predatory parasite under your control, you’ll find that it will provide you with a swath of unique uses. Skill Tree & Evolution Mechanic: Each phase is dramatically different from the previous. All Phase 1’s are the same, while Phase 2’s and 3’s will have the option to be upgraded upon reaching those phases. A meter will slowly increase overtime and can be sped up by feeding the Deinocroton blood packs and batteries. When the meter is full, the creature is ready to molt and enter the next phase. From here, survivors can upgrade certain aspects and abilities in the style of a skill tree. Think of Evolve's evolution mechanic in the style of what Therizinosaurus, Moschops, or Troodon have. Phase 2 will begin which particular path you want to go down, while Phase 3 will focus on specializations within that class. The appearance of the individual will permanently change. Classes: Support: Upgrades charge light and resource collection. Attack: Upgrades attack strength and maneuverability. Tank: Upgrades damage resistances and lifesteal. Phase 1: Shoulder Pet Actions: Throw: When thrown off of your shoulder, it will leap through the air and latch onto a large enough target. It will start stealing their health and generating blood packs in its inventory. This also induces torpor. Charge Light: Like normal, charge light can be toggled on and off by using the “Lights!” emote. Phase 2 & 3: Mount Actions: Primary Attack (, , ): A basic bite attack. Secondary Attack (, , ): A reticle will appear, allowing the Deinocroton to aim. Press the primary attack to shoot out the hypostome harpoon and reel prey towards you. As long as the harpoon is connected, health and charge (if applicable) will be drained rapidly over time. Victims can free themselves by attacking, dealing damage to the creature. The Attack tree enhances the drain rate and range of this attack. Charge Light (Click C, , ): Charge light can be toggled on and off while on its back. Jump (Press Space, , ): A basic jump. Can attach to walls and climb. The Attack tree enhances jump height. Burrow (Phase 3 Exclusive): Like a Purlovia, the Deinocroton can hide underground and act as a living landmine. It can be set to different modes depending on what the survivor wants. Dormant: No attacking. Trap: Catch large creatures in their jaws, rendering them immobile. Explode: Explode, killing itself and others around it. Passive Abilities: (Available across all Phases) Charge Light: Like a regular glow pet, Deinocroton emits charge light, though it operates slightly differently. They can’t regenerate their own charge, and must collect it from outside sources, such as ally glow pets. The Support tree enhances charge capacity, range, and regeneration. Radiation Immunity: They are immune to radiation. Lifesteal: Like a Desmodus, Deinocroton steals health from their targets and collects blood packs as they attack. The Tank tree enhances lifesteal, and the Support tree enhances the blood pack collection. Death-splosion: Upon death, the tick will explode and deal AOE damage. The damage of the explosion scales with the amount of stored chargelight in its body and the phase it is currently in. The Tank tree enhances the damage of the explosion. Unique Breeding: Only Phase 3 Deinocrotons are able to breed, and only Phase 1’s will hatch from eggs. Once they have hatched, they can be used as tames right away. The upgraded traits of the parents do not carry down to their offspring. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Each phase possesses a unique niche. Phase 1 can be used as a typical glow pet and as a taming tool, using the torpor quality of its blood sucking to knock large creatures unconscious. Phase 2 is the most mobile, and is one of the better traversal methods. With its ability to climb, it can grab Rock Drake eggs fairly easily, though be wary of their lower stats. Phase 3 is the strongest, and can be used as a proper battle mount. Regardless of phase, their ability to steal blood packs and their production of charge light will always be useful. Deinocroton exclusively used in PvE may run a primarily Support build. PvP: Each phase also has a distinct PvP use. Phase 1 can be used as an annoying parasite, draining health and constantly applying tick damage (hah) overtime. Players would need to remove them by attacking them, and due to their frailty, will most likely kill them. Phase 2 fills the niche of a poor man’s Bloodstalker, being an agile wall climber that can snatch riders off of their mounts. Phase 3 is the most useful, as it is the strongest and bulkiest of all. Damage reduction and survivability from a Tank build may allow it to fight on the ground. A Phase 3 buried under the ground to act as a trap or landmine to guard your base serves its own utility as well. Regardless of phase, charge light will repel tamed Reapers, and their explosions upon death will force survivors to be cautious when approaching and dispatching the ticks. Conclusion: While another arthropod recently won, being the Rhyniognatha, Deinocroton is distinct enough from it that they have little to no overlap outside of being bugs. Bloodstalker comparisons can also be drawn, with Deinocroton possibly being considered a slower and bulkier counterpart. Its abilities and versatility based on its unique mechanics provide an interesting experience for players and change up how they play the game. A giant monstrous tick glowing in the depths of Aberration is a horrifying, though fitting, sight to behold. Have fun, survivors! Art by Jadstone Written by Dynasty

  13. Hello survivors! I've got quite a curious creature idea for you today. So I introduce the Platyhystrix! A strange blend of a Dimetrodon and a toad. It also secretes a poison from its skin that has many uses and abilities, which should be visible for you to read in the dossier image. -I propose a passive bio-toxin farm which can be found in the waters of the blue zone. -It will be a shoulder companion with a major caveat, that poison that it secretes is deadly to all who touch it! -It may also be tamed in a different way to what is detailed in the dossier. Unfortunately, I'm not as creative as most of you out there so couldn't come up with a truly unique taming method but, because of this, I welcome suggestions. -I truly believe that this creature would be right at home on Aberration due to it still be a real creature but having a very fictitious appearance (which fits Aberration's fantasy feel) Apologies for the low quality of the dossier image, I came up with this quite late. !DISCLAIMER! -None of the assets in the image are mine. -I am simply using them to visualize my creature concept. -I am making no claim of ownership. -Image links can be found below: https://w7.pngwing.com/pngs/64/38/png-transparent-torosaurus-triceratops-tyrannosaurus-quetzalcoatlus-fissuravis-weigelti-platyhystrix-tyrannosaurus-animal-electric-blue-thumbnail.png https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/616221072375596508/D840C750304F0CA7C6F24D9677C3BAEDCB89AEA8/?imw=1024&imh=662&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=true -Please don't sue me.
  14. Note: This creature was previously listed under the name of its currently living relative draco volans, which is so much easier to say. But the rules state it has to be a real but extinct creature. So here you are. Coelurosauravus elivensis looks like a tiny winged glowtail, about 8" in size. It is a warming shield that makes you invisible to wild dinos. This little carnivore spawns where sulfur is found, and is passively tamed with cactus sap or (less effectively) sulfur or raw meat; similar to the way sinomacrops are tamed. Once tamed, pick up Coelurosauravus elivensis and it goes into your inventory shield slot (so you can also have a shoulder pet). Visually, it holds onto your shield arm, wrapping its little arms and legs around your arm and resting its head on the back of your hand. (It peeks at you when you raise your arm to look at your implant.) Primarily, this tiny wyvern acts like a full ghillie suit + cactus broth + bug repellent + invisibility ala rock drake, shadowmane, or pachyrhino. It makes you completely undetectable to all dinos, unless you touch or hit them. Pegos will ignore you; sea gulls can't see you anymore. Monkeys won't spook. Cave adventures are a walk in the park, as long as you watch your step! Secondly, if you put sulfur in the "elf dragon's" inventory, it will start to glow and be able to breathe fire. The glow provides a source of light similar to a light pet. The internal fire creates a passive source of warmth equal to a campfire. It can also defend you, burning any attackers who hit you. It is breedable, usually laying 2-4 eggs with one breeding. In summary, the Coelurosauravus elivensis is a Bob's best friend. It's a living torch/invisibility shield that uses the inventory shield slot (keeping the hand and shoulder free). Note: The real Coelurosauravus elivensis were only a few inches long and could only glide, rather than fly. pic from https://www.popsci.com/science/first-flying-reptiles-dragons/
  15. Good morning survivors ! We are pleased to present you the Didelphodon,an extinct mammal that lived during the end of the Cretaceous period BEHAVIOR: This is a small mammal as big as a badger whose natural habitats are the redwoods and the mudslides where it can only be seen sleeping or wandering alone because it is not a sociable creature with other creatures, even so, it is a peaceful creature and it will not attack you. Due to the dangerous areas in which it lives, at the slightest danger, it will be able to bury itself in the earth coming out only when it does not detect any danger TAMING: To tame it, first you need to give it honey without being detected because if it does, it will run away, after eating the honey, it will start a Game off tag in which you will have to touch it several times to finish its taming, it is important to know that while it is running away, if it buries itself, do not he will lose taming effect, but if he takes damage he will lose it UTILITIES: This little creature apart from being able to climb on your shoulder, it has some very interesting abilities, they will all be listed below - Bite: No cooldown required, 20 base damage - Bleeding Bite: 3 second recharge, 20 base damage, 5 second bleed - Roar of Motivation: It will activate every 2 minutes if it is on top of your shoulder, it will provide a buff that will consist of -10% damage taken, 10% more damage, 5% more speed and 5% more life regeneration like stamina, all this will be provided to your creatures for 1 minute - Jump: It is capable of making a small jump forward REPRODUCTION: In order to reproduce this creature, you must place fiber in the female's inventory, which will be ingested by her while they are mating and during the gestation period, if you do not do this, the female will die

  17. Common name: Tokummia Species: Tokummia katalepsis Time: Cambrian Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Passive Wild: Tokkumia katalepsis is a fascinating creature that can be found within most bodies of water within the ARK. A small scavenger, it devours anything that falls to the floor of the body of water its in. Occasionally, it may attack and eat smaller prey, but it ignores other animals for the most part. With its shell, it doesn't have to worry about predators, though they don't seem to pay much attention to them anyway. Despite their seeming insignificance, Tokummia are an important part of the ecosystems they inhabit, as they clean up any dead creatures that may find their way to the little critter. Domesticated: At first, I thought Tokkumia wouldn't be more than a mere pet, but I was completely wrong. Tokkumia is surprisingly intelligent, capable of being taught to collect certain items. It can also unlock doors and containers, useful for any would-be thief inhabiting the ARKs. I've even seen a few survivors teach it to refill troughs! Taming: Tokkumia would be tamed by dropping honey in front of it, and allowing it to consume it. Not very complicated, making them pretty easy to get. Uses: -Tokkumia would be capable of picking up items on the floor, including eggs, fertilized eggs, feces, achatina paste, etc. It can be selected in a menu, and the Tokkumia would wander a set area, going to and picking up any of the specific item that is in its range. It can be linked to a storage container, such as a vault, fridge, or storage box and the Tokkumia will bring the item to said storage container. In case the container fills up, it could possibly be linked to multiple containers. -Tokkumia can lock pick doors and structures only in PVP. This includes containers and other structures, of course. -Tokkumia can be linked to a container of food to refill troughs when it runs out. -Tokkumia is a shoulder pet, will give a weight reduction to all items in player's inventory -Tokkumia is ignored by wild creatures, so if any manage to get into your base, they won't be a threat to it. -Tokkumia doesn't have an oxygen stat, so it functions on land and in water. Obviously, it would be able to swim in water, allowing you to farm aquatic eggs. Ark has gone long enough without a creature that can automatically pick up egg, fertilized, eggs, achatina paste, feces, etc so that you can save time farming things. Please consider voting Tokummia if you want Ark to finally have an automatic pick up creature, something that the game definitely needs. Image credit: Lars Fields
  18. The Eophrynus prestvicii is a predatory early arachnid that was similar to a tick or a spider. it lived in carboniferous Europe. It was around 2.5 centimeters but my interpretation of the animal for ark would be around the size of a jerboa. In the ark world it would spawn in all the forested areas except for the Redwood, Where it will crawl on the ground among the bushes. It is a passive tame. It is tamed with a new item. The jar of ants. The jar of ants can be obtained by crafting a water jar. If the water jar is empty, it can be used on a Titanomyrma (drone or soldier) as long as its under 20 percent of its health. This will result in the Titanomyrma dissapearing and the empty jar turning into a jar of ants. With every jar of ants fed, the taming bar ofcourse goes up, until it is tamed. (When feeding a jar of ants, the jar will also disappear along with the ant. This is ofcourse not realistic but it makes the taming a little bit harder by not being able to reuse the jar and needing to craft multiple.) It is not aggressive and will run away when it notices a player. However it will attack Titanomyrma and meganeura by jumping and latching onto them and draining health. Once tamed, it can feed on spoiled meat or chitin. It can sit on the shoulder of the player. The Eophrynus can be set on a latching mode. If this mode is on (wich can be done in the settings) once it is removed from the shoulder it will be thrown by the player and any enemy player or wild/enemy tame that it hits it will latch onto. This will result in a bleeding effect that also deals torpor damage. It will un attach and return to the shoulder of its Master if it goes below half health. If it is thrown on a player it will attach to the players face. this impairs the players vision. But it can be removed similar to a leech. There is also a patrolling mode. If this is on it will wonder around and attack only wild bug animals. Since it does increased damage on bugs. Including but not limited to: the arthropleura, pulminoscorpius and araneo. This is very useful as it will keep annoying bugs away from the desired area. In this mode it can also follow and attack any nearby bugs. Now onto its main ability. In the settings there are four modes. One is the normal mode, where it will just sit on the shoulder. Two is the previously described latching and patrolling mode. The third one is the caving mode. (Not necessarily caving but it would be very useful in caves.) Once this mode is on it will act normally, until it is fed a jar of ants. After that the Eophrynus will inflict the bug reppellent effect on the player on wich it is mounted. There is a stat that can be leveled. The higher this stat is the longer the bug reppellent effect will last. this would make it very useful for caving. However there is a long cooldown for this ability that i will let the ark devs decide the length of, as i do not know what the optimal cooldown time would be. but it can also just be set on follow and aggressive, since it ofcourse does increased damage on bug creatures. (I do not own any of the pictures)
  19. Found in the Redwoods and the Southwest of Ragnarok this Small agressive "four winged" dinosaur can often be spottet hunting it's smaller relative the Microraptor. Hunting such a fast creature made it getting used to decent speeds aswell. It is too fast to be pinned down by a bola, but can easily be put to sleep by a lucky shot as it has very low torpor stats. Taming: passive Although being very vulnerable to tranq shots, this Dino cannot be K.O. tamed, as it will loose trust when being threatened. It remains a curious and playful creature non the less and loves to chase other creatures. In order to tame Changyuraptor yangi one must carry it's favourite prey on the shoulder while rushing threw the woods like a madman. The faster the survivor (on a mount) the easier it will be tamed. Utility: For this creature speed is everything! When put on the shoulder Changyuraptor will grant a significant speed buff to the survivor aswell as any creature the survivor is riding, making it a valuable tame for anyone wanting that sweet super speed to dash trew the air on a griffin in a fight, saving some stats in a mounted creature or simply to make that Ankylosaurus finally hurry up. Additionaly it will function similar to a gliding suit or Sinomacrops as it will allow the survivor to glide trew the air with incredible speed. Wiki link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changyuraptor
  20. Dossier: Common Name: Balhuticaris Species: Balhuticaris scubatae Time: Camrbian Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Balhuticaris scubatae lives in the ocean where very few predators attack it, with every large ocean predator considering it too small for sustenance. It often feeds off smaller fish in the sea, which can easily catch thanks to its ear-like flippers, making it one of the fastest creatures I’ve seen swim. Balhuts have a symbiotic relationship with some semi-aquatic creatures, where in exchange for larger prey, they provide clear vision underwater through their tail. Their tail can attach to the spinal cord of a creature and combine their optic system with its partner. Balhut also strangely secretes powerful electrolytes that can be absorbed through the host skin, allowing them to stay better hydrated when they come into contact with water. Balhutcaris also had amazing senses, almost never being able to be caught off guard. Balhuts are not easy to approach, they are easily scared off by almost everything, however, they do love shiny objects. Domesticated: Once domesticated, Balhuts can be extremely good house pets, being surprisingly cute and friendly once they are used to their owner. However, their main use is underwater, where they can use their flippers to boost swimming maneuverability underwater. Their love for all things shiny also leads them to automatically find underwater supply crates and steal anything off the crate. They also have amazing sight out of water, and can warn its owner of danger. Gameplay: Wild Information: Balhuts, being the size of a Sinomacrops, will spawn alone in the ocean, with shipwrecks being its most spawned area. They eat smaller Coels, with bigger ones hunting it, which it will then run away. It will run away from players. Taming Information: The Balhut will not run away and be attracted to the presence of silica pearls. Once near silica pearls, they can be fed raw fish meat or regular kibble, being their favorite. Need to be Level 50 to tame. Tamed: Balhuts are shoulder tames which are set on the back of any survivor. Once the survivors run with it, it will be barely hanging on with its lower body floating in the air. The Balhuts do need water to live, their high oxygen stat will go down while out of water. However, it will show the survivor how much oxygen the Balhut got, and can be replenished once touching water, rain, or if a canteen, waterjar, or water skin is used in the Balhuts inventory. Its oxygen will not go down while standing still. While on Shoulder: Scuba Vision/Flappers: The Balhut will give its owner increased movement speed while underwater. Can stack with flippers. Also gives better underwater vision to its owner. Hydration: Give Hydrated effect to the owner when they touch or consume water for 15 seconds. Has a 45 cooldown Auto Grab: Balhut can show the player through an icon all underwater/cave drops through a 50 foundation radius. It will automatically grab underwater/cave supply crates without having to access the inventory. It will do the same for Beaver Dams, but will only grab the Silica Pearls and Cementing Paste, then destroy the Dam. It can also be thrown off the shoulder to do the same. While Off Of Shoulder Drown Target: Once whistled onto the target underwater, it will wrap itself around a small target and decrease its swimming speed by 70%. Can swing to be released from grab, like Bloodstalker. Other Information: Can only be bred underwater. Breeding and Raising stats are similar to Sinomacrops. Inventory can be accessed without having to throw off shoulders. Can be hit with bola and net. Gameplay Uses: Balhut are similar to Sinomacrops, where they are not really PVP or PVE tames, but just a convenient tame all together. They increase movement speed underwater and help see clearly underwater, making going underwater a lot more enjoyable without having to make Scuba gear. Its Hydrated buff is also very useful, allowing survivors to travel faster near bodies of water. Its autograb is also very useful, allowing people to grab a whole underwater/cave drop with the press of a button. Plus doing the same thing with Beaver Dams, with the exception of the wood and flower/mushrooms, is something also Ark players would love. The Balhut does have extra PVP uses, however, being able to act as a warning system, similar to lightputs, except a lot better at it. Its drowning ability also is a counter to anybody underwater, even people with Scuba Flippers. The Balhut does have very minor conveniences. Survivors need to worry about its Water stat and make sure it doesn’t dehydrate to death. Its drown is very easily counterable. It whole gimmick is also very situational and isn’t a shoulder put you would rock all the time. I wanted more Cambrian creatures in Ark because they are so weird looking, you would expect them to be a Wildcard original creature, but turn out they actually existed, which really gives light to the crazy amount of insane looking organisms that lived on our planet. While Balhuticaris is the most crazy Cambrian creature, it sure is one of the cutest, and can potentially be very expressive. The whole Scuba gimmick is of course based off its giant earlike flipper on its head. Its complex sight is also based on real life, with Balhutsicaris being described as having complex sensory systems. Overall, Balhuticaris would be a very convenient and fun creature to Ark. 21. This creature is the oldest type of snake, that it can be found hiding in the sands of the deserts lurking and crawling for their prey, probably you would think that this creature is going to only prey on jerboas and insects, but don't let that feeling fools you, this 3 meters long snake can prey over medium and a few big creatures, it name means "terrible destructor" (dinilysia) and it honors their name, is not a venomous snake but a constrictor one, it can crush bones easily and trap large creatures making his bones in something similar to tooth paste. This snake can be tamed with small creatures but like with a pet snake you should fed it with alive creatures like the animals you thinked first, jerboas or small insects, but alive ones. When this creature is tamed you can use it as a shoulder pet that can crush the bones of your enemys while it still standing in your shoulder because of it's long body and this crushing hability can also break rocks and any kind of minerals, being more efficient than a pickaxe but it only can do it with the rocks that it's body allows, you know, you can't break mountains with a 3 meters long snake; and it can also trap creatures like a chain bola.
  22. Images by Scott Reid and Unknown Pintrest account Drepanosaurus is a small, arboreal lizard. It uses the giant claws on it's front feet and tail tip to stay latched onto trees in the wild, and onto a surviror's shoulder if one were to be so fortunate to find one! They are masters of disguise, changing the pigment in their skin to match the biomes they find themselves in. They can be spotted (rarely) anywhere with dense tree cover that is warm enough for them to be active. Temperament: Passive Time period: Triassic Diet: Insectivore TAMING: They love to eat insects. To tame one, put chitin in the last slot of your tool bar. Once close enough, the Drepanosaurus will use it's long tongue to grapple to the player and become latched to their shoulder. It will remain on the player's shoulder and constantly eat chitin from their inventory until tamed. Don't run out of food though! If the chitin runs out before taming is complete, the Drep will become irritated and use it's tongue to launch itself onto something else, losing effectiveness in the process. Once tamed, this fantastic lizard is a very useful companion. - Use Drep's tongue to grapple onto terrain, dinos and players. The grapple length is not as long as a conventional, expendable grappling line. Drep will shoot out it's long tongue on command, which will automatically reel in after 1.5 seconds of contact with something. It can be cancelled by pressing the ability key again. If it has made contact with terrain, it will pull the player to the terrain. Aiming up will launch the player slightly upward at the end of the grapple. If it's tongue has made contact with a player or small dino, the Drep will pull them toward you. This ability uses the Drep's stamina, so give it a break every now and then! - Drep will automatically eat insects within it's tongue range. Drapanosaurus is a voracious little predator, and will consume any small insect-like creatures within it's immediate area. This also protects the player from onslaughts of angry ants or dragonflies. It will collect the chitin in it's inventory and consume the meat. Drepanosaurus can also be put into 'turret mode' and gather chitin in a specified area. This creature's intended purpose is to give players a more re-usable grappling hook at the cost of time/resources to tame one of these little fellows. It also may alleviate some early-game/noob frustration incurred by players repeatedly being attacked by insect swarms.
  23. Caviramus is a pterasaur that is newly discovered I think . apparently caviramus also has teeth like a dragon if that makes sense to everyone , i mean I'm pretty sure a lot dinosaurs have teeth like a Dragon . Caviramus is the size of a cat , so I'm pretty sure this would be a shoulder pet . You can passively tame the caviramus with fish . As for abilities uuuhhhmmm it can provide some sort of shield from those electric storms that cause your guns to not work . So uuhhmmm does this seem like something to have in scorched earth to you people .
  24. Greetings! Hope I'm not late to showcase my creature idea: A Mongoose! Made sure to reference an unfortunately extinct species to make it eligible for the submission. To those who aren't familiar, mongooses are little carnivores from places like Africa and India, most of them are very aggressive and are prime hunters of venomous snakes due to their extraordinary venom resistance. You think they might look like Otters, but they're not related at ALL. Meerkats for example are mongooses if that rings a bell 👀 Many mongooses live in arid areas, which makes them a nice fit for Scorched Earth It could be some sort of counter for serpents... but the ones we got in Ark are a bit too much compared to what mongooses are used to, specially considering they've got not advantage against constrictors (or an enormous basilisk). Abities + It doesn't make your survivor or your mount immune to torpor. Think it like a shield - as the name suggests - it prevents a set amount of incoming torpor and, once such amount is depleted, must be replenished before protecting you from stings again! + When an aggressive enemy approaches whoever the Mongooses are hung onto (and if they're set up) they'll jump and "latch" on the target, stunning it! Think of it as a "pocket Purlovia" maybe + How many can hang on your shoulder or tame might depeng on weight, drag weight, level, stat... or whatever WC wishes I think that's it, nothing too deep. Just a nice little companion with some drawings trying to show what I mean and what I came up with
