  1. Create your own corrupted zombies! Abilities: First ability: Corruption Blast! The Manipulator opens its wings and directs a concentrated blast of Corrupted spores at its opponents. This is a long range attack that will cause enemies to suffer the longer they are exposed to the spores. The damage will stack over time the longer a creature is exposed, which will last until the 20-second mark, where the damage will reach its maximum! Second ability: Plague of the scourge Manipulators can release a toxic sludge made of Corruption from its spiracles. When this sludge comes into contact with an enemy they will become sick and start taking damage. The ailment will spread to others and will begin to mutate the longer it's active, causing the symptoms to get worse over time! Third ability: Tarsal claw The Manipulator can climb up almost any surface with its powerful tarsal claws, allowing them to cling to walls or ceilings! Fourth ability: Reanimator Manipulators can use this ability on both smaller and larger creatures! By placing a Corrupted Node into any creature’s inventory, including Survivors, the node will then sprout tendrils and reanimate the body to do their bidding! However, reanimated creatures cannot be healed due to their zombified status, so use it wisely! Passive ability: Symbiosis The aggro-radius of Corrupted creatures is drastically reduced when riding this creature, which is handy when scouting the Wastelands and the Forbidden Zone! Wild behavior: Manipulators can often be found in the Forbidden Zone of Extinction, or in rare occasions out in the Wasteland spreading its specialized strain of corrupted spores. Manipulators are naturally scavengers but they will not hesitate to hunt down Survivors and other creatures. A Manipulator’s main objective in life is to gain more territory than the others of its kind. When two males come into contact, they will compete over territory and ram into each other using the horns on their pronotums as a show of dominance. Taming: One can acquire a Pronotum by either picking up one from a previous fight between two male Manipulators, or you kill a male to harvest the drop. This can then be used to tame a Manipulator by tossing it to the ground like Honey and it will taunt the Manipulator to fight, to which you will have to bring out your own concussive mount, whether that be a Pachy, Equus or Therizinosaur. You will then battle the Manipulator until it passes out, and then you’ll be able to feed it whatever food it prefers. And there you have it, your very own Manipulator! Tamed: The zombie fungus in the Manipulator can produce corrupted spores that can infect other creatures and Survivors, much like Mega-Rabies but deadlier. With a flap of its wings it can release these spores at opponents to deal damage over time. The damage increases significantly more if the Manipulator previously launched a sludge bomb of spores at their target, and will cause an infection that can be deadly if not treated with the newly acquirable Greater Antidote! The Manipulator can climb any surface with ease, whether vertically or upside down. And more impressively it can avoid detection from Corrupted creatures around it, as long as it’s not directly next to them. But its main ability is the power to “reanimate” the nearly dead using the zombie-ant fungus to control them remotely. The Manipulator must first attach a Corrupted Node directly to a target below 10% health using the fungus sludge as a glue and then release its spores to activate the fungus. This in turn will cause tendrils to sprout out of the body and control the creature or Survivor, to which the one riding the Manipulator can whistle commands as if they are their own tames. The zombies will only last for a short while before dying, so use this ability wisely. Additional information: Manipulators can only hold up to five corrupted nodes at a time. Male Manipulators have horns while the females do not. Manipulator is inspired by multiple creatures including the Madagascar hissing cockroach, Giant cave cockroach, Halloween hissing cockroach, and Tarantula hawk. Manipulator can be found in the wastelands and forbidden zone of Extinction. 2. 1. Artwork and My Design Idea Artwork and Dossiers above done by danger floof Art below done by Kiarra Zhenyuanlong Suni, the Peahistoric Peacock The Zheny i imagine takes on our modern day peacocks looks, specifically regarding the long tail feathers or "plumage" and the very colorful feathers over the body, and rather than only displaying for mating or intimidation like modern peafowl the Zheny uses its crystal or gem infused luminescent fanning of plumage to hypnotize and lure in its prey, a lot like the Mesmer in Subnautica, those who fall prey to the mesmerizing effects of its gorgeous light show, find themselves unable to move as the Zheny slowly creeps towards its victim to begin eating it alive (Females use sound to hypnotize since they have no plumage like males) both genders of Zheny look different just like the modern day peafowl Rare Male Variant: All White Zheny with red eyes on the plumage Males: Will have longer tail feathers, and a larger frame Females: Will have Shorter Tail feathers, but more head crest feathers than the male Table Of Contents: 1. Artwork and My Design idea 2. Dossier 3. Abilities/Controls 4. Taming and Spawn Zones 5. Wiki Info and Links 2. Dossier Common name: Zhenyuanlong Species: Zhenyuanlong Suni Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild : Zhenyuanlong Suni is quite possibly one of the most stunning animals I have ever laid my eyes on. Its hypnotically beautiful feather display is sure to send anything, man or beast, into a trance. The male Zhenyuanlong seem to be fully aware of their beauty status, as they obsessively try to maintain their pristine appearance. They can even be seen using the reflection of the water to look at themselves. If you play your cards right, you might be able to use this to your advantage! Domesticated: If one can manage to pull a male Zheny away from the mirror, it can prove to be quite the good companion. Not only can it use its beautiful tail fan to put similarly sized creatures into a hypnotic trance, but it seems to be the only way to obtain a female Zheny! Female Zhenyuanlong seem to be unaffected by standard tranquilizers, and the reflection method doesn’t seem to work on them either. This would have to be my best guess as to how someone would obtain one. One unusual quirk of the Zheny is their affinity for crystals. I’ve been unable to pinpoint the exact reason they collect these crystals, but I would guess it would have to do with their courtship ritual. 3. Abilities/Controls Passive: Speed and damage are major categories in this creature's abilities, Zheny has lightning-fast turning based on how much acceleration it gets, it can dive down and slide on the surface of the ground almost like you're skiing or drifting, a lot like the andrewsarchus! Space/A/X: Potential for flight or a regular jump Left Click/RT/R2 is a basic bite dealing about the same damage as a max level Raptor would do Right Click/LT/L2 is a claw attack dealing bleed as well as harvesting crystal with its sharp claws CTRL/RS/R3 is the Hypnotic Display (will work on survivors and wild, mounted or unmounted tames no bigger than shadowmane) the display would light up one eye at a time from the body to the tip of the feather and repeating, gif linked at the end for the example for the light show, the zheny requires gems or crystal in its inventory when tamed, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) if not the light show idea then slowly waving the feathers left to right The only ways to resist the Hypnotic effects is A: Have it run circles around you causing it to make itself dizzy or B: to have a tribemate hurt you or have a loud sounding object such as a cannon or loud gun, to snap you out of the trance from there on, you may begin to run away or trap your potential Zheny if you dont have a tribemate, and you have the Zheny you want, make sure to place a small bear trap in front of you, and as its walking towards you while your in trance, the trap will snap, distracting the Zheny long enough to stop displaying and let you run or trap it to tame 4. Taming and Spawn Zones Male Taming Method: The Zheny LOVES the way it looks, so the only true way to tame it, is quite a lot like medusa, make it look into a mirror, so bring multiple, and while its attempting to hypnotize you, it will take a look into the mirror, and hypnotize itself from there, it will continue its display until its Luminescent feathers end up shattering the mirror, breaking its own trance, this will bring its taming bar up to anywhere from 10% to 20% per mirror, depends on the health of the mirror and what level the Zheny is eventually, it'll obey your every command Female Method: The only way to tame a female Zheny is by using your Male Zheny to "court" the females in the surrounding area, normally spawning in groups of 2 or 3, once you have isolated the female you want, display those feathers, every 10%-20% tamed, she will try to attack you or flee, do not fight back or run, and do not give chase, if you attempt to run, she will see your male as a coward and ignore your attempts at taming for about 10 minutes IRL time, if you fight back, same results as running crystals or gems are required to mate as well, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) Island: Redwoods Center: Redwoods and Underworld Ragnarok: Redwoods Aberration: Fertile and Bio-Luminescent Zones Extinction: Sunken Forest Valguero: N/A(because of deinonychus being there) Gen 1: Swamp Crystal Isles: Redwoods, Cherry Blossom Forest, Floating Islands Gen 2: Rockwell's Garden and Eden Lost Island: Redwoods Fjord: Vanaheim 5. Wiki info+Links Zhenyuanlong (meaning "Zhenyuan's dragon", from Chinese Pinyin 龙/龍 lóng "dragon") is a genus of dromaeosaurid dinosaur from the Yixian Formation of Liaoning, China. It lived during the Aptian age of the early Cretaceous period, approximately 125 million years ago. It is known from a single specimen belonging to the species Zhenyuanlong suni. This type specimen preserved a nearly complete skeleton that contains traces of feathers, including long tail feathers and large wings. In addition to further complicating diversity of Liaoning dromaeosaurids, this specimen provides the first evidence of well-developed pennaceous feathers in a large, non-flying dromaeosaur, raising the question of what function such wings would serve. Zhenyuanlong would have been about 165 centimetres (5.41 ft) long when complete. With the added length of long tail feathers, the animal was perhaps up to 2 metres (6.6 ft) in life. Example of how the hypnosis would work below https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhenyuanlong
  3. Hello dear survivors, today I present to you the incredible Sibyllinae Arboreal Mimic is an extraordinary creature that evolved after being exposed to the mysterious compound Element on planet Earth, during the events that led to the desert of Element on the map Extinction, in the game ARK: Survival Ascended. This description will detail its characteristics, including sexual dimorphism. Sexual Dimorphism: One of the most striking characteristics of the Sibyllinae arboreaimitatus is the pronounced sexual dimorphism. Females of this species are notably larger than males, an intriguing evolutionary adaptation. While females can reach dimensions comparable to that of a Tyrannosaurus rex, males are generally about half the size. Size: Comparable to a Tyrannosaurus rex, females of this species stand out as some of the most imposing creatures in the Elemental wasteland. Camouflage: Both sexes possess the unique chameleonic ability to resemble a burnt tree in the Elemental Desert. This camouflage is used to ambush prey and avoid threats. Deadly Jaws: Both males and females have extremely powerful jaws, capable of crushing prey and even defending themselves against predators. Agility: Amazing agility is a trait common to both sexes, but more pronounced in males, allowing them to quickly change position when necessary, whether to hunt or escape danger. Wild Behavior: The Sibyllinae Arboreal Mimic is notoriously solitary and territorial, regardless of gender. They camouflage themselves like scorched trees, remaining motionless for long periods until prey or threats approach. When they detect a hunting opportunity or a potential threat, they quickly change posture, revealing their deadly jaws and striking with precision. ATAQUES!: Universal Attacks (Works on Both Genders): Predatory Bite: The Sibyllinae Arboreal Mimic lashes out with its powerful jaws, dealing significant damage to the target. This attack is effective both for hunting prey and defending against threats. Stealth Strike: Utilizing its chameleon ability, the Sibyllinae camouflage itself like a scorched tree and launch a surprise attack when prey approaches, delivering a powerful blow. Charge Attack: With its surprising agility, the creature can make a swift charge against its opponents, dealing considerable damage and even knocking down smaller targets. Male Exclusive Attacks: Sneak Attack: Males are remarkably agile and can execute a sneak attack, silently moving behind their prey and delivering a precise, deadly blow. Sequential attacks: when these attacks are enabled, you will have to set a certain time (which will appear on the screen) to increase the male's attack speed, which can reach a maximum of 200%. Female Exclusive Attacks: Devastating Smash: Females, due to their impressive size, have the ability to perform a crushing attack that can shatter prey and structures with ease. This attack is especially effective in siege situations. Menacing Scream: Females can emit a terrifying scream that temporarily stuns nearby prey and threats. This allows them to gain a tactical advantage in combat. Domestication methods: Camouflage Dance Steps for Males: 1.Careful Observation: The tamer must carefully observe the males in their natural habitat, studying their movements and behavior. 2. Imitative Dance: The tamer must learn and practice an imitative dance that reproduces the characteristic movements of Sibyllinae males. This can include agile movements such as jumping, sliding and turning. 3. Ritual of Approach: With the imitative dance mastered, the tamer must approach the males with the dance, imitating their movements and behavior. This establishes a form of communication and respect between the tamer and the creature. 4.Gradual Taming: Over time, the males will allow the tamer to come closer and closer, allowing him to gently touch their jaws and vulnerable areas. Domestication takes place gradually, as trust is built. 5.Integration in the Tribe: Once tamed, Sibyllinae males can be integrated into the tribe or team of survivors, where their agility and skills can be used for tasks such as hunting and reconnaissance. Steps of Camouflaged Harmony for Females: 1. Collective Approach: The tamer should approach Sibyllinae females with a group of tamed males, ensuring that they are present as mediators and demonstrators of trust. 2.Giving Gifts: Gifts, such as natural foods and materials from the Elemental Desert, should be offered to the female as a sign of peace and cooperation. 3.Dance of Harmony: The tamer, along with the tamed males, performs a choreographed dance that demonstrates harmony and cooperation. The dance incorporates movements that mimic the camouflage and posture of females. 4. Bond Building: The tamer and males continue to interact harmoniously with the female, gradually creating bonds of trust and respect. 5.Integration into the Tribe: Once the female accepts cooperation, she can be integrated into the tribe or team of survivors, where her majestic presence and formidable strength can be harnessed for defense and other activities.
  4. Barbaturex First of all, this will be divided into male and female due to sexual dimorphism. FIRST PART i have come to earth after so many different arks, but one of my first pressures were the barbaturex, some giant iguanas that hide in the trees or camouflaged in the rocks of the city, now i am afraid to cut down trees because the barbaturex if you cut down their tree they get off it and bleed you dry with their claws and you die. MALE: wild: This giant iguana, being a male, has a neutral temperament and is very fast but has less life than the female but it has a claw that does less damage than the female but is faster and has better bleeding just like its tail, which is faster than that of the female and works like a whip. tame: To tame this beast you must first make it angry so that it chases you and let it give you a few blows so that it carries a super bite, opening its mouth a lot. When it is carrying the bite you have to take a spear and put it in its mouth to prevent it from sawing it, a time with the spear in his mouth every two seconds the durability of the spear is reduced by 1, so you have to be quick and throw food into his mouth before he breaks it. (favorites: prime lamb meat and superior feed) tamed: This beast, once tamed, uses the mount of the male because dimorphism causes them to use different mounts. attacks: As its main attack it has a claw that causes bleeding as strong as that of the thylacoleo, as a second attack it has a tail that works like a whip, taking away whatever the enemy has in its hand and being able to dismount dinos as big as a rex and as a third attack it would charge the bite from before filling the heart, and the fuller it is, the more damage it will do. TEK MOUNT: His Tek mount gives him glasses with which he can see thermally along with a small rifle that will be the same as the Tek sniper, his bullets being able to pass through walls and other dinos to hit more than one with a single shot second part soon!!!
  5. Authors Amanit and MUSH1 Hello survivors, I present to you Helicoprion. Jellyfish and eels have always irritated me when traveling underwater. Their electric shocks are just terrible. That is why I want to offer you a helicoprion, which will become a nightmare for electric creatures and, in combination, their king. I also want to offer a new craft, but first things first. Basic information: Common Name: Helicoprion Species: Helicoprion bessonowi Time: Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild Helicoprion from afar can be confused with megalodon. However, if you swim closer, which you should not do, you will inapplicably notice a huge disk of teeth on the lower jaw. In this case, you need to quickly carry your legs! These terrible predators are able to open any armor like tin cans. Especially dangerous are males who care for females. It is also important to remember about the ability of males to accumulate electricity in spikes, which begin to glow with the accumulation of charge. With this ability, they can perform electric shocks that incapacitate opponents. Domesticated To subdue this sea thunderer, the survivors will have to work hard and risk their lives more than once. First you need to charm the female by defeating several angry males in her presence. Females are weaker and do not have the power of electricity, therefore they are tamed in order to subsequently subdue the male. However, if you overcome all difficulties, you will have an incredible fighting companion. With his power of electricity and a disk of teeth, you can crush any opponents! Saddle: The saddle does not have special properties (except for the new craft, but more on that later), but it will cost quite a lot and be unlocked at high levels. Drops: Raw Fish Raw Prime Fish Fragment of a Dental Spiral A fragment of a dental spiral will be a guaranteed trophy from a helicoprion carcass. It will be used in the crafting of acne and jellyfish repellant. After drinking this decoction, you begin to exude helicoprion pheromones, so jellyfish and eels become shy and run away from you. The effect lasts 15 minutes. Passive Abilities: • Thanks to the dental spiral, the helicoprion is able to break the armor of survivors at twice the speed. This ability also allows him to ignore 50% of the saddle armor of tamed creatures, so be careful with him! • Helicoprions prey on other electrical creatures, so electrophoruses and cnidarians are terrified of them (if jellyfish and fish can be afraid at all), since their electric shocks do not cause any harm to helicoprions. Active abilities: • - a bite blow that quickly breaks through the armor of survivors and ignores 50% of the armor of the saddles of tamed creatures. The base damage from the bite of a male is 70 HP. The base damage from the bite of a female is 45 HP. With a bite, the helicoprion dismantles corpses, receiving such resources as: Hide Raw meat Raw prime meat Keratin Chitin Raw fish Raw Prime Fish Organic polymer Pelt - electric shock. Only males have them. The strength and range of the strike depend on how charged the spikes of the helicoprion are. From 0% to 100%, the energy scale fills in 50 seconds, that is, 2% per second. The higher the charge level, the greater the damage, range and stun time of the enemy. The maximum stun time is 10 seconds. Shock Damage - X3 bite damage at max charge, so base damage will be 210 HP. If the Helicoprion sticks its nose out of the water, the impact will be weaker (2X damage) and the electric wave will be shorter, but it will spread through the targets like a chain, creating an electrical circuit. If a Helicoprion with a fully charged energy bar strikes electricity vertically upwards, there is a small chance that a thunderstorm will start. There are ways to speed up the filling of the energy scale: • One bio toxin fed to Helicoprion gives it 4% energy bar filling. • The energy bar fills up when the Helicoprion is shocked by Electrophoruses and Cnidarians, however, since they run away when the Helicoprion approaches, they must first be chased and “rubbed” against them, causing a discharge. • If a saddle is put on a helicoprion, then out of 200 bio toxins in its inventory it will be possible to make a special elixir, which speeds up the recharge of the energy scale by half for 5 minutes. That is, from 0% to 100% the scale will fill in 25 seconds. Does not affect other energy sources. •[C] - release pheramones. This ability works only for the female and is needed to tame the male. When the pheramones are released, all nearby males begin to follow your female and are neutral towards you. Taming: Helicoprion females are weaker than males and do not have electrical abilities. Their dental spirals are smaller, and therefore bites are weaker. However, they are also afraid of electrophoruses and cnidarians. They have a neutral behavior. Short version of taming: You can tame a female by defeating a male in a duel and taking fragments of his spiral disk. After that, with the help of the female, you arrange a "tournament among males" in which the strongest will win and you can brand the winner. Full version of taming: If you want to get a male, you first have to tame a female. To do this, you need to prepare iron armor and a shield (several sets are better!). Also, items that restore HP will not be superfluous. Then you find a female who is courted by a male (females always spawn with males, only males can spawn separately). In order for the male to perceive you as a rival, you need to take a decoction of a fragment of a dental coil to exude pheromones. In this case, the male will start a duel with you, which will be watched by his female. A male that enters duel mode will deal half damage as usual and will not use electric shock. You need to block his attacks with shield and armor, the higher the level of the male (the level of the male corresponds to the level of the female), the more hits he can make before his spiral disk completely becomes unusable. During the duel, the male will break off his teeth, three of which will fall out in the process, and when he is left without teeth (10-25 blows), he will lose the battle and swim away. If you survive the battle, then you will need to pick up the fallen teeth and make a "necklace of helicoprion teeth", the crafting of which will open in the early levels of the game. After you give this necklace to the female, and she becomes yours. It is important to remember that the female will accept the necklace only if you defeat the male. Once you have tamed a female, you have the option to tame a male. When you find a suitable candidate, you release pheromones and he begins to follow your female. Together you find another male helicoprion and release pheromones again. The males start a duel and the one who first lowers the opponent's HP below 30% wins. The loser swims away and the winner returns to the female. Taming progress is filled at the winner after the end of the battle. The higher the level of the male, the more battles he needs to tame, the level of his rivals also plays a role. The difficulty is to find enough helicoprions, and they will not be very common. I hope you are not confused. Breeding: There is nothing unusual in breeding helicoprions. Approximate base specs: Health: 2200 Stamina: 750 Food: 3000 Weight: 800 Additional Information: Helicoprion can carry: Tusoteuthis Can damage: Thatch Wooden Stone Possible uses of helicoprion: • Excellent vehicle. Helicoprions are fast and strong, they are also not touched by cnidarians and electrophoruses, so you can comfortably travel on them across the ocean expanses. • Battle comrade. Thanks to the ability of helicoprions to bite through armor and electric shock over the area, they are able to compete with even the largest inhabitants of the depths of the island. • Resource collector. It will be convenient to get fish and other seafood on the Helicoprion. • Anti-aircraft gun against flyers. The electric wave of the Helicoprion does not work as well on land as in water, but it is still capable of shooting down unwary fliers flying close to the water. It seems to me that the use of most creatures in the Ark is limited only by the imagination of the survivors, so you can always experiment). Thank you all for your attention! You can find out about the real helicoprion here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helicoprion
  6. The first thing I want to say is, if there are some misspellings it is because I'm not an English native speaker. Now, let's get started. DOSSIER: Common Name: Venetoraptor. Cientific Name: Venetoraptor Mirificus. Period/Time: Late Triassic. Sexual Dimorphism: The Venetoraptor has Sexual Dimorphism, males have one finger longer than females and a membrane, that is a kind of primitive wing. Mobility: The Venetoraptor can't fly unlike it's descendants, the Pterosaurs, but it doesn't mean that it isn't agile, aside to being a perfect climber both on walls and ceilings; it can do a Dash, similar to Hollow Knight's one. If you are a fan of this videogame, this is your dino! It also can do a spin in the air, similar to Pteranodon ones when it is in the air, and if it wasn't enough, it can do a triple jump. Ultra Sprint and Drift: When the Venetoraptor runs, a bar is loaded at the bottom of the screen, and when the bar ends up to load, the Ultra Sprint is activated, in this mood, the Venetoraptor runs so fast, and when it ends using the Ultra Sprint mood, it hits a big drift/skid. Anti Spike Skin: The Venetoraptor is perfect against the Velonasaur, because it's skin bounces every projectile towards the attacker, in this way, the attacks of the Velonasaur will be in vain and also will be against it. Anti TEK Gasbag Fluid: We all know that there is so much TEK on EXTINCTION, that's the reason why the Venetoraptor has an ability against them. Eliminating many Gasbags, will fill a bar of fluid, which will be vomited to a Mech, a Scout, etc. It will automatically crash and stop working. Special Attacks: The Venetoraptor has two types of one attack that transform it in an authentic killer machine. The first ability is that it literally can break through its victims, taking advantage of its great speed and Dash, this can kill every Dino, unless it's bigger than a Rex or a Boss. The second ability is that it clings to its victims and tears their flesh, causing blood to spill out in a new and more realistic type of bleeding. Friendly Roar: The Venetoraptor has the ability of doing an special yell, which can attract all of the Dinos around it and transforms them on its allies during 5 minutes. Domestication: To tame a Venetoraptor, you need to have an EXTINCTION FLUID, that is fabricated with a VELONASAUR SPIKE and CONDENSED GAS, once you have it done, just let it on the floor close to a Venetoraptor, who will get closer to it, and will swallow it, once it swallowed the Extinction Fluid, the Venetoraptor will be automatically tamed. Thank you so much for reading this . I like so much the Venetoraptor, because thanks of it, we know that the ancestors of the Pterosaurs were very diverse. I think the Venetoraptor has good abilities, and if anyone votes for it, you don't know what are you losing :). I hope you have been fascinated, like me .
  7. Minotaurasaurus, the wasteland juggernaut-tank! (I don't have anything to draw my art online :P) (above): Male Minotaurasaurus (below): Female Minotauruasaurus Basic Info: Common Name: Minotaurasaurus / Minotaur Species name: Minotaurasaurus dimachaerus Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial / Aggressive towards tek Dossier: Wild: Living in the harsh and unforgiving climate that is now Earth, this ankylosaurid species has adapted to withstand all sorts of torment that gets thrown at it. In addition to sporting more heavy-plated armor than seen on any dinosaur, The minotaur here has undergone high levels of sexual dimorphism. The male “bulls” are seen to have larger horns on top of their heads and sport large hammer-like clubs, perfect for crushing their opponents. The females, although less aggressive, will fend for themselves if needed with their razor-sharp plates that run down the majority of their tails. Domesticated: When tamed, players will find that both genders of the minotaur have their own separate yet valuable utilities. The males are very efficient at gathering finer resources, such as element dust from veins and spark powder from rock, due to their powerful swings. The females are instead better at harvesting the more delicate resources that can be collected from corpses and are, as a result, one of the best creatures for harvesting corrupted nodules. Additionally, due to the minotaurs’ aggressive nature, they turn out to be quite effective in combat and may prove to be valuable assets in PVP situations and boss fights alike. (above): online art and reference for the minotaurasaurus I found online. Behavior: The Minotaur is not aggressive unless something/someone gets too close to it. Additionally, the minotaur will become aggressive if it senses tek/corrupted creatures nearby., which involves extinction-exclusive creatures such as managarmrs, snow owls, etc. the minotaur will immediately become aggressive towards enemy players/creatures that have tek equipped. Utility: Left click: tail swing standard tail swing like that of the ankylo. Can harvest berries Gender-specific resource gain as well males: spark powder, flint, element dust, etc Females: raw meat, raw prime meat, raw mutton, organic polymer, and corrupted nodules Right click: Heavy swing Minotaur takes a step forward and swings its tail as hard as it can, delivering a heavy blow with its club in front of it. Cooldown between uses (~10s) Destroys and harvests resources with slightly higher yield Damages structures (up to metal when tamed) Male debuff - Fracture (Creatures hit by the male minotaur’s heavy swing are knocked down for a few seconds and afterward lose the capability of sprinting and flying for a period of time. Cooldown to debuff applied) Female debuff - deep wound (creature affected loses some health and stamina to bleed over a period of time. Cooldown to debuff applied) 😄 tail slam slams down its tail onto the ground behind itself, having a reasonably large AOE, and affects the area below itself in case any pesky creatures/players try to hide underneath it. Space: Hunker down The minotaur lays/crouches down, protecting its underbelly and taking reduced damage (will be applied to already existing resistances), as well as being immune to knockback. Minotaur cannot attack in this position, but it permits the usage of weaponry/ tek saddle usage. Extra attack - Bellow: Ridden minotaurs will roar in a bovine-like fashion. This is purely cosmetic. Taming: Utilizing the minotaur’s hatred towards corrupted creatures, survivors can befriend one while battling the hordes of creatures from element veins. After gaining its trust by feeding it a certain amount of food/kibble, you will be able to ride the minotaur wild and without a saddle for a set amount of time, where you will then take it with you and complete an element vein with it. The minotaur will be okay if you use other creatures to fight alongside it and will not take damage from allied tames. You will not lose taming effectiveness as long as it does not receive too much damage (below 30% hp), which can be solved by feeding it veggie cakes or healing with the snow owl whenever needed. The minotaur will also receive a healing buff after every wave is complete. The minotaur will always tame after the end of a vein, but its tame efficiency depends on the health of the element vein. For a lv.150 minotaur on 1x: 10k = 33% tame effectiveness 25k = 66% tame effectiveness 50k = 100% tame effectiveness Harvesting: Males tend to be quite aggressive regarding their swing, often trying to pulverize whatever is in front of them. Because of this, valuable ores that the rider may wish to acquire will be left in an unusable state. However, the pulverized rock obtained can be used instead to produce gunpowder. The male can also harvest high yields of element dust from veins, making it helpful in gathering dust for off-server transfer. Gathers: Flint Sparkpowder Element dust Berries Females having axe-like clubs are not able to destroy rocks as efficiently. Instead, Females’ tails are more adept at cutting into flesh, making them excellent for harvesting more deluxe meats from corpses and the corrupted flesh that resides within infected creatures of the wastelands. Gathers: Hide Raw Meat Raw Prime Meat Raw Mutton Organic Polymer Corrupted Nodules Berries Note: both genders can still “harvest” the resources that the other can attack, but this will result in minimal/no yield (except for Berries) Strengths/weaknesses: Strengths: Increased damage dealt to tek/corrupted creatures (2-3x damage) Decreased damage taken from tek/corrupted creatures (0.5-0.33x damage) Reduced damage taken from firearms/projectiles on armoured body parts (0.5x damage). This buff includes turrets. Reduced damage taken from firearms/projectiles to the tail club and head (0.25x damage) Yutyrannus cannot fear it. Weakness: Increased damage is taken from Velonosaurs (1.5x damage) Increased damage is taken from Managarmrs (1.5x damage) Underbelly and lower back legs have no damage mitigation (regular damage taken) Minotaur is not very fast. The minotaur may be unable to defend itself from flying creatures efficiently, but this may be avoided depending on how its AOE looks. Roles: Gunpowder production: Male minotaur's high flint and spark powder yield makes producing large amounts of gunpowder very convenient. Element dust farmer: Males can get the nearly total value of an element vein’s worth in dust, making it worth having one not to lose the ⅕ return value from city terminals, not to mention their high weight reduction on element dust, making carrying high quantities of dust a breeze. High-quality meat harvester: Females with their sharper tails can collect much higher amounts of prime meat from corpses, making it helpful in taming and producing specific recipes. OSD/Vein Defender: With their buffs against corrupted creatures, the minotaur would be an excellent candidate for defending OSDs and element veins from the hordes of corrupted creatures. Boss fighter: with its high health and damage, the minotaur may prove helpful when wanting to fight the bosses of the other arks (keep in mind that its special abilities would most likely not be applied to bosses) Equipment: Minotaurasaurus saddle: a standard saddle like that of any creature. The player would be seated on the ridge of the minotaur’s back. Minotaurasaurus tek artillery saddle: Resembling an in-real-life tank cannon, this is a saddle that sports a long-range tek cannon that does heavy damage but has a relatively large blind spot around the minotaur. Minotaur needs to be in its hunker-down stance to use this saddle. Weight reduction: Element dust: 80% Flint: 50% Sparkpowder: 50% Organic polymer: 50% Corrupted Nodules: 50% Passives: Tek rival: When tek/corrupted creatures are nearby the minotaur, it gains a buff similar to the trike’s rivalry buff. This would give it the rivalry buff applied against tek/corrupted creatures. . Full body rotation: The minotaur can turn around 360 degrees without walking, making it far easier to maneuver than other creatures. Design: The Minotaur is only known by its bony skull, so some creative liberty has been taken to make it better fit Ark. The in-game minotaur is larger than its real-world counterpart and slightly larger than an in-game Stego. It has plate-like osteoderms covering most of its back and flat plates/spikes along the sides of its belly. Sexual dimorphism is displayed mainly through the tail and horns of the minotaur, where males have a large hammer-like club at the end of their tails and more prominent horns on their heads. Females instead have more sharp plates running down their tails, and their tails are slightly longer and covered in blades like that of the stegouros. (above: reference for the female Minotaur’s tail) Here are some reasons why I think you should vote for this creature, in no particular order: Ark has only one ankylosaurid, and with magmasaurs&striders now in the game, it has made them mostly obsolete past early game. The Minotaur, while being a larger and stronger ankylosaurid, does not overshadow the anky’s metal-gathering abilities. It gives the game a new mid-large-sized herbivore capable of taking on a broad niche of uses in the game. It is not “the giga” of herbivores. It is not supposed to be overly strong or large, and I am not following the “insert name” Giga of the “insert niche here” format that has been posted countless times. I think it's fitting to have a literal tank as the creature of choice for taking on the many dangers of extinction. If any of this interests you, please read the extra information below and vote if you like it! Some of it is just ideas/concepts, so take everything with a grain of salt and add suggestions below where you see fit. NOTE: everything I have written is just ideas to get this creature to fit nicely into this map and ARK. If you feel something needs to be fixed, is too overpowered, or needs to stand out more, please feel free to voice your opinion. I would like to make this submission appealing to all players, but at the end of the day, it is up to Wildcard to implement the features of this creature.
  8. 1. Artwork and My Design Idea Zhenyuanlong Suni, the Peahistoric Peacock The Zheny i imagine takes on our modern day peacocks looks, specifically regarding the long tail feathers or "plumage" and the very colorful feathers over the body, and rather than only displaying for mating or intimidation like modern peafowl the Zheny uses its luminescent fanning of plumage to hypnotize and lure in its prey, a lot like the Mesmer in Subnautica, those who fall prey to the mesmerizing effects of its gorgeous light show, find themselves unable to move as the Zheny slowly creeps towards its victim to begin eating it alive (Females use sound to hypnotize since they have no plummage like males) both genders of Zheny look different just like the modern day peafowl Males: Will have longer tail feathers, and a larger frame Females: Will have Shorter Tail feathers, but more head crest feathers than the male Table Of Contents: 1. Artwork and My Design idea 2. Partial Dossier 3. Abilities/Controls 4. Taming 5. Space/A/X: Potential for flight or a regular jump Left Click/RT/R2 is a basic bite dealing about the same damage as a max level Raptor would do Right Click/LT/L2 is a claw attack dealing bleed as well as harvesting crystal with its sharp claws CTRL/RS/R3 is the Hypnotic Display (will work on survivors and wild, mounted or unmounted tames no bigger than shadowmane) the display would light up one eye at a time from the body to the tip of the feather and repeating, minecraft video linked at the end for the example for the light show, the zheny requires gems or crystal in its inventory when tamed, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) if not the light show idea then slowly waving the feathers left to right The only ways to resist the Hypnotic effects is A: Have it run circles around you causing it to make itself dizzy or B: to have a tribemate hurt you or have a loud sounding object such as a cannon or loud gun, to snap you out of the trance from there on, you may begin to run away or trap your potential Zheny if you dont have a tribemate, and you have the Zheny you want, make sure to place a small bear trap in front of you, and as its walking towards you while your in trance, the trap will snap, distracting the Zheny long enough to stop displaying and let you run or trap it to tame 4. Taming Male Taming Method: The Zheny LOVES the way it looks, so the only true way to tame it, is quite a lot like medusa, make it look into a mirror, so bring multiple, and while its attempting to hypnotize you, it will take a look into the mirror, and hypnotize itself from there, it will continue its display until its Luminescent feathers end up shattering the mirror, breaking its own trance, this will bring its taming bar up to anywhere from 10% to 20% per mirror, depends on the health of the mirror and what level the Zheny is eventually, it'll obey your every command Female Method: The only way to tame a female Zheny is by using your Male Zheny to "court" the females in the surrounding area, normally spawning in groups of 2 or 3, once you have isolated the female you want, display those feathers, every 10%-20% tamed, she will try to attack you or flee, do not fight back or run, and do not give chase, if you attempt to run, she will see your male as a coward and ignore your attempts at taming for about 10 minutes IRL time, if you fight back, same results as running crystals or gems are required to mate as well, crystal is like feeding raw meat, green is like prime, blue is like mutton and red is like kibble(value of each basically) 5.
  10. Dossier Common name: Tyrannophontes Species: Tyrannophontes vastatus Time: Carboniferous Diet: Omnivorous Temperament: Patient Wild Unpredictable is how I would define Tyrannophontes vastatus, this giant crustacean is a lethal ambush predator and extremely territorial, even with others of its kind. Staying away from deep water is recommended if you want to avoid being impaled or having your bones shattered in a split second, as this most formidable creature should not be underestimated. I believe that this terrible Stomatopod has no weak point other than below its abdomen, as its carapace can withstand the most destructive explosives. Domesticated Although dangerous, Tyrannophontes are very intelligent and are curious about some shiny materials, this can be used to distract them and try to gain their trust. When calmed down, they make excellent companions for combat being able to easily deal with the most dangerous threats, in addition to underwater travel, and resource gathering. Males and females have characteristics that allow them to function differently for virtually any situation. Apparently they can see things that other creatures can't, its vibrant colors work as a hypnosis strategy and I also discovered that somehow their exoskeleton can absorb external heat, cold and radiation, maybe this has some beneficial use for the tribes. In Practice and Behavior Tyrannophontes vastatus are giant mantis shrimps a little smaller than a Rex, they remain in deep waters of the oceans of The Center in the substrate where their burrows are (similar to a Purlovia) and will attack survivors and their creatures if they pass too close to their territory, if you want to avoid being attacked, be aware that even buried it is possible to see its eyes and antennaes exposed. Tyrannophontes have sexual dimorphism, so Males and Females can attack you in different ways, Males are Spearers and will attack by projecting their spiny raptorial appendages to impale you, Females are Smashers and will grab you with their maxillipeds, in followed by delivering a sequence of powerful punches. When lured out of their burrows, Tyrannophontes will be able to chase you, but will give up if you reach land. They cannot bury each other after emerging from their burrows, but they will try to hypnotize you and then attack you if you dive back into the water. If two Wild Tyrannophontes encounter each other they will fight each other for a while until they both break apart. Taming Tyrannophontes have two methods of domestication. The first method is similar in part to Tusoteuthis, you must take a creature of your own, close to the size of a Megalodon or smaller so that Tyrannophontes can grab it (if you don't want your creature to die, it's good that it has a lot of life, like a Carbonemys for example), then give him one of the materials below to distract him and start the taming bar (Tyrannophontes is interested in shiny materials, being the following: Angler Gel, Bio Toxin, Silica and Black Pearls, Crystal, Metal Ingot and Element. The rarity of the item does not influence the percentage of taming, but the time that Tyrannophontes will be distracted, the rarer the item you offer, the longer it will be distracted), it will not consume the item, but after losing interest, it will drop it and return to attack the nearest target, keep your distance so as not to become his target. Repeat this process until the taming bar is full and you've tamed your first Tyrannophontes. The second method, if you already have a tamed Tyrannophontes, you can use it to fight a wild Tyrannophontes you want to tame (Tyrannophontes are immune to being grabbed by other Tyrannophontes), don't worry about your or the wild's health, they are extremely resistant, even the low level ones and the effectiveness is not affected, just keep attacking with claws or fists (depends on the gender of your Tyrannophontes, but this does not influence the taming), when the taming bar reaches 90% the Wild Tyrannophontes will stop attacking and raise its abdomen, displaying a respectful behavior, at that moment you must stop attacking it (if you pay attention to the taming percentage) and display the same behavior towards it, with that the taming bar will fill up faster and when complete, congratulations! Skills and Capabilities Tyrannophontes aren't very agile on land, though they can still be great fighters and gatherers. They are extremely versatile in the water, with a fast turning radius. They are immune to torpor, radiation, fire or lava, freezing, Reaper acid blood and other factors that you will see below and their carapace offers a lot of defense to any part of their body, except their lower abdomen, which is their weak point (its exoskeleton is adapted to extreme environments, preventing Tyrannophontes from being affected by the exposure of the surface of Aberration during the day time). Cnidaria do not damage Tyrannophontes. They can be bred underwater and the female will lay an egg. Tyrannophontes could deal with bigger dangers, like Mosasaurs, Plesiosaurs and Tusoteuthis without much difficulty and would be great battle companions, along with tamed Rexes and Yutyrannus, being a support in the confrontation against the Bosses and an extreme booster for Basilosaurus in underwater caves. Left Click: a primary attack with the raptorial appendages. Males will have a quick, double claw attack, hitting targets even far away from him (similar to Therizinosaurus). Females are stronger than Males, will have a club attack, it is slower and needs to be hit closer, but in addition to giving a good knockback, it also inflicts a Bleeding for 5 seconds, draining 10% of enemies' health. It can be used both in water and on land. Both Males and Females can use this attack to break Rhyniognatha's sticky resin or break ice on creatures that have been frozen by Snow Owls or Managarmrs. Right Click: press to send Tyrannophontes rolling away, very useful for long trips on land, as destructive as a Roll Rat and more maneuverable than a Doedicurus. Enclosed in its carapace, Tyrannophontes takes virtually no fall damage. If used in water the Tyrannophontes will curl up fully enclosing its carapace and protecting the lower part of its abdomen, but is unable to move. Space bar: hold to charge a super punch or skewer. The Females will cause high damage and a powerful knockback, knocking opponents away, they also cause a unique debuff called Shell Shocked that makes the armor of survivors or saddles of creatures totally ineffective for defense for 60 seconds (this debuff also inflicts on wild creatures, for example a Carbonemys takes 0.5x damage on the tail and 0.2x damage on the shell, under the Shell Shocked debuff its defense will be broken and Carbonemys will take the same damage as the head on the whole body, another example is that a Doedicurus will not be able to stay in their balled form under this debuff, making themselves more vulnerable. However this debuff does not affect other Tyrannophontes, because its carapace is practically unbreakable, being immune). With this attack the Females can destroy even Tek structures. Males will not cause this debuff, but will quickly fire their claws at the opponent, penetrating other creatures and the survivor's armor, trapping them (similar to Impaled status of Stego). Males are only able to destroy Tatch, Greenhouse and Wooden structures. This attack can also be used while underwater and with an added bonus, when charging, Tyrannophontes will fire a massive shockwave in a straight line hitting ranged targets and paralyzing them for 5 seconds, dealing the same damage as the physical impact, at area concentrated by the shockwave would become very hot for a few seconds. Fully charged, this attack also allows your Tyrannophontes to break free from Tusoteuthis' tentacles or Rhyniognatha's claws in PVP. C Key: hold for Tyrannophontes to raise its abdomen and display its pleopods, uropods and antennal scales which will glow in a pattern of vibrant, iridescent colors, this demonstrates respectful behavior towards Wild Tyrannophontes, but can also be used to cause a hypnosis effect on players (similar to the fertile red mushroom spores clound effect in Aberration) and on wild or tame creatures in PVP, works both on land and in water, hypnosis has a 10 second cooldown on each use and players and creatures that are affected will only be hypnotized again after 15 seconds have come out of the effect. Tyrannophontes can cause three types of hypnoses: Paralyzing Hypnosis: paralyzes enemies and creatures for up to 10 seconds. Attractive Hypnosis: attracts enemies and creatures towards you, but they will not be able to attack you under this effect for 10 seconds. Reflective Hypnosis: works as a "mirror", returning the debuffs caused by the roar of enemy creatures, for example a Yutyrannus or a Rhyniognatha would be scared by their own roars (returns only debuffs caused by roars, not by physical attacks like Gnashed or against roars that apply buff to the creature itself, such as the Dire Wolf's howl). The three hypnoses will also force creatures cloaked by Female Shadowmane, Wild Shadowmanes, tamed Desmodus and Rock Drakes to reveal themselves. Paralyzing and Attractive Hypnosis is also very useful, as it facilitates stealing Rock Drakes, Wyverns and Magmasaurs eggs. The downside is that the Tyrannophontes would leave the lower part of its abdomen exposed and more vulnerable to damage, but the hypnoses would affect all entities (not from your tribe) in a large radius around the creature, being a good tactic in certain situations, as well as used to tame Wild Tyrannophontes. Creatures larger than a Magmasaur or Rex are unaffected (The Tyrannophontes themselves, wheter wild or tame, Alphas and Brute creatures and Bosses are not hypnotize). X Key: allows Tyrannophontes to attach to any surface at the bottom of the water and walk, rather than swim (similar to Megalanias and Rock Drakes clinging to the walls and ceilings of surfaces), can only be used underwater as Tyrannophontes would not be able to support your body on the ceiling or vertically on land. MMB: grabs players and creatures with its maxillipeds (can carry the same creatures as a Karkinos, one at a time, but also aquatic creatures up to the size of a Megalodon, flying creatures are not grabbed). Ctrl + X Keys: Releases or stores an absorbed factor. Were you curious? See more below. R Key: Tyrannophontes can switch between three different vision types, beyond normal vision (real mantis shrimps have the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom, having between 12 and 16 photoreceptor cells, the ability to change wavelengths, trinocular vision and depth perception). When using one of the other 3 vision types will consume stamina, Tyrannophontes will also not be able to use the hypnosis skill. Night Vision: equal to the Tek Helmet's Night Vision, giving perfectly clear vision during the day and underwater (I honestly think a dynamic polarization vision would be more interesting, but I don't know how this could be applied in the game). Infra-red Vision: like Snow Owl's Predator Vision, it works on land and in water. Ultraviolet Vision: the environment is changed to an ultraviolet color palette, this vision allows Tyrannophontes to see the general stats of any creature and at long distances (like the HLNA does in Genesis Part 1, but better). It also lets you detect buried creatures such as Purlovia and Reapers or entities behind walls. Passive Skills and Utilities By now it is clear that Tyrannophontes was made for PVP, but it would also be very useful in PVE and Host Solo. You could leave your Tyrannophontes walking, so they would collect various natural resources in large quantities and still with a 80% weight reduction of practically all these resources in all maps. The intelligence of Tyrannophontes allow them to recognize and guard places with an abundance of resources, this added to the fact that they are excellent general gatherers make them indispensable for any tribe. Their antennules are very sensitive, allowing them to identify and locate a specific resource naturally in the nearest area, with the symbol of the resource being indicated in the direction (in order for the Tyrannophontes to locate a desired resource, the Locate Resource option of that feature is enabled, so just have a single unit of that resource in slot 0 and offer it to your Tyrannophontes so he can find the defined resource. Note, he will not consume the resource you offered, but will hold it in one of his maxillipeds). Males and Females would pick up resources with different efficiencies, the Males being Spearers would work like a metal sickle collecting more Tatch, Fiber, Berries, Rare Flower, Mushrooms, Flint, Organic Polymer, Meats and Silica Pearls, while the Females being Smashers, would work like a metal pickaxe/axe, collecting more Wood, Hide, Pelt, Chitin, Keratin, Crystal, Obsidian, Oil, Metal, Stone and Black Pearl (Tyrannophontes can be carried by Rhyniognatha thus allowing for a more efficient means of locomotion with a large amount of resources). Tyrannophontes are also immune to heat, cold and radiation, but the best thing about this is that they can absorb ambient temperature and radiation into their exoskeleton, making them almost like a walking "nuclear reactor". You can activate or deactivate his absorption option, but if you deactivated it after he absorbed one of the factors, if you activate it again he will no longer have it, he will have to reabsorb it. It can only absorb one factor at a time, if it is activated, it will continue to store the factor it has, to absorb another one that it wants, it must deactivate the one it has at the moment. When absorbing a factor, Tyrannophontes just stores it, press Ctrl + X Keys to release or store again that factor (when released, the factor lasts up to 24 hours in real life until it is completely depleted and cannot be reabsorbed in the meantime, but the time can be cut by disabling the option). Tyrannophontes gains significant traits and capabilities for each of the three factors it absorbs: In hot regions or places, Tyrannophontes absorb heat, they glow in a reddish orange hue with an aura on the body (resembling an Alpha creature), when releasing heat, a large area around Tyrannophontes will become very hot, but its allies will not suffer Dehydration or loss of health from this heat, on the contrary, allies and their tames will become more fire resistant in the presence of heat coming from Tyrannophontes (the same effect caused by consuming Wyvern Milk), this can be used to hatch eggs or keep the player warm when exploring cold areas, but best of all Tyrannophontes' physical attacks can also burn its enemies. In cold regions, Tyrannophontes absorb cold, they glow in an icy blue hue, with an aura of the same color on the body, when releasing cold, a large area around Tyrannophontes will become very cold, allies will have more resistance to cold and being frozen (but will not be totally immune to freezing), also useful for incubating Rock Drakes eggs and keeping players more refreshed in hot areas, but Tyrannophontes will be able to freeze its enemies when attacking them (not instantly, it will freeze a bit with each hit). In radioactive regions (I know that in The Center there are no places with radiation, but this factor would be very useful in Aberration), Tyrannophontes absorb radiation, when they become radioactive, they glow a fluorescent navy blue hue, but no need to worry as the Tyrannophontes' radiation does not affect the rider or allies, by releasing radiation, your Tyrannophontes will function both as a ranged defender, exposing radiation to virtually any threat, and as a Tek Generator, supplying power to any electrical devices in your base, be it on land or underwater bases, lasting around 24 hours in real life, until all the radiation is gone, it is very functional, as radiation is also a energy type (although Tyrannophontes' radiation has the same range as a Tek Generator, it is not capable of powering Tek devices). Just for fun, Tyrannophontes would mimic some survivor emotes (like Bloodstalker does). Saddle: Tyrannophontes's saddle can be unlocked at level 62 and crafted at the Smithy, with 210x Hide, 120x Fiber, 110x Cementing Paste, 380x Metal Ingot and 125x Crystal. The saddle is closed and prevents the player from losing oxygen or grabbed by some creature, in addition to preventing you from being exposed to external status, debuffs and any projectile attacks, its design would be a combination of the Magmasaur Saddle with the Roll Rat Saddle.
  11. Introducing Rheobatrachus volans, the Gliding Frog! This animal is based off of a combination of the recently extinct Gastric Brooding Frog and the living Wallace’s Flying Frog. Aberration is no stranger to downright weird wildlife, and what’s weirder than a combination of a frog that gives birth to live babies and a frog that can fly! If this creature was added, it’d certainly do wonders for ARK’s heavily lacking amphibian roster, along with adding something that Aberration sorely needs! The biggest part of Aberration, in my opinion, is the unique methods of transportation that are imposed on the player due to the environment. While end game choices like the Rock Drake are everything you could want and more for cave exploration, I feel like early game creatures like the Ravager and Roll Rat are lacking. Their movement abilities are interesting, but are either incredibly niche in use or aren’t really the best for the map (for example, as much as I love the Roll Rat, on Aberration it’s very prone to just rolling off a cliff, and struggles to turn in tight passageways). Rheobatrachus will be the answer to your early game transport needs and add a new, if a little goofy, way to travel in style! Let's hop into the concept! Table of Contents 1. Artwork 2. Dossier Text 3. Potential Base Stats and Spawning 4. Taming 5. Abilities and Controls - A Flying Frog? - Abilities - Controls 6. Supplementary Links Dossier Text Common Name: Gliding Frog Species: Rheobatrachus volans Time: Holocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Evasive Wild Apart from the size, Rheobatrachus volans bears strong resemblance to its recently extinct relatives… except for the fact that this super-charged frog can fly! Well, more like fall with style. Much like other frogs, its sticky toe pads allow it to grip a variety of surfaces with ease. However, the webbing between its digits is specifically designed to catch the air like a parachute! This allows it to leap great distances, then gently float back to earth without a scratch. An excellent adaptation for staying mobile in these twisting caverns! Somehow stranger than the gliding is its preferred method for avoiding predators… weaponised charge light! Females will produce ammunition in the form of specialised eggs, which they swallow and store in their stomach. When threatened, they burp them up, and the resulting blinding flash caused by the eggs bursting open stuns predators long enough for them to make their escape! The males aren’t defenceless either, filling their vocal sacs with charge to put foes in a trance, then croaking loudly to send them running! Domesticated While not the most adept climber, or the fastest glider, Rheobatrachus is the perfect choice for those just starting to explore the depths! The giant amphibian is especially popular thanks to its unique reproduction. Giving birth to live young means that it is far less water-dependent than its kin, making them much easier to keep in captivity. Any added mobility in these caves is invaluable, and its affinity for defending itself with charge light has saved my skin more times than I can count! Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 225 Stamina/Charge Capacity: 300 Charge Regeneration: 150 Food: 1500 Weight: 280 Melee Damage: See "Abilities and Controls" section for base damage values Torpidity: 175 Rheobatrachus would be found in the Fertile/Green Zones of Aberration. You may see this hybrid frog meandering along the ground, or resting in a lofty perch inside the caps of the giant fungal trees. I feel like having an animal, like the Archaeopteryx, that can be found roosting in trees would really help the map feel a lot more alive! All of the “activity” in ARK really happens at the player’s eye level, there’s rarely a reason to look upwards aside from trying to find a flyer. Having a creature that could bring some life to the tree canopy would be more than welcome! Taming While I love a good custom taming mechanic, an early game creature shouldn’t have anything too complex. Rheobatrachus would be a conventional KO tame, but I’d be open to any appropriate suggestions to spice things up! However, there are a few things to note about taming yourself a froggy friend… Diet Rheobatrachus likes to eat, in order of preference: Plant Species Z Fruit (kibble) Mutton Prime Meat I feel having it specifically require Z fruit as its kibble could make things a bit interesting. While intended to be an early game tame, if you really want to kibble tame it, you’ll have to wait till midgame to get a good one. Also, a few of its abilities would most certainly be useful for midgame and even into the lategame as a taming helper! Mobility These frogs are so fine tuned for movement, even bola-ing them down doesn’t stop them completely! I think it would add to the personality of the Rheo if it could still manage a (pitifully) slow crawl while trapped in a bola. Not the fastest or most dignified escape, but it’s all it can manage when its back legs are all tied up! Abilities and Controls A Flying Frog? First things first, lets get this out of the way. I hear you, how does this thing not invalidate creatures like Beelzebufo and Rock Drake? Simple, it has its own niche! Below is a handy dandy chart detailing how its mechanics differ from the rest of the bunch! Art also thanks to RRG! In terms of abilities: The Rheobatrachus would be a wonderful way to get around the upper regions of Aberration! While its combat prowess leaves a bit to be desired, it more than makes up for it in its utility! Both males and females can spread their webbed toes wide to catch the air below them, turning them into living parachutes! Both can also manage that awkward, but endearing, frog climb up a variety of surfaces! However, each has their own charge light themed abilities! Males Males are able to inflate their vocal sacs and fill them with charge light, turning them into a living lure that can slowly lead creatures to different locations. While the sac is inflated, you won’t be able to glide. Females Females will use their charge light stat to slowly produce ammunition, much like Rhyniognatha’s conversion of sap to resin. The ammo will be in the form of explosive eggs! These eggs can be shot out in front of them and create a flash of light, like Plant Species Z. A unique feature of this amphibian is its reproduction. It will give birth to live young when bred! In terms of controls: Left Click : A simple bite. 12 base damage. Harvests a good amount of chitin! Right Click : On males, this will do the equivalent of parasaur's scary honk. On females, it will be a small forward stomp with 20 base damage. C : Charge-based abilties! Males will glow and lure things towards them, females will shoot out a singular egg from their ammunition stockpile. Left-Control : Activates climbing mode. Being a frog, this fella can climb, just nowhere near as fast as creatures like the Rock Drake or Megalania. Really, its climbing is just enough to help you not have to take the long way round if you fall off a cliff. Spacebar : Leap! Can be aimed much like the Procoptodon's/Karkinos' jump. Holding spacebar activates the parachute. 14. This a special post it has three separate dossiers of three giraffids ancestors. Common Name : Xiezhi Species Name : Discokeryx Xiezhi Time : Early Miocene Temperament : Aggressive Wild This solitary thick-headed herbivore is often seen fighting other members of its species. This Equess sized Giraffe is one of the strongest small herbivores on the island capable of taking out a full grown Carno with ease while also being fast enough to run away if need be. But it rarely ever runs away from a fight similar to the island's Pachy. Common Name : Prolibytherium Species Name : Prolibytherium Ultima Time : Middle Miocene Temperament : Passive/Skittish Wild Common Name : Sivatherium Species Name : Sivatherium Giganteum Time : Late Miocene Temperament : Passive Wild
  15. Gigantophis in history was the first known sea snake. However, the Titanoboa was a constrictor snake in reality, however ark turned it into a viper. Why not flip the script? Gigantophis would be a massive snake, outgrowing the basalisk easily. They would be found around the eggs of other wild creatures where they would attempt to consume them whole, aswell as their parents. They do not bite and wait for venom to kill, Instead they wrap around creatures and choke them to death before swallowing them whole. Gigantophis however must defend its own eggs, leading them to hold their eggs in a special throat pouch in their gullet. Killing certain wild female specimens will lead them to drop their own eggs, allowing for taming While tamed the possibilities are many. Being able to bypass and immobilize massive health targets with a giant constrictor snake could act as a great counter to high health targets, and a reason to pump oxygen on tames. They could carry friendly eggs, Maybe even transport mass amount of players These massive snakes have a special taste for eggs of wyverns, leading them to be found close to their nests WE GONNA ADD SOME COMMENT IDEAS NOW Gigantophis may include sexual dimorphism, adding traits of horned rattlesnakes to males while keeping females fairly plain in terms of protrusions but having much more varied markings Oxygen drain from constricting creatures can be toggled by radial wheel, either becoming lethal and killing the creature or being more relaxed and only knocking them out. However, this would only work on creatures sufficiently sized so as to not be crushed by the weight of the massive snake. However it would be the most efficient way to knock out these creatures A big thing with this concept for Gigantophis is that it DOES NOT HAVE VENOM. It is purely a constrictor snake and not a viper like the in game titanoboa or basalisks. If it wants to bite something to death instead of constricting or swallowing it whole, it has to do so by slowly gnawing on a target. Gigantophis would be able to be escaped from, both wild and tamed. Similar to hacking a Strider or playing a Mammoth's war drum saddle. Hitting these checks consistently will allow the creature or player to break free from the grip of the snake. Going faster the more damage the creature can do to it. HOWEVER, if the creature fails any checks it will lose a burst of oxygen. Causing them to suffocate even faster. That and creatures that deal recoil damage when being hurt would be TERRIFYING counters to it. Such as Kentros or the KBD Ankylosaurus Also this is an idea from a friend but the idea of making this thing able to hold its breath for a long time, allowing it to be used as a deadly aquatic creature on other maps it may be transferred to. Choking out creatures as it drags them into the depths. IMPORTANT For those reading this far you've likely seen or heard of the LoadedCrysis video on this suggestion. ONLY VOTE FOR IT IF YOU LIKE IT. No one should be using their community to get a creature into the game. I'm happy that people like my idea, but I don't want a following to be the reason it gets in.

  17. I believe the Barbary Lion would be a great addition to ARK, while we do have the Shadowmane and the Sabertooth. The Lion would be different as it would be around thyla size and be able to jump somewhere between saber and thyla. Males would have a Mane and females wouldn’t. Spawning: They would spawn in prides including a male maybe a few females and a few cubs and they would have a pride boost. They would be somewhat rare spawns as they are pretty much extinct. They would spawn in desert and mountainous areas. They would probably be most prominent on scorched earth. I think the cubs should spawn the same that wyverns and Tek Dino’s do a little higher lvl than difficulty and the others should spawn up to your difficulty level. Abilities: RT would be a normal bite LT would be a bite that does bleed only able to do so with a pride like an allo. The male would have a roar that would buff the pride and the female able to sniff out corpses like a dire wolf. It would also ignore armor with the bleed bite. Taming: If you find a pride there would be a male and at least one female and a cub. You would have to kill the male knockout the female take her milk like a wyvern and cubnap the cub. And when it grows to juvenile it will eat meat. I’m not really sure if this is balanced or not so feel free to comment. I’m also not very good at artwork so here is something from Reddit.
