  1. Neprodiregem is a crustation that resembles a lobster with giant fist like claws that work as a harvester under water that work extremely efficency even better then the anky it will move under water sort of like karkinos in the way that it cant swim and just walks instead it will have an ability where it can use its powerfull tail to swim only up to the surface in case your character needs air it will have really high base healthpool and base wieght the neprodiregem will have an ability to harvest silica pearls with to far smaller appendages under its body, neprodiregem will have 50% weight reduction on the following oil, metal, stone, obsidian and flint but only when underwater if you venture on to land with this guy he will recieve a debuff wich causes 20% reducaed walk speed and 20% less damage and on top of that it loses it wieght reducation but there is an upside if you give neprodiregem a water canteen the neprodiregem will gain all of its under water capabilitys for five minutes this can stack if given enough water, this giant lobster will also have two different saddles you will have the normal saddle with 25.0 armor and 20 wieght then you can have a muchmore expensive saddle wich will look something like metal around its fists and bodythis saddle will provide the rider and mount more armor and lots of damage but will reduce possible resouces from nodes. the neprodiregem will be a carnivore at the deepest parts of the ocean i have not chosen the taming style but i know it cant be tamed threw tanqs because its armor will not allow it. This Idea was made by a Friend of mine 👍
  2. COMMON NAME: Nyctosaurus SPECIES: N. anemosilectus TIME: Late Cretaceous DIET: Piscivore TEMPERAMENT: Neutral WILD: Few creatures are more striking to behold than Nyctosaurus anemosilectus. This semiaquatic pterosaur can sometimes be found roosting atop any of the tall spires rising from this ark's multitude of tropical islands. Although normally docile unless provoked, Nyctosaurus does not like being disturbed while roosting and will attack anything that does so. This can be avoided by approaching under the cover of a ghillie suit, but be careful because it will still attack if the survivor approaches with a mount! This can make a roosting Nyctosaurus quite difficult to reach, but feeding it fish meat can earn its trust. DOMESTICATED: Nyctosaurus' saddle is a large sail fastened to its L-shaped crest and a surfboard-like platform strapped to its back, transforming the creature into some kind of living sailboard. Using its beak like a rudder and its wings to make tight drifting turns, a saddled Nyctosaurus is the most efficient means of travel across the water's surface. Although the sail, when unfurled, impedes Nyctosaurus' ability to fly, the saddle can be switched to “furled mode” where the sail is folded up against the crest. This enables the pterosaur to freely fly and dive. The crest also functions like a lightening rod, absorbing electrical shocks and rendering both mount and rider immune to attacks from the ocean's bioelectric denizens. ARTIST'S NOTES: I've been sitting on this idea for a LONG time, having actually forgotten about it after a point until something recently jogged my memory of it—just in time for this contest! It seems like most submissions to these contests are mid- to late-game tames with sometimes complicated taming methods and even more complicated abilities. For once it'd be nice to get a simple early- to mid-game tame with one or two straight-forward but incredibly fun abilities. The inspiration behind this was the debate as to whether or not the L-shaped crests of Nyctosaurus and kin supported membranes. Depictions of sailed nyctosaurs reminded me of sailboards, and that's when the bulb lit in my brain. Honestly, how cool would this be? Let's get this crazy idea into the game!
  3. Hello just passing by to say at the beginning that I'm not good at English and this creature is not mine I'm posting just to try to help this creature that I found so magnificent The siamogale or giant otter is a creature that will live in small gangs Having a gang bonus where there will be no alpha it will have a basic attack being excellent for polymer farm Biome spawn: icebergs frozen lakes and cold waters Wild state: will not attack any creature but if attacked it will fight back and the whole gang will fight back they will only attack penguins aquatic animals whether tamed or wild Taming: you will have to feed penguin bodies there so taming will start she will start following you with you being able to ride her you will have to find pearls with her having a time of 10 minutes for taming Skills:Will throw white pearls at its targets leaving creatures in a stunned state for 0'5 seconds If instead of white pearls you put black pearls on your otter it will be able to shoot them with increased stun effect and leaving you with blindness because black pearls will be rare they will be guided When killing a tusoteuthis with the otter, she will be able to take its tentacles and use it as a trophy in her mouth, now being able to take pearls in the sand of the sea with the tentacle And she will also be immune to jellyfish and eels and having a buff to decrease oxygen loss being different from the diplo that gives you oxygen it will decrease the loss Her saddle will cost to be done 290 fibers 145 leathers 30 pearls 18 metal ingots It can be learned at level 48 Base stats 680: Health 300: stamina Infinite: Oxigênio 41: Damage 800: Torpor Speed similar to that of an iguanodon Similar swimming speed of a karproshuchus I am not the author of this creature Please send the original author the credits are his
  4. HELLO SURVIVORS! ❤️ I have decided to submit a creation / idea of my own and I hope you all enjoy. Since the creature vote is based on "The Center" I thought it fitting to create an aquatic based creature that can also travel on land as there is a lot of ocean on The Center. And before you say it, I know I know, "another giga like creature". but in my defence we have 2 land gigas, 1 sky giga but nothing really for the ocean that matches that strength. And we all know Wild Card can change this idea as they see fit and make it a basic creature if that is their vision. WARNING - I did my best to check spelling and stuff but I am dyslexic so take it easy on me -------------------------- Name - Confractosuchus Sauroktonos Period - Cretaceous Diet - Carnivore Temperament - Agressive -------------------------- INFO The Confractosuchus Sauroktonos or "Sauroktonos / Saurok for short" Was discovered in Australia in the mid 90's and named in 2006 and was found to be severely dismembered and broken so constructing the exact physical appearance was basically impossible. The fact that the fossils were found to be so broken and missing, as well as having a meal in its stomach, lead to its naming Confractosuchus sauroktonos or "Broken Dinosaur Killer". It was said to belong to an undiscovered species of giant crocodile and the fossils found were that of a juvenile but still extremely large. Since little is known of how this giant croc may have looked, I have created my vision of how I would imagine this creature to have looked and I hope you enjoy. --------------------------- Wild Sauroktonos mainly live in the waters as this is where their movement and skills shine as a predator. They spend 90% of their days swimming near the surface and never staying in one area as they have no natural predators that hunt them in the water. They do however have one natural enemy on land, the Giga, and they never pass on an oppertunity to battle it out with their favorite meal. Much like the Spino, the Sauroktonos can live both in the water and on land, but their skills truly shine when faced in the water. They are swift ambush predators when swimming with the ability to snatch larger prey from the shore line back into the ocean in their massive powerful jaws. Some say while experiencing one of these ambush attacks, it is much like a bolt of lightning. One minute everything is peaceful and the next your best dino companion is gone. --------------------------- Domesticated Little is known on how to tame one of these Giga like sea monsters, but survivors have reported that when the Sauroktonos stand against their natural foe and they sense that you have helped them in their victory, they have been known to reward you by bowing their heads and offering a thrilling ride to the depths of the ocean where they can show you their true power. When facing a giga the Sauroktonos's power is unmatched. Those that have tamed these majestic beasts have boasted about the skills the Sauroktonos offer the rider. Some say whilst on the back of the Sauroktonos they suddenly find themselves breathing under water. It's almost as if the Sauroktonos have enveloped them in an air tight bubble secreted from the glands on the back of its neck. It has also been stated that this bubble also protects the rider from external dangers such as electric attacks from eels, and causes all attempts to attack the rider to be repelled such as the attacks from a swarm of dimorphs and even the futile attacks from other survivor weapons. Along with this protection, the Sauroktonos uses the sensitive fins on its neck to send out pulses under water that soothe or repel most aquatic creatures. On land this is turned into a fierce roar that taunts all nearby creatures into battling with this war hungry serpent, and bolsters the speed and stamina of all allies in the area including itself. And as mentioned before, it has the strength in its jaws to pick up and devour creatures smaller than itself. No survivor has been successful in fashioning a saddle for this creature, but it seems to not be needed as the back of this creature is protected by a layer of razor sharp armor that grows over the years from the depths of the sea. Some say that they have sighted some elder Sauroktonos that have so much coral growth on their back that it becomes its own ecosystem for life and aquatic resources. Any mele attacks against the Sauroktonos have been known to tear the attacker to shreds as the battle wages on. When the Sauroktonos's life is threatened, much like the giga, it enters an enraged state where it lets out a roar none wish to hear again. In this state the Sauroktonos's speed and resistances are unmatched and it becomes a bloodthirsty killer. None are safe while this creature is in this state aside from the bonded rider, not even your own tribe. --------------------------- Abilities Left click - Slow but strong bite attack that has a small chance to weaken the enemy's armor values. Right click - "Under water" - Sends out a pulse that soothe and repel most aggressive creatures. "On Land" - Lets out a fierce roar that taunts creatures in the surrounding area to attack and bolsters the speed and stamina of itself and nearby allies. C - "Under Water" - Rapidly sweeps its tail back and forth gaining a short but quick boost of speed. "On Land" - Performs a short lunge forward, bowing its head and knocking creatures back. X - "Only on Land" - Quickly clamps down on a creature smaller than itself and lifts it off the ground. While doing this it can either do a normal attack to kill the creature or simply walk around with its new pet. CTRL - Oozes a strange liquid from the back of its neck covering the rider for a period of time. This liquid both allows the rider to breathe under water and be protected from attacks due to its thick jelly like form. Passives - Has thick coral like armor covering its back and the top of its head. This armor both makes its resistances to physical damage higher than normal and causes considerable recoil damage to attackers. When below 50% HP it lets out a bone chilling roar that skyrockets its speed and slightly raises its natural defense's. I hope you all enjoy this creation! Let me know your thoughts below as all positive and negative thoughts are appreciated. Remember that Wild Card may change any and all of the creatures abilities if they deem fir to balance the creature for both pvp and pve. 5. Meganeuropsis permiana Species Meganeura permiana Time Early permian Diet Carnivore Temperament Territorial Wild Meganeuropsis permiana is an absolutely gigantic dragonfly, even more so than Meganeura quatpenna. It’s larvae can grow up to the size of a basilosaurus, making it one of the top predators of the local ecosystem. It hunts by hiding at the bottom of it’s habitats waiting for unsuspecting prey to swim over it. Once it spots it’s meal it uses it’s special lower jaw to grab the critter and devour it. But it also excells in combat. With it’s lower jaw it has a great reach and hits hard, while it’s chitin armour protects it from damage. When permiana’s maturation is complete it sheds it’s skin and emerges as an adult dragonfly. In this form it sacrifices it’s combat prowess in exchange for extreme flight speed and mobility as well as high carrying strength. But it’s still a formidable opponent, being able to grab smaller creatures, including survivors, mid flight and eat them. Like many modern Dragonflies the males protect their nesting grounds and attack anything in it’s territory with swift attacks until they find a partner for mating. Domesticated Once tamed, the permiana is a useful asset in every tribe. It’s adult form is a great beast of burden with high speeds and it’s semiaquatic larval form is a fierce fighter that can take on many enemies at once. Also, the permiana is able to stay in it’s larval form indefinetely, only shedding it’s skin when it’s owner commands it to do so, giving them the choice whether they want a strong battle mount or a fast scout. Concept Meganeuropsis permiana is a prehistoric insect very similar to modern dragonflies and probably the biggest flying insect to have ever lived. Dragonflies are best known for their adult form, flying fast and agile and hunting smaller insects, but dragonfly larvae are equally as vicious as dragonflies and are ambush predators, hiding at the bottom of their habitat and catching other insects, tadpoles, or even small fish! When tamed it starts out in it’s larval form. It is supposed to be an alternative to the basilo for caving, hunting and fighting. It is semiaquatic and can survive and fight on dry land, making it viable for swamps or caves which are only partially submerged in water. But one of Meganeuropsis permiana’s key features is the ability to leave it’s larval form and become an adult dragonfly. The Dragonfly form of Meganeuropsis permiana is exactly what you would imagine: a gigant dragonfly able to carry a rider and a swift and agile flyer. It loses it’s ability to swim and isnt too fast on the ground, being primarily a beast of burden and scouting tame. Abilities Larvae: -AOE main attack with it’s lower jaw -hydration buff, making it more viable in aquatic environments -grab attack: it can grab and damage a single creature, similar to karkinos -slight damage reduction (maybe 10 or 20%) due to it’s chitin armour Dragonfly: -360 degree turning(on the spot) -very fast flight in every direction, but can only sprint forwards -can grab creatures to carry them, or if activated slowly damage them to regain food -thanks to it’s extremely advanced eyes it can spot and highlight certain creatures which the player chooses in a menu -high weight and stamina stat for resource hauling and looting/scouting flights -can cling to walls and trees to regain stamina (like real dragonflies which often sit on plants to regain stamina :)) Equipment: -standard saddle, useable for both forms -tek saddle for dragonfly which enables it to shoot plasma bolts and perform a dash dealing damage to everything it collides with. (Larval form can also shoot plasma bolts, if you can come up with some special ability which suits it please reply) -No rider weaponry because the larvae should be strong enough and the dragonfly isn't supposed to be too much of a fighter Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meganeuropsis Wikipedia article to modern dragonflies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonfly
  6. "The Koreaceratops will increase your effective exploration range. For your safety please pack supplies for long journeys, and always stay within 5km of the surface" - HLN-A Species: Koreaceratops Lanceae Time: Mid-Cretaceous Diet: omnivorous (and Cnidaria venom) Temperament: Territorial (aggressive against Cnidaria) WILD Koreaceratops is a curious creature, this bipedal species of small ceratopsids are often located on the shores of arkas in search of their favorite food.... CNIDARIAS, surprisingly the biology of this species was adapted to deal with these pesky creatures (perhaps as a way to control the population of these) although their bite in itself is enough to damage any adversary they are also capable of attacking from a distance by shooting a small but powerful jet of water that can easily knock the creatures out. DOMESTICATED Although Koreaceratops are immune to many types of narcotics and poisons due to their particular diet I have seen the survivor get a group of these creatures as mounts, they are usually used as collection mounts on land but they stand out more in the high seas where tribes have used their eagerness to eat Cnidaria to their advantage making them great mounts to take the resources that these and other marine invertebrates generate and use them to their advantage combining these resources with their characteristic water jets, from giving them a paralyzing effect with Cnidaria bile to using it as a blinding projectile with Tusho oil, no wonder this creature became so unique to me. - Helena ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are you tired of dying in the middle of the water because of a group of jellyfish? Do you want to take revenge on them? Do you want to regulate their population and at the same time raise awareness of how important turtles are for the ecosystem of our world? THEN VOTE FOR KOREACERATOPS AND YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE SOLVED!!!! Koreaceratops will be of great help exploring the seas of ark and The Center and even help you to farm different materials from the creatures that live here, I hope you like it and in case I don't see you, good evening, good afternoon and good night. 7. Good afternoon, survivors! After being stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. May I present the wonderful, splendid looking and immaculately moisturized hadrosaur.. THE ANATOSAURUS! The Hadrosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that I hold close to my heart, and as an enjoyer of older depictions of these animals I thought that ARK could really do with another duckbill in its roster - and especially one with a twist like this.. Dossier Common Name: Anatosaurus Species: Anatosaurus hiruphagus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral (Aggressive towards bug repellant) Wild An oddity amongst its relatives ornithopods. They are native to the steamy swamps of The Center’s ring and possess an amphibious lifestyle, spending their days happily grazing upon aquatic vegetation and occasionally dousing their slimy bodies in mud to protect against the harsh sun. Coincidentally this behavior also acts as a form of medication, covering over open wounds and cleaning them of debris. This however is largely irrelevant, as at full maturity an Anatosaurus is too large to fall prey to predators with the exception of a lucky Sarcosuchus. Herds of Anatosaurus will often slumber peacefully upon riverbanks, their unique odor attracting droves of flies and other nasty insects. It is to be noted however that whilst a predominantly herbivorous creature an Anatosaur will never pass down an opportunity to devour its favourite treat, leeches - a craving that swamp dwelling survivors have learned to use in their favor. Domesticated Due to their apparent disdain of bug-repelling gel, the act of taming an Anatosaurus is one fit for only the most daring of survivors. These strengthened few have been documented allowing leeches to suck onto them and then wading around until one of the hadrosaurs is drawn to the scent. With one of the parasites latched onto their body the survivor will find soon themselves in the clutches of a hungry hadrosaur, eager to lap down their offering. It is a lengthy process, but by no means is it worthless. Once tamed, Anatosaurus can make for robust beasts of burden within the territory of a developing tribe. Their use as a mount both above and below the water allows them to be utilized in a variety of tasks, namely aqueous foraging and exploration. Whilst not impeccably fast nor strong the hadrosaurs are capable of dealing with a variety of threats by either being steered by their jockey to fight, or to simply flee into the nearest lake or river and make an escape. However the most notable service an Anatosaurus can provide is, oddly enough, its viscous saliva, the production of which can be manipulated upon the animal's consumption of silica pearls. This fluid can, in moderation, be used as a stand in for leech blood in the production of the lesser antidote - an item of high demand in populous areas. Due to the potential obscurity of the ingame dossier, I feel it is best to formally chronicle Anatosaurus' taming method and usage here. TAMING Not unlike recent additions to the game the method of taming an Anatosaurus is quite different than your standard "knock-out-and -feed" creature. The way the player goes about obtaining this buffalo-like beast is quite engaging, as it requires a fairly coordinated plan as to not perish in the swamp's murky waters. Anatosaurus is by default a neutral creature, however in the presence of a player wearing bug repellant it will quickly grow to become hostile. This is because in order to gain its trust, you must feed the hadrosaur its favourite treat - the disgusting leeches - and to do so you must let the parasites latch onto you. With a leech (or multiple) on you, any Anatosaurus within a certain vicinity will grow attracted and make their way over. They will then reach forward and pick up the player and pluck the leech(es) off of you, before dropping you to the ground and carrying on. The more leeches on you, the more the taming bar increases, and proportionally as does the cooldown between feedings. Similar to other passive tames if the hadrosaur happens to take any creature or player induced damage then the bar will reset, however their large size does make it so that usual swamp life such as Titanoboa and Kaprosuchus rarely bother going after them. They will be attracted to you, though.. STATISTICS Since it is ultimately the devs' decision in case I hit a stroke of luck and get voted through I will not be going over specifics in stats for the Anatosaurus. I will provide a rough estimation made by my friend for it's base stats and spawn rates however, but take this with a grain of salt. (Stats at Level 1) Health - 500 Stamina - 200 Oxygen - 400 Food - 2500 Weight - 300 (Spawns) Only in swamps with a rate of 1 every 40 minutes. Doesn't get targetted by swamp animals with the exception of Sarcos but will be attacked by other non-swamp life upon getting close to them. USAGE Anato is all around a fairly decent mount that will serve a middle game tribe quite well in the exploration department. Its running speed is slightly slower than fellow ornithopod Iguanodon, however it burns through stamina much quicker. In the water however the Anatosaurus is capable of swimming around as fast as the Baryonyx, and its stamina consumption is decreased immensely. As for combat, it is the epitome of average. If need be an Anato can defend itself from smaller threats and is by no means defenseless, but when it comes to a pack of Allos or other larger theropod it is best to steer clear. It is because of this reason that it is advisable to stick within a brisk sprint to a water source to make an escape if nescessary. Anato would also possess two mouse abilities; a simple arm swipe tied to LMB, and a pick up for RMB. Now, onto Anatosaurus' main three abilities; the serendipitous slobber, carrying and its skin care rituals. MUD BATH Being an amphibious creature it made sense to give this Anato the ability to coat itself in wet sediment to give itself the aptly named 'Mud' buff. Preferably requiring you to be standing on ground close to water, an Anatosaurus can be whistled to give itself a luxurious dousing of mud that will temporarily grant it a 50% resistance to bleed as well as increased healing. The buff will last around 5 minutes at most and have a 10 minute cooldown in order to even it out. This ability will give it just that little bit more protection out in the field, plus you cannot lie that it fits the whole rompin' stompin' aura that this hadrosaur emits. When mounted this ability can be activated with at default the C key, and will grant the player a temporary heat resistance buff - the perfect dino to cool down on a hot summers' day! One thing to be noted however is that this mud coating will wear off as soon as you enter water. This is to encourage land exploration with the buff active. ANTIDOTAL SALIVA Have you ever logged in to a server only to find the spawn zones plagued with beach bobs spreading Swamp Fever to every last person who enters? Ever wished that there was a way to make the tedious process that comes with making the antidote.. A little less so? Well, those days are no more with a tamed Anatosaurus in your tribe! Due to living in one of the most revolting places known to man the Anatosaurus has grown unbothered with the mere concept of infections, and its craving for leeches has made it immune to the nasty pathogens found in the parasites' systems. It is because of this that the hadrosaur is a living cure for the scourge of Swamp Fever. It's bodily fluids are revered by tribes due to their medicinal properties, and its saliva in particular, which can be harvested from a tamed Anato's inventory roughly 10 seconds after feeding it a proportional number of silica pearls, which is placed in the hotbar and fed with "E". The cooldown is short, about 30 seconds. It is to be noted that high level Anatos require more pearls whilst low levels require less, so fairly standard. This saliva can be used as a substitute for leech blood in the recipe of lesser antidote vials, making the Anatosaurus an impeccably useful tame even long after its days of exploration are over in an apex level tribe. CARRYING Tying in to its use as an exploration mount the Anatosaurus possesses the charming ability to pick up smaller creatures and even certain structures in its webbed hands and bring them along on your escapades! Of course there is a limit for both, with the largest creature able to be carried being the player, and for structures it is the small item box. This means that the Anato would be useful as a means to set up temporary camps along your routes, or even assist in the moving of small tames and storage from one base spot to another. Whilst (hopefully) self explanatory, I thought I'd disclose the fact that when holding an object/creature, the Anatosaurus will not be able to use its LMB swipe attack. THANK YOU FOR READING! I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur!
  8. Introducing the Lagosuchus by JustCallMeAL, Common Name: Lagosuchus, Species: Lagosuchus Capax, Time: Late Triassic, Diet: Carnivorous, Temperament: Aggressive. Dossier: wild- Crazy is just one of those Ark norms I’ve grown used to as crazy fits the cut here. The Lagosuchus is a crazy impressive as they are capable hunters too, shockingly they’re quite traversal, terrain is no issues for them which makes escape harder. From what I’ve been observing they always found and stay in numbers and primarily inhabit the swamps, rivers and beaches. A fascinating behavior I see from them is their hunting behavior, every time they down something they get whipped up into a frenzy and get stronger as a result I’ve seen them hunt large things with no problems truly quite a force. I’ve seen that they don’t tolerate bleed well and steer clear from creatures that specialize in that. Domesticated- I’m impressed with the capabilities of these fascinating creatures. Taming one requires to dispatch of its pack which then immediately brings it into a docile state, then you work on gaining its trust by feeding it carcasses the better the hilarity they are the better the process goes to gain its favor. As far as their viability goes there’s no shortage! They can traverse many types of environments and terrain with ease. As mentioned earlier their pack and frenzy abilities make them all the more better to handle and survive the Ark with. They also gain a power buff by eating amphibians they really like them. About Lagosuchus: Abilities- climbing, they can climb vertical surfaces and ceilings efficiently, traversal, they traverse well through water and uneven terrain with good speed too. Buffs- Pack Buff they’re stronger together in numbers, Frenzy Buff the more things they eat the stronger they are raising attack and defense and of course when you don’t keep up with the buff you lose it (I was thinking it would last 30 seconds) Amphibian Bonus they like amphibians a lot that they gain strength. Latch Ability- The Lagosuchus has the ability to latch on to large things and deal good damage while being safe it of course comes with the cost of your stamina. Draw Back- they aren’t resistant to gnash effects and take 2x the amount of damage taken from it. I figured this guy needed some sort of kryptonite. Taming- like I mentioned get rid of its pack it can’t be tamed with others it has to be by itself. When you do so then it will get docile and passive drag a carcass to it (the better the creature that the carcass is the better it goes) when you keep doing this it will warm up to you and stay by you and it drools as an indication that it’s hungry, amphibians make the process go quicker. I hope you guys like my Idea/Submission and I hope you guys also dig its concept. Best to everyone who’s submitted and is a part of this!
  9. Species: Josephoartigasia Monesi Time: Late Pliocene to Early Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Roaming the lush landscapes of The Center's swamps, the Josephoartigasia, affectionately known as the 'Prehistoric Capybara' due to their shared appearance (although they are not directly related, more like cousins) brings a unique blend of charm and strength to Ark Survival Evolved. Despite its adorable appearance, this prehistoric rodent possesses a set of intriguing abilities that make it an invaluable companion for adventurous survivors. The Josephoartigasia is a semi-aquatic creature, well-adapted for navigating between the small islands of The Center. With its powerful legs and webbed feet, it moves gracefully both on land and in water, making it a versatile creature for exploration and resource gathering. Its bite, while powerful enough to break trees (meaning it can harvest wood as well as berries) and rivals the strength of a sabertooth or terror bird, are typically only used in self-defense, due to their calming pheromones making them invisible to most predators, or for building of burrows. Domesticated: Survivors who tame the Josephoartigasia discover its true potential as a mobile base and a reliable transport companion. Its friendly nature and gentle temperament make it a docile addition to any tribe. In fact, it's so docile, dinosaurs around it are also soothed! (although it may just be because of the calming pheromones they give off). The true wonder of this creature, however, lies in its saddle wagon. Wagon Saddle Concepts: The Josephoartigasia's unique saddle has two separate designs, one that's a four-wheeled wagon and the other a two-wheeled chariot. (Something like this) The chariot design offers ample storage capacity for resources and supplies, but is limited to two riders (a driver and an armed passenger). Survivors can load up the chariot with ammo and equipment, making a quick vehicle for hit and run tactics, scouting missions, or for quick resource runs (because you're always lacking one of something, amirite?). The chariot also allows for extra chaos, allowing for the driver to reverse the effects of the Josephoartigasia's pheromones, causing any dinosaur not being ridden to go into a temporary rampage and start attacking everything in the immediately area, even tamed dinosaurs from the same tribe and friendly tribe members. The (Actual) Wagon Saddle: The wagon saddle is larger than the chariot, and can be built upon, as the saddle is the size of two foundations side by side. This allows for the wagon to be used as a stealthy mobile base (for scouting and avoiding those pesky alpha tribe patrolling the skies), traveling shops and traders (for those who love to roleplay), for sieging walled off bases as siege ladders and mobile ballista (which are a lot faster than Paracers), for looking over the treetops as sniper towers (when built tall enough), or as a mobile respawn point to protect those around it from wild dinos. Of course, there's also a normal one passenger saddle, but it's rather boring. The Tek version of the normal saddle, however, turns the Josephoartigasia into a high-speed battering ram, with a cowcatcher on the front and a built-in air tank full of the Josephoartigasia's pheromones. This tank lets the rider mix different consumables in with the pheromones to temporarily boost the Josephoartigasia. Stimulant = Faster sprinting (like giving a seven year old a mountain dew) Re-Fertilizer = Increased health regeneration & disabling the food loss from healing (as the berries in its stomach start to regrow what was already digested) Rare Flowers = Boosted damage Taming: Taming the Josephoartigasia requires patience and a gentle approach. Offering one its favorite food (which changes randomly between the different growable crops, different seeds, and beer after every feeding), petting it when it asks to be petted, and not leaving it's "pheromone range" will cause the Josephoartigasia's pheromones (now mixed with the survivor's scent) to turn against the Josephoartigasia, slowly taming it. Once tamed, survivors can begin their adventures with this adorable yet powerful creature. Size: Between an Equus and a Trike. (About this big normally, and slightly bigger for Ark) Stats: About as fast as a charging Trike with the wagon, as fast as a full speed dire bear with the chariot, and can keep up with raptors when not saddled. (forgive me for not being good with actual numbers) Now, into the abilities: (I'm on Playstation, so I'm going to explain it with those buttons) Chariot Saddle - A: Jump (not a big jump, but big enough to leap over a single wall) A (while sprinting): Leap (shorter jump, but leaps across four foundation wide gaps) Pressed left stick: Sprint Right trigger: Bite attack Right trigger (while sprinting): Headbutt Left trigger: Pheromone blast (temporarily disables the ability to attack to all dinosaurs nearby, also raises imprinting on baby dinosaurs caught in the blast by like 5%) Left trigger (while sprinting): Crop dust (releases a trail of pheromones that makes enemy dinos in range rampage) Wagon saddle - A (while sprinting): E-break (instantly stop at the cost of some stamina) Pressed left stick: Sprint (slowly builds up to top speed like a dire bear) Right trigger: Burst of speed (forgos the build-up to instantly reach max speed, however it drains a lot of stamina) Right trigger (while sprinting): Smokescreen (immediately de-aggros wild dinos and temporarily prevents enemies from attacking) Left trigger: Scared Toot (Temporarily boosts speed if an enemy is inside pheromone range, however will cause the Joe to panic and start ignoring its rider's controls until far enough away from said enemy) Left trigger (while sprinting): Fear Fart (Temporarily boosts speed and damage resistance, but will begin to panic even faster). With the Josephoartigasia by your side, you can explore the wonders of The Center map like never before. Look at this thing! Imagine it pulling ballistas up to the front gates of a base! It's so chonky! Its wagon and chariot saddles open up exciting possibilities for nomadic tribes and resourceful survivors, and can be quite the fun addition to The Center. Cast your vote for the Josephoartigasia, and see The Center from a whole new perspective. Go Joe!
  10. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiktaalik Species: Tiktaalik cavernus Time: Late Devonic Temperament: Egg protector Diet: Piscivore Wild: If you go through of the caves, more specifically for its caves, it is most likely that you will find a Tiktaalik, at first sight, they seem peacefully, but if you annoy it, it will become aggressive towards you, biting you, hiting you with its tail and head. It swim so fast but even in mainland it goes at a good velocity. One of its most weird behaviors is that it usually consume element, that makes that elemental fragments increases around its body, which makes it have more power overall. Domesticated: To tame a Tiktaalik, it's simple, this criatures doesn't have the enough intelligence for being your friends, the only thing you can do is catch one of its eggs that will be floating on the water, but the father and the mother will be protecting the egg, which will difficult so much catch the egg. When you have your adult Tiktaalik tamed you will have different advantages apart from the habilities already mentioned; like for example, after kill different arthropods, your Tiktaalik will get an hormone that will return its skin tone in a reddish color that also will multiply its stats during 15 minutes, with another habilities that will depend about how have you raised your baby Tiktaalik. You also will can put a platform on its back to build your little semiaquatic/portable base.
  11. Back with another - HEEEELP! HEELP MEEEEE Anyway funny ammonite Name - Crioceratites Lux Period - Early Cretaceous Diet - Carnivore Temperament - Neutral DOSSIER WILD Hidden within the bioluminescent chambers of the broken Ark, Crioceratities Lux, despite being a recognizable species from prehistoric times, has mutated and evolved to such a bizarre and extreme extent that it seems right at home with the many colossal monsters lining this Ark's deepest depths. Roughly around the size of the giant crabs it shares its habitat with, Crioceratites is uniquely adapted to both life in bioluminescent environments and life within water, but is also surprisingly capable on solid ground, able to filter oxygen and breathe, but not able to survive for long unless properly hydrated. What most immediately notice about Crioceratites is the large, spiral shell it houses its otherwise soft, squishy body in, large enough to house its entire body, tentacles included. The outside is lined with large protruding spikes, which can be used as both defense, and, surprisingly, allow Crioceratites to move when terrestrial, rolling around like a giant spiked wheel, although its speed is rather negligible when compared to the likes of the Roll Rat. This shell, as well as its true body, are lined with a unique bioluminescent chemical that allows them to produce charge, just like the Microluminus family. The ability to control and flash the lights allows them to intimidate would-be predators, and the charge scares away the otherwise fearsome Nameless. DOMESTICATED Taming Crioceratites is no easy task, but should one pull it off, you have yourself a handy mount for entering the depths of the broken Ark thanks to their tough, spiky shell and the ability to produce charge passively. They're rather lacking in pure offense, however, and instead are best used as a disruptive support mount to accompany your large powerhouses. Their tentacles, which are able to flash just as its shell can, are able to outright release powerful charge lasers akin to the charge lantern, stunning aggressors in their tracks or weakening the likes of Nameless and Reapers. When in a pinch, Crioceratites can retract into their shell and roll away, though, due to this unique habit of theirs, the saddle is uniquely placed to ensure lack of dizziness and safety while rolling, so you'll also have to deal with the sticky insides of their shell until you've stopped. MECHANICS Standing at a size rivaling the Karkinos, held aloft by large tentacles, the Crio is a colossal ammonite. Like the crab as well, it's a rather slow walker and sprinter, having poor stamina and struggling with steep terrain, but this is however made up for with its unique ability to curl up into its shell. When doing so, the Crio gains the ability to roll using said shell, allowing for improved movement speed using less stamina, but the Crio will both be unable to attack when curled up, and will struggle with sharp turns, instead having a large turn radius to make up for the increased speed. Though, smaller creatures will get trampled beneath the Crio's spiky shell if they're not careful. Like the Spino and Shadowmane, Crioceratites can gain the hydrated buff, lasting for 30 seconds outside of the water, and boosting their damage, speed, and regeneration. In the wild, they're passive unless approached, in which case they'll assault their aggressor with lashing tentacles and attempting to stun them with their use of charge. TAMING The taming method is simple, but complicated. One simply has to exhaust them of their charge, and in doing so, this will cause the Crio to curl up into its shell. When curled up, one must either shoot it with a charge lantern or throw Plant Species Z fruits at it, gaining its trust and taming it with the promise of constant charge. When tamed, they can use their natural supply of charge to light your way through the depths, as well as having a natural immunity to radiation. They're best used as a long-term adventuring mount, taken out for long treks in dangerous areas due to their high defensive capabilities and solid speed when curled up. When tamed and standing, if not in use for more than 5 minutes, they will retract into their shell as to preserve their moisture. When the ride prompt appears, they must exit their shell before the player can ride. However, it is best not to rely on the Crioceratites in a fight to the death, as while their damage is not negligible, compared to the many other beasts of Aberration, they lack the powerful offense to truly be considered a powerhouse, and instead are best used to repel attackers rather than kill or pursue. CONTROLS When riding a Crio, the rider sits atop their head rather than the shell, being taken inside said shell when tucked in to roll. Its walk speed is quite slow, comparable to the Karkinos, and its sprint speed is only somewhat decent, comparable to a tamed Rex. When rolling, it gains a significant speed boost at the cost of poor turning, comparable to a tamed Raptor, though it gains a speed boost on land when Hydrated. Its swimming speed is comparable to a tamed Basilosaurus. Like various creatures, the Crio will turn to face the direction of the player's camera, rather than remaining in one direction when the player looks to their side. Though, unlike other creatures, they can walk and sprint omnidirectionally, and this can be decently useful for warding off aggressors. This ability, however, is lost when swimming, instead having to turn when both moving and attacking like the Tusoteuthis. Left Click / Primary Attack A simple tentacle lash, using either of the two large tentacles not supporting itself. While not doing much damage, they possess solid knockback, and can be used to ward off attackers and allow for allies to follow-up. When facing forward or down, it will do a strong slam with both tentacles, which has stronger knockback than either left or right tentacle on their own. This can also be used while moving, in both a walk and a sprint. When in the water, the attack switches, causing the Crio to turn to face the target. The tentacle lash remains the same, having negligible damage, but gaining the ability to be used in succession while moving backwards. Right Click / Secondary Attack Using charge, right click will release a charge light from each of its tentacles, not unlike the charge lantern. When an enemy or wild creature enters the lights' vicinity, light will shoot out like a charge lantern, stunning the creature in its tracks for a couple of seconds, allowing the player to either attack, retreat, or recover. This cannot be used underwater. Instead, it is replaced with a large flash of light, which briefly stuns the target and gives the Crio a boost in speed, like the Tusoteuthis's ink spray. C / Tertiary Attack This will activate the Crio's charge passively, giving the same effects as a Lamprey or light pet without the use of either, and allowing the rider to venture into the Blue and Red Zones and ward off Nameless, as well as weakening Reapers. Space / Jump Using the jump input, the Crio will tuck itself, and its rider, into its shell. While inside of the shell, the rider becomes immune to damage, and the Crio gains both a 50% damage reduction, and a damage-reflect, causing any attack to partially harm the attacker, though neither of these apply to ranged attacks. Guns will pierce the Crio's shell without much effort, and elemental attack like a wyvern's breath are still just as effective. Though, when tucked into its shell, it also gains the ability to roll, gaining a significant boost in speed and the ability to trample small creatures and players, at the cost of poor turning. This does give the ability to gain momentum when rolling down an angle or slope, but will also cause the Crio to slow down when rolling up a slope. The Crio can also tuck into its shell underwater, though this makes it completely unable to move, running the risk of serious danger unless the aggressor is deterred from the shell's durability and spikes. UTILITY PVE In PVE, the Crio functions as a unique, all-terrain exploration mount with unique capabilities for solo players, as well as a premier support mount for tribes, working perfectly with a larger carnivore that is able to act as a proper combatant and target for wild creatures. Its ability to tuck into its shell and roll away is useful in just about any situation, though one should be mindful of its somewhat lackluster speed. Like the light pets, its ability to produce charge is invaluable in the deeper zones of Aberration, as is its immunity to radiation, though it does struggle with Seekers. PVP Most of its uses in PVE translate to PVP, acting as a valuable support mount from a distance, and being able to tank a serious amount of damage and run from fights it may end up struggling with. Its charge also makes it a more accessible and conventional option to deal with tamed Reaper Kings. WEAKNESSES While a worthwhile tame in many regards, the Crio is not without its fair share of downfalls. As mentioned, its ability to output damage is overall poor, the tentacle lash being good for knockback, but not doing much raw damage. Beyond its rolling, it's rather slow, easily outpaced by things both larger and smaller than it, and even when rolling, it's still unable to outrun the speedier creatures of the Arks, especially in regards to sharp turns. Even its attacking is comparatively rather slow, taking more time to execute a single slam than a Karkino's claw slam and for less damage. Like the Spino and Shadowmane, taking the Crio anywhere without water always puts them at a disadvantage due to its inability to acquire the Hydrated buff, and this is especially detrimental for the Crio due to its poor attack capabilities. Unless going for long voyages in hostile, but open areas, it's recommended to never bring a Crio anywhere on their own, and always have some kind of a stronger creature as a bodyguard, while they can attack as a support and a disruptor for the enemy. Lastly, unless tucked in, the Crio's tentacles and head lack any damage resistance, and the player is completely vulnerable when outside of the shell, and comparatively rather easy to see than some other saddles, making the rider an easy target for other players with ranged weapons.
  12. I Introduce the Labyrinthodontia, it will be a super amphibian made for Aberration. Common Name: Labyrinthodontia. Species: Labyrinthodontia Megalis. Time: Late Paleozoic Diet: Carnivorous/Piscivorous. Temperament: Aggressive. Concepts: (To Know about Labyrinthodontia) The core unique ability for Labyrinthodontia will be a useful sticky slime ability, with its slime it can use it to shoot it at opponents or lay it on the ground working similarly to a bear trap to immobilize things for a little period of time. (I was thinking either 20 or 30 seconds for the time duration) if you have tools you can break free from it faster or help break out other things faster too. Its sticky slime can also allow it to use to climb and scale surfaces when in its sticky mode. The slime grants it an ecological bonus to stay resistant to gas, basilisk poison, reaper acid and radiation. I was thinking too that since it’s an amphibian it will have a multiple stage lifecycle, and they have to breed in water too, the stages consist of a tadpole at juvenile and half tadpole and half adult for adolescent and then adult. And I thought it would be fun if they were sexually dimorphic like shadowmanes. Taming: the taming I wanted to make interesting. So basically you need to get a pheromone gland from a female Labyrinthodontia and use it to make them passive on you, and I decided to make the feeding options flexible, once in the passive state you can approach them and feed them Quality fish baskets, Large Fertilized Eggs, or a Reaper baby for an instant tame Maybe (if they decide to add that) the gland effects last for 5 mins and also you get two from each one you harvest one from. To tell if they’re ready to be fed again their fins on their heads will perk but if not hungry yet they’ll stay in default position. Tamed: Congrats when taming this things. I was thinking it would have a multi-seated saddle for good transport. The slime should make for good exploring and good offense. The reaper buff should make it formidable, and also being an apex predator should help you big time with having a good strong creature on your side. also was thinking it would be cool if it got a buff when consuming reaper pheromones of a nice buff. Dossier: wild- It’s no longer a surprise to see a regular creature taken to an extreme, at least not for me, it’s just sort of the norm now. These super amphibians love and inhabit the rivers, lakes, swamps and the bioluminescent biome. They stand at the top of the food chain and don’t have a nice temperament! I’ve seen them use a slime to hunt and immortalize their prey and to keep themselves safe. Unfortunately it’s hard to observe these buggers because they always want to snack on something. Domesticated- I was not wrong with calling them super amphibians! What’s even more crazy are those brave enough to tame them. Taming is interesting Labyrinthodontia glands apparently sooth their temperament and allow for approaching. They have a nack for large fertilized eggs, quality fish baskets and especially reaper spawn those help them to tame in an instant! These creatures have an interesting and useful sticky slime they use like I observed them using in the wild. They can use this slime to immobilize things to shooting things with it or pouring it on the ground like a trap, it also grants them protection from gas, basilisk poison, reaper acid and radiation. They also gain a significant buff when they consume reaper pheromones too. so that all for this creature I hope you guys like it, it was a ton of fun making this creature have a good day fellow Survivors. Also my apologies if the it isn’t that super good.
  13. IN WATER: - Irritators have reduced effect from bleed, tranqs, electrocution. - Increased healing while in water, similar speed to basilo healing at water surface. - Slower movement due to laziness while in water. - While in water cosmetic roar becomes a lazy grumble. ON LAND: - Incoming attacks deal more damage the longer spent out of water. - Irritator deals more damage the more time spent out of water. - Ignores natural armour of creatures (golems, stegos, doeds etc) and possibly saddles. - High pitched furious roar/ scream for aesthetics. EXTRAS: - Insulates rider from extreme weather making desert travel safer and allowing rider to survive for longer in the murder snow. - Size approximately between carno and allo. - Attacks could change depending on whether in water or on land.
  14. side note it does not have a photo think of a huge walrus and huge tusks Emmon’s walrus The sea Truck Species: ontocetus emmonsi Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive 50% hide weight reduction it has 5% damage reduction unless under 35% health it has 8% damage multiplier it is decently slower than a meg but has way more health and torpor it farms a lot more hide than a hatchet deep sea mount drops blubber and its tusks it has a charge attack in the water and a down headbutt can't get stunned or take damage from jellyfish on less under 35% health saddle gives a 10 second water buff can be ridden without saddle
  15. Protathlitis “The Champion” The Protathlitis is a school bus-sized, speed demon. They mainly reside in swampy areas or coastal beaches, where they can kill any unsuspecting prey that moves near them. They are extremely effective killers thanks to their amazing night vision and animal tracking ability. Taming: You first must knock them out using conventional means like darts and tranq arrows, but then, since these creatures are so ruthless, you must go kill others of its species to feed to it, when it wakes up, it will eat all the bodies, and If it is enough, the creature will be tamed Abilities: Hunter vision: They have the ability hunter vision; what this does is it gives them (and the rider) night vision and tracks all animals they can see but at the cost of draining their hunger significantly Shedding: Every so often they shed their skin, the skin can be collected using scissors, then can be crushed in a mortar and pestle or Chemistry bench to be made into absorbent substrate Agility: They have extremely fast agility, both on land and in water, they also have significantly increased stamina and oxygen Strength: These creatures are also beneficial for hunting and attacking, thanks to their large claws and their serrated teeth, plus the bleed effect they give similar to a Thylacoleo Stances: Similar to the Spinosaurus, this creature has different stances, with the bipedal stance being more attack based, and the quadrupedal stance offering more agility Dossier: Wild “They wander around on 4 legs but when provoked or become aggressive they stand on 2 legs. They become extremely aggressive at everything it sees. They are extremely fast runners and swimmers and can easily kill anything that angers it using its serrated teeth and sharp claws. They have keen eyesight and can even see in the dark as well as track animals.” Domesticated “It is extremely helpful when domesticated, it would be an amazing addition to any tribe. It can especially help tribes with transportation, defense, and offense. It comes in especially useful during war because of its versatile nature. I have also seen some tribes grind up the shed skin to make absorbent materials.” Hope you guys liked it and if you have any recommendations put them in the comments : )
  16. Good afternoon, survivors! After stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. May I present the wonderful, splendid looking and immaculately moisturized hadrosaur.. THE ANATOSAURUS! This is a concept of how I imagine the Anatosaurus to look like. Forum restrictions have butchered the quality though so apologies *A full dossier of the Anatosaurus is a work in progress* The Hadrosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that I hold close to my heart, and as an enjoyer of older depictions of these animals I thought that ARK could really do with another duckbill in its roster - and especially one with a twist like this.. Dossier Common Name: Anatosaurus Species: Anatosaurus hiruphagus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral (Aggressive towards bug repellant) Wild: An oddity amongst its relatives the Anatosaurus behaves in a manner completely unlike ARK’s other ornithopods. They are native to the steamy swamps of Ragnarok’s southern quarter and possess an amphibious lifestyle, spending their days happily grazing upon aquatic vegetation and occasionally dousing their slimy bodies in mud to protect against the harsh sun. Domesticated: Due to their apparent disdain of bug-repelling gel, the act of taming an Anatosaurus is one fit for only the most daring of survivors. This submission WILL recieve minor updates in the coming days, but I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur!
  17. Introducing the Opabinia, the alien like sea creature and your new gathering buddy wild Opabinia is naturally skittish and avoids conflict in the wild, by the time you see it it’s 5 eyes have definitely seen you. It’s not uncommon for survivors to hear it squeal as it flees before they realise it’s there. Thankfully they do have a weakness, their love of food, dropping fish meat (or having fish corpses) nearby will cause them to cautiously approach allowing you the time to tranq it. The fact they spawn around beaches helps too since they are incredibly slow on land allowing them to be kited somewhere for easy taming, especially in pirate bay, just be wary of any sea scorpions that might want cause mischief. tamed being a bit bigger than a manta or an angler and on par with a large dolphin, it’s not the most powerful creature in the sea but it is one of the most maneuverable. It’s unique fins and biology allow it to turn on a dime and go up and down the water column much like the tapajara of the air as well as being able to swim at surprisingly fast speeds. opabinia’s elastic mouth is easily the weirdest part about it, and perhaps the most useful. When set to aggressive it’s mouth will snap up any fish within range automatically, allowing for some easy farming. on top of that piranhas and salmon don’t attack ether, you combine that with its small size, ability to go onto land and now you have the perfect river fishing Buddy! the mouth can automatically grab and kill the following coelocanths, trilobites, salmon, piranha, ichtyornis, pegomastax, dodo, compsognathus, most baby dinos and more! speaking off, Opabinia’s legs do allow it to go onto land but it is incredibly slow while up there but considering it’s elastic mouth is perfect for snatching those pesky gulls when they try to mob it you might just want to plop it on a beach near you as ichthyornis control. On top of that the birds seem attracted to it, which is great news for both you and your passively feeding tame. Opabinia can also ‘crawl’ through water that’s too shallow to swim in at a much faster speed than on land as long as it’s fins are wet, meaning no river is truly too shallow for this creature to travel through! besides the automatic bite, it does have a manual bite attack that does decent damage as well as a tail flick (think what some shrimp do), this attack does less damage but it does send your Opabinia back, potentially out of range of your attacker but still in range of your own attacks. This ability to attack from a safe distance and maintain said distance means that those that are skilled enough can use Opabinia well in combat, just be mindful of its fragile nature. breeding Opabinia can be bred much like beelzebufo, despite being semi aquatic it needs to be in water to lay its egg. thankfully unlike the frogs, it’s young don’t go through a tadpole stage and are safe to call onto land to mature. final thoughts. All in all Opabinia would be a unique and likely useful addition to the game, especially on Ragnarok given its river systems and just the sheer lack of Cambrian reputation in not just Ark but in prehistoric media as a whole. also I’ll have art for thise creature coming on the way soon, so stay tuned for that. goodbye for now though, and as always happy voting!!
  18. Real world animal: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smok_wawelski If you want more info outside that article, search "Smok archosaur" Smok Wawelski is a prehistoric archosaur named after a Polish dragon. It is not known whether it was a theropod dinosaur, or a crocodilian, but it was the apex predator of its environment and is an underrated creature that I think would make a perfect addition to ragnarok. It should be about allo sized. Health and damage should be a little lower than a rex or spino, and stamina should be decent. Should have ok speed on land and in water, not to fast or to slow. ---Abilities--- Debuff immunity. No tameable creatures have this and it'd be very useful. Stuns, slow effects, fear effects, percentage damage, etc should not work. Neither should noglin mind control. Armor piercing bite. The real smok was known to crush bone with its jaws. As a nod to this, smok's bite should be able to ignore armor, both from gear (saddles) and natural armor (golems, stegos, reapers). Whether it ignores 100%, or 50%, or some other amount, is up to wildcard. There aren't very many things that ignore armor currently tho. The main way to do that is with percentage damage (bleed). This would be a different way of doing so. Claw swipe. Hits faster than the bite and does a little more knock back, but does not ignore armor. Holding the button for this attack will pick up a player or small creature in smok's hand. Pressing it again will drop them. Holding the button will let you aim, then releasing it will throw them. This cannot pull players off tames. The grab does not work underwater. Fire breath. Smok was named after a dragon, and the amargasaurus is the avatar, so I think this is fair. This shouldn't do percentage damage, but more serve as a mid-range attack option if melee combat is not ideal. Held down like managarmr/voidwyrm breath until stamina is gone. Does not work in water. Jump. Not as high as a reaper or procoptodon, but something it can still do. Water breathing. Crocodiles in this game (sarco and kapro) can breathe underwater, and smok is potentially a crocodilian, so I think this is fair. Plus that makes it a way to counter eels and jellyfish, and might be nice for those who want another aquatic/semiaquatic creature in the game. A roar. Has no special effects, is just there to be cool. If this is added, make it sound dragonlike. Can be ridden without a saddle. However, you can make a metal armor saddle which protects the rider from dismounting and rider-damaging attacks. Rider cannot use weapons. ---Taming--- Knockout, but it only takes torpor from biotoxin darts, basilisk venom, or poison spit from poison wyverns/basilisks (I know that doesn't normally do torpor to other things, but to this it does). Prefers fish over regular meat. I think it's simple and doable enough, but takes effort worth the creature in question. But I wouldn't mind if this method was scrapped for something else. Spawn location and frequency is up to wildcard. ---Purpose--- Smok would be a decent fighter or travel creature I think. It's main role would be to shut down problems caused by debuffing or attacking riders directly, something both pvp and pve players could use. Tho it takes buffs and armor out of the equation, the stats themselves are not overpowered, so in theory you could defeat one in a head on fight with a rex/spino/giga/carchar/reaper, or anything else with better stats. You shouldn't be able to just walk through turrets either. ---Extra--- Although this is a ragnarok creature, I think this should be allowed to be transfered to aberration. I love that map, and so do many others. It'd let people enjoy the creature there once the map comes out. A color region for the eyes would be cool. Not many creatures have it, and I think it'd be neat. As with all suggestions, anyone feel free to give their opinions on this. I did not draw these, but they give an idea of what Smok looks like and a starting point for an ingame design. I think a mix of dinosaur and crocodilian features is the way to go. Or even give it dragon-style horns. If I could draw I would. If any artists want to give more design ideas, feel free to.
