scout Myotragus - The Resource Scouting Companion
NeddyTheNoodle posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
Introduction! Hey all, Welcome to my creature submission for Fjordur! You can read what I wrote below for the full Dossier text, along with some extra information, and a viewable Dossier that I myself along with two artists created! Credit largely goes to them Myotragus Dossier Text Wild On the surface, Myotragus sensorem looks like a regular mountain goat. Upon closer inspection however, this creature is a lucky thing to come across. In the wild, Myotragus sensorem is passive, though defensive when attacked. Myotragus are capable of scaling the steep slopes of the mountainous regions. This verticality, combined with their high fortitude when in the presence of certain resources, makes them a dangerous foe if they are attacked in areas containing high quantities of materials often useful to survivors. The sharpened horns of Myotragus allow them to pierce the flesh of creatures and survivors alike, causing them to bleed. Combined with this, Myotragus are about as large as an adult survivor. Thus, it is wise to avoid violent confrontation with Myotragus unless necessary. Domesticated Perhaps the most unique capability of Myotragus is its strange propensity to sensing various local resource deposits along with creatures in a given area. Tribes have found that upon showing Myotragus specific resources, it will point its human companion in the right direction. While Myotragus are not effective gatherers on their own, they have the unique ability of having an easier time carrying the resources which they can sense. This makes them efficient at helping survivors find resources to then carry back to their encampments with ease. The unique jump-height, verticality, and weight carrying capacity of Myotragus, combined with its ability to sense local resources, makes it an excellent companion to have in these harsh lands. Utility With the Dossier out of the way, let's get into the details of the Myotragus. This goat has the utility of 'sensing' resources, but also creatures in a given area. My pitch, is that the radius of this sensing ability can be extended via level-ups, or it could be tied to level in some way. Also, when a Myotragus spawns, it could work similar to the Gacha on Extinction, where it has special capabilities with a random set of resources. The gacha can create those resources, but the Myotragus can instead be able to sense them and carry them with weight reduction. A list of resources may include the following: Raw Metal Obsidian Crystal Gems Oil Sap Sulfur Silica Pearls Black Pearls Fungal Wood Raw Salt Then, the second utility ability of the Myotragus could be that it can similarly sense a random set of creatures, somewhat like the Parasaur but from a much greater distance, only sensing Wild creatures specifically. In my eyes, this can act like a vanilla replacement for mods like S+ that help you track down creatures by just typing their name in. The Myotragus instead can be a balanced approach to this. It would encourage taming lots of them if each one could have drastically different preferred creatures, perhaps 5-8. This way, if you wanted to find one creature or another, you would pick your tamed goat which is especially fond of that creature, and journey out into the lands of Fjordur. Third, I would suggest that the Myotragus can track down Explorer Notes, much like the Direwolf. Except instead, they could detect them from a much larger range. Perhaps tying into a level-up ability increasing the range? As a player who very much enjoys collecting notes for the satisfaction, having this creature on any other map would make it so much easier. Lastly, Myotragus could be a second source of Mutton, as currently the Ovis is the only creature which can be harvested for such meat. That said, I would suggest making the yield from mutton far lower than Ovis, so that it still has dominance in the field of harvesting mutton. Perhaps for every 10 Raw Mutton an ovis grants, the Myo only gets 1-2. The following resources could be obtained from harvesting Myotragus: Raw Mutton Hide Pelt Combat The Myotragus is perhaps most comparable to the male Megaloceros, except both male and female Myotragus have horns. Beyond the sensing ability of the horns, they are also sharp and can deliver serious bleed damage to opponents. In the wild, Myotragus act similar to Pachycephalosaurus, where they will not attack unless provoked. Overall, nothing immensely special, but the Myotragus can deliver enough damage to defend itself and fight off any would-be attackers. It could also be said that Myotragus get buffed when near the creatures that they have a fondness towards sensing / seeking, giving them an actual damage and resistance buff. Perhaps this could be applied for both wild and tamed creatures of the specific type that it likes. Travel Lastly, the goat can be great for traversal, and here's why! As shown in the Dossier, the suggested ability of Myotragus is to be able to walk up very steep surfaces. It does not have to be as extreme as the example shown on the left-hand side in verticality, but it could be comparable to the ability of the Tek Boots, allowing you to go up much steeper cliffs than most creatures, or than how you could as a Survivor on foot. Myotragus could have decent stamina, a fantastic and large jump-height (as seen in goats in the real world), and take far reduced, or perhaps no fall damage whatsoever. Taming Taming Myotragus is a somewhat difficult task, and requires a fairly wide variety of resources. First, survivors must drop a resource on the ground near Myotragus in order to test if their horns indicate that they are excited. After isolating which resource(s) do this, survivors can then drop the resource on the ground (much like with Gachas), which causes the Myotragus to get very excited, and pick up / carry the item, using its horns. After a certain amount of time, the Myotragus will feel like picking up more of its favorite resources, but if it is given the same one repeatedly, the taming effectiveness will go down. Conclusion I hope you like my pitch! Please upvote the Myotragus if this is a creature that appeals to you, and you want more unique mechanics! We don't quite have anything in the base game that can 'track down' specific resources or creatures like this, and so I'm really into this idea!- 38 replies

kileskus- the artic scoutand yutyrannus's enemy
StrandedAndStoopid posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
Kileskus is the earliest tyrannosauroid known. Since thereare 3 fossils of Kileskus thathave been discovered, a claw, a foot and a ptretty skuffed chunk of skull, I will ignore most scientific drawings and make somthing that is (totally) plausible out of kileskus. I like to think its crest could have been sharp and serated, possibly inflicting large amount of damage. there havebeen to many bleed kings recently and I ahve a feeling the andrew will do a bleed and I dont want to many bleeds in the game. this would be the first carnivore to have a ram attack. Maybe, since it is a russian creature that the yutyrannus evolved from, this creature has learned to imitate the yutyrannus's roar to pacifiy carnos. however, carnos are to prideful to take orders from a little creature like Kileskus and Kileskus will have a better chance of survival if it leaves the carnos alone. They can also uise this imitation against beach side creaturesthat havenever heard the yuty, this will mkae all of them flee. these creatures can be found across the realms but are concentrated in yoderheim. Their primitive feathers hold water, which freezes onto these feathers in the cold making a tail swing a dangerous tool. while, partially frozen, the Kileskus uses this to its advantage, making a great peircing armor (recoil) and will be used as a shattering club. living along side the Yuty and in fear of it, Kileskus has found away to "catch" its roars in its crest to repeat back at the yuty, thiscan scare the yutyrannus's carnos away. along with being a pack animal, with enough of them, they can leap at a creature with their strong feet to push some larger foes down. that is, if there are enough, if not then they have waste alot of stamina leaving the entire pack a ta disadvantage. however, if they suceed, this will push their enemy over, stunning the creature as it tries to get up. they can do this to anything up to the size of a mammoth. the yutyrannus, evolving along side these pests, has learned to not fight while the rats scurry into formation, this allows the yuty to brace itself for impact, and still stand, making the pack often not survive this mistake. if one is on the yuty, the yuty will refuse to attack while the pack of Kileskus are jumping. This group pounce can be activated (while on a Kileskus) by pressing jump while facing the target. Any available( not stunned, riden, out of stam, etc.) will jump. If enough makeit onto the creature targeted in 5 seconds the group pounce will be sucessful and the creature will be pushed down into its unconscious animation wait 5 seconds, then play the getting up animation. i think if the rider was forced off, this would be too op. The player cant doanything other tha ndismount while theit tame while this is happening. This is il-advised considering all of thepack will be on the tame. these creatures being from a country with, uhm, an equal society and form of government, have that same mentality in the pack. any creature can initiate thegroup pounce (as long as its being ridden.) The creature over all seems a bit op for something the size of a Gallimimus, but remember how does the tiny feathered chicken with a crest become the thing everyone hates, and why does a pig come into boss fight? look at the 2 dromeosaurs currently in the game, one is a basic creature with a bite and pack boost. raptor + feathers= a stackable bleed, climbing abilities, and the ability to latch onto larger creatures+ being over all a good mount that is taken into fight 3 bosses at once. clearly feathers are what makes things OP. considering the Kileskus is covered in feathers for its survival, it must be considerably OP. so i think for its attacks, primary attack, head swing- swings its head around, does some knockback but over all is the base attack. secondary attack- head ram/tail swing (is tail swing when tail is frosted over. tail frost is removed once this attack has been used) - charges ram similar to trike, does a good amount of damage, no trike stun, no destroying structures. requires a rider to perform tertiary attack- "yuty" roar- pacifies carnos, scares anything found on the beech and other small creatures. jump- (while looking at a target that has the "rage" debuff symbol on it (works similarly to the deino showing the "gnashed" symbol on a creature it can latch onto) it will make all available Kileskus jump at the target (as long as they are not on passive, stunned, ridden, etc.) If enough Kileskus jump at the target, thetarget will be forced into its unconscious animation for 5 secs dossier is being made- 1 reply

A Kopidodon Macrognathus, The Bitter Squirrel (Ratatoskr)
GhostRaptor1229 posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
I will be continually updating this with more ideas and media as I can. Please feel free to add onto this idea as well! Ratatoskr / Kopidodon Macrognathus The Bane to my existence… and I’m making it your problem. Everyone remembers Scrat, the prehistoric squirrel that was more deprived of the nut than anyone. Well we’ve got the rest of the cast might as well bring in the one who started every movie off with its plot. (I realize this is not the actual species that Scrat was ) Name: Giant Squirrel (Ratatoskr) Species: Kopidodon Macrognathus Time: Eocene Europe Diet: seeds and vegetables Temperament: Aggressive/territorial Wild: although it looks bigger due to the fluffy fur it is no larger than a saber tooth and found in mainly redwoods or snow biomes this creature will insight conflict wherever it goes. Making normally passive residents of the Ark attack each other. They seem to be quite fascinated by all the chaos and will climb up tall cliffs or trees to watch the spectacle below. Usually found alone the only reason they would be together is when tamed and even then they just tolerate the company of another Kopidodon. So long as it is opposite it’s own gender. (Much like the gacha) Taming: befriending this four legged bad attitude is no walk in the Ark “Park”. Kopidodon will make every attempt to run you off or lure in unwanted company. While survivors have attempted the good ole sedation method all have ended with ill results. It would seem that this creatures only real love is viewing a good fight and stuffing it’s face full of seeds and vegetables. ( Dropping an array of seeds, honey, vegetables or sap at your feet. You will have to fight off the targets it enrages. “Even your own companion dinos if they are caught being too close.” *wink wink*) Domesticated: what reason anyone would have for keeping this loathsome thing around I have no idea. But it does seem useful enough as a companion. Trusted though? Not likely. It’s bushy tail and fur would keep any survivor warm in even the coldest conditions. Add on the fact that it breaks anything it puts between it’s teeth and you’ve got yourself resources out the wazoo. This fuzz ball will scamper across tree tops and cause conflict amongst anything insight. Not unlike it’s Norse counterpart for which I assume it is related, for its bad attitude and willingness to encourage battle. Abilities: Obviously a regular bite or scrap with claws Pounce: from a higher point, Kopidodon will jump down on unsuspecting adversaries, knocking them down and gaining speed afterwards to make an escape (will use this against mounted/unmounted players if too close like a thyla but less damage and death) Gnawing mode: chittering teeth together it begins to break down anything in its way much like a chainsaw/mining drill. It will consume more seeds/veggies in this stance but will harvest thatch and some wood from trees and just flint from rocks. Can do some real damage to foes in a pinch. Will continue even dismounted and grind anything in its inventory (the tropeognathus has this covered but they are so rare) Scamper/climbing stance: able to jump from place to place in quick succession, working somewhat like the bloodstalker with a target for jump points and like the rock drake, flattening itself to gain a little gliding (not too much) Annoying Antagonizer: (the AA) This screech when used will annoy a single creature within range (bloodstalker grapple range) causing the target to become furious and begin rampaging on anything around it. But not without drawing aggro to itself from said creature afterwards. If the target is mounted it will dismount. Can also be used on allies to boost speed and battle hardiness. Giving them the extra strength to fight. (Acts as a single target yuty roar) (This idea really stems from the Norse messenger of the eagle and Nidhogg, Ratatosk who carries vile messages back and forth between the two. Fueling their hatred for one another.) Riot: this stance allows the Kopidodon to screech at its full capacity and coax all creatures in its vicinity to become aggressive to each other. In this stance the Kopidodon gains movement speed to run away while chaos ensues. (yutyrannus roar with ammonite/magmasaur effect, 10 seconds timer for speed boost) Warmth Bonus: acting like the otter, or ferox and boosting your cold resistance as it lives in the snow/redwoods currently working on a dossier to add to this as well, hope you like it!-
