(I promise that now is the last time you will see this boy from me.) "let's do this one last time" Guanlong Wucaii is a species of dinosaur that lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately 156 million years ago, in Asia. Its name means "Crown Dragon" due to the crest on its head, This was one of the first species of Tyrannosaurus, unlike this one, it had three fingers on its front legs instead of the two already known from the rex. From its hind legs you can see that it was a fairly fast and agile predator. Before we talk about its abilities, I'd like to highlight a couple of basic things I'd like this creature to have: -Its base Health is similar to that of a Thyla -Low weight: it is a light and fast animal, it cannot carry so much weight. -His skills use a lot of energy -It has a moderate base attack, but makes up for it with a 5 second duration bleed, which doesn't stack, but does reset after each attack. -is one of the fastest creatures on the Ark WILD: The creature will appear in the wild in groups of 3, which, like Raptor or Deinonychus, will have an alpha which will be the highest level Guanlong. When Guanlong detects a player, two things can happen, first: If guanlong is not in the player's field of vision, it will imitate a random roar of the strongest creatures on the island such as Rex, Carcha or Giga, in the case of being in the player's field of vision, Guanlong will begin to attack the player directly. Domestication: To tame a Guanlong, you must avoid being detected by it, be it with a camouflage suit or a hot soup, then you must separate it from its group, either killing them or distracting them, having him far enough away from his group, you must feed him rotten meat, which will raise his unconsciousness until he sleeps, after that just feed it meat until it is tamed. Tamed: He has a pack roar, when using it he receives 15% speed and 25% attack, it lasts about 100 seconds, but has a 30 second cooldown. Guanlong can emit high and low frequency sounds, it can even imitate animal sounds, the latter can be used to intimidate or annoy survivors with terrifying roars, or to specifically attract large creatures, such as Carcharodontosaurus or Yutyrannus, which will target Guanlong and start chasing him, which is perfect for putting creatures into traps or making it possible for another player to shoot at it from another side. High and low frequency sounds can make a big difference in PVP or PVE, as they will stun large and small creatures for a short amount of time, depending on the animal that you want to stun, you must raise or lower the sound frequency, the bigger the animal, the less stun time it will have, for example, a Giga would be stunned for 2.5 to 3 seconds, a Titanosaur might be stunned for 2 seconds, a Raptor for 9 seconds and a Dodo for 15 seconds (although I don't know why you would attack a Dodo), obviously this ability will have a cooldown of 20-30 seconds. Guanlong can also buff his allies using his ability, giving them 30% more stamina for 12 seconds. but then you may wonder: What happens if we put many guanlongs in a row? During the cooling time a player could get off one, and get on another... but the solution I came up with is the following: if there are more than 3 Guanlongs in an area (I didn't think of a specific radius), and one uses its sound ability, the rest of the Guanlongs will be stunned for twice as long as the stunned enemy creature, if there are only 3 guanlongs in the area, and one is on cooldown, when you get on another and use its ability, it will stun the enemy for 25% less time, in addition to depleting three times the stamina of the Guanlong used. scary boi Guanlong Wucaii: The lizard of terrifying sounds (again)
ZapPoto posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Ok, you might be wondering why it says "again" in the title, I had thought of suggesting another creature, however, looking at the aberration context, I strongly believe that this is a very good concept for this map, and would fit quite well in its gameplay (in my opinion) "let's do this one last time" Guanlong Wucaii is a species of dinosaur that lived at the end of the Jurassic period, approximately 156 million years ago, in Asia. Artwork by Riskybiscuits: Instagram -https://www.instagram.com/leannedaphnedesign/ Creature info: Name: Fasolasuchus Diet: Carnivore (Particularly favours armoured creatures) Time Period : Triassic Temperament: Aggressive Dossier Description: Fasolasuchus is the largest Reuisuchian that ever lived, although here on the Ark it’s a little bigger than I remember. It’s armour and bone crushing jaws are just as ferocious as the t-rex, able to grip and hold it’s prey firmly in place. Although Fasolasuchas is of Crocodilian lineage, it’s more of a big lizard than a marine reptile. It’s thick scaley hide helps it thrive within the desert environment, much like its historical counterpart that lived on the vast continent of Pangea millions of years ago. Suggested By Snowbloodwolf2 on reddit: For some reason these creatures naturally enjoy crushing and or shattering things with thick shells or armor and see it as a a form of entertainment as a result they can often be found mercilessly crushing dodicarus and carbonemys even when they aren't hungry and leaving the corpses scattered around the area as a result they serve as warnings to other predators that they are currently in a Fasolasuchus's territory even if the Fasolasuchus doesn't understand the concept of a territory. (So it would basically say that unlike other large predators you don't need to earn its trust or respect by besting it in combat or raising it from an egg because it is simply too stupid to understand such concepts so you simply have to essentially throw "toys" at it to put it morbidly) Original Idea for this creature was to help find a solution to people building and clogging servers with traps, it's kind of evolved from there with the help of the community and suggestions, this creature has become something incredibly unique and niche, if you want something completely unique added to the game Vote Fasolasuchus, and thank you everyone for the support! Abilities: Intense Gripping Bite with it’s strong jaws able to immobilise a Rock Elemental if high enough level , works like a Giant Bear Trap or Net gun. Has a Crush ability for Armoured dinos in its grasp (Dodicarus, Anky, Carbonamys, Stego, Kentro (doesn’t take damage from Kentro), TeK Dino’s, Rock Elementals, Arthros, shadow manes (due to their armour ability). Has 3 attack options: Trap, Crush and Swipe Can Trap any Dino no matter how big and also traps flying and water based creatures, time trapped will depend on stamina and trapped dinos will not take damage. Crush: If the Dino is under the Armoured Category the Fasolasuchus can slowly crush it’s victims to death in it’s jaws if the option is selected, It’s victim cannot move or fight back, until the the stamina is drained on the Fasolasuchus. (stamina drain is faster when in crushing mode and it also has a cooldown) - this has had some changes further down in combat abilities. Swipe: the Fasolasuchus has a tail swipe ability to knock back attackers. Heat Resistance & Sandstorm Protection: Due to is cold bloodedness the Fasolasuchus it gains strength from the heat of the desert sun, the higher the temperature the stronger and quicker it is, this has a reverse effect in the cold and at night time it is a lot more sluggish and slow. Due to its thick hide it is particularly resilient against sand storms and heat resistance also takes effect when being attacked by flame arrows, flame throwers and flaming oil jars, however the Fasolasuchus is particularly vulnerable to explosives. Harvests: Stone, Metal, Chitin, and Keratin Taming: To tame the Fasolasuchus you need to keep your distance, if it spots you during a tame it will attack you and break your legs in the wild, it love crunchy things and treats armoured dinos as chew toys! How to Tame: You need to sacrifice an armoured tamed creature (Dodicarus, Anky, Carbonamys, Stego, Kentro (doesn’t take damage for Kentro), TeK Dino’s, Rock Elementals, Arthro, shadow manes (due to their armour ability). The Fasolasuchus in the wild can be found underground in the sand dunes of Scorched Earth, it's mouth open wide waiting ready to trap it's prey (like a giant bear trap) only it's teeth popping out of the sand are visable to tame it you need to sacrifice a Crunchy Dino to be trapped and it will spring out of the ground, The Fasolasuchus will slowly crush the tames to death and do a death roll like a Sarco, this will add taming effectiveness, you may need multiple sacrifices if it’s a high level, saddle tiers and health points do help the effectiveness, the less tames you need to sacrifice the better it will be. Once that stage has begun you can proceed to tranq the Fasolasuchus into submission and knock it out, but make sure you've got the best TE bar before you do. Taming Effectiveness : Will be based on health of the sacrifice, if you have a high-level Dodicarus with a lot of health the amount of time it takes to kill the creature will increase the taming effectiveness, you can still reach 100% with different armoured creatures but Rock elemental will still be your best option for quicker results taming a high level Fasolasuchus. Tamed Use: Trapping Dinos: Once tamed the Fasolasuchus can trap anything in it’s jaws, it can trap Flying (if landed) and Water Creatures (in the water) with the exception of End Game Creatures, Once the jaws are locked you can then proceed to tranq, fire balistas or even passive tame the wild creature. (For example if you want to tame a Ferrox you don’t have to worry about it changing into a rage monster it will be completely immobilised until the Fasolasuchs’s stamina is drained) Rock Elemental Trap - while this creature will be able to trap a Rock Elemental for making it easier to tame one, it will have a reduced trap time based on drag weight the larger the creature (largest being Rock Elemental, Yuti, Wyvern and Bronto), the less time you have. This is to give an even playing field so that player new and advanced players are in a situation where they need to fight on foot or on an alternative dino (This ability can effect all large dinos except for Bosses, Gigas, Reapers and Carchas, it's armour does protect against Carcha blood lust buff, if Fasolasuchus is transferred to a non-scorched earth server or visa versa.) Creatures Can Fight Back - if a tamed creature is trapped it can fight back without it's rider but prey will do significantly reduced damage to the Fasolasuchus while immobilised. Ranged Battle Tactics: (suggested by 1Sonder) imagine fighting a rock elemental while your riding about your tribe mates can fire catapults, balista and cannons from the side of the Fasolasuchus, it would be like a pirate battle on the dunes. Saddle Features- some more combat and taming attributes will be the ability to attach 2 a catapult turrets or cannons earthier side of the creature on it's saddle, this will allow the option of trapping while on the move 1 rider and two trappers able to sit on the creature, this will also help with taming rock elementals as the structures will already be in place. Avoiding the Heat and Sandstorms: the Fasolasuchus thrives in the heat and sand it applies a heat and protection buff to it’s rider when in those conditions. popular suggestion Burrow Ability - Like the Reaper the Fasolasuchus can burry itself underground to surprise it's prey, however this can only be done when on sand and not on dirt or rock or ice making it specialised for Sorched Earth, this ability can't be done with the platform saddle as it hinders it's ability to completely submerged. While buried underground the Faso acts just like a giant bear trap with it's mouth wide open ready for unassuming prey to walk into its jaws, once it's prey is trapped it springs out of the ground, this also happens in the wild and is how you find them. Combat: Crunch all Creatures- the ability to slowly Crunch creatures trapped in it's jaws will apply to anything but will have a buff (Armour shredding attack) for Armoured Dinos (rock elemental, doric, Anky, Kentro, Stego, Tek dinos, Carbonyms, Arthros, Shadowmanes). Dismounts the rival player: if the Trapped dino has a rider they will be instantly dismounted and cannot remount until the Fasalousuchus lets go. Damage protection buff: Fasolasuchus takes reduced damage when locked onto a creature. Saddle: This Creature, thanks to it's large and bulky body, is able to carry a tone of weight and is great for harvesting heavy rocks and minerals, the Fasolasuchus is rideable with one person without a saddle, it's saddle (unlocked at a later stage in the game) offers three seats two of which are balista turrets built into it, which is great for a hunting party looking to tame a large prize. A Useful Sacrifice: if you have a low level Fasolasuchus it's still very handy for a quick escape, although the time limit would be short a low level on it's stamina you still could immobilise a large threat long enough for the riders to escape, your Fasolasuchus may be sacrificed, but you can at least get away safely or you can use it to confuse your enemy and dismount them. Artwork and Design choices: I have created my own mocked up version of this creature with som exaggeration to it's design compared to it's real life counterpart due to the fact that Scorched Earth has more of a mythical creature vibe to it I added more of that kind of flare to the Fasolasuchus Design. I thought it would be interesting to have more quadrupedal carnivores within ark and feel that this creature would be a great addition as a desert prowling monster that could give the death worm a run for it's money. Overall: I wanted this creature to aid players that don't have a lot of PVP experience, with a way to even the playing field, if someone has a powerful dino at least you can dismount them and fight them one on one, the Fasolasuchus is a bit of a double edged sword its good for stopping an enemy you are also frozen sand have to fight on foot, it might be wise to have another creature to back you up as well. A Huge Thank You to everyone for your support! we made it to TOP 10!! Chibi design by Sova
