  1. Wild: Wandering the most climate extreme environments in this broke earth, Sinotyrannus Radium has been able to harvest electricity from the environment thanks to its element mutations and use it offensively This Sinotyrannus' crest is usually used as the main outlet of electricity in his body, its able to use its electricity to either shoot out a lightning bolt which crosses among multiple enemies or a flash of blinding light made to stun them Taming Method: You must wait till it shoots its flashbang or lightning bolt, and either deflect it with either a metal shield (flashbang) or with the riot shield (lighting bolt), then it will be stunned, then you may feed it to gain taming effectiveness Tamed: Tribes upon the wasteland have been able to tame these predators by using their own attacks against them, stunning them by reflecting their respective attack and feeding them afterwards Some of these Sinotyrannus are fitted with generator saddles and used as mobile electric sources which dont need gas, this generators are also able to overcharge the Sinotyrannus and make them specially fast and agile compared to most creatures Sinotyrannus; Abilities: Regular bite: Fast bite with decent damage, comparable to carno Lighting bolt: When you enter turret mode you can choose on of two modes, the first mode gives you a lighting bolt shot, which has goes through multiple enemies dealing damage to all of em, a hard hitting attack which takes a couple seconds to recharge, the crest will be a bright yellow when doing this Flashbang: The second mode inside of turret mode is the flashbang, this attack stuns creatures and blind for a few seconds, this attack has a big cooldown and is easy to predict due to its animation, this is to prevent getting stunned all the time, whenever this mode is active the crest will be a bright blue Stomp: A stomp attack which deals moderate damage but leaves an electric field on the ground, this electric field deactivates Meks and other robotic creatures, also it does a continuous stream of damage when inside Passive Abilities: Generator Saddle: Its saddle acts as a mobile generator, this generator doesnt need gas but has a much smaller range Overcharge: When it has a powered generator saddle it unlocks the overcharge meter, this can be filled by attacking and running, when this is activated he is able to do 180 spins on the spot, mega jumps which explode with electricity when it lands and faster movement speed
  2. Species : Pliosaurus IracundiaTime : Late JurassicDiet : Carnivorous Temperament : Aggressive Wild Pliosaurus Iracundia might be one of the most aggresive, greedy creature in the ocean. This bigger and bulkier cousin of Liopleurodon looks like spend most of the time to search food. With its cousin-sized head with full of humongous teeth, most size of creatures are easy meal for this starving beast. Pliosaurus is an aggresive predator just like other giant ocean predators, but actually it seems like Pliosaurus are more aggresive to bigger creautres. Some people said that they saw a Tusoteuthis ambushed the Pliosaurus, but Pliosaurus manage to escape from deadly tentacle trap with its powerful flippers, and charge back to literally sherd the attacker furiosally than usual. It seems like larger enemy makes Pliosaurus enraged. Domesticated Pliosaurus is not the fastest swimmer, but very flexible swimmer thanks to its four large paddle like flippers. Also, it's monstrous power when enraged would be a great advantage to against the large tribes, although I have no idea how to conotrol these beasts. It's kinda nervous to watch multiple Pliosaurus in one place because of its raging nature, but according to the tribe that succesfully tamed Pliosaurus, says that they're suprisingly calm and could control themselves to unleash its rage to only foes. I think its because of their taming progress. I've heard that they feed some narcotics directly to its throat when its enraged, meaning that its faster metabolism during the enraged state makes narcotics much more absorbing than usual, makes Pliosaurs feel helpless and become obedient. Tamed and well controled Pliosaurus's rage could be very useful and deadly weapon to shred a massive army of large ocean predators Taming Method It is a special knock out tame. - You need to approach Pliosaurus with large creatures to make it acitvate the rivaly buff, and damage it untill it gets enraged - Enraged Pliosaurus will try to perform grab with its massive jaw, so throw some creature of decent size to do it. - If Pliosaurus grabs the creature you give, it will expose its throat, feed some narcotics through there. It will take whole stack at once. - If its fed, Pliosaurus will release the creature and flee. - Chase the Pliosaurus untill it gets aggro'd again and then repeat the process. - If its knocked out, then you can feed it. But since its very gluttonous creatures, it will eat quite a lot. Abilities - Able get rivaly buff from nearby large creatures such as Basilo, Plesio, Mosa, Tuso, Leed, and other Pliosaurus since its very hostile toward other large creatures. The rivaly buff will give Plio a 15% increased damage, resistance, stamina regen. But it will also slowly build rage when rivaly buff is active, and building speed will boosted when it get hits. Once its fully enraged, Pliosaurus will receive following effect for 60 seconds, making it into unstoppable beast: - additonal 20% increaed damage, resistance, health/stamina regen, and movement/attack speed - immune to stun - able to damage metal structures - bite attack inflicts bleeding After enraged buff ended it will get into resting state for 10 second before it could get the rivaly buff again. - Tamed Pliosaurs can also get rivaly buff from ally Pliosaurus, but that will not make them to build rage. Rage can only build by wild or enemy creatures. - With its massive jaw, Pliosaurus can grab and carry other sea creatures up to size of Dunkle. Grabbed creatures size up to angler fish can be swallowed whole and heal the pliosaurus. - Because of its gluttonous nature, Pliosaurus can rip the huge chunk of flesh from bigger target to heal itself and makes victim bleed. - Pliosaurus can perform short distance-charging spin with its powerful flippers, making it not just more agile for a moment, but also possible to escape from whatever blocking its way with some stunning flipper slap. Pliosaurus can escape from tuso grab and some surrounding group of sea creatures by using this. - Pliosaurus's flippers gives some great mobility to itself, making it possible to turn in place or swim straight down or up. - Similar to Tuso, it will not dismount the rider when attacked by jellyfish.
  3. Towering above the forest, looming over the Arks and high above your head stands Sauroposeidon Omniscience! Often found in small groups of two or three, Sauroposeidon spends its time living in marshy areas with plenty of plants for it to eat. They like to spend their time around trees and water, so swampy areas or other wet places like beaches and lakes are where they will most often be found. Touted as one of the tallest sauropods ever discovered, Sauroposeidon lives up to its name by being a massive animal that makes the largest predators look like compsognathus skittering around below it. Its intimidating stature means that anything in its way is likely to make room, for fear of being crushed in its wake. While not the heaviest of the Arks' titanosaurs, it makes up for its "lighter" status by being much more vigilant to approaching threats. With its towering height, Sauroposeidon is able to see farther than any other land-dwelling creature, which gives it plenty of advantage when it comes to watching out for predators - or survivors. In groups, their ability to see any approaching threat is extended, increasing the radius that they can detect danger. When a Sauroposeidon spots a threat, it bellows out to inform any other nearby creatures to flee (or fight, if they would be neutral to the threat). Considering Sauroposeidon is not the fastest animal, the advantage of knowing exactly where its natural threats are is essential to its survival. While Sauroposeidon can see more than any creature on an Ark, it doesn't exactly see better than anything. Plants and grasses tend to blend together, so Sauroposeidon will see anything that looks like a bush as a bush (ghillie!). If Sauroposeidon has trouble scanning its surrounding with its long neck, it has another tactic for finding any threats. Using a "seismic sonar", Sauroposeidon can use its weight to stomp the ground it stands on, sending out shockwaves that can detect any living thing around it that is moving around on the ground. Sauroposeidon will know exactly what is around it, and exactly where it is at the time the shockwave reached it, as long as it is moving. Anything that is not moving is much harder for the sauropod to notice, and it assumes stationary objects to be rocks or other natural formations. Any creature close to Sauroposeidon when it brings its foot down will be sent flying away a short distance, making it a useful technique not just for surveillance, but also for defense. Any tribe would love to have a Sauroposeidon to keep an eye out for enemies or predators. Taming a Sauroposeidon is a tricky task, as they are constantly on high alert. If a survivor manage to approach one without startling it, they will have to earn its trust by bonding with the giant. Waves of predators (increasing in quantity/difficulty depending on level) will spawn trying to attack Sauroposeidon, and it's up to the survivor(s) to defend the animal. Taming effectiveness is determined by how quickly waves are cleared and how many threats manage to reach the Sauroposeidon. Anything that gets close may be stomped on by the towering titan, so survivors would be wise to clear out any predators quickly, and to steer clear of those tree trunks for legs! Once all the waves are cleared, the taming process is complete. When tamed, Sauroposeidon acts like a sentry array, constantly watching for danger. Survivors will have the option to scan for other creatures, hostile creatures, other survivors, or anything that moves. The benefit of Sauroposeidon's height is that it can track larger, closer creatures most precisely, constantly revealing their position to its tribe (think Tek helmet visor), but anything beyond a certain point will just be marked (Parasaur alarm). Having multiple Sauroposeidon will increase the radius that creatures can be detected, and also slightly improves accuracy. When equipped with a saddle, a small camera will be placed in the muzzle on its head, allowing for a connection to a Tek Surveillance console. This will allow survivors to accurately track anything the Sauroposeidon can see. If equipped with a Tek saddle, Sauroposeidon's threat-detecting abilities are greatly enhanced, allowing it to track all creatures on the Ark (like S+ Transmitter). The Tek saddle has a built-in surveillance console that functions the same as the regular saddle. Sauroposeidon will still have the ability to slam its foot into the ground to send out a seismic wave and detect threats for its allies. The radius of the stomp can be increased by leveling up Sauroposeidon's weight stat. Once a threat has been detected, the tribe can decide through Sauroposeidon's radial menu how they want the situation handled: flee, fight or wait. Sauroposeidon will let out a bellow to whistle groups of the tribe's creatures to take out the threat, run from it, or stand and be ready to fight. While not exactly built for combat, Sauroposeidon is still an enormous animal that can do a lot of damage if it throws its weight around. It's height makes it difficult to do anything with its neck, but its tail can still be swung around to do damage. On top of that, it can use its weight for more than just scanning the ground: one heavy step can do a lot of damage to anything caught underneath of a Sauroposeidon. Anything that survives the crushing force of its foot will be knocked away. (I am not the best artist)
  4. Stupendemys was a tortoise of titanic proportions that lived in the Miocene in northern South America, but this subspecies still managed to surpass that size. Wild: In the wild, stupendemys natator is a born hunter hunting animals from fish and mainly sarcosuchus which is her favorite dish, being an agile swimmer one can expect that her speed on land is not the best but on the contrary she is very fast on land. Domestication method: The taming of stupendemys natator is not the easiest you will have to find a stupendemys nest where you will feed a chick with meat and start a domestication process where if you give it a time when the stupendemys mother is on the prowl she will attack you after this process you will have a strong hoof companion by your side. Skills: Bite: Basic attack with moderate damage. Bite Throw: In this skill your stupendemys throws its neck forward grabbing with a bite and pull for heavy damage. Claws in sight: Attack with the stupendemys claws which only works in water and removes it from handling by argentavis, rhyniognatha and Quetzalcoatl. Liabilities: Crocodile Killer: This passive brings a buff that increases damage against sarcosuchus by 200%. Piranha Repellent: Scares nearby megapiranhas into fear and flees. Hardened Hoof: Decreases damage dealt to creature by 15%. Dossier: I saw few creatures with an affection for a certain type of prey as Stupendemys natator has, this giant is native to beaches, swamps and rivers and is a literal thick shell its claws prevent it from being caught in the claws of animals like Rhyniognatha and Quetzalcoatl, in addition to its swimming speed which is incredible, remember these animals are very jealous of their young but their domestication can only be done from them so it is necessary.
  5. Name: Megistotherium Diet: Carnivore Species: Osteothlastes Time: Early Miocene Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Megistotherium is a group Mammal (and similar to a Dinopithecus group they have babys in their groups).
Megisthotheriums are Aggressive and have an interesting behavior. They hide Stuff wich they hunted. In their hidden stuff are consumables like egg variants and meat variants, 20% Flak Bps chance, saddle Bps (including raw mutton meat and a new bone item wich you get from their hidden stuff) to be found if you find their hidden stuff. The hidden stuff will look like a hidden Purlovia if hidden under a surface. The higher the level of a Megistotherium is the better stuff you get. The hidden stuff will disappear in the wild like a loot drop after some time.
Taming: Like a Carcharodontosaurus you need to give him a corpse and pet him or more to ride it. Then the taming will be like a Equus. Unlike a equus you must feed it meat.
Tamed: If you managed to tame a Megistotherium it will be a strong mammal to ride and to hunt creatures. It will be good for raising Babys, to travel and hiding stuff wich does not disappear when the Megistotherium is tamed(unlike a wild Megistotherium). Abilities: -has a roar which heals your creatures for 20 seconds. a roar for every 5 minutes to have a cooldown
 -can jump like a Shadowmane
-has a group buff
 -Players get cold resistance
-Can hide stuff -he can deal more damage on a Tank creature with the bone crusher effect -rideable -breedable -two characters can ride in one Megistotherium -it have an normal saddle(Tek saddle) with the Tek saddle he can swim like a Megalodon -the Megistotherium is immune to bleeding damage -Has bone crusher effect
With the bone crusher effect a process occurs that can go up to 100%. It depends on how strong the prey is but when Megistotherium bites the prey then the bone crusher effect increases a little if it’s a strong prey or a lot if it’s a rather weaker prey. If the bone crusher effect is at 50% then the prey will be slowed to 35%. If the bone crusher effect is at 100% then the prey will be stopped and the prey cant attack for 10 Seconds.
 -The bone item
the bone item you get from the hidden stuff of a wild Megistotherium is good when it comes to raising babys if you give this bone to a baby creature, it will get a buff. This buff will make the baby grow 20% faster, make the baby starve less and will give the baby 15% more imprint if imprinted. Another way to get the bone item is by building the bone with 5 raw prime meats in Megistotheriums inventory when Megistotherium has it’s saddle on(similar to the equus where you can build lassos with the equus having the saddle on). Since the bone is valuable it takes 1 min minutes to build this item, if you put the bone on a carnivore in its inventory and eat, it takes 30% less damage from other creatures, your carnivore deals 30% more damage to creatures for 5 minutes.
PvP: This creature is good for Hiding some Stuff and defending bases and a tank killer.
PvE: This creature is a great creature to use for traveling and hunting big creatures. It’s also good for raising babys.
  6. Unlike its Ankylosaurus relative, this subspecies of the real Anodontosaurus is over 6.5 meters and reaches up to 9 meters, but this is a kind guy. Wild: You will find the Anodontosaurus usually grazing on large plains with its young, it is a gentle giant, but when attacking its young it will be a great opponent that can roll like a great steamroller crushing anyone in the way Method of taming: To have the anodontosaurus antliam as your partner, you will have to separate it from an adult as a puppy and feed it with vegetables or feed, since when it is small, it does not eat simple berries after great care, it will become fond of you and will be a new ally don't worry he will eat berries as an adult. Skills: Compression: This skill can only be used by equipping anodontosaur with a saddle where you roll out and your turn is more spaced but it is faster and tramples smaller creatures causing great damage. Tail Attack: An attack that farms rocks like the ankylosaur and does good damage. Bone break: when holding the tail attack a bar starts to charge and at 100% this attack deals 200% more damage and leaves the creature paralyzed. Bite: Fruit farming attack with little damage. Passive Skills: Thick Armor: This passive brings a 25% damage reduction from close range attacks and 50% damage reduction from explosions and ranged attacks. Grassland Giant: This buff happens when you walk your anodontosaurus in a grassland where it gains 15% more stamina which is its weak point. Dossier: I've seen many tribes looking for this giant of the grasslands for battles and resource farming since its bushy tail and skill combination is quite dangerous, but remember with great armor comes great nerds, this armored giant is commonly found in the beautiful landscapes of The center looking for roots to feed its young but when tamed and incredibly good for its tribe farming like ankylosaurus and defending with the strength of a rex
  7. -------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCING MESOPARAPYLOCHELES THE GIANT HERMIT CRAB! ( The SAFEST mount on LAND AND WATER! ) ----------------------------------------------------------- (3D renders and Drawings by me.) -------------------------------------------------------------- DOSSIER 📚 : These creatures may look scary, but they're actually very friendly. You can find them around the beach, in less populated areas of the ocean and in the deep ocean, most of the time you'll find it in groups, trading their shells for a bigger one between each other. They can use their strong claws to stick themselves on the ground and let it go, throwing itself like a CannonBall! This is extremely useful to move around since the heavy shell they carry on their back makes them uncable to swim at a reasonable speed. DOMESTICATED 🦮 : To domesticate these creatures, you will need to get their trust with the use of their favorite object, their shells! A survivor can scare these Big creatures by hitting their Shell, making them hide inside their shells. While they’re hidden, you can use that chance to hit their shell with a Metal tool until it’s in a bad condition... At that moment, the Hermit Crab will become extremely worried about its shell and will try to repair it, and that’s your chance! Give the Crab the resources it’s asking and he’ll be grateful for life! ( Just don’t tell them the truth... ) THE SHELLS 🐚 : After domesticated, the crab can be taught to build shells that allows the master to see from the inside of it, giving them protection from creatures that could take them out, such as Kapros and Karkinos, but at the sacrifice of not being able to use tools and weapons when mounted. -------------------------------------------------------------- (Live footage of Giant Hermit Crabs trading their Shells ) -NATURE- 🌳 The Giant Hermit crab is a Docile creature, it won't attack the player, only if threatened. You'll be able to find them around the beach, less habituated areas of the ocean, and in the DEEP SEA of Valguero where they'll be found in groups, changing shells or hidden inside their shells, waiting for others to come for some shell trading or just hiding. Because of their shells, they have a natural stealth ability, making it harder for enemies to spot them, making it easier for them to live in the dangerous areas of the Deep Sea. -MOVES- 👊 • MULTIPLE PUNCHES The crab can lie on its back and use all of its limbs to perform a bunch of punches, one after another that hits multiple creatures • HIDE MODE The player can make their crabs go inside their shell while mounted or unmounted, this will make the crab unable to move, but will increase its defense while you wait for someone else to rescue you or while you want for your shell to do the work! •RUNNING UNDERWATER The Hermit Crabs can use the weight of their shells to get them on the ground, like if it was on land, that way they can walk underwater AND sprint underwater, something they're pretty fast at, even with the shells on! •CANNON BALL LAUNCH ( Better explained at SKILLS ) The crab can launch itself in the air like a cannonball, underwater AND on land. WHAT IS THE UTILITY OF THE GIANT HERMIT CRAB? When creating the Hermit Crab, I had the thought of creating an extremely defensive and safe mount! A mount that would protect you from being grabbed in the swamp, by flyers, snipped or snipped... a mount that would be perfect to walk through a cave full of creatures, or even to lead the way by tanking all the damage ahead! But the Crab isn't just a tank, but a very interesting one! It can create different Shells that would help you in different situations, so get reading! But don't be afraid, 'cause the Hermit Crab is full of weaknesses such as animations to re-create the Shell, being unable to use tools/weapons when mounted, Shell Health Bar, slow mobility, very low attack, and more! -TAMING- 🥩 The player will need to find a Hermit Crab, but how does one do that? The Hermit Crabs spawn at the beach and deep oceans, and always in GROUPS! This could be a problem for taming, don't you think? Well, not exactly. After finding your Crab, you'll need to use hit the Crab's shell, scaring it and making it hide inside its shell ( This is important because when the Crab is hidden after being scared, it won't come out of the Shell unless the Shell is attacked or after a long time, so you'll be able to tame one separately just fine! )... But don't worry, you're not hurning the crab, only scaring it! While it's hidden, you'll have the chance to get close to it and hit its shell a few times with your Metal Hatchet! This will eliminate a bar out of a few that will show up above the crab in the taming process. When you hit it enough times, the crab will start to get angry and the shell will shake, warning you to get away from it. When the Crab gets out of the shell and sees you, it'll attack you and you know how annoying it's to get aggro of a creature... but if it doesn't see you, it'll get worried for a few seconds then continue their day. You'll need to repeat this a few times and remove all the bars, and eventually, when all the bars were taken out, the shell will be almost destroyed and the crab will get out of it and start trying to repair it... If they do this alone, it'll take a long time and they will be vulnerable while doing it, so they ask for help! They will ask for some materials to fix their shell ( Crystal, Stone, Obsidian, etc.. ) for a survivor around! If you give the right materials, the Crab will successfully repair their shell and you just got a new best friend! ( Just don't let anybody know what you did... ) DROPS : -BASIC MEAT -CHITIN -ORGNIC POLYMER SKILLS : Even tho it may look like the Giant Hermit Crab is a water-only creature, the skills it has are really good on land AND underwater, but more so on land. 2 - SHELLS AND CLAWS! After years of evolution and being homeless, the Hermit Crabs found a few ways to take advantage of the lack of REALLY big shells... By crafting their own! The player can take advantage of that skill to make them craft some really good shells and claws that can change the way you use the Hermit Crab : • The Stone Shell ( Common Shell and Base defense ) Is your base shell with the default defense, but it's also the lighter Shell, allowing your Hermit Crab to move faster and throw itself for longer distances with the CannoonBall jump! • The Metal Set (A bit more defense; collection of SOME resources; No CannonBall move) It gives a bit more defense than the stone shell, but it also comes with pickaxe/axe-like claws! With the Metal Shell, the crab can launch itself into resources to break them but also use the claw that has an inside mechanism close to the SNAPPING SHRIMP'S arm that shuts to create a cavitation bubble that generates acoustic pressures strong enough to paralyze creatures, BUT in this instance, break rocks, trees, crystal, obsidian and more but doesn't expect much more than your usual pickaxe... What is good is that the crab gets reduced weight from all these years of "experimenting" with these resources, don't ask me how... The bad part about the Metal Set is that your Hermit Crab won't be able to make the CannonBall move and has slightly less speed while wearing it. ( The Metal Shell also has the format of a can in reference to Hermit Shells using metal cans as shells in real life ). QUESTIONS 🤔 -WHY CAN THE CRAB COLLECT RESOURCES?- The ability of collecting resources the Hermit has isn't completely made for the same reasons you would collect with a Angy, since they get barely more than than with the use of Metal tools, but more to help restock the resources being used inside of them to make the shells. • The Obsidian Set (Best defense; Damage; Inflict Bleeding by Punching; Less Speed, CannonBall Move distance and knock to Dinos) Is where it's at. Better defense and attack than the Metal Set and the gloves can give bleed damage because of its spikes that cut the flesh on their way out ( epic ) but at the cost of less distance from the CANNON BALL MOVE, less movement speed and less knockback by punching creatures. ( The shells and claws design is a reference to the Alligator Snapping Turtle's shell! ) • The Bio Toxin Set (A Bit more defense; Inflict Torpor by touching and punching; Less damage in general; CannonBall bit Inflicts reduced Torpor) Has the defense between the Stone and Metal Shells, but it comes with a toxic shell that inflicts torpor on enemies that attacks it! And when the enemies start to flee 'cause of the high torpor, you can simply launch your crab against them to continue to inflict torpor! ... The bad parts about this shell are less damage overall, and using the CANNOONBALL move will do less torpor to the target. ( The design of the shell is a reference to the Red Lionfish. ) •The Crystal Set (Small Defense; Touching and Punching inflicts high Knockback; Living Spiked walls when hiding inside Shell) Doesn't have much more defense than the Stone Shell, but it comes with great spikes around the Shell and Claws that inflicts high knockback into enemies and then slow them down for a few seconds, enough for you to push undesired creatures away from you as you walk/swim/fly. Using the Crystal Shell and the button to make the Crab hide inside the shell, the player can use them as spiked walls! Just put a bunch of them around a creature or area and you'll have great protection over that area! ( The Spiky design is inspired by the spiked walls, something you could use this shell for! ) QUESTIONS 🤔 -HOW TO IMPLEMENT THE BUFFS?- To get new shells the player must first grab the item and drop it into the SADDLE of the crab, this will make the crab go into a little animation where it'll get out of the shell and start to rebuild it, but only for some seconds. After it was finished the crab will get back into the shell with its gloves and shell ready! -DOES THE BUFF HAVE A TIMER?- The timer of the buffs is the quantity of the equipped items your crab is carrying, BUT it only goes down when getting hit or using the claw when punching creatures or resources. -WHAT IF THE RESOURCES RUN OUT?- When the resources run out, the crab will force the player to unmount and then clear/rebuild its shell to the basic form for a couple of seconds... So be careful with the amount you're carrying! -WHAT IF I WANT TO SWITCH/DISABLE THE BUFF?- You'll need to take the material out of the SADDLE, just like disabling a skin, this will make the crab do the cleaning/repair animation, forcing you out of the SADDLE, so don't even try to abuse it! 2 - CANNON BALL LAUNCH ( Underwater and on Land! ) 💣 🤏The Crab can launch itself, damaging everything on its way!📹 The Hermit Crab cannot swim greatly underwater when it has the shell on, something that happens with the real worlds version of them too, so in this iteration, it has to rely on its cannonball move, where it'll stick its hand into the ground, push itself back, then let it go for a cannonball launch of itself! This is a great way to move around with this creature that isn't very fast underwater, but a bit faster on land. While in the air with the cannonball launch the crab will hide inside the shell to be ready in case it hits any enemy in the way! And talking about enemies, the ones that are hit by the shell while in cannon ball mode you receive damage and any of the extra buff implemented by the shell being used at the moment. The controls will be something close to the Procoptodon. The player will be able to hold a button, increase the dintanse of the throw ( Like a Slingshot ), while honding the button, the player will also be able to change the direction of the throw, but not buy too much! Again, think of a slingshot, you can pull it back and aim left, right, up and down but not much backwards. The distance of the CannoonBall could also be something close to the Procoptodon, but faster. I had the idea of making them be able to stick and launch themselves from walls, but I feel like this could be... A bit too much. QUESTIONS 🤔 -CAN THE CRAB SWIM UNDERWATER?- Yes, but with the shell, the speed is very bad, so the CANNON BALL move will be a better option, byt WITHOUT the shell the swimming speed is way better, but you're WAY too vulnerable. -CAN YOU DECIDE THE DISTANCE OF THE CANNONBALL JUMP?- Yes, you'll be able to decide the distance by pressing "W" and "S" to push back or retrieve a bit. -CAN YOU CHANGE THE DIRECTION WHILE LAUNCHED?- You'll be able to use the MOUSE or A/D to change the direction while on air, but NOT TOO MUCH, so aim carefully. 3 - SHELL EXPLOSION 💥 🤏When the Shell breaks, it'll explode, stunning creatures for a few seconds and gives the Crab a speed boost to escape!📹 The Shell has a health that when it reaches 0, it'll make the shell explode and leave the crab vulnerable! ... Luckily, the Hermit Crabs have evolved to create a last-moment escape! When the shell's health reaches 0, it'll explode, throwing pieces around that'll stunt the enemies for a few seconds and give the crab a speed boost to escape! ( Don't think you'll Baryonyx this, because without the shell, the crab takes MORE damage than usual, so don't risk this! ). But how will the crab escape at sucking slow speed, you ask? Well, in these years of evolution, the Hermit Crabs got blessed by mother nature with a pair of back legs that help it swim faster to escape! It allows the crab to swim normally and pretty fast! ( At least faster than a Mega ). Sadly, it's of no use when the crab has the shell on. QUESTIONS 🤔 -HOW TO RECOVER THE SHELL AFTER IT EXPLODED?- Finding a new shell isn't easy, so your crab will need a couple of seconds to find one. The player will need to get out of the creature, the crab then will INSTANTLY dig into the ground for a new shell, then come out with a new one! But without any of the buffs, that'll have to be implemented again. -DOES THE SPEED BOOST APPLY IF I RUN OUT OF RESOURCES?- Yes, but there's a delay to it, so you'll be able to time a speed boost, but at the cost of not getting another for some considerable amount of time. 2 - SHELL SLAM! 🤏The Crab can SLAM its Shell to knockback Dinos away, but this DAMAGES the Shell too📹 Suggestion by ElPINGUcubano94 The Giant Hermit Crab is a Tank, which means you'll use him to take a lot of damage and punch bad dinos while doing it...But what if you're stuck in a bad situation such as angry Carnivores attacking you from all sides? That could be bad... Luckily the Hermit Crab has another skill that could help, The Shell Slam! Your Crab will lift its shell and hit it on the ground, inflicting knockback into enemies and giving you space to do the CannoonBall jump and run away! But don't think this is something you'll be able to do frequently, 'cause when the Crab does this move, it'll consume a significant amount of stamina AND damage the Shell! So use it only when necessary! 3 - HIDING MODE! 🤏Your Crab can hide at any moment to increase its defense, but can't attack back or move 📹 The Giant Hermit Crab has the ability to hide itself inside of it's shell, like the Doedicurus, and when it's hidden, it's defense increase by a good amount! Sadly it can't attack when hidden, so the Crab waits for the attacker to give up, or it use different shells that damages, inflicts knockback or torpor onto the attacker when they hit, making them run away after some time. ⭐UNIQUE FEATURES⭐ BARYONYX STUN IMMUNITY While at the hiding mode, the crab also becomes immune to the BARYONYX STUN, but as you know, the crab can't attack back when hiding, so the survivor could have a different shell that would damage the enemy in some way equipped or wait for other tames to dealt with it. DEINONYCHUS LATCH BLEEDING IMMUNITY Valguero is the map where you'll find a LOT of Deinos, and that can be a problem since they can latch into your tame and DESTROY it... Luckly if your creature choice is the Giant Hermit Crab, you can be safe from that ( almost ). When a Deino latches into a Giant Hermit Crab and tries to bite it, the only damage that will be done is to the SHELL, saving you from the bleeding! But be careful, 'cause your Shell is still being damaged, so if the Deino bites it for too long, it'll eventually break! •CANNOT BE GRABBED/UNMOUNTED BY CREATURES Due to the player being protected by the giant shell, no creatures can pick the player, such as Kapros and Flyers, or even be unmounted by creatures such as Microraptor. •CANNOT USE WEAPONS WHEN MOUNTED The Hermit crab has a really strong and protective shell, so the player taught the crab to do a little hole in it so the player can see inside of it... But at the cost of not being able to shoot and use any weapons while inside. •SHELLS TURN INTO RESOURCES • When a Crab trades their shells in the wild, it'll stay in the ground and can be broken as a alternative to Rocks, giving stone to the survivor. • THE CRAB WILL CLEAN IT'S EYES. Yes. SHOULD EVERYTHING BE ADDED? Of course not! I'm just throwing ideas out there, and i'm sure that some of it may be unecessary or could be simplified in some way... But that's something that WC would decide themselves! WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE HERMIT CRAB? The Giant Hermit Crab is a Tank creature, has very strong defense, but not much damage. You'll be using the Hermit Crab to Cross dangerous place with a garantee that you'll survive, but, he isn't immortal... The Shell Health bar makes it so you'll can only take so much damage. You can exploves caves, ocean, swamps, bases and more! WHY SHOULD THE GIANT HERMIT CRAB BE ADDED IN THE ARK? The Giant Hermit Crab not only adds more life to the Ocean, something that is very needed in Ark, but also to the beaches! They'll add new ways to explore and survive on this map with it's new Shell Switching mechanic, It'll change the game for PVP and PVE players! You'll be able to explore caves and mountains with the Crystal Shell to inflict knockback into enemies or even protect a tame on land or underwater; Go on a rampage with the Obsidian Shell and Claws; Tame underwater creatures with the amazing Bio Toxin Shell; Collect Resouces with the Metal Shell and Claw and travel through The Center with the Cannonball jump! IS IT OVERPOWERED? Even tho the Hermit Crab has so many abilities, you have to remember that it's isn't very strong or agile. You can't run or swim fast with it ( or even swim at all ), and you can't use the abilities for long periods of time. The Giant Hermit Crab is suposed to be a tank and a creature that will let you walk though places safely, you can walk into the swamp without beng anoyed by Kapros and Barys, you can walk in the Red Wood without being eaten by Thylas and you can be very creative in the ways you use your shell to tank damage. So this is it, the Giant Hermit Crab! This creature may look complex to some, but I believe some time using it could really simplify things. Every shell has different designs to help enemies identify them from a distance and the switching of shell types has an equip/clean animation in between so the players can't abuse it! ... And if anything feels too op or doesn't need to be here, tell me! You guys are as hardcore as me, surely!
  8. DOSSIER - Name: Stomatosuchus Inermis Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Semi-Aggressive WILD Stomatosuchus can be found in the Mushroom Forest, River Valley, The Fallen Nexus & Crystalline Swamps in Aberration. Its diet consists mostly of fish however it may prey on smaller dinos if necessary. Despite its large size, it's still frequently preyed on by larger crocodilians and some large theropods. If provoked, the stomatosuchus will attack the survivor, possibly trying to swallow it whole. TAMING To tame a Stomatosuchus, the survivor must passively feed it dead fish, similar to an otter. The survivor must wait for it to go to land and fall asleep, which is when the survivor must feed it. Fish with larger sizes will boost the taming effectiveness and speed up the taming process. DOMESTICATED Stomatosuchus doesn't need a saddle to ride on, however it does contain natural armour similar to a shadowmane. This creature is also very fast in water, almost being as fast as a Sarcosuchus. The Stomatosuchus possesses a powerful Giga-Bite that may be charged up while holding down it's primary attack. Stomatosuchus also has the ability to swallow smaller creatures and even survivors. Stomatosuchus is especially effective at helping the survivor obtain fish baskets. Fish will passively swim up to the Stomatosuchus where the survivor can easily trap them. Once tamed, the fish can then be stored in the Stomatosuchuses throat pouch and released when in another body of water. SADDLE Stomatosuchus doesn't need a saddle to ride on but if you wanna fight against any high level Creatures or Bosses then you must have to unlock it's unique Armoured Saddle at level 85 and this saddle is equipped with Two Automatic Turrets, Need Advanced Rifle Bullets and Gasoline to use the Turrets. Equipped with the Armoured Saddle on Stomatosuchus, then it is also 100% immune to weather effects. Finally, While you riding Stomatosuchus into the underwater, then you don't need scuba tank or else because Stomatosuchus will give you 100% oxygen into the underwater without sacrificing of its health or anything. And Stomatosuchus is 100% immune to Electricity & Aberration Gas radiation because of it's own Armour without saddle. Stomatosuchus can produce Gas balls inside its throat pouch.
  9. -------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCING MESOPARAPYLOCHELES THE GIANT HERMIT CRAB! ( The perfect creature to improve the ocean ...and land! ) -------------------------------------------------------------- (3D renders and Drawings by me.) -------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, everyone! First of all, sorry about the wall of text, but I really went IN into making this creature as detailed as it can be, with sections exclusive to answering questions that'll probably appear around. Now, meet The Giant Hermit Crab! My first-ever submission to the community creature vote, so excuses me if anything here looks or sounds too op/weak! The one who came up with this creature idea and some designs was my young little brother who loves playing Ark, so if you like anything here, thank him too! -------------------------------------------------------------- DOSSIER 📚 : These creatures may look scary, but they're actually very friendly. You can find them around the beach or in less populated areas of the ocean, most of the time you'll find it in groups, trading their shells for a bigger one between each other. They can use their strong claws to stick themselves on the ground and let it go, throwing itself like a Cannon Ball! This is extremely useful to move around since the heavy shell they carry on their back makes them uncable to swim at a reasonable speed. DOMESTICATED 🦮 : To domesticade these creatures, you'll need to wait for it to trade it’s shell, something they can only do in a group of at least two of them. After the shells got "traded", the Hermit Crabs will value these new ones quite a bit, enough for them to go out their way to repair it after it got destroyed. The crab will ask for various materials to repair it's shell, from rocks, pearls and flint to metal, obsiodian and even crystal! I imagine that one could destroy their shell and gain it’s friendship back by helping it put itself together... It’s messed up, you it’s there! THE SHELLS 🐚 : After domesticated, the crab can be taught to build shells that allows the master to see from the inside of it, giving them protection from creatures that could take them out, such as Kapros and Karkinos, but at the sacrifice of not being able to use tools and weapons when mounted. -------------------------------------------------------------- -NATURE- 🌳 The Giant Hermit crab is a Docile creature, it won't attack the player, only if threatened. You'll be able to find them around the beach and in less habituated areas of the ocean, where they'll be found in groups, changing shells or hidden inside their shells, waiting for others to come for some shell trading or just hiding. Because of their shells, they have a natural stealth ability, making it harder for enemies to spot them ( and so they can stay in groups for longer periods so the player can tame them). -TAMING- 🥩 Taming this creature will be something along the lines of a Gacha but with a few extra steps... The player must find a group of at least 2 of them, clear the area so nothing crazy can happen, then do the following: First, the player needs to attack the desired Hermit Crab until their health is low, when the low health is reached, the shell becomes extremely damaged and in need of a replacement, the player then needs to get out of the crab's sight and come back. When coming back, the player will see the crabs to start an event where they'll start to trade the shells with each other, the crab with the broken shell will get a new one from another crab, and that crab will simply bury itself in the sand and come out with a new one after some time. This new shell is extremely valuable for the crab and he'll do anything to keep it intact... So the player must attack it again to get this new one almost broken too! When the health is low again, the crab will enter another event where he'll start to repair the shell, but it can't do this alone... This is where it'll start to ask for materials, such as rocks, metal, silica pearls, obsidian, etc... The player must bring said items until the bar fills up and it gets tamed and rocking a new shell! ( I thought about reducing the tame process to simply breaking the first shell and helping the crab repair just there, but I really like the implementation of the event of the crabs trading shells, since it's something they're known for... And I think that after some time, it'll be pretty simple when you know what to do, but you guys could tell me in the comments! ) QUESTION 🤔 -WHAT IF ONE OF THEM GETS KILLED? WILL THAT AFFECT MY TAMING?- Yes and this would be one hell of an annoyance... but luckily these guys will hide inside their shells and wait for new friends to appear for some shell trading out of nowhere! ( This is something they do in real life too. ) But don't think you'll be able to farm these guys since they'll stop coming after some time, making the current crab dig into the ground and disappear or just... Start to wander around... And die to a Spino... DROPS : -BASIC MEAT -CHITIN -ORGNIC POLYMER SKILLS : Even tho it may look like the Giant Hermit Crab is a water-only creature, the skills it has are really good on land AND underwater, but more so on land. 1 - SHELLS AND CLAWS After years of evolution and being homeless, the Hermit Crabs found a few ways to take advantage of the lack of REALLY big shells... By crafting their own! The player can take advantage of that skill to make them craft some really good shells and claws that can change the way you use the Hermit Crab : • The Stone Shell is nothing more than your usual bit of defense, simple as that. • The Metal Set gives a bit more defense than the stone shell, but it also comes with pickaxe/axe-like claws! With the Metal Shell, the crab can launch itself into resources to break them but also use the claw that has an inside mechanism close to the SNAPPING SHRIMP'S arm that shut to create a cavitation bubble that generates acoustic pressures strong enough to paralyze creatures and in this instance, break rocks, trees, crystal, obsidian and more but don't expect much more than your usual pickaxe... What is good is that the crab gets reduced weight from all these years of "experimenting" with these resources, don't ask me how... ( The Metal Shell also has the format of a can in reference to Hermit Shells using metal cans as shells in real life ). • The Obsidian Set is where it's at. Better defense and attack than the Metal Set and the gloves can give bleed damage because of its spikes that cut the flesh on their way out ( epic ) but at the cost of less distance from the CANNON BALL MOVE and less knockback by punching creatures. ( The shells and claws design is a reference to the Alligator Snapping Turtle's shell! ) • The Bio Toxin set has the defense between the Stone and Metal Shells, but it comes with a really toxic shell that inflicts torpor on enemies that attacks it! And when the enemies start to flee 'cause of the high torpor, you can simply launch your crab against them to continue to inflict torpor! ... The bad part is that doing the CANNON BALL move will end up inflicting more DAMAGE than torpor, have that in mind. ( The design of the shell is a reference to the Red Lionfish. ) •The Crystal Set has not had much more defense than the Stone Shell, but it comes with great spikes around the Shell and Claws that inflicts knockback into enemies, high enough for you to push undesired creatures away from you as you walk/swim/fly. 2 - CANNON BALL LAUNCH ( Underwater and on Land! ) 💣 The Hermit Crab cannot swim greatly underwater when it has the shell on, something that happens with the real worlds version of them too, so in this iteration, it has to rely on its cannonball move, where it'll stick its hand into the ground, push itself back, then let it go for a cannonball launch of itself! 3 - SHELL EXPLOSION 💥 The Shell has a health that when it reaches 0, it'll make the shell explode and leave the crab vulnerable! HIDING MODE The Giant Hermit Crab has the ability to hide itself inside of it's shell, like the Doedicurus, and when it's hidden, it's defense increase by a good amount! • THE CRAB WILL CLEAN IT'S EYES. Yes. WHY SHOULD THE GIANT HERMIT CRAB BE ADDED IN THE CENTER? The Giant Hermit Crab not only adds more life to the Ocean, something that is very needed in Ark, but also to the beaches! They'll add new ways to explore and survive on this map, that is mostly Ocean, with it's new Shell Switching mechanic, It'll change the game for PVP and PVE players! Also, we must keep the cleaning eye animation!

  11. INTRODUCTION BLAKYPITHECUS The Master Of The Weapons Ark was born in 2015 and we all fell in love with its graphics, beautiful at the time, with the creatures that populated it, with multiplayer ... these are just some of the features that make it special, but I noticed one very particular thing during my dino lv. hunts 150 and my explorations....STATUES OF MONKEYS ARE EVERYWHERE, in caves, temples, tell me a map where these statues are not present. Some of you will have already figured out where I'm going, while for others the statues will be just decorative, a tribute to the jungle or to the second boss of the game ever, the Megapithecus!!....and if he told you it's not just that ? I'm sure these statues represented the arrival of something one day, something that would change the meta of the ark once again, the player of the ark needs a creature that can help him in defense and attack, that he can use its strength to defend us during our epic explorations and, why not, help us in boss fights. Meet the Blakypithecus, the king of insensitive nature!!! Initially the concept and the idea had started from the fact that I was not disappointed but a little embittered by the design of the monkeys of the time, it is true the dinopithecus has arrived (although it does not use rifles as it originally described ...) , but I thought that, now that the game has finally come to a conclusion and that it will now continue to rise for years to come ... to start the thematic team. Let me explain, a clan in the game manages to make a battle using only one type of species, such as team triceratops, crocodiles and then monkeys. Not to mention his ability which in my opinion was lacking in the game and which would allow a team to be highly versatile. Also I wanted to see not only a primate that finally walks on all fours and can be ridden at the same time, but one that is inspired by king kong (yes...i'm a fan of mostervers). SPECIES NAME: Gigantopithecus Blaky COMMON NAME: Blakypithecus PERIOD: Pleistocene TEMPERAMENT: Neutral-Aggressive RARYTI: similar to Ovis🐏 but more common DIET: Onmnivorous WILD Bigger, tougher and stronger than its cousins, the Blakypithecus has over time become the undisputed king of The Ark. Despite being famous for his laziness, he is not a creature to be underestimated, in fact their presence on a battlefield could change their fate in minutes, which is why statues were erected in his honor. They are solitary creatures competitive with those who dare to challenge them, so much so that even the T-rex fear their wrath, but despite their reputation as great warriors they prefer to eat and rest under the canopy of trees, aware that their well-deserved reputation as warriors will defend them from every threat. Their powerful arms allow them to deliver attacks that can both knock back or severely damage the opponent, as well as defend against attacks. His roars manage to frighten smaller creatures, such as birds of prey, carno and dilo, aware of the opponent's physical superiority ... as well as preferring not to be part of his daily menu. As if being as strong as a god weren't enough, they are incredibly intelligent, so much so that they have understood over time that using certain tools on certain occasions will allow them a easier life both in normality and in the bitter battles that await them in the future... Some explorers say they have found them almost everywhere as long as there were many forests or in temples .... but one must be careful, some "special" specimens have only been sighted by the few survivors who managed to escape them, they say they are more bigger and more powerful than the others and who with their impressive weapons guard the mysterious ARTIFACTS!!! Place of residence: dense forests of various kinds, mountains (in that case they will have a white color, as some yeti hunters assumed) and tamples! Trivia: The MEGAPITHECUS BOSS is only able to spawn Blakypithecus in Alfa mode, one for each time he summons monkeys. (size of best is the wall) ADDOMESTICATED Its taming varies according to the sex of the creature, if it is FAMELE it will be passive and you will have to give it what it asks for such as berries, mutton, rotten meat, etc. The problem comes with the MALES, because they will have a particular taming similar to amargasaurus and Charca, you will have to make them kill THE PREDATORS REQUESTED BY HIM!!! (Given the difficulty of doing this, you recommend taming them first and releasing them when they are sacrificed). The T-REXes will give more tamings if he asks for them. Once tamed you will find yourself a very efficient bodyguard. It can be ridden bareback or, with its saddle armor, it will not only have greater resistance due to the removable armor shield, but also have a second saddle on the creature's right shoulder, to allow a sniper to lurk. Of course he won't be able to use the shield when he uses his SPECIAL ABILITY, which I'll show you now. BASE STATS AND GROWTH Health 3000 +220 +5.4% 0.07 Stamina 500 +42 +10% Oxygen 200 +15 +10% Food 3000 +300 +10% Weight 550 +10 +4% Melee Damage 100 +3.1 +1.7% 7% 17.6% Movement Speed 100% N/A +1% Torpidity 2000 +100 N/A 0.5 Movement [u/s] Base Speed Sprinting Speed Stamina Wild Tamed1 Tamed2 Wild Tamed1 Tamed2 Walking 200 ? ? 700 1050 1100 20 Swimming 350 ? ? ? ? ? ? DIET AND COLLECTION OF RESOURCES He can usually gather wood for food such as berries and meat, but depending on the tool he uses, he can also flay carcasses for hide or hammer stone for stone and flint, and so on. it is an omnivorous creature, it eats everything that is edible. ABILITY and MOVESET (PVP\PVE) Its peculiarity is that of BEING ABLE TO USE OBJECTS AS WEAPONS: (trunk, boulders, giant boulder, vine, logs, cannon, bones, stalactites etc.) (!!!ATTENTION!!! The fact that he can use the objects from the ground does not mean that he can use them all at the same time, he will have to select on his personal menu the skill, or rather the weapon, and use that, AFTER TOT TIME you can change if it is too OP.) This special can be accessed through the creature menu, where you can decide which move to use specifically. The object it possesses also varies depending on where it is located, for example (Temple -> columns, large skeletons animals -> bones to throw ...). In addition to this, it has a normal defensive set such as: 1- The males have a fearsome WAR ROAR which, in addition to being similar in affection to that of the dinopithecus and being very cool visually, is capable of unleashing all the allied creatures of the same GROUP into a charge. ( He Can change the animation depending on the weapon he is using ) |CTRL| 2- He is generally able to use his Arm as a shield and, if he has the armor, he can use a shield that is unlocked with the movement of the arm, the damage inflicted by enemies greatly decreases but he will not be able to use weapons if parried. 3- Parry, Normal Attack with slap or punch 4- Heavy Attack that varies depending on the object it possesses, for example with the trunk it can make a super jump and hit the enemy with a super crash, like the ferox. 5- It has a Turret Mode, which also varies by the object it owns. It can stand on two legs, but it will consume a little more stamina. 6- The center is the ideal map for them since they are able to climb like the thylacoleo on the walls of the mountains in a modest way, but above all they are able to make jumps large enough to overcome rivers and pass from one mountain to the next one. THESE CHARACTERISTICS OF ITS MAKE IT INTERESTING AND USEFUL ALSO FOR Ark: The Survival Of The Fittest!!!!! - Females also being able to use the ability to use objects at will, she is able to carry medium-sized creatures in her arms, even puppies. FISIC ASPECT Its appearance is very similar to that of normal Orangutans, the only difference being that their size and strength is far superior. They show facial dimorphism, the males have this huge collar, the females do not have it (in addition to this the females have the ability to grab small creatures and bring them to safety). They mostly walk on all fours but can stand upright when they want!!! The colors vary according to the gender and the place of origin, and are colors of the type: red, orange, dark red, black, dark green, gray, white and with black or white skin. Mutations provide it with colors such as yellow, purple, blue, and lime green. DROPS Pelt Raw Meat Prime Meat Ascending Objects and Projects (Rare) FINAL CONSIDERATIONS Combat and Utility: Although at first glance it is a very powerful creature, bordering on being OP, it is balanced in the fact that what it takes to tame it compensates for its power in attack and defense, but above all it is a creature that would be implemented , (if Vien Diesel will help us) at the end of the game. This is not a role to be taken lightly in my opinion, because it would mean that it must match the needs of a player who wants something MORE if that can be said. Raid: Having said that it is a creature perfectly adaptable to the needs of those who know how to use it, both in PVE (Boss, basic defense from hostile creatures, Small resources, Alpha etc.) but at the same time also for PVP (it is a perfect animal for raids because in addition to defending players, with or without shields, it is ideal for attacking, which you can customize as you wish and it can defend the bases even when you are OFFLINE with the DK-style turret modes etc.). Thanks for watching IN SUBSTANCE, THE CHOICE IS UP TO YOU GENTLEMEN, I RECOMMEND READ IT ALL BEFORE YOU GET TO YOUR CONCLUSION, FOR THE REST HAVE FUN WITH THIS EVENT. I would liste your opinion!! Thanks in advance to some colleagues who have led me to improve my concept with their passion for the game and their advice
  12. Disclaimer: Placeholder artwork was done by me. Feel free to google me "Herschel Hoffmeyer" 3D artist (LoadedCrysis often uses my artwork for his thumbnails.). I may update the art with something better later. This creature is based off the real-life Ctenospondylus while also pulling inspiration from the Dimetrodon-like dinosaurs seen in the 1959 "Journey to the Center of the Earth." Say hello to one of Earth's first ever land-based apex predators... Common Name: Cteno Species: Ctenospondylus Time: Early Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Territorial Wild The Ctenospondylus is the ground-based apex predator of Scorched Earth and can usually be found basking in the dunes together in groups. While basking, these extremely hostile creatures almost seem to be in a comatose state, absorbing the day's heat through their sails. During the night hours though they can become much more active and hunt for food. When days grow very hot though, it seems to put them in a extremely aggressive and hyperactive state. While in this state, their sails seem to glow very bright orange to show off their prowess, hoping to attract a mate. Domesticated Taming a wild Cteno is impossible but stealing an egg is as easy as stealing milk from a wyvern... almost. These creatures carry around their eggs inside them, so you must forcefully knock out a female, access its inventory, and steal her egg(s) before she wakes up. A fertilized egg is rare and once you steal her egg(s), she quickly wakes up in an enraged state. So have an escape plan hashed out beforehand. Avoid a knock-out attempt during extreme heat as their torpor falls very fast, making it near impossible to knock one out. Once a fertilized egg has been stolen, the baby can be imprinted upon allowing it to be tamed. A domestic Cteno becomes an extremely useful mount for PvP situations, farming polymer, and incubating large amounts of eggs. Combat While in their comatose-basking state, it is best to just avoid them entirely which can be done quite easily. Just don't get too close or you will wake them up. When they are actively pursuing you, don't let them get to close as they can snatch you up with their tongue from a decent distance away, even right off your mount! You must stay even farther away on a flyer as they can quickly ground your tame with a terrifying and disorientating roar. The Ctenospondylus is larger and more powerful than a Rex and if enraged, can outrun most tames. If you must fight one, it is best to kepp your distance and use ranged weaponry. Utility Chameleon/Grapple Tongue: Use it's launching-tongue attack to grab up small and medium dinos and humans. Riders can be directly pulled off most mounts right into the Ctenospondylus' mouth! Once grabbed, they can be carried off or leeched off of, restoring the Cteno's health while depleting the victim's health (much like a Blood Crystal Wyvern). Level up stamina to increase the time it can hold onto its victim. Heat-charged "Metabolic Rage" ability: Cteno's have the ability to rage for a short period when their rage meter is full. This greatly improves their stamina, speed, damage, healing rate, and their sails will glow a bright orange. Daytime hours charge up the rage meter slowly while exposed to direct sunlight. Supercharge the meter by being somewhere hot or by shooting it directly with fire but make sure it is saddled so it takes greatly reduced fire damage. Heat Wave events fill this bar immediately and allow infinite rage while the event is going on. Disorientating Roar: This roar ability, which can only be used while in a Metabolic Raged state, instantly downs all nearby flyers. During PvP, this can be followed up with its grappling tongue ability to pull off the rider for a delicious snack. Use the roar with caution as it will fully drain your Metabolic Rage meter. Organic Polymer & Chitin Farmer/Storage: With a preferred diet of feasting on insects, the Ctenospondylus excels in harvesting large amounts of Organic Polymer and Chitin from creatures like the mantis and scorpion. The spoil times of Organic Polymer are also drastically slowed while stored in the dino's inventory. Level up melee damage to harvest higher amounts from your victims. Encaged Fire and Heat Resistant Saddle: The rider is fully encaged inside the saddle so they cannot be harmed or pulled from the saddle. The saddle also greatly reduces fire damage. Damage Soaker/PvP Aggressor: With a well bred Cteno with high stats in health and stamina, a Cteno can comfortably soak up damage while leeching health off of another dino that has a high health pool as well. When possible, leech off opposing tames to keep your Cteno healthy. If you happen to grapple a player and they die, their body is instantly consumed and their entire inventory is moved to your Cteno's inventory to safely access. Fertilized Egg Incubator: Placing fertilized eggs in its inventory will cause them to automatically start incubating, at a 20% increased rate! The limit to the amount of eggs is only limited to the dino's weight stat so level up weight to hold and incubate a very large amount of eggs. Sand Worm Hunter: Their sails will glow a cool-purplish color warning other Cteno's that a Sand Worm is nearby. Sand Worms will not challenge a wild Cteno but they will come after domestic ones.
  13. I will be reposting this for Aberration! Please give me a chance to! I also am currently working on more artwork for this cutie, examples of how it would look in aberration as well, and a proper size comparison profile for it! Bear with me as I work on these, and any future suggestions are always welcome & appreciated! ❤️ {Any comments and votes are majorly appreciated as they both help so much with our submissions! Thank you so much!} Hello allies of the Ark! My submission here is a jumping spider species that is said to have lived once between 23 and 15 million years ago, and the excitement of that discovery led to its last name, eureka! I genuinely hope to see Maevia eureka find its way to Ark some day, any support for it is infinitely appreciated, please take a moment to toss it a vote if you would like to see it around the wilds of Ark! I believe that Scorched Earth would be such a wonderful place for this as well, as caves have so much potential as a habitat for this cutie! This means it really could be in just about any map throughout Ark, and could be an essential travel companion within them! I wanted to fill in some gaps and explain a bit more thoroughly my thoughts on how this fluffy cutie could be an incredible addition to our beloved ark, not just for PVE, but PVP as well! I will try and simplify this and keep it from becoming a bit of a tldr as well. Ability - Cast Nets / Venom Droplet (these go together!) So what I was thinking is, jumpers could collect venom from their fangs using their claws, and gather it on their heads in a droplet, thus being able to quickly apply it when needed, and by applying it I mean as they spin a cast net, they gather some of the venom and it comes off onto the web, applying to it a paralysis / torpor-like effect. Another idea I had and will add onto this is the potential that only females can do this, and the males being more like assassins and their venom being killer, rather than torpor based, as this would create diversity between the two and make the female very valuable for taming, but not render the male nowhere near as useful, though this is left for thought! Ability - Latching As a jumping spider, they have outstanding agility and the ability to crawl on walls, but at a more rapid pace, maybe even with the cost of stamina drain for balance! An optional thing I had given thought to was the ability to fully latch onto smaller prey in order to accurately cover the target with their readied net. Ability - Locking On This is the single feature that would make this creature so invaluable, and even possibly make it require a very difficult feat for taming it due to that power, as with the spiders extreme accuracy, it could 'lock onto' a target, and the net cast would be immediate, rendering even jumping managarmrs unable to jump, though I do feel that stamina might be a way to balance this out! Trait - Scary Face This spider was designed in thought with evolving to be able to terrify larger than normal predators, making it an incredibly useful tame for bases, keeping your creatures better protected when having to move them around the map, I imagined it could come with an extra ability to raise its back legs with its abdomen to stay in this stance on the ground, or you could enable an option within the radial menu allowing it to find and hang down from a nearby pole, perhaps even a new item for the spiders and flyers alike, akin to a perch? Trait/Ability - Dance! The idea was that the males would be the ones that allow you to get close enough to tame them, while females will try to kill you if you do this, and when you find a male companion, he has the ability to dance when you find a female, you can engage in this dance, maybe a left/right/up/down type of button combination you have to get right in order for her to find your boy worthy of her prescence, and in the meantime you can shower her with presents of food until she wants your boy to dance for her again, gradually gaining her trust. When a movement is not corrected quickly enough, she would become hostile and attack, and you may have to wait for her to cool off before you can attempt this ritual again! Radial Menu - Silk or Venom & Potential Personalities! This could be a way to create huge variety in your tames, or even make finding wild ones way more fun, as it would give them a kind of 'personality' in a way, something that makes them unique between each other. There are two ideas in ways this may play out... A) Jumpers would have radial menu options of silk or venom/torpor, where these options could be enhanced with levels placed into them, depending on which one you would like that particular spider to be. B) Jumpers would have radial menu options that would be predetermined prior to the tame, maybe even with different venom types that they could specialize in, including torpor, thus similar with the gacha, creating an extremely fun way for players to want to hunt down high end spiders to see what they have, and if you find a rare one with torpor, you could use that as your taming buddy, or one with extended grapple length, maybe even one with a non-damaging torpor for gentle taming of lower level creatures! The possibilities would be vast with this alone. (This idea was put together from suggestions from the community, credit certainly goes to them in my case!) Dossier! If there's one thing I can say about Maevia eureka, you do not want to be caught in its sights! I once witnessed a jumper locking onto its prey with the most incredible accuracy, lunging at it with lightning speed and within the blink of an eye, its prey was being saved as a snack for later. They seem to have the genes of a few other spiders like that of the ogre spider, as it can cast a gathering of its webbing along with a little dab of the venom droplet it keeps stored on its head, working that into its web to create paralytic bolas that seem to render its prey unconscious. I have reason to believe the hairs that grow on its back legs came from the peacock spider, but due to its need for protection, it also uses these 'feathers' as a menacing face that can scare off large predators, I've seen some tribes set up posts that they can hang from around the fronts of their bases. I will say one thing is for certain, though they are nearly the size of a dire bear, they are quite the cuties, especially for being a spider, there is a certain intelligence you can see when you look into their eyes, I just can't place it, but they truly make remarkable companions with the ability to rapidly scale walls, caves, cliffsides and such. By no means are they a beast of burden, however they make up for this with their abilities to constrict or assassinate their targets. Maevia Eureka can take down much larger prey with its torpor inducing bola, the net cast, and this makes them remarkable allies for taming other creatures. Though I haven't been able to get close enough to befriend one of the females, the males don't seem to mind me being in a remote vicinity with them as much. I would like to add some wonderful suggestions from the community for this, including alternatives as this has dimorphic potential! [ Also seriously a massive thanks to the community, those of you sharing your input and helping with this with voting and even dropping supportive comments, I honestly never thought Maevia could've even made it to the final 20 even! You are genuinely appreciated! ❤️] Overhaul Suggestion I Overall, the creature will be balanced to have low to average stats. It will be a early/mid game creature that focus on taming with possibilities to use in late game thanks to the ability scaling on some stats. Female Rideable, with average health Slow, can walk on walls/ceiling Can't jump except with the locking on ability Cast net and Locking on abilities The net will consume stamina over time. The speed stat, instead of increasing the speed, will increase the drag weight of the creature that can be affected by the net. The max drag weight will be the larger creatures of Ark except Titans/Boss. Scary-face ability (cool ability but optional) Can't induce torpor Behavior in the wild: The female will be aggressive toward unconscious creatures and if attacked directly (not if others spiders are attacked near). If attacked and with no males around, the female will flee. As she is slow, she can use the scary face to evade. This is where the scary face has its purpose. If attacked with males around, the female will use the net on the aggressors to help the males. Behavior tamed: The abilities can be used only while rided. If the rider dismount the spider when using an ability, the ability will stop. Male Shoulder pet, much smaller than the female with low health Fast, can walk on walls/ceiling Can't jump except when using venom ability Dance ability to tame the female and mating The ability can be activated when tamed like light pet. They can't dance on the shoulder. Venom ability The male can jump and bite at a target. The bite inflict very few damage but a lot of torpor over time. The cooldown of the ability will be high to avoid spamming. The melee stat, instead of increasing the damage, will increase the torpor inflicted by the venom ability. Can't cast net nor use the scary face abilities Behavior in the wild: The male will be aggressive toward small creatures and unconscious creatures or if attacked. To attack, it will use only its venom ability until the creature is unconscious. Behavior tamed: The venom ability can be used only while on the shoulder. When the venom ability is used, the male will return to its owner if passive. Spawn in the wild In Scorched earth, this creature can be found in the canyons near the water in group with 0 to 1 female and 1 to 3 males. On the other maps, the creature will spawn in forest in a group with 0 to 1 female and 2 to 5 males. Taming The male is tamed via classic KO method. The female is tamed using a male. To initiate the taming of the female, it should be only 1 female and only 1 male around and the male should dance near the female. When taming the female, the male and the female should dance 1 at a time. It will be your role to stop/start the dancing of the male corresponding to the female state. If both male and female are in the same state (dancing or not dancing), the taming will fail and the female will lock on the male and instantly kill it. The taming process will last a long time (few minutes) until the taming progress reaches 100%. Breeding The mating process will be the same as the taming process. This mean that when you tame a female, she will have eggs immediately. The eggs will not drop on the floor but instead will stay on a poach on the female. It will be like gestating. Roles of the creature with that suggestion Anti-taming in the wild : this creature will attack the unconscious creatures so be careful when taming via KO as this spider can eat the creature you're trying to tame. Early male taming helper : the male will be easier to get and the venom ability will help taming via KO. Solo explorer/tamer : as the male is shoulder pet and the female rideable, both can be used to travel in solo and benefit of the mating boost. The mating boost can help the creature to be more useful against the big danger of Ark. Female disabler in PvE and PvP : with the locking on ability, the female can be used to disable one specific target in a fight. With breeding and scaling of the ability on a stat, it can be used even in late game PvE/PvP while being an average creature. Collection creature : dancing ad mutation are cool. Limitations of the suggestion The male will be weak (low health and low damage for the male). The female will have difficulties to escape (speed cap and have to be close to the target when casting net). A pack of raptor can easily kill a group of spiders in the wild, except if the female has the scary face and can flee. The use of the abilities when tamed always require a player and have a cooldown. So it limit overuse for PvE and PvP. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Overhaul Suggestion II - Another aspect is Weight being the defining factor in what the spider can lasso in. Cast net can go a little further but I think the Weight is a good measuring tool for making sure you can't just tame a low lvl and use it for say egg stealing easily. Cause if the egg is heavy it wouldn't be able to drag it. Could also apply to which creatures it could reel in on whatever animal it might be able too if you gave it that ability for say pulling into jerboas to munch and bodies or loot bags. Doesn't have to do all of these but these are ideas for what the lasso could do besides the grapple, even though the grapple is perfectly fine and I wouldn't mind it just being that either. - Some saddle ideas - Assasin Saddle - A saddle made with silk and lighter materials but reinforced by the sharp fangs of other beasts that turn the extra pair of limbs on the spider into a pair of deadly daggerlike weapons that can be coated with not just it's Venom but a myriad of other substances. If anyone ever played Rogues in World of Warcraft you'll know how this works. These could be narcotic or Venom based, stimulant even for some niche uses like dehydrating enemies or such, and even repurposing the virtually useless Trophies that happen to also be Venoms of specific creatures like Megalania. - Aerial Saddle - This is based off Another dino Idea I didn't get in early enough and will likely be ignored cause it was too late. But this is basically putting a grappling bar on the top of the spider where the saddle would be, and this would grant the female the ability to have allied small fliers (Lymantria, Pelagornis, Rhyniognatha, Tapejara, Pteranodon, Pelagornis, Desmodus) to perch on that bar and then give the spider the ability to use their Stamina and flight to the same effect as a Sinomacrops. I understand this is a crazy idea but I also found it too funny to imagine someone spotting someone using this and seeing a spider with bat wings flying at them out of nowhere. They are of course limited by the fliers Stamina and weight carry, and nothing bigger or stronger than the Desmodus can do this. All superior gliders or carriers like Argies, Griffins or Owls are not usable. I just wanted to share this part cause I thought it was funny and ridiculous but would likely never be considered or used. Parachute Pack Harness - Put onto the male if it sits on your back to help give it armor and could even 'upgrade' the gliding ability. Alpha Variant - Since Scorched actually does not have its own roster of Alpha versions like Aberration does. Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a chance for an Alpha Female spider to spawn somewhere in the map? This could not only give the chance to flesh scorched out more In that area and maybe extend it to another of the their special creatures like the Thorny Dragon or (Rock Golem, nah jk, don't faint) something but it could even drop the upgrades required to make the saddles for it that have weapons by harvesting its trophy, which could be it's fangs. Imagine that. Wielding a bigger spiders fangs as a spider. Putting the saddle behind a progression gate and giving a reason to put more special Alpha types in Scorched. Spool Saddle - This saddle let's your spider store an extra charge of its Cast Net when equipped with it. It could also have a launcher in the back that looks like a net launcher or something or a loom that you can activate kind of like a Tek Saddle's guns to go into an aiming mode. Bareback - I dunno if anyone agrees with me but I think it would be okay to have this Spider Rideable without a saddle merely because moving dinos is annoying and even if you'd get thrown off if you went upright on a wall or upside down like this you could easily position spiders for their scary face on threads like this. Upgradeable Saddle - Of course these are ideas that are separate, and what's to say you shouldn't be able to make a saddle that does at least 2 out of 3 of these things? The Saddle could start off as a simple one allowing you the ability to stay on the spiders back when it's climbing up walls, but then you would need to use its saddle to craft the other versions, or make upgraded versions of the saddle, or it could come equipped with the spools and loom/net launcher in the base version and add either the assassin weapons or the grapple bar. Control Mapping - As for all these abilities, we should put up a theoretical mapping of how they might look at if they will even all fit on say a controller or make a web of your fingers on a Size variant examples Male (Shoulder Pet) Sized between an Icthyornis and a Troodon) Male (Rideable) About the size of an Araneo but a little less spread out so they might appear smaller. Female (Rideable) The size of a Sabertooth or Terrorbird up from a Scorpion. Depends on how big you want them to be. Shoulder Pet (Male Version) Double Space Bar - Works like a Parachute if they have the silk, activates their gliding ability and jumping again cancels it. Crtl - Launches a Cast Net when activated or when toggled and then using left click to aim then shoot at the location of your crosshairs, this could be very useful in hunting, taming and caves as it could immobilize certain creatures like Bat's and other dangerous insects or small creatures, perhaps even stop things like pegos, icthyornis, Troodon, Arthropluera, or Megalania. Rideable (Male version) Left Click - Melee Bite, automatically applies the Venom like an Araneo or Scorpion does. Right Click - Toggle Climbing Spacebar - Hold and charge to jump at the aimed location, can jump from any angle and latches automatically to surfaces that are vertical or upside down. C - Web Mode, use Left Click to cast a net and Right Click to send out a lasso to grapple to the spot, letting you reel yourself up and down with C and X or Shift in order to either drop down or zip up and attach the the surface your lasso is attached to. The Venom droplet is passively built up and must be enabled with the Ammo switch button N to switch between regular and tranq nets. X - Scary Face/Dance - When used the spider will deploy its Scary Face and frighten creatures up to the size of a Carno. When targeting a Wild female spider, the player activates the Dancing mini game and must correctly perform the rhythm directions or letters on the keyboard as they appear like in the fishing mini game before the time runs out, if you make any mistake the female gets angry and attacks you. Rideable (Female Version) Left Click - Same as the male but deals more damage, the female is much stronger. Right Click - Toggle Climbing, is slower on walls than the smaller male is. Spacebar - Same as the male, but can pounce onto prey that has been netted only up to the size of either Raptors, small fliers like the list of ones I showed on the list for the Aerial Saddle or up to Owls, Griffins and Argents maybe with consideration of her size. Pouncing onto fliers could even be a unique mechanic for her where if you hung ou on a wall or dropped onto one from the ceiling you could attempt to bind them in webs and drop them from the sky or just bite them while latched on like a Deinonycyus. C - Same as male, but upon aiming at bodies, creatures small enough or loot bags, can lasso and reel them in to her to either loot or eat. She could also be the only one able to get enough weight to be able to reel in eggs of heavier varieties, by upgrading it you might be able to get a spider that can reel in Wyvern Eggs, but you'd have to sacrifice a lot of points into it over things that might help her out in say survivability or just stamina. This is just a possibility though and a way to limit this ability to only be able to drag in certain things while needing the female to do the bigger and more dangerous jobs. but has the potential to reel in possibly bodies bigger than the male, creatures, or even eggs of the bigger sizes if you put enough points into weight to be able to even latch onto them. X - Same as male, if she has the Scary Face biology even as a female (which I think she would have as the environments of Ark are really extreme) except no dancing. The Scary Face of a Female is able to scare up to Argies and Therizino in size. Overall Look at roles from these abilities. 1 - Bola and Tranq Bola, used to immobilize and knock out smaller creatures. 2 - Cave Exploration, would be extremely useful here, even if you nix the wall Climbing they'd still be able to net creatures that are really dangerous while you handle the ones that aren't. Or even grapple, function as extra grapples, or help tame certain cave creatures if you can shoot from their backs like Megalania. 3 - Low Tier Wall Crawler, the male is faster and has less overall stats while the female is bulkier and slower. Or in the case of a shoulder male and female, the the female is the ridden creature while the male is the supporting Parachute and extra net. 4 - Low Tier Base Defense, by using Scary face the males and females that are Rideable can be suspended from silk threads and placed around a base to scare off small to medium threats, especially argies which are an issue for mountain bases. Would this tame be allowed on Aberration? - No, I don't think so. Because they have not let you have Climbing and flying tames on Ab for a reason, it's supposed to be part of the progression of the map. Even adding Thylas or Deinonychus would severely break this maps balancing which is made to keep it difficult and for you to not just be able to walk past everything by Climbing or gliding to avoid it until you get to the Rock Drakes, have sturdy creatures or use Ravagers and Karkinos to jump around. Which are supposed to go with the deliberate design of rocks and cliffs that is unique to Aberration. I don't know the full list of compatible creature that can transfer to ab or even work since Extinction but I know fliers in general and climbers up until creatures like the Extinction and Gen or Lost Island creatures that dont explicitly fly can possibly get on there (don't know cause didn't try it). I'm not sure about the space whales though. Or the latchers Deinonycyus or Dinopithecus. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Overhaul Suggestion III 1 Grappling fliers ( might have already been thought of and just did not understand it )Maevia can "shoot" globules of webbing and hit fliers, gumming up their wings and making them fall at a decreased amount of fall damage from the wind catching silk (balanced so it isn't punishing). The fliers would be stuck down as though they were net gunned for a slightly less amount of time. Another detail is that the bigger the wings/flier, the more webbing needed to take it down, also depends on what type of wings be it webbed or feathered.2 LatchingMaevia could jump onto targets similar to deinonychus, and could dig into their prey and reposition themselves while staying attached, and possibly even slow down and web dinosaurs they attach to, preemptively webbing their meal.3 Babies, babies, babiesMaevia are spiders, and spider eggs naturally have many young within them. This would be represented by very high chances of triplets and quadruplets, with possibly higher amounts of hatchlings being born at once. And another part of this is that Males are more commonly born than females are.4 Worst date everEven in domestic breeding of Maevia, cannibalism is very common. If a female Maevia isn't impressed by a male, it will attack the male even if both are tamed, and will not stop until it cannot sense the male anymore, and if caught the female will eat the male killing it instantly. Be careful with breeding these hungry ladies. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Additional Suggestions! Grapple thread ability capable of attaching to eggs, though there would need to be equal risk to this kind of ease of reward. Alternative to the small male jumping spider where it uses the projectile webbing. Silk potentially pulled and slowly generated to spool(s) on their harness/saddle similar to that of a sewing machine, the ability to 'consume/use' this silk that's already been gathered to craft projectile nets in the inventory when the harness/saddle is eqipped. No fall damage due to their weight as well as the hair, another way this could be shown is if they release some webbing to drift lightly as spiders in real life do, possibly even shoot out webbing towards each of their tarsal claws where they stretch it outwards using their legs and somewhat glide downwards like a sled. The ability to lasso targets using their webbing, which could even apply to if it was shoulder-buddy sized. Two counter ideas, megatherium due to their high torpor and size and a weakness to fire perhaps. Alternate idea was added to the second art piece which was later added with the new coloration, where they could have large metal spikes over their front legs which they can jab into targets with applied venom or torpor, possibly even whichever one they did not have, this is an exterior idea I wanted to display with the spool on the side of the harness. This could even just be an idea for another dino in the future, where they could have claws covered in metal and dipped in narcotic. The ability to turn wrapped up smaller creatures into randomized resources over time, similar to the gacha crystals, or maybe even a fertilizer of some kind for a future creature. Another suggestion to add onto the male being a shoulder buddy is making it similar to the Sinomacrops in the manner of how it *hangs on your back*, where you could use it as the grapple or bola as suggested above. Maevia could have a bonus damage type towards enemy spider-kind, araneo and broodmother, reflecting the real life jumping spiders well known specialization for killing other spiders and eating them.
