  1. IMPORTANT: The current roadmap for Maevia is being discontinued. Due to outside circumstances that have suddenly transpired, Extinction will be the Maevia's last submission within these creature votes for ASA. To all of the loyal Maevia fans that have been behind Sovi and now myself, your support has meant the world to both of us! Thanks again for rallying behind this awesome creature we've all come to love over these last several votes! [Idea/suggestion by Shadlos, but we agree entirely with the concept.] (Below is a way for the different turrets to have their own clear strengths and weaknesses.) [Smaller/Lighter tier turrets] Highest rate of fire that also allows you to keep all movement abilities with no restrictions. However, all damage inflicted by these turrets are reduced by a certain % to compensate for the higher rate of fire while maintaining full movement capability. [Larger/Heavier tier turrets] Highest damage output of all turrets available. Something of a slower, moveable siege attacker with this tier of turret attached. The drawback to this is at the expense of drastically slowing your movement speed, disabling your ability to climb, jump, etc, and a severely reduced rate of fire. 🕯️Dossier!🕯️ "If there's one thing I can say about Maevia eureka, you do not want to be caught in its sights! I once witnessed a jumper locking onto its prey with the most incredible accuracy, lunging at it with lightning speed and within the blink of an eye, its prey was being saved as a snack for later. They seem to have the genes of a few other spiders like that of the ogre spider, as it can cast a gathering of its webbing along with a little dab of the venom droplet it keeps stored on its head, working that into its web to create paralytic bolas that seem to render its prey unconscious. I have reason to believe the hairs that grow on its back legs came from the peacock spider, but due to its need for protection, it also uses these 'feathers' as a menacing face that can scare off large predators, I've seen some tribes set up posts that they can hang from around the fronts of their bases. I will say one thing is for certain. Though they are nearly the size of a dire bear, they are quite the cuties, especially for being a spider. There is a certain intelligence you can see when you look into their eyes. I just can't place it, but they make truly remarkable companions with the ability to rapidly scale walls, caves, cliffsides, and the like. By no means are they a beast of burden, however they make up for this with their abilities to constrict or assassinate their targets. Maevia Eureka can take down much larger prey with its torpor inducing bola, the net cast, and this makes them remarkable allies for taming other creatures. Here on Extinction in particular I’ve witnessed the Maevia variant present actively protecting survivors from other creature threats. Whether this surprising, but welcome, protective behavior is due to a potential coexistence with humans from the past, or stems from their species’ understanding that allying with survivors, rather than attacking on sight, gives both the best chance at survival, I do not know. But who am I to question this heroic creature that has saved the lives of other survivors, as well as my own, on numerous occasions? Their intervention during confrontations in the wild has been a complete lifesaver." Hello there! I've been a huge supporter of the Maevia ever since I first saw its initial entry several creature votes ago. I'm not the original author/creator, which 100% belongs to Sovira and their awesome design/art/etc. I'm working collaboratively with them and posting in their stead to the forums so that they don't have to deal with things on that end due to outside factors in their personal life. However, there is no need to worry! Sovira will still be aiding Maevia from behind the scenes with new designs and the like for future map variants. - Delraz “Maevia Eureka is the jumping spider which is said to have lived once between 23 and 15 million years ago, and it’s now back for Extinction! Once more giving us the opportunity to possibly ride around on jumping spiders in the game we all know and love, Ark! I want to point out how much I appreciate those of you who've stood by and supported our jumper, yes ours! We stand together with this! It has been an uphill battle fighting against those who automatically drop Maevia to last place due to phobia reasons, which I do receive a lot of dislike for outside of here 💔 This has also been the case with our other dear spider friend, Yingi, and the snake Gigantophis from another vote. Spiders and snakes are generally the most hated creatures on Earth, after all. The jumping spider is quite fortunate that they are viewed as so cute to many who normally fear spiders! These are my thoughts on how Maevia eureka could fit into the world we play in, in a way that reflects real life jumping spiders combined with genetic modifications from other spiders, and how they might fit into Ark in a fun and meaningful way that reflects other creatures of Ark and how important each and every one of these creatures is. I felt that, as Maevia is more of a taming companion, this gives us a different way to tame creatures using a non-harmful method! As we all know, Ark is anything but hospitable in the slightest, there are many risks you take while engaging with your targets due to the fact that everywhere in Ark can be quite chaotic at any moment so having to be weary of your surroundings at all times is one thing, but the larger the creature, the weaker the bola... You may find yourself having to maneuver around an area and keep your targets attention while allowing for your jumper to gather enough venom to ensnare it once again.” [New Ability] 🕷️Architect The Maevia can shoot out a heavier form of non-sticky webbing to create a temporary bridge for smaller medium creatures and below (Para and below) to traverse to the other side of chasms, webbed ladders to climb up to higher terrain, or crude stairs to descend from higher ledges to lower ones. 🛡️ Saddle With the map's extremely harsh environment that has constant threats, corrupted, and OSD's, comes a high need for survivability! The Maevia's advanced saddle offers enforcer-like body armor (metal armor, -not- Tek) to protect its weaker leg joints. This armor also entirely encases their squishy, vulnerable abdomen. On the metal plating protecting the abdomen is a flat spot which allows an unmanned turret to be placed on it. Supply the correct ammunition for whichever specific turret that you placed onto the Maevia's armored backside to allow it to automatically target your foes in combat, both in PVE and PVP situations. 🏞️Habitat This is a creature that is capable of being added to any map in the game due to its likeliness of living in caves, but also as jumping spiders can be found in so many different environments, there particularly are no limits to where they could be found! 🕷️Ability - Tranq Bola The thought is that jumpers could take the droplets they store and work them into their webbing to create venom-coated webs that could be thrown like a bola. The webs would have a tranquilizing effect whenever touched, thus causing their target to build up torpor and eventually go unconscious. 🕷️Ability - Latching As a jumping spider, they have outstanding agility and the ability to crawl on walls, but at a more rapid pace, maybe even with the cost of stamina drain for balance! An optional thing I had given thought to was the ability to fully latch onto its target in order to accurately cover them with their readied net. 🕷️Ability - Prey Lure You're out roaming around on your two equus when one of them begins to pick up an irresistible scent coming from a nearby cave wall. Your equus is nibbling on a suspended droplet when you notice the faint glinting coming off the web it's attached to, within an instant a jumper has lunged at your equus covering it with its bola and is quickly wrapping it up in its webbing, but in order to free your companion you need to tear at the webbing, as a few good hits will send that jumper scurrying up the wall to hide! 🕷️Ability - Locking On / Jumping This is the single feature that would make this creature so invaluable, and even possibly make it require a very difficult feat for taming it due to that power, as with the spiders extreme accuracy, it has the ability to lock its attention onto its prey, much like our real world jumping spiders who wait for the right moment to pounce, and this could also be useful for when using its projectile web net, or if grappling with a single web possibly! This is a pretty big part of what makes them 'jumping' spiders after all! In contrast to its normal and Aberrant cousins, the Extinction Maevia can easily navigate the vast wastelands found across Extinction due to its vastly enhanced jumping capability which allows it to traverse greater chunks of terrain in a single leap, similar to that of a Procoptodon. 🕷️Trait - Scary Face This spider was designed in thought with evolving to be able to terrify larger than normal predators, making it an incredibly useful tame for bases, keeping your creatures better protected when having to move them around the map, I imagined it could come with an extra ability to raise its back legs with its abdomen to stay in this stance on the ground, or you could enable an option within the radial menu allowing it to find and hang down from a nearby pole, perhaps even a new item for the spiders and flyers alike, akin to a perch? 🕷️Trait/Ability - Dance! Jumping spiders in the real world have very little differentiation on sizes between male and female. When you have befriended a male jumper through an emote game and some bonding, he has the ability to dance for a female with your guidance. When you do the dance, the taming meter will begin to fill up, if you succeed with 50% of the meter, the bar lights up and gives you the option to continue enchanting her or to stop. If you choose to stop, she deems you worthy of carrying her offspring and she will allow your boy to breed with her, gifting you an egg if you protect her while she gestates! However, if you continue to 100% on the meter, you can outright impress her enough that she will bond with you and conclude the taming process! Potential alterations/changes suggested by others Maevia fans: The Maevia could also have corruption-like looks/effects similar to other Extinction creatures on its abdomen and it could shoot a strong corrupted climbable webbing. Instead of a tranq bomb what if the Maevia can use corrupted nodes as a special type of venom to inject into other creatures, thus inflicting a 'berserk' effect similar to corrupted creatures making them attack anything and everything in sight including humans even when tamed. This won't be instant though and will slowly come into affect similar to Rhynio sap attacks that can be cured with cryopod narcotic (because it makes it sleepier), or the creature being imprinted (the affect will take longer to activate the larger the creature). Instead of a latching ability, it could also potentially be a hit-and-run type of attack where it jumps on its prey/enemy, bites, and instantly springs away (the bite can inflict either bleed tranq or the berserk status effect.) The maevia can have 3 types of bite: venom bite- the maevias basic bite dealing little damage on impact but high damage over time. tranq bite- torpor inflicting bite little damage (needs narcotic to function). berserk bite- same damage as venom bite but inflicts the corruption berserk affect (uses corrupt nodes) Gacha coccoons, small creatures could be snatched and turned into coccoons, hung up and could produce goodies or other useful materials. Radial menu where the production, torpor, and other things could be enhanced, as well as weight of creatures depending on torpor percentage, for how small/medium/large the taming capability could be for jumpers. Torpor resistance due to thick fur/hairs.
  2. The scally bull is an agile and veiled creature with large scales and bushy fur. the scally bull has a mount that can be carried by 2 players. The scally bull can switch from a bipedal mode to a quadrupedal one. It can also climb vertical walls. Also, with its large red scales, it can withstand attacks and reduce their damage. It defends itself mainly with its claws and the tip of its tail, delivering strong lashes and if required, it can carry a load with its two large horns. If you give a female to consume corrupted hearts, it produces a milk which deals x2 in damage to corrupted creatures and removes the effects of the wasteland. his method of tame: the scally bull has a bad sight and a bad sense of smell so he is guided by it so much you have to attack him so that he attacks you with his infestation you have to make him collide with a structure or a wall so that The torpor is rising, you have to repeat it several kisses until he falls knocked out.

Male slimmer body, Female bit bigger, longer and bigger tail... can wak on land like snake, but can get damaged of overheat if stay too long without water. immune to electric/electric shocks Size comparison: Male : Crystal Wyvern sized, Female :about SE's Wyvern sized Wild: Ramuri lives at water cave beneath the sea. protecting their nest.. they are blind creature but very sensitive with scent. they will attack any strange scent near. their nest inhabited with Ramuri, Small Fishes, and Diplocaulus, only 3 scent they will not attack. same with wyvern/drake will attack anything stealing their eggs. Taming: eggs stealing, naked while riding diplocaulus to disguise Ramuri sensitive smelling.. fabric, metal, gunpowder, they can smell it. Attacks: Male can inflict electric shock, Bite, and breath water breath inflict knockback and damage (lightning wyvern ish but lesser damage). My submission here is a jumping spider species that is said to have lived once between 23 and 15 million years ago, and the excitement of that discovery led to its last name, eureka! I genuinely hope to see Maevia eureka find its way to Ark some day, any support for it is infinitely appreciated, please take a moment to toss it a vote if you would like to see it around in Ark! These are my thoughts on how Maevia eureka could fit into the world we play in, in a way that reflects real life jumping spiders combined with genetic modifications from other spiders, and how they might fit into Ark in a fun and meaningful way that reflects other creatures of Ark and how important each and every one of these creatures is. I felt that, as Maevia is more of a taming companion, this gives us a different way to tame creatures using a non-harmful method! The idea was that the males would be the ones that allow you to get close enough to tame them, while females will try to kill you if you do this, and when you find a male companion, he has the ability to dance when you find a female, you can engage in this dance, maybe a left/right/up/down type of button combination you have to get right in order for her to find your boy worthy of her prescence, and in the meantime you can shower her with presents of food until she wants your boy to dance for her again, gradually gaining her trust. When a movement is not corrected quickly enough, she would become hostile and attack, and you may have to wait for her to cool off before you can attempt this ritual again! There is a last minute really nice alternative way of taming these and obtaining females specifically that I would like to add, suggested by an ally of maevia! Alternative method for obtaining females! This would make it to where you would need to take your male that you tamed into the wild, and challenge it with a female! If you win the dance, the female will allow breeding and allow you to stick around, defending her in her vulnerable moment, giving you an egg (or web-wrapped little gift sac with a jumper in it or an egg or two)! This egg sac could provide a male or female you could have! 🕯️Dossier!🕯️ If there's one thing I can say about Maevia eureka, you do not want to be caught in its sights! I once witnessed a jumper locking onto its prey with the most incredible accuracy, lunging at it with lightning speed and within the blink of an eye, its prey was being saved as a snack for later. They seem to have the genes of a few other spiders like that of the ogre spider, as it can cast a gathering of its webbing along with a little dab of the venom droplet it keeps stored on its head, working that into its web to create paralytic bolas that seem to render its prey unconscious. I have reason to believe the hairs that grow on its back legs came from the peacock spider, but due to its need for protection, it also uses these 'feathers' as a menacing face that can scare off large predators, I've seen some tribes set up posts that they can hang from around the fronts of their bases. I will say one thing is for certain, though they are nearly the size of a dire bear, they are quite the cuties, especially for being a spider, there is a certain intelligence you can see when you look into their eyes, I just can't place it, but they truly make remarkable companions with the ability to rapidly scale walls, caves, cliffsides and such. By no means are they a beast of burden, however they make up for this with their abilities to constrict or assassinate their targets. Maevia eureka can take down much larger prey with its torpor inducing bola, the net cast, and this makes them remarkable allies for taming other creatures. Though I haven't been able to get close enough to befriend one of the females, the males don't seem to mind me being in a remote vicinity with them as much. I wanted to add some other suggestions in a simplified form, key points from what Ark allies have mentioned before! - Droplets could be used as a nameless venom alternative, slower to produce but useful in situations or great when you have a plethora of jumpers. - Alternative where the male is small, female is massive, male used as a shoulder buddy that has major utility such as making ziplines, grapple, and large bola, where female is the tamer albeit slow with a few things to keep the balance. - Gacha coccoons, small creatures could be snatched and turned into coccoons, hung up and could produce goodies or other useful materials. - Radial menu where the production, torpor, and other things could be enhanced, as well as weight of creatures depending on torpor percentage, for how small/medium/large the taming capability could be for jumpers. - Torpor resistance due to thick fur/hairs. - Potentially immunity to radiation, which would help a tremendous amount when seeking rockdrake eggs.
  7. Sorry this was just something quick I drew up to show my thoughts on how the creature looks... Common Name: Manul Genus: Otocolobus manul Time: Late Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Ello ARK survivors! The creature submission I present to you all is the Manul which is said to date back 1.4 million years ago. Now this Feline is the size of a small wildcat, but as this is a suggestion for Aberration I wanted to try and tie in some ARK lore involving mutation from the intense radiation on the map! This creature will be large carnivore and help with navigating the whole map with its unique abilities. If this creature interests you slap a vote to help support it’s way into ASA! Wild: Due to the intense radiation on Aberration the once small Manul feline has been mutated into an aggressive 6-legged beast of large proportions. The large beast roams the cliffs in the depths of Aberration usually found by the pure elemental rivers. Their extra set of legs gives them an advantage to be able to go toe to toe with even the reaper queens that roam in the same habitat. Due to the radiation as well as living near the molten elemental rivers this large feline developed an immunity to the radiation as well as the molten element giving it the ability to swim in the molten element without taking damage. Domesticated: This creature can be useful to traverse the cavernous bioluminescent biome of Ark. With it's innate climbing ability it will help you scale the cliffs of Aberration and through the winding radiation zone to snag some Rockdrake eggs. Once tamed this creature's ability to ward off the radiation proves to be helpful as it effects the rider and anyone standing in the range of this large feline giving survivors the chance to live near the dangers of the deep. Its size is around the height of a Spinosaurus back but no higher than the start of the Spinosaurus large spines, making it a good rival to fight off Rockdrakes and if the survivor is brave enough, they could tangle with the Reaper Queens. Habitat: This creature roams around in the radiation of Aberration, usually found around the elemental rivers as the element has become a sort of cat nip to these mutated felines. These felines are territorial, and one does not usually see more than two or three in some places as these cats are more solitary creatures except when the breeding season is upon them. ✨ Abilities! ✨ Passive Ability - Aurora Borealis Protection AOE Radiation Armor (Protects from Radiation when around the tamed Manul due to the fur collecting and creating an electromagnetic field with its large fluffy fur) [AOE visual effect is a small Aurora Borealis to see the range] This is based on the how the electromagnetic field surrounds the earth which would represent the static electricity the Manul creates using its huge fur and the solar flares symbolizing the radiation of the Element in Aberration. And when the solar flares happen it creates the Aurora Borealis which is why it would be a neat affect to add to show the AOE range of the Manul's radiation protection. The reason I haven't suggested it being dependent on a certain stat is to give people the option of living in the radiation zone if they would like! Passive Ability - Night Roam These creatures will get a boosted attack damage as well as a speed boost when nightfall hits. [Without the daytime debuff the Megalosaurus have to make this creature more map friendly] I truly enjoy using the Megalosaurus but due to the daytime debuff it isn't really used much that I have personally seen except for on Aberration which is why it would be neat to implement it on another dino but remove the debuff. Passive Trait - Fluffing Up When near an alpha creature (Alpha Basilisk, Alpha Reaper. Ect.) The Manul's fur will fluff up to indicate the Alpha is nearby. [Similar to how a Rockdrakes feathers raise when a reaper is nearby] This ability I feel would make it easier to find Alpha Basilisks as well as Alpha reapers on at least Aberration. Attack Ability - Creature Slam Creature grab and slam attack (both front legs for larger creatures [trike/para/ect.] and only 1 leg for smaller creatures [ravagers/raptors/ect.]) Using its most front pair of legs it can pick up and slam a creature down dealing not only a lot of damage to the creature it is slamming down, but also any creature in a small vicinity. It can do this attack as it is able to use its extra set of legs to balance as it performs this attack. Active Ability - Wall Climb The Manul is able to climb walls with ease (full movement including side to side, as well as up and down) can also attack while on the wall to be able to defend against Rockdrakes or Wyverns if you plan on using the Manul to steal some eggs! This could also prove helpful to those who use creatures to build bases. This ability would cost stamina as you move but would not cost stamina if you are standstill on the wall. If you dismount while clung to a wall, due to the creature's size you would be able to stand on its head as to not fall to your potential death, this would also be useful to jump into nest spots as well, as the creature would be too big to fit into them. Taming: My thoughts for taming it is to wait until it's sleeping on its back (this is completely based off how my cat naps and can be changed XD) - crouch walk up and give it some Element Essence* - it will be friendly for a short while after you do that and when you hear it purr you have to pet it - then when you do that run away cause when it stretches the Element Essence* will wear off and you will have to do the process over again until it's tamed. *This taming item can be crafted from Element Ore and Nameless Venom (to make use of 2 items that otherwise do not get much use) and make something maybe called Element Essence, my version of cat nip due to the Manul's love for the molten element river it resides by. Name: Sugar Glider Species: Petaurus breviceps Time: early-mid Miocene period Diet: omnivores Temperament: Ebullient (1863 illustration by John Gould) Aberration can be a difficult map to get started on, it can be difficult to traverse around as it’s terrain varies a lot in height a lot from all the different biomes, from the underground to the surface and everything in between. Early game there isn’t many options besides the use of ziplines or gliding suits, so this idea was to help with early game traversing. I got inspired to suggest the sugar glider when I came across two fan made dossiers by Interface5 and Seria602 which I will include below. I thought it would fit super well into aberration especially and surprised I hadn’t seen them submitted before in any of the other creature submissions. Wild They are commonly known as Sugar Gliders due to their love for sweet and sugary foods such as sap and nectar. There ability glide through the air aid them in reaching their preferred food and evading enemies. These gliders can launch them self from trees enabling them to glide 50 meters or more. They are more active during the night and tend to take shelter during the day in tree hollows. Its size cannot be ignored as it is several times larger than its pint-sized counterpart. They are very social pack animals; it is very unlikely that you would find one alone. Domesticated With them being unable to fly they make up for it with their amazing climbing and gliding abilities which make great to traverse the ark. Besides their amazing locomotion they also can strip bark from the trees allowing them to gather their preferred food sources. Fun facts - sugar gliders are omnivores, their preferred food is sap and nectar however they also eat fruit and insects. - female sugar gliders have a marsupium (pouch) that they use to carry babies. - they are nocturnal. - They are very social animals and tend to live in colonies of up to 10 animals - Sugar gliders can produce four types of sounds under normal circumstances: barking, hissing, crabbing, and hissing or purring, but when threatened they bark to warn others of the dangerous surroundings. - Sugar gliders communicate via their saliva and can make distinctive/unique scents that aid in identifying the hierarchy/territory, these scents can also be used in deterring enemies. thoughts I think a nice idea could be they rest during the day, either curled up on the ground (like shadowmanes) as there a lot larger in sizer to their smaller counterparts or they could sleep latched onto trees? (Like how the Thylacoleo attach to them.) Seeing as they adore all things sweet and sugary, I think they should be able to harvest sap and honey from the trees/hives. Since they are not fighting creatures and lack the ability to fight, maybe their bark could startle dinosaurs for a moment allowing them to run away. Maybe they could be able to care for babies in their pouch but limited to two babies maximum. Taming the idea for taming these, since they adore sweet things, I thought it would be nice if you could passively feed them, I think it could be nice if they would come running up to players holding their preferred foods. (Like a ferox to element) So, the idea is a large sugar glider that is an early game mount. With amazing ability at traversing the ark, a good early glider/climber. A top tier traveling companion! The one thing that is not at all present in ark is a creature for taming, some creatures like the poison wyvern and lightning wyvern as well as the basilisk have torpor attacks, but they do too much damage to be useful for taming, I propose the nephilia jurassica, a large spider (would be Enlarged to a rideable scale in game, acting as a sort of larger more useful version of current spiders) this arachnid would have a multitude of abilities left click (normal) a medium damage bite and stab that applies a poison to whatever is hit Right click (normal) A very low damage but high torpor (melee damage dependent) venomous shot, acts similar to a tranq dart right click (alternative) or c a web shot that acts similar to a net gun, downing medium sized predators and taking flyers out of the sky or alternatively acting similarly to a bear trap if shot to the ground (easily destroyed by sharp objects such as axe, sword or even by torches and such) The nephilia Jurassica would only be able to be obtained near still bodies of water where it can catch its prey, bugs and such. The only way to bring one back for yourself is through the closely guarded eggs of the females, which, you would have to harvest off of a female using bug repellent and a ghilli suit, it may take multiple tries as the eggs are fragile and easily broken! Once domesticated the large orb weavers eggs become easier to harvest as they less resistant to your presence. They may also be useful for producing an alternative form of narcotics in the form of a toxin produced from their venom. pictured is a golden orb weaver, a common day arachnid from the same family as nephilia jurassica, very similar in appearance although significantly smaller
