Orcinus Citoniensis - The Ancient Killer Whale
DodoNation posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
Description: The orcinus citoniensis was an early ancestor of the modern-day orca, that lived between 5.3 - 2.6 millions years ago. It's fossils were first discovered in the surrounding oceans near Tuscany, Italy sometime in 1883. Although it was smaller than the orca we know today (having an average length of 4 meters) it had 8 more teeth in its mouth, bearing greater resemblance to the common dolphin. Much like the dolphin and orca, the orcinus citoniensis most likely hunted in packs, and feasted mainly on fish and squids. Possible Abilities: *Although Wildcard will do whatever they want in terms of the orcinus's abilities, I have come up with a few suggestions regarding what it might do.* - The orcinus should be a fast, fully aquatic mount with decent damage and smooth controls - It could be a pack dino, and thus could do a bleed when they are with at least 2 others of its kind - Much like the basilosaurus, it could insulate the ridder in cold, underwater areas - The orcinus should have a wide range of movements, such as an above-water jump and an underwater barrel roll - Similar the the direwolf and fjordhawk, tamed orcinus could possess an ability that allows them to detect wounded creatures from afar - The orcinus could have an echolocation ability which allows them to emit a high-pitched screech, which will enable the rider to see the levels and stats of nearby creatures - It could also emit a similar sound that could temporarily "tame" any wild orcinus for a short period of time, and issue special commands to both tamed AND wild orcinus once they are on your side - FInally, it would also be cool if you could attach a fish basket onto the its saddle, which will allow you to instantly capture the first fish the orcinus attacks, making them a must-have in preparation for shadowmane taming Taming Method: *Although this point is just mere speculation, as wildcard has complete control over how the orcinus will be tamed, I have come up with a possible method just for the fun of it.* 1) When you spot an orcinus you wish to tame, you must first kill off the rest of its pack members. 2) After you have done that, and the orcinus calms down, you must approach it yourself (bringing a mount will only anger it) with either fish meat (cooked < cooked prime < raw < raw prime) or its preferred kibble (best). 3) Once you let it approach you, you will be forced into a memory minigame. The orcinus will make three different sounds, each associated with a key/button on your keyboard/controller. You must repeat the exact sequence after it had finished all three sounds. If you complete three different sequences correctly, the orcinus will slowly approach and eat a piece of food from your inventory. 4) After each feed, the orcinus's taming effectiveness will increase, but its affinity will stay at zero. Once the orcinus has reached 100% effectiveness (or not if you're lazy), feed the orcinus one more time and mount its back while it's busy eating. You will then enter an equus-like minigame where you must preform tricks such as backflips and barrel-rolls to gain taming affinity at a faster rate. After a set amount of time, the orcinus will gently dismount you and swim away. Repeat the process of the memory game, feeding, and riding to eventually tame your very own killer whale! Spawn Maps: *Speculation* - The Island - The Center - Ragnarok - Genesis: Part 1 - Crystal Isles - Genesis: Part 2 - Lost Island - Fjordur - *Possible Next Map* *Despite being most common in arctic oceans, the modern-day orca can also be found in tropical and sub-tropical oceans, though are less common in these areas. The orcinus could also follow this same trait in ark, being more common in the oceans near the many arctic biomes, but still spawning in most oceans, just in lesser quantities.* Why should you vote for the Orcinus Citoniensis? In many of my ark play-throughs, I have found that I always feel a sense of dread whenever I need to explore the ocean. Not only is it because most fully-aquatic areas in the game are usually nothing but bland, empty expanses with annoying enemies everywhere, but because most of the creatures you can take to these areas are simply not fun to ride. A lot of these fully-aquatic creatures have been in the game for YEARS without receiving any major update or tlc. Therefore, they are usually very slow, and have awful turning radiuses and AOE, making them a pain to ride, even if they are strong in combat. Although there are still plenty of semi-aquatic dinos that are still good for ocean exploration, they all seem to lack in either speed, manoeuvrability, or damage. That way, even if wildcard decide not to include many of the abilities above, I am at least still hoping the orcinus becomes the go-to underwater mount with its excellence at the three elements listed (speed, manoeuvrability, damage). The orcinus will be a great mount for a variety of underwater tasks: such as caves, missions, resource collection and just general exploration. I believe players will have a lot of fun speeding through the ocean on their very own orca, exploring the depths and conquering the sea! Do you have what it takes to domesticate such a clever, yet bloodthirsty demon of the ocean? VOTE THE ORCINUS CITONIENSIS NOW!- 4 replies

Name: Moros Intrepidus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Moros Intrepidus is part of tyrannosauroidea (Tyrant lizard forms), which is a group that consists of tyrannosauridae and coelurosaurians. Moros Intrepidus stood at about 5 feet tall and weighed 170 lbs and is one of the smallest dinosaurs of its kind. Moros Intrepidus means 'Harbinger of doom'. A lone or pack of Moros is no joke, and live up to their name. You are best to bring a good tame and weaponary to take down this foe or foes. In order to domesticate a Moros Intrepidus, it needs to be netted or hit with a chain bola and fed narcotic to knock it out. To tame one, a wild Moros is a picky eater once subdued, eating only Shadow Steak Saute. Once you have it tamed, you got yourself a fearsome, little tyrannosaur at your disposal. On the arks, Moros Intrepidus is a mixture of all sorts of large Carnivores, making it an invaluable tame. Abilities- Moros Intrepidus is great at running, making it an invaluable tame to traverse the arks with. They are pack animals and each pack consists up of two Moros. In battle, Moros Intrepidus can bite fairly quickly being able to produce a large amount damage in a short period of time. When it is in a pack, it is able to bleed out its target, much like that of an Allosaurus, courage roar for small to medium tames, much like that of a Yutyrannus, buffing its allies, and a health regeneration bonus from corpses like an Argentavis. Talk about an all rounder!

might be able to equip helmets and hold swords? if so, then it's default damage shouldn't be good (obviously) this would allow it to scale with the player bc you'll be getting better gear as you progress could be viable for boss fights with the armor from helmets and extra damage from swords might be ridable I'd put it slightly smaller than deinonychus, but i'm not sure maybe pack bonus??? This is the only place I could find decent information about the book I got this dino from The World of Dinosaurs: And Other Prehistoric Life: Dixon, Dougal: 9780764140822: Amazon.com: Books
