  1. Wild: While not as large as a Rex the Megaraptor still keeps it's place as an apex creature in the Wastelands normally traveling in a pack for 2-4. While strange that there are no sightings of purely corrupted Megaraptors they seem to consume corrupted creatures and enter some sort of uncontrollable rage and decimate any wildlife within the vicinity, including themselves. A fellow survivor wearing a ghillie suit attempted to research the Megaraptor enter it's corruption rage mode up close, but even with the suit they met a fatal end. After some time the Megaraptor will revert back to it's normal form and fall asleep. I've seen many survivors attempt to get close to the Megaraptor in an attempt to trap it while it was asleep, but it seems that the Megaraptor is a light sleeper and it will wake up and flee if it senses that a survivor or creature is close. Taming Method: Once isolated from it's pack the Megaraptor becomes somewhat docile, but still deadly. Wearing a ghillie suit is recommended if you want to get close enough to feed it a corrupted node. Once fed the corrupted node the player will have 5 seconds to run to a safe distance as the Megaraptor enters it's corruption rage mode. From there the player will have to protect the Megaraptor from taking damage while also having it kill corrupted creatures to increase it's taming. Make sure you stay out of range of it killing you as it doesn't know the difference between friend and foe. The taming bar will increase based off how many corrupted creatures the Megaraptor kills as well as the drag weight of the deceased corrupted creatures. The higher drag weight the more effective the taming progress and effectiveness will be. Domesticated: Once Domesticated The Megaraptor serves as an swift offensive bleeder and corruption killer. With it's sleek build, razor like claws, and the assistance of fellow pack members, it'll make quick work on any creature it'll come up against. While it has a preferred target in the wild being corrupted creatures, it seems that even domesticated it will want to eat a corrupted node or 2 every now and then to help it's addiction levels subside. Take caution while feeding it corrupted nodes as too many corrupted nodes in a short amount of time will lead to it going completely berserk and shred through anyone and anything in the area. It's a creature that requires care and patience if you want to see it's true potential, but it'll be a reliable ally in battle with enough training. Abilities: Left click attack: The Megaraptor attacks with it's claws causing a bleed that deals 0.7% of the target's HP over 15 seconds. This attack can be stacked 5 times dealing 3.5% of the target's max HP. Right Click attack: A pounce that'll launch the Megaraptor to the target. While latched to the target using it's claws the Megaraptor will begin to bleed the target and slowly drain the HP of the target while consuming it's stamina. R key: Enables a pack leader roar that increases the pack speed and attack speed for the next 2 minutes (Must be in a pack of 3-5) Space: Leap forward (Look behind to leap backwards) Corrupted Rage Mode: While in this mode the Megaraptor will have a boost in speed, attack, resistance to damage, resistance to tek turrets, and an immunity to fall damage. This effect will last for 20 minutes and have a 15 minute cooldown after the rage mode has subsided. Passive ability: A natural 4x damage buff against corrupted creatures *The Pack Leader buff and Corrupted Rage Mode can be used simultaneously* How to increase the corrupted node addiction levels: After taming the Megaraptor will want a corrupted node and increase how long the Corrupted Rage Mode will stay active. Every tamed Megaraptor will start out at 0% addiction level and will increase each time you feed it a corruption node. Take caution while feeding the Megaraptor corrupted nodes as each time it'll want more and more nodes and if you feed it too man nodes it'll enter the Corrupted Rage Mode and attack creatures, players, and structures in the area regardless if they are part of your tribe. There will be a slight indication in the eating animation that'll tell the player one more feed will send it into it's corrupted rage mode and the player should not feeding it. Misc: Saddle unlocks at 87 Because Corrupted nodes can not be transferred you will have to feed the Megaraptor 1 piece of element ore to enter the corrupted rage mode on other maps.
  2. Concept by Tweee, JimmyYeet123 and friends, art by the amazing RiskyBiscuits! I introduce the Nothosaurus lucidus! This marine reptile can be found in the oceans and beaches in the center in packs from 2 to 5 individual with their razor sharp teeth and high mobility paired in a pack is a dangerous sight. Nothosaurus can be found laying on the surface on their backs or hunting for any fish that swims near. The nothosaurus has a dull color and pattern but when the nothosaurus warms up in the sun this will change in a deep black with beautiful bioluminescent patterns! After a day the warmth will decrease and when not warmed up your nothosaurus won’t have as much stamina and strength but the only thing you have to do is place it in the hot sun of the arks to charge them up and not let them go in snowy biomes as the snow might be too much. The nothosaurus has a sack on his throat that it uses to scoop up fish to save for later and when tamed can be used as a fishing basket! The nothosaurus does have another trick up it’s sleeve as when using the heat of its body it can make the water in his sack boiling hot! This makes your notho a mobile cooking pot and you can cook your food in here aswell as craft! If your not feeling crafty the boiling water can also be used as a weapon. Choose between the settings and shoot a beam, rapid fire or when on land a mist cloud that will blind creatures. SPECIAL ITEM: The nothosaurus also has a new item, a glow dye that can be applied to armor. Notho Buffs/effects and abilities Nothosaurus has a pack buff Speed of a sarco on land breaching the surface of the water will briefly propel you forward with a fast pace and will give you a 5 second speed boost but this does drain lots of stamina the boiling water can be used to penetrate armor when Nothos are in packs (in groups of 4+) , they will have a pack roar that gives a fear debuff to sea creatures that confuses them and makes them easier to kill in a group, allowing them to handle the ocean caves of the arks! it when in packs, also doesnt dismount you when attacked by a jellyfish Boiling mist: on land notho will spit out a piping hot mist that will blind foes. Boiling beam: this beam will do a chain of damage and will give you the new status effect, SCALDED this will nullify armor of creatures and survivors by 50% Boiling shots: these will work like rapid fire and can be used to stack up a lesser scalding nullifying armor by 5% every shot. (I know the font is different) [Possible other abilities] The nothosaurus has a strong tail with rather strong fibers on them. When brushes against solid rock static electricity will gather up with the tail puffing up to deal shocking blows to your enemies! This effect will rapidly give your opponents shocks in a span of 60 seconds. Shocksurge this effect lasts a minute and will deal a chain of shocks to a opponent slowing them down. Nothosaurus will glow red when a alpha is near and yellow when a max level is near. Increased pearl gathering Taming: To tame a notho you need to kill it’s pack whereafter it will go passive drop a pearl this can either be a black pearl or silca pearl. Nothosaurus will pick it up to do a pearl check if it doesn’t like it it will drop it and you wil have to wait. If it does like it it will start playing this is the time to go up to it to feed it tuso tentacles! Rinse and repeat In the inventory a exclusive item can be made this item is BIO DYE this will be made by mixing bio spit and your dye of choice This will give your creatures or armor a nice glow that looks great and shines in the dark! Because of the spit mixed with water in its boiling sack you are perfectly able to shoot underwater as the substance is thicker than water itself I hope you like this creature! It will be both good on land and in water giving you great pve choices and making the oceans a bit more interesting with this creatures menacing deep sea appearance! Dossier is a WIP and credits to Riskybiscuits the creator of fasolasuchus for the amazing art! Below is old Legacy design (please give us your thoughts on which one you perfer)
  3. ORCINUS PALEORCA Dossier: “Orcinus Paleorca might appear closely related to the other dolphins and whales of the Ark’s oceans, but it’s certainly not as friendly. Orcinus is a fearsome pack hunter, often forming pods of up to eight individuals, in order to hunt the largest prey in the deep, dark ocean of The Center. These Orcas are agile, powerful hunters that easily hunt Megalodon, tearing off Prime Fish as easily as I could pick a flower. Their teeth seem perfectly adapted to carving their prey, and their thick skin makes them immune to all bio-electricity! Taming Orcinus is difficult, as they cannot be knocked out when surrounded by fellow Orcinus. One must be lured away or trapped, and the pod must be lured away – difficult due to their loyalty to one another! If tamed, they can be fed bio-toxin to activate their bioluminescent capabilities, turning Orcinus into an underwater flashlight! A tamed pod is a force to be reckoned with, and never stray too far from each other. They are highly intelligent, and I’ve seen them care for baby sea creatures with an aggression not yet matched by any other animal on the Ark!” Image at the bottom! Art by @gregsavvidesart - give him a websearch! -------------- Orcinius Paleorca – the bioluminescent bunch of buddies! This creature is designed to be the Allosaurus of the sea – fun on its own, but downright terrifying in a pod. Orca are top predators in our oceans (Screw you yachts!) and can always be found in a pod, preying on sharks, whales, and anything and everything else. The Orcinus will be your go-to sea tame; powerful and fast, with a focus on solo scouting and defensive capabilities to ensure Megalodon aren’t a threat, along with jellies and those blasted eels. Orcinus is fun on its own, but grab some tribemates and hop on other Orcinus, and you’ll see the benefits! The leader gets a buff which boosts other Orcinus attack rating by 10%, and increases their swim speed by a flat 15%! This applies to both ridden and unridden Orcinus, and you can easily command your fellow Orcinus to attack a target while you stay back. The ocean is a scary place on Ark, and you never know what’s lurking round the next rock stack. Thankfully, the Orcinus Paleorca have evolved to sense the largest creatures in the ocean, so prepare to be pinged like the Parasaur radar whenever they sense the fiery charge of an Alpha creature! They can toggle on a flashlight mode when loaded with bio-toxin, creating a large area of light akin to the mining helmet but more powerful! No more dark, lonely dives!! Wild Orcinus are relatively peaceful creatures when it comes to Survivors; they’re smart enough to know harpoons hurt! Whilst they wont necessarily attack swimmers out at sea, any act of aggression will bring the pod down on you, and good luck surviving that assault! Tamed Orcinus are particularly loyal to not only their rider, but to their young. They see any tamed baby sea creature as their own, and they can be set to “patrol” the area around a specific baby; this will make them enter aggression mode, and they’ll seek out anything that’s a threat within range and tear it to pieces before they even aggro your baby. They’ll then return to the baby and keep watch while you do you. The Orcinus’ eye patches lights up in the dark ocean, to act as a natural light down in the deep! Whilst this isn’t necessarily accurate, the Ark has strange ways of changing a creature! This would be infinitely useful when down in the ocean at night, as the pitch-black waters will be a little less scary with a helpful nightlight…or eight!! The deep ocean will no longer be a scary, lonely, dark place with these guys around, so long as you have plenty of bio-toxin!!
  4. Edit: To address the comments discussing why this is not the best fit for Aberration, I do not disagree. I did not mention this in the original post, but part of my intentions for this creature in this specific map were because this is the only map I could see this creature being fully used in. The Bison does not have any specific tie in to Aberration, and other maps fit it better thematically, but on those maps I believe it would only be used for the milk. All of its other features, especially resource transportation, are made more convenient and safer with the flyers on those maps. Aberration is unique in how most resources are not found in the area people make bases in, and without flyers transporting resources between the areas proves difficult at times. I wanted some way to make this task easier and safer, but it makes sense why some do not like this creature for the map. If response to the creature is good but replies continue to disagree with it being in Aberration, I may submit it for the other maps instead. Another play at the Giant Bison, this one based on Bison priscus. It may seem too normal for Aberration, but these creatures are uniquely equipped to deal with the hostile environment and can have abilities that tie in to existing features of the map. The idea was to keep things simple, not giving it a half dozen abilities and instead focus on adding utility to the few abilities it does have. For the moment, there is no artwork for these creatures. May or may not add some to this post if it gains traction. Wild The Bison are found in large herds throughout the Fertile Green Zone and Bioluminescent Blue Zone, particularly the large flat areas found there. Survivors will quickly learn that the Bison are gentle giants and will ignore all creatures unless provoked. However, anything daring enough to attack a herd will soon find itself being overrun in a massive stampede that can topple some of the strongest dinosaurs on the Ark. The only way to survive a stampede is to climb; running and fighting are futile against a sea of horns. Despite their strength in numbers, they are weaker when alone, so it is advised to encounter one in this state if you want to kill or tame it, though this certainly does not trivialize it. Taming Owing to their gentle nature, the Bison will be a passive tame. In order to be tamed, a Bison must be separated from its herd. It can be tamed by feeding it like other herbivores, but this will take too long alone. To tame it more quickly, you must surround it with other tamed dinosaurs that are of similar size, giving it an "adopted herd" so it does not feel alone. Depending on what food you feed it and how many tamed creatures surround it, its taming effectiveness will increase. Tamed Survivors who manage to tame a Bison will find a sturdy mount at their disposal. Bison are strong and have thick skin, so they are immune to most conditions that may affect them. Extreme temperatures, gnashes, venom, and even Aberrations potent radiation pose no threat to them. Riders must be careful, though, since many of these can still affect them. Despite their stocky appearance, they are naturally quick animals when the terrain suits them. Bison are capable of outrunning most predators in an open field, but are mediocre swimmers and incapable of climbing. Bison lack hardware to efficiently harvest any resources, but still prove invaluable to support this purpose due to their extremely high carry weight and ability to reduce the load of most materials. A tribe with several Bison can use them to ferry resources back to their base before other dinosaurs become overburdened while harvesting, aided by their movement speed. Attacks Bison have limited options for attacking, but the few attacks they are capable of are quite strong. Headbutt: Basic attack to do solid damage Back Kick: Much like the Equus, these kicks deal less damage but cause torpor to increase significantly Stampede: Read Below Herd Boost Like a Pack Boost, but slightly different. When a group of Bison of any combination of genders is together, they form a herd, gaining damage and resistance buffs. These buffs will be smaller than those for existing pack creatures, but can stack higher with more Bison (10+). When in a herd, wild Bison will form a Stampede when any is hurt. When tamed, they will do the same if set to Neutral, but a player riding a Bison can manually initiate a stampede. Stampeding Bison will smash through most creatures and some structures, dealing increased damage as they do so. As they run, they also will churn the ground, uncovering resources much like the earthquakes do on Aberration. Milk Female Bison produce a special milk that is adored by most baby creatures. When given to newborns, it provides food and slight imprint bonuses, making it much easier for Survivors to raise creatures. This milk can also be added to most recipes to make them more effective, increasing the duration of special effects granted by the food and drink.
  5. Embolotherium is a very large estimated to be about 8feet tall species in the clade Brontotheriidae and was the largest of its group Brontotheriidae is a family of extinct mammals belonging to the order Perissodactyla, the order that includes horses, rhinoceroses, and tapirs. Superficially, they looked rather like rhinos, although they were actually more closely related to horses; Equidae and Brontotheriidae make up the suborder Hippomorpha it lived in North American and was found in deposits of the Oligocene Epoch (36.6 to 23.7 million years ago). In the Wild embolotherium would be a absolute units standing nearly as tall as a mammoth with the bulk to back up its monsturus size I would have it probably spawn in groups of 2 to 3 as they would be quite tanky and will defend eachother and will be hard to bring down They are quite friendly for their size as they have not many predators but when threatened they will charge what ever did it with and flatten it with their sheer mass and bulk and will hunt them down Tameing To tame such a beast you will need a huge stockpile of rockets as their hide is insanely thick and would resist most projects infused with toxins. It is just like a rockgolem standard knockout tame as it is pretty much a bigger wooly rhino but with less fur and and one strange shaped hore instead of a long sharp horn but you must be careful as the higher it's torp is the more rage it will have which buffs its speed and attack When tamed When tamed embolotherium is a power house able to go head on vs most of the apex carnivorous of the arks but will bearly scrape by most of the fights and will lose about 50% of the time it has a good amount of.speed for its size hits hard and can take a lots of punishment. It can also start a charge and when at max charge it can damage structures up to metal as its bulk and mass are so great it can do nice damage to structures. Abilities When charging embolotherium does something different it charges up a stun like a shadowmane/or trike as it gets faster the longer you run the longer the stun will last up to a maximum so that it doesn't become to op it also would have a buck ability by kicking behind it as to knock back and dangers that have got past its main weapon it can also when charging damage thatch wood Stine and metal structures it does more damage the longer the charge goes. Embolotherium also can be topped up to boost its damage and speed at the cost of its torpor it also gets a pack buff if their is more than 2 near by thx to everyone that votes
  6. MACHAIRODUS Species: Machairodus Time: Late Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Similar to the Ark’s Smilodon brutalis, the Machairodus is a large species of saber-toothed cat that dwells in the mountainous biomes of Ragnarok. They are much larger in size, however, amounting closer to the mass of a Shadowmane instead. Machairodus also tend to hunt in packs of up to five. This powerful big cat possesses a pounce-and-tackle ability much like the Thylacoleo to survivors and even other small dinosaurs. It is pointless to attempt to overpower a pack with a larger, stronger dinosaur, however, as the larger a predator is, the more the Machairodus' primal spirit boosts their attack damage. Pack Alphas drop their teeth, a special ingredient used in their taming process. Tamed: In similar behavior to their wild counterparts, Machairodus are able to pounce onto unsuspecting survivors and small-medium dinosaurs. However, once tamed, the Alpha of the pack gains the ability to pounce onto larger dinosaurs and attach to them for as long as their stamina allows. During this time, the Alpha is able to inflict heavy bleed damage with a special "shredding attack" that deals immense amounts of damage. Additionally, as long as the Alpha is grappled, its packmates deal increased damage with a stacking bleed effect if being ridden. It's "primal spirit" feature is included in its tamed variant, making it a swell counter to the Ark's largest carnivores… especially the infamous giganotosaurus; arch enemy of this vicious, apex pack feline. The feature increases the amount of damage dealt to larger creatures and also offers a climbing damage reduction the higher the damage dealt to the machai is. It is heavily reliant on pack bonus, however. Taming: To tame these beasts of a feline, survivors must first gather Machairodus teeth from killing prides of them, only the Alpha of which drops its teeth. It is important to kill the whole pride, however, as remaining Machais will linger by their Alpha's body, making it difficult to dismount and retrieve the teeth from its inventory. Once a survivor has gathered enough teeth (provided they are high enough of a level), they will be able to craft a special weapon that is required for taming the large feline. A survivor must approach the pack on foot and allow themselves to get pounced by the pack's Alpha. They must have their crafted weapon equipped to their last slot for the tame to initiate, however. Once pounced, and provided the weapon is properly equipped, survivors will need to succeed through a series of dodges and counter attacks until the Alpha retreats into a state of "temporary respect." During this stage, the survivor must capture the Machairodus they wish to tame using a net projectile. After it is trapped, the rest of the pack will begin attacking and must all be killed. Only then will the trapped Machairodus fully gain the survivor's trust, though it will not yet be fully tamed. To build its taming effectiveness, survivors must offer a tamed sacrifice to be devoured by the Machairodus. The larger the creature and the higher its level will determine how high its effectiveness will turn out. Appearance: This tank of a cat boasts robust shoulders rippling with sheer muscle. Towards the rear they lean out, giving them less weight to support when latching onto larger creatures. Two scarily long canine fangs curve elegantly from their mouths, perfect for dealing damage and key to survivors for defending against them long enough to tame one. A short, spiky mane lines their back, ending at a short nub of a tail. Their rosetted pelts assist in blending in with their surroundings. Extra: I've created this concept primarily as a hardened giga counter. It's a much needed addition in my opinion, as even with the arrival of the carcha the giga has no true rival. Nothing matches its raw damage, and in typical PvP bases it's the most used dino for sheer power. In most battles between dinos it's just a matter of who's giga rages first or gets the most bites in. I think that the addition of the Machairodus would provide an even challenger for the giga, even if only in packs. In stereotype, the giganotosaurus is supposed to be the biggest and the baddest. So, a creature that only amounts to its power (but definitely amounts to it nonetheless) in packs, and with effects like an insane pack bonus and stacking bleed, seems like a reasonable counter to me. They would need a tanky amount of health to survive a giga long enough to kill it; something a lot of creatures lack. It would either not have a saddle period with such high health, or have an optional saddle for pure armor value to survive its rival's brute strength. It would be a late-game tame with a level limit on the weapon needed for its taming mechanic, meaning there would be limited speed-running to tame it. It's different and difficult method of taming altogether evens out for how strong of a creature it would be in general. The fact that it might not have a saddle or have an optional saddle unlocked at a later level would somewhat balance the amount of damage large packs would deal. I just really want to see people use something else for raw power in the game besides gigas, or to have something actually capable of killing them. Please consider the Machairodus, or offer ideas that you think might refine it!
  7. Species : Nasutoceratops tauricórniscurrus Time : Late Cretaceous Temperament : battleaxe Wild Nasutoceratops tauricórniscurrus is big size herviore which can stand against same size carnivore like rex, found in wide plain and redwood forest. This dinosaur have interesting a couple of horn and thick skin. These stigma make they can fight ark's many carnivores and extreme enviroment. Nasutoceratops makes pack and follow their alpha which is very experienced in pack, fight or defence against their enemy under alpha's order but that means they are scattered when alpha is neutralized. If you want to tame, don't miss that chance. Domesticated If you taming enough Nasutoceratops, they'll make pack and you can get your own army. Your strongest entity will be choosen alpha in their pack, it means under alpha, pack's members more strong and hard. When Nasutoceratops is stimulated, using deadly big horn to enchase enemys body that makes cant move and bleeding and holding out enemy's attack. Also they are good land transport, their strong muscles make possible to carry a lot of load. Taming Taming Nasutoceratops is similar Dinopithecus, except a few case Nasutoceratops always make pack. That means their experienced entity always have alpha buff and also pack buff these buffs makes alpha isnt fainted. If you want to tame you have to show their pack you are stronger than their alpha, if you decrease alpha's HP under 50%, pack's member will run away from alpha that means you can stun alpha and pack's member. Ability Left click : pierce horns to enemy Charge left click : pierce horns deeply to enemy's body, this attack make bleeding(like stego) and cant move. Right click : Nasutoceratops change stance and stand firm, in this stance Nasutoceratops not knock back and stuned, decrease damage 70%. Also Nasutoceratops charge gauge from enemy's attack, when gauge full charged, Nasutoceratops can launch very strong attack. C button : Alpha Nasutoceratops can howl, this howl make pack's members HP regenerative power increase and turning, moving speed. (normal Nasutoceratops can howl but cant give buff) Alpha buff : Increase melee 20%, decrease damage 40% Pack buff : Increase melee 15%, decrease damage 25% Basic ability : Decrease damage from Nasutoceratops head(same trike and pachy), decrease weight almost natural resource and structure. Thank you for read this submission, written by my poor english..
  8. Wild: Teratornis are carnivorous avians from the Pliocene. They are similar in size to the Ark’s argentavis, making them suitable to be ridden by survivors, if they’re up to the challenge. Teratornis travel in small, aggressive flocks, as they are predators that tend to overwhelm their prey in numbers rather than attack with brute strength. Their flocking behavior is similar to that of the deinonychus; their serrated, hooked beaks inflicting heavy, stacking bleed damage. However, without their flock bonus, a single teratornis is easy game for larger predators. They are able to outrun their close relative, the argentavis, but survivors have had luck escaping them on the back of pteranodons. Domesticated: Once a survivor has acquired a flock of teratornis to aid them, they are useful battle mounts in numbers; perfect for swarming larger predators, such as the rex and allosaurus. Additionally, when in flocks, teratornis are able to protect their riders from being dismounted by other creatures (stuns and, with a cooldown, picking) and even man-made traps. Flocks are even immune to the fear-inducing roar of the yutyrannus! Flocks of teratornis are good mounts to have around in the blazing heat of the Ark’s deserts, as their feathers are designed to keep them cool, and by extension, their riders, too! Taming: The Teratornis is a flock creature, and they are not easily separated from each other. Survivors will find that selecting a single one in a flock to tame is a pain, however some have found a way to win over the stubborn feathered beast. Survivors must approach the flock until they become aggressive, and lead them to a prey item killed by the survivor. As they will take most opportunities to prey on larger creatures, the carcass will distract the flock, giving the survivor time to sneak up on the Teratornis they wish to tame. They must feed it its desired food item, and grab onto its legs. The Terratornis will become startled, wildly flying about and attempting to shake the survivor off. They must manage to stay seated until a persistence bar fills, after which the survivor will be able to hoist themself up onto the Teratornis's back. The flock will quickly turn aggressive towards the survivor and their mounted Teratornis, and the pair must fight back, killing the rest of the flock to fill its taming bar.
  9. Locusts, The Swarming Insect Of Scorched Earth. The locusts are able to walk, jump, and fly in the air. The locusts will have a pack buff as they are usually in swarms. The abilities the locust would give is visibility during a sandstorm; weight reduction vor gathering cactus sap, poly, sand. During sandstorms they get an additional speed buff. Able to be ridden with and without a saddle. Saddle looks like a motorcycle seat that allows for extra passengers up to 2. Will be able to grapple objects that are smaller in size while it flies in the air. Tame-able similar to the equus, dinopithicus and andrewsarchus. Defeat the pack to tame the one you want and ride it with the food in the last slot of your hotbar. Size comparison is a bit bigger than the mantis.
