  1. The Kosmoceratops has countless abilities that involve paint. For example, when you feed the Kosmoceratops paint it will a new ability to the dinosaur for a certain amount of time: 1: Red paint will boost your tamed creatures around you by 10% Lasts two minuets 2: Yellow paint will provide tamed creatures with a 20% defense against wild creatures Lasts two minuets 3: Blue paint will provide tamed creatures with a 25% gathering efficiency Lasts five minutes 4: Green paint will provide your Kosmoceratops with a poisonous bite which allows you to knock out wild creatures Lasts five minuets 5: Purple paint will provide your Kosmoceratops with a 10% crafting skill bonus to creatures and players around you. Lasts two minuets Taming To tame your very own Kosmoceratops you would have to make a certain amount of lazarus chowder depending on the level of the creature you find. 1. you would have to feed the creature 1 lazarus chowder for levels 1-20 2: you would have to feed the creature 5 lazarus chowder for levels 21-50 3: you would have to feed the creature 10 lazarus chowder for levels 51-100 4: you would have to feed the creature 15 lazarus chowder for levels 100 and up Once you have fed the creature the correct amount of lazarus chowder you will have to complete a minigame in order to fully tame it. To complete the minigame you have to collect from the correct bush that matches what the Kosmoceratops is craving. The way you know what bush to collect from, you will have to look above all the bushes in the area and the bush berries icon will show up. Special Abilities The Kosmoceratops can use its tail as cannon. Furthermore, if you put crystals in its inventory, you must press the attack button, trigger, etc. Moreover, it will shoot out a crystal cannon ball that can destroy structures up to the metal tier. Also, this attack can knock out karkinos and rock elementals (Each crystal cannon ball requires 100 crystals and 10 cementing paste to make). Also, the horns of a tamed Kosmoceratops can be used as a type of musical instrument which can be used to boost your herbivores defense and damage by 5%. However, if you use a wild Kosmoceratops horn, it will make the wild creatures around you become hostile towards you. (Horns break off over time and grow back) Common Name: Kosmoceratops Species: Kosmoceratops Richardsoni Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial
  2. Name: Diprotodon ‭(‬Two forward teeth‭)‬. Phonetic: Di-proe-toe-don. Named By: Richard Owen‭ ‬-‭ ‬1838. Classification: Chordata,‭ ‬Mammalia,‭ ‬Marsupialia,‭ ‬Diprotodontia,‭ ‬Vombatiformes,‭ ‬Diprotodontidae. Species: D.‭ ‬optatum‭ (‬type‭). Diet: Herbivore. Size: Up to‭ ‬3‭ ‬meters long,‭ 1.8‭ ‬meters tall at the shoulder.‭ ‬Possibly slightly bigger. Known locations: Australia. Time period: Calabrian to mid/late Tarantian of the Pleistocene. Fossil representation: Remains of hundreds of individuals making this one of the best known megafauna animals from Australia.‭ ‬Footprints and hair impressions are also known. Description: Diprotodon this majestic creature boasts a one-of-a-kind ability that sets it apart from all other dinosaurs in the ARK world - it harnesses the power of nature itself. Abilities: • Floral Manipulation: The Diprotodon has the extraordinary ability to manipulate plant life. It can summon thick vegetation, dense jungles, and vibrant flowers to create temporary barriers or ambush prey. Additionally, it can speed up plant growth, using them as camouflage or even as a source of nourishment. • Healing Aura: When the Diprotodon roars, it emits a healing aura that rejuvenates nearby creatures, both herbivores and carnivores alike. This ability proves to be invaluable during intense battles or when tending to wounded members of your tribe. • Pollen Dispersal: The Diprotodon releases clouds of mesmerizing pollen that can have various effects on other creatures. Some may become calmer and easier to tame, while others may experience temporary confusion, making them easier to avoid or manipulate. • Natural Harmony: Being in the presence of an Diprotodon encourages harmonious behavior in other nearby dinosaurs. It reduces aggressive tendencies, making conflicts less likely to occur. Location: This creature roams in the most secluded and untouched corners of the ARK world. To find the Diprotodon, players must venture deep into hidden forests or venture into secret caves hidden beneath the surface. Taming: Taming an Diprotodon is a complex and challenging process. It requires players to learn the secrets of the natural world, discover hidden rituals, and prove themselves as guardians of nature. Once tamed, the Diprotodon becomes a loyal and powerful companion, providing unparalleled support to the tribe. The Diprotodon would be a wonderful addition to the ARK video game world, offering players a unique and magical experience in their dinosaur adventures
  3. The Apatosaurus, the new and not useless diplodocus. This large sauropod would live in the green and lush parts of the forest. These creatures aren’t necessarily gentle giants, if a human gets within punching distance they will attack, but will pay to mind to other creatures. When it comes to taming things get tricky, you will have to literally jump onto it’s back (like find a high place, jump off and land on its back) then you will feed it narcoberrys narcotics, or biotoxin till it is asleep. After that it’s just a standard unconscious tame. After taming it you will need to make a saddle, of which you have 3 to choose from; the Standard saddle, the platform saddle or the war platform saddle. The war platform saddle is armored, making it take less damage from all turrets. On the subject of turrets you can add a turret in into the saddle by dragging it in your inventory, at that point your saddle will have a built in turret. Aside from being a war machine on legs the Apatosaurus has some remarkable abilities. It practically never gets tired so that makes it a good Dino to move large amounts of weight around the map, aiding this is its ability to raise its head high in the air while walking through water, making rivers and lakes a piece of cake to cross. As for attacks it can stand up on its hind legs to crush the spine of any unfortunate enemy. It can also stomp with each of its legs so you will be covered from all angles. Its tail whip is also nothing to be scoffed at, it’s high speeds can knock riders of their mounts, and deal knock back and torpor. They can also sweep up dust with their tail, and when it enters the dust cloud it gains a massive speed boost to run away, similar to the tuoso. This is my idea for the The Center's new creature, thanks for reading. At the time of writing this no one has submitted the same creature Image was found on the internet No I don't know why the text is highlighted in white
  4. HERE IM PRESENTING THE ARSINOITHERIUM THE MAMMAL OF THE SWAMP Arsinoitherium is a mammal related to elephants that looks like an elephant but lives like a hippopotamus and for all these reasons it seemed like a very good dino for the center but before saying things in more depth I am going to put the dossier for you to see. read more clearly Wild It is a relative of elephants, it looks like a rhino and lives like a hippo, Arsinoitherium zitteli is a mammal that is adapted to live in mangroves and in rivers of the center, its wide but agile physiognomy makes it an extremely dangerous creature in these swamps Although it looks like a docile animal, the arsinoitherium will attack everything it finds in its territory, being the greatest fear of the swamp, a characteristic that makes it unique are its long and curved horns which it uses to uproot the trees looking for its juicy roots, in addition to serving as a shovel, The horns serve as a defense, with them it can charge against threats and do brutal damage to the dinos have bothered it,arsinoitherium is known for having no patience Tamed The arsinoitherium is domesticated by giving it fruits, but even if contradictory, you have to stand in front of it to feed it,because, due to its large horns it cannot see in front of it and that is its only blind spot Once you tame the arsinoitherium, it can be taught to use the logs that it tears off to launch them like a catapult, you would also have a fairly agile mount in water and on land too, making it the best mount for the hostilities that wait you in the center. This is the complete dossier of the dino but now i will Deeping in the abilities of the Arsinoitherium ABILITIES 1) One of his abilities will be that he will tear the trees from the ground and throw them against the enemies and this ability is more well designed to throw them against bases since it would do great damage to the structures 2)It will have a type of charges similar to that of the rhino but what it would do is stick its horns into the ground and run making a ball of mud to finally throw it against the bases 3)His third ability would be a goring that hits hard 4)And his fourth ability would be to be a dino both terrestrial and aquatic. He will have very good swimming and would be a good mount for the map I hope you like the idea I had and if you see any problem in the writing let me know and vote for the unicorn with 2 horns
  5. Species: Shantungasaurus Giganteus Time: Late Cretaceous Temperate: Aggressive Diet: Herbivore This large hadrosaur has been posted in many other votes as a enormous fighting machine of which i haven't completely changed but have adapted to the center and for a more fitting dino for ark survival ascended. Although this beast is heavy and larger than a rex in almost every way and there for making it atleast on par with the mighty tyrant king. My plan for this creature may not quite be completely realistic but why should it be? it's Ark! The Shant is the largest hadrosaur -or what we know- and was rather aggressive so it'd attack you on sight (similar agro range to a diplo). It only attacks carnivores smaller than it . The hadrosaur attacks by charging on it back legs to stomp or just running after you -the later being more common- . The aggressive hadrosaur would only fight a rex or allo (even with players on) when they attack first due to it not being hyper aggressive as it wouldn't be any sort realistic or related to the somewhat tempered behavior. STATS LVL 1 HP: 1600 STAM: 500 WIEGHT: 1500 FOOD: 3000 OXYGEN: 300 SPEED: 100 (on part with an allo) water speed= (on part with a baryonyx) DAMAGE: BITE (LEFT CLICK) : 35 TAIL HIT (RIGHT CLICK) :40 STOMP (CTRL TO GO ON HIND LEGS AND RIGHT C TO STOMP) : 90 TAMING This beast is not a normal knockout tame as you need to place a wall and make it charge at you , once it is near the wall make a tight turn and it'll skid into the wall making it dizzy and dealing torpor. If it does the stomp attack it can break your walls so you'll have to shoot it's legs making it fall into quadrupedal stance. Once KO'ed you can feed it berries , veg or kibble which it prefers exceptional kibble. ABILITIES The Shant is a very large creature so you can upgrade it's saddle by adding a attachment which places a box onto it's back which can be upgraded from thatch to wood or stone or metal. Upon this is the way it travels around as you can attach any large turret or ballista/catapult and the ballista can shoot the new carbon fiber grappling hook which can help it climb up steep surfaces. Although I'm a terrible drawer and can barely draw a stickman arm I have found some images which could help present what I'm saying (none are mine) Standing up stance and quadrupedal This is what a ballista on it would look like ADDED NOTES Saddle alone=5 armor 1x Thatch hut on top=15 armor 3x wood hut on top=20 armor 4x Stone hut on top=25 armor 5x Metal hut on top=30 armor 6x in drop you can find saddles which go up to 1/7 of max armor but when you upgrade it is multiplied by either 1 , 3 , 4 , 5 or 6x dependent on the saddle material In conclusion I believe this would be a great addition for the center and it'd be another option for the boss fight and it'd be another somewhat possible "meta" creature so people would actually go one the center for this hyper herbivore. Hope you liked my suggestion Tru
  6. Deincheirus is a dino with a very particular appearance that will roam the great lakes of the center. Deinocheirus is considered by the survivors to be contrary to the rex and spino, since unlike these two, it has neutral behavior and is even protective of herbivorous animals. Wild Although Deinocheirus is referred to as the opposite of the rex, ironically it becomes very aggressive if its personal space is invaded or if you attack one of the herbivores of its "herd" from a small dodo to an imposing bronto. Domesticated. Tamed deincheirus is a great battle mounr that can easily be placed between the rex and spinosaurus, with the difference that the latter prefers berries to te meat. Tamed Deinocheirus will assume the role of guardian of the herbivores of youe tribe. In addition to the fact that their droppings are a source of nutrients for vegetables, their favorite food Tame. Step 1: to tame deinocheirus you will need to get him away from his flock (you choose the way to get him away, but beware that if Deinocheirus gets tired of you, he will return to where his flock is, so its preferable to kills his entire flock to avoids problems). Step 2: After getting rid of his herd, Deinocheirus will go into rage and receive a 50% damage resistence buff. In those moments, you will have to lower his health to less than 70%. After that, Deincheirus will fall exhausted on the floor. Step 3: After Deinocheirus falls exhausted to the ground, you will mount and feed him to heal him and begin his true taming. Step 4: Deinocheirus should hunt an kill large carnovores such as; tyranosaurus, spinosaurus, allosaurus, yutyranus, mosasaur(not recommended). If you achieve the great feat of killing a giganotosaurus or a carcharadotosaurus, Deinocheirus will be instantly tamed. Skills. Cattle guar: If deincheirus is a accompanied by more than one herbivore, it will receive a 20% attack buff and companions a 50% damage reduction buff. Grab: Deinocheirus with key C can pick up small and medium animals. Sorry for the bad english is not my mother tongue.
  7. The Hadrosaur family is a very underrated family with many knowing only of the Parasaur or iguanadon, so ive wanted to bring my own hadrosaur into the new submissions. I, like many others, have struggled to portray ideas due to lack of artistic skill that many other submissions have, and because of this many great ideas are not noticed at first, so don’t always just look at the main post, hidden gems could be hidden right below and should be considered more by the community. I love the rocky look of the titanosaur and would also like to see it on this massive beast as well, I would also like a more significant beak, the look that the Isle gave it is absolutely amazing, really hope that wildcard don’t disappoint. I am fully not expecting any of these ideas to go into the game. Good luck to all the other submissions, dinos and ideas! Shantungosaurus: The Shantungosaurus was a large hadrosaur from the late cretaceous period, it weighed around 16 metric tons reaching heights of 6 meters and reaching lengths of 16.6 meters, dwarfing most therapods like the T-rex, and even some sauropods, their size isn’t one to be taken lightly. Most creatures of its time would not dare touch the shant as they stood no chance to it immense size and weight, they were also very fast for their size. In the wild: The Shant can be seen towering over the large Jungles of the centre, surrounded by luscious greenery and animals. Its immense size wards off most predators creating a somewhat safe haven for the more docile creatures around, in return they protect the Shant in the case of any threats. When it sees a carnivore around which could endanger its followers, the Shant receives a rivalry buff similar to the trike. When provoked, the followers will all begin to attack to protect the Shant, this also includes flyers that can get you from the air. Taming: To tame, you must first kill all of the surrounding dinos, giving clear access to the Shant itself however most projectiles will not affect the giant beast, in this case the ballista turret works best, in it a tranq spear bolt. Once the Shant begins taking damage, it will attack back, standing on its hind legs delivering super damaging stomps, during which, docile creates who wander into the battle will join the Shant and attack. Its always best to trap the Shant before taming as once it gets high on torpor it will run away , making it harder to shoot with the ballista, once knocked out it will not need food to tame, just equip a saddle, similar to the titanosaur. Domesticated: The Shant is an enormous beast rivalling the size of even the giga! With its immense size it harbors a great amount of health and weight also having a 15% overall damage reduction and 40% against projectiles. Its massive tail is used to throw enemies, how far they are thrown is dependant on their drag weight where the less drag weight they have the further they are thrown. The Shant has a roar that buffs all tamed dinos attack and defence slightly with a big bonus to herbivores. The Shant has 2 modes or stances, similar to the TLC spino, with different attacks, Quadruped stance and Biped stance. The quadruped stance is its default stance withal 4 legs on the ground and gains the ability to charge. The Biped stance reduces the speed of the dino but increases damage output and attack efficiency i.e., tail swipe throws further , it also gains the Heavy Stomp ability. Attacks Change stance= Z Quadruped stance: 1) Left click = Headbutt: a standard attack that does decent damage and slight knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate stomp and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing call that gives all nearby tamed dinos a defence buff with a bonus to herbivores 5) X = stomp: a slightly heavier hitting attack that has no knockback. Collects wood and berries in a radius around the dino. Bipedal stance: (+ damage, - speed) 1) Left click = Claw swipe: a standard attack that does good damage with no knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) C = roar: a loud bellowing call that gives all nearby tamed dinos a defence buff with a bonus to herbivores 4) X = Heavy stomp: an extremely powerful attack that breaks opponents’ bones and stuns for a short period of time, it sets the dino back to quadruped stance and has a large cooldown,
  8. Concept Sauropods in Ark are lacking to say the least and don’t quite live up to their real life counterparts. I am also a firm believer that the game is in desperate need of more powerful herbivores and while I appreciate smaller taxa getting the representation they deserve I believe the game is in dire need of a late game, powerful dino that exemplifies what sauropods are supposed to represent. So I propose Sauroposeidon Wild: With its size, strength and dominion over the ocean, Sauroposeidon lives up to the mythology. While still dwarfed in mass by the titanosaur it exceeds it in height, making it the tallest creature I’ve encountered. A creature this large wouldn’t be expected to thrive in an island ecosystem but Sauroposiden has a plethora of adaptations that make it well at home in the center. Hollow bones and air sacks throughout the body make it a surprisingly proficient swimmer allowing them to travel between islands in search of food to maintain their bulk although this buoyancy makes it difficult for them to dive. Their height makes them immune to most predators with even the mighty megalodon giving it a wide berth as they moves between foraging patches. This relative safety only applies to mature specimens as juveniles are constantly accosted by predators looking for an easy meal with very few reaching adulthood. While largely oblivious to smaller creatures, including humans they have little tolerance for animal life over a certain size entering their vicinity and will meet perceived intruders with extreme prejudice. This hostility extends to their own kind with even juvenile Sauroposeidon being met with hostility. To avoid costly violence, they constantly let out booming calls that travel for miles to communicate their mood, health and position. Tamed: Having no interest in humans and being too large to be tranquilized, mature individuals are impossible to tame with conventional methods but the juveniles are much more receptive to training. In the wild they grow at an accelerated rate, with the constant stress from predation triggering the release of hormones that speed up their metabolism. This allows them to reach maturity quickly but requires a monumental amount of food. Some survivors have found that guiding them to foraging patches while acting as body guard during such a vulnerable time earns their trust. However until that trust is earned they never stay in one spot and become stressed when confined. Ones that are born into the safety of captivity are much more trusting and have a more tempered rate of growth. When tamed they need a massive amount of food but they are a valued addition to any army that can afford to keep them fed. Survivors have trained them to use their complex air chambers for a variety of purposes. Extended exposure to their lower resonating calls can cause dizziness and paranoia, breaking the ranks of enemy units. They can also be trained to focus their infrasonic calls into powerful blasts that can either send smaller adversaries flying and ground volant mounts or be shot off as devastating sonic cannons. Being big enough to support a platform saddle they can function as a living battleship. Attacks rapid sonic attack: low damage, high range, high knockback, grounds fliers Sonic cannon: high damage mid range AOE sonic attack: staying inside aoe circle causes confusion (inverts controller of ridden tames and players, randomly sets unridden tames to passive flee or aggressive) Front stomp Back stomp Passive Abilities Trample Damage Buff around big dinos( i.e. rex, giga, bronto, paracer, titans, bosses, etc) Increased movement speed, and stam Repels megalodons, mantas and eels Immune to cnidaria Debuffing roar: increases damage taken by enemies, remove buffs from other roars
  9. **NEW & UPDATED ABILITIES! BIG THANKS TO LUUX FOR SUGGESTIONS!** "Good day, Survivors! Today I present to you my submission for the Aberration creature vote, Chasmosaurus luxoscutum!" GENERAL INFORMATION: The real world Chasmosaurus is a medium-sized ceratopsian that lived during the Campanian stage of the Late Cretaceous period in what is now Alberta, Canada. For more info on the real world Chasmosaurus, here's the Wikipedia article so you can read up on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chasmosaurus DOSSIER TRANSCRIPT: Common name: Chasmosaurus Species: Chasmosaurus luxoscutum Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Short-tempered “WILD” “The fauna on this ARK never ceases to amaze me. An example of this can be seen with Chasmosaurus luxoscutum. While not as large or powerful as its cousin Triceratops or even Pachyrhinosaurus, the Chasmosaurus has one trick up its sleeve to set it apart from the rest.” “Since Chasmosaurus has relatively short horns, they aren’t very good at warding off larger predators. To counteract this, they have developed photophores in their frills that they can use to create a large flash of charge light to blind and stun any potential threats. However, this comes at a cost, for it takes a lot of energy to produce such a large quantity of charge light and will leave the Chasmosaurus fairly tired, with barely enough stamina to allow for a quick getaway.” “DOMESTICATED” “Usually residing in the bioluminescent forest, the Chasmosaurus is a very good, well rounded companion to have. They are big enough to ride, can carry around a fair amount, and seem to be immune to the effects of radiation sickness in the lower levels of the caverns. This, as well as their charge light ability has led to several unhinged lunatics to bring these fellas down to the territory of the Reapers in fruitless efforts to tame one. I strongly advise AGAINST this due to the Chasmo’s lack of physical strength.” To quickly summarize, Chasmosaurus luxoscutum essentially serves as a walking charge lantern, being able to release a large burst of charge light to stun enemies in place. It resides in the bioluminescent forests where it feasts on its favorite food, Plant Species Z fruit. Once tamed, the Chasmosaurus proves to be a pretty good companion. It can be ridden, carry a good amount of resources, and is fairly fast as well. If you really play your cards right, it can possibly even be quite useful in the taming process of Reapers. Personally, I wouldn't recommend doing so due to Chasmosaurus's low damage and defensive abilities. Speaking of abilities… OFFENSIVE ABILITIES: Primary Fire: Melee attack - A standard melee attack, alternates between headbutt and back kick if camera is facing backwards; does moderate damage and minor knockback. (NEW) Crouch Button: Light Toggle - Chasmo has two different light themed abilities that it can swap between, Flashbang and Intimidation Display; These abilities do not do physical damage. Alt Fire 1: Flashbang - Releases a large flash of charge light (much like a Plant Species Z fruit or Charge Lantern) to blind and leave enemies in a daze, unable to move for ~10 seconds; long cooldown after use; uses ~60% stamina when used; temporarily gives Nameless and Reapers the "Charged" debuff during the stun duration. Alt Fire 2: Intimidation Display - The Chasmo roars and pulses a hypnotic pattern on it's frill and body to intimidate larger predators such as Spinosaurus and Rock Drakes; decreases aggro radius for aggressive creatures; gives enemies minor damage reduction and defense down for ~20 seconds when within a certain radius of the Chasmo. Jump Button: Precise movement - Hold down to allow for precise rotation to aim the flashbang ability. PASSIVE ABILITIES: (NEW) Battery Charger - Saddle has "charging ports" on it to passively charge batteries while on the move, able to charge 6 at a time Head Shield - 30% damage reduction on headshots. Stamina Tracker - The glowing spots on the side of the Chasmo’s body indicate how much stamina it has left. Adrenaline Rush - Gains a minor speed boost for a few seconds after successfully stunning a threat with the Flashbang. Radiation Immunity - Does not take damage when in the radioactive Element Caverns area. Energy Refuel - Plant Species Z fruits can be used similar to that of a sweet veggie cake where force feeding the Chasmo one will replenish its stamina quicker; cooldown after use. (NEW) Charge Light Synergy - When in the presence of a source of charge light, the Chasmo receives a slight boost to its damage and overall defense ^^^ Beautiful art here done by Lapis Lazuli on Discord. Go show them some love! ^^^ TAMING (NEW TAMING METHOD!): This idea was suggested by Zipperslipper457 (Big thanks!) This new proposed taming method would require you to have a metal shield specifically. When approaching the Chasmosaurus, it will enter a defensive state and begin to flash its intimidation display, during which it will look at you and prepare to flashbang you. Right before it flashes you, bring up your shield to reflect the flash back at the Chasmo. Doing this will stun the Chasmosaurus instead. When it this stunned state, walk up to it and feed it the Plant Species Z fruit/seed. Rinse and repeat until fully tamed. And there you have it! If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read this! It really means a lot. If you liked my silly little ceratopsian, feel free to give it a vote! Good day, survivors!
  10. The early game of Aberration is extremely hazardous so a semi large and quick ceratopsian is the perfect mount to get your bearings and explore the ruined ARK. Proposed Abilities: 1. Intimidator: It has eye spots on its frill that it can use to intimate small predators such as raptors and ravagers by shaking it's head aggressively. 2. Defensive mount: It has a "hunker mode" where styracosaurus crouches down and moves more slowly but your protected from being grabbed or dismounted by the frill covering the player. You have the added bonus of being shielded from plant species z seeds 3. Mobile cooking pot: The saddle acts as a cooking pot so you can craft mushroom brew on the go with the added bonus of the Styracosaurus lowering the weight of aberrations various mushrooms Other attributes: I'd image the Styraco would be more lightly built than the triceratops and can comfortably trot unlike the plodding speed of it's cousin. I'd be open to the idea of Styraco also getting the trikes rivalry buff. Taming: A rather simple task Styracosaurus is often aggressive towards humans but can be calmed by the smell of mushrooms due to it's low browsing nature. Once the ceratopsian smells mushrooms it will drop its guard and will subtlety gesture if it wants to be feed, be careful not to misread the signal or risk angering the creature. Overall I feel that ARK is really lacking in both hadrosaurs and ceratopsians and not only would adding styracosaurus to the game properly rather than a skin to the trike help amend that it would just be great to have an early game mount to keep the raptors and ravagers off you.
  11. Hello survivors! For the Aberration creature vote I’d like to introduce to you the PVP/PVE jack of all trades Cretophasmomima! (Pictures at the bottom) With how outlandish a lot of aberration creatures are, I’ve decided to submit a creature that’d be as equally weird. Yes, we just got the Rhyniognatha for the Island, but I feel like if there was any creature that’d fit Aberrations aesthetic it’d be a giant stick bug. Like the Rhyniognatha, the real-life Cretophasmomima was not very big. Yet seeing that this is ARK many creative liberties can be taken with its creatures, which is why I imagine that this bug would be way bigger than it was in reality. Serving as a mid to late game tame, this creature would function like a hybrid between a Stego/Theri in terms of usefulness, but it’d also have some additional abilities to make it stick out from the rest of the Aberration creatures. Being an herbivore, the Cretophasmomima would be useful as a gatherer like the Stego and Igua. This doesn’t mean it’d be a pushover because like the Theri this creature would be able to hold its own in a fight just as well. Below is a list of suggestions that I think would fit this creature (this isn’t to say that this creature would be capable of doing ALL of these abilities, these ideas are just ones I think would work well with this creature). Some of the possible ideas/abilities behind this creature include: · Able to harvest a variety of resources such as berries, fungal wood, element ore, Aberrant exclusive plants, rare flowers/mushrooms, biotoxin, nameless venom, reaper pheromones, etc. (can harvest a wide range, but some creatures can harvest a specific resource better than it can) · Invisibility and wall climbing like the Rock Drake · Immunity/Resistance to certain status effects like torpor, Cnidaria shocks, and the Basilisk poison breath. ·Immunity to radiation (its saddle would also protect the rider from radiation without the need of a hazmat suit) ·Acidic projectiles that bypass armor, damage structures, and slow enemy targets ·An AOE gas cloud that effects enemies based on what kinds of mushrooms you feed it ·Venomous spikes that apply torpor to small enemies (does not work on creatures larger than a Ravager) ·Pick up and move structures like the Exo-Mek/Rhyniognatha ·Can be passively harvested for some exclusive items Dossier Info: Common Name: Cretophasmomima Species: Cretophasmomima Invisibilis Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Defensive Wild: A creature that’s as bizarre as its name, the Cretophasmomima or giant stick insect is a reclusive herbivore that makes its home in some of the most hostile areas of Aberration. Scaling the sides of cliffs, the Cretophasmomima prefers to forage for food way up high and out of reach of most predators. Due to its shy nature, most survivors may not even encounter one, and when they do, they might have already walked right past one without even realizing it! True to its name, this big bug is surprisingly good at camouflaging itself from danger. If you do manage to somehow provoke one, it’ll be more than happy to respond with violence. Feeding on mostly toxic mushrooms and fungus, the Cretophasmomima can expel a noxious gas from its body that contains trace elements from its diet onto those unfortunate enough to provoke it. If that wasn’t enough, if truly riled up it may even retaliate with acidic globs launched from its mandibles. Domesticated: If one were somehow able to find one of these, or even tame it for that matter, they may find themselves with a creature that can go almost anywhere. Being adapted to the harsh environments of Aberration this bug does not seem to be affected by radiation, making it a great choice for traversing some of this ARKs more dangerous areas. If attacked, there’s little to fear thanks to the Cretophasmomima’s highly advanced chemical warfare. The wax and spikes produced by its body can be harvested for multiple uses, and the range of materials it can harvest are nigh unmatched. With a creature like this one, a survivor would be lucky to have a tame as reliable as this. Taming Process: ·A passive tame, the Cretophasmomima can be found scaling the cliffs and ceilings of the Fertile (rarely), Bioluminescent, and Molten Element regions. They can be a bit tricky to find, however, because on occasion they might have their active camouflage on so make sure to look out for any unusual movements. When you do manage to find one, you will have to access its inventory and feed its preferred food like most other passive tames. However, there is a catch. Depending on where you find one, that Cretophasmomima will want a specific kind of mushroom found in that region. So, if you find one in the Bioluminescent region it’ll want cold mushrooms (you’ll still be able to tame it with other kinds of mushrooms, but its preferred kind will have the most taming effectiveness). Outside of mushrooms, it can also be fed plant species z seeds (this will take longer than feeding it any kind of mushroom however, so this is only preferred if you don’t have any mushrooms on you). Generally, the harsher and more dangerous the environment is, the more likely you’ll be able to find higher level Cretophasmomima. Cretophasmomima Saddle: · A saddle that can be crafted at a mid-level, this saddle would have the ability to protect the rider from radiation and from being dismounted by other creatures. By itself the Cretophasmomima would have a natural weight reduction of 50% on resources, but with the addition of its saddle this would be increased to 90%. Its saddle could also possibly serve as an Aberrant version of the Argys smithy saddle letting you to use it on the go during your travels. Attacks/Abilities: · Claw/Tail Attack (Left Click): A standard claw swipe that deals moderate damage and applies short knockback to small creatures. This attack can be aimed with a multidirectional crosshair depending on where you’re facing. If aimed behind, the Cretophasmomima will slam its coiled tail into the ground that deals around the same damage as its claw swipe. Useful for harvesting resources as well. As a bonus, the claw attack can be used to move structures (even when climbing a wall or upside down). The claw attack cannot pick up creatures. · Acidic Projectile (Right Click): The Cretophasmomima will launch two sticky globs of caustic acid from its face at opponents. This attack works like the Arthropleura’s and ignores armor (in addition to slowing enemies). This attack can be aimed with a crosshair by holding down right click, but it will not auto target enemy creatures like the Rhyniognatha’s resin shot. Deals low damage but can be applied for a small duration of time. Uses a small amount of stamina with every shot and has a short cooldown. ·Gas Cloud (Space): The dangerous mushrooms that produce poisonous spores can now be harvested to feed your Ceratophasmomima. Depending on what kinds you feed your Cretophasmomima it can apply their status effects to enemies via an AOE gas cloud around its body. Once fed, a small bar will appear at the bottom of the screen that you’ll have to fill up (once you feed it a certain mushroom, this bar can only be filled with that specific kind). When full you cannot feed the Cretophasmomima any more mushrooms until you deplete this bar. There will be a long cooldown on this attack for every time you use it. The status effects that can be applied to other survivors and creatures are as follows: -Standard: If not fed mushrooms, the Cretophasmomima can still release a gas cloud from its body that can drain stamina and blind enemy survivors/creatures for a short period of time. Be careful though because this attack will drain a large amount of its own stamina with every use. -Red Mushroom: If fed poisonous red mushrooms until its bar is full, the Cretophasmomima will release a gas cloud from its body that will distort the vision, cause extreme defecation, and suffocate enemy survivors/creatures for a short period of time. -Cold Mushroom: If fed poisonous blue mushrooms until its bar is full, the Cretophasmomima will release a gas cloud from its body that will inflict hypothermia with rapid health loss onto enemy survivors/creatures for a short period of time (regardless of whether they have hypothermia protection). - Element Mushroom: If fed poisonous element mushrooms until its bar is full, the Cretophasmomima will release a gas cloud from its body that will force extreme defecation and rapid hunger loss onto enemy survivors/creatures for a short period of time (can work on knocked out creatures too to speed up the taming process). ·Invisibility Cloak (X): Can be toggled on and off by pressing X. The Cretophasmomima cloaks itself and its rider like a Rock Drake. Hostile creatures will ignore you as long as you’re cloaked. However, creatures that have already aggroed onto you will not be affected by this ability. ·Venomous Spines: A passive ability, the spines that cover the Cretophasmomima’s body have the power to apply small amounts of torpor to creatures attacking it. This ability does not work on creatures larger than a Ravager who’ll just outright ignore it. This ability also does not work on creatures that have ranged attacks or survivors who have weapons besides their fists. Purposes in PVE: · Harvester: Like most herbivores, the Cretophasmomima would have the ability to harvest resources like fiber, thatch, fungal wood, berries etc. It could also possibly be able to mine other resources like ores or gems. However, being a jack of all trades, it’s mostly good at harvesting many KINDS of resources, but not so much in large amounts like a few other creatures. Even if it can’t harvest some resources in the same quantities as other creatures can, it can also harvest resources like rare flowers, rare mushrooms, and Aberration exclusive plants (like aggeravic mushrooms, ascerbic mushrooms, aquatic mushrooms, etc.). Due to its affinity with poisons and status effects, it may be useful in harvesting copious amounts of resources like bio toxin and nameless venom too. With its high weight reduction, the Cretophasmomima would be the best for harvesting resources on the fly during your travels through Aberration. · All Terrain Creature: Able to climb anything with no stamina cost and immune to radiation, there’s almost nowhere you won’t be able to go with a Cretophasmomima. While it can’t travel as fast as say a Rock Drake, its ability to climb walls and harvest a variety of resources make it a good choice for those hard-to-reach areas of the map. Being a bad swimmer, this creature would instead be able to walk on the bottom of lakes and rivers akin to the Karkinos, allowing you to harvest underwater resources at your leisure (just remember to keep track of your oxygen, because unlike the Karkinos this creature can still drown if you’re not careful). · Base Helper: Being able to pick up structures (but not creatures) the Cretophasmomima would be of great use around your base. Its claw attack in tandem with its climbing abilities means you can place structures wherever you please. The Cretophasmomima can even carry structures while upside down. With Aberrations difficult and hazardous layout, placing structures would be made a whole lot easier with the help of your Cretophasmomima. ·Taming Aid: With its ability to apply special status effects and its special camouflage, this creature would be the perfect choice for taming creatures. Its element gas attack can be used to rapidly increase the hunger of knocked out creatures, letting you constantly refill their inventories with food. The torpor inducing spines can be used to knock out smaller tames like Ravagers and Raptors. Its camo ability is also useful for stealing Rock Drake eggs (for taming Rock Drakes/Basilisks) or the ores dug up by Rollrats without being detected by them. · Exclusive Items: Tamed Cretophasmomima can be passively harvested for some exclusive items, which are as follows: -Cretophasmomima Spines: A resource passively produced by a tamed Cretophasmomima that can be harvested for a variety of uses. Collected spines can be grinded down into narcotics or used for crafting tranq arrows needed to tame other creatures. Has a short cooldown before it can be harvested again. -Cretophasmomima Wax: A resource passively produced by a tamed Cretophasmomima that can be harvested for a variety of uses. Serves as a more efficient combination of organic polymer/cementing paste that can be used in identical ways. It may also be used in place of wood as fuel for fires, torches, fireplaces, and forges to greater effect than most other resources (lasts for a longer period of time). Has a long cooldown before it can be harvested again. Purposes in PVP: · Status Immunity: With its exceptionally high immunity to torpor, poison, and other status effects the Cretophasmomima has little to fear. Its rider is also protected by its saddle and cannot be harmed by all status effects. They are also immune to the status effects applied by other Cretophasmomima (except for their acid shot), as are their riders (riders are still completely immune). Note though that the Cretophasmomima itself is not immune to all status effects, like being set aflame or being hit with Reaper/Basilisk projectiles (it will take reduced damage from these attacks however). · Ranged Fighter: Able to climb any surface, the Cretophasmomima can attack from afar with its acidic projectile, allowing it to splash enemy structures and creatures in a corrosive acid that bypasses armor. Its damage is low, but it can be stacked if you keep track of your stamina. Be careful though as enemy Cretophasmomima can do the same thing to you too. · High Health/Defense: While not as combat oriented as the Reaper, Megalo, or Rock Drake in a straightforward fight, this creature would compensate with an extremely high health pool and strong defenses. It’d be able to shrug off most attacks by smaller creatures with relative ease, and its status effects would be ideal for disorienting/confusing enemy riders to allow your other tames to gain the advantage. · Raids & Boss Battles: A creature that’s great for use in raids, its status applying abilities and ranged attacks make this creature a good alternative to the more physical brawlers like Reapers and Rock Drakes. If forced into close ranged combat this creature is not completely defenseless, as its high health and decent damage makes it more than capable of holding its own long enough for you to get away or for backup to arrive. It also can be used in the Rockwell battle too; its status effects can be applied to Rockwell’s minions and its acid shot can be used to damage Rockwell’s tentacles (or his heart) from a safe distance. Being an herbivore like the Theri, its inventory can be packed with veggie cakes to keep them going for the rest of the fight. Weaknesses: · Master of None: Being a jack of all trades, this creature can do a lot of things. However, this does not mean it would render every other creature worthless. Despite its long list of abilities, it is not intended to be an overpowered death machine. It has high health and good attack, but creatures like the Reaper, Rock Drake, and Megalo can fit this role just as well if you want them too. It can harvest an absurd number of resources to great efficiency, but creatures like the Stego and Anky will generally harvest more resources of the same category. It can climb walls and crawl fast thanks to its high weight reduction, but a Rock Drake will always cross the map faster than a Cretophasmomima will. Its AOE is large but has a long cooldown and it can’t apply any status effects unless you fill the bar first. This doesn’t mean the Cretophasmomima would be useless itself either, as the point is that it is able to all the fill all roles that other creatures can’t. It can fight, harvest, help tame creatures, and move structures, it may not be exceptional at one thing but it’s great at filling all the roles you’ll need it for. Bonus Pictures (for reference of what it’s design might look like if implemented):
  12. pacifastacus nigrescens is an extinct crayfish that's the size of microraptor it can be passively tamed with plant species Z seeds or aquatic mushrooms the pacifastacus nigrescens can create a charge light with it's claws (or pincers whatever works I guess) kind of like how the bulbdog does with it's antenna thing on its head , so I've nicknamed the pacifastacus nigrescens , "brightclaw'' is that ok can i give pacifastacus nigrescens a nickname pacifastacus nigrescens live in large lakes like the one at the fallen nexus , or the ones at the luminous marshlands and the crystalline swamps when you kill pacifastacus nigrescens , you can harvest crustacean meat from it , crustacean meat is kind of at the level of lamb if that makes sense to everyone else
  13. Edit: To address the comments discussing why this is not the best fit for Aberration, I do not disagree. I did not mention this in the original post, but part of my intentions for this creature in this specific map were because this is the only map I could see this creature being fully used in. The Bison does not have any specific tie in to Aberration, and other maps fit it better thematically, but on those maps I believe it would only be used for the milk. All of its other features, especially resource transportation, are made more convenient and safer with the flyers on those maps. Aberration is unique in how most resources are not found in the area people make bases in, and without flyers transporting resources between the areas proves difficult at times. I wanted some way to make this task easier and safer, but it makes sense why some do not like this creature for the map. If response to the creature is good but replies continue to disagree with it being in Aberration, I may submit it for the other maps instead. Another play at the Giant Bison, this one based on Bison priscus. It may seem too normal for Aberration, but these creatures are uniquely equipped to deal with the hostile environment and can have abilities that tie in to existing features of the map. The idea was to keep things simple, not giving it a half dozen abilities and instead focus on adding utility to the few abilities it does have. For the moment, there is no artwork for these creatures. May or may not add some to this post if it gains traction. Wild The Bison are found in large herds throughout the Fertile Green Zone and Bioluminescent Blue Zone, particularly the large flat areas found there. Survivors will quickly learn that the Bison are gentle giants and will ignore all creatures unless provoked. However, anything daring enough to attack a herd will soon find itself being overrun in a massive stampede that can topple some of the strongest dinosaurs on the Ark. The only way to survive a stampede is to climb; running and fighting are futile against a sea of horns. Despite their strength in numbers, they are weaker when alone, so it is advised to encounter one in this state if you want to kill or tame it, though this certainly does not trivialize it. Taming Owing to their gentle nature, the Bison will be a passive tame. In order to be tamed, a Bison must be separated from its herd. It can be tamed by feeding it like other herbivores, but this will take too long alone. To tame it more quickly, you must surround it with other tamed dinosaurs that are of similar size, giving it an "adopted herd" so it does not feel alone. Depending on what food you feed it and how many tamed creatures surround it, its taming effectiveness will increase. Tamed Survivors who manage to tame a Bison will find a sturdy mount at their disposal. Bison are strong and have thick skin, so they are immune to most conditions that may affect them. Extreme temperatures, gnashes, venom, and even Aberrations potent radiation pose no threat to them. Riders must be careful, though, since many of these can still affect them. Despite their stocky appearance, they are naturally quick animals when the terrain suits them. Bison are capable of outrunning most predators in an open field, but are mediocre swimmers and incapable of climbing. Bison lack hardware to efficiently harvest any resources, but still prove invaluable to support this purpose due to their extremely high carry weight and ability to reduce the load of most materials. A tribe with several Bison can use them to ferry resources back to their base before other dinosaurs become overburdened while harvesting, aided by their movement speed. Attacks Bison have limited options for attacking, but the few attacks they are capable of are quite strong. Headbutt: Basic attack to do solid damage Back Kick: Much like the Equus, these kicks deal less damage but cause torpor to increase significantly Stampede: Read Below Herd Boost Like a Pack Boost, but slightly different. When a group of Bison of any combination of genders is together, they form a herd, gaining damage and resistance buffs. These buffs will be smaller than those for existing pack creatures, but can stack higher with more Bison (10+). When in a herd, wild Bison will form a Stampede when any is hurt. When tamed, they will do the same if set to Neutral, but a player riding a Bison can manually initiate a stampede. Stampeding Bison will smash through most creatures and some structures, dealing increased damage as they do so. As they run, they also will churn the ground, uncovering resources much like the earthquakes do on Aberration. Milk Female Bison produce a special milk that is adored by most baby creatures. When given to newborns, it provides food and slight imprint bonuses, making it much easier for Survivors to raise creatures. This milk can also be added to most recipes to make them more effective, increasing the duration of special effects granted by the food and drink.
  14. Hi guys I would like to introduce you guys to my hyper charged healer .. the lambeosaurus . This is gonna be the 8 th community vote creature and we still haven’t gotten any cool herbivores so after 2 months of writing down ideas that are original and unique so this creature feels right at home in the depths of aberration I feel like it would please the pvp and pve fandbase. COMMON NAME: LAMBEO SPECIES: LAMBEOSAURUS ILUMIMEDICA DIET:HERBIVORE/CHARGE TIME: LATE CRETACEOUS TEMPERMENT: DOCILE/SKITTISH WILD : IN the wild Lambeosaurus ilumimedica is a majestic creature to behold unlike in the fossil records Lambeosaurus has developed bioluminescence on their crest due to their diet of berries, mushrooms and plant species z fruit. I have observed Lambeosaurus traveling through the mid levels of these caverns always protected from any predators from other battle ready herbivores. I was wondering why these other herbivores creatures would protect Lambeosaurus until I witnessed this majestic bellow that healed wounds from its allies at a superb rate.it would make sense that other herbivores would have a symbiotic relationship with Lambeosaurus due to its regenerating voice. If that wasn’t useful enough it’s voice also doubles as a charged shockwave that deters nameless and reapers . DOMESTICATED: If domesticated I believe Lambeosaurus could develop a new ability on top of its super charged healing voice. I theorize that if synchronized with another Lambeosaurus the symphony would be able to create an area around the two Lambeosaurus that would nullify any radiation within a certain radius . If possible tribes would be able to live in the molten element region completely radiation free. Although Lambeosaurus utilizes charge it cannot produce it by its own so make sure to have a bountiful amount of z fruit or access to some light pets OK now time to get into the details of this bad boy . TAMING : wild Lambeosaurus could spawn in with stegos, mole rats, parasaurs, iguanodons etc. if you attack any herbivores near the Lambeosaurus it will reject you and will not be able to be tamed . In order to tame one you must bring in a injured tamed (herbivore) that is below 20% hp once in the vicinity of the Lambeosaurus it will accept it as part of its Allies and it will start to heal your tame , the more time the Lambeosaurus heals will result in increased taming affinity, once in a while the Lambeosaurus would also need to be cared for during the taming process such as : 1. Hand feeding z fruit 2. shine any source of charge at it 3. give berries to the other herbivores once all requirements have been met the Lambeosaurus should be a easy tame . CELESTIAL CALL: that is what im dubbing the Lambeosaurus roar . Once active the Lambeosaurus will constantly sing and any creature in its area will be affected by the healing buff or if vulnerable to charge will have its respective de buff. Lambeosaurus could possibly sing for long periods of time if feed constantly with z fruit or if a source of charge grazes the Lambeosaurus. A added benefit would be that any creature that is being healed by Lambeosaurus would temporarily be immune to bleed, narcotic effects or stuns. ANTI RADIATION SYMPHONY: in order for this ability to work you must have 2 Lambeosaurus near each over and let them synchronize their roars, it will take aprox, 5 min to ready up. Once ready the area will be displayed that will allow any creature and structure to reside within the deep cavern without radiation sickness. But here’s the catch . Both Lambeosaurus must be feed a consistent flow of z fruit in order to keep up with their melody and if one of them manages to take enough damage it will disrupt the song and radiation will pour in once more
  15. Hello fellow survivors, this is my first submission to a creature vote, so if any of this formatting is weird, please bear with me. Anyway, here's my submission for the Aberration creature vote and one of my favorite herbivores, the Ouranosaurus (Art made by me). Common Name: Ouranosaurus Species: Ouranosaurus anticachemicus Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Reactive Wild Ouranosaurus anticachemicus is perhaps one of the weirdest herbivores I've seen on the Arks, especially compared to its relative the Iguanodon. Though it is large and bulky, with the ability to unleash punishing stomps and kicks to any aggressor, most predators leave it alone as it peacefully searches for the next berry bush or mushroom patch to feast on. However, the reason why Ouranosaurus seems to be immune to such attacks from large carnivores like Spinosaurus or Carnotaurus may lie in how often times it chews up narcotic-inducing substances and then proceeds to rub them into its skin, causing whatever attacks it to eventually knock itself out. The Ouranosaurus itself seems to be immune to any negative effects caused by its food. Or perhaps it simply has a different effect on the animal, which would certainly explain its lax behaviour! Domesticated Just when it seems this herbivore couldn't get any stranger, it just keeps on surprising! I've talked to tribes who have managed to tame the beasts, telling stories of the Ouranosaurus walking in on them while cooking up stews and curries and patiently waiting for a serving themselves. It appears that the more complex the stew and soup, as long as it contains mushrooms or berries, the more friendly an Ouranosaurus will be towards you, even if it includes meat or eggs. The tribes have also begun to use the bizarre ability to consume literally anything without repercussions and used it to grind together various substances that can be used in place of narcotics or stimulants. I even observed them using an Ouranosaurus to grind up gunpowder and gasoline, fitting a pouch under its snout to collect as the resources ran down its neck. Others decided to allow the Ouranosaurus to simply rub the narcotics all over its body as it would in the wild before riding out into danger, with every foe who attacked them collapsing not long after. No matter which way a survivor decides to use this creature, it is sure to be worthwhile. Habitat: As mentioned in the dossier, the Ouranosaurus will be near mushroom patches and berry bushes, mostly near water sources, generally untouched by most predators due to go along with the idea that predators have found out not to touch them due to their abilities idea, like how monarch butterflies are generally avoided due to being poisonous. Usability: Mobile Chemistry Bench: I can already hear "BUt WhaT About THe EqUUs" comments and how it already functions as mortar and pestle as a saddle. My goal for the Ouranosaurus was not to replace the Equus or any other similar creature, like the Iguanodon, but to offer an alternative (It's slower than both and has no lasso or infinite stamina, in case it was necessary to mention). The Ouranosaurus can make everything that the chemistry bench can, albeit of course at a slower rate to not eliminate the use of a chemistry bench completely as having one on the go can be useful. In order to activate this ability for the Ouranosaurus to grind everything up in its mouth and spit it out, I had the idea that the player must toggle whether or not it will have a pouch beneath its head to collect the resources. While this is toggled, the Ouranosaurus can still attack, but it can't activate its other ability. Chemical Covering If the resource pouch is not toggled, then anything that the Ouranosaurus consumes that has an effect, such as narcoberries, narcotics, or stimberries, the Ouranosaurus will chew up and rub the juices on its body, giving it a coating that reflects said effect onto anything that attacks it, as seen in how a Carnotaurus is knocked out after it bit the Ourano in the dossier. In order to help counteract the overpowered potential of this ability, not only will it not last, but it will also take up a lot of said resources and they will not provide the Ourano food. This process can be helped to tame creatures as this ability pairs well with the bulk and health of this herbivore. YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE OF THESE ABILITIES ACTIVE AT A TIME. Travel: The Ouranosaurus is somewhat slow and bulky but has a good amount of stamina, and due to its good stamina usage and recovery, it can cover a long distance with little trouble due to not aggroing many creatures outside of things like reapers, markings, or alphas. It is also immune to radiation, so anywhere is really available as long as you are up for the journey. The saddle will also have a two-person saddle, stretching across the top of the sail and each person sitting on one side, with weapon use allowed. Combat: The Ouranosaurus has two primary attacks, those being a front stomp with both legs and a back kick. Both deal a good amount of damage but lack effects as they wouldn't be necessary. The chemical covering ability can also be used to help knock out enemy tames or wild creatures to render them useless depending on whether the substance eaten has a narcotic effect, or hunger to drop if it ate something like stimberries. The Ouranosaurus itself is immune to any of these effects. Taming: Here's the drawback of taming such a creature with strong physical and unique abilities. As stated, it is necessary to use recipes to tame the Ouranosaurus as long as they have mushrooms or berries in them, and the more complex the recipe, the quicker it will tame. However, it will also follow you home if you recently ate any recipe that followed these requirements and wait around until you've either cooked up a meal for it or until the effect wears off. They will passively hang around the base unless attacked So, why did I choose Ouranosaurus? With its sail and potential for bright colorings and glowing patterns, Ouranosaurus will surely stand out from other creatures on the Ark, which I think is very important for an Ark being all about unique compared to the rest of them, with its main diet being berries and mushrooms due to them being plentiful in the Ark. I also wanted to buff out the sorely lacking herbivore representation in the game, with most of them being weak and starter tames that usually get bodied by the many carnivores that stalk the Arks, which generally isn't true in most cases in real life (Cue "it's a video game" comments. Please hush I want my funky badass hadrosauriform who is also potentially high all the time to beat the crap out of stuff). In the end, I just think it's neat. However, most importantly: If you wouldn't want something like this and would rather have something else, THATS OKAY. I hope you find something you do like and HAVE A GOOD DAY.
  16. Diamantinasaurus The Behemoth Cave Sauropod Art by Brian Engh from dontmesswithdinosaurs.com Dossier- Name: Diamantinasaurus Time: Late Cretaceous🕰️ Diet: Herbivore🌱 Temperament: Neutral😐 Wild The Diamantinasaurus is a colossal herbivorous sauropod from Australia commonly found in both the green and blue zones. Large plates that adorn the Diamantinasaurus' back serve as protection against predators and the radiation within the Ark. Unlike most herbivores, the Diamantinasaurus possesses a highly developed sense of aggression when threatened, enabling it to fiercely defend itself by utilizing its immense size and powerful tail to fend off potential predators. In the wild, the Diamantinasaurus employs its large front limbs to pound the ground, similar to the roll rat, in order to unearth gems. Taming When taming the Diamantinasaurus, its back plates will glow in either green, blue, or red, corresponding to the three gems found in each zone. These colours will alternate during the taming process. The survivor will then need to drop the gem that matches the colour of the plates. However, once the Diamantinasaurus consumes a gem, it becomes aggressive, and any attempt to ride a mount will result in the Diamantinasaurus knocking the rider off. The taming time will depend on the level of the Diamantinasaurus and the difficulty of obtaining the required gems, so survivors must come prepared. Domesticated Once domesticated, the Diamantinasaurus can be utilized to significantly enhance the efficiency of harvesting various gem nodes scattered across the diverse zones of Ark Aberration. In addition to this valuable capability, the Diamantinasaurus possesses other abilities and utilities that make it a versatile asset in this challenging environment. Primitive dual catapult saddle: the catapults mounted on the Diamantinasaurus are reminiscent of the trolls' catapults from Lord of the Rings. Positioned on either side of the Diamantinasaurus, they accommodate two individuals, much like the seating arrangement on an Amargasaurus saddle. This setup serves as both a PvP strategy and an alternative to taming the Karkinos, albeit with the inherent risk of the Karkinos still having the capability to snatch the two individuals operating the catapults. It is worth noting that the saddle itself can sustain damage through extensive use, but higher tiers of saddles may possess greater durability. Radiation protection saddle: despite its higher cost compared to the primitive alternative, boasts infinite durability without the inclusion of the two catapults. It provides the rider and two others with protection from the radiation in the red zone, as well as from the effects of the spores found in both the green and blue zones. Attacks Ground pound: will dismount players from dinos and will harvest more gems from nodes Reduced weight from gems Tail swipe: pushes back dinos and harvests berries and thatch Charge: breaks through wood and thatch however has a large cooldown Passive abilities Dorsal plates will glow with corresponding buff in each zone green, blue and red- Green higher speed Blue quicker cooldown and larger AOE of ground pound Red Higher defense/attack and the dorsal plates will grow thicker and sharper Passively produces light in all zones
  17. Proposal My proposed creature is aurochs. The auorchs is a bovid from northern Europe that became extinct around the 17th century and could measure up to 2.8m. Information Group: Mammal Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Very aggressive Characteristics aurochs would be the only creature in the ark whose offspring would be a different color than the parents, even if you change the color of the creature with commands the offspring will always be a very light brown color Colored areas 0: Central part of the body 1: Front and back of the animal (including legs) 2: Hair on the forehead and the line of the back 3: Hooves and around the muzzle 4: Head 5: Horns and center of the muzzle Equipment A saddle can be put on it with or without a platform, but with a very small platform and a built-in boiler that would work like a normal non-industrial pot. Up to 3 people can ride on the saddle without a platform the necessary materials are: metal Wood pearls fiber cement Behavior He has a medium range of vision and only if you enter his field of vision will he attack you and depending on the distance at which you are he will use one attack or another. Since wild hatchlings may appear naturally in ARK survival ascended, the amount of hatchlings may increase aggression. Just like with cows in real life. Rewards Keratin meat First class meat skin Ur sweat gland. coat Domestication Due to its aggressive behavior, it will have to be comforted in some way so that it does not detect us, it can be with insect pellent, a camouflage suit or the most effective way with the ur sweat glands and to get them you will need to kill a other ur to get it and consume it. re It would have a type of passive domestication where the creature could not be aggressive. Bovids like buffalo bears and bison eat a large amount of lignin which is a component of wood so their favorite foods would be, in order of best to worst, kibble, fungal wood, sap, normal wood, vegetables, the purple berry and the other berries. Once tamed it will be able to consume nomal and fungal wood, sap, berries, vegetables and vegetable cakes Effects An ur when it kills a beaver or another ur (the second only with domesticated bears) will acquire an increase similar to that of the magateri which will also make it become aggressive even if you have taken the gland. Since they are all wood consumers. All hits deal 75% more damage to beaver dams Controls Basic Headshot (left click) - a basic headshot with enough damage ignores all armor types. Collect corpses, bushes and trees, getting more straw. Charge (right click) - a boost charge, applies bleeding of a very high percentage, dismounts. You will not be able to turn while charging. +75% damage resistance Collect trees to get more wood and some sap Kick (c) - a kick with one leg, but if you have the effect it will be done with both like the andrewsarcus. Bram ( x ) - +50% damage and +50% damage resistance Jump (spacebar) - makes a small jump Both with the kick and with the load and the basic blow it can damage straw, wood and stone structures, especially damaging wooden structures. utilities Mobile tent: Due to its saddle with platform you can have a protection since you can build a small structure. Help to tame ur: Generate ur sweat in your inventory which allows you to tame them more easily. Boss mount : Due to its strong attack and the fact that it can enter the boss fight arena it can be a good option to face them. Climber: He can climb very steep slopes and combined with his jump can be of help in climbing up steep inclines Reaper-killer: Due to its resistance, bleed and ability to ignore armor it can easily kill a reaper king/reaper queen Mount for the surface: due to its resistance to radiation and its ease of killing reapers it can be a good mount for exploring the surface Weight reduction wood 85% fungal wood 90% sap 70% ur sweat 25% Collection berries fiber fungal wood wood knew straw cactus sap rare flower rare mushrooms silk keratin chitin raw meat prime raw meat raw mutton skin abyssal ice biotoxin organic polymer coat fungi Appearance area They appear throughout the blue zone and parts of the green
  18. Iani Smithi. It's an iguanadontian, but being known for having teeth rather than a bill and a strong jaw I thought it could be a cool pack-type dino. Since Carnivores have been so popular and people want more herbivores this could be a good in between. Like they get a buff of bleed and the broken bone thing when either in a pack or given a certain food(rare flower/mushroom or beer). They would be more the size of raptors than the size of the normal iguanodon. This would also mean being less bulky and more offensive stat wise. The inspiration for it being an aggresive dino is it's name being inspired by Janus, the two-faced roman god. And it's name also relates to change, this being the map where Rockwell went through his big change I thought this would be a fitting addition. Since it would be for ab, it could keep the iguanodon skill of not using stam, while also being able to climb on vines/ropes like ravagers. Also being in ab it could take advantage of the glow effect. It would have patches of skin that could be very vibrant and it's special ability would be to glow very brightly for a short amount of time confusing big predators and scaring off small ones. This would give it time to escape because it isn't built for fighting larger dinos(if they wanted to make it stronger they could make it able to jump on large dinos like deinonychus or even climb walls 😂). It's passive skills would be the unlimited stam buff and a weight reduction on crystal, gems, and gas. One suggestion I've seen is to make it immune to stuns so that it could counter shadowmanes. They have a glow affect like glow pets/bugs. They are attracted to light so you could use lamps or flares to lead them where you want. To tame them you will need to beat them to low health. once they are low health they will glow brightly and run to the nearest source of light (lamp, flare, glowbug, glow pet, aberrant dino, fire) as a source of comfort and lay down. Once they lay down you can passive tame them. This would take the form of taking care of them by feeding them or petting them till tamed. As offense based herbivores they would be territorial like a Therizino or chalico. They would aggro to anything that gets too close. When they get low on health they would use their flashbang ability to escape danger. Iani smithi
  19. So my idea for Longosuchus is that it would be a mobile farming/cooking creature. It would be especially useful to nomadic tribes. In real life it was a vegetarian crocodile so in game it should eat anything an herbivore would be able to. i think the creature in real life was fairly small in size but im hoping wildcard, if implemented, makes it bigger. I would like it to be able to fit a medium size crop plot on its back so you can grow anything that would fit inside one on the animals back. It should also as part of its saddle be able to have a cook pot attached so you can cook stuff on the go. When set to enable wandering it would passively destroy bushes and have a chance with each one to gather wild vegetables from them. These would be the same ones that you would grow in crop plots in the game. While wandering it would also passively generate sap (ripping up plants leaves a sappy mess all over your hands) in its inventory up to 30 max. Another thought was it could passively generate sweet veggie cakes from all the ingredients it would collect up to a maximum of 10. This would be a very slow process of about 1 cake an hour. Since it would be on aberration it would be great if the plant species z could grow on its back then you could have a mobile glowing plant to stop nameless from spawning near you if you happen to camp in the bioluminescent or radiation zones. but that would mean the creature would have to be able to fit a large crop plot on its back or the plant species z would have to fit in a medium plot. Another thought was that wild card could implement a new species of plant ( Plant species R) that when the fruit/veggie from it is consumed it would give you or your tames a radiation immunity buff for about one minute. It would be very helpful for exploring the radiation zone without having to rely on the costly and easily destroyed radiation suits. The Longosuchus would be able to find these plant seeds inside the radiation zone while enable wandering is on and ripping up plant bushes. in the wild i think they should spawn near water since they are a crocodilian. Which means they would spawn in the fertile and bioluminescent regions of aberration. To tame them i think the standard tranq method should be fine but it would only eat vegetables in its inventory. it will completely ignore berries. Or as an alternative it could be passively tamed using the veggie cake method. this would ultimately be wildcards decision if Longosuchus makes it into the game. If anyone else has any suggeestions to improve upon the creature feel free to post them here and upvote it as well please. Thanks everyone.
  20. Embolotherium is a very large estimated to be about 8feet tall species in the clade Brontotheriidae and was the largest of its group Brontotheriidae is a family of extinct mammals belonging to the order Perissodactyla, the order that includes horses, rhinoceroses, and tapirs. Superficially, they looked rather like rhinos, although they were actually more closely related to horses; Equidae and Brontotheriidae make up the suborder Hippomorpha it lived in North American and was found in deposits of the Oligocene Epoch (36.6 to 23.7 million years ago). In the Wild embolotherium would be a absolute units standing nearly as tall as a mammoth with the bulk to back up its monsturus size I would have it probably spawn in groups of 2 to 3 as they would be quite tanky and will defend eachother and will be hard to bring down They are quite friendly for their size as they have not many predators but when threatened they will charge what ever did it with and flatten it with their sheer mass and bulk and will hunt them down Tameing To tame such a beast you will need a huge stockpile of rockets as their hide is insanely thick and would resist most projects infused with toxins. It is just like a rockgolem standard knockout tame as it is pretty much a bigger wooly rhino but with less fur and and one strange shaped hore instead of a long sharp horn but you must be careful as the higher it's torp is the more rage it will have which buffs its speed and attack When tamed When tamed embolotherium is a power house able to go head on vs most of the apex carnivorous of the arks but will bearly scrape by most of the fights and will lose about 50% of the time it has a good amount of.speed for its size hits hard and can take a lots of punishment. It can also start a charge and when at max charge it can damage structures up to metal as its bulk and mass are so great it can do nice damage to structures. Abilities When charging embolotherium does something different it charges up a stun like a shadowmane/or trike as it gets faster the longer you run the longer the stun will last up to a maximum so that it doesn't become to op it also would have a buck ability by kicking behind it as to knock back and dangers that have got past its main weapon it can also when charging damage thatch wood Stine and metal structures it does more damage the longer the charge goes. Embolotherium also can be topped up to boost its damage and speed at the cost of its torpor it also gets a pack buff if their is more than 2 near by thx to everyone that votes
  21. (This isn't my drawing, I found it on wikimedia.org and will replace it with my own once its done) Gastornis velox is slighlty bigger than Terror Bird, and unlike its counterpart found on other Arks, this one is a herbivore. They just love all kinds of mushrooms, which conviniently happen to grow nearly all over Aberration. Wild members of this species aren't necessarily agressive towards survivors, but saying they're territorial is definitely not an exaggeration. But you can use that to your advantage, when trying to tame one. As a tamin mechanic, you'd need this bird to start chasing you first. After it begins running at high speed, set up a tripwire trap and make the creature trip on it. This will stun them for a moment giving you the opening to passively feed it rare mushrooms or any other kind of mushroom. Once it gets up, repeat this process until tamed. When tamed, it serves as a great companion for players who are yet to venture into the more dangerous areas of Aberration. For its size, it packs a punch and its health pool isn't too bad as well. However its speed is what really makes it stand out. It's one of the fastest creatures on all Arks. Gastornis doesn't use stamina while running and while doing so, builds up momentum. This bird can use said momentum to perform wall runs or run up semi flat walls. Performing those stunts will gradually decrease it's stamina so pay attention, you don't want to end up on the edge of a wall without stamina. Also, since momentum builds up while running, it instantly drains if the creature stops or slows down. Another ability of Gastornis that will help its tribe travel into more dangerous areas of this Ark is its relation to mushrooms. When mounted Gastornis enters an area with spores or radiation, it will attempt to eat mushrooms from its inventory to counter these effects (This ability won't work if you don't have any mushrooms of needed type). By doing so it grants the immunity to said debuff for a long time, both for itself and its rider. Other than that, this creature is good at gathering berries and excellent at gathering mushrooms. It's jumps are also comparable to that of Deinonychus.
  22. General Info: Sauropelta was a nodosaurid dinosaur from Eatly Cretaceous North America. At around 20ft long and weighing 2 tons, this heavily armored dinosaur is most recognizable by its large spikes protruding from its neck and its long spiked tail. Ark Info: Common Name: Sauropelta Species: Sauropelta crepitus (crepitus is Latin for “explosion”) Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile Wild: Of all the unique and bizarre creatures of this sunken world, Sauropelta crepitus is a somewhat nice chance of pass. It’s nice to finally see an animal that I can recognize from the fossil record. This herbivore is a distinct cousin of the Ankylosaurus and is also covered in heavy armored plates and spikes. However, what distinguishes Sauropelta from its relative is its lack of a tail club and the large row of spikes that run down its sides from the back of its head to its shoulders. I’ve seen few predators dare attack this spiky tank with legs, but those that do soon realize the mistake they have made. Sauropelta’s spikes are so sharp that simply bumping into one can cause deep and painful cuts. And if that wasn’t bad enough, it has the uncanny ability to “shed” this spikes on command, firing what are essentially knives in all directions at any attacker. These spikes can cut through the toughest of hide and pierce most kinds of armor. If this doesn’t deter the predator, Sauropelta has one more trick up its sleeve. By laying down on the ground and covering its legs, its armored back makes it untouchable by most predators and weaponry. Definitely not an herbivore you want to make made. Sauropelta has developed a taste for the many different types of mushrooms that grow in these giant caves. These beast are immune to the spores of even the deadliest of mushrooms and can detect them using their ken sense of smell. They absolutely love them! However, their love of the strange fungi makes them blind to danger. I’ve seen the predators of theses caves take advantage of the situation and catch these usually untouchable creatures off guard. Domesticed: How a survivor would even get close enough to one of these dinosaurs to domesticate it amazes me. It seems certain tribes have also used Sauropelta’s love of mushrooms to their advantage just like the carnivores have. By guarding the armored creature from incoming threats seems to gain the animals trust. Guide it to more patches of its favorite food and eventually, this spiky beast will become your new best friend. Although it can’t break through rocks like the Ankylosaurus, Sauropelta is an amazing animal for a survivor to have at their side. Its high carry weight make it a great beast of burden. Although it can be a bit slow, it still makes for an excellent travel companion in theses underground caverns. It’s ability to find mushrooms to make it vital if one hopes to avoid the deadly spores. Its spikes make it a very sought after mount as well. I’ve seen survivors keep a few Sauropelta around the outside of their homes to keep would be predators at bay. They have also learn that by making the dinosaur fire its spikes at the ground around it, they can create a protective layer of spikes around themselves. The spikes will cut through any creature that dares to get too close. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sauropelta would be a mid to late game tame with good weight, good damage, high health but low stamina and speed. Players would tame them by leading the dinosaur to patches of mushrooms and protect it from predators while it eats. Its spikes would cause bleed if the Sauropelta is attacked or if it’s attacking and enemy. The dinosaur also has the ability to shoot it spikes off its back similar to the Amargasaurs spikes that cause AOE damage around it. It would also have a turret mode were it will both act as a spiked wall and fire it’s spikes at targets. (All images are from Wikipedia)
  23. Common Name: Mastodon Species: Mastodon Robustus Time: Pleistocene Temperament: Protective Wild: Mastodon Robustus is a social, herding animal. They care for their young and are extremely protective, fighting anything that comes too close. Mastodon’s tusks are more straight than the Mammoths on the ark. They use these tusks as a way to brush through grass and bushes. The trunk then picks up the food like if it was a hand. The coat of hair on the Mastodon is thick, so thick that arrows and bullets cannot reach the skin. Arrows and bullets don’t stop this beast from walking! Domesticated: Mastodon can only be tamed while young. Survivors must separate the baby from its herd. Most tribes use Mastodon to collect fungi and fiber, but some tribes have built a special platform saddle that allows the Mastodon thick hair to be an offensive advantage. Taming Process Baby Mastodons are protected by the herd. Getting too close to a baby will cause the herd to target the player. If you are able to lead the baby far enough from the herd you can begin taming. The Baby mastodon will ask for Longrass, Rockarrot, Savoroot and Mejoberries. 24. (big rideable glow pet) Introducing Kosmoceratops, the Starlight Ceratopsian! Tags: herbivore, ceratopsian, flashbang, support, healer, soaker, seeker allies, armor reduction Credit to Nix Illustration for Design Common Name: Kosmoceratops Species: Kosmoceratops lumitaurus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: “It’s astonishing how well adapted some of the creatures in these caverns are. Kosmoceratops lumitaurus is the largest creature I’ve discovered thus far that produces that intense bioluminescent charge that keeps Nameless at bay… and attracts a private army of Chimaeram. Great… Whether it be dominance, ego, or just plain fun, these ceratopsians challenge not only other Kosmoceratops, but other threatening species as well, including survivors! They bow down in respect to those who can best them in a one-on-one spar. Any lunatics out there might be able to use this to their advantage.” Domesticated: “After gaining the respect of this starlight behemoth, survivors may find a variety of uses for them. They have a notable amount of durability thanks to their head armor, and they possess a glowing, corrosive saliva that melts through armor thanks to the plants it consumes. I think I’ll not have what they’re having, thank you. A large dinosaur that emits charge that repels Nameless and is immune to high concentrations of radiation makes it an excellent mount to traverse the lower reaches of these caverns. Introduction: Greetings, survivors! I introduce to you the flashbang bastion; the Kosmoceratops! The foundational ideas and selling points for this dinosaur include: Role as a mid-game support that can be used in endgame PvP Rideable glow pet Radiation and plant z immunity Ability to heal allies and blind enemies Ability to corrode and highlight enemies with bite attacks I personally think Kosmoceratops, or at the very least this concept, should be added to the game due to an oversaturation of apex predators in the PvP metagame as well as expanding upon one of the most unique (and one of my personal favorite) maps in the game. Ceratopsians in general need a little more love than just Triceratops and Pachyrhinosaurus. Adding this behemoth would help spice the meta up and give people more reason to play on ARK: Aberration. Wild: Kosmoceratops live in the malfunctioning ARK’s bio-luminescent marshlands and molten element canyons, being the only large herbivore found in the latter zone. They can spawn on their own or in herds of up to three members. They are naturally territorial, and will tend to gang up on large carnivores that pose a threat to them. Kosmoceratops tend to be more aggressive in these herds, so it is highly advised to avoid them whenever possible. While on their own they are still a force to be reckoned with, they behave in a slightly different manner… Like glow pets, Kosmoceratops produce a constant aura of charge which can repel Nameless and attract Seekers. Seekers aren’t naturally hostile towards these dinosaurs, respecting them as a source of food, and will typically assist them in combat. When low on health, the ceratopsian can emit a blinding light from its frill and horns to disorient threats before speeding away. Taming Process: To be tamed, this dinosaur must be separate from any herd or any Seekers. Having aggroed the herd prior won’t trigger the process. Once isolated, the process will begin when the Kosmoceratops performs an animation, blinking its frill lights and kicking up the dirt. The dinosaur is challenging you to a one-on-one spar. The frill constantly pulsating light faintly is a sign the Kosmo is undergoing the taming process. If any other creature or survivor interferes, regardless of friend or foe, the taming bar will return to 0. After dealing 75% of the dinosaur’s total health in the battle, it will bow down in exhaustion. Step forward and claim your reward. Tamed: Congratulations! You’ve successfully tamed a Kosmoceratops! Now with this bioluminescent barbarian in your hands, life in the caverns of the aberrant ARK should be much more convenient. Actions: Primary Attack (, , ): Click: A sweeping head attack with noticeable knockback. The Kosmoceratops can turn 180-degrees if looking backward. Hold: A charged bite attack that increases in damage the longer it is held. This bite leaves a unique status induced by the dinosaur’s saliva, which corrodes its way through health, armor, and even metal structures. The saliva itself is also bioluminescent, highlighting bitten enemies with a bright light that friends and foes can see. The duration of this status also scales with the attack’s wind up time. Secondary Attack (, , ): The range of this move scales with Charge Range / Melee Damage. Click: A violent flash of light erupts from the dinosaur’s frill, inducing the same effect as plant z fruit. This requires a large amount of charge to use. Hold: The ceratopsian’s light creates an aura of healing in front of itself, acting like the animal equivalent of a plant z. It heals at around the same rate, though drains charge fast. Taunting Roar (Click C, , ): The Kosmoceratops’s roar taunts wild and tamed creatures like a Magmasaur. However, its own defenses and damage are increased. Crouch (Press Space, , ): The Kosmoceratops hunkers down into a defensive state, taking significantly reduced damage at the cost of not being able to attack or move much at all. Passive Abilities: Charge Light: Kosmoceratops essentially operates like a giant, rideable glow pet! Much like the Bulbdog and its peers, Kosmoceratops’ stats also upgrade its charge light capabilities. Stamina correlates with Charge Capacity, Oxygen with Charge Regeneration, and Melee Damage with Charge Range. You can activate the charge light while mounted in the same way lifesteal can be enabled while riding a Desmodus. Batteries can also be charged within the dino’s inventory like a charge station, though at a slower rate. Seeker Symbiosis: Seekers will gather around Kosmoceratops, but won’t attack them or their rider. They instead become allies, attacking threats that get too close to their food source. Damage-to-Head Reduction: Like the Triceratops, the Kosmoceratops possesses damage reduction on its head, though not as effective. Gathering: Kosmoceratops can gather berries and minerals fairly well with its bite. However, it is most proficient at gathering element ore, and one of the best tools to mine the resource. Immunities: Kosmoceratops are immune to the effects of radiation and plant z fruits. Turn in Place: While not moving, a Kosmoceratops can turn to the direction the rider is facing similarly to Spinosaurus. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Kosmoceratops are great for traversing the caverns of the aberrant ARK, though lacking a solid turn while sprinting. Riders can wander on Kosmo back to farm for rare materials in the lower reaches of the blue and red zones with their radiation immunity and charge light. Reapers and Nameless are repelled by their light, and Seekers are attracted to it, though becoming temporary allies with the dinosaur and their rider. Kosmoceratops are one of the best ways to retrieve Rock Drake eggs early on before getting replaced by Rock Drakes themselves for that niche. PvP: This ceratopsian is designed as a support class along with the likes of Daeodons, Yutyrannus, and Snow Owls. They aren’t very good at dealing a lot of damage, and they are far from the tankiest creature in the game. By blinding, highlighting, and taunting enemies and healing allies, the Kosmoceratops provides essential aid that could bring favor to a matchup, even if the dinosaur itself isn’t directly fighting. It also acts as a good soaker with the damage reduction it gets from its taunt, crouch, and head armor. Chargelight invalidates the presence of Reapers, removing more danger from potential confrontations. The lack of damage output is their greatest weakness, not being nearly as strong as other creatures of its size class. It lacks the tools to completely defend its blindspots, especially from faster tames like Deinonychus, Thylacoleos, and fliers. Conclusion: Outside of the obvious Triceratops comparisons, Kosmoceratops lacks much overlap in terms of utility and niche in a tribe’s roster. A very complex and strong creature, but balanced out by notable weaknesses that ensure it doesn’t usurp other dinos. It has been a while since we’ve gotten a creature designed to be a support in PvP, so I hope this works out for that niche! Have fun, survivors! References (Accurate & Inaccurate):
  25. Introduction: Greetings, survivors! I introduce to you the skyscraping sauropod; the Dreadnoughtus! The foundational ideas and selling points for this dinosaur include: Role as a late game juggernaut with heavy artillery Two taming methods; one passive and one violent Customizable saddle with turrets, cannons, and ballistas The ability to vomit cannonballs covered in stomach acid Damage and defense buff against other large creatures I personally think this concept for Dreadnoughtus would work well in the game, as a massive siege weapon that can tear through just about anything in its path. It would be one of the most powerful creatures a tribe could have except for the Titanosaurus and Titans themselves, tying with the Giga and Carcha in strength. With the idea I have in mind, it would also be one of the more immersive creatures with a few of its mechanics. On Ragnarok, it's saddle could potentially be inspired by Viking Ships. Dossier Data Common Name: Dreadnoughtus Species: Dreadnoughtus maximus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: “Dreadnoughtus maximus is the undisputed ruler of this island. It towers over everything except for the very titans themselves, and its presence can be felt from afar. Like any royalty, I’d say they feel entitled to everything. While they pay no mind to those beneath them, they bully and harass other large creatures that they view as rivals and threats, including others of their kind! They become more powerful when enraged by enemies, and when more confident with herdmates.” Domesticated: “I’ve noticed that each individual has a unique daily routine. The tribe I spoke with that owns one claimed they assisted it in its activities to gain its trust, so take that for what you will. Said tribe also created a PHENOMENAL saddle that provides full protection for the primary rider, and can be customized with heavy artillery to one’s content. It seems like something straight out of the viking age! One word of caution, though. Kings like to be pampered, and Dreadnoughtus are no different. If their needs aren’t met and are neglected by their masters, they may go feral again and launch a lethal temper tantrum. Talk about a big spoiled brat!” Wild: The Dreadnoughtus is a rare find on Ragnarok, sharing its spawn points with Titanosaurus. Unlike the Titanosaur, however, it is quite territorial and will attack creatures of a given size on sight. Creatures the size of or larger than a Rex will attract its attention and grant the Dreadnoughtus a buff similar to the Triceratops’ rivalry, though extending to large herbivores as well. Dreadnoughtus will even fight each other in battles, losers remaining as underlings within whatever herd is forming. This enraged state is visible with the inflation of its neck sacs. They generally pay no mind to survivors and their tames unless they surpass the size threshold. Taming Process: Dreadnoughtus have TWO taming methods; one for first timers, another for those that already have a Dreadnoughtus for themselves. Non-Violent Taming: The Dreadnoughtus is a massive animal that is incredibly high maintenance. They each have unique daily routines survivors can learn and adapt to accordingly. Helping a Dreadnoughtus go about their activities will develop trust and friendship between the survivors and the dinosaur. These activities include: Feeding: Feed the Dreadnoughtus vegetables or kibble. Toss a cannonball on the ground as a lure, getting the dinosaur to lower its head thinking it's a gastrolith. Then, you can feed it directly at its head. Playing: Help the Dreadnoughtus kill other dinosaurs and break structures in its territory until it is satisfied. Bathing: Clean the Dreadnoughtus of filth and parasites by using soap on its body. Sleeping: Protect the Dreadnoughtus as hordes of wild dinosaurs attempt to attack it. Enough damage from wild creatures will force the Dreadnoughtus to wake up and reduce taming effectiveness. Dreadnoughtus activities and needs rotate occasionally similar to a Moschops’ diet. Keep helping the dinosaur out until it completely trusts you. Violent Taming: A tamed Dreadnoughtus is required for this method. Your tamed Dreadnoughtus must challenge a wild individual with a roar, engaging in a fight. Dealing high enough damage will force the wild Dreadnoughtus to back down and join your herd. Tamed: Congratulations! You’ve successfully tamed a Dreadnoughtus! This titanic sauropod’s abilities lend themselves well to the many aspects of life on Ragnarok. Actions: Primary Attack (, , ): Looking Straight, Left, or Right: A long and wide neck sweep that deals high damage and high knockback. Looking Down: A fast stomp attack that deals high damage but has little knockback. Looking Up: A fast upward neck sweep that deals little damage but knocks aerial targets far. Secondary Attack (, , ): Cannonballs are used as ammo for this attack. The Dreadnoughtus vomits out one of the cannonballs in its stomach, with the ball drenched in stomach acid. The more the attack is charged, the faster the shot is fired and the more damage is dealt. However, this attack also drains the Food stat to use. Roar (C, , ): A bellowing roar that causes the Dreadnoughtus’ neck sacs to inflate. Use this to engage in duels with wild Dreadnoughtus. If used by the highest level individual in a herd, they will gain the Pack Leader status effect for 120 seconds before going on cooldown for another 120. Tertiary Attack (Space, , ): The front of the Dreadnoughtus’ saddle has a large drill-like spear mounted on the chest that can fire out like a harpoon. It pierces into creatures of all sizes for massive damage, and holding this attack will pull them towards the Dreadnoughtus. The size and weight of the creature determines the pull speed, and the creature must escape by continuously attacking. Sleeping Animation: Like a Shadowmane or Megalosaurus, the Dreadnoughtus has a sleeping animation that can be toggled when off of its back. Passive Abilities: Giantslayer: Dreadnoughtus gain a damage and defense buff in the presence of the following creatures: Astrocetus, Brontosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Diplodocus, Giganotosaurus, Paraceratherium, Quetzal, Reaper (King and Queen), Rex, Rock Golem, Rhyniognatha, Spino, Titanosaur, Magmasaur, Megachelon, Wyvern (all types) All Bosses (only Titans matter except for maybe SOTF since you can’t take them into arenas) ARK Additions: Acrocanthosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Deinosuchus, Deinotherium Gathering: Berries and fiber are gathered fairly decently. Wood and minerals are what it is more proficient at, however. It would be the best option in the game if it weren’t for its massive size preventing it from entering many areas. Marine Traversal: Dreadnoughtus can turn into a literal dreadnought. It swims better than most creatures of its size, with many of its attacks and weapons intact. Like an Andrewsarchus, it can also sink to the ocean floor and walk along. A decently high oxygen stat allows them to sit below water for a long period of time. Heavy Artillery Saddle: The saddle of a Dreadnoughtus is unique due to its sheer customizability. There are a total of 7 equipment slots in the saddle. Turrets, ballistas, or cannons can be equipped onto the saddle. Cannons and ballistas are controlled manually, while turrets require gasoline in the dinosaur’s inventory to help fuel the saddle’s personal generator. 4 siege weapons on the neck, 2 on the shoulders, and 1 on the rump. Located on the chest is the previously mentioned drill-spear harpoon that resembles Monster Hunter’s Dragonator that is used directly by the driver. All riders are vulnerable except for the driver, protected in a car-like section of the saddle. Saddle References: ⚠ Maintenance ⚠: Dreadnoughtus are high maintenance creatures as mentioned earlier. This means providing constant care and attending to the dinosaur’s needs. Giving it what it wants manually from time to time will keep its physical health up, increasing Health & Stamina Regeneration. If left ignored, the sauropod’s health will deteriorate, and the mentioned stats will be reduced. Dreadnoughtus will actively become hostile towards you if their needs aren’t met, and can potentially spell the end for your tribe if you’re not cautious and attentive. Alpha Dreadnoughtus will even turn properly treated individuals on their masters as well. Don’t think about locking them in a cryopod either, as even within containment, they are still aware of your neglect. Utility & Scenarios: PvE: Dreadnoughtus find themselves as great resource gatherers and bodyguard when traversing across Ragnarok. Their swimming ability allows them to navigate across Ragnarok's oceans, and allow for resource collection at the sea floor. PvP: Now this is what Dreadnoughtus are designed to do. They find themselves at the top of the meta-game’s food chain, alongside the Giga and Carcha. Stats, abilities, and tools once again are incredibly useful in battles. Having survivors man multiple siege weapons mounted on the saddles turns the Dreadnoughtus into an almost unstoppable and completely destructive force. With enough turrets, ammo, and fuel, it may even become a mobile turret tower that guns things down before they even approach it. Their size is just about as big of a strength as it is a weakness, since it is a large target and has a hard time fighting in more claustrophobic spaces. The location of a base like a rathole doesn’t lend itself well to Dreadnoughtus management, since the creature needs a large space if it is going to be outside of a cryopod. Conclusion: At first glance, Dreadnoughtus might seem a little overpowered. It has a lot going for it as a giant endgame herbivore on par with the great G and C. While it isn’t balanced out on the end of PvP, it is in PvE. Very few creatures are balanced in their strength outside of the battle itself, and the Dreadnoughtus definitely changes the playstyle many people may attempt. Overall, it is a fairly unique and absurd concept I’d love to see enter the game and act as the first dinosaur added in through the creature vote. Have fun, survivors!
