  1. Wild : The shantung is an aggressive dinosaur, spawning in the sunken forest, sanctuary, and very rarely in the wasteland around those areas Look : A large hadrosaur with a similar look to the iguanodon, unlike the shantungosauruses of prehistory, this species appear to have osteoderms along there sides and back, giving a small damage reduction and immunity to torpor on its sides. Taming : To tame a shantung of your own, you must shoot it in the side with a rocket or two, then fill its softer belly with tranq darts until it either knocks out, or gets up, requiring to be knocked over again. In terms of food, it is the same as other herbivores, with the preferred kibble being exceptional. Its torpor drains at a medium rate and taming a bit slower than a rex Saddle : This is where the shantung gets unique, having three different types of saddles, being wooden, metal, and tek, wood being the worst, and tek being the best, 2 player seating. The unique part about the saddles however, is that you can attach most if not all types of turrets onto the saddles, one turret at a time of course, the different saddles determine what ammo is needed, if a third player can ride, if it is automated, and the type of attack the turret has. any turrets that are normally effected by the ammo box are also effected while strapped to the shantungosaurus. Stats : Amazing health and health scaling, decent melee damage and melee damage scaling, high weight and weight scaling, low 02 and 02 scaling, mediocre stamina and stamina scaling, slow movement speed, drag weight : 600. 5% damage reduction on body, 10% ballistic and explosive damage of body. Attacks : Headbutt, left click, the shant does a headbutt forward, knocking back smaller dinos and dealing 30 base damage. Stomp, right click, the Shant stomps the foot in the cameras direction and dealing a base damage of 70. Super stomp, X, the shant stands on its hind legs and then slams its front limbs into the ground, having a minute long cooldown and dealing a base damage of 300 (probably not balanced). Aesthetic roar, ctrl, the shant stands on its hind legs and roars to the sky, pearly aesthetic with no effect. This is probably not balanced and would most likely need to be changed if in the game. Only internet images as I sadly can't draw well.
  2. Hello fellas, today i'm going to present you an extraordinary and amazing dinosaur: ¨CORYTHOSAURUS CASUARIUS¨ Dossier Wild "The wasteland is one of the most hostile places, if not the most hostile, of earth. Even with the large number of corrupted creatures Corythosaurus Casuarius has been able to adapt and survive in the wasteland. The key to its survival seems to be its many-chambered crest, which allows it to emit a variety of sounds at different frequencies for different purposes, such as defending oneself or communicating with others of their kind." Domesticated "Taming Corythosaurus Casuarius is like bonding with a budgie, you need patience for it to gain trust with you. However, it has the temperament of a cassowary, so you must be careful when you you get close to Corythosaurus Casuarius (worth the redundancy). Contrary to popular belief, Corythosaurus is not a timid and elusive hadrosaur, it's more like a born warrior able of standing up to even corrupted creatures. Its roars are able of helping allies, calming hostile creatures and even nullifying their abilities, as it turns out that it emits a thunderous chant that it prevents other creatures use their abilities or even roar back to it". What corythosaurus can do? Corythosaurus has this following skills: Alternate between walking on two legs or running on four legs (such as Iguanodon already do in the game) Has 3 types of roars: Melodic roar or melodic singing: Corythosaurus emits a chant that removes aggro from creatures (including most corrupted creatures) Also causes all allied creatures to roar with it (such as Rex and Yutyrannus). War cry or war roar: Corythosaurus emits a cry that boosts the strength, resistance and speed of allied creatures, perfect for elemental raids or OSD waves. Stoic roar or nullifying Roar: Corythosaurus emits a roar that can nullify any ability of any creature, such as Yutyrannus roars, managarmr's ice breath, snowl owl's healing, wyvern's breath, etc). Element nodule detector: More information coming soon...
  3. READ THIS TEXT BEFORE YOU JUDGE MY IDEA I'm currently learning English so if you find any type of grammatical error please let me know. Also, I did my best to draw the concept art, but still, in my opinion, it is very bad. But, you can't judge any type of submission by design, but with their mechanics and Gimmicks (at least in my opinion). Of course it helps to give the viewer a picture of the creature itself so it is very important piece of the submission, that's why I did that "master piece". ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Hi! This is my first time submiting a creature concept, so I hope that you like it! ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Dossier Information Commun name: Edmontosaurus Species: Edmontosaurus incuruptus Time: Late Cretacic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Aggresive Wild "I covered a very good chunk of the Wastelands, but I didn't see one single time that this massive creatures weren't alongside some type of corrupted creature, and sometimes, various types of them. They weren't attacking or intimidating each other. I think that they have a symbiotic relationship, like Carnotaurus and Yutyranus have." "Even though it is obviously a herbivore, doe to its herbivore like atonomy, I didn't saw a single speciemen feeding of berries or plants or even drinking water. This obviously happens because of the lack of food and water that the Wastelands have to offer." Domesticated "When domesticated, this creatures have two main uses: battling basicly any type of living being and gathering and storing important corrupted resources, and it does those things fantastically. If any survivor as at least one of them, they are prepared to face of basicly every single threat that they come up with, specially Element involved threats, like corrupted animals, doe to its roar that somehow only intimidates the heartless creatures." ------------------------‐---‐-------------- How do they communicate with the Corrupted Creatures? In the first few days of their life as an adult, they don't know how to make any type of contact with the brainless creatures, some weak and/or curious Edmontosaurus even dye trying, but the most patient ones listen to their calls and cries of the corrupted animal, and then they mysteriously associatte their noises to cries and roars to what they mean. When they learned how to communicate, the Edmontosaurus slowly approuch the corrupted creatures's packs. While doing so, they start to move their nostrils, to emit copies of noises of the bloodthirsty monsters. The creatures quickly realise that they want to be part of the group, and normaly they let them enter. How do the Edmontosaurus react with Element? Their skin absorbs Element when this substance touches it, so Tek weaponry doesn't affect this creature at all. When absorbed, it is stored in its sail. When their sail Element reservoir space is almost depleting, the Edmontosaurus start to freneticly rub its sail. While doing that, the Element starts to liquidate. After that, it regurgitates it. This Element like substance can be used as a normal Element. The regurgitation process isn't dangerous because of its special enzyme that it produces alongside of its saliva that makes the Edmontosaurus insides invulnerable to the Element effects. How do the Edmontosaurus find food and water in the Wasteland Zone? They don't. When Edmontosaurus are born, the yolk of their egg is so big, that it has nutrients for mouths before it straves to death. This creature doesn't need to live long though, since the most important actions that they need to do in its life is to grow to adulthood and then breed. But when domesticated, this cycle breaks, doe to having acess to food. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- In- Game Overall Description Size (largest specimen) Height: 3 metres or 9 ft Length: 15 metres/49 ft Weigth: 4 metric tons/4.4 short tons Taming Method: Knock-Out Torpor Drop Rate: Average Most of the creatures defend themselfs from the corrupted creatures, and some sucumb from the Element itself, while Edmontosaurus takes advantage of this alien plague. The heartless, bloodthirsty and territorial nature of this creature makes it one of the brutest creature in the Wasteland Zone, feared from almost every animal that steps on its territory. They are so aggressive that they don't even tolerate other Edmontosaurus, but, surprisingly, it helps corrupted creatures when they are hunting and in exchange they will give it protection, even though that it is more than capable of defending themselfs. When a Edmontosaurus is tamed, it stops being friendly to the corrupted creatures, and vice-versa, but still, it can communicate with them. The survivor can use that in its favour. Intimidating the corrupted bodies for a few seconds and then encourage its own creatures to deal with the mighty infected souls. And even out of the corrupted battleground, it's a force to be wrecken with. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Abilities and Saddle Headbutt- Headbuts the foes that are in its front. Doesn't have any secondary effect. Barely affects its stamina. 0.5 second cooldown. Tail Slam- Slams it's tail in the foes that are in its back. Stuns the foe for 0.5 seconds. Drains some of its stamina. 1.5 second cooldown. Stomp- Stomps its foes with their higth limbs, dealing great damage and decreasing the attacked creature's movement speed significantly. It can also inflict little damage to Metal Structures. Drains a significant amount of stamina. 2 second cooldown. Roar- This roar not only makes the surrounding corrupted creatures attack and speed decreased, but it also gives their companions and itself a damage and speed buff while attacking a corrupted creature. The roar's effects lasts for 10 seconds. Drains a significant amount of stamina. 1 second cooldown. The roar effects can't be stacked. Double Element Jet (Saddle Exclusive)- If attacked by a Tek/Element 10 times or after giving it 5 Element to feed, it will be able to activate a Double Element Jet, that can be activated whenever the player pleases, but if used, it needs to do be attacked or feed again. 15 seconds cooldown. Harvests Corrupted Nodule, Corrupt Heart, Element, Element Dust, Element Ore, Element Shard, Fungal Wood, Wood Thatch and Fiber pretty well Corrupted Nodule, Corrupt Heart, Element, Element Dust, Element Ore, Element Shard and Fungal Wood suffer a 50% weigth reduction when they are in its inventory. Corrupt Nodule spoils 2x times slower than being in another creature's inventory. When it's corpse is harvested, it gives Meat, Prime Meat, Hide and when killed it drops an exclusive item, Edmontosaurus Crest. If this item is in the players last slot, wild Edmontosaurus agro range is decreased drasticly. Immune to any Tek/Element related damage If attacked by a Tek/Element 10 times or after giving it 5 Element in theire inventory, it starts to rub its sail in the ground, making it vulnerable to attacks, being impossible to mount and attack. After that, it runs another animation of it regurgitating a Element like substance that can be colected, working as a normal Element. If it has a saddle equiped , it doesn't rub itself in the ground. ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Stats Health- Slightly bigger than the T.Rex's Stamina- A half bigger than the T.Rex's Oxygen- Similar to the Rex's Food- Similar to Rex's Weight- Similar to the Paracetherium's Melee Damage- Slightly smaller than the T.Rex's Movement Speed- Slightly smaller than the Hydration boosted Spinosaur ------------------------‐---‐-------------- Thank you for reading my concept. If you have any idea to make this concept better please let me know. ------------------------‐---‐------------- ------------------------------------------ If you want to know more about the fantastic extinct animal that I inspired for the creature that I created ( I just changed its cientific name and added some interesting characteristics), I have a link for a Wikipedia site rigth here: https://pt.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmontosaurus ------------------------‐---‐----------‐---
  4. Shantungosaurus: Are you tired of slow walking sauropods like the titanosaur or bronto holding your mobile base? Do you want to plough through vegetation like nothing, waddle through water with your base, all while also decimating threats? Look no further than the shantungosaurus! This magnificent beast is of the hadrosaur family and comes from the late cretaceous and grew to a stunning height of 6 meters and reached lengths of 16.6 meters weighing 16 tonnes, that’s the weight of 21 cows! They were also THE largest non-sauropod land creature to ever exist. Their size helped them ward off even the largest threats as near nothing matched its immense size and weight. When provoked they stood on their hind legs and ran surprisingly fast for their body structure. In the wild: In tall forest and jungles, the shantungosaurus can be seen grazing in small herds along with their young, chowing down on berries. The shant takes great care in their young protecting them at all costs. When it sees a carnivore around which could endanger its children, the Shant receives a rivalry buff similar to the trike and goes from passive to territorial, attacking carnivores if they get too close. When attacking they stand on their hind legs delivering decimating stomps and tail swipes using their tail, throwing them back only to charge at them dealing more damage. Taming: When taming its general idea to separate the target tame from the herd or massacre the rest leaving the target alone. The shant itself has thick skin making it hard for most projectiles to pierce dealing massively reduced damage, with one exception, the Ballista turret! Once the bolt is coated with narcotics, the tranq bolt becomes the perfect shant tamer. To most other dinos it will deal a lot more damage than torpor but due to the shants thick skin it deals less damage and so more torpor. However, the shant will only gain torpor when shot in the stomach or underside which is easier to shoot while it is on its hind legs, about to attack leaving only a small window to shoot. The shant will continue attacking both the player and the ballista until it reaches a high enough torpor at which it will run, in situations like this, traps or barriers are very helpful. Once knocked out you will not need you to feed it, simply equip a saddle and there you have your shant. Domesticated: The Shant is an enormous beast rivalling the size of even the giga! With its immense size it harbors a great amount of health and weight also having a 15% overall damage reduction and 40% against projectiles. Its massive muscular tail is used to throw enemies, how far they are thrown is dependent on their drag weight where the less drag weight they have the further they are thrown. The Shant has 2 modes or stances, with different attack sets, Quadruped stance, and Biped stance. The quadruped stance is its default stance withal 4 legs on the ground. The Biped stance increases speed, damage output and attack efficiency i.e., tail swipe throws further, at the cost of higher stamina use. As the shant takes damage and its health drops it damage increases proportionally maxing out at 20% health gaining 2x damage. The shant, having massive muscular legs can carry a enormous amount of weight, giving you the option to equip a platform saddle (190 structure limit, also disables bipedal stance), all while being able to travel at half decent speeds. if you don’t want to sacrifice the bipedal stance and turn the shant into an absolute war beast, you can opt for the tek saddle variant which has multiple turrets and slightly reduces stamina use when attacking and traveling. If there is ever any trees or vegetation in the way, simply sprint into them to send them falling. Abilities summary (tamed): · Immense health plus damage reduction · Extra projectile damage reduction · Throwing tail swipe (based on drag weight) · Quadrupedal / Bipedal stance (no platform saddle) · Extra damage the lower the health · Large platform saddle · War tek saddle · Water wading/travel Attacks: Change stance : left ctrl Quadrupedal Stance: 1) Left click = Headbutt: a standard attack that does decent damage and slight knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate tail swipe and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing call, purely aesthetic 5) X = stomp: a slightly heavier hitting attack that has no knockback. Collects wood and berries in a radius around the dino. Bipedal Stance: 1) Left click = Claw swipe: a standard attack that does good damage with no knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate tail swipe and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing, purely aesthetic 5) X = Tail Slam: an extremely powerful attack that breaks opponents’ bones and stuns for a short period of time, it sets the dino back to quadruped stance and has a large cooldown, Sorry for no artwork, but here are some images of the shant itself!
  5. The comfort of your base everywhere ! Advanced survivors need advanced dinos, get yourself a living hydro power plant : the Aquilarhinus. Main paleoarts : ICRA Art Additional "art" : little old me NEVER RUN OUT OF ENERGY On an archipelago like The Center, water is everywhere. Even on land ! It's an underrated resource in itself, found not just in the ocean but also in its many jungles, large swamps, and glorious waterfalls. Take advantage of the setting of the map, and turn water into a renewable source of energy for your base, your camp, your trap or your FOB ! Look below for a breakdown of its abilities ! The Aquilarhinus is the one of the few large creatures spawning on beaches. It stays where the water is ! It favors warmer climates but can be found occasionally on the beaches of colder areas. With the Aquilarhinus, you don't live where your generator is : the generator lives with you. Access to water is, ideally, natural sources of water (ocean, lake, river, etc.), which will be sustainable as long as the Aquilarhinus is kept safe. But ! It can also be filled water containers in its inventory, though that will require constant monitoring. The engram for its saddle is unlocked late in the game, because otherwise, a wireless gasoline generator would be way too OP ! The Aquilarhinus' main attack depends on whether its saddle is "switched on" : The Aquilarhinus comes with a personality quirk : it behaves differently depending on the night/day cycle ! The taming methods for the Aquilarhinus are not very complicated, but there are two of them and they yield different results. Like the Chalicotherium's, the passive tame of the Aquilarhinus can never be ruined. We have enough problems as it is. Lastly, the Aquilarhinus has a gathering ability that lets it dig the soil on any map, and find mushrooms there ! The foraging ability is slightly less convenient than harvesting, because you can do it anywhere, even if no mushrooms assets are around. But it guarantees access to mushrooms wherever you are, and even some chance of finding chitin. This will be useful in case the remaster doesn't bring DLC resources to The Center. And, well, people transfer maps, anyway. Why you should vote for the Aquilarhinus - Hadrosaurs are cool ! And ASA could use more creatures that are not badass killers, for a change. This is my contribution to that effort - Day/night behavior and TWO taming methods, for more immersive gameplay - Use water access and/or water containers for a brand new purpose - Find mushrooms and small amounts of chitin by foraging anywhere - New electricity-based attack : the electrical pushback ! - The mobile generator expands nomadic gameplay and/or raids PS : having two different ideas for The Center, a map I like very much but in dire need of a TLC, I decided to submit two creatures this time. I thought it'd be fun to be in a competition with myself, see what people respond to. Please also check out the Sinopterus 🥰
  6. Good afternoon, survivors! After being stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. May I present the wonderful, splendid looking and immaculately moisturized hadrosaur.. THE ANATOSAURUS! The Hadrosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that I hold close to my heart, and as an enjoyer of older depictions of these animals I thought that ARK could really do with another duckbill in its roster - and especially one with a twist like this.. Dossier Common Name: Anatosaurus Species: Anatosaurus hiruphagus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral (Aggressive towards bug repellant) Wild An oddity amongst its relatives ornithopods. They are native to the steamy swamps of The Center’s ring and possess an amphibious lifestyle, spending their days happily grazing upon aquatic vegetation and occasionally dousing their slimy bodies in mud to protect against the harsh sun. Coincidentally this behavior also acts as a form of medication, covering over open wounds and cleaning them of debris. This however is largely irrelevant, as at full maturity an Anatosaurus is too large to fall prey to predators with the exception of a lucky Sarcosuchus. Herds of Anatosaurus will often slumber peacefully upon riverbanks, their unique odor attracting droves of flies and other nasty insects. It is to be noted however that whilst a predominantly herbivorous creature an Anatosaur will never pass down an opportunity to devour its favourite treat, leeches - a craving that swamp dwelling survivors have learned to use in their favor. Domesticated Due to their apparent disdain of bug-repelling gel, the act of taming an Anatosaurus is one fit for only the most daring of survivors. These strengthened few have been documented allowing leeches to suck onto them and then wading around until one of the hadrosaurs is drawn to the scent. With one of the parasites latched onto their body the survivor will find soon themselves in the clutches of a hungry hadrosaur, eager to lap down their offering. It is a lengthy process, but by no means is it worthless. Once tamed, Anatosaurus can make for robust beasts of burden within the territory of a developing tribe. Their use as a mount both above and below the water allows them to be utilized in a variety of tasks, namely aqueous foraging and exploration. Whilst not impeccably fast nor strong the hadrosaurs are capable of dealing with a variety of threats by either being steered by their jockey to fight, or to simply flee into the nearest lake or river and make an escape. However the most notable service an Anatosaurus can provide is, oddly enough, its viscous saliva, the production of which can be manipulated upon the animal's consumption of silica pearls. This fluid can, in moderation, be used as a stand in for leech blood in the production of the lesser antidote - an item of high demand in populous areas. Due to the potential obscurity of the ingame dossier, I feel it is best to formally chronicle Anatosaurus' taming method and usage here. TAMING Not unlike recent additions to the game the method of taming an Anatosaurus is quite different than your standard "knock-out-and -feed" creature. The way the player goes about obtaining this buffalo-like beast is quite engaging, as it requires a fairly coordinated plan as to not perish in the swamp's murky waters. Anatosaurus is by default a neutral creature, however in the presence of a player wearing bug repellant it will quickly grow to become hostile. This is because in order to gain its trust, you must feed the hadrosaur its favourite treat - the disgusting leeches - and to do so you must let the parasites latch onto you. With a leech (or multiple) on you, any Anatosaurus within a certain vicinity will grow attracted and make their way over. They will then reach forward and pick up the player and pluck the leech(es) off of you, before dropping you to the ground and carrying on. The more leeches on you, the more the taming bar increases, and proportionally as does the cooldown between feedings. Similar to other passive tames if the hadrosaur happens to take any creature or player induced damage then the bar will reset, however their large size does make it so that usual swamp life such as Titanoboa and Kaprosuchus rarely bother going after them. They will be attracted to you, though.. STATISTICS Since it is ultimately the devs' decision in case I hit a stroke of luck and get voted through I will not be going over specifics in stats for the Anatosaurus. I will provide a rough estimation made by my friend for it's base stats and spawn rates however, but take this with a grain of salt. (Stats at Level 1) Health - 500 Stamina - 200 Oxygen - 400 Food - 2500 Weight - 300 (Spawns) Only in swamps with a rate of 1 every 40 minutes. Doesn't get targetted by swamp animals with the exception of Sarcos but will be attacked by other non-swamp life upon getting close to them. USAGE Anato is all around a fairly decent mount that will serve a middle game tribe quite well in the exploration department. Its running speed is slightly slower than fellow ornithopod Iguanodon, however it burns through stamina much quicker. In the water however the Anatosaurus is capable of swimming around as fast as the Baryonyx, and its stamina consumption is decreased immensely. As for combat, it is the epitome of average. If need be an Anato can defend itself from smaller threats and is by no means defenseless, but when it comes to a pack of Allos or other larger theropod it is best to steer clear. It is because of this reason that it is advisable to stick within a brisk sprint to a water source to make an escape if nescessary. Anato would also possess two mouse abilities; a simple arm swipe tied to LMB, and a pick up for RMB. Now, onto Anatosaurus' main three abilities; the serendipitous slobber, carrying and its skin care rituals. MUD BATH Being an amphibious creature it made sense to give this Anato the ability to coat itself in wet sediment to give itself the aptly named 'Mud' buff. Preferably requiring you to be standing on ground close to water, an Anatosaurus can be whistled to give itself a luxurious dousing of mud that will temporarily grant it a 50% resistance to bleed as well as increased healing. The buff will last around 5 minutes at most and have a 10 minute cooldown in order to even it out. This ability will give it just that little bit more protection out in the field, plus you cannot lie that it fits the whole rompin' stompin' aura that this hadrosaur emits. When mounted this ability can be activated with at default the C key, and will grant the player a temporary heat resistance buff - the perfect dino to cool down on a hot summers' day! One thing to be noted however is that this mud coating will wear off as soon as you enter water. This is to encourage land exploration with the buff active. ANTIDOTAL SALIVA Have you ever logged in to a server only to find the spawn zones plagued with beach bobs spreading Swamp Fever to every last person who enters? Ever wished that there was a way to make the tedious process that comes with making the antidote.. A little less so? Well, those days are no more with a tamed Anatosaurus in your tribe! Due to living in one of the most revolting places known to man the Anatosaurus has grown unbothered with the mere concept of infections, and its craving for leeches has made it immune to the nasty pathogens found in the parasites' systems. It is because of this that the hadrosaur is a living cure for the scourge of Swamp Fever. It's bodily fluids are revered by tribes due to their medicinal properties, and its saliva in particular, which can be harvested from a tamed Anato's inventory roughly 10 seconds after feeding it a proportional number of silica pearls, which is placed in the hotbar and fed with "E". The cooldown is short, about 30 seconds. It is to be noted that high level Anatos require more pearls whilst low levels require less, so fairly standard. This saliva can be used as a substitute for leech blood in the recipe of lesser antidote vials, making the Anatosaurus an impeccably useful tame even long after its days of exploration are over in an apex level tribe. CARRYING Tying in to its use as an exploration mount the Anatosaurus possesses the charming ability to pick up smaller creatures and even certain structures in its webbed hands and bring them along on your escapades! Of course there is a limit for both, with the largest creature able to be carried being the player, and for structures it is the small item box. This means that the Anato would be useful as a means to set up temporary camps along your routes, or even assist in the moving of small tames and storage from one base spot to another. Whilst (hopefully) self explanatory, I thought I'd disclose the fact that when holding an object/creature, the Anatosaurus will not be able to use its LMB swipe attack. THANK YOU FOR READING! I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur!
  7. The Hadrosaur family is a very underrated family with many knowing only of the Parasaur or iguanadon, so ive wanted to bring my own hadrosaur into the new submissions. I, like many others, have struggled to portray ideas due to lack of artistic skill that many other submissions have, and because of this many great ideas are not noticed at first, so don’t always just look at the main post, hidden gems could be hidden right below and should be considered more by the community. I love the rocky look of the titanosaur and would also like to see it on this massive beast as well, I would also like a more significant beak, the look that the Isle gave it is absolutely amazing, really hope that wildcard don’t disappoint. I am fully not expecting any of these ideas to go into the game. Good luck to all the other submissions, dinos and ideas! Shantungosaurus: The Shantungosaurus was a large hadrosaur from the late cretaceous period, it weighed around 16 metric tons reaching heights of 6 meters and reaching lengths of 16.6 meters, dwarfing most therapods like the T-rex, and even some sauropods, their size isn’t one to be taken lightly. Most creatures of its time would not dare touch the shant as they stood no chance to it immense size and weight, they were also very fast for their size. In the wild: The Shant can be seen towering over the large Jungles of the centre, surrounded by luscious greenery and animals. Its immense size wards off most predators creating a somewhat safe haven for the more docile creatures around, in return they protect the Shant in the case of any threats. When it sees a carnivore around which could endanger its followers, the Shant receives a rivalry buff similar to the trike. When provoked, the followers will all begin to attack to protect the Shant, this also includes flyers that can get you from the air. Taming: To tame, you must first kill all of the surrounding dinos, giving clear access to the Shant itself however most projectiles will not affect the giant beast, in this case the ballista turret works best, in it a tranq spear bolt. Once the Shant begins taking damage, it will attack back, standing on its hind legs delivering super damaging stomps, during which, docile creates who wander into the battle will join the Shant and attack. Its always best to trap the Shant before taming as once it gets high on torpor it will run away , making it harder to shoot with the ballista, once knocked out it will not need food to tame, just equip a saddle, similar to the titanosaur. Domesticated: The Shant is an enormous beast rivalling the size of even the giga! With its immense size it harbors a great amount of health and weight also having a 15% overall damage reduction and 40% against projectiles. Its massive tail is used to throw enemies, how far they are thrown is dependant on their drag weight where the less drag weight they have the further they are thrown. The Shant has a roar that buffs all tamed dinos attack and defence slightly with a big bonus to herbivores. The Shant has 2 modes or stances, similar to the TLC spino, with different attacks, Quadruped stance and Biped stance. The quadruped stance is its default stance withal 4 legs on the ground and gains the ability to charge. The Biped stance reduces the speed of the dino but increases damage output and attack efficiency i.e., tail swipe throws further , it also gains the Heavy Stomp ability. Attacks Change stance= Z Quadruped stance: 1) Left click = Headbutt: a standard attack that does decent damage and slight knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) Hold Right click = Charge: a short burst of speed that would charge toward a target stunning the target on impact, (with delay to separate stomp and charge) 4) C = roar: a loud bellowing call that gives all nearby tamed dinos a defence buff with a bonus to herbivores 5) X = stomp: a slightly heavier hitting attack that has no knockback. Collects wood and berries in a radius around the dino. Bipedal stance: (+ damage, - speed) 1) Left click = Claw swipe: a standard attack that does good damage with no knockback. Collects thatch and berries. 2) Right click = Tail swipe: a powerful attack that knocks its opponents far (based on drag weight) 3) C = roar: a loud bellowing call that gives all nearby tamed dinos a defence buff with a bonus to herbivores 4) X = Heavy stomp: an extremely powerful attack that breaks opponents’ bones and stuns for a short period of time, it sets the dino back to quadruped stance and has a large cooldown,
  8. Olortitan is a hadrosaur from the late Cretaceous period, and these giant herbivores have made some interesting adaptations to Aberration. With a name meaning titanic swan, they are a valued tame to have and can provide plenty of uses depending on the type of situation you need. Abilities: -Honk: A honk that buffs allied herbivores and debuffs enemy carnivores -Tail swipe: A tail hit that causes stun and knockback -Lighting crest: Commonly found feeding on bioluminescent algae, their crests are capable of lighting up and brightening a large area. This light can help you navigate through the caverns, scare off reapers and nameless, and even overstimulate seekers, forcing them to leave you alone. -Stomp: A devastating and crushing stomp that can cripple attackers -Swimming: With a name meaning titanic swan, they are naturally great swimmers. Size and appearance: Slender and elegant in appearance, these beasts are just as big as mammoths. Far outsizing the Ark's other hadrosaurs, they are formidable creatures. Saddle unlock: Level 65 Taming method: Knockout using catapults.
  9. Name: Corythosaurus Temporal appearance: Late Cretaceous Nutrition: Herbivore Habitat: North America Aggressiveness: Neutral (As long as you're not too close to the herd) WILD: I was told that the Corythosaurus (Corytho) is mainly in herds that only roam in large areas. As soon as an enemy is nearby, the Corytho decides to protect his flock as well as his brood. That too until the bitter end. However, it is not known that he attacks any other animals for no reason. To signal to the other Corythos that an enemy is nearby, he makes a loud scream. In addition, someone told me that the Coryrthos are able to build nests in which the eggs are hatched. TAMING: Taming a Corytho is not easy. First of all, you have to wait for a pack to be attacked by an enemy and have to survive. Once that's the case, you'll have to help the Corythos defeat the enemy. BUT BEWARE!!! If you get too close to the Corythos, they will start to see you as an enemy. To prevent this, you should try firearms. Once the enemy has died with your help, the Corythos will give you some confidence. However, this trust is not enough to fully approach the herd. To achieve this, you must continue to kill enemies who want to attack the herd. As soon as you get too close to the herd, this advance will be lost and you will be attacked. If you have managed to gain the full trust of the herd, the herd will allow you to claim one of the babies, as they believe that you can protect the baby well. All you have to do is raise it like a normal baby. Domesticated: Herd bonus: As soon as at least 2 Corythos are together, they will receive a herd bonus. This provides a bonus to health, damage, and resistance to the Yuty's fear buff and the Microraptor/Purlovia buff. This health and damage bonus is amplified the more Corythos are together. In general: The Corytho is able to run very fast with a very large stamina. While his life is comparatively high for his size, his damage is relatively average. Its high weight capacity, also makes it ideal as a construction dino. The Corytho has a weight reduction for: -Wood -Thatch -Berries -Hide -Structures Females: Female corythos are able to act as an efficient nanny. This means that babies who are raised by a Corytho nanny are not only fed and shaped, but the Corytho nanny would give everything to protect the babies. In addition, it gives the babies (ONLY the babies) a buff (motherly love), which causes the babies to consume less food and are shaped twice as fast (possibly more efficiently). Males: Males are good at defending the base. As soon as "Groupleader" (or something similar) is activated in the male's radial menu, the male is able to alert his own tamed dinos, which are standing within a certain radius, to dangers with a scream and give them a buff "For the tribe", which gives them a health and damage bonus to fight the enemy. The male can give this buff not only in the base, but also on the go when dinos are within range. Someone told me that the male Corytho is also suitable for bosses. Controls: left-click: simple attack with the beak right-click: strong attack with the fingers c (only for males): "For the tribe" buff
  10. Have you ever lost you dino in the woods? Can't you find them? Have you ever dropped your shoulder buddy somewhere, and never seen them again? Or have you struggled finding this wild creature to tame, but whithout any success? Well, worry no more! Muttaburrasaurus, the living tracker, is here to help you! DESCRIPTION: Muttaburrasaurus langdoni is a hadrosaurid found in Australia in 1963. It lived during the mid cretaceous and had a size of 8 meters. It walked on two feet. The most different feature of this animal was the big nasal bone on its head, which was most likely for producing sound or for mating. DOSSIER WILD: Although Muttaburrasaurus has a size bigger that Iguanodon and Parasaurolophus, it is not commonly a very brave creature. In fact, it is a little bit shy, and it runs away when watching predators even as small as a raptor. Not even humans can approach to it without scaring them. It constantly gathers in small groups of three individuals, but survivors have observed it in groups of five. They are passive creatures that look for food on the ground, and go to the lakes and rivers to drink water. However, it is always with its pack. Such a sociable and shy animal at the same time! DOMESTICATED: Muttaburrasaurus is a completely social animal. It will not trust you, unless all of them do. This animals can be tamed passively, but you have to approach very slowly (unless you want to scare them). In order to get them to trust you, you have to feed the three of them (unless they are five, where you can just tame two). If you do not feed them all, then they will start to loose their trust, and they will finally run away. Once tamed, these dinosaurs have a lot of uses. It seems that survivors ride them to find lost dinosaurs, because of the unique ability of Mutaburrasaurus to find dinosaurs through its roar. Some even use them to look for wild dinos, which they want to tame. It looks very effective, because the more of them you tame, the more area they can cover in searching. But beware! The sound of Muttaburrasaurs seems to attract carnivores when used too repeatedly, so measure your calls with your friends! SPAWNING Muttaburrasaurus will spawn in groups o three individuals, with the exception of packs of five, that have >20% of chance of appearing. They will spawn near rivers, where they will be calmly feeding themselves unless a carnivore approaches to make them flee. TAMING Muttaburrasaurus will have a passive taming. In order to approach to them, the survivor must be crouched down. Then, they must feed the three of them in the case of packs of three, or two in the case of the packs of five. After 50%, the survivor can get up. If they do not feed the required ammount, the taming bar will lower, until it reaches 0%, when the whole pack will run away. ABILITIES Muttaburrasaurus are rideable, will have the ability to search for dinos that have been lost, or for wild dinos around it. You can configure it to look for tamed dinos or for wild dinos. When right click is touched, it will produce a sound that will place a small label on top of the dinos that are selected. This label will say the name and level of the dinos found. When more tamed Muttaburrasaurus are near, they will all produce the sound, increasing the area by 10% with each new individual of the pack. In addition, to level this dino's weakness, they will have a pack buff that will increase their melee atack by 20% with each new individual in the pack, making them effective to use as bodyguards. Some art of Muttaburrasaurus (credits to the creators of the images): (Image by Johan Egerkrangs) (Muttaburrasaurus Interpretation Centre) I hope you like Muttaburrasaurus! I've always had a problem to find my dinos when I die, and I thought of this as a solution. I hope that if you have the same problem, you can benefit from this! Ragnarok is a big and vast map where creatures can be lost, but with a little bit of luck, they will no more! 11. Good afternoon, survivors! After stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. This submission WILL recieve minor updates in the coming days, but I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur!
  12. General description: The Ouranosaurus is a relatively large hadrosaur which possesses a large sail. Ouranosaurus uses its sail to cool itself down in the desert and to intimidate predators, making medium sized carnivores such as Carnotaurus and dire wolves leave the Ouranosaurus alone. Ouranosaurus is well adapted to the harsh desert climate. The Ouranosaurus is the largest hadrosaur species seen on the ARKs and one of the largest herbivorous dinosaurs in the deserts. The Ouranosaurus is larger than the Morellatops and may even be larger (including its sail) than a diplodocus. These dinosaurs are Passive in nature and moves in herds, while there are no common threats except for Wyverns, these creatures usually run than fight, and the larger a predator is than it, the more likely it is to run away. There are two ways to tame an Ouranosaurus, the first one is via the regular torpor method, however it will be quite challenging as an Ouranosaurus requires a lot of tranqs to be knocked out, a lot of narcotics are expected to be used as well as it drains as fast as a Giganotosaurus does. There is also via a taming method akin to the method you use to tame an Equus, this method is significantly better. The Ouranosaurus spawns in the most hostile areas of Scorched Earth, and can rarely be found roaming the mountains and the more friendlier areas of the map. While roaming, you can occasionally hear these animals hauntingly sing, it is not very common to hear them do that but it will significantly help you find these rare animals. A tamed Ouranosaurus accelerates, and consumes little stamina while running. It is also pretty fast for its size but it's turning radius is not that forgiving, though it is of course better than a Rex'. Abilities: Because of its sail, it gives a passive ability to players nearby and helps give adequate temperature for eggs. The Passive buff also makes the player's water drain slower. The Passive buff amplifies when the Ouranosaurus is told to sit down, it sitting down will provide extra protection against desert storms and heatstrokes, it will also passively generate "Super Stamina". An Ouranosaurus' "Super stamina" is a new unique stat and serves as a "punishment-free" currency for the Ourano's singing ability. While the Ourano's singing ability does consume stamina (more on that in the attack segment), Super Stamina serves as stamina which goes over the max amount of stamina the creature currently has, and will be displayed as a dark blue overlay over the stamina icon in Ourano's HUD when mounted. Super Stamina is obtained through the Sail Shield ability or passively by letting the Ourano sit down (note that the Passive alternative of getting Super Stamina will only max. fill up by 15%) Attacks: LMB - Bite and stomp (alternates between these two) RMB - Tackle. (Pressing RMB without absorbing damage via Sail Shield will only make the tackle attack serve as a regular attack, Sail Shield is not required for the Tackle attack, read more below how the Sail Shield "attack" works) C - Sail shield. The Ouranosaurus will turn around 90 degrees to show its body while hiding its face, it will receive 70% less damage and absorb some of the damage to fill Super Stamina. After absorbing damage and converting it to Super Stamina, you can either add the converted damage to fill the Super Stamina meter, this will also make the Ourano more armored towards damage for a while, and will also amplify its singing abilities due to it filling up Super Stamina, or you can click on RMB after pressing C (you got 2 seconds on you after the meter has been filled) to make the tackle deal more damage and knockback to the target (if some damage has been absorbed). This ability has a long cooldown do it's important to time the ability correctly to achieve its full potential. This ability will make a meter to appear on the top of the screen to show how much damage has been absorbed. The Ouranosaurus' Sail will show how much damage has been absorbed by checking how much of the sails color has changed. If the Sail Shield's meter is full and used with the Tackle attack, the Tackle will deal 2.5x more damage while dealing great amount of knockback and a "limped" debuff to the victim which will make it 60% slower. Only a small amount of Super Stamina will be gained (~5%) and some Stamina will be lost. If you want to gain Super Stamina, you will have to wait 2 seconds until you see that "dark blue" Stamina has been added, or look at the top of the screen to see a notification to tell you that Super Stamina has been added. X- Sing. There are 2 "songs" the Ouranosaurus can sing. (These can be toggled with left CTRL). You will be required to hold X to increase the buff of the song's effectiveness, in contrast to the Yuty's spam roar stack buff. A lot of stamina is needed for singing, and its highly preferred if Super Stamina is used as it will give the singing buffs bonuses (clarification: song with regular stamina 10% protection, with Super stamina 15% protection, this is only an example), and a chance for the Ouranosaurus to escape if needed as regular stamina won't be consumed. Song of Harmony- Song of Harmony will make tames more resistant to damage and be resistant to DoT attacks, not including fire and will also make creatures more resistant to torpor attacks. (Riders riding tames will not be able to be picked up from their mounts when the Song of Harmony buff is activated, however if the dino is small enough for the flyer or carrier, it will pick up the mount instead). Song of Rage- Song of rage will slightly increase speed for tames in the area and will also be able to give a slight damage bonus, around 5%. A song's buff will last during the duration of an Ouranosaurus' "singing session", after the Ouranosaurus has finished singing or stops, a song's buff will last for 10 seconds. If not more, depending how balanced this is. The singing buff radius is pretty large, leaving the singing buff area, which will be highlighted in a colored circle in a 30 meter radius (if not more) around the Ourano, will make the buff deactivate 2x faster than if you would remain in the area of effect. With the help of War drums, it will effectively increase the Ouranosaurus' area of effect and make the Ourano drain less off of its stamina while singing. Singing has a downside where the Ouranosaurus is very vulnerable, as it will take more damage when singing if someone or something attacks it. The ourano can walk at around 80% of its speed while it's singing, but it can't run. Song's cannot be stacked nor amplified, meaning that only one Ouranosaurus is needed for. Potential TEK saddle: The Ourano's TEK saddle would completely shield the Ourano during the C attack, instead of making it 70% resistant, it would with an activated TEK saddle 100% armored. The area of effect will be significantly larger because of the TEK saddle having speakers or whatever. With a fully charged tackle attack, the Ourano will release a sonic sound wave which will knock creatures 3 times greater than a normal fully charged Tackle. Got no other images to show, this one perfectly illustrates how I imagine it. However, to ARKify it a little, a more prominent dewlap, a more "fleshy" face, not skinwrapped, and vibrant colors on the sail are stuff that would look good for the Ourano. Also please come up with any suggestions, I'm kind of new to this.
