Lessemsaurus, the OSD Defender (Now with dossier example)
ElDragothe1st posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Hello, Ark Community. This is my first creature submission, based on the Ledumahadi from the Scorched vote, so credit to Jade_317 for inspiration. IF you have feedback or suggestions, please feel free to share them so I can perfect this submission. Im currently working on typing out a mock up dossier, so i will update this in a few days with one. In the Wild: Lessemsaurus can be found spawning out in the wastelands of Extinction. They spawn in herds together ranging from three to five members. They will slowly wander all throughout the wastes in search of large patches of what grass is left. While leaving herbivores alone, they will ruthlessly attack any carnivore or corrupted creature that gets near them, including your tames. Appearance: Size wise, the Lessemsaurus was not much taller than a human, but could be upsized in Ark to roughly the size of a stego, maybe a bit larger. It would also have more pronounced claws than its prehistoric counterpart to reflect its more hostile nature. To add cool corrupted elements to them, corruption could be running down their neck and stomach, with growths around their front legs as well. Saddle: The Lessemsaurus would have a unique saddle, reinforcing its claws with meta and adding metal plating along its neck, as well as saddlebags on its sides. With a saddle equipped, their claw attack would be able to do even more damage, as well as acting as good harvesting tools, with the saddle having a durability to balance it out. With the saddlebags, they will have an additional 25% weight reduction to wood and stone. Gathering: The Lessemsaurus would be able to gather wood, crystalized sap, gems, corrupt nodules, meat, and hide with its claw attack, being at bare minimum as effective as metal tools. It would also be able to gather stone, gems, crystal, and metal with its neck swipe, also being at bare minimum as effective as a metal pick. Taming: As hostile as the Lessemsaurus may seem, taming them is not too hard as long as you have the right supplies. To tame a Lessemsaurus, you need to stealthily and feed it re-fretilizer. THis will cause the Lessemsaurus to regurgitate a spoiled meat slurry in its stomach. You may now passively feed it crops, with veggie cake. A warning though, as its rotten vomit will attract carnivores to the area, which you will have to protect them from. Once one member of the herd is tamed, it would cost more resources to tame each other member, scaling with how many have been tamed. Abilities: Meat Consumption: As the Lessemsaurus was an herbivore in reality, it had only adapted to eating plants. Since the wastelands of Extinction dont have enough vegetation to support such large creatures on its own, they have adapted further. The Lessemsaurus of extinction are able to eat meat like a carnivore could, but have to swallow stones with the meat in order to pro[erly digest it. Even then, not all of it will digest, leaving behind a rotten meat paste that can be taken from its inventory and used as a more effective base for narcotics. Regurgitate: If a Lessemsaurus has rotten meat slurry in its inventory, you will be able to make it regurgitate it, acting like a lure similar to honey for carnivores. It would be used to bait traps for dangerous foes, or as a brief distraction during OSDs. Gallop: The Lessemsaurus would be able to have a charging run while on all fours, starting off slow and picking up speed the longer it runs, similar to the andrewsarchus, able to traverse the wastelands fast while having a good weight. Herd Buff: Similar to the buff that swarms of companies get, Lessemsaurus will gain a buff for each member in its herd, stacking up to a total of 5 members. For each member of the herd, the Lessemsaurus will get a bonus in attack speed, maxing out at an additional 50%, and increased damage, maxing out at close to double. Neck Swipe: The Lessemsaurus will swing its neck at its foes like a club, doing decent damage and a good bit of knockback, though having a slow attack speed with it. This attack is also able to break and harvest stone and crystals. Stance change: Like the Spinosaurus, the Lessemsaurus can rear up on its hind legs, Unlike the Spino, it can not stay on its hind legs for long before returning to all fours. IT is also much slower on its hind legs, only able to slowly lumber forward while in its special stance. Claw swipe: While reared up on its hind legs, the Lessemsaurus will be able to swipe at creatures with the small yet sharp claws on its front legs. While not doing as much damage as the neck swipe, it will be able to attack faster with its claws. Ultimate attack: While using its claw attack, the Lessemsaurus will build up a special meter like the shadowmane. When the meter fills up, it will be able to launch its special attack, using its claws and weight to bring its claws down the sides of its foe, dealing loads of damage and forcing it out of its special stance. If the stance ends before the bar fills or before the ultimate is used, the bar will reset to zero upon returning to all fours. Utilities: I had two things in mind while working on this concept. One was that this creature could be a faster moving resource gatherer, while not being as good a gatherer as a more dedicated one, while also being able to carry a decent bit of resources and collect ones unique to Extinction. The other thing this creature was built to do was to be a good creature to use for OSDs, given its general tankiness as a large-ish creature and damage buffs and capabilities. The Octo Friend! Octavius Socrates [Proteroctopus ribeti]
FlashGuard posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Proteroctopus ribeti Is from the Jurassic period. So after the last vote i have decided to make my own creature. The idea behind it is that is that i would like to create something that will be useful as well as fun! While this dino may have a few more features than most it is a well needed water dino. As the biome needs more attention and this will make people want to DIVE IN! Please leave any comments or suggestions below and please make them constructive! Size: Like most Cephalopods Females are larger than their male counterparts. The Female will be ridable and a bit larger than the Megalodon. While the male will be around a 3rd of that size. Males will be ridable but not able to grapple most sea creatures due to size. MOVES: Attack: Left click will allow you to do a normal attack using all of the tentacles. Harvest: Right click will allow you to harvest nodes. Grab Attack: By pressing C you will be able to grab and immobilize creatures underwater. Perhaps by using stamina and/or playing a short minigame to succeed. This will allow you to tame creatures underwater in a passive way. However this will be ineffective for taming larger dino's like a Tusoteuthis or a Mosasaur. While grappled you can safely dismount and tranq the dino! Dash: By pressing X you can dash in the water allowing the tentacles to slam together behind you. creating a small amount of bubbles as well as forcing you forward at a greater speed! Ink Jet: By pressing Ctrl + C you can shoot a jet of ink temporarily stunning a creature and allowing you to escape! ABILITIES: Gathering: Females only After killing and eating a crustacean (The Octavius treat of choice) you can activate its gathering bonus. This will last for 10 Minutes at which time you will need to find a new treat. The first main benefit for the Octavius is its ability to harvest underwater. While using a saddle it adds small linked chains or metal strips along the tentacles. This allows the Octavius to squeeze underwater nodes harder making them crumble and easier to gather. Granting a %20 boost to resources gathered in this way. Resourses that can be gathered this way are Oil, Metal, Stone and Obsidian. The second main ability of the Octavius is the ability to gather Pearls. Due to its many arms it allows it to take great care when gathering pearls and faster at that. This allows a 20% Boost to the amount of pearls gathered gathered. As well as gathering Chitin from underwater crustaceans. This However does not effect black pearls found naturally. Passives: Paternal Instincts The female Octavius is able to nurture its young in the water and usually dies when does so in the wild. However when domesticated the paternal side of the Octavius helps it to be a great mother. Allowing it to feed and imprint on all underwater dinos in its area. I does require more food to do this as it takes a lot of effort to keep the babies happy. While in this state the Octavius will also use its ink attack to deter and fend off predators. To activate this you will need to have the Octavius Near at least one baby and select "Nurture" option in its spin wheel. Once active the Octavius will not allow you to ride it and will be fully focused on its duties. Deep Sea Oil: The Octavius has a really handy ability. It creates "Deep Sea Oil" This oil when placed with pearls in its inventory will allow the oil to seep into the pearls. This will turn them into "Black Sea Pearls" and will allow you to use them in place of Black pearls. However you will need to create two times the normal amount of Black Sea Pearls as needed by normal black pearls. This can be done with the Male or Female Octavius. Usually this is the preferred job of the male Octavius though because if moved this will halt the production of the Deep Sea Pearls. Octavius are immune to eels and jellyfish. However this comes at a cost. If the Octavius is hit by either it will excite the nerves controlling its Chromatophores. This will cause the Octavius to become a bright blue color which for a short time will cause it to attract other sea creatures. During this time it is recommended that you flee with the ink ability. TAMING: Taming the Octavius is fairly straight forward. It is a passive tame. You will need to tame a Trilobite and find an Wild Octavius (usually on the sea floor imitating a rock) You will then have to provide the Octavius its most favorite treat! It will come out of hiding and feed! Once it has been fed enough it will tame. This process is the same for both male and female. During this time you will need to protect it from wild dinos. BREEDING: Breeding the Octavius is a bit more complicated. Underwater you will need to activate breeding. After activating the event the Octavius will cuddle and interweave their tentacles. Then after the female will take on the appearance of a stone while it nurses its younglings. However due to the size of the Octavius they do not have many babies like they would in the wild. During this time the mother will not move and will need to be fed by a person to keep its food stable. It will eat more than normal and will not gather food itself. If its food reaches zero the mother will start to turn a white color and loose health. This will be your warning to feed it fast. If you fail to do so it will die along with the babies. You can feed the mother with trough. But it will only do so at half the rate. slowing down the food loss but not stopping it. WILD: Octavius are passive in the wild and will not attack unless provoked. usually they will ink and run.-

Hello Survivors, Today I would like to introduce to you the new potential Gathering King, The Stegouros. The Stegouros was a Parankylosaur, a group of Basal Ankylosaurs present in Cretaceous South America, Antarctica and Australia, which also included Antarctopelta and Kinbarrasaurus. Stegouros was the smallest in the group so hopefully Wildcard can use some creative liberty to size up the creature to make it rideable. Now to get to the more interesting part, Stegouros’ main defining feature is the tail which featured osteoderms which made the tail look like the Mesoamerican Macuahuitl, which the tail was named after. Some suggested features that could make the Stegouros a beneficial creature to add to the game is it could be great for gathering and having weight reductions on a large amount of materials and even be the first creature to have a weight reduction on resources such as flint and hide. With the uniquely shaped tail the Stegouros could be capable of gathering materials such as wood, thatch, charcoal, stone, clay, flint, berries, fiber, cactus sap, chitin, keratin, hide, pelt, meat(all kinds), crystal, gems, salt, sulfur, metal, obsidian, oil, element(shard, dust&ore), organic polymer, rare flowers and mushrooms, and even angler gel and bio toxin, though I wouldn’t recommend taking too deep into ocean. While being able to harvest all these resources it can have a gathering rate on par or slightly less effective than the top gatherers of that resource. To keep up with the title of Gathering King, the Stegouros could also have weight reductions on materials such as wood, thatch, charcoal, stone, flint, hide, pelt, chitin, keratin, crystal, metal, obsidian, oil, and element(shard, dust and ore). Just like the gathering efficiency the weight reductions could either be on par or slightly less than the top gatherers of that resource. I hoped to present a gathering creature that would be excellent in mid game or maybe even late game if implemented well. I know having gathering capabilities comparable to the best in every category would be a bit too OP and might invalidate some other creatures so what would most likely happen is due to being able to harvest so many resources and having weight reductions is the gathering efficiencies and reductions would be slightly less than the top contenders but this creature would be able to harvest a vast amount more resources while also having weight reductions. This here was my first submission and Ark forums made as I have taken part in previous creature votes and this idea came to me after the Rhyniognatha vote. I hope the idea is liked by lots and makes it far but most of all I hope everyone voted for what they want most in the game. (I do apologize for the more sloppy appearance compared to other submissions as I quickly went through some notes I wrote awhile back after seeing a new submission was announced)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutosaurus Scutosaurus was a one of the largest reptiles during the Permian. It was a hardy animal covered in osteoderms which made it have natural body armor, an effective defense against the predators of its time such as gorgonopsids. It had a large robust digestive system that allowed it to process plant matter efficiently. In game abilities could include natural armor and damage resistance and being able to harvest plants species y seeds efficiently. Other abilities and ideas can be added by fellow survivors in the comment section below. Please feel free to share and upvote so we can get our Walking with Monsters chad into the game.

structure destroyer Uintatherium arietem, the living battle ram
Nomolas posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Hi ! This a repost of my previous suggestion for a new creature in ARK : Uintatherium arietem ! A creature both able in combat and farming, with the powerful ability to damage any structure, that will feel at ease in the semi-deserts of Scorched Earth Species: Uintatherium arietem Time: Early Eocene Diet: Herbivorous Temperament: Short-Tempered Wild: Somewhat looking like a rhino, and with similar character, Uinthatherium arietem is probably the most short-tempered creature on the island. This large herbivore will attack any carnivore in sight and will even trample small peaceful herbivores that would come and invade is personal space, delivering powerful headbutts and goring tusks bites. Domesticated: When domesticated, Uintatherium can prove useful both in combat and for farming. Its ramming ability allows it to stun any creature it runs into as well as damaging any type of structures, especially doors and gates. Such ability also allows it to gather obsidian efficiently, further helped by seemingly not feeling the weight of that material. This powerful ram combined with its resilience makes it a very helpful and versatile mount. Taming this creature might prove difficult though, as one must let it ram into a shield in order to knock it out, which, if not done properly, can lead to a gruesome end. Attacks : - LMB : Headbutt. Harvests flint and obsidian efficiently. Can damage up to metal structure. Deals a small amount of torpor. - RMB : Charging attack. Charges for a limited time with moderate control of direction. Deals important amount of damage and torpor. Increased damage against structures. Can damage all tiers and will immediately destroy anything lower or equal to stone. Stuns creatures. - C : Tusk/Bite attack. Allow for berry and corpse gathering. - Ctrl : Roar. Gives a speed buff to itself and nearby allies. Taming : Immune to normal means of torpor. With shield in hand, wait until it notices you. Stay at a certain distance to allow it to charge. Let it ram into you while blocking with the shield. This will increase it’s torpor. The better the shield the more the torpor dealt. Once it’s knocked out feed it like any herbivore. Probably superior kibble. Abilities : - Torpor and stun immune, small bullet resistance. - Weight reduction for obsidian and flint and really good at harvesting them. - Roar to gain a speed boost. - Saddle has a second seat facing the back of the creature. Wild: Rhinorex Gatherus is one of the weirdest animals I have seen on Scorched Earth, besides all of the deathworms, wyverns, and living rocks . . . but that is not the point, Rhinorex has been seen by multiple different survivors with the Rhinorex possessing different skills such as a more axed shaped tail for cutting wood easier, larger claws for gathering thatch, a club / pickaxe tail for gathering tougher materials, and a sharper beak for shredding fiber off of plants. Rhinorexes are also surprisingly very playful with survivors, running up to them when they spot them and may even trade resources with them that they have gathered. Domesticated Rhinorex, when domesticated are very docile and will make other animals around it feel more comfortable. Rhinorex are very useful for gathering, being able to gather almost anny material very quickly and very well . . . if you get the right variant that is. Rhinorex can gather specific materials very well as long as if it is the specific type to gather those resources so for example a sharp beaked Rhinorex would be very useful gathering fiber, but thatch would be gathered not very well and if it bit into wood, it would hurt the Rhinorex's beak. Taming: Rhinorexes are very picky when it comes to taming them, they require very specific things in order to be befriended. Once given this item they will follow you around curiously and will occasionally want to be played with which requires the survivor to chase them until they can either tag them or the Rhinorex gets bored. Soon if all the steps followedthe Rhinorex will want to stay with the survivor and will be tamed. Taming Foods / Resources: Cactus, Wood, Fiber, Thatch, Stone, Flint, Metal, Wyvern Milk, Trophys Drops, etc. Abilities: Bite: A small damageing bite that can gather berries. Hoof Kick: A front kick that can stun small animals for a short period of time. Back Kick: A back kick that can stun larger animals for a short period. Stuns smaller animals for a longer period of time. Passive Comfort Ability: A small boost in stamina, weight, slower food and water drain, oxygen, and crafting skill that boosts all animals and survivors near it. Spin Attack (Requires Axe / Club tail): A quick tail attack which with the axe tail can cause bleed and with the club tail causes bone break. Clawed: Boosts Hoof Kick damage as well as adding bleeding with the removal of stunning creatures. Fanged: Boosts Bite Damage while adding a small amount of bleed. Axe Tail: Can gather materials such as wood, fungal wood, cactus, etc. Club Tail: Can gather materials such as stone, flintmetal, gems, etc. Clawed: Can gather materials such as , hide, blood, bile, toxin, salt, sand, etc. Fanged: Can gather materials such as fiber, charcoal, silk, wool, chitin keratin, etc.

tek saddle Brontotherium - The Beast of Thunder!
FutureBug96 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Creature info: Brontotherium is a huge rhino-like animal (it's biologically closer to horses) larger than woolly rhino, but smaller than mammoth. It's a late game herbivore made for destroying things, tanking hits and transporting heavy materials. It's also has 2 types of running: Normal run - around the speed of unridden rhino. Charging mode - builds momentum just like ridden rhino, creates a very loud running sound, makes brontotherium unstoppable by rocks, trees and even creatures (that are not immune to knockback). Gives armor piercing to it's attack. It also can instantly destroy stone tier structures, but can't damage higher tiers. Attacks: LMB: Head bump - deals around 50 damage. RMB: Quick rotation - makes brontotherium able to perform quick 180 degree rotation (just like the real world rhinos). C key: switches brontotherium run into charging mode. Ctrl key: Roar - can be used when running, gives a weight reduction and gathering boost to allies. Abilities: PvP oriented: Brontotherium is immune to any form of stun and can't be net when charging. It's also very hard skinned so bullets deal 50% less damage to it. It's also impossible to knock out because of torpor immunity. Can instantly destroy stone tier structures (and lower). Is immune to shadowmane poison. Lightning wyvern's lighning attack deals 50% less damage to it. Due to it's ability to rotate 180 degree (even when charging, however it loses all momentum when doing that) and being immune to stunning and poison, it can counter shadowmane's attacks. It can also have a TEK Saddle with power batteries. When brontotherium is charging (running) it charges the batteries (they use element as a fuel) and when it reaches full momentum it can use LMB attack to release a super charged blast. This super attack destorys every rock and tree around brontotherium and stuns for 5 seconds everything that was hit by the blast. It can also shut down Stryders, TEK generators and everything that requires electricity to run. To recharge the battery, brontotherium just needs to build maximum momentum again. PvE oriented: Brontotherium has a very good weight stat, making it viable as a transportation mount. It's not only fast, but also possesses a 50% weight reduction on some heavy resources (metal, stone, crystal, scrap metal, all the gem types and black pearls). It's very tanky and quite hard hitting creature, so it can be used to hunt alphas and even fight bosses! It's saddle has an armor plating look, to appear more badass. Roar can be used to give a 30 seconds buff that boosts weight reduction on allied dinos (for example argentavis can get +15% reduction on resources, giving in total 65% reduction on metal, crystal etc.). It will also boost the amount of resources that creatures can gather by 15%. Due to it's specialized lips, brontotherium can be enabled to wander around and gather very specific resources from bushes (like rare mushroom, flowers, silk, and even crops! Taming: To tame this massive beast, survivor needs to find it's baby in the wild (they do not grow up until tamed) and separate it from it's parent(s), as baby can only be tamed when it's alone. To tame the baby, survivor needs to protect it from predators, and anything that scares it. Occasionally baby will want some herbivore food (specific berry, crop, sap, or even veggie cake). The taming bar will progress each time a baby is defended and fed. When tamed, baby will start to grow up (it can't be imprinted) until it becomes an adult and can fainally be ridden! I am not the author of any of the images. Feel free to post your ideas/dossier ideas about this creature in the comment.-

Corvus Moriorum - Gifts, Incubator, gatherer
spiritpaw posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
__Dossier__ The Raven of the Arks, this is likely Corvus Moriorum. This species having lived in prehistoric new Zealand. It's much like modern Ravens and crows. Corvus Moriorum is curious and bold on it's own. But dangerous in a flock. A individual will fly up and eat food right out of your hand! But beware of the birds guarding eggs, they are mean as a flying flock of tasmanian devil when disturbed! __wild__ Their nests can be raided for vast amounts of resources much like a Castrorides. The more corvus at a nest, the more of that resource gathered. But beware they target the survivor not the mount! __Taming__ These creatures exclusively eat kibble, like a snail only eats veggie cakes. First you feed the individual Corvus you find by walking up to it and feeding kibble from it's last item slot. Once it's taming increases it calls more nearby Corvus and they start frenzying and mob you stealing it like Itchyornis. __Domesticated__ This creature has 3 utilities depending on mode which is picked from a rotation wheel of behavior. In scavenger mode Corvus Moriorum can be taught to gather great numbers of a single resource as long as it's in groups of 3 or more. It has a nest when in flock mode. This works like a dino trough, the beehive and dedi storage mixed, and can be a great afk farmer for solo players. In nest mode: fertile eggs of the Corvus are also generated based on random parents in the flock. But as long as thier is room this nest can be used as a natural incubator for eggs, like the tek incubator. It does not show mutations stats or colours, but the tier of kibble used in the nest affects chance of mutation. Solo mode: On a survivors shoulder, a single imprinted Corvus randomly flies off and returns with a gift adding it to the survivors inventory. The quality of loot depends on the imprint bonus. Corvus greatly increase quality of life for those who wish to live primitive, and give kibble more value and utility. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chatham_raven#:~:text=The Chatham raven (Corvus moriorum,South Islands of New Zealand -

I’ve always preferred new dinosaurs coming to Ark over anything else. Ceratosaurs has been one of my favorite carnivores ever since it’s first appearance in the Jurassic Park franchise. With its unique center horn, I see this creature making an excellent early to mid game tame. A carnivore with a host of gathering properties to differentiate it from some of the other bruisers you might otherwise consider. It’s a carno-sized, tyrannosaur-like dinosaur that would undoubtedly become a staple among the Ark community.
