  1. Harpagornis Moorei! The Titan-Tackling Terror of the Skies! The Eagle permanently resides in the highest parts of the Ark’s airspace, far beyond sight of those on the ground. Wild Eagles hover about the Ark as if it has unlimited stamina, and is obviously an aggressive creature. Similar to the Mosasaur underwater, the Eagle is the most fearsome creature up high, yet it prefers not to fly too close to the ground. If an unwitting flier approaches too close, all it needs to do to escape is head down! If not, the Roc swoops in on giant wings, and those talons can cause some significant bleeding! As you know, bleeding fliers are practically useless, so you’ll really want to dodge that attack! To tame an Eagle, tribes will need to employ their best flying creatures and load up on ammunition, as the Harpagornis will need knocking out whilst it flies, similar to a Quetz. If it wakes on the ground, it will immediately fly upward until it reaches the safety of the sky. Clever survivors will build traps to prevent the Eagle from escaping! Tamed birds are fearsome battle mounts, as nothing rivals them in the air. They can even prey on the largest land mounts such as Giganotosaurus or Titanosaur by slashing with their talons and waiting above for their poor prey to bleed out. Tamed Eagles will, of course, land on the ground when commanded, and they can create their own nest which serves as a natural egg incubator for other eggs; this will be a temporary structure which can be damaged, so be careful where you place it. The nest will have 3 spaces for eggs, and will keep them perfectly incubated unless the nest is destroyed. Tamed Eagles can create two nests, and when roosting at one, they can be told to fly to the other nest without a rider, allowing them to transport items, dinosaurs, and even people with no rider! This is designed to be a higher-end alternative to teleportation without using tek, as I know ASA will be able to implement the tracking required. The Eagle would fly directly up to a set height, fly across, then descend straight down. Be careful using this feature on PVP! As discussed, they’ll have a normal attack and a special talon attack similar to an Allo chomp which inflicts a chunky bleed effect. Eagles will be able to pick up creatures up to Rex size (no bigger!) and can attack whilst holding a creature. Their speed would likely be around Quetz flight speed or up to Giga run speed at full sprint, as a super-strong, super-fast bird is likely to be hell unless you have turrets galore. This will be the ultimate king of the sky, a true terror of the clouds. But we're not done yet! The Eagle has adapted to Extinction like a fish to water, and they now come equipped with a titan-damaging attack which does 130% more damage to normal Titans, and a whopping 150% more damage to the King Titan! If you're able to tame a flock of these behemoths, they'll be a great asset in the boss fights! Whilst them to attack and watch them swoop in to inflict some major bleed damage on the Titans! Scared of traversing the wastelands without a Tek Skiff? Worry no more, as even those pesky Corrupted Gigas cant touch you whilst you soar above the ravaged Earth! Better yet, feed the Haast Eagle enough corrupted material, and it enters a new damage mode with a new ability: Corrupted Bleed! This does bonus damage against corrupted creatures, allowing the Haast Eagle to go toe-to-toe against waves of the suckers in the defence modes! Please consider voting for my big birdy boi! Any comments or upvotes are SERIOUSLY appeciated!!
  2. Hello everyone, in this forum I'm submitting a creature in a tier that hasn't won from any of the other recent creature submissions, Introducing the Tupuxuara, The aerial weapon of extinction, and The Corruption adapter. OVERVIEW Tupuxuara is a large genus of crested and toothless pterodactyl that lives in the early Cretaceous around 125 - 112 million years ago on what we now know as the Romualdo Formation of the Santana Group, Brazil. In the desolate plains of the map filled with corruption, Tupuxuara seems to be the only one who has adapted to the side effects thus becoming "immune" from corruption to their mind, They can be found anywhere but the shivering snow biome, they're seen to be a neutral creature however quickly turning aggressive at the smell of corrupted parts, because of its adaptation against the corruption, it isn't uncommon to see it destroying every corrupted creatures it saw and maybe other creatures along the way even if they can't take that much of a beating themselves, unlike other pterosaur in here, it has a habit of picking people up that provoked them to the sky and dropping them in high altitude to kill them, luckily just a punch can stop it from holding you up and cause it to drop you earlier, both the female and male Tupuxuara can be differentiate from a mile away, Females tend to have a larger and have a more numb crest while the males has a smaller and more sharper crest with more added color than that of the females. ABILITIES The Adapter: killing corrupted creatures allows it to be more adapted to the corruption more for a period of time, Killing more corrupted creatures allows it to gain more adaptation and thus making it stronger against corrupted creatures/corrupted areas, however if the it's adaptation is too much it can enter to its Fury of Corruption state (will be explained what it is in Taming process ), Unable to increase the adaptation if The Corruption Defuser is activated. The Corruption Defuser: their adaption to the corruption causes it to developing an ability where it could emit waves from it's large crest that can't be felt or hear but it does have an effect to nearby corrupted creatures making them in a seemingly exhausted state being slower, weaker, and "calmer" but also weaken corrupted parts to take more damage , however this adaptation only can be done specifically by the Females and the Males unfortunately doesn't have this adaptation. Streamlined:In exchange over the Corruption Defuser, males have a lot more movement freedom than the females able to move diagonally in place, backwards and turning 360° degrees in one spot, Their most added ability from this it's when it performed a streamlined ability, this ability allows it to basically glide in the air stopping stamina use while still able to fly in the air, it can't get any air however in this state and will slowly fall down if it doesn't perform any manouver or returning back to it's flying stage. SADDLE ABILITIES Female saddle:The female saddle provide a bomb stash that resembles that of a bomber in the real world, The stash can hold bombs such as: Grenades Poison grenades Smoke grenades Sticky bombs Proximity mines Plant Species X Oil jar (Increase damage to burning creatures) Each ammo can be hold in a quantity of 30 Max. Male Saddle:The males saddle provides simple pistols in each wings but can be upgraded to fabricated pistols in the fabricator,The weapons can only be shot when the Streamlined ability is activated. Both female and male Tupuxuara can be put an attachment onto their crest known as "the detector",The attachment acts as a helmet for the Tupuxuara and can be used to collect waves of elements from an orbital drop to determine every blueprints that are inside the orbital drop, while putting the attachment to female Tupuxuara can detect every single blueprints in an orbital drop, the males can only detect 75% of the blueprints because of their crest size, when putting the attachment to a Female Tupuxuara it will be unable to use the Corruption Defuser ability until the attachment is worn off. TAMING PROCESS Taming the flying aerial weapon for the map is similar to that of gambling for lottery tickets, First is to get close with one while having a corrupted heart in your inventory allowing it to smell and detect the danger of it, second step is to allow it to pick you up and once you're in the air, feed it the corrupted heart which overload it's mind and cause it to drop you, now this is where it gets the "gambling" part, when it drops you 3 things can happened to it. The first is where the corruption from the heart overloaded it's mind to an extent where it knocked the Tupuxuara out to be tamed the normal way, This is likely happening to weaker Tupuxuara however stronger ones makes this the most unlikely to happen. The second and most likely to happen is the brain of the Tupuxuara is just knocked sideways in which where it would act like your typical Tapejara,A passive creature that runs in sight of a player/danger,in this state you will need to sneak it up and feed it meat such as mutton, prime meat, etc in order to tame it. The third and last one is where the Tupuxuara goes in a state usually called as "The Fury of Corruption", This state goes around for 30 seconds where the Tupuxuara become an insanely aggressive creature, attacking everything from foes to allies having a massive damage increase and an especially Massive damage increase to corrupted creatures, It's Resistance is also increased aswell as its speed, aggro radius, and The chances it picking you up, and when it does pick you up,The only way to escape is by killing the Tupuxuara but good luck doing that before it kills you first. USEFULNESS Let's say you were able to tame a Tupuxuara, what is it's uses, well for starter it's a flier of course meaning you can traverse the map way easier and faster than land creatures, it's streamline ability allows it to stay in the air for a long period of time save from the monsters in the ground,They can be an excellent creature to use for drop pods and element veins mission as they deal increased damage to corrupted creatures while also being an agile creature, they can also be a great creature to use for taming the lesser Titans as their ability can weaken the corrupted nodes and made it at least faster for you to tame the titan, and the detector attachment can let you to know if a orbital drop have a blueprint you want without doing every single orbital drop to try and get it,and their respective saddle can be both fun to play with and possibly useful in some fights you'll do in PvP WEAKNESSES •Fabricated sniper The fabricated snipers can deal tons of damage to the Tupuxuara while still keeping it's distance, considering the health pool of the Tupuxuara will be around the same of that of the Tapejara,it might not take long for a fabricated snipers to kill a Tupuxuara in it's self. •Fire arrows When the Tupuxuara's highly adapted to the corruption it can also develop it's weakness and that is fire, Fire deals more damage to the Tupuxuara the higher it's adapted to the corruption •Saddle Both the basic Saddle have a weakness that can be exploited, for the female saddle, when it opens the bomb stash it's possible to shoot it and cause whatever it's supposed to drop exploded on the Tupuxuara itself,The effects to the Tupuxuara depends on the ammo that was supposed to be dropped. Grenades, sticky bombs, and proximity mine:Explode on site damaging both the Tupuxuara and rider. Poison Grenades:Deals torpor to the rider. Plant species X:Blinds the rider and unable to use any attack methods and abilities. Oil jar:Slows the Tupuxuara down while being covered in oil, able to be ignited with enough firepower such as bullets from guns or fire arrows for more fire damage. While the male saddle is more harder to exploit, you can shoot it's gun in it's wings if you're precise enough and cause it to be detached from the saddle causing the Tupuxuara to lose one of its weapon, you can also pick it up if you want to. The detector attachment can be shot off aswell. WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS CREATURE: One of the reasons of why I Choose the Tupuxuara specifically is because no fliers have won the creature vote for ASA/Ark Survival Ascended, the closest we got for a fliers that wins is the Yi Ling for abberation and the only true fliers that has ever come close to winning is the hatzegopterus for the center, Considering extinction is a huge map and the low abundance of fliers, well fliers that existed in the real word on the map at least,I think a flier should fit for the map perfectly with many spots to explore with it that otherwise can't with land creatures, and it really wouldn't hurt for another flier that can pick you up, Right?.
  3. Image at the bottom! Dang Forums making it hard to see... Dossier: “It always surprises me when I find extinct animals on the Ark that are so much larger than they should be! Such is the case with the Harpagornis Moorei, now a winged omen of death! Almost permanently flying as high as the Ark reaches, it never descends below a certain altitude and hunts anything that flies up to meet it. Get too close and the Haast Eagle, as it’s informally known, shreds its prey with those enormous talons! Anything unlucky enough to be caught will quickly bleed out, and trying to outfly that winged terror when slowed is a recipe for a grisly end. Taming the Haast Eagle takes aerial supremacy for any tribe; it must be knocked out high in the air, and a keen-eyed Survivor can look out for their nests atop mountains to signify an Eagle is high above! Tamed Harpagornis are incredible battle-mounts, capable of lifting creatures bigger than itself and tearing them apart. I’ve seen a tamed Eagle build two nests across the Ark, flying between them by command without a rider! These could be useful for long-distance transport, and their nests are so cosy that they act as a primitive incubator for eggs!” Art by the brilliant @timinybillybob - look him up on the webz! Description: So, you’re off flying round the Ark. It’s a lovely sunny day, you’re high above those Gigas, and the shield dome shimmers above. But wait, what’s that ahead? You’ve flown too high, flown too close. The Haast Eagle has spotted you, and you’re going to have to get out of there! Alright, so look, I know the Latin name was changed, but Harpagornis just sounds better. I love flying round on Ark, as it’s easily the easiest way of getting around. Aberration even blocks fliers to make it harder. But still, jump on a Pteranodon, a Quetz, fly up and the only threat is running out of stamina. Maybe a Wyvern or Argy if you nip to the loo and forget to land somewhere safe, but still, the airspace of the Ark is too comfortable. No longer! The Harpagornis was the largest recorded Eagle of all time, and was a fearsome hunter capable of taking down Giant Moa, performing strong attacks to knock its prey down. They were also similar to vultures, slurping out insides from corpses they would find. “But it sounds like an Argy!” I hear you say. Yep, it’s a big bird boi! The Harpagornis will be, literally, the sky-Giga. The deep ocean has Mosa and Squid which won’t follow you upwards, the ground has Gigas and Carchas which won’t follow you toooo far, and the sky will have the Haast Eagle, which won’t follow you down. There would only be one or two spawning at a time, similar to a Giga, due to their incredible health, damage potential, and stamina. Please consider voting for my big birdy boi! I’d love to hear any feedback as, together, we can all get the Haast Eagle into Ark! If you have any ability ideas, feel free to post and fingers crossed Wildcard can choose the best of all of our ideas! Hey look, you made it to the end! You’re a good egg.
  4. The Haast Eagle, scientifically known as the Hieraatus Moorei, is the largest species of eagle to have ever existed. Native to New Zealand, this eagle was the uncontested apex predator of the ecosystem, tackling and bringing down prey as large as the giant moa and possibly New Zealand's first humans. Its genus name in Greek means harpax, meaning grappling hook, and it’s very likely the influence of the folklore of giant man-eating birds in New Zealand like the Pouakai and Hokioi. Adapted to hunt prey larger and heavier than itself, haast eagles would divebomb prey on the forest floor from trees, slamming into them at high speeds while slashing away with their tiger-sized talons and beak. The force exerted by this would be similar to having a large cinder block dropped on you from a four-story building. Accustomed to life in the jungles, haast eagles are commonly found soaring across the Center’s many forests, redwood biome, and floating island. These powerful predators are well adapted to snatching prey, predators, or egg thieves that encroach on their territory or threaten their nests. Please read: The dossier used above WAS NOT created by me. Abilities -Divebomb attack that temporarily stuns land and flying creatures up to the size of a yuty or quetzal on impact. While diving the eagle can perform a barrel roll and quickly change direction to avoid missing the target. However unlike the pteranodons they can take this roll a bit further, be able to claw strike and dive while rolling. -Perch: While sustained long periods of stamina are what argents specialize in, haast eagles specialize in maneuverability and speed. To conserve stamina the eagle is able to lock on and perch on the many various surfaces with its massive talons, primarily they can perch on the vines/zip lines connecting the rock formations across parts of the map, While perched on these vines, provided there's enough space, they can slide down or shuffle up in a similar manner to ravagers and gigantopithecus. Doing this does not drain any stamina. -Swoop: Like the snow owl and griffin they can swoop -Passive scare: Small animals are frightened by the eagle, and will passively flee from it. These animals include microraptors, pegos, troodons, hyaenodons, and ichthyornis. -Insulation: Similar to the direbear, the eagles course and fluffy feathers provide insulation to the rider -Wing attack, after soaring/diving for a short amount of time will gain the ability to perform a new attack. When landed, a built-up wing beat will result in a gust of wind that pushes attackers back. Works up to creatures the size of a carno/baryonyx. The resulting hit has the potential to keep several attackers back for several seconds. The wing beat will also collect nearby resources if not being used to attack anything. -Eagle eye: Birds of prey have some of the best eyesight of all animals, and I think it should be utilized. These eagles are active both day and night, and utilize their eyesight to spot enemies and prey at all times of the day. Eagles are able to spot and point out enemies in a large vicinity, these enemies include those buried underground. When ridden the eagle eye function can also view the stats of creatures you're directly looking at. -Enhanced agility , able to turn on a dime at high speeds through the trees -Prime meat collector can collect prime meat from smaller creatures with its talons. In turn a reduction of prime meat, meat, and hide is present. -Maneuverability is one of the birds main strong suits, riders will be able the benefits of its more nimble frame compared to tames like argents and pteranodons -A screech that frightens small creatures, this works on creatures up to the size of a direwolf -Pest Control: when set on wandering it targets small creatures in a large vicinity like troodons, pegos, dilos, and ichthyornis(this factors into the whole prime meat collector thing). If the eagle doesn’t kill them in one hit it will seize them with its talons and tear them apart while airborne. This can be particularly useful on beaches where these creatures are a constant annoyance. -The pest control ability would also target non tribemates on foot trying to sneak into your base, so having some of these soaring or perched around the base would be very beneficial from getting raided -Carrying: These large birds can pick up the majority of the Ark's smaller creatures. While not able to hold creatures as large as the argent, they can carry heavier animals than the ptera. They are able to attack any creatures that they're holding. -Talon snatch: Having the most powerful grip of any of Arks flyers, these birds can latch onto and drag foundations, dead and unconscious creatures up to carno size, survivors, and even fish near the water's surface! Traditionally a forest eagle, these birds are opportunists and take advantage of the abundant good located in the Centers waterways. Taming Method: There are two ways of taming haast eagles. Adults can be passively tamed by being ensnared by a net gun. Once down they can be passively fed their preferred food, mutton. They will however be able to still snap and cut through the net so move quickly. Once freed they’ll briefly retreat but return to the attack, in doing so they can be ensnared again and the taming process can be contained. Be careful, as the speed at which adults can move can make this difficult. The alternative is more straightforward and is done by collecting eggs from nests in large trees and cliffsides. Once eggs are collected the parents will go after you, so get out fast. -Climbing: Able to land on vertical structures with its talons like the tapejara, it can stay hooked on and shuffle up structures slowly without draining stamina. These talons are a great multi purpose tool for what you need! Nest loot: Eggs aren't the only thing that can be found in nests. Most large eagle nests today are full of fur and bones from previous meals, so even if the eggs are the main focus one could collect some pelt or additional resources from nests/empty nests. Nest loot can range from items like hide, wood, thatch, gems, and mushrooms, to melee weapons like hatchets, picks, and climbing picks. Appearance: Appearance loosely based on the largest living forest eagles like a harpy, crowned, and philippine eagles, but with obvious differences to give it a distinct, different look. To some extent, it would make sense for it to have some slight resemblance to the little eagle(ironically it's closest living relative). Having a crown of feathers like some other large raptors that could be a color region would also add to its look. A small detail that should be mentioned was that in real life it had a fairly long beak compared to most eagles. Another detail that should be acknowledged is its broad, rounded wings. These wings would be more robust and rounded compared to those of other flyers in a similar look to the real creature, which gave it less ability to soar but allowed for its extreme aerial maneuverability. Also similar to modern eagles, its posture would be in a tall, upright stance when grounded or perched. Spawn locations: A forest eagle by default, these birds can also be found on the maps of mountainous and canyon regions. While less common, they can be found on the maps snow regions as well. Colors: Small detail that can be taken into consideration regarding appearance, Maori(New Zealand's first people) oral tradition from the late 1800s records described it as apparently having “red, black, and white plumage with black feathers tinged with yellow or green with a bunch of red feathers on the head”. Source: https://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/haasts-eagle#:~:text=Maori%20oral%20tradition%20from%20the,of%20a%20small%20golden%20eagle Drops: Feathers, raw meat, raw prime meat, hide, and talons(dropped talons can be used as a keratin subsitute) Crafting: Once killed and harvested the natural loot collected can be used for weapon advancements. Eagle talons can be used to craft certain melee weapons and can be used as a substitute for keratin in other crafting. Items that eagle talons can be used to craft include climbing picks, sickles, picks, etc. These weapons do more damage and have more piercing ability compared to their normal metal counterparts. On other hand, eagle feathers can be used to boost the accuracy and firing speed of weapons, specifically arrows. Simply add a feather as an attachment on your crossbow and your arrows will do boosted damage, fly faster, and have a higher chance of hitting a moving target. Ideas from past comments: -When grabbing enemy players, if receiving too much damage, the eagle will keep flying upward before dropping them from a great height. This idea actually makes a lot of sense as large eagle species have been documented doing this to animals. -Is able to swoop like the snow owl -When diving and slashing, the eagle can rip a parachute. -Spawn in the high mountains and redwoods. -Specialization: Can be trained to specialize in attacking certain creatures like insects, theropods, mammals, etc. Aberrant variant: These flyers do spawn in the map's Aberrant cave, and have an Aberrant variant that can only be found there. Image Credit(please read): /THE IMAGE IN THE PROPOSED SIZE COMPARISON AND DOSSIER IS NOT MY ART/. The art in the proposed size is from Cenozoic Life.blogspot. The illustration of the eagle is from Jurassic World Alive, who’s done a great job of displaying the animal. The outline for the eagle with wings expanded can be credited to Emily Stepp over on Twitter as well. Be sure to follow her if you're a fan of great paleo art. Keep in mind I do not intend for the creature in-game to look exactly like either depiction, but both are good reference points. Once again, I take no credit for any of the art used in these, only the abilities, ideas, and suggestions. Thank you for reading. Other Notes: Rideable, can go with or without a saddle, although like with almost any creature a saddle is preferred. Smaller than the argent but bulkier/taller than the pelagornis. Regarding the wing attack, think of the build-up being something similar to the wooly rhino's charge. Its crown of feathers could flare up like a dilo's frill during its boosting shriek. As always feel free to give suggestions, drop your art, or even a dossier in the comments. I’ll be sure to take what I can into consideration and be open to adding new things so long as they're not unrealistic or too ridiculously OP. I’d love for this amazing creature to be something that we can all find fun and useful. Also, feel free to give me any ideas on how I can make this even more fitting for Ragnarok, I was originally going to submit for a different map vote but decided to give it a go for this one as well. POV: The last thing you see on Center:
  5. Pterodaustro was a Filter feeding Pterosaur with Whale like Baleen teeth. Their diets whould have been very simular to those of the modern Flamingos. However unlike Flamingos, Pterodaustros hindfeet had webbing making them also good swimmers. Vote for Pterodaustro if you want a hybrid between Flying and Swimming Mounts! The Dossier: WILD Out of all Pterosaurs, Pterodaustro must be the strangest looking one ive met yet! Its Webbed feet and its baleen like teeth make it an exelent Swimmer and a Filter feeder. Pterodaustro often can be found near beaches searching for its prey: Trilobites and Clams. Seeing them fly above the water and diving in searching for food, i have to say is a majestic sight! DOMESTICATED While they are easy enough to tame for they dont care much for humans unless provoked but even then Pterodaustro whould rather flee than fight, their food isint as easy to come by however. While their hunger is satisfied with Chitin once tamed, they refuse them when wild. However one thing these Pterosaurs love are Pearls. With a handful of Silica pearls or Black Pearls you are sure to make a friend out of Pterodaustro quick! Pterodaustros Beaks arent very well adapted for combat however what makes up for it is its ability to harvest immense amounts of Silica and Black Pearls from Clams, Trilobites and Sea Scorpions! Pterodaustro are ecxelent for exploring areas with rivers, lakes and oceans for i have noticed that upon leaving the water they seem to be flying faster for a little while. Making traveling near water sources fast! Is leaving the safety of your dino to gather Silica pearls worrying you? Well worry not! With Pterodaustros Beak it can collect clams and their pearls for you with no danger of leaving your dinos side! Info: For more info on Pterodaustro see the Link: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pterodaustro
  6. Giant Looper Moth: Neutral giant moth that flies fast. Spawns around volcano beach area. Taming To tame a looper moth you have to make sure it is night. Bring a moth lantern with you and place it down. When the looper moth gets close to the lantern sneak up to it and pet it. It will then either turn around and look at you or fly away and spore you. If it looks at you feed it tasty treats! If it gets startled and flies away, try again next time. You can tell if it will be startled if the wings are in flying position or relaxed. It will only eat sweet veggie cakes. Normal leg attack Spore bomb: Similar to lymantria spores, The spores effects depends on what it has eaten. It takes what it has eaten as ammunition. (It can be cycled through with reload). Narco Berry- Does tranq damage Azula Berry- Slows the target and brittles armor (Causing the target to take slightly increased damage) Tinto Berry- Overheats the enemy causing them to take small amount of damage. If the enemy stays in the spores for too long then it will engulfs the enemy in flames Ama Berry- Constantly stuns the target within. Crops- Does decent DoT (Has a bigger AoE than nearly all other spore) Sweet Veggie Cakes- Heals allies and reduces healing for enemies. (Has the biggest AoE) Silk Bola: Sticky string like substance that fixes enemy in place for a short amount of time similar to the effects of a bola. Can bola up to rex tier. Wing Slice: Its wings flaps with such force that it causes the air around it to turn into projectiles and hurt enemies. Barrel Roll: Has a barrel roll that can spur it forward giving it a burst of movement speed after. When using the barrel roll, its wings also let off some spores. Can go side to side. Night Vision. Strengths Having a light Source such as a torch or light pet around will cause it to be more bulky and have additional spore effects. Narco-Wider area of effect Azula Berry-Freezes and freeze immunity. Tinto Berry-It is immune to fire damage as well Ama Berry-Spore strikes down like lightning dealing additional 1 time damage Crops-Roulette(Takes an additional effect from the other berries) Cake-Gives resistance buffs to allies in the area for a time. Prevents healing entirely to any enemies in the area. Weaknesses Not that tanky It gets sad if it had light around but it disappears causing it to become slower Extremely vulnerable to being feared. Takes increased fire damage To breed the moth there must be light a special type of light around them called Moth Lantern. The moths will not only get buffed around this lantern, but they will start a mating ritual that takes several minutes to complete. Dossier Kona Giant Looper Moth (Scotorythra megalophylla) Is a enormously large moth found mainly fluttering gently along the coastline. of volcanically active regions. While it is not actively aggressive, when provoked Scotorythra megalophylla will use a variety of attacks to protect itself. Scotorythra megalophylla will use a variety of spore attack's that seem very similar to Lymatria (Lymantria dispar) attacks. Scotorythra megalophylla spores have a variety of affects including stunning, slowing, overheating, and tranquilizing. It also has the ability to capture enemies in a sticky silk string that stops them from moving until it disintegrates. The effect is very similar to that of a chain bola, though it cannot be removed. Although not a common companion, I have seen bigger tribes go into battle and come out alive. They seem to not only have the ability to heal, but also stop opponents healing as well. This moth is very attracted to light and can be tamed by using light to lure it close enough to be pet and then fed. This is best done using a special moth lantern which is also used in breeding these moths causing them to begin a special, and quite adorable, mating ritual. (Not the best at making dossiers sorry.)=
  7. Imagine flying, diving into the water and snatching up a manta, meg or a basilo then taking back off into the sky, transporting your water dinos to another location the other side of the map without having to go/swim around or cryoing them. A quetz that can swim, (carry a base?) and can transport water dinos.
  8. Wild: Teratornis are carnivorous avians from the Pliocene. They are similar in size to the Ark’s argentavis, making them suitable to be ridden by survivors, if they’re up to the challenge. Teratornis travel in small, aggressive flocks, as they are predators that tend to overwhelm their prey in numbers rather than attack with brute strength. Their flocking behavior is similar to that of the deinonychus; their serrated, hooked beaks inflicting heavy, stacking bleed damage. However, without their flock bonus, a single teratornis is easy game for larger predators. They are able to outrun their close relative, the argentavis, but survivors have had luck escaping them on the back of pteranodons. Domesticated: Once a survivor has acquired a flock of teratornis to aid them, they are useful battle mounts in numbers; perfect for swarming larger predators, such as the rex and allosaurus. Additionally, when in flocks, teratornis are able to protect their riders from being dismounted by other creatures (stuns and, with a cooldown, picking) and even man-made traps. Flocks are even immune to the fear-inducing roar of the yutyrannus! Flocks of teratornis are good mounts to have around in the blazing heat of the Ark’s deserts, as their feathers are designed to keep them cool, and by extension, their riders, too! Taming: The Teratornis is a flock creature, and they are not easily separated from each other. Survivors will find that selecting a single one in a flock to tame is a pain, however some have found a way to win over the stubborn feathered beast. Survivors must approach the flock until they become aggressive, and lead them to a prey item killed by the survivor. As they will take most opportunities to prey on larger creatures, the carcass will distract the flock, giving the survivor time to sneak up on the Teratornis they wish to tame. They must feed it its desired food item, and grab onto its legs. The Terratornis will become startled, wildly flying about and attempting to shake the survivor off. They must manage to stay seated until a persistence bar fills, after which the survivor will be able to hoist themself up onto the Teratornis's back. The flock will quickly turn aggressive towards the survivor and their mounted Teratornis, and the pair must fight back, killing the rest of the flock to fill its taming bar.
  9. Aerotitan is supposed to be a fun mid to late game dino that can be used in PvP and PvE as it is highly malleable and can be slightly modified to more match your playstyle. Originally, I designed it to be a Tropeo with a gatling gun instead of a grenade launcher (a fighter instead of a bomber) because I already love the Tropeo and I wish the Quetzal had a little more polish/utility. I also love playing with the Astrodelphis so why not bring that fun back into the world of dinosaurs? Before the idea of a customizable saddle came to mind, Aero was originally going to have a very small platform saddle, maybe enough for two triangle foundations, that you could put your weapon of choice on but then I remembered- you cant pilot your tame and mount a turret at the same time, so I changed it from a platform saddle to a modular saddle. I know things will be changed before anything gets in the game, so I'll put it simply; Aerotitan was originally supposed to be a machine gun version of the Tropeo. I've since revised it to make it more unique, but if everything gets cut in the end, I'd at least like it to have those sorts of traits. One last thing to note- above all, I spent most of my time and effort designing the thing to be Ark-friendly, so I hope- if it does get in the game- it keeps the markings / general design I made just for Studio WildCard! Now enough of this introduction, you guys want to see dinosaurs, not essays! Blank dossier by Hamfist on Steam. Huge Thanks! Aerotitan The Approaching Storm Wild Aerotitan Sudamericanus is a flying terror and a force to be reckoned with. Their eerie bellow will alert you to their presence, as well as your own presence in *their* territory. The skies of Scorched Earth are their domain, going so far as to rival the power of the fantastical wyverns that conquer this ARK. While they typically end up turning tail before being able to overpower these foes, creatures like pteranodon, lymantria, vultures, and especially humans should certainly watch their backs around these greedy animals. Strangely, their flying only seems to get better in inclement weather, making the desert the perfect place for them to roost. Tamed While this pterosaur is a highly formidable opponent, even they have their limits. Should their opponent outlast them in combat, Aerotitan Sudamericanus will make a temporary tactical retreat to land and recover their stamina. Some survivors have taken this opportunity to place saddles on them and, if they can last long enough, ride the creature til it accepts that their new master isn't leaving anytime soon. Their impressive size and strength allows for a robust saddle that can support an interchangable module with an ammo box base, as well as one gas-powered turbine under each wing. The customizability of their gear allows for any survivor to easily persist in the unforgiving environment of the desert, be it against the deathworms of the wastelands or the most dangerous game there is. Taming In Detail: The survivor would have to level their stamina along with their target in order to add this tame to their tribe. After staying in an Aero's airspace for long enough, they will make a distinct cry to indicate taming has begun. The goal from here would be to bear the brunt of the dino's attacks until it's stamina drains completely, forcing it to land. Attacking it can also lower it's stamina but it would reduce effectiveness. The survivor would have ~15 seconds to access it's inventory, equip it with a saddle, and ride it; gaining more taming progress the longer the survivor stays on the saddle. Staying on the saddle while it is untamed drains a survivor's stamina and they will be forced to dismount when their stamina reaches 0. The survivor will then have one minute to get back into the air with the Aerotitan, repeating the process until taming is complete. If the survivor does not reach the Aerotitan again within one minute, the Aerotitan will destroy the saddle and taming will reset. Unique Passive Ability: In rain, fog, electrical storms, or any other inclement weather, the Aerotitan gets a 20% speed boost. DJ4275 suggested this buff be called Stormchasing. Stats: Health 575 Stamina 600 Oxygen 150 Food 1400 Weight 450 Melee 24* Movement 710 Torpor 830 Saddle: The saddle by default is only two turbines and an ammo box that can store a limited amount of a single ammo type, the limit being the carry weight of the tame. The ammo will not count towards the overall carryweight on the Aero, but the saddle weighs 30 units without an attachment. Each attachment weighs an extra 10 units. Only one attachment can be used at a time. The Aerotitan can fly/sprint without powered turbines, but only slightly faster than a quetzal. Gasoline still goes in the Aerotitan's inventory. Saddle Attachments: Rocket turret attachment- Same ingredients/functionality as the rocket turret. Flak cannon attachment- Similar in functionality to the tropeognathus saddle, however, grenades can be retrieved from the ammo box on the Aero's back instead of it's inventory. Minigun turret attachment- A minigun that uses advanced rifle bullets from the ammo box part of the saddle. Controls: (WASD) Left Click: Bite Right Click: Rear Up (Standing) / Kick (Flying)(Can be used in combination with grab to throw things to the ground) X: Reverse (Standing (Makes the Aero turn around in place)) / Buck (Small, weak AOE attack) C| Call (Standing (Aesthetic)) / Grab (Flying)(Cannot pick players off saddles) Jet Controls: Left Control: Activate Turbines Left Click: Fire weapon (If not weapon equipped, bite) Right Click: Bite X: U-Turn C| Grab Design: Trivia: The design is generally based off a standard naturally-occurring jungle camouflage. The four feathers that stick out from the back of the head are meant to resemble the nose propellers of some of the first military aircraft that were commercially used in the US. The "mouth" on the neck is inspired by a combination of several things; false markings like some smaller animals have to scare off predators (like the eye spots on an owl moth), the red feathers of a ruby-throated hummingbird, and the livery that is typically painted on A-10 Warthogs. The eyes feature a red sclera and silver irises to look like those of a Bearded Vulture.
