  1. Wild. The Titanaboa Armatis, more commonly known as the Scutumna (Scue-tum-na) is quite the interesting creature; From what I can tell, it seems to be a Titanaboa with a case of gigantism and other various genetic mutations. It most notably is covered almost entirely in thick segmented rings of chitin topped with equally durable fins/plates making it a biological fortress; meaning only creatures with a strong enough bite or stomp could stand a chance at causing it substantial harm. It is also incredibly long, with most specimens measuring in at about 60 meters (approximately 200ft) in length; making it one of the longest creatures I've ever seen in my days. This creature whilst being nearly invulnerable to most threats doesn't have many offensive capabilities. Possessing no unique combat abilities, a bite force shockingly weak for a carnivore of its size and possessing no lethal or narcotic based poisons/toxins; meaning it primarily hunts smaller creatures with the largest I've seen it go after being a trike. I've also seen this creature chewing on raw metal deposits in the sunken forest which seems to bring it satisfaction as well as cause an odd glow on its fins/plates to appear. Tamed. Due to the plates of the Scutumna a saddle cannot be dawned; however, as luck would have it one can gain enough grip on its head to ride this creature and its natural armor seems to provide enough protection. To tame a Scutumna one must be truly brave by throwing metal ore into its mouth whilst it is feasting on its prey. When tamed it proves to be a defensive powerhouse and act as a living barricade against other creatures. Due to its segmented armor and flexible body, it can take many shapes such as a linear line, ring, and semi-circle once it enters its defensive stance; however, once in this state it becomes incapable of moving or attacking until its master orders it to exit this stance. I've seen survivors use Scutumna to great effect to defend OSDs and Element veins, using them as quickly set up barriers to defend such Highly valuable targets. When used as a barrier the smallest creature that can step over it seems to be the diplodocus; however, there are countermeasures for when large corrupted creatures such as the corrupted tyrannosaurus rex attempt to step over it. By feeding a Scutumna metal ore whilst it's in its defensive stance, the plates on its back will begin to glow, creating a magnetic field that will slow down corrupted creatures that attempt to pass over it; whilst in this state, it also becomes impervious to being bled or lit on fire. @Syntac: If this creature ends up getting to the finals and you end up seeing this, I want to say thank you. I've been watching you since I was 10, you got me into ark and survival games in general and taught me that Irish people exist. Thank you.
  2. Neotamandua borealis is an extinct species of anteater. Fossils were found in the Honda Group at the Konzentrat-Lagerstätte of La Venta, Colombia. It was suggested to be an ancestor of the giant anteater, and is also related to the tamanduas. The species was described by Hirschfeld in 1976. In the game, it is a neutral creature that looks like a core anteater and is about the same size as Thylacoleo, and usually lives in the forest. Usually, when it finds Titanoma, it stretches out its tongue and preys on it, but it is basically nocturnal and hides in dark places during the day, but becomes active at night. However, they are territorial and have a habit of standing up and threatening medium-sized creatures, including the same Neotamandua or the player, as well as larger creatures. This threat has the effect of instilling fear in the surrounding creatures, causing them to lose their will to fight. However, if this doesn't work and you ignore the threat and attack or try to enter its territory, you will be given an "anger buff" like Megatherium and will attack in that state. It doesn't matter if it's day or night. How to tame Taming this anteater requires a Titanomyrma corpse and Ghillie gear. This is because if you don't have the Ghillie armor on, it will be alert and pose a threat. Taming is not possible while intimidated, so Ghillie equipment is required. Then hand-deliver the corpse of Titanomrma while equipped with Ghillie. It will then see the corpse and start eating it, which will increase the taming gauge. After that, taming is completed by feeding the corpse and raising the taming gauge. However, it will not eat other foods such as Kibbles other than Titaniumma corpses, so it will only eat Titanomirma corpses, so if you are aiming for a high level, you will need a large amount of Titanomirma corpses. After that, the higher the level of Titanoma, the easier the taming gauge will rise. After taming You can ride a horse with a special saddle, and you can even climb walls. And like the Ravager, it can travel on both natural and artificial ziplines, and takes no fall damage. Also, just like in the wild, you can perform a threatening pose that has the effect of instilling fear in surrounding creatures to make them lose their will to fight. Furthermore, if you take a threatening pose even once, you will receive an "anger buff". This buff includes the ability to increase attack power, speed and defense power by 75%. It mainly attacks with its claws, but it can also attack with its tongue. It also has a very long tongue, which allows it to attack flying creatures such as Dimorphodon from a distance. Insects, especially Titanomarma, can be killed with their tongues to yield cement or organic polymers. However, this creature is actually capable of clinging to and attacking large creatures such as Tyrannosaurus, and is especially effective against bosses such as Titans. Moreover, since you can climb while clinging, you can safely attack weak points against Titans, for example. If you have any other good ideas, please let us know in the comments.
  3. Timonya is an extinct genus of temnospondyl amphibian represented by the type species Timonya annee from the Early Permian of Brazil. Timonya is a basal member of a clade or evolutionary grouping of temnospondyls called Dvinosauria. It was named in 2015 on the basis of several specimens from the lower part of the Pedra de Fogo Formation in Parnaíba Basin, which is about 278 million years old. It was likely a small aquatic predator that inhabited lakes and wetland areas. During the Early Permian the center of tetrapod diversity was in the equatorial regions of the supercontinent Pangea, and Timonya was part of this fauna. In the game, Sarco is an amphibian that lives near water and looks like a giant axolotl, the same size as Sarco. It has a very timid personality, and will immediately run away if the player or other creatures are nearby, and if attacked, it will run away as well, but if there is water nearby, it will run away. , and swim away into the water. However, when attacked, it becomes covered with a mucous membrane that increases its defense power, and the effect of this mucous membrane is powerful, cutting 95% of damage from attacks from enemies, preventing damage from entering, and protecting players and other creatures. When touches its mucous membrane, the effect of poor vision and attack power reduction is exerted. Also, the moment your health drops below 60%, you will be automatically given a health regeneration buff, allowing you to quickly recover your health. By the way, when it finds a fish, it usually attacks and preys on it, sometimes interfering with fishing and stealing it. Also, to check if there are any enemies nearby, it will make a gesture of smelling. How to tame To tame this creature, you will need Ghillie equipment and a fish cage. Although not required, having a tamed otter is very effective. If you catch a fish in a fish cage and secretly hand over the fish cage containing the caught fish while wearing Ghillie equipment, the fish inside will be eaten and the taming gauge will rise. Although he has a timid personality, he is friendly with otters, so if you place an otter nearby, his taming gauge will double the normal amount. However, please note that even if you are equipped with Ghillie, it will perform a sniffing action, so if it recognizes the player by smell, it will run away immediately and the taming gauge will be reset, so the sniffing action will not work. Once in, it's best to leave. Also, it is the same when attacked by enemies, especially when otters are attacked, so either check if there are any enemies around or build a facility to tame. After taming It is possible to ride a horse with a special saddle, and while riding a horse, the same effect as Diplocaulus will be exerted, and the player will be supplied with oxygen. In addition, when Timonya is attacked and her HP falls below 60%, she will automatically receive a HP regeneration buff to recover her HP quickly, but if the player is also attacked, Timonya will give her a ride Players who do so will also receive the buff, allowing them to quickly recover their health. Moreover, it eliminates all debuff effects such as coma value reduction, stamina recovery, and pollution. In other words, even just riding a horse can provide treatment. Moreover, just like in the wild, when attacked even once, it is covered with a mucous membrane that increases its defense power, and the effect of the mucous membrane is strong. , when a player or other creature comes into contact with its mucous membranes, they will experience poor vision and reduced attack power. This also applies to mounted players, making them nearly invincible. After that, you can quickly adapt to any environment. Extinction has a variety of environments, some of which are dangerous, but even those are disabled and can be safely ridden and traversed. It can run as fast as a Parasaurolophus, but when it comes into contact with water, it can temporarily run as fast as a Gallimimus. If you have any other ideas, please let me know in the comments.
  4. Glaucopsyche xerces Note* not good at drawing so no current photos. An Extinct butterfly near the regions of California, USA. The story of this creature is that the Survivors that lived on extinction was trying to save it from dying off. They were working on a Tek Variant of this creature. when they were finished with the design, they realized that the creature still existed by using its larvae to attach itself to a host, without a host it continues to grow into a butterfly. The creature would then mimic the hosts DNA, when the creature was in its juvenile stage it would then turn into a cocoon, growing bigger and bigger till it reaches adulthood breaking out of the cocoon the creature would then take the form of its host. A researcher was so fascinated by this creature that he sought ways to tame the creature. He found that mixing rare flowers and blood from blood pacts would do the trick and named the final product Blood lotuses. The Xerces was a passive aggressive creature but would still be territorial whenever the scent of blood was nearby. eventually the corruption happened and took over some of these creatures, they started mimicking survivors that died in the wild and it caused fear and panic amongst the survivors that some deemed it too dangerous to keep it near their homes. The researcher who who loved these creatures went out to do more research with a survivor who claimed they loved this creature and to be safe he had written down the information to tame these creatures and the way to ride them as well. He knew his life could be in danger at any given moment and made sure his work could be continued. later survivors found the researcher and the survivor that went with him as a corrupted in the wilderness. The information written from this researcher concludes below: the size of this creature is a large creature similar in size to a gasbag with wings. however, the form of the host the larvae attaches to is size it will grow to. these larvae tend not to have a need for oxygen, they have adapted to living in water similar to leeches. To tame the creature, requires the mixture of rare flowers and blood pacts to create blood lotuses. Using the Blood lotuses to attract the creature, you then have to stay alive as it uses you like a flower. however, you are being attacked by other creatures in the process if you are not careful. The saddle for the creature is unique as it fits 2 riders. the idea is similar to a hoversail 1 survivor is fitted on the front of the creature as the 2nd rider is on its back. in a regular environment the creature's wing attack acts like a psychedelic attack, it disorients the survivor as it inflicts damage from intense winds. (similar to mushrooms on abberation) when it attacks in the snowy areas it slows you down and the cold intensifies. when it attacks in an intense heat area like deserts it increases the heat and causes a survivor to catch on fire in rare cases. its special attack shoots a long stream of silk that wraps you in a cocoon like statue that you'll need to cut through. 3 variants of this creature exists: The Organic Xerces, The Tek Xerces and the Corrupted Xerces. The researcher was in love with the patterns of the xerces he added a way to create a new gliding suit using the Xerces as inspiration. Using the inspiration of butterfly wings for a new glider suit was really popular amongst the children despite how dangerous the creatures were in the eyes of the survivors. The Larvae babies of the butterfly when attaching itself to a host act like a clone/mimic of the host takes the same growth rate to reach adulthood. If a Carbonemys takes 28 hours to raise to adulthood so won't the larvae. ---- The reason of creating this creature is because tames like quetzals cost way too much shards that can't even be fit into a cloning chamber. Something unique that would be interesting to all parties from pve and pvp.
  5. another tame my son wanted to submit Rex's Asian cousin, this species seems larger than the ARK's rex, whereas back home it were the opposite. Tarbosaurus steintherium is a somewhat rare creature on Aberrant and standard Arks, similar to another carnivore, Carcharodontosaurus.Tarbosaurus took them head on in a battle of “king of the mountain”. This lead to Tarbosaurus's thick scuted armor, and its extremely powerful bite. Though still physically weaker than the bite of tyrannosaurus, Tarbosaurus's bones and jaw muscles have developed in such a way it allows it to crunch through dense objects with ease. Tarbosaurus's Furious strength and bulky resistance make it a popular choice for those who have to choose between it, Tyrannosaurus, and Carcharodontosaurus. Fear ability bleed ability great battle mount strong bite equal to carcha high damage blood rage
  6. THE ARACHNARE Basic Info: When you think of Extinction, you usually don't think of a normal dinosaur-looking creature. Unlike most other maps, the vast majority of new creatures introduced with the Extinction map are fantasy-related creatures, meaning that a new dinosaur creature wouldn't fit the theme of the map. Instead of a dinosaur, however, there are many other types of animals (and bugs) that can be used as a substitution. The Arachnare is a large spider-like creature with unique features making it fit in with other Extinction creatures such as the Velonosaur, Gacha, and Managarmr. Wild Creature Info: The Arachnare is an intelligent creature living in the wastelands and relying on other creatures to weaken its prey before it hunts. Since the Arachnare does not want to waste energy or its life attacking things that are bigger than it, it waits for its prey to become weak enough for it to snatch it up before the other creature hunting its prey is able to kill the prey. This would obviously upset the creature hunting, however the Arachnare is fast enough to escape any threats before it's attacked. When the Arachnare is attacked, however, if it does not have any prey, it will attack back. But, if the Arachnare is carrying its prey, for example if it's running away with its prey after stealing food from another creature, it will not attack back, but instead it will carry its prey and run away. However, if it gets weak enough, it will drop its prey and run. The Arachnare will also have a damage reduction for ranged weaponry, and can be used to counter the Velonosaur. Taming Info: To tame the Arachnare, the player must be of low enough health while near one, and then the Arachnare will grab the player and start running off with them, in an attempt to bring the player to a safe place to eat. However, when the Arachnare finds a place to eat, if the player is carrying a creature, the Arachnare will begin to eat the creature that the player is carrying, giving the player time to run away. This process must be repeated until the Arachnare has been tamed. Tamed Ability Info: Web Shooting Like the Araneo, the Arachnare has the ability to shoot webs, however these webs deal damage for as long as the target is stuck. For players that are webbed, there will be a large web blocking a large portion of their screen, making their visibility sharply decrease. These webs can be cut by a sword or other melee weapon and silk is needed as ammo for the web shooting. Wall Crawling Although many other creatures can crawl up and around vertical walls and terrain, the Arachnare is different. When crawling on these spaces, the Arachnare will become hidden, making it difficult to spot for creatures that are both hostile and passive. When the Arachnare shoots webs or attacks, its hidden ability will wear off, making it vulnerable to being seen by enemies. This hidden ability also works on other player turrets and dinos, decreasing the range that other players turrets and dinos can detect the Arachnare from. Cave/Nighttime Buff When inside of a cave, or during nighttime, the Arachnare will gain a buff. Wild Arachnare cannot receive this buff since they live primarily in the wastelands where it is always daytime. This buff will decrease the amount of damage intake the Arachnare has, and increase the duration of the webs that the Arachnare shoots. Underground Burrowing Like the Purlovia, Basilisk, and a few others, the Arachnare has the ability to burrow underground and hide from other creatures or players. This burrowing ability can be used to store items, however when inside of this burrow, the Arachnare is extremely vulnerable to explosives and surprise attacks, and if attacked while in the burrow, the Arachnare will come out of the burrow and drop any items that are in its inventory. Let me know what you think of my creature, and vote for it if you would like to see it in Extinction! Thanks :)
  7. Another one my son was excited to submit tame can mimic gunshots perfect for pvp to distract the enemy headbutt ability that renders enemy immobile for short period of time wing gust attack that pushes enemy away while allowing it to quickly get away bleed ability from its biteThis can quickly dive down the bill creates a clapping sound which scares of tames
  8. Another tame my son wanted to submit Though many think of them as reptiles, pangolins are actually mammals. They are the only mammals wholly-covered in scales and they use those scales to protect themselves from predators in the wild. If under threat, a pangolin will immediately curl into a tight ball and will use their sharp-scaled tails to defend themselves. Can roll into a ball and spin out for fast travel hardened plates on body make for great defense diet conisists of chitin excellent chitin harvester has a tail whip ability while spinning can grab enemies with tongue and pull in grinding them with there hard plates

  11. Common name: Alectrosaurus Species: Alectrosaurus corafulgur Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The effects that Element has on living organisms is both fascinating, and horrific. And the creatures that are able overcome the corruption, moreso. Take Alectrosaurus corafulgur for example. Its heart has nearly been taken over by Element! I have concluded that this unique adaptation has some ups and downs. On one hand, this so-called "Element enhancement" has greatly improved the Alectrosaurus’ agility, far beyond anything I've ever seen. However, with its heart practically exposed, it leaves Alectrosaurus with one big and obvious weak spot. Excessive damage to what is essentially a reactor core in its chest may provide… “explosive” results. If ever confronted by one, be sure to use this to your advantage! Domesticated: The Survivors I’ve met have been able to do some of the most extraordinary things with a domesticated Alectrosaurus. When asleep, an Alectrosaurus’ “heartbeat” produces a sort of pulse energy. Some have been able to harness this energy in a way to power their electronic systems not unlike a Tek Generator, no wires needed! Others have discovered that providing an Alectrosaurus with pure Element can enhance its physical abilities even further!
  12. omg i think its kinda messed up on how the titans are basically just die when the king titan does... bc most of the time, they were mindcontrolled by the king titan, and forced to do things idk if theyd be cool abt to do. its just sad that these guys just rot when the corruption is being cured, bc they were basically extentions of the king titan. idk i just feel like since these 3 are supposed to be a kind of big deal that they deserved at least a spot in the ascention cutscene, like their corpses or them fading away idk ???
  13. With ASA the UE5 upgrade coming out, I wanted to voice some concerns I had for missed opportunities for it and some of its DLCs releases from the ASE versions. First, is anything to make the world feel more alive would be an amazing start. These are all ideas to cherry pick from but all together would make an amazing experience exploring the map. Herding. Things we think of as Herding Species moving together in unison. Unless panicked for example. Seeking water with drinking animations when thirsty (even though creatures don’t have thirst meters a pseudo one just for effect could add a lot of realism when wandering around the map) Adding resting animations would do a lot also but would probably be difficult to add for each creature. Having preferred Prey, and/or Prey Sizes, that predators choose to hunt. Also if it can be done without making things to complicated, making smaller creatures of different species react and flee from something large, like a Rex, coming in and attacking something. Instead of everything of a different species just wandering around the attack obliviously and just waiting to be the next victim. Breath spout animations for marine mammals and reptiles, a tail slap on the water for whales diving would be an amazing touch. Things like ichthyosaurs and megalodon being able to breach the water surface like the manta ray. Adding splash effects when things interact with the water would really add a lot also. These are first because they are very surface level and not as important, but would add a lot to the over all visual experience of playing ARK. They are probably less likely to get added but would be a major benefit to the game as a whole. The next thing I would also like to suggest is focusing on Extinction in particular, and giving it another layer of gameplay rather than just "Get Mek Beat Titans". Also I would double check if Orbital Drop and Element Vein waves could use some rebalancing between solo players and tribes respectively. And a BIG one. I highly suggest exploring your options with the buildings in Sanctuary City: They could be PVP levels with just empty halls and rooms you can’t build in (but can build in on PVE/Single Player), they could hold mysteries and answers for the over all world story, or links to the animated series, they could have unique machines to use, or resources to gather, they could be a unique ecosystem for a new strange creature added to Extinction, (Huge Ugly Roaches/Bugs maybe) they could even lead to a new underground ecosystem that connects to the underground forest. Or a little bit of each. I just feel all those, or at least a few of those buildings not being explorable was a missed opportunity for that particular map. They could really add another dimension, and another unique reason to enjoy and replay Extinction. I always thought that you should have to accomplish something like flipping a switch in each bio-dome or something to unlock the first building in the city that you could go in. Then in the first building you could find a switch to unlock the next somehow, and so on and so forth to open all of them by clearing the building before it and stumbling across "the switch" to open the next. Making the map bigger as you explore them and find new things to help your journey. That would of been epic. More of a linear progression aspect than most maps have in ARK but I think with the right mysteries sprinkled throughout the journey, with 1 or 2 neat creatures only found inside, and maybe a mini-boss or two, could really breath a new life into Extinction and really set it apart. I just wanted to mention that if possible, please give the community maps that never got one, like The Center Map & Ragnarok, etc. the new official mod-map treatment of at least one-to-three unique creatures and a unique boss. An aquatic boss has been begged for and would fit a water-themed Center Map extremely well. A Kraken on Ragnarok does make sense though also. I just feel when you started doing that to the community maps it was a great idea that kind of spoiled us and now the other older community maps just feel lacking comparatively. Next, I would really like you guys to thoroughly test and rebalance a lot of the major events, like boss battles for each map, caves, etc. to be challenging but actually passable without having to cheat for the average player. Unless on hardest difficulty, but even hardest difficulty should still be passable by survivors without having to cheat in anyway. Grinding to get the gear and creatures you need is fine but at least double check all difficulties are passable for a solo player and still challenging for a tribe. That goes double for the missions of Genesis Expansions... This is the main reason I made this forum post: Genesis Missions Genesis Missions had some good concepts but some of them were insanely difficult, and others just repetitive... I would rebalance them and try to find ways to make them more of an enjoyable experience. I don’t know what is actually possible with that honestly… but I just feel with you rebuilding them it is a good opportunity to make them as fun as I think you intended originally for them to be, but maybe didn’t have the time to implement, or now with hindsight you might of thought you could of improved on. Maybe even a community submission of Fun Genesis Mission Ideas with community votes on them beforehand. I think Genesis had a lot more going on than it got credit for initially because some of it just didn’t mesh together as well as other parts of ARK. I just feel it’s a good chance to give it a little higher standing with survivors. New kinds of missions: like tranq taming a specific creature that rewards more hexagons the higher the level it tames out at. Mini-boss battles in specific locations that feel unique, like a specific fun defeat-mechanic for instance. (Zelda) Stealing eggs and getting away somehow without hurting the parents when they chase you. A for the most part, straight-away-Air-Race from one end of the Eden Ring, through space in the middle, and then continuing to the other end of the Rockwell Ring. All kinds of fun mini games could be added to replace the repetitive missions. I just think that all of them should feel more like a fun game rather than a difficult task even if it is presented as one. Last is making some of the insanely difficult tames and challenges a little easier that don’t really need to be so dang hard lol. Challenging is good but making us pull our hair out is not lol. Just making sure when you guys test play beforehand that you tame everything a few times in a row to really think how players will feel attempting to themselves. And run all the missions, caves and bosses a few times for the same reason also. Changing chain bola to the net gun for Tropeognathus for instance, making Amarga not so insanely difficult to tame along with others in its tier of just insane difficulty. Anything that you can not tame 2-3 of them in a row, without it being an all day event or a miserable experience, needs to be tweaked at least a little bit. They don’t need to be easy, just not irritatingly difficult. Just remember to make sure every major aspect of the game that you want all the players to routinely go through to clear a map/level are fun over just hard to beat. Everything should get you excited to attempt it, never discouraged or irritated. If you can accomplish that while adding new fun content to keep it fresh, and give every bit of the game from start to finish as much love and attention as it deserves, I think you will be alright with the ASA release at least. Really hope you consider these ideas and implement as many as makes sense, and is possible. I guarantee they will go over well. Especially for the price point argument. Thank you for your time.
