Citipati- The camouflaged egg thief and incubator
NotAtAllMalicious posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Hey there, fellow Ark players! I'm exited to present my submission for the amazing Citipati in this creature vote. I believe Citipati would make a fantastic addition to the game, or more specifically, Ragnarok, so let's dive into the details! Design and location: Citipati is a medium sized dinosaur slightly shorter than a Therizinosaurus, with a unique appearance. It stands upright, in a similar fashion to it's distant relative, the Gallimimus. With it's feathered body, it showcases vibrant and colorful plumage, adding a touch of beauty to Ragnarok. In terms of location, Citipati can be found roaming the deserts quite frequently, along with the grassy hill/ mountain around the wyvern trench and rarely in the canyon on the cliffs, making it a common sight scattered around the vast landscape of Ragnarok. Dossier: Wild: The Citipati is a fascinating dinosaur with remarkable behavior traits. Generally, it is not an aggressive creature, but it's demeanor changes drastically when it comes to protecting it's precious eggs. When approached by a potential threat, Citipati becomes extremely defensive and will not hesitate to pounce on anyone, or use it's sonic disorient to ward off anyone who dares encroach upon it's nesting grounds. Citipati is fiercely dedicated to it's eggs, never leaving them unattended. It stays within a close proximity of approximately 100 meters at all times, not even when chasing foes off, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of it's offspring. This level of commitment is unparalleled, and Citipati exhibits tremendous strength when defending it's nest. When intruders draw near, Citipati's protective instincts intensify, bolstering it's physical capabilities further. Domesticated: The tamed Citipati is an extraordinary creature that offers a variety of practical applications and utilities. Once tamed, it's unique abilities and characteristics make it a valuable asset in Ragnarok. Citipati's primary function revolves around it's exceptional talent for stealing wyvern eggs. Survivors can utilize it's stealthy nature, climbing skills and agility to infiltrate wyvern eggs without fear of retribution, as wyverns are not aggressive towards the Citipati. This extraordinary feat alone establishes the Citipati as an invaluable companion for those seeking to expand their collection of unique and powerful creatures. Abilities: Egg theft: Can pick up eggs without aggravating enemies and gets a 75 percent weight reduction on them Selective incubation: Can carry in it's arms a specific egg and incubate it Wall climbing: Can quickly scale a variety of surfaces, slide down them and jump from one wall to another Sonic Disorient: Can emit a powerful shriek, confusing enemies, and making them run away and occasionally attack other creatures Super jump: Can charge up a jump, and launch itself forward Biome-dependent camouflage: Color changes depending on what biome you are in, and when activated cuts aggression range from enemies in half I would love to hear your suggestions and ideas if you have any!-

Gigantophis in history was the first known sea snake. However, the Titanoboa was a constrictor snake in reality, however ark turned it into a viper. Why not flip the script? Gigantophis would be a massive snake, outgrowing the basalisk easily. They would be found around the eggs of other wild creatures where they would attempt to consume them whole, aswell as their parents. They do not bite and wait for venom to kill, Instead they wrap around creatures and choke them to death before swallowing them whole. Gigantophis however must defend its own eggs, leading them to hold their eggs in a special throat pouch in their gullet. Killing certain wild female specimens will lead them to drop their own eggs, allowing for taming While tamed the possibilities are many. Being able to bypass and immobilize massive health targets with a giant constrictor snake could act as a great counter to high health targets, and a reason to pump oxygen on tames. They could carry friendly eggs, Maybe even transport mass amount of players These massive snakes have a special taste for eggs of wyverns, leading them to be found close to their nests WE GONNA ADD SOME COMMENT IDEAS NOW Gigantophis may include sexual dimorphism, adding traits of horned rattlesnakes to males while keeping females fairly plain in terms of protrusions but having much more varied markings Oxygen drain from constricting creatures can be toggled by radial wheel, either becoming lethal and killing the creature or being more relaxed and only knocking them out. However, this would only work on creatures sufficiently sized so as to not be crushed by the weight of the massive snake. However it would be the most efficient way to knock out these creatures A big thing with this concept for Gigantophis is that it DOES NOT HAVE VENOM. It is purely a constrictor snake and not a viper like the in game titanoboa or basalisks. If it wants to bite something to death instead of constricting or swallowing it whole, it has to do so by slowly gnawing on a target. Gigantophis would be able to be escaped from, both wild and tamed. Similar to hacking a Strider or playing a Mammoth's war drum saddle. Hitting these checks consistently will allow the creature or player to break free from the grip of the snake. Going faster the more damage the creature can do to it. HOWEVER, if the creature fails any checks it will lose a burst of oxygen. Causing them to suffocate even faster. That and creatures that deal recoil damage when being hurt would be TERRIFYING counters to it. Such as Kentros or the KBD Ankylosaurus Also this is an idea from a friend but the idea of making this thing able to hold its breath for a long time, allowing it to be used as a deadly aquatic creature on other maps it may be transferred to. Choking out creatures as it drags them into the depths. IMPORTANT For those reading this far you've likely seen or heard of the LoadedCrysis video on this suggestion. ONLY VOTE FOR IT IF YOU LIKE IT. No one should be using their community to get a creature into the game. I'm happy that people like my idea, but I don't want a following to be the reason it gets in.
