  1. Introducing Spectrovenator! Wild This tough little scavenger is an interesting case. While wild Spectrovenator are mostly docile animals that keep to themselves, when a corpse is nearby, they turn into something fierce. Despite their small stature, they can certainly punch up their weight class. I’ve seen quite a few of these land buzzards fight tooth and nail over any abandoned corpse in the general area. Unlike their larger cousin the Carnotaurus, these guys evolved lacking arms in favor of a spiky-chestplate that they’ll use to throw around anything that dares interrupt their rotting meals. Domesticated Spectros may be tricky to earn the trust of, but can certainly be done, even by newer survivors. Seeing that Spectros tend to lounge around carcasses, and are constantly fighting off any potential thieves, aiding a Spectro in defending its corpse is the key to this animal’s iron heart. Once you do gain the trust of a Spectro though, they prove to be some loyal things. So much in fact, they seem to understand commands from very long distances somehow, and are essentially the perfect scout. Being able to send a stocky but swift lookout to scope out or explore unknown areas without risking your own life is one powerful ability. Not to mention that even if capable of brawling, they can still recover from a tough situation via eating from any nearby carcasses. And I haven’t even mentioned the versatility these handy scouts have, considering I’ve seen tribes utilizing a plethora of harnesses that serve several purposes for varying situations! I’ve seen harness utilities ranging from storage, to armor, to even guns! That said, each saddle seems to have a slot where specimen implants can be placed. Survivor’s Best Friend Spectrovenator is an early-game scout that has a theme that is based around loyalty. Spectrovenator, unlike any existing tame in-game, can be controlled without your survivor actually having to ride it. Instead, you take the POV of the Spectrovenator, and begin playing from there, similar to the Tek Drone in a way. Your survivor will stay in the place where you leave them until you exit scout mode with your Spectro, then you’ll return to your survivor’s POV. This ability allows you to scope out, clear, or explore areas without having to risk your survivor or your must-need items. Extinction is a dangerous map! Being able to scope out the corrupted wastelands, harsh winter Proto-Ark, or the deadly desert Proto-Ark is something that early game players may find difficult, and these perfect scouts may offer a mighty fine solution for this, as well as other needs if need be. This is aided by Spectrovenator’s kit mostly being based around survivability, so don’t fret about your little buddy getting killed with ease too much. This creature is surprisingly tough for its size, stronger than raptor tier for sure. (~400 hp, ~30 damage) Spectro actually benefits through multiple ways as you level up too, so don’t think this guy will be useless once you reach a certain stage, unlike other early game tames. Attacks and Abilities Bite [LMB] - A simple attack where the Spectro bites forward, thrusting it’s sharp chin into its target as well Charge [Hold RMB] - Similar to the Trike’s charge attack, except it can be activated while moving. Hitting something with the charge does high damage, knockback, and a slowdown effect. Tail Spin [C] - The Spectro whips its body around in a 360, dealing knockback and light damage to anything hit. Jump [SPACE] Focus [X] - Focuses on a creature, structure, natural object, or storage container where your crosshair relies, telling you information such as stats, level, or what lies inside. Imagine a cross between a spyglass and magnifying glass. Sense (PASSIVE) - Can tell when creatures are low on health, like a Dire Wolf. Restore (PASSIVE) - Grants a healing effect after biting a corpse, like Argentavis. Drift (PASSIVE) - Similar to Andrewsarchus, Spectro drifts when making sharp turns while running to provide extra mobility and traversing large, tricky wastelands. Harness Up Spectro has several tiers of different “harnesses” that can be unlocked as you level up (These harnesses act similar to Hyaenodon Meat Packs, act as armor, placed in saddle slot, but cannot be ridden.) They’d go in order such as this: Low Level - Pack Harness: This harness is simple, acts as minor armor, heavily increases the weight of Spectrovenator, and gives it smithy properties as well. Mostly intended for transferring resources from one place to another, as well as allowing you to craft stuff on the go (even when in Scout Mode! Don’t ask how Spectro knows how to craft.) Moderate Level - Guard Harness: This harness is a bit more complex, it provides the best armor out of all harnesses, as well as it deals recoil damage to anything that attacks it with this equipped. On top of these, this harness prevents it from being picked up. Someone on their wyvern trying to take your guard dog sky high? No more. High Level - Battering Ram Harness: This harness provides decent armor, and grants the charge attack on Spectro the ability to stun creatures and other survivors, as well as damaging structures. The charge will damage every tier of building, up to Tek. Damage on buildings will vary depending on the grade of the harness. Highest Level - Battlement Harness: This harness provides minor armor, and an automatic machine gun. It does consume ammunition, but this harness provides a weight decrease on all ammunition. Soul Collector Every harness that you can unlock for the Spectrovenator has a slot that you can place any Specimen Implant inside. It can be your own, or someone else’s. Placing a Specimen Implant inside Spectrovenator increases its defense, stamina regeneration, and health regeneration. The effects of these depends on how high of a level/tier the implant placed in the harness is. Higher the tier, stronger the effect. This promotes the idea that a Spectrovenator you own grows stronger as you do, working alongside you. Taming Wild Spectrovenators love corpses, but don’t ACTUALLY eat them in game. They tend to lounge around them, wandering within a certain radius of the corpse. Enter that radius, and it’ll aggro onto you. Leave that radius for a short amount of time and it’ll return to the corpse. (Note that wild Spectrovenators without a claimed corpse are entirely neutral, only attacking if provoked first. You’ll need to bring it to a corpse or bring a corpse to it.) While a Spectro is guarding a corpse, you’ll need to get close to it via Sneaking, Ghillie Armor, or Bug Spray, and feed it a piece of Spoiled Meat. This will activate a sort of “mini-supply drop” event. During this, the Spectro no longer aggros on you, you cannot harm it, and you cannot harvest its claimed corpse anymore. Around the corpse, waves of low tier creatures will spawn (raptors, dilos, compies) around it, and will aggro onto the corpse. As you kill these enemy creatures, the taming progress goes up. For a low level, killing a Dilo and Raptor should be enough for you to earn the Spectro’s loyalty. For a higher level, you’ll need to put in some more elbow grease. The bigger the corpse, the more health it will have and the harder it will be for the enemy creatures to destroy. The more damage you do, the higher the taming effectiveness, so don’t force the Spectro to do all the work for you. In fact, if you fail to protect the corpse, the Spectro will then aggro onto you. Good luck. In Conclusion... Spectrovenator provides scouting like no other, with unlimited range, great survivability, and the ability to keep your survivor safe and sound at your leisure as this loyal scamp scopes for anything that may provide interest to you. Spawns in the Tek City of Extinction for ease and convenience, immersive taming for any level, and benefits for any player, no matter how far into the game you are!
  2. Welcome to my creature submission! I thought that for Extinction, we should vote for the feathered Arizonasaurus! Common name: Arizonasaurus Species: Arizonasaurus pudicitia Time: Middle Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Timid(Aggressive to corrupted creatures) Wild: I’m certain that the corruption would have long destroyed Earth if Arizonasaurus pudicitia wasn’t around. This feathered ctenosauriscid seems to have a hatred for the corruption to a point where these normally timid critters would chase down any corrupted creatures and even do increased damage to the corrupted. This is interesting since normally they run at the first sign of danger. Tamed:When tamed, Arizonasaurus is a incredible ally towards those that explore the wastelands. It’s corrupted sail on it’s back can protect the riders from the wasteland’s effects and gets a buff when killing corrupted creatures similar to the megatherium. Once you befriend this fluffy croc by passively feeding in meat while it sniffs something shiny, you would not have to worry about traveling the wastelands anymore. So what I propose what the Arizonasaurus could do is that when you ride it, you would be immune to the wasteland’s debuff for the rider as well as bleed and freezing for your Allies I’m a small to medium range. It could also have a smithy saddle, get a buff when it kills a corrupted creature that increases it’s healing and attack strength by 2x, and it would be a woolly rhino sized early game mount learning the saddle at level 28 as well as being able to make it easy for early game travel to the biome domes. Taming: To tame the Arizonasaurus, you have to throw a stack of metal ingots ( It’s preferred to split a stack of metal ingots by one) then you passively feed it meat while it sniffs the metal ingot. It’s recommended to use ghili to get close and to put up any nearby tames so that you don’t spook it. It’s favorite food are corrupted nodules but raw mutton and raw prime meat work as well. Left Click: A standard bite that you can do while you are running. Right Click: A shoulder bash attach that can’t be done while moving and does knock back C:A claw slash that can harvest silica and black pearls X: A tail spin attack that does 360 degree damage and could do bleed but can’t be spammed Control: a roar for aesthetics In conclusion, I think the Arizonasaurus would be the perfect addition to the map and I hope this at least gets into the finals. If someone could make a dossier and creature design, you will be credited. Let’s get Arizonasaurus into Extinction!
  3. Introducing the Pachy Lemur! It's Basically a giant lemur that is good for pvp, travel, building, crafting, boss fights, and early game. It has a few different variants based on its location on the map for example: the Ring-tailed pachy lemur is only found in the desert biome. If the pachy lemur would getting added to asa it would come with a new item, the mango! The mango is not only like a new food source but it is the only way to tame a pachy lemur. You can't tame the corrupt pachy lemurs. Wild ------------------------------- In the wild pachylemur insignis can only be found in troops. If the troops have baby pachylemurs the troop will be protective and aggressive if you come to close THIS IS NOT LIKE THE DINOPITHUECUS THAT WOULD BE MEAN anyway if you have mangos on you or the troop doesn't have a baby it will be docile. If the troop has a baby and you get to close the troop leader, basically and alpha pachy lemur will let out a war cry and every troop member is boosted by a 20% heath, speed, and stam boost. The Pachy lemur is also very different in each biome, the desert having the Ring-tailed pachy lemur, The snow having the Black and White ruffed lemur, The Wasteland has the corrupt aye-aye that has a 0.5% chance of being non corrupt. The Indri the Largest Pachy lemur is found in the sunken forest. Finally the Red ruffed pachylemur lives in the sanuaury. If you drop a mango on the ground near a troop the leader will inspect the mango and based on the freshness of the mango (its just the spoil time) the leader will drop a tool, weapon or amor on a certain rank based on the mangos spoiled time and how much were dropped. I wanted to make this creature have a unique ability like the gacha or snow owl. Domesticated ---------------------------------------------- To tame the pachylemur you need mangos and to do that you need to get mango seeds for certain trees and then you need to plant the seed in crop plots and wait for your mango trees to grow. Once you have mangos you need to find a troop if the doesn't have a baby you can passive tame the troop leader with mangos to gain its trust and then you can passive tame one of the troop members to completely tame it. You can also TAME THE ENTIRE TROOP AT ONCE by continuing to feed the troop leader after after you gain his trust (it will take a lot more mangos). Troop leader taming is a quick way to build up and army. If you use ghille you can tame troops with babys in them and if you tame the troop you can imprint on the babys. The saddle of the Pachylemur is double seated and the pachylemur can carry a lot and even hold creatures in their tails allowing for a quick escape incase of a raid. The saddle also has a smithy on it similar to the argentavis. If you put a blueprint into the pachylemurs inventory it will memorize it incase you lose the blueprint, it will also teach its offsprings the blueprints. All pachylemurs can climb up walls and jump from tree to tree. The pachylemurs have different abilities based on their location. The pachylemurs in the snow protoark can throw snow balls that cause blindness. The Ring-tailed Pachylemurs can grab creatures with its tail. The pachy lemurs in the sanuaury can harvest mangos from trees. The Aye-Ayes can grab creatures with their claws and harvest sap and chitin from trees. The Indri is just very big.
  4. Hello! Extinction was the first map I ever played on when I first bought ARK in 2018 and it's been one of my favourites since! BUT, there is something that I had recently noticed about it and that was the fact it didn't have its own shoulder pet like the other story maps do! INTROUDCING THE STINKBOMB! The Stinkbomb can be found all over the wasteland, where it blends in with the other Corrupted Creatures of the map. Because of this, large Corrupted Creatures, like the Rex and Giga, barely notice it! Non Corrupted and Smaller Corrupted Creatures, like the Raptor and Dilo, do notice it and will try and kill them! Once the Stinkbomb gets below 50% of its health it will play dead and release a gas, with a effect similar to Chalicotherium's poops, which will drive away whatever is attacking it! The Stinkbomb will be "Playing Possum" for 30 seconds, which will give the player an opportunity to sneak over to it and tame it! They have a taming method similar to the Astrodelphis in Genesis: Part 2, where you have to feed them Kibble (Their favorite!) to tame them. Depending on the level, they will want certain tiers of Kibble. Once they wake up, they will run away, but curiously follow you from a distance for a certain amount of time. If they see you walking up to them, they will pass out again (Watch out! They will still release the gas!) and you then have a opportunity to feed them more Kibble! Repeat this process until you tame your new friend! What does your new little friend do? The Stinkbomb helps you tame creatures faster! I love taming creatures in ARK, but the food drain on a lot of them is painfully slow. The Stinkbomb will release a gas from it that will slowly decrease the hunger on any creature you are trying to tame! The stats for the Stinkbomb work the same as a light pet from Aberration! With Stamina being how long the smells will be released, Oxygen being how fast it will regenerate said lost smells and Melee being the range at which the appetizer effect will effect its surroundings! You can also craft a "Appetizer Grenade" in its inventory that will effect players, tamed and wild creatures! Recipe: 20x Narcoberries, 15x Stimberries, 5x Spoiled Meat, 1x Smoke Grenade. Dossier (Please note: I'm not good at English, so apologies if there are any mistakes!) "I never thought I would see Trichosurus Vulpecula ever again when I left Oz, but here they are surviving rather well. These little guys have managed to blend in with the corrupted creatures of the wasteland, rather that be their decaying color scheme or the element within them to trick the corrupted creatures isn't certain. Wild: Like their western relative, when they are a target to predators they will, depending on the creature, either outrun them or "Play Possum" and ammit a foul smell that will chase away whatever is trying to eat them. Once they are in the clear they will jump back up and continue scavenging around for anything they can find to eat. Tamed: Other then their foul smelling magic trick, these guys have the ability to also give off a smell that makes creatures loose their appetite quicker then normal. This makes taming creatures a lot quicker. This ability can also be used to make what I like to call “Appetizer Grenades”, these can be crafted in the possums inventory which it can then be throw to creatures (or people) that are to far away to reach. This makes these guys the real Stinkbomb."
  5. ANOMALOCARIS ----------------------------------------------------- BEHAVIOR Anomalocaris is a passive creature that spends its time in shallow ocean waters ( think of the east archipelago or the lava islands ) most of its time is spent dredging through the sand using its podomeres (those tentacles by its mouth) which kicks up a rich sand cloud, various resources and its preferred prey: Trilobites. When it finds a trilobite the Anomalocaris grabs it, cracks open its shell, and slurps out its delicious meat inside, however the trilobite is the only creature that the Anomalocaris gives any cares about. TAMING Anomalocaris is a simple tame and it would prove useful in early game and in late game, as stated before, the taming process is simple. A player simply needs to throw chitin and raw meat in the path of the Anomalocaris while its dredging for food, this works because Anomalocaris isn't the smartest of creatures and it believing that the player has given it a trilobite to eat. MOBILITY For what it is, Anomalocaris is pretty speedy in the water it can beat an itchy in a race but mantas are quite a bit faster, to reach these speeds Anomalocaris extends its podomeres to use them as hydrofoils. OXYGEN SUPPLY Similar to Diplocaulus, Anomalocaris has a supply of oxygen that gets trapped under its flipper plates and in its podomeres that can be accessed and used by players who are riding it, this oxygen supply is replenished any time the Anomalocaris exits the water BEACHING Anomalocaris is able to beach itself on the land for storage and to replenish its oxygen reserves, it does not dry out on the land and it is able to move however it is very slow and cannot attack while on the land. DREDGING as mentioned above Anomalocaris is an earlygame and a lategame tame, Dredging is where its lategame utility comes in to paly. When set to wander Anomalocaris will bury its podomeres into the ground and start moving around throught the sediments, the items that Anomalocaris pulls out of the ground is determined by the elevation that it is dredging at which is spilt into 4 different regions. Surface near the surface of the ocean such as a beach Anomalocaris is able to find resources that are useful for earlygame, the list of items is: Chitin, Stone, Thatch, Raw Fish, and Metal. Deep Water this area is found near the middle of the ocean, not at the sea floor but still a ways from the surface, here Anomalocaris will dredge up items useful for midgame the list of resources is: Cementing Paste, Raw Fish, Metal, Silicate (that one resource from extinction) and Obsidian. Abyssal The Center's oceans are very deep and here is where Anomalocaris is able to get many untapped resources, and the list of those is: Silicate, Obsidian, Black Pearls, Raw Prime Fish, Raw Fish, Metal, and rare element dust. Mountain There are quite a few small lakes found in the higher parts of the map, but the main spot to dredge would be the big lake of the center island, dredging here will give you: Organic Polymer, Cementing Paste, Raw Meat, Raw Prime Meat, and Metal. WHY? Anomalocaris marks an important point in the evolution of life as it was the largest creature for its time and its widely seen as the first apex predator, its also been a creature I've wanted to see in game for a long time. BASING IN REALITY A recent study has shown that Anomalocaris wasnt able to crunch down on trilobites too easily, instead its podomeres were used as hydrofoils for bursts of speed and agility. thank you for reading
  6. Species: Enaliarctos Nix Time: Late Oligocene Diet: Piscivorous Temperament: Curious Wild: Enaliarctos Gigas is a medium-sized carnivore found in the vast waters from The Center. It seems to be very interested in humans, often approaching and following them sometimes off the water. Also finds enjoyment bullying Cnidarians, Electrophorus and Mantas without any apparent consequences. While on land they are not bothered by any predator smaller than a Carnotaur. Domesticated: This is the perfect mount for someone starting to venture into the harsh depths of the open ocean. Although clumsy on land, calling it a swift swimmer would be an understatement. Its naturally fluffy body insulates itself and the rider from the cold and reduces the oxygen consumption deeper they go. A saddle is not needed to ride it, but it is useful for carrying another passenger. This prehistoric seal can sense danger near it and on top of that some people assure Enaliarctos enhances their fishing loot. Taming one these is actually pretty easy. Handing them a fish is the way to effectively tame one.. They are particularly interested in piranhas. Taming Method: Giving it fish corpses, being the most effective piranhas. (Lvl 20 is required) Abilities: Boosts fishing loot (Must be mounted) Reduces oxygen consumption from the rider the deeper they go (When dismounted the effect lasts 30 seconds) Full Thermal insulation Reduced weight: Biotoxin(75%), Silica/Black Pearls(50%), Oil(50%) Immune to shock Radar (Underwater) Drives off small/medium sized land predators Drops: Pelt, meat and hide
  7. Dossier:it seem that the Trayenia is a very impressive hunter the Trayenia will use it jaw and leach outta the water to grab it prey it is about the size of a allosaurus and is a sub species of the Spinosaurus this creature can go very high speed faster then then kaprosuchus they also seem to love to eat eggs.they mostly spawn as males but the females seem to spawn in bright color most likely to attract males.they get speed and defense buffs when they eat they own eggs this keep they gene strong and which give them the boost in power they are mostly cannibals and they rarely eats other creature they can go under ground and create mud trap which went animals step onto be stuck for certain time depending on the creature the bigger the creature the longer they stay trap.they also seem to be able to harvest wood and crystal and thatch very good. Taming:too tame them you need to get fertilized eggs.when you are taming them you feed them a egg then run away till they ready to eat again.when they are fully tame they can be insanely good for swimming and for that behaviors: they are passive but went too close too them when they are full they will attack you and drag you in the water slowly killing you and drowning you they will often be in groups of two went they will gang a pack boost while next too eachother. The different between the female and male the female have very nice colors and have round small spikes on they back and head while the males have dark colors and have sharp spikes on they back and head also tail.the female have a special ability which is they acid claw which is a claw attack which is heat up the person being attack until they dead and with the male they have a acid bite which does the similar effect attack: Female bite attack acid claw lunge (only when in water) mud trap Attack: male acid bite claw attack lunge(only when in water) mud trap
  8. Name: Melanorosaurus Time: Triassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Docile The melanorosaurus is an early Triassic sauropodomorph that can hold and create its own water. The creature would naturally graze on cacti in the center of the Scorched desert. When tamed, this creature would store water in its large hump as it consumes cactus, used later for consumption. it could be tamed by feeding it a unique item crafted from cactus and sap, two materials any player can get on Scorched. The usefulness of this dinosaur would be comparable to a morellatops, with the gathering of water and berries. This dinosaur would be a wonderful way to travel around as it would allow near-infinite water and wouldn't need to stop at water veins or the river like the morellatops. Wild: This creature would utilize Ark SA's new foliage mechanics to automatically consume and harvest cactus. The more cactus it eats, the more taming effectiveness the player would gain. Once enough cactus is consumed, the player can feed it a "Sticky Salsa" made from cactus and sap from Joshua trees. Ability: As this creature eats cactus sap, it will generate water. The conversion would be around 10 sap per 1 water. This would allow for survivors to travel away from the center of the map and not be limited by the water veins scattered about. You could gather a large amount of sap and travel to areas such as the dunes or mountains and not need to worry about gathering water in canteens.
  9. As you know, in Ark we have the Titanomyrmas that we always find in the ecosystem, they only appear to bother us at the beginning of the game. These annoying ants do not have a single function in the game, other than being sacrificed to get their chitin.but now with Queen Titanomyrma they can be useful:Queen TitanomyrmaA queen always has to have subjects that follow her everywhere, either to defend her or to get resources for her. The arrival of the Queen Titanomyrma in the Ark is perfect to bring order and put to perfect use the lost normal titanomyrmas that wander aimlessly through the forests.Wild: they will be found in where many resources abound, these queens will always be found within their anthills, if any creature approaches them, whether hostile or not, a small army of tytanomyrmas will come out of the anthill (flying and not flying) to get rid of it.Tame: - Option 1: Although getting closer will be a bit difficult, with the help of the queen bee's honey we will be able to get closer to the anthill, we just have to throw the honey in a place and the whole army of ants will go after it. The queen Titanomyrma will see your goodness by not killing any of her subjects and she will begin to trust you, she will come out of the anthill and you can have her on your shoulder, the wild ants will not attack you, here begins the taming: you must start killing the enemy natural of all Ark insects: The Megatherium. Once several megatherios have been killed, the queen will have placed all her trust and will decide to be your adventure companion.- Option 2: Approaching the anthill, killing the entire army of ants that comes out of there, and mercilessly destroying the anthill, this will make the Queen Titanomyrma storm out, determined to attack you, continuously taking out minions that will drain your stamina with each attack. Once we manage to kill the ant queen, we will have a chance to get an egg from her inventory, which if we incubate it well, will result in a Queen Titanomyrma larva.Domesticated: PVP: - The queen Titanomyrmas, once tamed, can climb on their owner's shoulder and when ordered to do so, they can release pheromones that will attract all the wild titanomyrmas that are nearby, putting them under their control. When the pheromones wear off, the titanomyrmas will revert to their original state and become hostile.- Also the Queen Titanomyrmas can create their own minions, from time to time, which can drain the stamina of our enemies and make them slow, this will serve as a lot of support when we are in the middle of a fight with another tribe and they have fast dinosaurs and ours are slow.- anthill mode : anthill modelike the queen bee it can become a honeycomb or hive. The queen titanomyrma can become an anthill, it will have 2 modes:- The first mode will be the turret mode, which will help in some way to defend the base by continually taking out ants, they will not drain stamina with each attack but they will reduce speed and health by a small percentage.- The second mode is the farm mode, which I will explain in the pve part.PVE:- Option 1: The farm mode is simple, when the queen is in the form of an anthill, she can be told to farm all the resources in the area (the queen will order her subjects to do so and the resources will appear in the anthill's inventory) but in quantities it will be very small when we collect them ourselves with our hands, this mode will also make trees, bushes, rocks, metal and any other resource appear faster as the Stryders do, of course you could also indicate some specific resource that we want it to collect.- option 2: instead of collecting resources, they just collect all the products of the crops of our farms.
  10. Introducing the Frill-Necked-Lizard I have come across many creatures skilled in the art of surviving this hostile desert, but surely none escapes the clutches of death as often as the Frill-Necked-Lizard. It's just a bit taller than the average survivor, consequently it's on the menu of most predators. However, it's many survival tactics make it almost impossible to catch. First and foremost it blends in flawlessly in the desert, which means many predators don't notice it until they are almost upon it, but there is more. Most animals tend to fight to survive or band together in herds, but these lizards are loners and their bite hurts as much as a bee sting, so they pose no threat to anything. Except to bugs, which seem especially vulnerable to the lizards. But many habitants of this desert don't seem to know that. When a predator surprises a Frill-Necked-Lizard it will stand on its hind legs, open its frill and hiss threateningly. This of course is a bluff, but you would be surprised to hear that I have seen even medium sized wolf packs get scared off this way. These lizards are no one trick pony, either. Should the intimidation fail, they run, and run they can. They are the fastest land creature in this god forsaken place, besides Gallis and the scaled flying beasts. The only downside of their running is that they have to stop to regain their stamina once in a while, but this usually doesn't take long. For whatever miraculous reason they have no need for this during heat waves. When the sun shows its most cruel face these the lizards can run tirelessly and are a good bit faster than they already are under normal circumstances. I like to think that it is because the sand is so hot. Running, however useful it is, isn't the last of the lizards defense mechanisms. Should it find itself in trouble it will shed part of its tail, which will move around wildly and attract the attention of every predator close by, so the main body can safely escape. After some time the tail regrows. In the meantime the lizard relies on its last trick. Burrying. The Frill-Necked-Lizard can burry itself either while standing still and even directly from a sprint. Once underground nothing but the fine noses of wolves can find it. Wild lizards spend most of their time underground with the tip of their tails poking out. This is how they attract bugs, which mistake the tail for food and once they bite the tail the lizard strikes at its meal. Tamed these creatures prove extremely useful. While caravans often prefer to transport large amounts of goods through Morellatops, scouts and explorers value the lizards speed and escape tactics. Gameplay Size: A bit taller than a large survivor. Food: Meat. Availability: Early game. Saddle should unlock around level 20, possibly it could be ridden without a saddle, but watch out, it's really fragile. Strenghts: Speed: This lizard is fast. It can outrun any predator in the desert, except wyverns. Think almost Galli speed. Camouflage: Works like ghillie so predators need to get close to aggro. Perfect for early game on SE, where you can't take a step without something trying to eat you. Weaknesses: Low torpor: Especially snakes are a threat. A couple of hits and you're out. Fragile: Don't let it get attacked, this lizard can't take a punch. Taming method: You have to find a burried lizard, either through a wolfs sniffing ability or you have to follow a lizard until it burries itself, but don't come too close with tames or it might try and run. Once it is underground you have to sneak up on it and drop its preferred taming food on its tail. The lizard will jump up, eat the kibble, run away and reburry itself. Repeat the process until it's tamed. Abilites: Left click: Simple bite that barely does any damage, except to bugs. Right click: Intimidation. This works similar to a Parasaurs frightening ability. Any hostile creature close by will get scared and run away. This will work on wolves with a pack of up to 4, if there are more wolves they will not run away. Sabertooths, Terrorbirds and Daedons always get scared, anything up from Carnos and Thorny Dragons won't run away. C Button: Tail Shed. This will drop the tip of the Lizards tail, which distracts all close by predators so you can safely escape. The tail regrows after about an hour. Shedding the tail will cost a bit of health. X Button: Burrowing. This will make predators lose interest in the lizard and move on. You can burry yourself while riding the lizard. Other possible abilites: Climbing from a sprint. Frilled Lizards can run up trees and stay there, so why not make them be able to run up trees and rocks from a sprint, even if it's not much. Lesser antidote maker. Why not give the Frilled Lizard a buff after it kills a scorpion / bug which allows the rider to cheaply craft antidotes in its saddle? This might be too much though. Bonus gimmick: During heat waves it won't use any stamina while sprinting and it will receive a 10% speed buff. This lizard loves it hot, or maybe it won't stop running because the sand is too hot. Why vote for the Frill-Necked-Lizard? It's an early game tame that is not only goofy and strange, but also incredibly useful without being OP. And if that doesn't convince you, look at that little baby lizard down below, trying to intimidate you.
  11. ABOUT THE REAL THING Vespersaurus paranaensis is a species of noasaurine theropod dinosaur that lived in the deserts of prehistoric Brazil between the Coniacian and Turonian periods of the Cretaceous, measuring 80 centimeters in height and 1,6 meters in lenght INACCURATE GOODNESS Vespersaurus pteras measured 1,6 meters in height and 3,2 meters in lenght, doubling down on its real life counterpart. Feeding primarely on pterosaurs and small creatures found on scorched earth, it is passive to anything bigger than a Human. This dinosaur has the incredible ability to endure all of the hard conditions of the desert with ease, a characteristic only found in the biggest of creatures, like Wyverns and Titanosaurs. It is tamed with you having to help it hunt lots of small things like Lystros, Moschopses and Jerboas by weakening them and letting the Vespersaurus finish the job. Once tamed this unique animal will grant you, your tribemates, and your tames a effect that increases your fortitude and stamina stats by 50% and decreases your food and water loss by 50% until death of the animal, helping you better survive the desert, can also be saddled at lvl 25 to use stats similar to raptor, although weaker. FINISHING OFF I play this game since im 10 and i love it So much. i hope you guys enjoy this creature idea, even if it doesnt get picked im still happy to have tried, sorry for any bad english as im not a native speaker
  12. Wild Eoraptor is a small, intelligent creature that can be found almost anywhere, living in burrows with their family groups. These groups typically consist of 2-3 adults and many hatchlings. Eoraptor has evolved to be incredibly smart, on par with the intelligence of crows or even higher. They often exhibit very curious behavior and will sometimes approach humans on the island, bringing them gifts and rare trinkets like metal, flint, and survivor implants. It is not known how they acquire these items, but they seem to have a fascination with them. This makes me raise even more questions about the other inhabitants of the island as they shouldn't be as smart as they sre with how small their brain is. Domesticated Eoraptor is not typically used for combat, and is far too small for mounts. but they can be tamed and raised as pets. They have a natural affinity for humans and will often follow them around, even joining human tribes or lone survivors without the need to knock them out and feed them. And even use this behavior with non humans hiding behind other creatures for protection. Once tamed, Eoraptor can be trained to gather resources or act as a companion on the island. They are highly intelligent and can be taught a variety of tasks. Mainly these are advanced tasks like feeding and activating hidden electronics. It is important to note that while Eoraptor is not aggressive, they are easily frightened and will often flee at the first sign of danger this raptor is ment to help early game survivors with small tasks and getting rare resources as well as helping out around larger bases they would work where you can whistle a eoraptor to a task like a creature or electronic device then when you whistle to them they begin doing said task and they’d add some more ways to automate you base say you want a way to activate a hidden Tran send a eoraptor. All in all they make a fun early game tame TL;DR smart raptor that helps out around a base
  13. Ischigualastia is a large, herbivorous reptile that can be found near water . They are known for their carefree demeanor as they shovel food into their mouths, but their stupidity can often get them into trouble. They will defend their territory against any perceived threats, even if it means attacking something much larger and stronger than themselves. They have a truly unique aspect as they can't handle narcotics well and a few narco berries send them into a drugged state. Once an Ischigualastia has been drugged, it becomes much more trusting of humans. Even if it has not been tamed, it will defend the one who drugged it, as well as any nearby humans. It is unclear why they become so trusting after being drugged, whether it's misplaced trust or simple stupidity is unknown, Though I lean towards them forgetting you aren't a member of the herd and thus leaving you alone Domesticated: While not the smartest creatures, Ischigualastia can make for a good early game defense against most things. They can be tamed and trained to defend a specific area, and will attack anything that comes too close. Their trust in the one who drugged them carries over to their tamer, making them fiercely loyal the Ischigualastia is as said dumb it’s survival is a mystery but they make good early game defense until you can get something good Yes I missed the scorched earth part but I have enough ideas for a new game so I changed it
  15. The idea, dossier, and concept included in this post were all created by me, I welcome feedback, thoughts and suggestions. (Also if you notice any glaring flaws in the dossier be sure to let me know and I'll fix 'em) Longisquama is a unique reptile that is most notable for the fossils of its frond-like feathers sticking straight out of its back. This specific depiction of longisquama is a love-letter to the inaccuracies for the sake of design seen in so many of arks other dinosaurs, in that it directly references one of the more outlandish reconstructions of longisquama, bare in mind I'm no paleontologist I'm only repeating a few things I've heard over the years. Pitch: ● Early Game Tame, Late Game viability - Everyone loves tames accessible from the start, especially when they are able to maintain relevancy later into the game. I imagine the Longi could be tamed early on, simply get a leach attached to you and have it eat it off you to contribute about a third of the taming bar. The kicker is that to get maximum effectiveness you will have to find a diseased one (The Aberrant variant would simply use lampreys and still gain the full taming effectiveness but not contribute as much to the taming progress). So we've established that it's easy to tame early on but requires late game or at least a lot of effort to get max effectiveness, why put such an emphasis on its potential use in this way? Well I think the benefits the longisquama provides will allow it to be useful into late game just as much as early game. ● Spear Generation: Passively generates quills in its inventory, attempting to fire without any quills in your inventory will quickly generate 10 quills at a heafty cost of stamina stacking beyond ten occurs at a lower rate without consuming stamina and would cap around 50 for a level 30 at 150 for a level 80 and around 250 for a 150 just to get a basic idea. By holding attack with an empty hand and a longi on your shoulder you reach behind you and snatch a quill off its body, this quill will now act as a spear that scales damage based on the longi's mele. Quills cannot actually be taken out of a longi's inventory. With high mele I could see this being comparable to a high quality pike, though I would love some PvP players input on this as I only have an idea of how my ideas will effect balancing from a PvE perspective. ● Low Range Turret - One of the main draws to the Longi is the fact that its essentially a machine gun, In many ways it will function similarly to a shoulder-mounted velonosaur, when manually firing you would use it much, in the same way, gaining a target reticle moving slower and expending stamina to shoot though not nearly to the degree of the velonosaur as in this case you also need to wait for the quills to appear in its inventory again. I would imagine that when it shoots its quills it does additional damage, I see its role as being a last resort type of thing, you are only given so many quills and you want to manage them carefully. (However to make this a versatile tame I think by increasing oxygen you could increase the maximum number of quills in its inventory and would change its role from last resort to a more standard attacker at the cost of some damage output) ● Last Resort - To compound on its role as something that you want to save for dire situations the Longi could receive a decent damage boost when your health dips below a certain point, this would hopefully allow it to make that difference between life and death in deadly situations. ● Reflective armor - This ability could be two-fold: for one after shooting a target it could take some of the damage it deals *its biting and the quills are getting pushed deeper* additionally if a survivor is wearing a longisquama they could also cause damage to be reflected upon taking it from an outside source, I think this could scale with a stat such as just health. ● Watchdog: - The final role of the longi is the auto turret part of it, essentially you set its aggression level and the range before it chooses a target, and it just acts as a turret on your should, if you had a decent level one this would be good enough to give you peace of mind that your not going to be snuck up on by a raptor and killed, even in situations were you havent brought your top teir tames with you, because you already have a pretty decent one on your shoulder. ● Additional details: I could also see the Longi providing insolation buffs and a fall damage reduction for obvious reasons. I also think that it could detect buried creatures like purlovia and reapers to add to their connection to rock drakes eluded to in the dossier and with the implication of them being the source of dna for rock drakes; however I don't think these are necessary for the concept to work, if the longi was feeling too bloated with features these would be the first I would drop, though I dont think anyone would complain from these being included. My main defense of these features being reasonable and not power creep or bloat is they don't majorly detract from other creatures' roles and instead just add a bit of depth to the longi, a dire wolf is still better for finding purlovia, a rockdrake can detect reapers and actually fight them, and archypterx / sino are better gliders. Implementation: So how does the Longi feel in game? I imagine it would be common to forested areas rich in bugs as well as swamps. I think Longisquama would work really well on other maps such as Abberation and Scorched earth, and Extinction's sunken forest, I would love to see these maps get some love. I personally think Aberration especially could benefit from the longisquama, I referenced the rock drake a lot while making the dossier and I can even see the longisquama being a source for the rock drake. Longisquama would be a great source of keratin if you can manage to kill one, which shouldn't be too difficult if you shoot it with arrows after bolaing it, just be sure you don't use a mele weapon. To add a greater threat to messing with this creature i could see it doing a quill burst when attacked at close range, this could also be an ability used by mounted longisquma. Feel free to leave your thoughts and suggestions in the comments, especially if you want to offer a perspective to PvP balancing because I have no idea how to start on that. As for my suggestions towards ensuring this is balanced, It would probably be good to investigate the spawn rate of diseased leaches, to ensure taming one of these at max efficiency is possible. Additionally, I would like to use this post to soapbox about velonosaur receiving a buff to cement its position at the turret mvp as the longisquama is intrinsically meant to be lighter weight and more multifaceted so therefor not quite as good as the dino that is literally genetically engineered by element to be a turret.
  16. As you know, in Ark we have the Titanomyrmas that we always find in the forests and swamps, they only appear to bother us at the beginning of the game. These annoying ants do not have a single function in the game, other than being sacrificed to get their chitin. but now with Queen Titanomyrma they can be useful: Queen Titanomyrma A queen always has to have subjects that follow her everywhere, either to defend her or to get resources for her. The arrival of the Queen Titanomyrma in the Ark is perfect to bring order and put to perfect use the lost normal titanomyrmas that wander aimlessly through the forests. Wild: they will be found in forests and swamps, where many resources abound, these queens will always be found within their anthills, if any creature approaches them, whether hostile or not, a small army of tytanomyrmas will come out of the anthill (flying and not flying) to get rid of it. Tame: - Option 1: Although getting closer will be a bit difficult, with the help of the queen bee's honey we will be able to get closer to the anthill, we just have to throw the honey in a place and the whole army of ants will go after it. Once several megatherios have been killed, the queen will have placed all her trust and will decide to be your adventure companion. - Option 2: Approaching the anthill, killing the entire army of ants that comes out of there, and mercilessly destroying the anthill, this will make the Queen Titanomyrma storm out, determined to attack you, continuously taking out minions that will drain your stamina with each attack. Once we manage to kill the ant queen, we will have a chance to get an egg from her inventory, which if we incubate it well, will result in a Queen Titanomyrma larva. Domesticated: PVP: - The queen Titanomyrmas, once tamed, can climb on their owner's shoulder and when ordered to do so, they can release pheromones that will attract all the wild titanomyrmas that are nearby, putting them under their control. When the pheromones wear off, the titanomyrmas will revert to their original state and become hostile. - Also the Queen Titanomyrmas can create their own minions, from time to time, which can drain the stamina of our enemies and make them slow, this will serve as a lot of support when we are in the middle of a fight with another tribe and they have fast dinosaurs and ours are slow. - anthill mode : anthill modelike the queen bee it can become a honeycomb or hive. The queen titanomyrma can become an anthill, it will have 2 modes: - The first mode will be the turret mode, which will help in some way to defend the base by continually taking out ants, they will not drain stamina with each attack but they will reduce speed and health by a small percentage. - The second mode is the farm mode, which I will explain in the pve part. PVE: - Option 1: The farm mode is simple, when the queen is in the form of an anthill, she can be told to farm all the resources in the area (the queen will order her subjects to do so and the resources will appear in the anthill's inventory) but in quantities it will be very small when we collect them ourselves with our hands, this mode will also make trees, bushes, rocks, metal and any other resource appear faster as the Stryders do, of course you could also indicate some specific resource that we want it to collect. - option 2: instead of collecting resources, they just collect all the products of the crops of our farms.
  17. As the title suggests, plateosaurus is one of the earliest ancestors of sauropods. We have Brontosaurus, Diplodocus, Amargasaurus, and Titanosaurus, but those are all true sauropods. My idea of plateosaurus will be the predecessor to these tames, able to be tamed much earlier than the rest of the long-necked herbivores, but still holding a unique feel in its environment. Name: Plateosaurus Species: Plateosaurus Lentumcaptionem Time: Late Triassic Temperment: Tempermental WIld: Plateosaurus Lentumcaptionem is a tempermentle herbivore from the Islands plains and forests. Much smaller than a diplodocus, this species is actually a prosauropod, meaning it is actually a predecessor to every sauropod species on the island! That being said, it still has its dangers. Like most other sauropods, or just decently sized herbivores in general, plateosaurus will put up a fight if aggressed upon. However, this mostly applies to the territorial males, who will pit themselves against anything that seemingly threatens the herd. Domesticated: Most survivors on the Island have taken to calling the plateosaurus the "Poor Man's Bronto", since it is fairly decent at harvesting berries, fibers, and thatch with its tail or sharp foreclaws. It can even use those claws to harvest sap from certain trees! Plateosaurus absolutely love sap and will happily lap it up from your hand for a tasty treat. What plateosaurus can do with that sap is what earned it its name. When threatened, it will mix the sap with its own saliva and simply spit it at aggressors, sticking them in place in a glue-like trap. Many clever survivors find this ability invaluable when chasing down fast moving targets as this "sap trap" will cause most small creatures to be happlessly stuck in place allowing for the hunt to come to a swift end. Should a creature be too big or simply too aggressive to be caught in the sap trap, plateosaurus will rally its herd and rear up on their hindlegs slashing away at threats with its sharp claws. All around, the plateosaurus is a good defender, a good steed, and a good mount for harvesting resources. Poor Man's Bronto is right! Other notes: Plateosaurus will have the morellatops's herd mentality. Meaning if it is alone it will flee, but in a group will fight. Taming will be a simple tranq and feed wuth berries or crops. Nothing fancy. Similarly to the dinopithecus's poop throw, the plateosaurus can just collect sap from trees and spit it out as a less costly, and easily replenished bola. Plateosaurus is a herd animal, so maybe it will be the first herbivore with a pack buff! Abilities: Harvesting mount - Plateosaurus may be distantly related to sauropods, but it still had some sharp claws due to it being one of the earliest dinosaurs, being from the Triassic period along with ceolophysis and postosuchus. So why not put those claws to use? Utilize them to harvest berries and fiber from bushes, thatch from trees, or even sap from trees as well. Combat mount - Speaking of claws, the plateosaurus would be able to utilize these claws to inflict greivous wounds on those under prepared. Since it is a prosauropod, it could also have the ability to swtich stances like the Iguanodon and Spinosaurus, allowing for faster mobility on all fours, while having higher combat prowess on two legs. It could also do a hefty tail swing that could knockback or stun players or small creatures. Sap Bola trap - Utilizing the plateosaurus's sap collection will allow players to spit this sap at targets and stick them in place. Maybe it could be like a small puddle like the oil jar and if you're within the blast radius you'll be caught. Herd mentailty - Plateosaurus will congregate in herds of up to 5 or so, and will be buffed based on the pack. Similar to direwolves or compies, but with a stegosaurus-sized herbivore instead! This means however, if the plateosaurus is alone, it could decide to just leave and save its own hide rather than fight. So there you have it! Plateosaurus, the sticky sap bola! ARK's first prosauropod!
