Hasandong Boreopterid - Predator of the Skies
alexalex327 posted a suggestion in Creature Submissions
The Hasandong Boreopterid is a newly discovered, undescribed genus of pterosaur that lived in South Korea during the Early Cretaceous. Abilities & Gameplay Usage ● Mobility - similarly to the Griffin, the Hasandong is able to gain momentum by diving straight towards the ground and is able to swiftly change directions even whilst hovering in the air. Its aerodynamic body gains more speed at higher altitudes. Movement on the ground is highly sluggish. Quite agile underwater. ● Primary Attack - has a chance of applying a bleeding debuff (and entangling smaller targets, similar to the bite of a Megalosaurus). Is also able to instantly cut trough Nets, Bolas, Chain Bolas, Plant Species Y traps and perhaps even Bear Traps ● Ability #1 - The Hasandong is able to perform a vigorous screech that prevents its rider from being dismounted (Plant Species Z Fruit, Whip, Shadowmane etc.), forces most small creatures into a fear state, making them flee, increasing the damage received, and recovers a small portion of stamina at the expense of its own health. ● Ability #2 - Gains a resistance buff, decreased stamina drainage or increased healing from high grade consumables such as Prime Fish Meat, Cooked Prime Fish Meat, Cooked Lamb, Kibble, etc. at the cost of reduced efficiency from normal meat. ● Ability #3 - Is able to dive underwater for short periods of time, although the oxygen will be quickly drained by performing attacks or sprinting. ● Saddle Ability - Acts as a Refrigerator (powered by gasoline or element shards) with slightly lower spoiling timers, produces Meat Jerky quicker (perhaps x3-x5 times faster than a normal Preserving Bin) greatly reduces the weight of consumables. Is able to keep its rider cool in warm environments and slowly decreases heat strokes, greatly negates fire debuffs (Flamethrower, Magmasaur, Fire Wyvern, etc.). Over a period of time the Hasandong is able to convert low grade consumables such as Raw Meat and Raw Fish Meat into their Prime counterparts, and resources such as Keratin/Chitin into Organic Polymer. ● In an ideal scenario this creature can be used as efficient storage or a way to transfer perishables between locations, making your taming trips just a little easier, a passive way of gaining tedious resources and quite the versatile mount in a PvP scenario, especially in close combat or fighting against land creatures such as the Managarmr, Maewing and Flamethrowers. Taming & Breeding ● In order to tame a Hasandong, the survivor must prepare a variety of delicacies (such as Raw/Cooked Prime Fish Meat, Shadow Steak Saute, Prime Meat Jerky, Kibble and perhaps some Preserving Salts) beforehand and has to approach the creature, feed it the preferred food, and mount it. At this point the survivor must hunt small critters and fish whilst riding the Hasandong. During this process the survivor may sometimes lose control and be forced to dismount unless they feed the Hasandong their preferred food. ● Breeding this creature could require something such as a specific consumable or access to air/water.-

Diet: Herbivore Typical Weight: ~3 lbs/1.5kg Temporal Range: Early Cretaceous Temperament: In the wild, skittish and FAST. Abilities (utility): - Utilizes the bump on the rostral bone to dig its way underground. It is a proficient digger - able to dig long tunnels for miles and can do so quickly. Use the toggle wheel (similar to the Moschops wheel where you level farming ability of certain materials), to choose a material of choice and send it on its way to harvest those materials for you. Materials could include: Wood, Thatch, Stone, Metal, Crystal, etc. Alternatively, you could place Tek Canteens or Canteens/Water Jars in its inventory and it will return to you with them being full. Short cooldown. - Can use its claws to harvest small creatures (Dodo, Moschops, Lystro, etc.) when commanded for decently large amounts of chitin, hide, etc. Also harvests Fertilizer from killing Dung Beetles. - Similar feeding system to a Gacha - it LOVES Mejoberries. Keep at least a stack of Mejos in its inventory and it will turn that stack into one completely random (low to high) blueprint. 12-24 hour cooldown on the ability. - Has the ability to utilize its underground tunnels to "teleport" players to one PRE-SET location. Must be pre-selected, chosen coordinates that can't be changed once set. Cryo'ing and uncryo'ing do not reset this affect. - Breedable, but will fight siblings to the death if within a certain range until adulthood. Reference Links: Wikipedia PLOS Very open to suggestions! I think there are a lot of openings for utility dinos and unique features in the game.

Common Name: Sarco Species: Sarcosuchus excubitor Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Patient Wild: Among the island's water-based threats, Sarcosuchus excubitor is a lot what you might expect from a giant crocodile: A patient killing machine. It spends much of its days lazily waiting in the water for prey to walk near. That said, it is not opposed to scurrying onto land and pressing the issue when hungry. A good tactic for escaping many predators is to jump into the water, as most are slow swimmers. This is a bad tactic for escaping a Sarcosuchus, obviously, as they are actually faster in the water than they are on land. Domesticated: Despite being river-dwelling creatures, Sarcosuchus seem quite at ease in the oceans. More than a few fishing communities use them as mounts simply to help fight off Megalodons, or to gain better access to the resources found within the reefs. -

Common name: Microraptor Species: Microraptor Gnarilongus Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Microraptor Gnarilongus is one of the smallest non-avian dinosaurs on the island. Incredibly fast for it's size, Microraptor is a voracious carnivore. Aggressive towards anything its size or smaller, Microraptor fancies itself an apex predator. It will attack Humans on sight, especially if it's not alone. When hunting, Microraptor's speed is only one of its assets. While not quite capable of sustained flight, its wings allow it to stay aloft for several seconds while jumping. This allows Microraptor to attack its prey's vulnerable areas, as well as search for small river fish. Domesticated: While not a powerhouse against armed enemies, Microraptor is particularly suited at bringing down enemy riders. Microraptor's natural tendency to attack weaker creatures means they ignore the mount while attacking the rider with leaps of fury.-
