mechanic Petting creatures/friendship mechanic
Dude342 posted a suggestion in Game Suggestions Archive
It would be cool to have a friendship mechanic were you could pet your creatures and there friendship level would go up, and maybe they would get a slight buff to all stats if there friendship meter was full, and it would be awesome if when you opened a creature’s behavior settings you could select, “make best friend” and that creature would be your best friend/favorite creature, they would get a best friend buff, you would see there stats at the top right of your screen, and you would be able to take them anywhere, to any single player/multiplayer server, now obviously there are limitations to this, you would not be able to best friend creatures like a giga, but all in all this would be a very cool and exciting feature to add, it would make players want to explore more, tame more creatures, and enjoy ark more all together, and I hope someone at ark sees this and at least considers/passes the idea around, thanks for reading.- 1 reply

Panagrolaimus kolymaenis - the most likely to die
Mailboy posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Panagrolaimus kolymaenis is based off of a real life worm that was revived from permafrost recently. The idea is for it to do a similar thing and survive to present day earth. Kolymaenis is the most useless creature on the entirety of the ark. The whole purpose is for it to be this stupid creature that requires a lot of care and attention, but doesn't provide anything useful in return. Kolymaenis would require a very specific taming method. You would need to feed it an exquisitely cooked multi-course meal in order to advance taming to the next step. This would require specific recipes in order to tame, as kolymaenis is a picky eater. It cannot eat any raw foods, as it will kill it due to food poisoning (this also includes berries and veggies, as it can hurt its tummy). It also cannot eat spoiled food, nameless venom, or any other specific drop from creatures. It will, however eat every cooking recipe except battle tartare (yes, that includes shadow steak) and random rare resources such as black pearls, element, raw element ore, rocks, giant bee honey, wyvern talons, rock drake feathers, and corruption nodes (which are all exempt from the previous creature drop rule). It will also sometimes ask for artifacts and boss heads. It will eat multiple of these at a time (except artifacts). This process can sometimes result in a stomach ache, which will reduce taming effectiveness and drop the taming bar to zero. Taming can only be completed in a gillie suit. If the worm sees you, then you will lose taming effectiveness, and and the taming bar will reset. If you or any other creature moves over top of the kolymaenis, it will immediately die and you will not be able to gather any resources. The game will start playing sad music, and you will not be able to stop the music unless you stop the game. It has one of the lowest spawn rates in the game, and is very difficult to find. It will only spawn at the very edge of extinction. Kolymaenis will always have one health, one weight, one stamina, and 1% melee, no matter how many times you level it up. Kolymaenis is the only creature in the game that allows for movement mutations, and leveling up movement does apply speed to it. There is no purpose to this though, as it will only increase its likelihood of being stepped on. Once tamed, it will require constant maintenance, and if you do not feed it and take it out on walks every time it asks, it will die either of starvation or boredom. If you do not feed it what it wants, you will instantly die with no explanation, and when you respawn all your stuff will be missing and the worm will be gone. It also adds the worm-shrine, which is only unlocked as an engram after having tamed a kolymaenis. You may worship there to level up the shrine. The more you worship, the more levels it gains. After a certain number of levels, you reach milestones, which effect your stats negatively until you reach the max level, which will revert you to worm form. Thank you and please vote team worm for nothing to be added to the game!-

DOLLACARIS: The Creature Finding Creature
Eclipsomations posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
General appearance: A small arthropod posses massive eyes compared to its relatively small body. Dollacaris posses claws used for attacking prey and ones for propulsion. Location: The dollacaris is found in abundance underneath the floating island The Center has become best known for. However they can be found in the open ocean, but much less reliably. Behavior: The dollacaris, while small, is a strict carnivore. However due to it's size and poor swimming ability the only thing on the menu for these unfortunate creatures are already dead creature and trilobites, as neither of those are very good at running away. This gives them a relatively skittish temperament, fleeing from most creatures and survivors. Taming: Due to the aforementioned skittish behavior this creature is a difficult one to get close too, this does not bode well to anyone wanting one of these small allies. And to top it off it is IMPOSSIBLE to sneak up on one of these creatures, no amount of ghille and bug repellent means otherwise. So clever survivors have been able to lure these creatures close with food, aka, a corpse. Once this creature begins eating one can than approach it with its favorite food, pearls. Black pearls work best but a more cost effective method does lie in silica pearls. Tamed: When tamed (luckily for all of us) this creature does eat meat after being tamed. However you don't want this creature for eating your food so what does it do? This creatures massive eyes allow it detect just about anything in nature and even things invisible to the naked eye. This is most apparent when a male and female dollacaris are "linked" to eachother (a setting accesed in their behaviour tab). When activated the male is set to be stationary, able to be latched to various surfaces, and survey an area. This adapted in nature so that the male could gaurd young dollacaris while the female stays with the young. Through the linked female you can access the males view of his nearby environment just about anywhere (his view range is about 20 feet in any direction). The male in this state can see things such as drop contents, creature level, and creature gender. This is not all its useful for, when given 100 black pearls and the dermis of any one creature, this creature can locate any member of the species that the given dermis belonged too in a given area. This can be done up to 3 times as the dollacaris is a small animal with a small brain that can get overloaded with information easily. The detectable creatures seemingly can't be swapped out as the dollacaris grows an affinity towards them and won't let you take away its precious dermis action figures. Misc: the dollacaris can half the weight of anything in its inventory. Despite being aquatic it can survive out of water just find, however, it is remarkably slow on land. New Creature: Javan Tiger Description: The Javan Tiger, a now-extinct subspecies of tiger, is a formidable addition to the Ark. With its striking appearance and unique abilities, survivors will be intrigued to tame and harness the power of this majestic predator. Abilities: Stealthy Prowl: The Javan Tiger possesses a natural stealth ability, making it almost invisible to other creatures when moving slowly or crouching. This makes it an excellent hunter, capable of stalking prey unnoticed and ambushing unsuspecting foes. Jungle Roar: The Javan Tiger emits a powerful roar that can temporarily paralyze nearby creatures, giving it an opportunity to escape or initiate an attack with a tactical advantage. Ferocious Bite: When engaging in combat, the Javan Tiger delivers a devastating bite, inflicting significant damage to its target and leaving them with a bleeding effect over time. New Ability: Bone-Crushing Paws: When the Javan Tiger attacks a larger creature, there's a probability that the target's movement speed will be significantly reduced for a short duration, representing the injury caused by the tiger's bone-crushing paws. This ability has a cooldown period to avoid overuse and maintain game balance. The chance of successfully inflicting the debuff can be influenced by the Javan Tiger's level and melee damage stat, rewarding survivors who invest in these attributes when taming and leveling up the creature. To add a touch of realism to this ability, the bone-crushing effect should be limited to larger creatures and not work on every type of creature in the game, like armored dinos like stego and anky are not affected. Taming Method: Taming the Javan Tiger will be a challenging but rewarding task. Survivors will need to carefully approach the tiger and gain its trust over time. The process involves leaving offerings of premium meat or other valuable resources near the creature without being detected. As the trust grows, survivors can attempt to hand-feed the tiger to further establish a bond. Dossier Entry: "Felis tigris sondaica, commonly known as the Javan Tiger, once prowled the dense jungles of the Ark. It was a master of stealth and ambush, stalking its prey with silent precision. Survivors who have encountered this majestic subspecies speak of its fearsome jungle roar, capable of paralyzing creatures in their tracks. Though the Javan Tiger has since gone extinct in the real world, its legacy lives on in the Ark. Taming one of these majestic creatures requires a patient and skilled approach, as gaining their trust is no small feat. Those who successfully forge a bond with the Javan Tiger will have a fierce and loyal companion, an asset in their struggle for survival." Additional Notes: The Javan Tiger could be a rare spawn in dense jungle biomes, reflecting its natural habitat. To maintain balance in the game, it should have specific food preferences and taming requirements that set it apart from other creatures in Ark. By introducing the Javan Tiger, Ark: Survival Evolved can educate players about the real-world plight of this extinct species and raise awareness about conservation efforts for endangered animals. It also adds an exciting gameplay element, providing players with a challenging yet rewarding creature to tame and utilize in their adventures.

SPECIES: Thylacinus cynocephalus SIZE: Length 5-6.2 ft.; 2 ft. tall at shoulder; Weight up to 77 lbs. BODY PARTS: Wide jaws with strong teeth, striped back HABITAT: Tasmania, an island off southern Australia PREY: Kangaroos, wallabies, sheep WHEN? Species dates back to 23 million years ago; became extinct in mid-1930s Killing at night with a bone- crushing bite, the Tasmanian wolf decimated sheep herds and struck fear and outrage into sheep farmers. Superstitions even arose that this wolf craved blood like a vampire. The animal was eventually hunted to an early extinction. BIG MOUTH: The wolf could open its jaws enormously wide, at an angle of over 160°, much wider than a normal wolf. The animal's powerful jaw muscles helped it smash through the bones of its victims. INVISIBLE STALKER: Dark stripes, numbering nine to thirteen, started at the middle of the back and ran down its body along the tail. They provided camouflage as the wolf watched for prey from the shadows. When the Tasmanian wolf was first spotted, no one knew exactly what it was. Some called it a tiger, some a wolf and others a zebra wolf. Most agreed it was a bloodthirsty killer, and people shot, poisoned and trapped the animal until there were no more left. The last known Tasmanian wolf died at Hobart Zoo in Australia on Sept. 7, 1936. MOOD SWING: The wolf's 2-foot-long tail was stiff and thick at the base. The animal could sit back on it like a kangaroo. Unlike dogs, this animal didn't wag its tail to show its mood. CLOSE KIN: Despite its name, the Tasmanian wolf is much more closely related to a kangaroo than a wolf. Like many animals from the Australian area, it was a member of the marsupial group of mammals. RACK OF LAMB: With jaws open wide, the Tasmanian wolf could grab onto prey, such as sheep or a kangaroo, with a death-grip in one bite. Sometimes it simply bit into its victim's throat. Other times it would take an animal's entire head in its jaws, exerting tremendous pressure to crush the skull for an instant kill. The Tasmanian wolf devoured its prey straight away while the carcass was still fresh. It tore off meat until its belly was full. DID YOU KNOW? Early settlers thought that the Tasmanian wolf could hop on its hind legs like a kangaroo. Mechanics: Harvesting: With its powerful jaws it can harvest a lot of mutton and keratin from herbivores but not chitin from bugs. Note Finding: When having one following you it will tell you if an explorer note is nearby. Taming: To tame one you need to separate one from its pack and once its calm and collected you can lure one in with mutton chops and once fed it will retreat and you must follow it until is stops and lays down. once calm you must appear not threatening by removing and heavy armor not having any weapons in your inventory or creatures with you then feed it once again and comfort it. if it deems you a threat it will attack and kill you. Steps: It will ask for comfort food Request a pet or Ask to play fetch (Boomerang required) Pack Abilities: When in a pack it can generate an effect that staves off small predators like spiders, bats and Titanoboas. like a deinonychus a single wolf can latch onto a creature and drain its blood and if in a pack it can cause serious damage, but it wont work on bigger creatures but it will slow them down. Tek Harness: Being an aberrant creature on the station it possesses a connection to charge and with the construction of a Tek harness it can focus the charge like a charge lantern so you don't have to use one or put on down to stave off the nameless and you can have them walk around while you gather resources. it even has a turret mode. Over all i think this creature might be fun. we can always use more adorable little killers in survival games lol.

Raphidioptera : AKA “The prehistoric Snakefly” (New Dino Idea :)
Diltzy posted a suggestion in Game Suggestions Archive
An adult snakefly resembles a lacewing in appearance but has a notably elongated thoraxwhich, together with the mobile head, gives the group their common name. The body is long and slender and the two pairs of long, membranous wings are prominently veined. Females have a large and sturdy ovipositorwhich is used to deposit eggs in some concealed location. They are holometabolousinsects with a four-stage life cycle consisting of eggs, larvae, pupae and adults. (Scaled up in Size to be as tall as two large survivors) Main Uses - - it may be broad or taper at the back, but is very mobile, allowing for it to carry your survivor at high speeds through the air nimbly! -The mouthparts are strong and relatively unspecialised, being modified for biting giving it the ability to pick up fellow tribe members, enemies and small to medium sized dinosaurs in its mandibles. -It has a large pair of compound eyes on the sides of its head giving it incredible vision in all harsh weather conditions & at night & a tracking ability you can use to track dinosaurs similar to a snow owls that allows you to search for a specific creature (i.e Only rexes will show up in night vision when selected) that can be turned on and whenever you have its preferred food in its inventory. The females typically have a long ovipositor, which they use to deposit their eggs into crevices or under bark, this is where the taming comes in to play! The eggs will have to be found in a nest similar to a wyvern or magmasaur and taking one will cause a swarm of Raphidioptera to aggro you but be careful because the females have a venom they can spit that will dismount you and slow you down if hit by it!-

There is no reason why the jumping spider shouldn't have made the top ten vote....there should be no down vote button because people abuse that just like they would if you could vote for the same one multiple times. People were down voting the idea based on their own opinions of how it would "break" the game. First, these are suggestions to the Devs who would modify the creature to keep it from "breaking" the game. We need more dinosaur option for knocking out wild dinos which are more mid and late game playable. Please look into this issue and remove the down vote button for the next submission thanks.

creature vote Cambroraster the fish: creature submission :)
cambrian posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
name cambroraster falcatus time period cambrian temperament neutral diet omnivore abilities none I feel like there are too many animals with gimmicks so I figure we should just add one for ambience. The cambroraster will swim around and is a source of chitin and fish meat but is otherwise useless. This creature should be added because I think it would really stand out from the competition and it is a good looking animal that is not well known and I think ARK: Survival Evolved should really focus on educating the public about prehistoric life as the gamers of today are the scientists of tomorrow. Thank you for reading my submission and I hope you have a good day-
