Zalophus japonicus - Japanese sea lion
ApocalypseGal posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Name: Japanese sea lion Species: Zalophus japonicus Time: 1970’s Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore Temperament: Friendly, Playful Sea lions are known by their exterior ear flaps, their long fore flippers, and a big chest and belly. They have a thick layer of short fur that covers a thick layer of blubber which keeps them warm in the sea. Wild: You will be able to spot these aquatic mammals spending there day relaxing on the ark’s beaches/coasts or swimming through the sea hunting for their desired food, they these versatile hunters can be found hunting alone or in packs, they are able to catch fish and other small marine creatures at ease. They are very playful social animals you may even see them playing with each other, you might even spot them swimming and playing with the dolphins. I have heard from other tribes that they are so friendly that they would even swim right up and try to befriend you. I also heard stories about how these creatures have been spotted saving those at sea. These sealions have adapted to be agile, not only are they able to navigate the sea at great speed just like the Ichthyosaurus, but they too can move decently on land also. Domesticated: Once you have tamed one, they become a valuable companion, there swimming abilities make them an excellent water exploration mount. They seem to be able to sense when people are in danger and are quick to notify and aid those in need. over time they create oil just like the basilo/tuso. Abilities and features these are just some of the idea’s I had imagined for some features of Zalophus. Lifeguard: this would be a sense allowing them to detect when a survivor is in low in oxygen and in danger. Breath of fresh air: Zalophus can blow bubbles which will replenish survivor’s oxygen, giving them that extra time to make it to the surface. Air/healing bubbles: a separate ability when they spin/splash about in the sea creating air bubbles with a range around Zalophus, these air bubbles could act providing air to multiple survivors/tames for a period of time within the bubble range, it could also have a healing affect within that range and only for this ability. Insulation: Since their body is made up of thick blubber with an added layer of short fur to keep them warm, I think they should be able to provide a insulation to keep survivors warmer in the cold sea Shock resistant: since they have thick blubber it could make them resistant to the shocks of eels and jellyfish. Oil supply: naturally generates oil after a period of time. agile swimmers: are incredibly fast and can navigate the sea very well. pack boost: with other sealions/Ichthyosaurus. Perform: They are able to preform a clapping animation that gives passive xp to nearby dinosaurs. Behavior: The sea lions are not aggressive until they are attacked, they are super friendly and will even approach survivors. If attacked, they can fight back by biting or with a fin/tail thump. Drops: Raw Meat Raw Prime Meat Oil Blubber Taming: Since they are so friendly and playful One must first toss them a fish to feed them and start the taming process, afterwards you must swim alongside them (either freely alongside them or mounted kind of like the Equus/diplocaulus but maybe with one had around them swimming with them) and repeat the process, until you have tamed your very own sealion. Species: Chaoyangsaurus🦎 Time: Late Jurassic🌤️ Diet: Herbivore🌿 Temperament: Passive defender🕶️ 💚Wild🦎 Chaoyangsaurus in the wild is a lively, social creature often traveling together with other passive creatures. They are friendly enough to come right up to you and look you over before venturing off to explore its surroundings. Enjoying warmer temperatures and lower climates with lush fauna or shrubs. Being no stranger to the aquatic life you can also find them in the swamplands. The Chaoyangsaurus is also fiercely loyal, and while it won't outwardly attack you, it will always rush to the defense of the passive creatures around it that are under attack, so be careful when hunting where these quick loyal defenders roam with other creatures. 💚Domesticate🦎 Chaoyangsaurus is a very curious and friendly creature that loves visual stimulation If you can lead one to your home it will often times settle right in with you. While not large enough to ride, the Domesticated Chaoyangsaurus makes for an excellent companion retaining their fierce loyalty and helping you in your day to day activities. Once a harness is crafted for them they are more than happy to hold your food and narcotics for you, and will even help you feed your tames in surrounding area! 💚Behavior🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is a passive, friendly animal that is full of curiosity, often running up to new creatures that come into its path. Though they will never strike first once they or a fellow creature is in danger they will rush to the defense of others. 💚Passive Tame🦎 Chaoyangsaurus enjoys visual stimulation above all. Feed it it's favorite treat of a rare flower and it will follow you for a time. Leading it through your base, or other structures you have built will slowly tame it, the more advanced your build is, the faster it will tame, and the more different things for it to examine will raise it's efficiency. 💚Combat🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is far from a fighter, but better than nothing. They will attempt a sweeping tale attack to knock back smaller creatures. While this attack is indeed weak it will not effect taming effectiveness of an unconscious creature. 💚Utility🦎 The Chaoyangsaurus is a early to mid game companion creature. Larger than your shoulder friends, but smaller than a raptor these fast creatures strive to be your best friend! If you fall unconscious they will try to wake you with gentle nudges. Once you build the harness for the Chaoyangsaurus They have a high carrying capacity for Berries🍇, meats🥩 and narcotics🐍. They can also be strapped onto other tames that have saddles, although they will need your help to detach from them. They will work as feeding troughs for your tames, automatically feeding them the most beneficial food and narcotics to nearby unconscious creatures, but will have no effect on passive tames. The harness can also be used as a mobile mortar and pestle. 💚Extras🦎 Chaoyang is not only a curious and intelligent creature but an obedient one, able to learn commands such as sit, or laydown, or play dead.🦎

Dossier: A small Wolf-Fox of the canidae family, better known as Malvinas Wolf from the Malvinas Islands, discovered in the 18th century, 80cm long and 30-40cm high, soft fur but resistant to cold and heat, it is a very cunning, strong, fast and curious making his taming really a challenge, but once tamed he will be of great help in your first days as a survivor in ark both in taming, protection and transfer. Not only will he be another dino on his shoulder, he will be a faithful friend who will give your life as long as you don't leave his side. Skills: - When pointing at a target, it will take a run and do 10% damage on impact, with a slight stun of 15 seconds, bleeding and fear from medium dinos (tamed dinos) in wild dinos it will be the same ability but it will throw them to the ground for 5sec and will keep running away or attacking the dino. - We can carry it as a shoulder dino except that in this case its body will protect our back in case a dino bites from behind, canceling the first two blows, when this happens it will receive normal damage. - You can make a special bag to equip it, which reduces the weight by 50% working as a mortar at the same time. • Depending on your stamina level and weight, if you fall asleep or faint, it will take over your body and run away from danger until you wake up. • With his special sense of smell, he is able to guide you to where you died within a radius of 300m Tame: We must have a shoulder dino in ambulation and release it, the fox will start to follow it out of mere curiosity but we must have the camouflage suit or it will get scared, it will make a hole in the snow and stay there until it feels our presence. In case it does not detect us we must release fish (first, normal, cooked or raw) when it is consuming the food we must caress it to complement the tameo later it will hide in a hole and the process is repeated.

Herpestes Lemanensis (Mongoose!) - Torpor Shield Shoulder Pet
bigJeep posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Greetings! Hope I'm not late to showcase my creature idea: A Mongoose! Made sure to reference an unfortunately extinct species to make it eligible for the submission. To those who aren't familiar, mongooses are little carnivores from places like Africa and India, most of them are very aggressive and are prime hunters of venomous snakes due to their extraordinary venom resistance. You think they might look like Otters, but they're not related at ALL. Meerkats for example are mongooses if that rings a bell 👀 Many mongooses live in arid areas, which makes them a nice fit for Scorched Earth It could be some sort of counter for serpents... but the ones we got in Ark are a bit too much compared to what mongooses are used to, specially considering they've got not advantage against constrictors (or an enormous basilisk). Abities + It doesn't make your survivor or your mount immune to torpor. Think it like a shield - as the name suggests - it prevents a set amount of incoming torpor and, once such amount is depleted, must be replenished before protecting you from stings again! + When an aggressive enemy approaches whoever the Mongooses are hung onto (and if they're set up) they'll jump and "latch" on the target, stunning it! Think of it as a "pocket Purlovia" maybe + How many can hang on your shoulder or tame might depeng on weight, drag weight, level, stat... or whatever WC wishes I think that's it, nothing too deep. Just a nice little companion with some drawings trying to show what I mean and what I came up with- 4 replies
