Majungasaurus The trickiest Chameleon (UPDATED)
Elrad posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
I decided to make the Majungosaurus, from the other submission..but tweak it for aberration. LORE: These curious creatures inhabit the subterranean world Aberration, which caused a very unique evolution. Unlike their ancestors, The Majungasaurus has evolved not only camouflage, but bioluminescence, often glowing to communicate, or scare other creatures, even their own kind. Their tails are long and prehensile, used for wiping, or cutting with the sharp spines that decorate their tails. Beware, as those spines can make you question what’s real…and what’s not. Basically, it’ll have all its previous abilities, the skin shedding, camouflage, and stat reading. But I decided to give it venom, and bioluminescence…cause why not? I also thought giving them semi retractable teeth would be a nice touch. They would have evolved the chameleon like eyes, but be able to crawl like them to, using the element of surprise, and being able to change color, scale walls, and have a long tongue, and even mimic patterns. Their prehensile tails are covered in glowing venom, causing pain, hallucinations, and Paralysis. The teeth…more acidic in nature. Despite this, they have been known to be very curious, often not attacking unless they are attacked first….or if they’re hunting. BEHAVIOR : While they do share the same cannibalistic nature as their ancestors, this particular species do hunt in pairs, trios, or even packs of four, not eating each other unless one of them falls in battle. Or if it is an outsider not apart of the pack. They are found near the caverns of this sunken ecosystem, or in the fertile zones, and swamps. The Majungasaurus are a naturally curious species, often observing humans, or small animals while camouflaged, which triggers the feeling of being watched. They also like to use their unusually long tongues to swipe items when a survivors back is turned. This is all for either fun, or assessing weaknesses for prey, depending on its mood, and it will return said items. They are also known to shed, and leave their skin around their territories, permitting anyone to take them. Appearance:As I have mentioned before, their evolution has drastically changed their appearance such as their eyes. They now mimic the appearance of a chameleon, and can be moved in several directions and motions, and even zooming in and out at will. Their arms have also gotten larger, stronger, and a little bit longer, mainly used for grabbing, scratching loose skin, or even crawling on all fours like a giant chameleon. They have also evolved a form of bioluminescence, glowing blue, purple, green, red, orange, yellow, even green, used both for camouflage, and warning signals to both their own kind, and other creatures. They can also be used as a bright charge light to blind and scare away reapers and Nameless alike. Their mouths also glow as well. Their tails are long and prehensile, and covered in glowing, venom coated spines. ABILITIES: Stat reader: Their eyes have a function to see stats on the creatures around it, being able to zoom in and out, and even see the health and torpor of the creature. Edit: wall Crawling has been removed. Color changes: used for blending in to their surroundings for cover. If the creature is hit hard enough, it will cause their color to change, giving it away. Continued bashing will force the Majungasaurus to change color repeatedly. However, it cannot turn completely invisible like the rock drake. If charge light is shined on a Majungasaurus it’s pattern will disrupt and change, revealing the culprit instantly. Headbutt: Used for sending raptors, Nameless and other small creatures flying. Long Tongue: Used for grabbing, and sticking. tipped with venomous spikes. Tail: Used for shooting quills, or wrapping around something or someone. Bite: Standard bite. Acid bite: Used for venom, or breaking down armor. To tame: either feed it a dead Majungasaurus, or give it certain items it can play with. This is still a work and progress, but I am open to suggestions…plz. Also…maybe a dossier, if it isn’t too much trouble 😅 Link for my other Dino, Pyroraptor: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/jurassic-world-mattel-majungasaurus-by-freakyraptor-on-deviantart--781867185302360125/ This is what inspired me.- 21 replies

Anqingosaurus - Your Friendly Neighborhood Tongue-Swinger.
Beamstalk44 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Anqingosaurus Brevicephalus was one of the oldest known chameleons. While I did take liberties from other creatures(such as Drepanosaurus, and Jackson's Chameleon) I really liked the named Anqingosaurus(my assumed pronunciation is “An-king-go-saurus") Anqingosaurus will be the 5th shoulder-pet on Aberration however, it will not function like the other 4 as it will not be a glow-pet. It will have bioluminescence, but will function more like the aberrant variant creatures. If it wins it will also be the only shoulder-pet that has won a creature vote(I'm not including Sinomacrops since it technically got disqualified) The purpose of the Anqingo is to essentially turn you into spider-man but also has some extra perks, including increasing mutation percentages! I'm aware that the bloodstalker exists. However, I always felt that, while it was fun, I wanted to be able to be on the ground while utilizing a tech like this, I wanted it to feel more personal. It will work as the creature variant of the Grappling Hook, Whip, HL-NA, as well as being an upgraded ghillie suit/personal rock drake(which will act as a slight parasaur counter). However, while I do want it to stand out I do not want it to overshadow some of these items. It is also going to be an endgame creature so utilizing the grappling hook and whip early-mid game would still be somewhat essential. Location: Anqingo would spawn in the Bioluminescent Region, more specifically the Luminous Marshlands. You will find it on trees. It will be a rare spawn and very hard to find due to its camouflage. Taming: It is a passive tame and you need to approach it slowly with a rock drake, shadowmane, desmodus, or have another anqingo. After approaching the creature while invisible, it will notice you and a slight mini game will start, during this process it will change to one of 3 colors. Green, Blue, and Red. When it turns to one of these 3 colors you will need to hop off your mount and approach it slowly to give it one of the 3 gems, respective to the color it turns. Once tamed you can pick it up and it will cling to your arm. While clinged to you it will embed the hook on the end of its tail into your neck. This will link your nervous system to the Anqingo, much like a Bloodstalker. Controls : (Note: the Anqingo will function as a "weapon", meaning when swapped to an item you will not be able to utilize the Anqingos abilities) R/Square/X: cycles through the "modes" of the Anqingo. Indicated by the Anqingo changing to 1 of the 3 colors. Left Ctrl/R1/RB: Melee. Using the 3 horns of the Anqingo you will stab a target, causing a minor bleed effect. (Note: This can be done with any mode) Green(Camouflage/Stat reader mode): M1/R2/RT: Stat reader. This will work just like HL-NA. M2/L2/LT: Camouflage While you are not moving - you will be invisible, this will function like a rock drake, not a shadowmane, you will still have a silhouette. During this effect you are immune to "tracking" abilities, such as the parasaurs alarm mode(note: you can still be spotted by the scan, you are only immune to the passive) While moving - you are no longer invisible but it will reduce the aggro range of other creatures, similar to a ghillie suit(effects do not stack). Blue(movement mode): M1/R2/RT: The Anqingo will grab onto a surface you are looking at with its tongue. Using movement while latched will swing you in that direction, similar to bloodstalker. (While latched)Holding M1/R2/RT: Will rapidly send you towards that surface. (Note: it has a farther reach than grappling hooks, but a shorter reach than bloodstalkers) (While latched)Space/X/A or X/R3/RS: Unlatches (While latched)M2/L2/LT: unreels M2/L2/LT: Aims Red(Attack mode): M1/R2/RT: this will act as a whip, grabbing items, unbounding bolas, causing flyers to drop you. M2/L2/LT: this will grab smaller creatures and hold them in place(does not work on survivors). Once a creature is grabbed you can reel them in or out with a primary/secondary button respectively. If you use this on titanomyrma, meganeura, or insect swarms it will automatically reel them in and eat them. These same bugs will also be highlighted. Lastly, if you approach a creature and hold Left Ctrl/Square/X: you can attach the Anqingo to this creature. This will double the mutation chances of that creature's offspring. Thank you for your consideration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anqingosaurus https://animalia.bio/anqingosaurus-brevicephalus (Drepanosaurus) (Jackson’s Chameleon)- 6 replies

insectivorous Calumma Benovskyi "the power of the tongue"
Zaimon posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Presentation Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the presentation of one of the least expected creatures of this vote with you the Calumma Benovskyi, a formidable chameleon that will help us in all our adventures in the ARK. Wild Among the most hidden corners of the forests they discovered Calumna Benovskyi, an unusual creature that also inhabits the most hidden caves and swamps in the area. The survivors decided to recognize it as Gigameleon because of its striking colors and large size. Depending on the situation it is able to camouflage itself, either to hide from its enemies or to surprise its prey with its long tongue. It is usually quite solitary and has a friendly appearance, but survivors who got carried away by its appearance suffered from its great dexterity with its tail and had injuries before they could blink. Domesticated Despite being a solitary and hard-to-see creature, it cannot go unnoticed by anyone seeking to tame it. So it becomes a highly sought after creature by survivalists not only for its incredible tongue or large size, but for its ferocity, whether defending, attacking, exploring or harvesting. Its ability to obtain chitin from the insects it devours can be even more grotesque than that of a megatherium, certainly a creature too resilient to withstand even the great pressure of radiation. For these and many other reasons, the Benovskyi calumma is one of the ideal mounts for any kind of survivor. Abilities: Our beloved Calumma Benovskyi as her life has developed or many of her abilities have been discovered throughout the ARK. Although many of the survivors consider her a slow creature, they are fascinated by the fact that she is as tough as a tank, able to withstand heavy blows. One of its great virtues is its effective tongue that most of the time hits the target, but that's not all that our Benovskyi offers as it can also serve as a chitin collector, even being a good companion when you want to go deep and explore the deeper areas of the radiation. Attacks (technically explained): There is certainly a wide variety of attacks or passive abilities that the Calumma Benovskyi can offer us. - (RC) Its powerful tongue works as an anchor capable of attracting enemies to it or dismount the riders of the creatures to be able to perform the combo of blows, it can charge dinosaurs from smaller to the size of a carnotaurus. - (LC) The big combo hit that mainly focuses on hitting twice and finishing with a powerful bite (which can passively go into hit lethargy). - (C) A strong tail capable of slowing mounts or applying a strong stun to survivors. - (Q) Allows you to change the tongue mode so that you can steal items from the enemy's inventory. - (space) Allows him to adapt to any surface whether walking on walls, trees or even zip lines. - (CTRL) He is able to camouflage himself with his surroundings Attacks or passive abilities (technically explained) - One of them would be that it can turn on its own axis thanks to its eyes. - Its eyes have been proven to see differently from ultraviolet light to infrared light. - It can withstand high radiation temperatures. - And it has a healing effect when it devours insects. -Be able to put torpor the creatures that hold with the tongue Taming: One of the difficult tasks of the Calumma Benovskyi is its taming and you may be wondering how we managed to tame it. Well, first we must clarify that our friend Benovskyi is a solitary creature, but at the same time very territorial, it is enough for him to see you for him to grab you and start attacking you and even if he feels very intimidated he can camouflage himself. . and escape Therefore, it was thought that while you observe him for a period of time, at some point he will spit or defecate a kind of pheromone that if you spray it on your body you will be able to get closer. Once sprayed with the pheromone you must have chitin in your inventory and the calumma with its powerful tongue will proceed to steal the chitin from your inventory, from time to time the calumma will begin to ask you for corpses of giant insects and you can drag the bodies and it will pick them up with its tongue and it will eat them, increasing its size even more. But be careful that if the effect of the pheromone runs out, the calumma will proceed to attack you or if it is too far away it will steal some valuable item from your inventory! Location: It can be located in different regions of the map from swamps to forests and even in caves, it is worth noting that we can find it walking on the walls and even trees, but an advantage that has its location is that it is always located where there are insects, but it is always recommended to go with a lot of eye you never know where you can run into one. Here is a reference to the comparative size: Abilities better explained The best known ability of the Calumma Benovskyi is its powerful tongue capable of holding dinos smaller than the size of a Carnotaurus, as well as dismounting survivors from their mount. An added ability that would only work on tamed Calumma Benovskyi is the option to use their tongue as a whip, capable of having a percentage chance of obtaining some weapon, tool or resource from the enemy's inventory. The camouflage was thought in a different way to be something new and repetitive, it consists in that the Calumma Benovskyi can choose to camouflage itself with its environment depending on the biome, either by adopting the textures of the environment, which would make it practically unrecognizable and undetectable to the cries of the Parasaur or to another type of detector. Its tail is a special case, because of its incredible size we decided that it could give strong blows with the tail that would be able to slow down the enemy making them unable to run or escape. This is the first sketch of the saddle, it is planned to help you carry a little more weight because of the included backpack. A tamed calumma with the mount equipped could give you the opportunity to try a new item, which is poison arrows. The calumma, being a poisonous reptile, can spray the arrows with its powerful poison that will give it a duration before the poison dissolves. Once the poison is dissolved, the arrow will become stone or if you used the metal one, it will become only the arrow of metal. Here I add a wikipedia link on data of the true calumma, which is already extinct https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calumma_benovskyi Thank you very much for your attention, this work was made by 2 people who put love and attention to every detail, I hope you like it, we will accept any suggestions.- 16 replies

Sillosuchus longicervix is a giant hervivorous bipedal dinosaur closely related to crocodilomorphs. The idea i have for this animal is for it to be a giant organic grappeling hook, but with a couple more uses. Sillosuchus would have a extremly long prehensile tongue similar to chameleons, this tongue would be used as a grappleing hook being able to grab onto surfaces, while grabbed onto a surface sillosuchus would be able to move left, right, up or down. The tongue could also grab onto dinosaurs with heavier weight than it, being able to atack them while riding them. The tongue would also be able to grab things with substancially less weight than it, being able to grab them and pull them torwards the sillosuchus. The tongue would have a torpor effect on players and dinosaurs alike, no matter of the weight. Sillosuchus tongue could also be used to grab items or resources, being able to grab things like vegetation including bushes, trees, cacty, etc and also sand and pearls. Sillosuchus would be semi aquatic but it would be slow in the water. Sillosuchus taming would be a little bit similar to dinopithecus. Sillosuchus would spawn in herd of 3 to 4 these being agressive to players and small dinosaurs, they would spawn with 2 or 3 females and one male, to tame sillosuchus you need to kill the females, after this the male will become tamable with torpor. Sometimes colonies of sillosuchus will spawn, having up to 5 females 2 males and 1 matriarch. Matriatchs would be bigger versions of normal females, being the only female of sillosuchus that can be tamable. To tame matriarchs you must kill every other sillosuchus, females and males alike. Sillosuchus (the biggest one)
