the cheater death Cryptogyps (big vulture), the cheater death
Aazodus posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
English: Cryptogyps lacertosus the cheater death Common name: Crypto Species: Cryptogyps lacertosus (hidden vulture and powerful) Time : Pleistocene Diet: carrion feeder Temperament : opportunist Preferred Food: Golden hesperornis egg Inventory Power: Cryptogyps can store Golden Hesperornis Eggs for a very long time to prevent them from rotting, in addition it can turn 25 Spoiled Meat into Raw Meat and 400 Raw Meat into Prime Meat. Power cheats death: Cryptogyps if his life reaches zero will have immunity to the next damage, if he keeps his immunity or he does not receive damage after losing it for 2 minutes, he will regain 2000 hp and live (or else 20% to see so it's not too cheating) Bird breeder : Cryptogyps can make baby vulture, featherlight, ichthyornis and hesperornis making these creatures obtainable in new ways and in non-canon locations. They will have like normal parents the random stats of the mother or the father however they will not be able to reproduce with their parent (logical it is not the same species) and will act like their natural counterpart Taming Method: Passive To start the taming I know it's contradictory but you have to kill the Cryptogyps then you have to make sure you lock it in a safe place but not too small or else it will refuse the next step, to start you have to do a bait, to do this you must put a taxidermy with a corresponding trophy equip, the bigger it is (so alpha and apex predator) the better the taming will be after the fight, you can put basilisk alpha, karkinos alpha, giga, etc, he will be attracted and you can lock him up to kill him, then once his power cheats death is active you must catch him, either by a metal bolas or by a megalosaurus (be careful, this removes his immunity) once you catch him you must wait 2 minutes (the time he regens, then you can release him wait without attacking him for him to approach you and once ready enough give him a caress, then depending on Cryptogyps's reaction you must react, if Cryptogyps attacks you weaken him to show who dominates, if Cryptogyps is imposing and opens his wings give him a golden egg of hesperornis, then repeat a caress and fight back if he attacks attack, if he imposes feed him, be careful, it will not lose effectiveness if you are the one attacking it, but if it is another creature (wild or tamer) this could affect its effectiveness. Cryptogyps also accepts golden mushrooms, basilisk egg, element ores and element as an alternative if there is no golden egg but will be less effective and therefore more likely to have to fight. Maps transfer or and spawn : Aberation, Extinction, the Center, Crystal isle, lost island, Genesis 1, genesis 2 Breedable : Yes (80% of baby will be torgos arcam, featherlight, hesperornis or ichthyornis) Saddle: Tribal Crypto armor unlock at lvl 68 (argentavis I think) add 65 armor need to craft : golden egg, fiber, hide, sarco skin, Rex Helmet Skin (look like assembly of stego plate, sauropod bone, etc) Saddle tek : Tek Crypto armor unlock at Dinopithecus king, crystal wyvern queen (make these boss cool to make because many only make island scorched boss and Rockwell) or the best a special boss for him because the center not have special boss)can swap mode : Add 120 armor, can use element for reflect projectile and dmg, Swap armor to dmg so normal make 120% dmg, can use element to make element charged attack, when crypto bite or lacerated make more dmg and have 25% chance to make bleed Swap armor to life, heal regen to 120 per second when use element and spoiled meat, transform with time into Mummy element after 24 hours if crypto possess in inventory many element, spoiled meat and golden egg (beware of spoil meat become meat) Mommy element is lvl of Cryptogyps who craft it, mommy element can be put in inventory of death bodies to resurrect it, but function only for tame was below or same lvl of Cryptogyps, if try on more lvl dino it resurrect but lost lvl to correspond to crypto lvl, when death body eat mommy element it transform into mommy before become alive. Mommy element can be use on wild but don’t tame them, so you do tame them by normal way. Immobilized by: Chain bolas, megalosaurus (it take it on neck), thylacoleo Immune by : Net, blood, radiation Wild : Have you ever seen a mummy movie? Well I think Cryptogyps could correspond, he has an immense power over death, able to protect himself from damage incurred or to kill before being killed, he can even literally mummify to protect himself. Unlike its counterpart Torgos Arcam, it is very tall, really very tall, it is easily the size of a argentavis on the arch, at the start when I crossed it for the first time I would have thought to see one, in sum Crypto at a pace that could be mistaken for an eagle, let's say that it is especially his long neck that betrays him, moreover, I saw him once one of them being taken by a megalosaurus that he had inadvertently just woken up, and he got caught, not something you would commonly see on other specimens of his size. Tamed: When I see some of these abilities, including the one on the element, it scares me horribly, could he be one of Rockwell's minions? He is able to corrupt the element in his own way, giving his resurrection power to creatures that come into contact with the mummified element. I've seen some of the best inventors in the Federation and URE build tek armor for this creature, allowing it to amplify its already existing powers or force it to corrupt the element, this armor doesn't do I find only worsen the threat that crypto can cause. Having a tamed Cryptogyps lacertosus can however be useful for travel, you can ride on its back as a flying mount, but you can also travel in caves with it, if the air pressure of a cave prevents it from flying, it can be clinging to your spine, being like Torgos Arcam quite light, and serving as a glider, it can hover in the air, but it can also move and therefore hover and make three leaps in the air before being forced to to land. He is not worth a draconis obscurum for traveling but he is rather useful for those who are not fortunate enough to have this mount, moreover, perhaps because he knows the element well enough to corrupt it, he does not is unaffected by radiation and elemental water, allowing survivors to travel through this hostile area well accompanied or to caves in other arks to hunt for artifacts.
Edaphosaurus mimos - cave companion and temperature manipualtor
SmileShape posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Edaphosaurus mimos is a small creature in comparison to most of Arks critters. Being comparable to Phiomia in size (if you ignore the sail on its back) it doesn't look like much at first glance. However, this animal just like its relative, Dimetrodon, has the ability to change temperature around. Though Edaphosaurus has perfected this ability to the point where it can weaponize it. Taming Taming is a bit of a mix between Gacha and Moschops. First you need to walk up to Edapho and check what would it want to eat right now (that can range from raw meat and berried to stuff like tree sap and rare flowers) and drop the desired food on the ground close to the creature. It will then make its way towards the dropped items and eat them, forcing the taming bar to gain progress. Repeat a few times and you should have your own Edaphosaurus in no time. Utility This creature can launch heat and cold impulses around itself setting enemies on fire or slowing and freezing them respectively. This ability is especially useful in caves since heat impulse does extra damage to insects and arachnids, while the cold one downs fliers like bats, while damaging them of course. Both of these attacks also cause Purlovias to unburrow from the ground and makes them unable to pounce players and tames for a bit after that. These impulses cause such high changes to temperature of the surrounding area that anyone not affected by insulation buff could experience a quick death from hyper-/hypothermia. To assure that other Edaphosauruses or their riders don't get in this situation, Edaphos grant its rider insulation. These creatures and their riders are also completely immune to weather effects like blizzards, sandstorms or heat waves. When they're not using any of their temperature attacks, they're able to mask their body temperature, making them unnoticable to most wild creatures. Be wary that these folks shouldn't be used for hatching eggs like Dimetrodons. Edapho can only cause extreme heat and cold so most eggs will start losing health really fast when they're around those creatures, but eggs that require extreme temperature, like Wyvern or Rock Drakes, will hatch faster than usual. In terms of stats they have high health and decent weight. Reasonable amounts of stamina to balance their abilities a bit, but running doesn't consume any of it. Additonal Info - Edaphosaurus has a saddle with two seats (one on each side of the sail). - This creatures has sexual dimorphism in the form of sail patterns. - Its a docile omnivore. Note I hope you liked my idea for this creature and that I didn't make it too OP. Feel free to comment your thoughts below and your own ideas as well. (pls don't hurt me for that Edaphosaurus art, I know I'm not the best at drawing)- 1 reply

Steller's Sea Cow: The Underwater Tank
Ridly43290 posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
Stellar’s Sea Cow: Information: This animal went extinct in 1768 and was found between Russia and Alaska. It ate kelp and seaweed. If it would be added to kelp it would be a nice underwater tank that is a mobile creature with the ability to heal and would have a large carry weight. Wild: The sea cow would be passive unless it’s invoked. It would be found in the ocean but not deep down in groups of 3 to 4. Taming Method: It would be a passive tame that once fed black pearls, would let you ride around where you have to sniff out more black pearls. Tamed: This creature would be a underwater tank that is immune to the jellyfish’s stings, barxynx tail swipe, and other moves that stun your creature. If the sea cow kills a jellyfish it will get a healing buff added to it. It abilities would be a regular bite attack, an attack where you can shoot water out of your mouth that can dismount players off flyers, but this would have 3 charges before you have to wait to use it again. If this move is used underwater, it will shoot a wave that will knock back enimies. It would have a sniff ability that lets you search for black pearls along with the added buff of getting bonus black pearls from creatures that drop it. It’s main ability will be like a deodon where it can heal Dino’s on your team. Mobility: The sea cow would have a two player saddle that gives oxygen to the riders. It would have a huge carry weight making it useful for transporting loot and like an otter it can hold two artifacts. This creature would also be decently fast, like a dire bear, the more it swims the faster it gets. Why It should be added: This creatures healing ability would be very useful for the motor boss fight on genesis. It’s speed and health would also make it useful for all underwater caves. Overall the Steller’s sea cow if added would make a great addition to arks mostly boring oceon.- 5 replies

Edaphosaurus mimos - cave companion and bane of Purlovia
SmileShape posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
ARK has many prehistoric creatures, but I think we could use some more that are not necessarily more large theropods or creatures that are better counterparts. We have many dinosaurs, other reptiles, mammals, some insects, fish, even a few birds, but I think synapsids are the group that's being slept on. That's why I thought they could use a member that could really prove useful in later parts of the game or maybe even PVP. Overview Edaphosaurus mimos would be a small creature, but since in ARK we don't really care about scientific sizes, I would put it somewhere between Phiomia and Ovis in these terms. This cousin of Dimetrodon, would also posses ability to mess with temperature, a bit differently, but more about that later. It would be an omnivore, that prefers honey over anything with taming method similar to that of a Gacha, where you just throw its taming food on the ground and wait for it to eat it. Domesticated specimens would also heal significantly more health after eating honey from their inventory, much like Rock Drakes do with Nameless venom. Since its too small and has the sail on its back, traditional saddle won't work, but maybe its sail could be strong enough to support two seats on the sides of Edaphosaurus. Edaphosaurus lives in swamps just like its cousin and just like its relative its not looking for trouble there. You'd normally find one or two strolling around despite all the crocs, snakes and Baryonyxes. They aren't aggressive nor territorial, but will defend themselves while attacked. Skills and abilities Edaphosaurus can manipulate temperature around it with its sail to create either extreme cold or heat. When set to specific one, they can send out an impulse of said temperature with cold slowing enemies, and heat setting them on fire. This can also be very useful in PVP as it also affects enemy players and giving them the effect of hypo/hyperthermia. Its worth noting that the impulses also have some other advantages to them. Flyers affected by cold impulse will be grounded for short time. That debuff reoccurs as long as the creature is in range of Edaphosaurus attacks. Fire impulse on the other hand, deals increased damage to insects. This abilities make Edaphosaurus great for caving since it can both ground bats with cold and make quick work of insects with heat. Both of these impulses can also make Purlovias jump out of the ground, they can't, however, throw off Edaphos rider for some time, while affected by this ability. Unlike Dimetrodon, this creature mastered the ability to control temperature of its own body to the extent where it can mask its presence from hostile creatures. In terms of stats it would have good weight and decent health for a creature of this size. It wouldn't be too fast (on par with Parasaur maybe), but running wouldn't consume stamina, just like on Iguanodon. Its would be a decent swimmer as well, with no oxygen stat, but its temperature impulses don't work underwater. Be wary that unlike its cousin, Edapho isn't good for hatching eggs. At least not all of them. Since it can cause either extreme heat or cold, it might see some use in hatching Wvyern, Rock Drake or Magmasaurus eggs, but all the others probably won't be able to withstand such crazy temperature. Cosmetics On cosmetic side, I think it would be nice to see some sexual dimorphism, with males having bigger sails, and sail patterns differing between genders. If by any chance we could get some different variants of this creature, I could definitely see an aberrant one in Bioluminescent/Blue Chamber of Aberration, or an X variant in the Bog biome on Genesis. Maybe we could go as far as an R variant in Rockwells Corrupted Gardens on Genesis part 2... Conclusion If you liked my idea for this creature, please leave an upvote and if you have any other ideas of how to improve this critter, feel free to comment. I'd really like to know what other people think of how Edaphosaurus could be implemented in the game. Thanks for your time survivor!-
