  1. introducing the ark most hated dinosaur's: raptors "Orkoraptor" Name: orkoraptor Species: megaraptoran theropod Time: Cretaceous Period Diet: carnivore Temper: aggressive *Shadow mode: Introduction: Let's take a look at the Orkoraptor the improved rex/ Yutyrannus Main idea and function of this new creature is to have a raptor that's relevant in the end game, ideas such as: - camouflage - a Shadow mode for a last resort - catch bite for different size of Dino's - a roar to remove all buffs from enemy and debuffs for allies. - bleed damage and torpor attacks - able to track down carnivores from a high distance and players from a medium distance in camouflage mode. -able to grab most flyers with his charged bite ... wild: Wild orkoraptor most of the times is hidden waiting for the opportunity to strike down his enemies, his ability to camouflage makes it near impossible to see, hear, or track down. Most of the time found roaming the volcanic area slaughtering mantis and fighting other rexes. Taming process: To tame this dangerous creature you'll need to have some preparation, a tamed Parasaur to detect the orkoraptor if needed because it will turn invisible the moment it spots you and stay like that until he lost interest in you.if you fully prepared then you'll need to force the creature into his shadow mode and surviving it without him losing aggression on you, and after shadow mode is done you'll need to feed it tames ,Parasaur being the best feed followed by his enemy the rexes. Feeding it will not fully heal it but it will heal overtime and you'll need to tame it before his health is maxed or you'll start losing taming effectiveness overtime. If not feed for a certain time it will turn wild again and start attacking you. *Outside of shadow mode: tamed: -complete camouflage until stamina is drained even if attacked or attacking. -the ability to pin down medium size Dino's such as a trike to the ground with the mouth while dealing bleed damage ( stacking bleed as long as the dino is pinned) -normal bite attacks stack until the meter is full to lunch a strong bite attack catching the enemy from different areas for 2 seconds depending of the size, making them unable to move for 5 seconds. Small Dino's from the back dealing very high damage. Medium size Dino's from the face dealing a toxic attack increasing torpor Big Dino's such as a T-Rex from the neck dealing bleed damage The charged bite against Some flyers will put them down to the ground with a stun effect. - after the orkoraptor gets to 5% health he enters a Shadow mode: gaining double attack speed, normal bites deal bleed damage and unable to receive damage for 15 second's, but unable to attack and receive double damage after shadow mode is finished unless it's healed up to 25% health - ability to roar outside of camouflage mode removing all buffs and debuffs from self and nearby tames. - in camouflage mode the creature is soundless to the enemy or wild Dino's. -the ability to track down other rivals such as rexes from a high distance making them able to plan an attack carefully and other players from a mediocre distance while in camouflage mode. utilities: - This creature is single handedly able to track down and make the life of other players a living hell, with his ability to camouflage and track down other players and their tames, exploring in pvp will never be the same. Will this force everyone to have a spare Parasaur while in the wilds? - his pen ability makes it very hard to deal with, you'll never know when you'll be pinned until you're in the ground. ( Jump scares?) Not suitable for the weak hearts. -even if you manage to beat it down to low health, you'll better have a tanky creature or his shadow mode will finish the job. Don't get close and shoot from afar , if you're able to see it . Conclusion: just a fun horror dealing raptor to change to mood of just bite bite bite and die normality of ark, could be very fun to try something new like this.
  2. ABOUT THE REAL THING The spectrovenator was a small carnivorous dinosaur from cretaceous brazil, it got its name for the fact it was found below the fossil of another animal, a sauropod, almost like it was haunting it INACCURATE GOODNESS The spectrovenator is a mid sized predator of the highlands, it posseses an ability to pass trough rocks, buildings, and trees, by entering ghost mode, which also makes it invisible to the naked eye, although, once you enter ghost mode, there is only one way to get out of it, which is by having the spectrovenator's food Stat drained all the way to zero, but dont worry, when in ghost mode it's food drains 1 point per second, when in ghost mode it will eat any consumable that is on its or your inventory, and if you dismount it will attack you, your tame, and anything it sees to try to fullfill its ravenous hunger, it will even gather and eat berries from bushes! Another ability is that when in a 50 meter radius from a sauropod, be it tamed or wild, it's defense and attack stat will get multiplied, this is called the haunting bonus, the stronger the sauropod, the bigger the bonus! Amarg: defense and damage get multiplied by 2 Diplo: defense and damage get multiplied by 3 Bronto: defense and damage get multiplied by 5 Titanosaur: defense and damage get multiplied by 8 To tame it, you have to reduce it's health to 1% so it enters ghost mode, then drop narcotics on the ground so it eats them and gets knocked out. DOSSIER
  3. Megaraptor (technically Aerosteon but same difference, all Megaraptorans from Austroraptor to Miap look alike) model by JWE modding team Jagged Fangs Designs Common name: Megaraptor Species: Megaraptor pugnator Time period: Late Cretaceous Temperament: Aggressive Diet: Carnivore General gameplay concept: A medium to large sized predator, Megaraptor are particularly smart by dinosaur standards and are capable of being trained to specialize in killing specific creatures. Much like the Desmodus, the Megaraptor's saddle allows survivors to create unique charms/coatings using various resources that can be feed to a Megaraptor to give it increased combat potential against certain "tiers" of dino, decided by, let's say, dragweight. For example, a charm created from extra small eggs with some stone and flint will grant the Megaraptor a buff against tiny animals like dodos and lystrosaurus; whereas one made with any alpha drop, metal, and polymer can grant buffs against apex-tier animals like rex and wyverns. One can even sacrifice artifacts to give an advantage against the Dragon and Manticore (as well as other bosses if transferred off of Ragnarok). As for how this buff works, a Megaraptor several passive bonuses whenever it is in range of its specialized targets (think how Triceratops get stronger in the presence of large predators). Both its primary slash and secondary leap attacks turn into more powerful variations (detailed later), and the Megaraptor receives a moderate movement speed increase and stamina usage decrease. These latter functions can have utility outside of strict combat; clever survivors may purposefully equip their tame with a charm intended for use against very weak but very common animals (or even a shoulder pet!) in order to quickly traverse the ARK. However, to give a potential reason to go without a charm equipped, the modified attacks a Megaraptor receives when under the effects of the charm buff do less damage than their normal counterparts when used against non-targeted species. As to further function as a combat focused mount, Megaraptor can use its dexterous arms and large talons to pierce through certain defenses, such as prying open the Doedicurus' rolled up state. Additionally, using its long arms Megaraptor can swat away bolas, Archaeopteryx, and various flyers to prevent them from dismounting its rider. A Megaraptor's secondary attack is to leap upwards while reaching out with their claws, with them slamming anything they manage to hit into the ground for a momentary stun that slows movement to a crawl and prevents jumping/climbing/flying. Megaraptor are even capable of using their talons to dig into the ground while running to come to a quick momentary stop and rapidly change direction, effectively drifting like the Andrewsarchus. Very useful if you find yourself suddenly approaching any cliff or other vast drop. While not adept climbers like Thylacoleo and Megalania, Megaraptor can clamber up ledges after jumping by pressing and holding the jump key a second time. If you have played any FPS in the past 5 years, you get the drill. Taming Ideas and Wild behavior: Wild Megaraptors are rare loners, most frequently found around the Volcano in the North and Southwestern Islands. Even wild Megaraptor are particularly adept at ripping flyers out of the air, so take care if you are exploring the area on something not prepared to duke it out on the ground. In a similar fashion to the Voidwyrm and Reaper Queen, a Megaraptor must be fought to be tamed (only when a survivor reaches an arbitrary but high level, ala some other passive tames). Upon reaching a certain damage threshold (percentage based on its max health), the Megaraptor will enter a dazed state for a limited period of time. When this happens, a survivor can approach the creature and feed it a tribute item from another creature, with taming effectiveness based on the rarity of said tribute item (ie, titanoboa venom isn't going to do a lot, but alpha drops from things like rex and mosas will be extremely effective). Feeding the Megaraptor will heal it fully, allowing you to repeat the process. Taking damage in the dazed state will instantly snap it out of its daze and tank the taming effectiveness. Stats, Attacks, and Misc. Size: Medium-large, maybe somewhere in the range between the Carnotaurus and Allosaurus Speed: Moderately fast, very fast when under the effect of the charm buff Health: Moderate, maybe 600 or so. Primary, LMB attack: Megaraptor both bites and slash at its prey at once for moderate damage, nothing special by itself. When charm buffed, this attack becomes faster and will strike a second time to increase its dps. Secondary, RMB attack: A two part attack, consisting of an aimed leap and a follow up downwards slash. Grounds anything that wasn't touching the ground (examples include flying animals, climbing Megalania, and survivors utilizing grappling hooks or parachites) and stunning them for a few seconds. This stun slows movement by 75% and prevents jumping/flying/climbing. When charm buffed, successfully landing both hits on any target will for 10 seconds grant the primary attack further attack speed and lifesteal based on damage dealt. Unridden Megaraptor will intermittently use this combo when applicable, though not with the same efficiency as a ridden one. Tertiary, C attack: A slow but powerful strike that can force certain animals out of defensive states. For example, Doeds will be forced to uncurl, and buried Purlovia will be unearthed. When sprinting, hitting this key will instead initiate the drift mechanic. This attack gains no changes from the charm buff Jump: Can clear roughly its own height, with a somewhat vertical posture allowing it to reach higher ledges to clamber. Other passives: Prevents dismount, cannot be grabbed by anything but a Tusoteuthis. Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megaraptor TLDR: Carnivorous dinosaur similar in stats to Allo that can equip charms made from various resources to gain combat buffs from whatever species that dermis is from. Can clamber up ledges and drift while sprinting. Can't be dismounted and grounds flyers with a special attack. "Passive" tamed by feeding it tribute drops.
  4. The one thing that is not at all present in ark is a creature for taming, some creatures like the poison wyvern and lightning wyvern as well as the basilisk have torpor attacks, but they do too much damage to be useful for taming, I propose the nephilia jurassica, a large spider (would be Enlarged to a rideable scale in game, acting as a sort of larger more useful version of current spiders) this arachnid would have a multitude of abilities left click (normal) a medium damage bite and stab that applies a poison to whatever is hit Right click (normal) A very low damage but high torpor (melee damage dependent) venomous shot, acts similar to a tranq dart right click (alternative) or c a web shot that acts similar to a net gun, downing medium sized predators and taking flyers out of the sky or alternatively acting similarly to a bear trap if shot to the ground (easily destroyed by sharp objects such as axe, sword or even by torches and such) The nephilia Jurassica would only be able to be obtained near still bodies of water where it can catch its prey, bugs and such. The only way to bring one back for yourself is through the closely guarded eggs of the females, which, you would have to harvest off of a female using bug repellent and a ghilli suit, it may take multiple tries as the eggs are fragile and easily broken! Once domesticated the large orb weavers eggs become easier to harvest as they less resistant to your presence. They may also be useful for producing an alternative form of narcotics in the form of a toxin produced from their venom. pictured is a golden orb weaver, a common day arachnid from the same family as nephilia jurassica, very similar in appearance although significantly smaller
  5. Common Name : Outesi Species Name : Marcoeuphractus Outesi Diet : Carnivore/Scavenger Temperament : Opportunistic Wild Among the islands solitary predators is Marcoeuphractus Outesi, is most commonly seen chasing down smaller prey or stealing the already killed prey of the islands many large theropods. The only way it is capable of doing this is because its thick hide and hard shell, but don't let that shell fool you this armadillo is by far one of the fastest carnivores on the island rivaling even the Allo in speed and overtaking the Rex in stamina. This solitary creature is passive toward the survivors of the island and can be approached by anyone as long as they do not rial it up to much. Unfortunately when approached by any carnivore larger than itself it will instantly attack. The only only way to calm a riled up Outesi is to bring its health below 25% this will cause it to curl into a ball similar to the Doedicurus. Tamed The only way to tame this creature is to find one of the young and either cuddle it or feed it the food it desires. After this creature is either fed or cuddled you will need to back off as the mother will come to defend its child. if the mother catches you near her pup the baby will become scared of you and the mother will proceed to try and kill you. After you have successfully tamed one they do not require a saddle to be ridden. Although I would suggest a saddle be made for it as this creature's tuff bony exterior "shell" is extraordinarily uncomfortable. Sorry for the weird images I had to use a crude website to put them together.
  6. Ark Maip Dossier and Render done by KasparHen Disclaimer Hello everyone! I'm back again with the Maip macrothorax, Ark's Endgame Megaraptor. After looking at some suggestions and comments, I tried to give it some things that would make it stand out more from the rest of Ark's carnivorous dinosaurs. I have changed its abilities, updated its dossier, gave it a unique taming method, and gave it new mechanics that help it fit in line with Scorched Earth. I now present to you all the revised version of Maip! Basic Info Common Name: Megaraptor/Maip Species: Maip macrothorax Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Maip macrothorax is a unique dinosaur from the mysterious megaraptoran clade of theropods. Known for their large, scythe like claws, these predators use them with deadly efficiency - capable of shredding through any target they set their gaze on. Due to this attribute, the Maip lives up to the name ‘shadow of death’. After spending some time studying this dinosaur, I have discovered that Maip see wyverns as their natural competitor. As such, I have often witnessed many skirmishes between the two species. Due to this rivalry, Maip has evolved to be able to leap astonishing distances without sustaining massive injury. This allows them to be able to raid the nests of wyverns and help wipe out the competition. Domesticated: Once tamed, Maip can serve as a unique debuffer. It’s able to cripple creatures using a special slash. This attack can be used on any creature but where it truly excels is when it’s used on aerial creatures. When the attack connects, it’ll instantly drain all of the target’s stamina and force it to land. At this point, the creature will be unable to regenerate any stamina for a short period of time and will take increased damage from attacks. I have witnessed tribes using Maip to more effectively combat wyverns. They do this by using the Maip’s superior agility to evade the wyvern’s breath attacks before proceeding to leap into the air and perform a slash so powerful it cripples the wyvern, forcing it to land. Legends have been told of one survivor that owns a Maip that is able to embue its claw attacks with the effect of a wyvern. They say this was done by giving the Maip a wyvern talon. Utility Abilities: Primary Attack: - A simple bite attack that deals a decent amount of damage. Secondary Attack: - Pressing or holding down the corresponding button will have the Maip rapidly swipe its claws. Looking in a certain direction will cause the Maip to swipe its claws while turning to face that direction. This would work like the Sarco’s bite where it can turn while attacking. Crippling Slash: [C] – Upon pressing the corresponding button, Maip will leap forward and perform a powerful slash attack with both of its hands. This attack will inflict a new, unique debuff called “Crippling Wound.” This ability will cost stamina and go on a cooldown for 5-10 seconds after successfully being used. This is Maip’s most powerful attack. By holding down the corresponding button, you’ll be able to charge up this ability and aim it. This would allow for much greater leaping distance, whether it be horizontally or vertically. This would specifically be used for helping Maip to reach flyers. Crippling Wound – If used on a land or water creature, this debuff will decrease their movement speed, slowly drain their stamina, and cause them to take more damage from incoming attacks. If used on an aerial creature, this debuff will instantly drain the flyer’s stamina and force them to land. At this point, the flyer will be unable to regenerate any stamina for a short period of time and will take more damage from incoming attacks. The flyer would also have decreased movement speed. Jump: [Spacebar] - Maip has the ability to jump upon pressing the corresponding button. If you hold the button down, Maip is able to do a super jump akin to the Reaper or Shadowmane. Passive - Reduced Fall Damage - Maip takes little to no fall damage. It’s able to fall from great heights without sustaining much injury. Aesthetic Roar: [Left-Ctrl] - An aesthetic roar that looks and sounds cool. Scorched Earth Theme After being on Scorched Earth for some time, Maip has grown to hate the presence of wyverns. In fact, it considers the wyverns as its natural enemy. Due to this, Maip has evolved to easily be able to raid the nest of wyverns and counter them. Utilizing its super jump, Maip is able to leap into the wyvern trenches and steal wyvern eggs. When in the presence of wild/enemy/allied wyverns, Maip gains a 15-20% damage output and resistance buff. Maip could also have the ability to use wyvern effects on its claw attacks. Let me explain how this would work. When you kill a wyvern, it drops a talon. Maip could have a special slot in its inventory that allows it to equip the wyvern talon. This would allow Maip to gain the effects of that wyvern. The effects of the wyvern talon would be applied to the Maip’s basic claw attack and its crippling slash ability. Fire Wyvern Talon: Maip’s claws are imbued with fire. Imbued with fire, the Maip would give targets the Enflamed debuff or a lesser version of the debuff that doesn’t burn away as much health. Its claws and horns would be red to visually indicate to players it has a fire talon equipped. Lightning Wyvern Talon: Maip’s claws are imbued with electricity. Imbued with electricity, the Maip gains increased attack speed and the ability to stun its target. The stun would be akin to the Baryonyx. After the stun wears off, the target would have stun immunity for x amount of time before being able to be stunned again. Its claws and horns would be blue to visually indicate to players that it has a lightning talon equipped. Poison Wyvern Talon: Maip’s claws are imbued with a corrosive acid. Imbued with this corrosive acid, the Maip’s attacks would cause the target’s torpidity to increase along with degrading armor. Its claws and horns would be green to visually indicate to players it has a poison talon equipped. If this idea was implemented, it could be expanded upon to include the other wyverns. Unique talon drops would have to be made for those wyverns. Roles Debuffer: With the ability to gain special properties when equipping wyvern talons, Maip has the potential to inflict multiple debuffs on opponents. It's also able to inflict a unique debuff, Crippling Wound. These debuffs can be used to a survivor's advantage by helping to weaken the enemy. Nest Raider: Due to its high maneuverability, reduced fall damage, and astonishing jump height, Maip is perfect for helping survivors to raid the nests of wyverns. It can assist them in more easily being able to obtain wyvern eggs. Anti-Flyer: Maip is able to forcefully land any flyer by using its Crippling Slash ability. This allows Maip to swiftly dispatch any pesky flyers. Wyvern Fighter: Able to effectively fend off and fight wyverns. Due to getting a 15-20% damage output and resistance buff when in the presence of wyverns, Maip is perfect for taking them down. Manticore Fighter: Since wyverns can be brought into the Manticore boss fight, Maip can be paired up with them to allow the dinosaur to gain its 15-20% damage output and resistance buff. This can help survivors defeat the Manticore as Maip will be dishing out more damage to the boss while also taking less damage from it. Guardian: Can be used to guard bases or slow moving transport tames. Its variety of attacks allow Maip to hold its own against most creatures. Travel: A relatively quick and agile dinosaur, Maip is able to help survivors explore the vast wastelands of Scorched Earth. The dinosaur is able to protect their rider against the many threats that can be found out in the desert. Artwork done by DILONG Taming To tame a Maip, you must first head into the wyvern trench and collect wyvern talons. You will get wyvern talons by killing wyverns. Once you have wyvern talons and find a Maip you want to tame, you must equip the wyvern talon into your 0 slot. The Maip will sense that you have a wyvern talon equipped and immediately proceed to hit you with a crippling slash. You must be able to tank the hit and survive. Upon hitting you, the Maip takes your wyvern talon and plays an animation where it becomes super angry. You want to hop on the Maip while this animation is playing. At this point, you get taming progress on Maip by killing wyverns in the trench with it. The Maip will get the wyvern-related buffs while you’re riding on it. If you survive with it and kill enough wyverns, it will be tamed. Once tamed, and not equipped with a saddle, it'll have a timer before it knocks you off. This timer should give you enough time to get out of the wyvern trench. Credit goes to TanukiiTricks in the comments for this idea. I liked it so much that I decided to implement it here into the main post. Ark Fear Evolved Now you’re all probably wondering why there is a section involving Ark’s Halloween event here. Simple answer, the Dodowyvern. Since the Dodowyvern is something that spawns only on Scorched Earth and only comes around once a year, I thought it would be a fun little idea to add on a way Maip can benefit from it. What better way to fight the Dodowyvern than with a dinosaur that is built for countering wyverns. The crippling slash ability probably wouldn't be as effective on the Dodowyvern though, since it's a boss creature. I would probably make it to where hitting the Dodowyvern with the crippling slash ability would just grant the same effects as hitting a land creature with it. So, you wouldn't be able to instantly drain all of its stamina and force it to land. Upon defeating the Dodowyvern, it will drop the Dodowyvern Mask Skin. It would be preferable if the Dodowyvern just dropped its own special trophy or something but it currently doesn’t have one. Anyways, you can offer Maip the Dodowyvern Mask Skin (or trophy if that gets made) to have it become the ultimate frenzy machine for a couple of minutes. Maip will play a special “powering up” animation of sorts when you give it the trophy of the Dodowyvern. Fury of the Dodowyvern: Upon offering Maip the trophy of the Dodowyvern, it will gain this buff. This buff allows the Maip’s claws to randomly swap between the effects of the fire wyvern, lightning wyvern, and poison wyvern after every use of a claw attack (this includes crippling slash). Along with this, the Maip will gain the 15-20% damage output and resistance buff regardless of if there’s any wyverns around or not. Maip and its rider will also be immune to the effects of wyvern breath attacks during the duration of the buff. The Maip's claws and horns would rapidly change between the colors of red, blue, and green to visually indicate to players it has this buff. The caveat to this is that it only lasts a few minutes. Feel free to run wild and make everyone flee in terror before this buff runs out! Additional Information on the Real-life animal: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maip
  7. (Massive Shoutout to the user TheCornSnake For his AMAZING suggestion of the weather effects, All credit goes to them. I've gona ahead and changed some of info to have it better fit the game mechanics. Happy Voting everyone!) (Added a Dossier! Sorry if it looks rushed, I have very little exeperience with gimp ^^;) Gorgonopsid Species: Gorgonops tempestomodus Time: Permian Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Weather-dependent Wild While traveling the dunes of the desert, I never once thought I would come face to face with a Gorgonops! The one that I had encountered was far larger than any on the fossil records. Though I was a bit perplexed as to why it didnt attack me outright. It wasnt until I kept a close eye that I noticed it seemed to change behavior depending on the weather condition. Extreme heat agitated it and seemed to gain an increase in power though it calmed down when it chased me towards an Oasis, Electrical storms frightened it and seemed to become even more passive, but sandstorms is where this beast really shined. Its coloration allowed it to seemlessly blend in with the storm itself. Absolutely marvelous! My best advice is to not be around the beast during the strange weather patterns. Curiously, this creature has a pention for hunting down the deadliest creature in the dunes, Deathworms Domesticated Taming a Gorgonops can be a rather finicky endevour. From what other survivors have told me, It can only be tamed during the weather events on this Ark. Strewth! But should you consider yourself lucky to tame one, you will find one of best mounts one could ask for. While tamed, the weather conditions seem to amplify certain aspects of the creature. Heatwaves give it more strength, health, and grant the rider protection from the harsh heat. During a thunderstorm, the beasts speed and stamina are greatly increased, allowing for a fast method of travel across the vast desert dunes. While Sandstorms give this creature the ability to camoflauge with the storm itself, giving both it and its rider the element of surprise on would be attackers. I've seen clever survivors using its scent ability to find Deathworms and Oasis' while out on their travels. Taming Gorgonops can only be tamed during a weather event, and the type of weather determines the method. While Deathworms are its favorite food, Dead or Alive, others types of meat will suffice. Ordinary Weather – Gorgonops is solitary and wont attack unless provoked. Make yourself appear as a worthy challenge by attacking it! It will then respond back with a roar, accepting your invitation. Impress this beast with you skills be they swords, guns, or your own two fists! Heatwave – Gorgonops is irritated and needs to cool down!! If you're fast enough, try leading it to an oasis! Drinking the water will calm it down, allowing you passive feed it deathworm horns and other types of meat Electrical storms – Gorgonops doesn’t like the lightning, it needs comforting! Give the creature some loving pats and feed it treats like raw meat and raw prime. Sandstorm – help Gorgonops fulfil its need to hunt. Should one lure it to Deathworms and aid it in battle, You will find this creature growing more fond of you and may ocassionally ask for treats! These treats will heal the creature and increase taming! Tamed Abilities While riding Gorgonops, the player receives increased heat insulation and reduced water drain, and will also receive no penalty from weather events: so no stamina drain during sandstorms, no damage taken during a heatwave, and can still use electrical weapons (while mounted) during an electrical storm. During normal weather conditions, I envisage Gorgonops to be an upper-middle tier carnivore. It’s main benefits would be the aforementioned passive buffs, as well as a sniff ability which detects buried animals (deathworms) and highlights nearby water sources. The scent ability could definitely be expanded based on other's suggestions. Weather changes gameplay… Heatwave – now more aggressive, Gorgonops has greater damage and health regen, and gains a modified bleed which targets stamina on tamed creatures and water/water regen on players. This is the fighting-form of the creature, and should be approximately equivalent to rex/spino in power. Electrical storm – Speed and stamina are now greatly increased. This is a traversal mode, and with the ability to keep using advanced weapons, might make a good scout. Sandstorm – Gorgonops does not lose stamina and gets a passive detection which highlights nearby creatures (thus alleviating the reduced visibility). It also gets a stealth mode, similar to the rock drake, representing its ability to camouflage itself within the storm. This would make the creature great for stalking and picking off stranded players and tames. However this can seen through things like the Parasaurus creature detection and outline through a Tek Helmet. Aditional notes: -You can breed them -Can you use them for boss fights? Of course you can! -Whats the size of this lad? Well I imagine it being somwhere around the size of a Shadowmane. Possibly be somewhat larger. -Wouldnt this guy be useless on other maps? Not necesarily! Even without its unique abilities Gorgonops can still be a powerhouse should it be included on other maps. -Similar to creatures like the Megatherium, Calicotherium, and Shadowmane, I envision this creature to have unique idle animations and and like the megatherium and shadowmane it can be told to lay down. -If other information needs to referenced for the creature he is the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inostrancevia.
  8. Basic Premise Due to the utter scarcity of Tyrannosaurus and complete lack of Spinosaurus on Scorched Earth, this large bipedal predator has risen to the top of the food chain. It's intention is to be similar to the Tyrannosaurus in ability and power, with a few differing factors. Specifics Tyrannotitan is a ferocious predator with a mindset that it must defend its title as King of the Desert. As such, it gains a rivalry buff that boosts its damage and reduces damage taken when near other large carnivores such as Tyrannosaurus. For balancing purposes, the buff will get smaller the larger the creature. For example, the Tyrannotitan will deal less damage to a Tyrannosaurus than an Allosaurus. When wild, the Tyrannotitan will also prioritize killing any carnivore larger than Carnotaurus, such as Allosaurus or Tyrannosaurus. Despite these advantages, it is less tanky and deals less damage than the Tyrannosaurus. However, it does bite quicker, much like its relatives Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus (at least in real life). Possible Taming Method Due to the ferocity of Tyrannotitan, it does not knockout from normal tranquilizer ammunition. Instead, you must chain bola the beast and passively feed it meat. After feeding it the first time, it will become friendly towards the player and the player's tames. After that, you must offer it the arms of a Tyrannosaurus to fully gain its trust. Possible Saddle Unlock Level The saddle should be unlocked at the same level of the Tyrannosaurus: level 74. Further Reasoning Despite many people not wanting more large theropods, there really is no rival to the Tyrannosaurus. Spinosaurus comes close, but it misses the mark unless near water. The Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus are far too large and powerful for the Tyrannosaurus to beat alone. The Tyrannotitan is meant to be a true rival to the throne of the Tyrannosaurus. It is the King of the Desert, after all.
  9. Aerotitan is supposed to be a fun mid to late game dino that can be used in PvP and PvE as it is highly malleable and can be slightly modified to more match your playstyle. Originally, I designed it to be a Tropeo with a gatling gun instead of a grenade launcher (a fighter instead of a bomber) because I already love the Tropeo and I wish the Quetzal had a little more polish/utility. I also love playing with the Astrodelphis so why not bring that fun back into the world of dinosaurs? Before the idea of a customizable saddle came to mind, Aero was originally going to have a very small platform saddle, maybe enough for two triangle foundations, that you could put your weapon of choice on but then I remembered- you cant pilot your tame and mount a turret at the same time, so I changed it from a platform saddle to a modular saddle. I know things will be changed before anything gets in the game, so I'll put it simply; Aerotitan was originally supposed to be a machine gun version of the Tropeo. I've since revised it to make it more unique, but if everything gets cut in the end, I'd at least like it to have those sorts of traits. One last thing to note- above all, I spent most of my time and effort designing the thing to be Ark-friendly, so I hope- if it does get in the game- it keeps the markings / general design I made just for Studio WildCard! Now enough of this introduction, you guys want to see dinosaurs, not essays! Blank dossier by Hamfist on Steam. Huge Thanks! Aerotitan The Approaching Storm Wild Aerotitan Sudamericanus is a flying terror and a force to be reckoned with. Their eerie bellow will alert you to their presence, as well as your own presence in *their* territory. The skies of Scorched Earth are their domain, going so far as to rival the power of the fantastical wyverns that conquer this ARK. While they typically end up turning tail before being able to overpower these foes, creatures like pteranodon, lymantria, vultures, and especially humans should certainly watch their backs around these greedy animals. Strangely, their flying only seems to get better in inclement weather, making the desert the perfect place for them to roost. Tamed While this pterosaur is a highly formidable opponent, even they have their limits. Should their opponent outlast them in combat, Aerotitan Sudamericanus will make a temporary tactical retreat to land and recover their stamina. Some survivors have taken this opportunity to place saddles on them and, if they can last long enough, ride the creature til it accepts that their new master isn't leaving anytime soon. Their impressive size and strength allows for a robust saddle that can support an interchangable module with an ammo box base, as well as one gas-powered turbine under each wing. The customizability of their gear allows for any survivor to easily persist in the unforgiving environment of the desert, be it against the deathworms of the wastelands or the most dangerous game there is. Taming In Detail: The survivor would have to level their stamina along with their target in order to add this tame to their tribe. After staying in an Aero's airspace for long enough, they will make a distinct cry to indicate taming has begun. The goal from here would be to bear the brunt of the dino's attacks until it's stamina drains completely, forcing it to land. Attacking it can also lower it's stamina but it would reduce effectiveness. The survivor would have ~15 seconds to access it's inventory, equip it with a saddle, and ride it; gaining more taming progress the longer the survivor stays on the saddle. Staying on the saddle while it is untamed drains a survivor's stamina and they will be forced to dismount when their stamina reaches 0. The survivor will then have one minute to get back into the air with the Aerotitan, repeating the process until taming is complete. If the survivor does not reach the Aerotitan again within one minute, the Aerotitan will destroy the saddle and taming will reset. Unique Passive Ability: In rain, fog, electrical storms, or any other inclement weather, the Aerotitan gets a 20% speed boost. DJ4275 suggested this buff be called Stormchasing. Stats: Health 575 Stamina 600 Oxygen 150 Food 1400 Weight 450 Melee 24* Movement 710 Torpor 830 Saddle: The saddle by default is only two turbines and an ammo box that can store a limited amount of a single ammo type, the limit being the carry weight of the tame. The ammo will not count towards the overall carryweight on the Aero, but the saddle weighs 30 units without an attachment. Each attachment weighs an extra 10 units. Only one attachment can be used at a time. The Aerotitan can fly/sprint without powered turbines, but only slightly faster than a quetzal. Gasoline still goes in the Aerotitan's inventory. Saddle Attachments: Rocket turret attachment- Same ingredients/functionality as the rocket turret. Flak cannon attachment- Similar in functionality to the tropeognathus saddle, however, grenades can be retrieved from the ammo box on the Aero's back instead of it's inventory. Minigun turret attachment- A minigun that uses advanced rifle bullets from the ammo box part of the saddle. Controls: (WASD) Left Click: Bite Right Click: Rear Up (Standing) / Kick (Flying)(Can be used in combination with grab to throw things to the ground) X: Reverse (Standing (Makes the Aero turn around in place)) / Buck (Small, weak AOE attack) C| Call (Standing (Aesthetic)) / Grab (Flying)(Cannot pick players off saddles) Jet Controls: Left Control: Activate Turbines Left Click: Fire weapon (If not weapon equipped, bite) Right Click: Bite X: U-Turn C| Grab Design: Trivia: The design is generally based off a standard naturally-occurring jungle camouflage. The four feathers that stick out from the back of the head are meant to resemble the nose propellers of some of the first military aircraft that were commercially used in the US. The "mouth" on the neck is inspired by a combination of several things; false markings like some smaller animals have to scare off predators (like the eye spots on an owl moth), the red feathers of a ruby-throated hummingbird, and the livery that is typically painted on A-10 Warthogs. The eyes feature a red sclera and silver irises to look like those of a Bearded Vulture.
  10. The Acrocanthosaurus was an extremley large lizard in the "therapod" family. Unlinke other therapods, this dino had high spines on its Vertebrae. It reached up to possibly 11.5 meters (38 feet) and an estimated weight of 5 to 6 tonnes. Living in the cretaceus period this lizard roamed the desert and mountains, totally dominating all prey in its path. The males of this species had slightly larger spines differing from the females. Scientists' studies of its brain had showed that this treeifying creature had a highly developd sense of smell. As a close relative of the well-known Carchardontasaurus, they had both lived in early Africa. This devil of Mesozic era rivaled with many creatures of similar size, and was beleived to be the biggest therapod ever, before the evolution of the Tyrannasaurus Rex.

    Liopleurodon

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Liopleurodon Species: Liopleurodon Magicus Time: Mid-Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Patient Wild: Liopleurodon Magicus is a mid-sized ocean predator. Typically between 20 and 25 feet long, it mostly hides within the reefs, waiting to ambush prey that swims by. Due to its low acceleration and medium speed, Liopleurodon tends not to chase prey that escape its initial devastating chomp attack. The species on the island almost seems, to be magical. The reptiles skin secretes an oil that, when absorbed through skin contact, makes the rider process oxygen more efficiently for extreme diving. When traveling the ocean for resources Liopleurodon will show you the way. Domesticated: Neither the fastest swimmer, nor the most powerful ocean predator, Liopleurodon still has its uses for those wanting to stay underwater for extended periods of time. Many tribes use Liopleurodon for long duration oil-and-oyster harvesting trips. Often, those who don't believe in the Liopleurodons qualities are shunned.

    Allosaurus

    From the album: Dossiers

Common name: Allosaurus Species: Allosaurus Therotribus Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressively Social Wild: Smaller but faster than tyrannosaurus, larger but slower than Carnotaurus, Allosaurus Therotribus is the island's resident pack-hunting theropod. While most aggressive theropods are relatively solitary creatures, Allosaurus lives in groups of 3-4. One Allosaurus is the alpha, while the others are its mates or a beta male. Like humans find value in forming a tribe, the Allosaurus has evolved to hunt in packs. Its saw-shaped teeth leave its prey bleeding and maimed, making escape difficult. Once an Allosaurus slows a creature with its cutting bite, the rest of its pack quickly close in for the kill. Domesticated: Not everyone thinks a tamed Allosaurus is ideal. Those who value speed generally tame Carnotaurus, while those who value raw stopping power tame Tyrannosaurus. However, Riders of Allosaurus tend to value the utility of its Alpha pack status, which along with its bleed-inducing attacks and relative mobility, can effectively turn the tide of a combined arms battle.

    Troodon

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Troodon Species: Troodon Magnanimus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Nocturnally Aggressive Wild: Quite possibly the most intelligent non-human creature on the island, Troodon Magnanimus is an incredibly fast learner. It understands meaningful experiences much more quickly than other creatures (including humans), and its social nature means it also teaches its pack mates, making them more clever too. If Troodon’s cleverness didn’t make it formidable, than its tactics and biology do. It specifically pack-hunts at night when we are most vulnerable, and sees humans as its primary prey. This audacity is made especially dangerous due to its serrated fangs’ poison, which drains stamina from any creature, but outright paralyses humans. Thankfully, Troodon is fairly small. Were it larger, it might well have become the dominant creature of its ecosystem. Domesticated: I thought Troodon simply could not be tamed, until I finally saw a lone survivor with one. She told me that she let “Troody” hunt a few of her tribe’s smaller creatures for sport, and it eventually started following her everywhere. It seems that while Troodon is too intelligent to fall for the rote conditioning of ‘tranq-and-feed’, it can instead gradually gain loyalty from a social approach that provides it the opportunity to hunt. Ever since, I have wondered at the benefits that a pack of ultra-smart, bred-for-battle Troodon may bring to a tribe brave enough to earn the favor of these clever carnivores.

    Dossier: Megalania

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Megalania Species: Megalania Muruspede Time: Late Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Megalania Muruspede is among the largest creatures found throughout the island’s complicated cave networks. Reaching up to three meters long, it can traverse vertically up the cave walls with little difficulty, using its claws as iron-strength grips. Fortunately, Megalania’s size means it is unlikely to sneak up on anyone. Unfortunately for spelunkers, it is an aggressive and dangerous creature nonetheless. Like other Varanidae, Megalania is a venomous creature.. Its poison is slow-acting, but will drain the victim’s effective strength and health until death unless cured by a rare antidote. That said, the Megalania’s prey are usually ripped apart well before they succumb to the poison’s long-term effects. Domesticated: The extremely rare ability of Megalania to effortlessly climb walls makes it a highly sought after mount. While it is by no means the fastest, strongest, or toughest mount -- the way it can effortlessly climb in the caves and scale mountains means it will always have a place in any advanced tribe’s stables.

    Araneomorphus

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Spider Species: Araneomorphus amalgotantibus Time: No Equivalent, traits begin as far as Mesozoic Era Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: I don't know where to start with Araneomorphus amalgotantibus. It has so many of the nightmare inducing traits of spiders from among many family and genus. It fires webbing like a bola spider, it spits venom like a lynx spider. It has a poisonous bite like a myriad of spiders, and can see in the dark by sensing vibrations. And to top it off, Araneomorphus is larger than an adult human! If that wasn't enough, I'm convinced that some of the caves on the island have actually been dug by Araneomorphus, but this worries me. Either Araneomorphus is a colony-spider (like ants), or there is a much larger Araneomorphus somewhere on the island. Domesticated: As long as it is kept far from arachnophobics, domesticated Araneomorphus makes an excellent guardian creature for anyone wanting to avoid killing. Their strange web-spraying behavior is also quite helpful while hunting fast, fleeing prey. They are too small to be used as mounts, however...

    Electrophorus

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Electrophorus Species: Electrophorus Beluadomito Time: Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: Occupying a space in the low-to-middle end of the food chain, Electrophorus beluadomito is a carnivorous swimmer that feeds mostly off of shellfish and small fish. Despite its common name, it is actually a very long knifefish, and not an eel. It does not provide much meat, so many predators simply leave it be. Unlike most predators, it does not use brute strength to bring down its prey, but instead releases an electrical charge around itself to knock its prey unconscious. Alone, this can take out a small creature. When attacking together, Electrophorus can even bring down the larger ocean lifeforms, then feed as a group. Domesticated: By far, the most common use of Electrophorus is to subdue large ocean creatures. Knocking out a Plesiosaur or other giant deep-sea leviathan can be incredibly difficult, thus many tribes employ small schools of Electrophorusto shock targets into submission!

    Kaprosuchus

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Kaprosuchus Species: Kaprosuchus Paludentium Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: A smaller relative of the Sarcosuchus, Kaprosuchus Paludentium is water-based carnivore primarily found lurking among The Island's swamps. A naturally fast runner that is even faster in the water, it is a solitary hunter that picks off small-to-medium creatures especially those isolated from their pack. When attacking Kaprosuchus uses two main tactics. First, it patiently waits below the water surface and when the target is sufficiently close by, will perform a lateral jump that it uses to quickly close the distance with its prey and drag it underwater. Secondly, its attacks target the prey's vital areas specifically to drain its stamina. These two techniques effectively prevent most creatures from escaping Kaprosuchus once an assault has begun. Domesticated: Survivors are generally split about the usefulness of Kaprosuchus. Some love its speed both in and out of the water, essentially making it among the fastest small-sized all-terrain mounts when travelling through the wetlands. Others do not like how relatively frail Kaprosuchus is, and do not think its high speed and damaging attacks make up for this shortcoming.
  18. From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Archaeopteryx Species: Archaeopteryx Magnamilvum Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Fearful Wild: Approximately one meter long, the Archaeopteryx Magnamilvum is a primarily tree-dwelling proto-bird. It avoids the ground as much as possible, preferring to stay in the safety of the trees, where few predators can reach it. I’ve not seen an Archaeopteryx outright fly yet, so it’s possible that they can’t generate enough lift to do more than glide long distances between perches. I’m not sure how a creature as fearful of the ground can be such a picky eater, but Archaeopteryx only seems to consume certain rare insect matter. The most likely explanation is that it tends to nest in infested trees, stripping them bare of such food sources. Domesticated: While not large enough to bare the full weight of an adult human, Archaeopteryx still has great utility. Despite the creature’s inability to fly, its wings have sufficient strength to dramatically slow the rate of a person’s descent if that person holds Archaeopteryx while airborne. Taming Archaeopteryx can be somewhat troublesome, though, as it refuses to eat most common food sources, and glides to prospective safety at the first sign of any interloper.

A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone’s favourite powerful pouncing predator, the Tylacoleo! Common Name: Thylacoleo Species: Thylacoleo Furtimorsus Time: Late Pliocene - Late Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Thylacoleo Furtimorsus is a large, powerful marsupial that can often be found hunting around trees. Its long claws and semi-opposable digits make it an apt climber, a quality that Thylacoleo uses to its advantage while hunting. It clambers up trees and waits to ambush passing prey by pouncing upon them. When something that large jumps onto a target, it becomes stunned and doesn’t stand much chance. Thylacoleo’s most notable fighting quality is its powerful jaws. Once it bites its prey, it locks its jaw in an iron-strength grip that can hold most smaller creatures in place. Thylacoleo then goes on to savage its prey with its sharp claws. If it needs to escape a fight, Thylacoleo uses its muscular hind legs to jump back to safety among the trees. Domesticated: Thylacoleo is a moderately strong mount, and its ability to climb trees and jump long distances makes it useful for traversal such that developing tribes often tame it. Small raiding parties particularly favor Thylacoleo, as it is well suited to ambushes and unfair fights.

    Hyaenodon

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Hyaenodon Species: Hyaenodon Dirus Time: Late Eocene – Early Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Opportunistic Wild: Among the Island’s tenacious pack hunters is Hyaenodon Dirus, a carnivore most often found across the mountains and tundras, in packs of 3 to 5. The Hyaenodon is a very intelligent predator: before engaging, it determines if the payoff for a fight is worth the risk of injury. Hyaenodon often prefer not to fight unless there is already weakened prey nearby, or a fresh carcass. This temperament changes quickly, thought, near the presence of injured or dying creatures. Hyaenodon quickly becomes very aggressive, and the pack attacks with ruthless abandon. With each vicious chomp of scavenged meat, the Hyaenodon rapidly recovers health and stamina. Domesticated: Despite being too small to ride, Hyaenodon are still popular pets. Their intelligence means they train well, and their natural pack strength makes them excellent hunting dogs. Their capability to quickly recover health by consuming raw flesh off the bone ensures they can take much punishment and yet continue fighting. A common (and terrifying) sight on the tundra is a rider on a canis with a pack of Hyaenodon at it’s side, howls and jeers echoing through the night.

    Angler

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Pegomastax Species: Melanocetus Anglerprescum Time: Early Cretaceous-Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive to small fry, otherwise skittish! Wild: Whether it’s size is caused by adaptation to the island’s other inhabitants, or by cross-breeding with another larger species, Melanocetus Anglerprescum is the largest form of Anglerfish I’ve ever heard of. Typically found only among the deepest, darkest expanses of the ocean, this creature preys on smaller fish while being an excellent source of food for larger predators. Melanocetus has an array of bioluminescent light pods at the end of stalks on it’s head. Like typical Anglerfish, it primarily uses these to attract smaller fish and trick them into coming close enough for Melanocetus to consume it’s prey. This often makes wild Melanocetus itself relatively easy to spot among the briny depths. Domesticated: Exploring the depths of the ocean can be difficult. The cold, the lack of air, and the shocking absence of light combine to make travel very dangerous. A tamed Anglerfish can use the natural light at the end of it’s stalks to illuminate the depths, making exploration not only safer, but more lucrative. Furthermore, these luminescent nodules can be harvested to create long-lasting organic light emplacements for surface dwellings.

    Direwolf

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Direwolf Species: Canis Maxdirus Time: Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The best adjective to describe Canis Maxdirus is "scary". This pack-hunter is a cunning and brutal predator, capable of taking down prey of nearly any size. In addition to being a vicious hunter, it is the size of a small horse, meaning even the largest predators aren't necessarily safe from the packs. The species has an incredible affinity for teamwork. Unlike most creatures on the island, Canis is a dedicated pack hunter, and rarely hunts alone. In fact, Canis is naturally as effective with its packmates as most creatures are when their mate is in danger—when in a pack, they are naturally spurred to fight for their lives. Furthermore, when in a pack, the most experienced Canis will be designated "Alpha" and gain an even stronger enhancement. Domesticated: Obviously, Canis is an amazing battle mount. It is fairly fast, very strong, and agile. It can jump almost as well as the Island's battle cats. Riding a supercharged "Alpha" Canis into battle at the head of a bloodthirsty pack is a thrill for which most warriors would gladly proclaim: "Today is a good day to die!"

    Carno

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Carnotaurus Species: Carnotaurus pressor Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Carnotaurus pressor is an interesting creature that falls between medium and large predator. It lives primarily on flat clear ground, where it can capitalize on its speed. Additionally, it seems to have no qualms about running from larger predators instead of fighting. The horns of the Carnotaurus seem to be used more for fighting rival Carnotauri (Carnotauruses?) than actual hunting. This doesn't mean the horns aren't dangerous, though; they can still eviscerate larger prey. Carnotaurus is one of the smaller and more compact of the large predators. If Tyrannosaurus is the "Lion" of the island, Carnotaurus would certainly be the "cheetah". The real threat of a Carnotaurus is not being able to escape it once it sees you. Were it not for the creature's extremely long down-time after sprinting, it might be among the most capably balanced mounts. Domesticated: Carnotaurus fills a very specific role. Larger and almost as fast as a Raptor, smaller but much faster than a Tyrannosaurus.

    Cnidaria

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Cnidaria Species: Cnidaria omnimorph Time: Cambrian - Holocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Passive, but aggressive at close range Wild: Cnidaria omnimorph is another example of a creature which should not exist. It has traits that seem to come from many types of jellyfish. It possesses the size and shape of large egg-yolk jellies, the powerful sting of certain box jellies, and the bioluminescence of deep-sea jellies. This all combines to make a dangerous creature that lights up the deepest reaches of the ocean. Cnidaria is not generally an aggressive creature, because it lacks normal perceptive senses. it generally just floats on the current until something gets close enough to sense, at which point it attacks. While its attacks are not directly powerful, its sting injects an incredibly strong and fast-acting sedative. Most tribes kill Cnidaria on sight, then collect its reserve of powerful sedative, to use in technically advanced long-distance tranquilizers. Domesticated: As Cnidaria is barely more intelligent than a plant, there's no effective method to tame one. though dangerous as they can be, a few tribes even keep schools of them around to harvest.

    Beelzebufo

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Beelzebufo Species: Beelzebufo palucocus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Languorous Wild: Beelzebufo palucocus is the largest frog I've ever seen. Almost impossibly large, it can actually fit a full grown human adult on its back, though just barely. This is a dangerous prospect, though, as secretions from Beelzebufo's skin and saliva have a narcotic effect on most creatures. Not surprisingly, Beelzebufo is adept at killing insects. In fact, it kills most insects near-instantly, and quickly digests them. It even combines the narcotic chemicals in its mouth with the insects' chitin to create a sticky substance, allowing it to quickly grab prey from afar, and yielding a form of cementing paste. Domesticated: Tamed Beelzebufo make for strange mounts. Strange mounts for strange people. Many tribes don't believe there's any reason to ride them. But some like the ability to take large vertical hops up huge walls and cliffs. Regardless of how it is ridden, Beelzebufo is also employed for its ability to quickly cull insects, and convert them into always-useful cementing paste.
