Common Name: Wasteland Camel Species: Aepycamelus oxisovlus Time: Miocene Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: Evolved to survive in a harsh world of corrupted monsters and punishing landscapes, the wasteland camel is a formidable creature to encounter. Like modern camels, its first instinct is fight rather than flight. It will react aggressively to any nearby carnivores, corrupted creatures, or humans. Its projectile vomit (as camelids are known to do) has evolved into a corrosive acid spit that seems particularly effective against corrupted creatures. This ability has resulted in the wasteland camel's face adapting minimal soft tissue cover to prevent burning itself, lending it a grotesque vulture-like appearance. Due to its resilient, noxious biology the wasteland camel cannot be knocked out with narcotic weapons. Using calien soup or fria curry to sync oneself with its metabolism is the only way to safely approach it, after which it can be fed narcoberries, spoiled meat, or narcotics to earn its trust. Domesticated: The wasteland camel's great stride enables it to traverse the landscape very swiftly and thus makes for an excellent travel mount. Due to its ability to conserve energy, riding upon the camel's back prevents its rider from starving too quickly in wasteland environments. Being an omnivorous scavenger, the wasteland camel can collect berries and meat however only feeds on narcoberries and spoiled meat. Its saddle functions as a mortar & pestle for crafting narcotics, etc. from its inventory. Most notably, the wasteland camel's acid spit serves as an especially potent defense against corrupted creatures. Artist's Notes: Being a former camel keeper/handler myself I consider them among my favorite animals, and it's disappointing that there is a lack of prehistoric camels in ARK when there are so many cool genera to choose from. No, the Morellatops does not count. I incorporated a lot of my knowledge of/experience with camels into this design and it comes from the heart. Thank you for checking out my entry and I hope you've found it worth your vote!

Titanotylopus- The Giant Prehistoric Camel!
HondaCivic posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Titanotylopus was a Giant Prehistoric Camel that lived in North America, you would’ve thought it would live in the Desert. Titanotylopus would be a great edition to Ragnarök because it would usually live in places that look similar to the landscape of Ragnarök. The Titanotylopus would have a caravan boost whenever 3 or more Titanotylopus are in a vicinity of eachother. The Caravan boost provides a weight reduction for every material, and this will stack up with every Titanotylopus you add into the caravan. The max reduction would be up to 80%, regardless of how many Titanotylopus are in a caravan. The Titanotylopus would have a ranged and melee attack. The melee would just be a regular bite and kick. but the ranged attack would temporarily blind the opponent, it would work like a dilophosaurus. The Titanotylopus would be a great berry and fiber harvester in Ragnarök. You would also be able to get a platform saddle with this behemoth of a camel. The Titanotylopus would also be super faster due to modern day camels matching up their speed with horses. These are all of the reasons why you should vote for the Titanotylopus, The Giant Prehistoric Camel!. -
Dossier Common Name: Giant Camel Species: Megatylopus Adaptecus Time: Late Miocene - Late Pliocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Ornery WildMegatylopus Adaptecus, a species of camel, has the ability to survive in diverse habitats, from grasslands to deserts to snowy areas. Its large size and unique way of walking protect it from predators like direwolves and raptors, though it can defend itself with a strong kick or spit. Even the intimidating Carnotaurus is cautious around this species. It's massive stature and survivalist qualities made it a steadfast beast within Ragnarök. Domesticated Megatylopus is a valuable mount for those living in the desert or needing to cross snow-covered terrain. Its fur provides excellent insulation in freezing temperatures while its humps help regulate internal temperature. Mounting a Megatylopus gives a refreshing coolness, but domestication attempts may result in camel-spit in the face. It's rumored these animals can produce an incredible milk, a somewhat delicious and hearty meal to those without the appropriate resources to sustain themselves. Durable working-beasts are Megatylopus from incredible resource-haulers to boons in one's own survival, a survivor can never falter in the heat or cold with these beasties. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Potential Base Stats and Spawning Health: 525 Stamina: 450 Oxygen: 250 Food: 3,000 Weight: 650 Melee Damage: 35 Bite | 50 Kick | 25 Spit Torpidity: 1,020 Megatylopus spawns within Ragnarok’s various grasslands, the dangerous snow-habitats, and the Greener Desert. The variety of habitats that Ragnarok presents allows them to inhabit dozens of areas without an issue. But depending on the environment taming them becomes harder vs. another region. Taming How to tame a titanic uber-camel that doesn’t like to be bothered? You feed them a meal-time favorite and hope they don’t smash your face in with a hoof or smear your face with their saliva. Unlike a typical herbivore, these animals favor cactus sap, after your regularly scheduled kibble of course. Their survivalist tendencies to eat anything too difficult or putrid for anything else is a boon to them after all. Abilities & Functions Explained Insulation - The Camel has insulation, applying an insulation buff to it’s rider, the camel can protect from varying climates. In particular, the snow and desert, in which it likes to inhabit the most. So you're safe from the murder-snow with fur-armor and a giant camel to ride on, and you'd be decent at maneuvering fast there, while in the desert you can remain cool in even flak on the camel. Weight-Reduction - Adobe is somewhat a boon in the desert areas of the map, an animal that can maneuver a ton of cactus sap, clay, and sand without issue is always a benefit. A nice 25% weight reduction on the resources all those good-ol resources to be transported without an issue. Sandstorm Immunity - Megatylopus is a massive camel, camels inhabit the harshest of environments because they're built to survive. A sandstorm won't bother a Megatylopus and it's massive self. Camel Spit - The Camel, in fact spits a mouthful of unmentionable gunk, the mixture is exceedingly wretched to have in the face. Which inflicts a slow and blinding effect like the dilophosaurus venom. Camel Milk - A female Megatylopus can be milked, the milk that is provided can provide a mixture of food and water to a survivor. Essential in a survival situation if you're running low on your supplies, it's said camel milk can allow a traveler to survive a month without anything else. Small-Predator avoidance - a lot of the desert & tundra have a bunch of small carnivores, direwolves to terror-birds. So, the massive camel at around 18 ft at the shoulder is of course an impressive and dangerous animal. So of course a reasonable creature would in fact, not want to bother something that is easily able to shatter their skull.

Titanotylopus- The Giant Prehistoric Camel!
HondaCivic posted a suggestion in Creature submission archive
The Titanotylopus was a giant prehistoric camel that went up to 11ft at the shoulders. I think this would be a good creature submission because Camels are desert creatures, even though this one lived in North America. The Titanotylopus would encourage survivors to create caravans with their tribes to venture throughout the Scorched Earth. I know we already have the Morellatops, but I think tons of people would like to see the Titanotylopus for a change. The Titanotylopus will be a passive tame which will need only cactus, it will take nothing else besides Cactus. The Titanotylopus saddle will house extended storage ontop of reduced weight once paired with 2 other tamed Titanotylopus. One of the main reasons why this tame would be more efficient is because it’s a passive tame. Nobody wants to waste resources trying to knock out a Morellatops and a Paracer. Personally, I think this takes the edge compared to the Morellatops. Another boost this could give is when you’re in a caravan you get less effect when you get stuck in a heatwave or sandstorm, this would be really helpful because you can carry tons of items in the caravan without getting slowed down due to sandstorms or heatwaves. The Caravan boost will increase from 10% (3 camels) to a 80% weight reduction. You won’t be able to get any higher than that even with a very large caravan. The Heatwave and Sandstorm effects will not change but they will still be decreased once in a Caravan. When you tame 3+ Titanotylopus it could enable a Caravan boost which decreases how much items weight, they could be really helpful while crossing the Scorched Earth. Now you know why you should vote for the Titanotylopus to be in ARK because of the Caravan boost it can potentially get if WC could add it to the game. They could also add a Caravan boost with other creatures as well. A big factor on why this competes with other creatures in the Scorched Earth is because it’s a passive tame, which really takes the edge over the Morellatops. And it would be as fast as an equal considering modern day camels run up to 40 miles per hour. The Titanotylopus would excel in fiber and cactus harvesting, this would be really helpful at the beginning of the game. please vote for this idea to add the Titanotylopus to Ark Survival Ascended: Scorched Earth.- 8 replies
