Private Xbox Cluster. All over the place yesterday. Fixed a broken ini line that’s been bugging me for ages in the server start up log on Ragnarok. All because I was missing a single parentheses, so that was fun. Took my taming boat up to Jerboa island and logged out. Jumped over to The Center to stock up on element dust to transfer to each of my servers that have tek gens. Logged into Extinction briefly to fill up the gens, and went on a hunt to find a male element dust Gacha. Had no luck so jumped over to the The Island to fill tek gen. Hopped back over to Ragnarok and tamed a 140 Bulbdog on Jerboa island (I replaced that islands spawns with lantern pets). Took my taming boat back to bases and logged out, not before filling my tek gen. Hopped back over to The Center to continue hunting for that male element dust Gacha (I have them spawning under the snowy grass plains to simulate the sunken forest on Extinction). Tamed 10 Gachas, 6 males, 4 females but no element dust of either gender. Managed to get 3 organic poly makers and 2 red sap makes so may be useful on Aberration at some point. Logged off for several hours. Jumped on to Extinction with the intention to help @d1nk and @AngrySaltire with OSD’s so was out on my Gigas having some fun killing everything I saw. It went silent in chat so I logged off for the night - was too tired and could barely read the chat prior to that anyway.

No it was Extinction.

The forcefield burning through element in seconds is a bug. The same can happen to tek gens. Both have happened on my island server, but corrected itself once I destroyed them and placed down new ones though this was before structure pick up.

4x harvest, 5x player weight, and 4x dino weight (tamed, per level, and affinity respectively). Node health is actually 1x but I removed the health clamp on Ragnarok. Balance is key when tweaking settings, so if you change 1 thing, prepare to change something else ?

Aberration - Private Xbox Cluster Made a fresh start on this map. Chose the fertile lake but I’m now regretting this decision because metal seems to be a great distance away. Built a little 3x3 shack in between some metal features, and slowly converting it to wood. I’m surrounding by actual high level dinos which I’ve died to a few times such as Carno’s and Raptors but I’m not at the stage where I can tame them yet. I plan to build a taming raft in the lake so I can at least tame something here before I move on. Last session though I had to put the game down due to severe lag or that’s what I thought it was but it was actually a client to server synchronisation issue. I thought I was walking along side the lake but I was actually drowning a little ways out into the lake and killed by Mega Piranha.

You couldn’t have played this game very long. “Mysterious Mysteries ??????” isn’t a new concept and they have done the exact same thing when revealing all other previous DLC creatures before they released Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Extinction. The Raptor already exists in the game, why would they name a new type the exact same thing?

I think you’re the first person in a long time to mention a prequel of some sort. Extinction ends the story but no one said we can’t go backwards. I’d love a water map, a snow map, or a combination of both.

Has no one put 2 and 2 together yet? They’re repurposing low pop legacy servers and now they’ve just announced a potentially new dino. My suspicions are leaning heavily towards a new map and content ?

I’ll make a start on Aberration this week, and jump to Scorched in a couple weeks . You’ve just reminded me about a communal structure I need to build on Ab.

You’ll get there. Just be grateful the Therizinos aggro range was significantly nerfed a while back. They were like Raptors.

More admin related than actual gameplay but still... I finished work early today and came back to rotate our Island server over to Scorched Earth only to find that the previous saves were wiped . Loaded up Aberration and it was the same, everything gone. I figured this was due to our server moving hardware the day after our first planned Tek cave event 2 weeks earlier. As a host, nothing’s worse than knowing everyone’s hard work has been lost due to unforeseen circumstances out of your control. I only want the best for my community so a bit the bullet and bought 2 new permanent servers, on the maps which were previously on the rotation. We now have all maps on our cluster, yay. I plan to make a fresh start this weekend but I’m at odds on which map it will be; Scorched Earth or Aberration.

I think you’ll find the selfish long term legacy players who had no intentions of moving to the new official cluster are to blame for that too. They knew they needed to keep their legacy servers populated so purposefully withheld the information to noobs.

If you’ve been playing for 2 years, why did you continue playing on legacy when you could have just started fresh on the official cluster and only would have sacrificed a couple months?

I’m suspicious of this great migration. Wildcard have been rather quiet as of late and with E3 around the corner, Ced mentioning we should be expecting content in one form or the other, by going off previous legacy server repurposing that I’ve paid attention to there’s a possibility something might be coming to light ?

Hosted the Tek Cave event on alpha for my community before the server switches to Scorched Earth next month. Failed but still had a lot of fun. We pretty much determined our fate when a load of tames fell into the lava on the way through but the boss fight was hilarious for those of us on foot. Lasted quite a while until the dragon form munched me due to no more dinos drawing aggro. It will be months before The Island comes back into rotation but I’m sure we’ll be prepared to jump straight back into the action next time.

Haters gonna hate

Yep. I can now finally invest in a gaming PC. I wasn’t going to get Ark because I host a cluster on Xbox but because it’s PvE, if I do get Ark on PC it will be for PvP only and to experience mods.
