I dunno, Epic ARK isn't really a clickbait channel. I mean, it might be possible to fake this if you got into ARK's files (ARK is an online game and Extinction is an official map, though, right? Which is why I say might), but whether someone would actually have the nerve to fake it in the first place is a different matter. All his other 170 videos from the past 2 years are legit and focus on cinematics and mods rather than clickbait. And it's not like his channel is in any sort of decline that would have him fake this for publicity, either. As he said himself, it would be stupid of him to kill his reputation after 2 years of legit vids over a dumb clickbait. Even if the amount of people saying they've also seen these images is low (like two or more from what I've seen),  the fact that they're being  mentioned by other people at all should add at least a little credibility to the video's authenticity. The low amount of people saying they've seen them could also be because maybe it's on a specific platform, on a specific mode (one person said they got it to work in singleplayer if that helps), and/or under other requirements we haven't figured out yet. Or maybe it's just the fact that since the vids have so little views there's nobody really looking for them in the first place. I guess the only way you could really definitively prove or disprove the vids authenticity is if one of the guys on the dev team actually said "this is real" or "this is fake" (I wouldn't count Cedric's twitter post because he said something similar when Valguero was about to be released), or if someone somehow got into the game's files and found the images.

A vid showing a third image was just released. To me it looks like one of those images shows that debris surrounding the Aberration ARK, while the other seems to show more of those light patterns from the countdown.

To me this looks like either some sort of sentry turret with cameras or just a camera.

So Epic Ark was getting a lot of skepticism in the comments of this first video, from me and even from Cedric (https://twitter.com/ComplexMinded/status/1176200340066037760). So to prove it was legit, he made this second video containing "raw footage" of a new image:

Here's where things get interesting: there a couple of other people both in the comments of the vids and on twitter that have reported seeing the same images! (https://twitter.com/Supertotoo/status/1176227974632345600) This leads me to believe that these images are indeed real. That being said, here's my take on the two current images:

First video's image (0:17):

I want to point out that the face doesn't look like the default female character face, meaning it might be an explorer we may meet face-to-face on Genesis, but who? Helena, as we know, appears in the trailer as mostly translucent with no discernible facial features, ruling her out. Mei-Yin also has a scar over one eye that she got when battling Nerva, as she says in her early Aberration notes, ruling her out also. That just leaves Diana, though she's depicted in the explorer notes as having longer hair (maybe she cut it?). Or maybe it's a completely new character (The Visitor?), who knows. Also, is it just me, or is there - in the mist image, just under the face - what looks like a satellite dish array? Is that related to Arat Prime?

Second video's image (6:38):

Epic ARK said this looks like some trilobite-looking creature. The background in the image sort of looks like those blue light patterns from the Genesis countdown. My best guess is that this is some kind of sneak-peek at a Genesis creature. As for why Ced tried to deny this was real, I guess he was either trying to draw attention away from it (for some reason), or maybe it's someone in Wildcard that's teasing Genesis without permission (something kind of similar happened back in August when the Genesis season pass was released on the PlayStation store a day BEFORE Genesis was officially announced).

I just find it funny that of all the ways Wildcard could have further teased Genesis, like updating HLN-A with some new voice lines, they chose THIS.

Those last five lines seem to both 100% prove that Genesis revolves around a simulation, and also suggest that while Helena and The Visitor can go into or out of the simulation and move around in it, they don't actually control it or anything it creates. Hence, it creates stuff like that...thing...in the first teaser. To me it kind of looks like a cross between a seeker, the Manticore and the Desert Titan. All we know for sure is that it 100% can fly. Also, in case anyone's wondering, Cedric already said on twitter that a Scorched Earth ascension isn't gonna be a part of the update. What makes it worse is that he tried to excuse it by saying something like "spoilers they didn't even ascend in the story", and as "proof" quoted this single random line from one of Helena's SE notes that has absolutely NOTHING to do with an ascension, meanwhile I'm finding several other lines in the story that DO support the idea of an ascension. Part of the reason this all ticks me off is because Cedric treats the idea like it's "nonfunctional" and not worth the effort, even though in reality the ascensions are not only really cool to look at and give players this sense of accomplishment after all they've gone through, but without them you wouldn't know there are connections between the maps if you didn't read the story.

1. That note you referenced is NOT Helena's last SE note, that's her 29th out of 30.
2. That excerpt from the note has literally NOTHING to do with an ascension.
3. Ironically enough, Helena - in the same not you referenced, no less - does reference something related to an ascension - "The transporter that can take us back to the "control center" station is in the ruins of another city, south of the mountains. Wali believes that it was destroyed by the obelisks, just like the city in the southeast." She also references something related to ascension in her actual last SE note - "Having seen us through the ruins and safely to the platform, Wali has taken her leave."  Even Rockwell references it. In his last SE note, he says "I cannot wait to be rid of that glowering menace of a woman, this so called Wali al Aswad. I suspect the feeling is mutual. She has offered little in the way of farewells while seeing us to this ARK's entrance to the starlit sanctuary."   And no, the fact that they don't actually describe the ascension in SE doesn't prove Cedric's point either, since Rockwell does describe it in his first Aberration note - "I fear that even with the unwitting aid of Miss Walker, I still cannot completely control the machines in the starlit sanctuary. Likewise with Aberration. Without an ascension, SE just feels out of place, since all the other ARKs get an ascension, so why not SE?! Cedric, if a lot of the community is asking you to add a certain thing to the game, then there's probably a good reason for it, so don't just spout out random nonsense hoping it'll justify your claim. I was so caught up with the trailer and stuff I completely forgot about this until now.

According to the comments on this video, the yellow text reads "Unexpected PSN data detected", while the blue text reads "Reflection array online"(no word on the blue spinning text   : /). This seems to suggest that when the timer device primed, someone unexpectedly tried to send in another data packet through the communication line. I guess someone didn't want whatever was in this packet, hence why they brought the reflection array online to divert it. What was in the packet, who sent it, and who diverted it, I have no idea.

Another thing a want to bring up and just realized: On August 3rd I made a post in which I said I thought that in the "communication records", [LOG_TRANSMIT] and [LOG_RECEIVE] were what was appearing on person A/Helena's communication system, while the text by "gpg" was what was appearing on person B/The Visitor's communication system. However, looking back, specifically on this bit of dialogue:

...I now realize that [LOG_TRANSMIT] is more likely what Person A/Helena is sending through the communication network, [LOG_RECEIVE] is the messages she receives from Person B/The Visitor, and "gpg" is probably just what was automatically appearing on Person B/The Visitor's screen when Person A/Helena first made contact. Thought I just needed to correct myself there.

This is awesome that they're doing this with the QoL catalogue, it's a nice change from what they normally do! I kind of realized one of the things Wildcard was doing wrong - normally they just keep moving on from DLC to DLC to DLC, without really considering to go back and improve/rework the other maps and the mutiplayer, no matter how busted the community says they are. But now, I think this catalogue is a sign Wildcard will maybe start considering the community's suggestions on how to fix the game and make it better. Then, maybe after Genesis part 1 and 2, Wildcard will start doing stuff like this and improving the game a lot more often. Hopefully.

I see ARK is currently updating on my console, hopefully it includes some new lines from HLN-A.

By slowing down the footage at 0:42 in the trailer you can see that this strange device we've been seeing for the past week and a half is located in some kind of (untextured) open room filled with diagonal pillars and some white light. Given that the device is also shown at the title card at the end of the trailer, it's clear this device is going to play some major role in Genesis. HLN-A herself is, obviously, a fragment of Helena Walker, and if I had to guess, I'd say that the "fragmented" part was her "emotional" one, or rather, the parts that wouldn't exactly be necessary for the tasks of a Homo Deus. The rest of Helena, it seems, is going off to contact other survivors and tell them the same things she told us.

As for story, here's what I've pieced together: Helena has brought us to the weird device and given us HLN-A, telling us that we must go through a series of tests. With HLN-A at our side, we visit a variety of different survival simulations. It seems each region will be a different mission, and each mission will involve us surviving until we can defeat a boss or something like that. After that, we are taken to the next region via the device. At the very end of the trailer, you can see some tek structure at the top and bottom of the cave passage, suggesting we may also encounter rare tek structures. Speaking of tek and element, according to https://www.pcgamer.com/ark-genesis-season-pass-everything-we-know/ : "There's also a small shoulder pet nicknamed Tiny. It's adorable until it gets its hands on some Element, one of Ark's resources, which makes it completely hulk out and turn into a vicious, rampaging multi-limbed fangbeast. Seems like just the kind of pet you'd like in your arsenal." Element is the keyword here, as it suggests these Genesis simulation locations have not been purged of element for some reason. We also know it's "bad" element since the thing the Tiny eats not glows purple at 0:54 in the trailer, but the Tiny transforms it into a beast once eaten, similar to what presumably happened with the titans on Extinction. Another interesting thing to think about is that Arat Prime is opposite of Extinction, Extinction is under the 3 ARKs Helena has influenced, and Helena says that the Genesis map/maps is/are "beyond my reach". In other words, the evidence suggests to me that these simulations may be located within Arat Prime, a place that, due to it's location, Helena may not have been able to access and monitor directly, hence a reason she made HLN-A. The simulations being in Arat Prime would explain why the simulations and device exist AT ALL, as they may have been used in the past as prototype ARKs. It could also explain why we saw little bits of tek a the end of the trailer.

As for the point of all this testing, it seems that Helena is training us for something, something she refers to in the trailer as "The arrival". I think it's pretty likely that what's "arriving" is Rockwell and the evils of the crashed Aberration ARK, which could be re-intoxicating the planet. If this theory about "The arrival" is true - and it does seem to be - then that would confirm that Genesis is a sequel to Extinction and not a prequel to it as some have suggested. But maybe, as one of the devs on the stream said, Genesis could begin in a way that doesn't pick up right where Extinction left off, but at a point where the influence of the crashed Aberration has begun to negatively effect the planet, weeks/months after Extinction's end. To recap, it seems that Helena is sending us and HLN-A to a series of survival simulations within Arat Prime in order to train us to fight Rockwell and Aberration. Part one could be the training, and part two could be the actual fight against Aberration.

We also have yet to meet this "new character" that Helena was talking to in the Communication Records, maybe he/she will play a part in Genesis's story?

Person A/Helena has somehow not only survived Extinction, but has come across a pre-existing human facility, as well as somehow acquired not only an ID fingerprint - serial #724EA9458ED40FBF - , but an RSA key (with the same serial #). She uses the ID fingerprint to gain access to the facility's computer, which was previously being run by an AI known as the "Host system", which she promptly "turned off". She then manages to establish an encrypted satellite uplink connection to Arat Prime (or fixed AP's connection if AP is the facility with the timer), but in order to do so must put in an ID fingerprint and encrypted signature. She complies, using the same fingerprint ID she used before, but using HER OWN signature, which she encrypts using the RSA key (presumably not her own, as we'll see in a moment). The system accepts the ID and signature without question, and the computer links her to another user in a different facility, Person B ("gpg"). Who he/she is is unclear. However, the fact that he/she says "I found a few behavior sub-routines in some sort of genetic archive I was able to access" may indicate that he/she is unfamiliar with the computer system, and therefore is not from the "future human" time. Could it be Mei-Yin or Diana?

Person B gets a warning from his/her communication device that the signature given (Helena's) and the signature of the person who originally owned the ID fingerprint are not the same, and hence might be someone impersonating the fingerprint's original owner. Person B seemingly ignores this, and continues to communicate with Person A/Helena. He/she proceeds to tell her "Your cognitive profile seems limited to specimen guardianship, you're a glorified patient monitor", and that to access other computer functions her computer would not allow her to, she must "learn new tricks", and must get some changes to her (seemingly genetic) programming (that possibly could free her from her "survivor monitoring" state?). He/she begins sending her the programming changes in the form of an encrypted datastream (seen in the timer as the white beam), as well as grants her "Command Elevation" (still not quite sure what that is, maybe it's he name of the changes being done to Person A/Helena's programming?) Meanwhile, Person A/Helena passes the time by doing a check-up on her computer and updating some of the old protocols. Eventually she begins getting her programming, or "Specimen Guardian Subsystem" changed, which could explain why the timer was red, depending on the "safety" of the programming changes or the procedure to integrate them (or maybe there was a different reason?). Speaking of integrating, I think the text in the "Genetic archive" is Person B showing Person A/Helena the programming changes and telling her how to integrate them. This latest/last stage of the timer could be after Person A/Helena has integrated the programming changes. It seems after doing so, she has become focused on this "Cooperative simulation", and has even opened what appears to be a "viewing window" into these simulations. Each image/location seems to have a specific theme - biotoxic, ice, fire, and water. Could these "cooperative simulations" be the ARKs? Each ARK was simulating a different environment, after all, and the people on them were "cooperating". Also, what's with that "Resolution schema" from the timer's 5th phase? What's with the ARK logo-looking thing to the left of it?

Again, I could be completely wrong about all of this.

I think those weird images of different lands prove that this is some sort of portal or ARK viewing device. Also notice how the different locations shown are green, blue, and red, the same colors flashing around the timer as well as the colors of the obelisks. The emblems flashing around look like a skull and crossbones, a snowflake, and then what looks like a flame or some corruption and then a candle. Do these emblems have to do with the titans, the bosses, the ARKs, or what? Also, the newest edition of the community crunch is called "The Visitor"   :0

Just came up with this: if what I said earlier about Helena probably being the "Specimen Guardian" mentioned in this video update were right, would that mean she's ALSO the "Specimen" referred to in the last video update ("Specimen Viability: 52%")? OWW does mention being weak in her 10th Extinction note, hence, if I were right about her being the "specimen", the reason her viability, or ability to do work, would be at 52%

The rotating text around the beam is very tricky, when it pans into view and is easy to make out as it isn't shimmering, it has only three lines of text and it reads

When it pans infront of the beam or the timer, making it illedgible, it's been deciphered based on common symbols, that it also reads

As it matches the length, and starting symbols of that very message, however the resolution, even at max resolution with the data beam and timer makes it impossible to tell, there is no good angle to view the rotating 4 text lines.

Given that the text rotating around the beam is mirror-inverted at it's clearest point ("D" symbol is an indicator), you would actually have to read the translated words in the reverse order if you wanted to get the original/correct phrase, making it "Specimen Guardian Subsystem", not "Subsystem Guardian Specimen"

I have 2 different guesses as to what's going on here:

1. Helena or person B has finished doing a checkup of the system Helena was using, and is now updating some of the old procedures that haven't been changed since before Earth's abandonment. Meanwhile, Helena is getting her "programming" changed, or the subsystem of Helena, a specimen guardian ( Hence the reason that piece of text is circling the beam, the thing that contains the update to Helena's programming). As for why everything is red, maybe the update for Helena is "dangerous", or the system detected something dangerous, Helena has to leave as she and the facility have detected something dangerous, or...

2. Someone/something has taken control of the timer facility's computer and booted out Helena from controlling it (is that what "change authorization" means? The code to the right of that line is the same one I proposed Helena was using). Then he/she/it began updating the old procedures to suit his/her/its own needs. The computer system recognizes this as a threat, hence the reason everything is red.

There are a few other things I want to point out: As I just mentioned, there's that code - 724EA9458ED40FBF - that is also used with the ID fingerprint and RSA key (it's mentioned in the communication logs), and that I previously said might have been found/stolen by Helena and then used by her to gain access to her facility's communication system. There's also more mention of a "Host system", something that also appeared in the communication records. I believe it was some sort of AI that was controlling the system in Helena's facility before Helena actually gained access to the system. When she did, she "turned off" the AI until now, when it has been given a new directive. I'm not entirely sure what "Resolution Schema" is, only that schema means "a representation of a plan or theory in the form of an outline or model". Does "Resolution" refer to some sort of machine/craft? Also, in the timer there's a symbol next to the "resolution schema" phrase that looks exactly like the ARK logo if you look at it the right way. Some other identifiable holograms include what appears to be a specimen implant/homo deus gem above the just mentioned ARK logo, as well as what looks like another diagram of the device the beam is going into just above the implant hologram.
