if there is a lack of demand it is not the fault of these methods, but of how they have been treated in the past. this is my personal experience with ark, for the first year and a half I played single player then I wanted to try pvp, I spent 3 months in pvp but constantly losing my base while I wasn't online made me stop playing it and I i moved on, so i played pve for a short while because it felt the same as single player, then i accidentally discovered an orp server in the pvp server list and had a blast and stayed there until it closed. the point is that I discovered that ORP existed after 5 months of playing purely online, but I discovered the official HARDCORD thanks to this forum, the problem is obvious, I can't want to play a game or a mode if I don't  know that it exists, if I had known that the official ORP existed I would have played it as soon as I bought the game, not after going through single player, normal pvp and pve . And if it's true that it's just my experience, it's also true that my tribemates did the same, through this forum I've seen more people discover the existence of ORP only after the closure of ARK and I imagine it goes for HARDCORE too (I'm a prove my self of that). If they were to add these modes in the future, I would suggest separating ORP AND HARDCORD pvp from regular pvp so that when a person uses the filter to search for the type of server they want they are asked if they want to search for PVE , PVP , PVP ORP or HARDCORD PVP in order to give these modes their own space and not disperse their few servers among the hundreds of normal pvp servers , effectively making them invisible.

My friends and I played on PS4 and we didn't know about the existence of this forum before the closure of the old Ark, I'm the only one in my group who continued playing the others left the game leaving me alone before I discovered the ORP, who knows how many times it happened that a player abandoned the game before finding his place in HARDCORE or ORP? I think the biggest problem with hardcore and the orp is that they have been little known by the community

I hope I wrote correctly and that you understand what I mean and sorry if I wrote a very long message

I think we are talking to an answering machine that got only one answer programmed LOL

Theres more than a good demand. Especially for the amount of servers we are asking for. 1 cluster of each map for HC and 1 cluster of each map for ORP.

And im totally agree that these servers should be more visible.
People were not educated on the full spectrum of presented server mods. Many were hopping on hardcore and kept asking what does hardcore means, and the ones in game were explaining everything. A lot of people were finding HC by mistake and ended up staying there for months and even years. But what if those modes would have been more noticeable, more spoken about, so players don't have to find it out themselves in a list of thousand servers?

As of Hardcore servers - a lot of people want it hard, want to play a SURVIVAL game, when regular pvp (not even talking about pve) has nothing to do with survival anymore besides the word in game's name.
Look around - a lot of people out there want hard games. Not everyone is a flower who is afraid of a light breath of wind. A lot of games out there are listening and actually hear players. Even Rust (which is doing a lot better than Ark) gave hardcore mode to players 2 years ago because people wanted it.

Giving those people, who are willing to play hard game, a place in your game worth a lot. Especially when it doesn't cost you anything special. 1 check box is server settings. 13 servers per cluster in total. Make them visible, and watch the result.

I could go deep into marketing now and bring to light a lot to prove that demand is high, but i won't as im afraid no1 of people in power pays attention to this post and it will be a hard work made for nothing. But if some1 is watching:

Just make a single poll in Ark discord with a question if people want to play Hardcore mode with full explanation what that mode is about. Without negative answer option, because the point is to see how many people would actually be interested, and you will get surprised.

And making a statement that theres not enough demand without analyzing the situation even a bit is unprofessional. But it would be right to bring 2 of the most upvoted topics in the section to the attention of supervisors.

I would assume the same applies to hardcore. If there was the demand, they would have the servers.

But the thing is - there is a demand. And our topics existence is a straight number 1 proof of that.

Those servers (im talking about HC, don't know much about ORP, but i guess its pretty much the same) would have way more than 5-7 players per map as what we see now on regular pvp servers. Right now, Friday early evening in europe, and thats what i see in lobby all over:

You can go and see it yourself

Even on the worst days of ASE there were more people playing on HC than now on regular pvp on ASA.

And most of those people are still waiting for servers to play the game.

There are A LOT of people with a life that can't be online 24/7 pvping. And both HC and ORP servers are the way for us to play depending on personal choices between those 2 mods.

There are 40+ votes on each mod requests. Most than in any other suggestion topics. And i guess everyone understands that only minority is actually coming to vote. Plus, i know for the fact, that many of my people are not doing so because they never had a need for the forum account before and creating accounts now just for the vote here might look sus, so they are just afraid of doing so to not have a chance to jeopardize the effort of others.
Still, we never got any official response to any of suggestions (discord talks don't really count as a response to forum suggestion)

There are way too many dead servers on the most popular mod, and none of what others asks for since day 1 of ASA.
We do not ask for much, we don't need dozens of servers. A cluster with 1 of each map is enough. Those server will 100% be more populated than most of regular pvp servers.
Just close some of empty servers (which was a common practice on ASE) and use those server machines for servers where people will actually play.

    The game will only win.
People will see that devs care of the most loyal community that was with them from the very start till the end of ASE, and devs will get customers + their support, including material, as a lot of those people waiting haven't even bought the game yet, not even talking about DLC.

yall never wouldve survived Legacy, sounds like everyone needs to go unofficial. Official is supposed to be more of a grind

A lot of people did actually. Seen that, done that, had enough of it.

This game doesn't seem to get much of a fresh blood lately. And most of people ive met in this game is average at 35+ now
Yes, 7-8 years ago it was fun taming a rex with 0.25 rates from what they are now, taking 8 hours to do it with regular/prime meat. (Yeah, if you've been playing on Legacy, you should remember, that rates has doubled twice since then already according to players needs, and theres no reason it shouldn't happen again eventually)

Now, years later, i got a lot more stuff to do in my life than staring at the baby dino for hours. No way im breeding on current x1. Finishing raising what ive started and fully imprinted  during an evo - sure. But starting with a baby stage - no way. Unless they will introduce a maewing earlier.

And if you will compare servers online counter during week days and weekends, you will see that there are majority of people thinking the same way

Like it or not, times change, people change, and games has to adapt. And they will eventually, if creators wants their games to keep being sold.

And following is not addressed to the person i have quoted

In my opinion the best way - rates to be increased to x2 on a regular basis. No Evo weekends. Events x1.5 (what would be x3 from now) OR give us maewing

And i hope devs and dollie will stop playing servers "needing to rest from rates" card. I have never heard of such nonsense after 10 years of working in gaming industry myself lol
Get a decent server machines, optimize your servers and nothing will need to "rest" from anything lol. If you can't do it with people you got, hire more people, who will work for you and will make your game better. Oh wait... you are not even replying to people who are applying to job positions you have listed i've heard 😂

  5. Dear @StudioWildcard @Dollie @Cedric!
The game is losing tons of players lately. But in here you have a pretty decent group of people who wants to play your game on official hardcore servers (far not everyone is bothering creating forum account to vote and had none prior due to no support on ASE hardcore servers, so there was no need for it really before)
But thats one of hardcore discord communities (PC only, there are a lot more console players), and only few of us have voted in this topic:
    image.png.daab1a27bf6014d89b228d90d1abd603.png

And still this topic is the most voted of all ASA suggestions

Our community was never toxic and hating on devs, quite opposite actually, we have been supporting you even through all legacy servers closures, no official support for us, ASE closure etc.

So once again we are asking you to open for us hardcore servers, so we can enjoy the game once more while supporting your team and your game.
We are not asking for tons of servers, 1-2 of each map in a cluster would be enough. And i really can not see a single point on turning us down on that state of the game.

    Cheers

  6. The biggest problem i see now is breeding rates.
We have spent years to make perfect lines on ASE. You took it from us and now make us go through all of it again. It just shouldn't be that same slow this time.
Most of people playing this game are grownups with jobs and families and no surprise most don't have same time to spend in game as 8 years ago.
Harvesting is now fine as it is in my opinion tho (well, except for berries, but it's being solved with tons of crop plots and couple beetles)
Give us 1.5 on breeding on a constant basis at least.

Contributing to the HC server request.

Now... a discussion about a separate HC ruleset...

    1. Its too easy (and shamefully cowardly) of me on an argy and be able to just sneak up to a player and pick him up and its game over. (Yes its game over)

I don't want to be that coward, and I don't want to play with other cowards.

    2. A no tribes server (I am open to being convinced that tribed HC does not get exploited (grinders etc), but it will be difficult)

    3. A time limited per day server (say 3-4 hours per 24, therefore the competition is about merit, instead of which spoilt kid gets the most free stuff from his rich parents.)

You should leave a vote if you want to contribute :)
Its an arrow right next to the title

  8. And when Ark 2 will come, you will close ASA servers too to free the space for Ark 2? 🤣
If all of that is not a joke, just trash ASA idea and keep what we already have.
Or you really think that many players would trade all they got through all these years in ASE for new graphics in ASA?
I will prolly not tell a big secret, but majority of people are playing with modified files and they will not notice the difference.
And if you need money so badly to keep working on Ark2, ask Diesel, or come to people and just say so, so some might donate or pre-purchase Ark 2 right away without all that bull****.
