  1. The person you replied to was talking about the flyer nerf. You were talking about manas. Completely different things. The flyer nerf increased the challenges of PvE making land dinos useful for transport and travel. Instead of get flyer = easy mode = win. The mana nerf is a completely different topic. I don't think any major nerf should be enacted without settings (not requiring mods) to revert them. Also, PvE shouldn't be effected by PvP only nerfs. But this would mean creating one or more setting(s) to make PvP and PvE different.
  2. The mana is a post flyer nerf (removed speed leveling) creature. This whole post is about separating PvE and PvP nerfs/balancing. Make them each robust independent game modes.
  3. The problem with continually added more and more to a huge game is that eventually it will not fit on devices with hardware upgrades. They need to go back and optimize for size.
  4. I have used the devkit. The devs already have entries for species damage and resistance. They would just need to extend this to other stats.
  5. I agree. Wiping before fixing the underlying problems will not solve anything in the long term.
  6. Got an example. Because all the nerfs i know about were due to PvP reasons.
  7. It would be easy (just a bit of time) if WC added settings for all stats for each species of creatures and maybe settings for special abilities. Make it customizable for unofficial servers. Then it would be a set of settings for PvP and a different set for PvE.
  8. I didn't buy Atlas. Just watched the forums for a bit. I really want Ark to improve. But you cannot please everyone. So many different ways to play Ark.
  9. It its anything like the Atlas suggestions subforum, it will be a mess. Its mostly a anti-popularity contest. The haters will come out in force.
  10. This is known information. Your save character file is gone. The sleeping body on the map is part of the map save and not your actual character.
  11. We don't know WC decision or if they have made a decision. Which is why I showing support for S+ (plat+ etc) going open source. This would be a huge benefit to the modding community. Tons of unofficial servers and single player games depend on the S+ mod. It's the most subscribed mod in the workshop.
  12. I did read Orionsun's post. Which is exactly why I said WC should allow his mod(s) to go open source or at least be handed off to a responsible mod author(s) to be maintained. But those are WC's decisions not Orionsun's and we have no information. With abandoned mods, it always possible a game update will break some part of the mod.
  13. With no mod updates it's still possible a game update will break the mod. S+ is one of the reasons Ark was so successful. WC could allow s+ and plat+ and platforms anywhere to go open source or at least be handed off to a few mod authors to maintain.
  14. I imagine of s+ gets pulled from the workshop the game population will plummet. Or if/when WC releases an update that breaks the mod version of s+, same thing. The utility guns are awesome. The automated systems are awesome (they require fuels). The pull system is awesome. The better tek is awesome. Hitching post is awesome. All of this on top of the building improvements and ini customization, is simply amazing.
  15. You mean with the release of Extinction and the end of Ark? When do you think Snail will add the cash shop?
  16. Wouldn't surprise me of all the current official servers are demoted to legacy with timed shutdown. And new servers were opened under Snails umbrella.
  17. I am hoping for green color next as the event. Except the current reds with greens when bred would be a bit too Christmas-y for my tastes.
  18. Modded and custom gameplay can make the game really fun. But I wouldn't reinstall for vanilla gameplay.
