  1. The price reduction is, better, but still not the "free upgrade" we were promised. So question, will we be able to transfer existing game saves from ASE to ASA? The boys and I have been doing a lot on our private server and don't really want to start over.
  2. Still ignoring the Mammoth in the room hoping it'll go away, eh Wildcard? Still not paying $60 for something that was originally advertised as free, no matter how pretty you make it look. Especially since it isn't launching with all the maps anyway, my buddies and I play on Rag, Gen 2 and Fjordur. Where's the Rhyniognatha? We're halfway through May and still haven't seen anything more than a dossier. You're REALLY giving the guys on official (ultimately this doesn't affect me because I play on a private server cluster), very little time to play with your new creature before they're forced to abandon ship.
  3. Fasolasuchus looks REALLY cool, too bad I won't be touching ASA until y'all actually address the absurd price tag.
  4. Very nice concepts I do genuinely like them. Still not paying $60 for ASA.
  5. So I have a few things to say. 1. While I don't play on official servers I think it's garbage to give the middle finger to everyone who does. 2. You PROMISED A FREE UPGRADE. I'd bet money that half this backlash over the price tag would not exist if you hadn't originally told us it was going to be free. YOU LIED. END OF DISCUSSION. FULL STOP. Most of us could accept delays, could accept bugs, but this outright attempt at one of the lowest most anti-consumer things is unacceptable. 3. Even if we ignore the lies, $60 is far too much. I literally JUST bought several of my friends copies of Ark AND the DLCs so they could join me in this wackadoo dino game you made. A game I've put a couple of thousand hours into. I'm not paying $60 for all of that AGAIN so quickly. Especially when literally all the maps we play on won't even be in it at launch. 4. Mods, my group plays on unofficial with a pile of mods on the server and we have no idea which ones will or won't make the jump to ASA and how long that will take. We like our mods as they are. 5. No option to transfer saves? Will we not be able to just port our save games up to ASA? I don't want to rebuild all my bases and start all my breeding projects over from scratch, even with the unofficial boosted rates we play on. 6. Rhynio looks cool. 7. Your "new bundle" is EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE PER CONTENT. Old bundle: $50 for ASA and Ark 2 plus $20 for each DLC pass, total of $90. New bundle: $60 for ASA with all the DLCs and either $30 or $60 for Ark 2 separately, so either $90 or $120 depending on what Ark 2 retails for. So it's EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE IN TERMS OF DOLLAR TO GAME CONTENT RATIO. Clever but not clever enough and frankly incredibly scummy. 8. I'm willing to give y'all the benefit of the doubt and assume this mess is the doing of Snail Games and not you. HOWEVER, y'all need to stand up to them. Ark is literally their only successful IP, the rest of their game portfolio is a pile of utter flops nobody cares about. YOU are the makers of that IP, YOU hold the golden goose, so YOU have the power to dictate things to them, because without you they have no income. Put the foot down for your players. Ark made hundreds of millions of dollars for them so it's clear they either pissed it away on failed projects or just pocketed it. Stand up for your player base, Snail literally cannot make money without you so THEY have to bend to YOUR demands, not the other way around.
  6. my private Nitrado server has been having continual issues with disconnects and crashes since the Love Evolved patch as well, seems they broke something bad this time if even private servers are struggling
  7. It looks like it would walk in a similar fashion to the aliens in chicken little (their robots not the actual fuzzy dudes inside), the limbs bending around and grasping as it walks rather than a precise gait
  8. Clearly a huge reason why people are opposed to a server wipe to level the playing field is how much time and effort they have to invest to make progress in this game and they don't want it erased, which is a fair point, it takes a long time to progress in Ark on default settings. Now let's compare Ark PvP to a similar game, like Rust. Rust's servers get wiped either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on the server, so no one is the "Alpha" forever and there are regular opportunities for everyone to start on a level playing field and see how far they can get before server reset, now Rust doesn't have all the taming and breeding and farming mechanics that Ark has, which take a long time to progress in. Now Ark, without server wipes, DOES have an issue with long-time players having an advantage over newbies, this is of course aside from general experience and skill level, they have all this fancy gear and tames they have been grinding for for literal months or years. Now as much as us veterans (I have nearly 1000 hours in this game on Steam) like to say, the noobs need to "git gud" or go through the same grind we did, what ultimately keeps games alive is an influx of new players, so if the new player experience is bad then less new people come in, which is bad for the game's longevity. Now I would suggest, if Wildcard were to start doing regular server resets, that they HEAVILY reduce the amount of time it takes to tame and breed dinos. I used to play on Official PvP but have since stopped in favor of singleplayer and small private servers with a few friends, because on default settings it frankly takes way too long to progress, and a good chunk of that time is spent just waiting for taming bars to reach 100%, and you have to have people on every single day without fail to maintain the base and reload the turrets and feed all the dinos and keeo watch for raiders so some jackass doean't level your months of work, and established tribes almost never want to do the actual fun part of PvP, PLAYINF PVP, as they don't want to lose their huge time sink of dinos and base building. I play on 50x tame speed in singleplayer so after the time it takes me to gather the resources for a tame and knock the thing out I only have at most a few minutes wait time for it to tame, whereas on official, to tame a Giga for example, even with kibble, takes over an hour of standing there just staring at what is essentially a loading bar. If they make taming and breeding much faster, then we can have regular server wipes and not worry so much about losing all your progress as you can reach that point again, with a dedicated tribe, in a couple of weeks rather than months or a year+.
  9. I think a good compariaon to make would be Ark PvP to Rust. Rust, depending on which server you pick, wipes the servers either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, so when you go into a PvP server you know full well that after a set amount of time everything will be gone anyway, so you focus on the most fun part of PvP, THE PVP. The issue official Ark PvP has is that it takes bloody long to accomplish things that people are afraid of losing their progress, so if wildcard were to start wiping the official servers regularly they would also have to hugely reduce the amount of time necessary to tame stuff I have nearly 1000 hours on this game so I'm no newbie, and a large chunk of that time was spent on Official PvP. My experience there was one of several large tribes all set up in their own territory not wanting to get into fighrs with each other for fear of losing all their work. Unless a griefer tribe shows up on the server or someone does something stupid and pisses off another tribe things were fairly quiet, and frankly got boring as most of my time was spent grindinf resources to feed all our dinos and keep the turrets loaded. The most fun I had on Official PvP was during a tribe war, when, y'know, I ACTUALLY GOT TO PVP, but again, a lot of established tribes seem to be averse to fighting too much, again, because of how much they have invested in their stuff they don't want to see it all wiped out. If the PvP servers had faster tame times and got wiped regularly I'd certainly play PvP again.
  10. Yeah I drowned one and the other presumably despawned since I never saw it again. Ran a destroywilddinos command to reset all the wild creature spawns and still nothing. I'm on PC btw so I guess this is a broader issue with the game itself and not a fluke of my world save. Prob has something to do with other spawns also being broken (Wyverns, Large Deep Sea Creatures). After I wiped all the wild animals new Wyverns spawned in the trenches but before I did that the trench had been mysteriously devoid of Wyverns for a good minute.
  11. Singleplayer Valguero. 50x tame speed 2x resources and 8x XP since I only have so much time. Been taming Rexes left and right to try to get a good breeding pool started for colors and stats, got an Event one over the summer and he stands proudly at the head of the pack with his 'murica hat upon his head. Been hunting Gigas but I think my save may be bugged as none after the first 2 I saw after starting the map seem to have spawned. Can't seem to get good level Wyvern eggs despite the existence of high level Wyverns within the trench, have sacrificed a lot of Pteranodons for ultimately garbage eggs. Will keep trying though.
