  1. That error is often spurious - it (can be) a corrupt game file that just ain't calling the dx dll libraries correctly. Sure it does point to a bad graphics "thing" but where is that "bad thing". The error dumps in ark, without having the source code to definitively see what the issue is, are often a bit misleading .... ShooterGame.exe!TerminateOnDeviceRemoved() Is not possible - no body is gonna "unplug" a graphics card whilst the machine is on. So either there is a serious hardware error on OP's graphics card - or the software is bust ......... And that means fixing the software!
  2. /consolewartrollmode = on Dudes get a real gaming platform - like a 6 year old i5 intel PC LOL /consolewartrollmode = off Seriously your lot (especially the "negative render" and the "0.04 m render") sounds a lot like what all official PC server players dub as "rubber banding". Which is when the server tries to catch up with all the stuff the client (you) has done - and then figures it can't do it, and jumps you back in time .... And that's server issue - not your game client platform. I have had trees that are supposed to be all leafy and beautiful that render as a bunch o
  3. In order of likelihood of success 1) (if on steam) Validate your game files (If you ain't on steam - you are on your own) 2) Update your graphics drivers 3) Change the shootergame "launch" option to include -D3D10 (its an old thing - but still works and can maybe fix graphics issues)
  4. They "imported" it from a different server - directly from an Obi or in a cryopod
  5. @Pipinghot Damn - how long did that lot take to compose. Very cogently and coherently put! Shot!
  6. Sorry dude - PC stuff is bad - but not that bad!
  7. Note further that even if you get ALL your ducks in a row - any recent version (like in the last 2 years) will NOT be available as a "server" - you will be restricted to single player only. So anything from (roughly) extinction release on wards is a no go.
  8. Officially (on Steam) It is not possible. And any way (on steam) as soon as you boot the steam interface it will "update". There are tricks and things with various steam emulators (mostly from some fairly dodgy russian sites) that will get around that - but to FIND the old version to download and run is a challenge. If you on the steam version I have kept some "snapshots" of the install over time - and may be able to help you with a historical version (depending on what you looking for - my stuff is very erratic, and by no means exhaustive). But I ain't gonna give "tips" on getting around
  9. I remember a long while ago now - I was on official Small Tribes with a dodgy 2 x 2 base on Rag somewhere in the desert. I was like lvl 30 or so (before petra saddle anyway) but I had a flock of DiMorphs set on neutral around my little base to catch the snakes and mantis & etc. And some dude on a Rock Drake (on Rag ????) landed. And the landing provoked my flock. And the dude and his damn drake was history in like 20 secs. And the further trouble is (from chat) he just wanted to say hello! But anyway he came back w mates - and I found new server LOL
  10. Never mind PVP they are brilliant in most caves ..... I started before the cryo trick of getting big dino's past the choke points of entry in a lot of the caves - and have not altered my strategy. A flock of high level dimorphs DESTROY stuff!!!!
  11. Sure - I don't dispute that at all!!!! My point is that this lot is easily available with a simple web search - but OP chose to post a question here. So maybe he doesn't want to watch 20 mins (or whatever) of game play. Or maybe he don't want to get all the "pro" tips that come in such a stream of game play. He posted a simple(ish) question. Which deserves a simple(ish) answer. And anyway - I did post a caveat of prior beer on the comment
  12. Yeah well - its dimorphs - so no really important, just a pet project. I'm doing OK w mute's on other creatures. But THANKS!
  13. Yeah v v weird ... As in this (or another - I don't remember) post I have gone on OK w Rex's & Tek Rex's and even (a long time ago) Ptera's. Same server / same server settings ... I at one moment got to the point of starting to go at Vultures - but the work and the "catch" of those little %^&%$ not responding to "Attack this Target" dissuaded me. Never mind - I will at a moment go gather up that whole damn bunch of "flocks" and breed the whole damn lot at once to see the results. I guess I may have some dodgy hidden "Don't mute Dimorps" setting in my ini's somewhere - but I seriously
  14. All the quoted numbers are on dedicated (private) servers. I didn't bother to go look at single player. I run the servers vanilla (no mods) with (as near as I can get) official Small Tribes settings. I may have cranked the XP / harvest rates up to 3 x (don't remember now) but the rest is vanilla!
  15. I have had a lot of luck with both Tek and normal rex's on Valgeiro. From the green Obi up left (or North West) to the top of the sea, and then in an arc going down the edge of the sea. There is one deep quarry around the middle of the map just off the coast of the sea that invariably has a bunch of Rex's. And again around some the lakes to the top right of the top of the ocean. Kinda like the spawn map on the wikkie
  16. Yeah I took effort to go back to a whole bunch of "dormant" maps to see. On the island I have a group of 23 females. On Scorched a (small) pool of 12 females, on Valgureo into the 30's, on Rag (two different incarnations of the map) 9 and 17. And these things show (on average) 10 to 15 generations in the parents history. But not one mute .... Really bad random number turn out I guess. Do you suppose this make a difference - My understanding is that the dice roll happens with each egg that is popped. So whether 40 eggs pop over the space of 6 hours (or 6 days for that m
  17. So over time I have probably bred more Dimorphs than any other thing. I do have tek rexe's with 19 x1 7 (male x female) mutations! But i have NEVER got a mutation on a dimorph baby (on any stat) . Am I just looking wrong, or is the rate a lot lower, or does this just not happen. or have I missed a boat somewhere?
  18. Dimetrodon (as OP said) or Dimorphodons or Deinonychus??? Dimorphs I have bred LOTS (like over 500) and never once got any mutation ... maternal or paternal! But mutated or no - Dimorphrodons are the real business in a cave!!!!
  19. @Milanio Some left field strategy: This game is a survival game - but you CANNOT be permanently killed! So (I assume you have a bed to re-spawn at - if not no worries - just use random re-spawn points). Spawn in. If its your "base" put all of your stuff in a box. Wander round. Look at (and remember) how the dino's around you react to you. When they agro on you - run - but (probably) you gonna die - so re-spawn. same place or different place - it don't matter, it will teach you about what is OK and what will try and eat your face off. When you get to re-spawn, don't go back t
  20. OP posted a legitimate and fair question: To refer him to some utube booolsheet is not an answer. Sure maybe he can learn stuff there, but maybe he wants to just play the game without prior knowledge of all the tips and tricks and things and things that are known in the community. And get a real Play Time answer to his question.................. Sorry I took a beer and this answer rubbed me up the wrong way.
  21. Did you come right here - Cause funny enough I am getting the same or similar error after the last big update ..... 22. Watch it for a bit (from a distance). If it stumbles around different Dinos and leaves them alone - it may be OK. If it goes aggressive on those different Dinos - then its gonna eat you. Not 100%, because a mixed bunch of carnivorous dinos can walk around together without going aggressive.
