  1. Dino Balance: If a creature servers no purpose/is easily superseded by other creatures then it shouldn't be in the game. ARK 1 has about 50 creatures that are worthless. For example how it it that a T-Rex is effectively easier to tame them Dimetrodon/Gallimus? Both the later also serve no use. Air cons are superior to Dimetrodons, Gallimuses are massively superseded by flyers.
  2. Exactly and it's not even a case of players that are losing wanting a wipe. I don't know about you but my group is quite wealthy atm from all our activities and yet we still feel a wipe would be fun and liven up the game. I also think though they need to not just wipe the servers but reduce the amount. Having an average of only 10 players per server is not fun or interesting for gameplay.
  3. As we all know the player numbers in this game are not what they used to be and yet the amount of Official servers has remained fairly static. The result is a 100 servers where the average player count per server is 10 or less which isn't great for gameplay and leaves the servers feeling kind of dead. As we know all know nothing lasts forever. I think its time all Official PVP servers (non small tribes/ORP) were wiped and then the total numbers of servers halved or even quartered. By doing this you would force players together just like when the game was released and the servers were maxed out every night. Servers with 70/70 players are much more fun then servers with 10 players on them all from the same tribe. This would create a breeding ground for violence and increased competition amongst players and tribes the likes of which we have not seen since 2016.
  4. I'd support a wipe. It would make things interesting and fresh.
  5. I have to say well done Wildcard on this new imitative, while I was disappointed with the new PVE focused DLC this partly makes up for it. For me the first year or so of ARK was the best ARK experience. The game back then felt more balanced and was generally more fun then it is today. Back then there wasn't all these giant unbalanced dinos that acted as instant win buttons. Most of the dinos were fairly small and they also didn't have the insane hitpoints they now do which meant players on foot had a reasonable chance of killing a tamed dino in a reasonable amount of time in combat. I haven't seen the details for this new mode but I hope there is no Giga, Quetzal, Titan, Griffin, Wyvern, Snow Owl or any other monstrosity available to tame and I sincerely hope player movement speed has been hard capped. Extra bonuses that would benefit PVP would be the removal of the whip's ability to disarm and removal of player bolas.
  6. With regards to this 25man conquest mode, the whole thing is pointless since its not illegal to form unofficial alliances. The end result is just going to be 100 man servers consisting one big alliance. It's in the best interests of the 4 tribes on that server to ally up and that is exactly what will happen. It's just going to be server vs server.
  7. No one thinks they own anything. Its called propaganda. It will be just some TEA/DSG members trying to big note/promote themselves. Just ignore it.
  8. Oceania servers are well overdue. There is no legitimate excuse for WC not to create some. I know in the past they have talked about lacking spare hardware but if you go into the server browser and look at the current OC PVP servers most of them rarely reach 10 players at peak time. I think it would not be unreasonable to at least reconfigure one of these dead servers to a Small Tribe setting.
  9. A lot of these new rules would make many an unofficial player envious for their unenforceable, undefinable and ambiguous nature. I am used to seeing unofficial servers with gems like "No excessive damage when raiding" and the ever generic "No griefing" but I never thought Wild Card would try and give them a run for their money. In all honesty unless you put in hard coded solutions to enforce these rules or employ a group of admins to actively enforce them, then these rules are little more then false reassurances that don't solve anything.
  10. I was about to post this and then I saw your post. Points 2 and 3 could work fine but no 1 will create a problem with vaults and storage boxes as they default to unlocked with a pin code. Outside of those 3 points though I fail to see how they can enforce their rules unless they are suddenly going to have active admins on servers which is the only way really to enforce it.
  11. You are obviously missing the entire point of small tribe PVP servers. The idea is for tribes to engage and fight one another not hold hands and cuddle. The previous mode of PVP had lots of the latter and little of the former. 6 players in a tribe is already actually very strong raising it to 10 would be overkill and a definite return of alpha/large tribes.
  12. Let me get this straight, you are a solo player with 530 tamed dinos? No wonder players are always complaining PVE servers are full of lag...
  13. Thx for the addition of small tribe servers I am more then surprised at both the speed what this has been implemented and also the effect. I was expecting Wild Card to play a more cautious card and aim for 10 players but instead we got 6 which is even more fantastic. Thx for listening to your players.
  14. No it doesn't. All it means is some bases with 10,000 turrets all crammed together have to do some rethinking outside the box about how to organise their defence. It's a win for small tribes and its a win for medium tribes. It is only a loss for the very largest of tribes.
  15. Well said. What we are seeing here is the same kind of nonsense people were spewing after the flyers were balanced. Boycotts to quit the game, hate for the devs, wild fictitious claims about ARK dieing and the world ending. A week after the patch is released you'll see things return to calm as people adjust and get on with the full time job of playing ARK.
