You will be able to host a player dedicated server using your home computers via Xbox Play Anywhere, it will be identical to how Player Dedicated servers are hosted on your console right now (meaning you won't be able to see the server's "console"/the backend is hidden/there's no feedback from the server to the host unlike regular PC hosted servers).

can anyone help with the highlighted points above? i run a player dedicated on xbox via a second console, but i'm not sure what "not being able to see the server's console" means in this context ........ or "the backend is hidden", or "no feedback from the server to the host"......

Ok that's nice a new better turret but most of us are 100 and probably won't be able to mind wipe so we can learn that new turret. You planning on giving us at least one mind wipe so we can learn that new turret?

everyone gets a respec when aberration comes out so if you're on console you'll be all set as heavy turret will be released with the new map on console. for PC i'm sure they'll do a respec on the 27th to learn the new engram.

Can you please reduce the damage an alpha leeds does.  My leedsycthis killer boat got wiped with a hit from 2 alpha leeds at same time in same spot.  This whole hate thing for people who use boats has gone on long enough.  For many a boat is their base.  Especially when pullers are everywhere on pve.  I miss the open sea.  I dont miss remaking a boat and grinding to never get anywhere in the game.  The leedsycthis is way too much.  At least make the sunken foundations protect it.  Even sarcos attack boats. But not 2 chomp it.  Ruining our experience.  Please make this desperately needed change.

Sorry about the lack of Digest folks, that was my bad, I ended up passing out. We will have one for ya soon tho :)

Is that as in the questions are all answered by devs and you need to just post it? Or as in you still need to select and answer questions?

It seems like what you're saying here is that you passed out before you were able to post the Digest part of the weekly announcements (totally understandable!) .... but i haven't seen it yet. Just clarifying ...... it's my favorite thing to check on this site!

No, you don't have to rebuy the game at release.

I know it's been said a million times that we don't need to re-buy the game, but I paid $30 for EA and the full game is $60 right? So what is to stop someone from buying the EA game today, instead of $60 for the full game in a week?

Aww, you people hate delays and unpredictable releases and bugs? Go play a Blizzard game, one of the largest gaming companies in the world. You will not find any of that there -scoffs-.

Shift happens, relax. Go make your own game company and see if you can do better. Otherwise just suck it up and move on.

BTW, for those of you who took off work or made plans for the release, you should know better than that if you ever waited for a major game to be released. I finally gave up on that with CoD Advanced Warfare. Stayed up all night to play it at midnight (downloaded). Found out I had to wait for 3AM to play it since I was east coast USA. Then I tried downloading the tiny patch and play the game for the following 2.5 hours. Since nothing was successful I decided it was time to sleep and to never do that again for a game. Over 6 hours of my life wasted waiting for a game, but did I whine and beach about it and call the developers names? Probably, but this was not their first time releasing a game.

There's a little bit of a difference between time zone delay/tiny patch and weeks upon weeks of delays. LOL good try.

That's the idea.  Not so much with the recently wiped tribes, but if you want to be able to hurt other players, you need to be able to take some hurt in return.  Not going to feel bad about someone getting wiped in PvP.  That is what they signed up for.  Cheaters, on the other hand, should have their product key revoked to keep them from being able to join any official server.  Their existing characters and tames should all be deleted as well, and if chat log or other records show that their tribe mates were complicit, the tribe should be disbanded and the members made unable to join or ally with one another.

For the record, new players won't move.  New players will play on new servers.  In the past, I bought a game that I thought was less than a week old, installed it, updated it, made my character, jumped into the game, and quickly discovered that there were people playing who were already at "end game" status.  Turns out, the game had been released in Japan over a year before it got released in the US.  Thankfully, the game was not PvP.  But the only reason I can see for an existing PvP player to want the new players flooding his server is so he can unleash his inner schoolyard bully.  Well,... too bad.  And if the legacy PvP servers become ghost towns, then perhaps the players who have to move will be a little less aggressive and a little more friendly on their next server.

For some of us, the joy in online gaming comes from establishing a community, not from destroying one.  I wouldn't mind PvP so much, except that a lot of very insecure people use it as an excuse to act out their fantasies of being the biggest, baddest, bully in the schoolyard.  Such actions (and attitudes) have consequences, and you don't always get to choose them or even know what they are beforehand.

As for "dividing the player base", they did that as soon as they offered the game up for public preview, prior to the official release.  What they've actually done is help level the playing field for the new players (although their lack of experience with the game will still give them a severe disadvantage).  The player base has already been divided in many different ways, in order to allow the individual players to play the type of game they want to play.  Many software companies would do well to follow suit.  If you don't want a divided player base, then by all means... let's do away with PvP, make everyone play PvE, and just to keep everyone on the same playing field, let's make everything Prim+.  Ridiculous?  Of course it is.  And so is asking someone to buy a brand new game, just to find out that they are competing for resources (land, dinos, and actual resources) with people who have been on the server for a couple months, a year, or even longer.  One of the great things about the game, especially PvE, is the opportunity to build.  Why do people want to deny that to the new players?  I'm not a big believer is "safe spaces", but in this case, they need it, they are getting it, and they should.  Feel free to continue complaining about it, though.  Whatever makes you happy!  :D

that's why the answer should have been wipe all servers.

Will happen a merge in the future? Its perty weird to have 2 total separate clusters. Is there another way to deal with mega tribe dupers?

This is exactly what I've been saying. I get ripped in these forums because their solution "works for everyone" so why am I not grateful for the decision? ..... but really it divides the community and the player base.

But now, you have the option of starting new on a new server, as if there is a wipe.

What good will it be for the ones left behind if their antics have driven others away.

His comment was that he "doesn't like the idea of a constant separation of players on servers." You told him he has the option of joining the new servers, but did not address his point. This essentially dividing the entire population, which is an awful idea. Extremely disappointed we didn't get a full wipe of every server, which is the correct thing to do.

You don't have to cheat. I don't cheat and i don't care that my neighbour has more than me. I don't care how he got it. Just play the game, man.

you would care if your neighbour used what he cheated to get to grief you off the server. can't 'just play the game man' when cheating makes it unplayable

Actually, Jat said that currently, they will not.  However, I believe he also said that the answer has not been set in stone.

Laughable that PVE doesn't get a new cluster. I do not play or like PVE whatsoever, but it's a travesty that anyone who does has no choice but to continue playing with dupers. LOLOLOL enjoy that!
