  1. I'm preparing for my own creature submission in test threads I'm not submitting. But uploading the images is a pain in the butt for me. Every time I try to upload more than one, I keep getting a "You used up all of the attachment space you are allowed per post." What is that supposed to be? Because it also says next to it "Manage Attachments to free up space." Even if it's just one picture left in "My Attachments", it still does that to me! Again, what is all that about? Nobody seems to talk about it anywhere here in the forums or anywhere else, as all search results I've made turn out completely and totally useless. Not even the "My Attachments" page tells me anything about "attachment space", whatever that "attachment space" is. Please help me with this, so I can understand what's going on here. As I've experienced in the past, I can't upload many pictures at a time, even though I've seen submissions with over a dozen image attachments. So, if I experience that again, I can't make proper submissions as everyone else.
  2. Congrats to you for Shastasaurus making it into the game by winning the voting session. And this was my first vote for a particular map to win too!
  3. The Center has a deep cavern/trench system to the east of the map, and is one of my favorite underwater environments in Ark. I've always wondered what it would be like if giant ichthyosaurs, like Shonisaurus, were in it. With Shastasaurus as being a possible candidate as one of the top ten animals for the next session, I'd like for this thing to spawn in the underwater trench-caves should it win, as I think it's an ideal habitat for giants like it.
  4. Creature information (The following information takes inspiration form the dossier, anotehr submission, as well as my own) Basic: Longisquama is a small shoulder mount found mostly latched onto trees in the Fertile and Biolume zones of Aberration, just like an Archaeopertyx to Redwood and Joshua trees. But this reptile is elusive due to its size. Though one may find one in the dark via the colorful glowing feather-like filaments on its back, just like how Aberrant creatures have their unique glow patterns. (An example of glowing-ness on the animal) Behavior: Longisquama can wonder around, but they can also be found latched onto trees they can climb on, particularly the big trees in the fertile chamber. If you get near them, they will jump off and flee. However, there's also a chance that they may choose "Fight" instead! The reptile's filaments can shoot out at rapid speed. There can be up to 10 quills at a time that can be fired. So they do have a small delay to regenerate before firing again. These quills can be either tipped with either poison- or tranquilizing (torporing) venom. When tamed, you can enable your Longisquama's toxin to any of the two, and it can be recommended to use against the Nameless as they spawn endlessly in the darkened zones. (Taming) To tame a Longisquama, you'll have to passively. However, this can be tricky as they are quite shy or defensive. You have to feed it Chitin. Put some in your last inventory slot and make it come to you. They will even drop from their trees when they know you have some. Once fed, they will immediately flee away. Do this multiple times and then you have it! (Other information) Longisquama is a small reptile from the Triassic period. Some with specimens with filaments on them. Some say they were paired to look like wings. Others don't think so and say they were a single row. Longisquama - Wikipedia Refrence images:
  5. Longisquama Dossier artwork by: Blackfrog96, DeviantArt See reply below to view more information of my own.
  6. I found the dossier image from the original artist who made the creature for the Fjordur voting session on ArtStation. Joshua Tedder - Titanoceratops scutigerulus (artstation.com) My added idea was it to have an armored saddle aesthetic and mounted turret similar to the Triceratops Titan from the 2006 RTS game, ParaWorld. Especially since the unit is from a viking based tribe. And since Ragnarok is Viking inspired, I don't see why not.
  7. Speaking if which, since the ocean is so vast all around that map, I think, should it not make this vote but may so for The Center, I see it as being easy transportation through the water instead of waiting to grind too much for the already in-game water/amphibious dinos and boats.
  8. Much of the island Rognarok is on doesn't have much big water areas except for that canyon, the desert lake, and the ocean surrounding it. But if it were to be added, an ideal habitat for it would be the southeast of the map in the ocean. There are rocky underwater plateaus with very little land above the surface and chopped off logs for whatever reason.
  9. This dossier isn't perfect admittedly, but it has the best design of a giant bison in dossier form in my opinion. I think one of the best ways to get enough voting attention, specifically for the second round and assuming this creature will be in it, is to show a great dossier design at the beginning top of our post the moment potential voters click and view the option. Obviously, it isn't necessarily needed as what happened with Fasolasuchus which showed a great generalized Ark design image at the top of the thread, but it does seem like a good idea to do dossiers as well on the top of the post. I think that was partly how Gigantoraptor got second place the last time. I also believe the Desmodus won the Fjordur voting session partly because of that too.
  10. The biggest known confidentially described and studied Gorgonopsid is Inostrancevia. But in the mid 2000s, Primeval and Walking with Monsters, based on my deep research on the internet and contrary to popular online fan belief, the large Gongonopsian in those shows is based on a species from the Gorgonops genus: G.longifrons (at least for Primeval explicitly from what I can find). Because the longifrons species, though only known from an incomplete skull, was thought to be larger than the typical Gorgonops size. But no furthers study papers or formal contrary opinions exist on the internet, presumably because nothing's been done to do so yet.
  11. Here's an idea for Shantungosaurus sound inspirations from an indie MMORPG. The sounds at 0:06 - 0:18 are my favorite roars.
  12. It's just like what I said earlier in this comment section yesterday. I don't believe bringing employee, leadership, or customer political virtue signaling stances is a good idea into game communities. no matter the good intent, because it can incite political offense and upset to anyone in said communities who come across this stuff and spread that aggression anywhere within. There's always a right and wrong time and place for anybody's personal political stance to be heard. But I don't believe game communities are that right place at anytime.
  13. No matter the political views or favoring party of a game company's leaders, employees, and customers, and no matter the good intent for anyone involved from who's speaking out, political statement issues, such as a U.S. Supreme Court ruling stance of a company's employees or leadership, in my opinion, shouldn't be stated anywhere in video game communities. Because they can bring about political incite to customers, causing escalated hatred and aggression towards other customers and the game's company's own employees and associates, regardless of their stances. I believe in my opinion the vocalization of this political stance publicly by the studio's employees within Ark's social media (Facebook, Twitter, Steam, and the official forums) is a bad move for the reason's stated above. Edit to add more: I'm on the opinion that video game communities should be a place of respect to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves in them such as these forums and any other form of social media. It doesn't feel right to add political stance issues into them by anyone. Here's a policy quote that I agree with from another official forum site that I'm a part of regarding politics: "These forums are used by individuals of all nations, beliefs and creeds. To ensure everyone can enjoy the forums we ask that you not post any threads or content that discusses political topics as they can cause offence and upset."
