  1. Damn that "Rockwell Portrait" looks like a former boss of me. Everything makes sense now 😂
  2. OMG I'm in love with this event and the chibis, some of them are sooo cute and I'm laughing WAY too hard at some of the others lmao I mean.. that moschops and turtle and carno xDDD my favorite so far is the pter. sooo sweet very well done and really fun, thank you!
  3. I'd not kill any of the old dinos that "noone wants" because chances are that for each "useless" species there's a handful of people who loves them to pieces New dinos are always exciting, especially when they're DINOS like the Deino instead of made up alien creatures, but there's so many already and (at least in PvE) half of them have no real purpose or there are others that can do the same thing better, or species that are the only ones to use for certain things like anky to harvest metal or angler for pearls. So I think more TLCs would be awesome that add new use to the unwanted creatures and make them more interesting as well as to - maybe - create alternatives for anky & co. so you can choose which one you like better, a land/SE creature that can harvest pearls (like the ones on SE and in shallow water) etc.
  4. Are you saying this is not necessarily just my PC dying? I've been getting this too for weeks now on my 1060. Not in any other game and as far as I'm aware of, not on any other map but Rag either. Even had to reinstall ARK twice already since it got somehow deinstalled/deleted from Steam during these events, which is particularly annoying. I'd like to know since I was going to get it to service, if it's an issue with the game rather than my computer that would probably be a waste of time >.<
  5. I'd like that too^^ we have the Manticore armor skin set which is great, it would be really nice if other bosses dropped armor skins as well and other artifact containers had weapon and tool skins like the ones in SE do. So you'd have to work for it afterall, but there'd be a bit more diversity other than everyone looking the same^^ Home
  6. S+ : can't you just handle PvE and PvP separately for once on that one? UNLIMITED pickup for ALL (S+) structures in PvE, keep whatever restrictions there need to be in PvP. Also PLEASE disable terrain collision in PvE... it's a server wise setting. It won't interfere at all with PvP, but allow us to finally build nice things without stupid gaps and workarounds JUST because 1% of a structure sticks into terrain.
  7. So this means in order to "unstore/unfreeze" a creature, an open tame slot on the server is required? Do you REALLY believe that in this case they will be used much? lol - freezing our dinos so that hoarders and storage tribes can hoard and store even more? No way...
  8. YET another PvP server cluster while PvE is still permacapped. Great news ?
  9. no, it used to be 30% of island spoil time until some weeks ago, now it's 90%, making it easy for everyone without tek troughs to breed on SE too
  10. SE are capped too. Ppl moved their crap and breeding stuff in as soon as spoil time was adjusted ?
  11. tbh I don't expect anything to happen anymore after Extinction release. It's the last DLC, then the game is "finished" and they're already working on a new one so...
  12. ofc no word about PvE tame cap and how it's going to be adressed. Lame. I wonder how many asked about that? S+ coming "some time" after Extinction - when was it first announced, like 9 months ago? Can't you just keep announcements like this to yourself until you actually know how and what - and when - instead of making everyone excited and then not talk about it anymore for a year? Or at least keep the community updated, even if it's only bimonthly. Just so we know it's still a thing and wasn't "forgotten".
  13. Aye, great job on making SE easy enough for every idiot to play on. They're capped too now. Very great job. You know, some of us happily took the challenge of it being harder for the benefit of having a server where taming and breeding was still possible. We never had any problems with the environment, we EMBRACED it. It was the only thing that kept SE servers alive and healthy. Just fyi, one week after the change, they were already capped and dying just like the rest. What's next? Will you just allow all creatures on Aberration so we can cap these too and destroy the VERY last sanctuary to make ARK COMPLETELY pointless for PvE players?
  14. I hear that happened on accident before lol but god, no
  15. We don't need more (*fresh*) servers that will just cap within three weeks again. We need an actual, well considered long term solution for the server nomadism that's been going on for months. Any x amount of new servers will go down the same road previous ones have - be good for a few weeks, cap, and turn into ghost towns as people move on to the next set. I'd like to know three things: - Does anyone whom it concerns actually READ or even just CARE about the numerous suggestions that have been made regarding cap, - Is there ANY intent on even TRYING to find a solution, and - Why is PvE treated like it doesn't even exist?
  16. This might be ok for some tribes who have a lot of time to spare and/or many members, but for most of us, especially smaller tribes and tribes who don't breed (much), it would absolutely kill the game. Imagine having to constantly replace all your kibble tames, boss tames and gatherers, breeding pairs and especially non-breedable creatures. Not only does it take a lot of time to raise them (in some cases, like Yuty, Quetz, or even worse Giga), at least boss tames and gatherers also need to be leveled and whatnot. This game already is time consuming enough, and just because some tribes can never get enough it really shouldn't become a fulltime job for all of us.
  17. Looks as much like a starship/alien game/DLC to me as Aberration did, and I'm anything but a fan of the latter. I figured it'd be something like that but still hoped for a more "normal" map with actual dinos instead of TEK/alien monstrosities and really dislike the way it's going from primeval/dinosaur to Star Wars, but to each their own. I'll give it a try, always open for a pleasant surprise. Else I'll just stick with the normal maps, maybe it'll help with the cap at least. To everyone who's complaining bout having to wait till Novemer: at least we got a date now. Unlike S+, which I was really looking forward to. Also, keep in mind it's going to be the last DLC. Noone knows what will be after that, or if there will be anything at all - ARK got so much worse after full release (at least from a PvE perspective), and "last DLC" sounds a bit like an ending. Nothing to look forward to really.
  18. Did you only build pillars with nothing attached (ladders, ceiling, fence foundation...)? These always vanish within 12 hours of not being randered by the owning tribe. To make sure they stay, just attach one ladder on the top pillar and you'll be fine
  19. This pillar change is most likely one of the worst things that could possibly happen. There has already been a change long ago that literally did nothing to prevent players from pillaring except making them build pillars with ceilings (that prevented spawns) until we found out that pillars+ladders also works. The only thing that will change this time is that there will be either small houses that block everything or 5 high pillars with multiple ladders attached. Hello lag. It WILL NOT keep people from pillaring/claiming land, especially not established tribes that have the resources to do whatever is necessary. - pillars are used to protect resource spawns. Which, sadly, is necessary because you CAN build on these spawns and people do it - on purpose (we've had multiple issues with tetris tribes building on metal spawns just to block them), or just because they're noobs that don't know better. When I started playing, I knew nothing about foundations blocking spawns. There was one tribe that had pillared off all resource spawns to keep people like me from blocking them and preserving them for everyone, which is a good thing. - pillars are used to protect base areas and the area around them. I've had one guy build a 1x2 thatch hut INSIDE my fenced in base area before because I hadn't pillared there. On SE, we didn't pillar around the base and one guy built his ugly ass gates-only dino prison cube RIGHT outside our gates when there was PLENTY of building space left all over the map, just to name a few examples. It really means more lag, being unable to expand, having to travel far for resources (like stone, wood, meat) that would normally spawn just next to you and in some cases that you have to swim or make a long way around neighboring bases. - pillars are used to claim land for future building projects. Often there is no way you can stomp out a whole base within a day or two, so you have to pillar. People build just anywhere, and if the place they like is JUST outside the "enemy range" of your foundations where you were going to build your fence, they WILL build there. - noobs tend to whine that there is NOWHERE to build on a server when really they'd just have to step off the beach to find there's plenty of space left. I see that every day on the island server. Just because the nicest places are taken (after half a year, I mean what do you expect?) and beaches are pillared to preserve paths and spawn points/areas so noone gets stuck in foundations, does not mean there is nowhere to build. Servers where there is "nowhere to build" are capped too anyway so why even bother building a base. Pillars are not an issue. The issue are people who block resources that are not pillared and people who have no brains to not build RIGHT NEXT to someone elses' base or block paths (we wouldn't even need pillars if these didn't exist). But just because there's some greedy people out there who abuse them to pillar off whole maps (like on our Aberration server where 3 tribes have pillared 90% of the map), it's being made harder for all of us. It's always the same. Some whine, some misbehave, EVERYONE gets punished. This is not how you make your community happy ?
  20. Great so instead of making pillars with ladders that do not affect (and often protect) resource spawns, people will now (have to) build small houses that will block them...
  21. Mindwipe has been changed to only be usable once per level. Means once you reach max level (100) you need to ascend to use another one, once you reach MAX max level (including all ascensions) you can use one more mindwipe and that's it. I really do think that there should be a change to that. I'm on PvE and the majority of tribes are small ones with 3 players or less, most without a crafting char / additional account. In addition to one MW per level, one MW per week (for the high/max level players) would be great
  22. I did my weekly feeding and resetting trip and decided to play a bit on my Legacy servers. Took my lv 80ish Argent to the desert to kill some Mantises for chitin to make cp and got enough to make some greenhouse walls and a few roofs, but not enough. So I decided to go to island where I had - HAD - a char with some stacks cp in inventory and got some more from beaver dams, but then didn't want to wait forever for the nearby drop to appear. So, although I knew better, I took my only tame I had - HAD - there, a 170ish horse, to go to the green ob and ofc got Unicorned and killed by a Raptor. That pounce attack is really stupid. Didn't even wait for the message to appear that my horse was killed also and logged off. I might not come back to that server after this I then went to the non Legacy ragna server and game crashed right away as always on there, but still managed to tame a 150 Equus. It sadly didn't get any good stats, so I just left it there, mated Allos and went back to SE, where I hatched some Argents and Tapes. Someone on the server could use the horse I tamed on ragna earlier so I brought it over and gave it to a good home. Once I could leave the babies for a while I went to aberration to replace the glide suit I'd lost last week on SE and bring some more, farmed some gems and noticed that a spot I'd laid eye on a while back had opened up, so I put down some pillars to start building there within the next days Back on SE I mated some Jerboas trying to finally get a full white girl for my male, but really timed it badly, thanks to my tribemate the babies survived while I was having dinner again no full white girl, but raising them anyway since they hardly ever live longer than a day So, today's ARK was part good and part not so much lol
  23. Today I hatched these two beauties finally managed to get an all black tape, the other one is black with dark red wings mut^^
  24. lol EU isn't even getting a new SE and Aber one, but it's true, SE is the map where cap has the least impact. imo there should be way more (PvE) rag servers, these are the ones that suffer the most. There should be way more PvE servers alltogether, cap and pillars are way less of an issue on PvP and there are much more PvP servers already. While I do realize the no transfer thing may help new players to get started on PvP, there are still a whole lot of ppl playing PvE on capped servers and the few new ones will be capped just as quickly with armies of dodos and/or jerboas tamed. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy seeing new servers being added, but the amounts of them are only a solution for a few weeks until we're back to cap and feeding since people are going crazy filling tribe limits as fast as possible to preserve slots for themselves. Can't even blame them after having been stuck on capped servers for half a year. If cap weren't a thing, noone would need to have a base full of "killables" to even be able to tame and breed, which, let's face it, are two of THE main reasons why we play PvE, and the whole game would be much more enjoyable again for both established tribes and new players.
