  1. I don't remember wich one of you guys on this forum told me to use 'nomansky' (and nothing else ) in the lauch options, but THANK YOU!! I could actually load the Ragnarok map and... I can fly!! I mean... I can fly long distances!! Before this I instantly crashed when flying. The last two weeks I've started a new single player game and I've done nothing more than flying around, amazed of the beautiful views and trying to decide where to build myself a home. It's like a whole new game to me, new land to explore and I am no longer limited to a small section of the map due to land travel. In case you missed the point: I'm having FUN
  2. nothing. I play primitive plus and that is all messed up since the latest update. Lost all my learned engrams ans got no level points in return, so basically I can't craft anything anymore, not even a pickaxe. I hope they fix it soon (didn't log in today to check). On a funny note... last time I logged in, I found a baby dodo in my pen that was not there before. A fertilized egg must have dropped and stayed at the right temperature all the time. Hatched an almost grown up before I even noticed . My 7 year old kid was the first to spot it. He said "look mom you got a new dodo!" and I was like "no way"
  3. Bred my first raptor and now I'm babysitting it. I turned the maturing slider all the way up and after 10 or more hours it still only is at 30%. Really? All I do is meatruns to keep it fed. I even restarted to play another game because I got bored. I won't be breeding a second one after this, It just takes way to much time (I probably should have looked a few things up before starting breeding). It does look cute tho
  4. I finished my geenhouse this weekend. And I tamed a second ankylo, although I was not looking to tame one. I found it uncounscious on a mountain top, with a dead scorpion next to it.
  5. Really? I actually had metal spike walls around my base, but they busted through in about 2 seconds and they did not seem to take any damage. It would take a lot of preparation since I'm out of metal right now, but I might try this next time. Thanks!
  6. After 3 days of captivity I finally gave in and used a command line to despawn the 2 alpha raptors near my base. I tried killing them and luring them away, but they kept coming back. I kind of feel bad for cheating, even though I play single player, but it was either that or quitting the game in frustration. Hopefully tomorrow I can resume 'normal' play - meaning not hiding in my base.
  7. I've been trying for days to avoid an alpha raptor outside my base, when a second alpha raptor spawned in! How many more will come? I can hardly sneak in and out my base anymore. There is not a single herbivore around anymore since they kill everything. I waited 7 ingame days and they are still both there. I'm sp level 45. If anyone has ideas of how to deal with them, I'm all ears.
  8. Found a beehive for the first time. I will not be sticking my hands in any of those again any time soon
  9. Tames 2 para's, a trike, a raptor, 2 dilo's, 2 dimorphodons, an oviraptor and a doedicurus. Completed the spiked wall around my base and built some more primitive plus stuff. I felt pretty safe since a rex got stuck in the spiked wall the first time. The second rex stepped right over it RIP 1 dilo, raptor, para, trike and oviraptor. Damn...
  10. started making a wall around my base, ran out of metal, took off to the nearest mountain only to bump into a therizino that I didn't notice (I must be blind, they are so big?!) and lose the few dino's I tamed after the previous disaster. Sigh... ended my evening with a new raptor level 4. I wouldn't bet on a long life for that one
  11. lost all my dino's (2 dodo's, 2 dilo's, 2 lystro's and a raptor) to a Rex that came too close to my base. My house itself survived, slightly damage, because I ran and hid behind some rocks untill the damn rex left. Poor dino's, they never had a chance I will now try to level enough to get the metal spike wall engram to wall off my base (should be enough in sp).
  12. I made the switch to primitive plus and I love it so far I restarted from scratch so I'm running around in cloth armor again, getting killed by raports and the like
  13. I only played one evening the last week, due to being tired and other stuff to do. I had some trouble after a minor update getting my dino's to follow me. For some reason they now get stuck behind every little rock or tree. It was in the area west of the volcano, where it is a very rocky forest. At one point I tried for 15 minutes to move forward and I failed. rocks everywhere and my rex bumped into every little one of them. So frustrating. In the end I lost a rex because it stopped walking somewhere and I didn't notice (the other one was still stomping behind me). By the time I went back searching I arrived just in time to see it die from an allo and Theriz attack. Damn... I am now tempted to take a break and try out the primitive+ mode.
  14. I feel like I'm finally getting out of the 'early' game. I tamed 2 rexes and managed to kill a pack of allosaurs. There was a time I thought I would never be able to handle them, now I really felt invincible for a moment ? Too bad my game still crashes in the redwood forest. I would have loved building a new base there. Will try building close to the volcano sometime soon.
  15. Not much. After a sick kid, now I also have a sick husband, which is worse - more whining Made a rifle. I don't like guns in games, but I wanted to test the tranq darts. Didn't help much, costs lots of resources and the 2 T-rexes I tested them on both took off before I could knock them unconscious. Maybe tonight I will make a crossbow and search for a low level Rex to try again. Getting an anky is also still on my to do list.
  16. tamed a Doedicurus. For some reason this one didn't curl up. I made an attempt to tame a T-rex too, but I ran out of arrows and it took off to the horizon
  17. I did not do much this weekend. I have a sick kid and yesterday I was at the tennis club most of the day, either playing myself or cheering for teammates. I did start up Ark, just to rearrange some stuff and make my base a bit more efficient. That's about it.
  18. I do play single player. I like to be my own boss and I don't want to worry about other players. I also like to be able to load a savegame if things go too wrong (like losing all my raptors and carno's at once for instance). I have a few hundred hours into Ark and this was the first time I had a herbivore damaging my structures, so I was a bit surprised. Lesson learned I guess
  19. I had some repair work to do yesterday. My main base is way in the south, not much defense needed there I thought. Everything is made of thatch or wood. There are only dilo's around and the occasional sarco. But somehow a Bronto accidentally aggroed on something and started stomping around, damaging my greenhouse and stuff. I managed to kill the bronto but the rest of my evening went to repairing what it damaged, and building a wall surrounding my base. Today I will do the same at my new base, except that here I will be building stone gates and metal pike walls, since I've seen rexes and carno's around.
  20. My stories always sound so simple compared to you guys... but that's what you get playing solo with not much free time. Here's my mini story for today: I finally scouted a little bit of the map in the south without being killed. I managed to build a second, smaller camp at Drayo's Cove. After quick exploring the surroundings of my new base, I just stood there, hoping the T-rex that was picknicking in my new camp would leave. Thank god it left for the woods I'm still running around on raptors, don't think I could have handled the rex. My next days/week will be more building and expanding for sure. And maybe upgrading my tames to carno's
  21. I had a dissapointing evening too. I attempted to hatch an egg for the first time. After hours of babysitting it died of starvation with a full inventory. Seems to be a known bug, but I didn't know that. What a waste of time
  22. I got my hands on 15 obsidian, at last. Don't laugh! I'm single player, I have my base in the south and I can't fly due to game crashes when I fly, so it's really a pain to find any obsidian. All the other resource are not a problem, but that one... ughhh. I have no resource respawn in the caves (bug). I can't take my raft up north because of the whales. I tried going to the snow biome with my dolphin, but could not find any obsidian right at the coast, and I'm too weak to fight the creatures there one my own, without my raptors. Died twice trying. I can't go on foot either because I can't handle the t-rexes and spino's in the neighbourhood of my base yet. In the end I turned the 'resource respawn' slider in my settings all the way down and after 2 ingame days finally one obsidian rock in the lower south cave respawned. Hurray!
  23. I started up Ark, left my pc unattended for a minute, and found myself watching tv all evening while my 7 old boy chased dodo's and para's around my base.
  24. haha I guess that can happen sometimes Nothing wrong with that as long as you enjoyed it. I have no spectacular story to tell, just ran around with my raptor with no specific goal. Tamed 2 more, so now I have a raptor army. Saw an alpha carno which made me run away real fast On the negative side I managed to kill one of my own dolphins. It was stuck underneath a shark and I was thinking I was hitting the shark, but ended up killing the dolphin. So stupid...
  25. I restarted the game on the lowest settings last week. Looks ugly like hell but hey - no crashes so far (knock on wood). Managed to get to level 35. I made a new base in the south, tamed 4 dodo's, 3 lystro's, 1 parasaur, 1 raptor and 5 dilo's, and made a raft. Yesterday I tamed 2 dolphins only to find out they couldn't swim to the little lagoon where my base is (too shallow). So I made a little water pen for them at the beach. Last thing I did yesterday was riding my raptor. I was not able to do this before, because it caused crashes when trying running/ riding fast/ flying. So I'm having a better game experience so far, though it looks ugly. I also found my 7 year old gathering some wood when I left my pc unattented. Handy
