  1. I reported a similar issue. I am playing single player/non-dedicated with a friend and we tamed a couple dinos at different times. We uploaded them at the Obi because we were really far from home base. We removed them from the Obi that was closest to the base then walked them back. They we there until I shut down for the night and restarted the next afternoon. The taming is listed in the Logs but nothing about the disappearance. I lost good saddles that I equipped them with and I even breed some of them and I still have the offspring. I figured this was an Obi glitch but maybe not.
  2. Also the rating of a creature is not based on a newly tamed one but a well breed one.
  3. Based on what it seems like you are saying this does not accomplish the thing you are venting about. By setting such a ridiculous build limit that will make players build out and take up more land not less. The limit was in a certain radius so if instead you build multiple buildings and space them out you will not hit that limit. Unless the mechanic has drastically changed to a total building pieces which it never was then this makes it worse not better. Big dinos require big buildings especially when breeding them. This seems like more of a move try to get the 70 players on a server to work which is not likely.
  4. Not that I have anything invested in this idea but it could work if implemented differently. The actual building could be in the world but certain rooms or door could lead to an instance for dino breeding or storage. They could phase it much like Blessed Unleashed if I remember correctly so as not to load entirely into another map. Building only hurts performance when they get very large and supposedly that has been optimized some but dinos do it way before then. Before Cryopods I proposed they have cylindrical vats that you could store dinos in that could have a slot in the bottom to still give regular and fertilized eggs. I think if designed right it would have been very cool looking to have rooms full of Dino suspended in bubble solution.
  5. What you seem to be hinting at is not PVE. Most PVE players HATE PVP not just dislike it. They do have a mechanic to remove other players structures and it is time based and material based. The problem now is too few servers and constant rollbacks resetting timers. Plus in my experience when a server goes down is doesn't just set the time back to the rollback but also seems to rollback to a minimum of 12 hours. I am not sure if this is still happening but this is probably a grace period because of game stability. As far as players being toxic well that is just selfish human nature. No update can change that. PVP is for selfish people they should play there.
  6. One solution not tried is Home instances much like in Palia. They are not really trying to fix the problem. They only care that you keep playing. Cryopods were a step in the right direction and their poor judgement lead to this, unless they have a better implementation that is not ready yet.
  7. When I set up a Non-dedicated session it pops up with a password box but this password is not to prevent access to my server it is only for the Console Commands. If I selected the box for Private Match then my game is now not findable through Steam so my friend can not join me. Even if they try to join me through the Steam friends list it only gives the option to Watch. I also can not invite them to my server either. If I do not check the box for a private match then I have random people periodically joining my server. What is the point for a Private Non-dedicated match option when I could just select single player in the first place? How do I set Ark up to play with a friend with it being public?
  8. Not with trying to force 70 players per server. I know that limit existed before but there were plenty of servers to move to that had less so it was often 40 or less at a time. This time they have too few servers forcing the population to max which means less dinos per players because I would bet that server dino cap (5500) is still the same. 5500/70 = 78.57 which is oddly close to the 100 cap they started with.
  9. This is either a not very well thought out idea or worse they intend on selling dino space in a cash shop they have yet to disappoint us with.
  10. I like to see that work with a 100 dino limit. Very limited farms.
  11. I assumed this was just temporary. Are they actually intending to not eventually add Cryopods? That would be really dumb especially since they lowered tribe Dino count to 100. This will eventually kill the game if they keep it like this.
  12. I am having the same issue. I have been running Non-Dedicated with a friend and we got ambushed by a Rhyniognatha who killed our only two Flyers. I have been looking to tame new ones but none are spawning.
  13. If only they could have had some sort of a practice run
  14. I believe there is a distance thing related to that. If the baby is close to the parent then I have been unable to claim. Killing the parent makes babies wild and you can claim easily but they do run away scared after you kill the parent.
  15. I noticed the same thing. I also noticed that you can't sort by ping. It pretends to but just random. I can't join any servers as they are always full even if the numbers are 16/70. The player counts seem to be broken.
  16. Boiling a game down to cost per hour played may be good in some situations but not in this case. This is still and actively played and updated game. Complaining expresses issues that should be addressed in order to make a better game. WC should always strive for the best version that they can produce and add content to that instead of ignoring issues and adding content as a distraction and money infusion. Also the game is not $60. You have to add the base game plus all expansions individually because that is how many acquired it. Ark's cost is in the hundreds and if WC recognizes it and keeps making content many more hundreds as well. Many players also pay monthly fees for this game to play a modded version because the official version leaves a lot to be desired.
  17. If you want a mystery then use self control and do not watch such Ark content. I do not know what the mystery is and I play Ark all the time. Who wants to watch livestreams versus playing yourself, sounds lame.
  18. The timer should just be removed entirely in PVE. It is just another limitation for PVP that PVE players have to suffer from for zero reason. Seperate PVP from PVE! It is on your QOL list please get this done.
  19. Break official in what way? Why would you pick up your base because of your forge? How small is your base that it could be picked up in a matter of minutes? You could not pick up my base in 5 hours. Based on your responses I do not believe you have enough experience to give recommendations. I have used S+ and it is in no way OP. It simply automates many of the annoying and monotonous tasks which frees you up to actually enjoy the game. I do not think you know what you are recommending. You are shooting yourself in the foot.
  20. I do not think it works that way at all. I would say there is just a timestamp on each structure placed and based on that date and time it enables you to pick up or not. The ability to pick structures up has always been in the core game mechanics it is just disabled on Official. You can enable it on single player or modded servers. They are actually making server performance worse by keeping track of the timestamps. If you could just pick items up anytime then they would not need to keep track of that at all. I have messed around with building and 30 seconds is basically pointless; by the time I come to the decision to pick it back up, it is too late.
  21. I completely disagree. Many players, not just you, have the attitude that a dino tamed for eggs is useless; this is illogical. The use is for eggs which is a use. There are like 100+ dinos in the game and if this change happens in this way then you will only need 6. That make rather large groups of dinos that have similar egg types. You will only need one of them and everyone will figure out which one is the best one to keep and all the other dino's in that group will be ignored. Even if they have other uses unless what they do it vital they will be excluded from gameplay. Six dinos will give you access to all dinos and you still think that passes for progression? This is just dumbing down the gameplay which is insulting to all those who had to do it the hard way for the last few years. As far as dinos sitting around that was really only needed for a time. Once you accumulate a couple stacks of eggs you do not need them anymore. Now with the cryopods you can put them away without the need to tame them again in the future because you can take them out if you run low until you are stocked up again. I am all for improvements and streamlining things but this comes across as a hatchet job. I feel that one way they could do this and retain some of the progression would be to make all the dinos in a given group have a different value to their egg quality. If you use the easiest dino with the lowest quality eggs then it will take more of their eggs to make the same amount of kibble and conversely, if you use the hardest dino in a group with the highest quality eggs then it less of their eggs to make their size of kibble. If they don't do at least something like this then I feel this change will, in the long term, have a bad effect on the gameplay. Only ever using and breeding 6 dinos will get boring very quickly.
  22. Raw meat? Are you serious? Do you realize how long that would take? It is impractical and stupid. A 150 Mosa would take 15 Hours and 35 minutes as well as destroy your taming efficiency. It will take 1010 Raw meat and 6225 Narcotics to do it that way. Just because you can do some things does not mean you should! There is a reason why the game makes it that painful because it is telling you that this is not the way to do it.
  23. I am not even sure that this is S+. The structures have always had the ability to pick them up it was just disabled. It feels like a trick.
  24. I agree that there are positive aspects to this change but you do realize this will make the majority of dinos pointless. The types not just the ones being used for eggs currently. Also alot of the games beginning progression will be gone because of this. You could not just tame a Queztal or Mosa without taming previous types of dinos.
