Community Crunch 441: Astraeos Official Partner DLC!
JosephFireseed replied to StudioWildcard's topic in Announcements
Actually let's do an impromptu vote. Who has both downloaded and enjoyed/kept a mod? Who has downloaded and then uninstalled or just skipped mods all together? -
Community Crunch 441: Astraeos Official Partner DLC!

Why would anyone use mods? The base game itself has more than it's fair share of hiccups and obstacles to overcome, why would you take the risk of using a community built item or skin or mod of any sort when your officially supported stuff is still prone to plenty of pratfalls? I don't use Mods. I was tempted by the Sinomacrops long long ago. But skipped it. I figured the devs could make a real and supported one better. And here I'm still waiting. The Lost Island could be a ways away still if at all... -
Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays 2024!

Thank you. The same to you. You guys get a lot of grief on this comment section. Some of it may even come from me. But it's because I love this game that I have such passion for it. And do think this is the forum to express those emotions. But I think maybe an acknowledgement of the joy that you've brought me even after the moments of grief is deserved. Because as terrible as the moments might be they pass, and the game continues and I'm so grateful for it. Sometimes PlayStation has to wait. Sometimes Xbox has to wait. But we are all here together afterwards. Thanks to you guys. Too often the player base will rush to the message boards to express and share their sincere grievances. Sometimes they share a bit too aggressively if you ask me. And sometimes the grievance may not be that sincere. And I think that is a positive sign of player engagement to venture all the way here and type up a comment. Most will just leave if that is what they intended to do and not bother to send any message beyond just quitting the game. That being said, I think it's kind of sad that after 3 hours I'm still the first and only comment. We should give credit where credit is due. Grief where grief is due. And maybe just show gratitude for a heart felt message of peace. Thank you so very much Wild Card. For everything. Yes even the delays that teach me to appreciate what I have even more once I finally get it. And see you in the next year!- 14 replies

Community Crunch 439: Winter Wonderland Is Nigh!

They said Xbox certification was taking 4X as long. If there was a delay of 1 day initially it stands to reason that it won't be until Monday when we can play. If Xbox is 4X as long that is. I think they told us the answer without actually telling us the answer. They just want to keep the fire contained as long as they can. -
Yeah, bullsh*t it will be released on the 19. Come midnight if the 19 there won't have been a single word said about the release of the update, and at about 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. on Friday the 20th, it might actually be released. They say the 19th, but trust me it won't be 12:01 a.m. on the 19th. It'll be 11:59 p.m. on the 19th with no word about the release, until the following morning. It's how it always goes. There has not been a single date that this company has been able to keep. I love ARK, and I will keep playing. But seriously, don't kid yourself even in the slightest.

ASA Cross-Platform Console Premium Mod Launch!
JosephFireseed replied to StudioWildcard's topic in Announcements
Meh -
Wow. Absolutely terrible post. I actually thought if I waited till today to finally check for real news about ASA I'd get something real to tide me over. But it's literally a repeat of dossiers and server saves. They can't even give us another single ASE vs ASA screenshot of one of the hundreds of assets they must have made by now? Something? Who is in charge of your marketing guys? We need this game to be promoted already. Or it's gonna slip through the cracks and then we won't have any more Ark since they sunsetted the ASE and no one will support this game if we can't start showing it off and talking about it with the rest of the community and beyond

Explore a mysterious, chaotic world where native flora and fauna are being overrun by invasive primeval creatures from an extinct Earth! So do they mean an extinct Earth as in the time of dinosaurs? Because I've really believed in my heart that Earth was saved by the Survivor after Extinction DLC. It'll be sad if the repairs the Arks intended to complete never took hold

Community Crunch 315: EVO Event, Community Corner and More!

Also, was the Colony ship launched from an area near Sanctuary? Or was it maybe launched from Terran Federation territory elsewhere? I've always assumed Sanctuary was a URE city built in Russia or China of the future. -

You know, I hardly ever comment on anything, and it's not so much a comment this time, as a question. Is there any art work that might show what Sanctuary looked like in its Prime? What kind of vehicles did we use? Were the walkways just for that? Walking? Was there an airport?Where did the people escape to to try and survive as long as they could? I always imagined we made Ark cities in orbit. Not testing grounds so much as just safe havens to try and wait out the apocalypse. -
You know, I have had this website saved for ages. I used to check it every day. Follow Arks updates, and imagine the possibilities. Read about the new creatures and updates. And see the community creations. But now? I am removing it sadly. It doesn't really get used anymore. And when I do click on it, it's unfortunately filled with contests and information that has very little relevance to my game experience. The posts are infrequent and inconsistent in content and quality. There simply has to be more going on in the community than these pitiful entries would lead someone to believe. As sad as it makes me feel, I think Ark had its run. It was a good one. But, the developers aren't interested in the level of support they once had for it. I don't blame them at all. It's the reality of both the industry and time itself. But I always felt that Studio Wildcard was better. That they tried to consistently keep the fans updated. But now, it's become mostly unreliable to still expect that from them. This used to be a very relied upon feed. Not so much anymore. But the memories of the passed few years with Ark was great. Maybe ARK 2: Survival Evolved Further will rejuvenate your love for the community once again in the future
