  1. It's a remake in a different engine of a game they already had. There's nothing new about it, it's purely a remaster, so the quality they released it in is absolutely not defend-able.
  2. Me and the missus were checking it out, but then we discovered the bullpoop that's going on, so we decided not to.
  3. Man, I haven't played Ark in a long time, or even visited these forums, but I am slowly catching up the news surrounding the Ark Ascended release and all the shenanigans that this company is doing. Like seriously, what the hell is even going on? How can you ruin such an amazing game? Charging for the remake? A monopoly on private servers by a company that charges more than my bank for my mortgage? The sorry state that the remake is in? Does this company even want to make a game?
  4. Did our first attempt at Rockwell Gamma. Interesting PowerPoint presentation. Even on lowest settings, this area is unplayable.
  5. Logged in, died from asteroids on Lunar map, logged out again. This game is becoming more frustrating every single day
  6. Yesterday we finally gathered the courage, means and people to attempt the Gamma version of the King Titan. Sadly, it also meant mostly the end of Ark for us. We're a small tribe, 3 people online on average, 5 or 6 if we call in all friends and actually plan things properly in advance to get something done. We've been playing like this on our private server since Ark entered early access on Steam. We've played through all the expansions as they came out, turned our server into a cluster even to experiment with the transfers and evolve our tribe as we cleared once DLC after another, sticking as close as we could to the original server settings. We honestly think that Aberration was the best expansion for Ark. We thoroughly enjoyed playing on that map, collecting all the new dino's, preparing for the boss fights and ultimately clearing it on alpha difficulty using our reaper kings, rock drakes and ascended gear. It took a lot of effort and work from the tribe, but we pulled it off, preparing everyone for Extinction just a few weeks before it's launch. And sadly, we feel as if Extinction has taken a wrong turn somewhere. All the content is gated behind group content. Sure, we can do the blue drops and easy element veins. Even the yellow ones are doable now with our newly bread Giga's, but it's a risky undertaking. The red ones are manageable if we get lucky with the wyverns, and they swoop in low allowing us to bite them with the giga's without taking too many breaths. But the titan fights are a pain to do with small groups like ourselves. Not because the fights are hard or complex, but the insane amount of materials you need to simply prepare for these encounters. The sheer amount of metal that goes into constructing MEKs for just the basic models alone takes us pretty much a whole day of collecting to build a single unit. Let alone constructing up to 6 of them, or even going for the higher quality ones. Add the materials needed for canon shells, weapons and the element to keep them running through the fight, we need weeks of preparation just to do the titan fights. This compared to the previous expansions is simply too much. Then we finally got the King fight. It started out good. We had MEKs to deal with the crystals and spawns of the boss. We had the Forest Titan for tanking the boss We had the Ice Titan for damaging the boss It all went great till the meteors came in and randomly started killing us. We could soak several meteors without any problem, no damage against the players, but the next one would randomly kill you. This randomness screwed us over so badly that we simply threw in the towel right there. I don't mind executing mechanics, I don't mind the farming as preparation for the fight, but to get screwed over by a seemingly random mechanic that can't make up it's mind whether to kill you or ignore you is too much. Ark was fun, even with the bugs and issues that made me beat the keyboard numerous times, it was overal fun. But our patience has finally run out to keep dealing with this.
  7. This is what we did today: Took us roughly 5 hours to complete the cave and fight, but it was so worth it in the end small mini tribe, now owning the big sky bus
  8. What did we do in Ark today: Get a new rock drake egg for a tribe member, in a more....challenging way. We prepared three Ravagers, 20 mushroom soups each, 2 hazmat suits and some basic crossbows. Using our network of ziplines, we made our way down the trenches to where the Rock Drakes are living, and managed to snatch a level 50 egg out. Fighing for our lives, we succeeded in running all the way back upwards, only to have our tribe member fall from the zipline.....with the egg.... So we rushed to the base, getting our more matured Rock Drakes, dove into the trench and succeeded in recovering the tribe member and egg. The ravager was sadly lost....
  9. It's a pretty straightforward place, even the deeper sections. Mind you I haven't explored it 100% either, but when i went inside with @Meshi we had 2 ravagers and some ziplines to skip the big bad crab in the first section. Biggest issue for us was other ravagers and their bleeds.... But it's a fairly easy cave if you're careful
  10. Breed them at the cave, so you can walk the babies inside. Because the entrance is too small for adult ravagers to enter.
  11. Going on right now : Raising my new level 145 Rock Drake : Shinryu
  12. What turned out to be a horrible Rock Drake attempt turned around and resulted in : Level 160 Egg Level 145 Egg Level 90 Egg Level 50 Egg Level 25 Egg 130+ female featherlight 65+ male featherlight 30 red crystals Journeyman climbing picks blueprint So all in all we walked away with some really nice stuff
  13. Today we did this : Our very first Rock Drake : Mushu
  14. I think this speaks for itself what I've been doing:
  15. As usual, it will be based on US times, meaning they just woke up over there. So give it more time till European evening/late night.
  16. This is more a "What we're going to be doing" post: We've figured out where to finally obtain rockdrake eggs in Aberration. The only problem is getting there safely, which at our current progress is simply not doable. So we've been saving up resources, and we're going to be jumping of the edge of the bio-luminescence area, using the wingsuits to glide all the way down to the Chasm. The goal is to find some safe spot down where we can build and outpost and slowly work on getting there with dino's so we can get eggs
  17. So.... I originally had plans to go explore the blue biome with my girlfriend and our new ravagers...... Ark however decided otherwise.... In the morning I had to update the server for new patches. As usual I destroy all wild dinos. Nothing special right? WELL...... Turns out Ark decided to spawn an alpha crab at our Base wiping out most of our ravagers we wanted to use for exploring.... So we decided to rebreed them. No big deal.... Then we finally started to clear around the Base a bit only to see us getting attacked and several ravagers plus our stage jump down.......whistling gone wrong... So we go down on the zip line to try and recover them losing our gear and ravagers in the process..... Breeding again.... Several hours later we finally set off to the exploration of the blue biome. Until we ran too far and somehow triggered blue poison spores to kill us. Using our remaining ravagers to go back for our original one. Only to lose it all due bugged ziplines.... Stay classy Ark
  18. Finished our base on Aberration Small circular house near a Charge source on the edge between the mushroom forest and biolumiscent cave. Massively breeding Ravagers, those things are awesome! Crabs are frigging scary..... Will upload pictures later. Pictures! Poop Machine Ruby: And our Ravagers Pumpkin and Diva:
  19. that's....being lenient with the interpretation of simultaneous, but yes, technically you're right.
  20. Which is completely irrelevant to the question asked or the delay. When the launch is advertised as "simultaneous", it should be launched as such.
  21. Why is this? Some explanation would be really appreciated, as we're stuck here waiting while console gets to play.
  22. That's some really nice tickle chickens Yesterday took two people new to Ark into the Central Cave on the Island, giving them a proper experience of caving while getting more artifacts for summoning bosses.
