An ocean filled map was never confirmed by Wildcard. It was mostly a suggestion that gained massive traction when Scorched Earth first came out. I have vivid and fond memories of the suggestion thread for it, and even pitched an idea on said thread of a harvestable plantable flora that would provide you with oxygen if you were to swim within an area around it.

That's not a fix, that's just kicking the can down the road and opening up other problems. Years ago, people were using dino/behemoth gates to mesh into the terrain. I don't think anyone here would want any gates gone. This also just highlights how exploits evolve, which is what Ced said in the post.

Again, the event isn't tied to Mother's day at all. Nowhere in the announcement of the evolution event do the words "mother's" and "day" show up.

There's nothing saying anything about the evo event being tied to Mother's day. Past events have actually bothered to make mention that they are connected to a holiday like easter, christmas, and halloween events of the past.  That said, community yearning for a breeding/maturation event doesn't paint this in a better light either, basically saying that moms are just good for making and raising kids. So if we take out all the non "mom friendly" boosts all you're left with is 2x exp and 2x taming, which doesn't line up with them trying to change up evo events since those have pretty much been the things that get activated in basically every single one.

I'm on a dead island legacy server; no other tribes and only about 80 tames, but a titano attacking a turret wall of maybe 150 turrets d/c'd the sever and there was only 5 people on. Our base has maybe 300 turrets total on herb island. No plant x either. While I'm here you need more mods for your severs, there is tons of footage of tribes being under mapped and nothing gets done. There are caps of private messenger apps with people using the same handle as their GT's threatening to undermap a tribe then it happens. I sent in clips of a tribe threatening to ddos our server, having them count down to the dos and it happening and nothing was ever done. If there are no consequences for peoples actions then you can expect to lose more and more players due to unpunished cheating.

Whatever caused your server to dc is more than likely completely an unrelated item. Your claim that it isn't the turrets is one anecdote of one incident on one server, as opposed to Wildcard's testing over several servers.

I feel this clearly shows where their priorities lie regarding the base game vs DLC, I even foresaw something like this happening back in august and asked about it during one of their Q and As before the next DLC was even announced.

Those themed foods, etc. aren't the Halloween holiday though, just promotions centered around said holiday. It's nothing like Christmas where you have the entirety of advent leading up to it, or easter where you have lent that paves the way. It's the equivalent of doing your house spooky : a celebration of, but not the event at all.

This is wrong, though. The reason they've been stalling it is because you're using a 3rd party server manager/host, rather than your own serverpark. They used to be hesitant when it comes to 3rd party mods/addons for games as well, but luckily the deal they struck with Bethesda worked out and paved the way for future games and 3rd party mods/addons.

 

EA and DICE have had rental servers on Xbox and PS since Battlefield 3 came out on Xbox 360 and PS3, so it is definitely not a new terrain for Microsoft or Xbox One. Just a different method of renting servers for Xbox One owners. EA/DICE have an in-game rental option.

 

The big question is though, why not do as Bethesda with their mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition for Xbox One/PS4, so console owners can get to enjoy the awesome mods we see in the videos and such on the CC?

 

Host the mods on your own server, specifically for consoles, and provide an in-game method of downloading and installing them through the main menu.

 

Go play Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special edition, and you'll know what i'm talking about. Please, pass it on to the team. 

 

As for S+, it really should be integrated into the core game. No wonder you barely see any Xbox One or PS4 submissions for the crunch. Building with the default toolset is horrible and limited without S+ (IMHO!).

As flattering as this is, just exactly how big and tenured in the game industry do you think Wildcard is that you're comparing them to super established billion dollar video game companies like EA and Bethesda?

This means that you will have to purchase aberration to access the map. However, if memory serves right, I believe that you get a discount for purchasing the season pass since you already own scorched earth.

Scorched Earth and Aberration are two of the paid expansions for the game. When ARK came out on playstation there were two versions available for purchase : the $30 version that only contained ARK (and the center as it's a free DLC), and the $50 that came with ARK and Scorched Earth (plus the center).

ARK servers appear to be dead already, if you charge 20e for new expansion i surely won't be buying it, that will just be pulling my donkey altogether..I understand you need a flow of money to keep the servers going but why don't you implement a monthly membership for server upkeep? i talked to a few people and they said they would pay a subscription. 

The performance on the servers has dropped drastically since the official launch or else its a problem with servers being chockablocked with structures...i don't know.

If you purchase the season pass it would cost you less than if you were to buy aberration and the further expansion when it comes out separately.

There's no certain list yet about what "vanilla" creatures will be present on aberration though if megalosaur would be included, their activity (or lack thereof) is more tied to the day/night cycle than it is being in a cave. If I had to hazard a guess, it might be possible if aberration has longer nights than days.

We've had a mod say it but they're players who volunteered to police the forums and the company doesn't exactly keep them in the loop most of the time. So they're relatively clean.
