I honestly think the true BIG QUESTION is how will the new train tracks work? Will they just be allowed to be spammed all over the map and sucking up space like the worst type of pillar spam in history? will other players be able to use these tracks? are tracks already built on the map? 2. How will the floating OPasaur work. Will people be able to land these things on top of your base and use them like giant floating troll mountains? how will they effect building if someone decides to park on in the spot you are currently building on? I think they are avoiding these details and telling us about the mechanics of how it will be introduced because they just plan to drop a Over powered pay to win creature on the map that's hugely problematic to the player population especially official PVE and just deal with the massive blowback after the fact as that's how they usually go about things.

Community Crunch 381: Sunsets on ASE, New Horizons on ASA and FAQ

THE COMPANY also is a stable entity which in good faith has operated there product for 8 years and kept a consistent working system for that time. Private servers come and go and die all the time on top of Admins using there personal judgment and emotions to run servers. This isn't something you deal with as much when your dealing with a company. And by the way the company didn't just randomly shut off the servers one day they gave months and months of notice and as of right now I have that save file so it can still be loaded and played. And yes MANY unofficial public servers I would say the majority have mods to make the game easier and have boosted rates. Some make the game harder like the Hunted but far more just make the game less of a challenge. People can play how they want but all this is just a fact. BTW your own argument is Moot because its licensed product and all you are doing is buying the right to use it not to own it (read the TOS) so if the company wants to take unofficial server rentals away they can do this as well and the only thing you can do is run it on a private dedicated. -

Please please tell me how anything will change from EA with these new magical animals on the Island. Base building will be 100% the same. Doed, Anky, Argy no one will have a rhynia early on. Moving large dinos will be a quetz. Nothing has been added to the island that changes the meta of building or logistic of the early game other than some gatherers like the Theri and it isn't even specifically better at one building feature than anything else. The island we know we are getting as of now will be 100% the same as how it was in EA other than a handful of creatures are are mostly combat oriented. -

Like the Dozens of contacts i've made on the official Cluster over the years? The people who we have kept in contact with over the years so we can all come together at ASA launch and make sure we all gather on the same official so we can manage a server and not have to deal with problematic randoms. I still have access to all my Dinos by the way can download that server file any time I want. If I was on some private cluster and it went down im SOL. So no I don't see any benefit to playing on unofficial other than if I wanted to play a easier form of the game or a custom mod with a added feature or creature. -

I'm sure someone like yourself is only happy about these changes because you have no plan to play the real game. Some modded Multiple X taming server with a Dino storage system. So you care about the quality of official servers very little. Offical is the only real game here. Modded servers other than Mods like Hunted that increase difficulty are made for players who cannot handle the base game. That's why I say you have no voice for people on official here. Spoiled players who lean on mods to play. When you breed from wild to top stat on official you have achieved something. When you do it on some pampered private cluster means nothing. My hard work will be here years down the road. Your at the mercy of some private owner, his friends, girl friend and his bad mood. and nothing you tame, breed mean anything because its just saved on some random cluster where you have no access to anything outside of a handful of servers. -

With the serious Mistake of removing pods we will have multiple people out taming Dodos and Dilos on day one to suck up as much tame cap as possible. If Wildcard wants to make this huge mistake again and force there majority official PVE players (working adults) to deal with no pods and Tame caps we have every intention of locking our server down as much as possible to the detriment to others. When people start complaining that the servers are running like crap a few weeks in it will be for this reason mostly. Wild card is only leaving pods out to slow progression and for no other reason really. They prefer to cater to the groups of players that can stay online and stuff meat in Dinos for 14-16 hours a day or huge tribes and not to your average working adult. -
As a player since EA and someone who focuses on breeding with the lack of Cryopods and being a full time employee with real world responsibilities your really going to kill the game for people like myself. Cryopods were the largest quality of life change for people who actually had some sort of life outside of Ark and once again you will be putting players who can average 14-16 hours a day ahead only because they can log in and put meat in a inventory not because they have any form of skill over another player or have any sort of level of achievement they have progressed to.

Community Crunch 379: ASA Cross-Platform Mod Preview

Well pretty much confirmed. ASA end of October. You are going to hurt yourself here Wildcard. Cut off your own product and have a month gap in there and a lot people will get bored and move on when already have a extremely frustrated community. -
The problem you will be causing with a feature like this on PVE is you will be forcing PVE bases into a combat mode. You will have wilds draining turrets constantly when you have players online. If your base is attacked when you just have just a few players online in a large tribe it would be very easy to troll a base by dragging multiple wilds to the base and having it drain the ammo while it was under the attack during or before the event. This would just turn into a troll filled form of PVEPVP like the days of dropping wild dinos into peoples bases before that was fixed.

Tame caps on servers do not help that much. If you played on a official Gen 2 and fjordur servers during its high population times with the near tame cap out on the maps the servers where prone to constant massive lag spikes and crashing mostly due to the large amount of tames out on the map. We will also be moving into a phase we have not seen in years of mass breeding of dozens of tame types from wild to top stat far more than the island map has handled at once in years. Tame caps help but with the increase strain from the engine it will put more strain on the server system not less regardless of what people believe. Players connection and using slower hardware which many will be using bare minimum or what is just required to get the game to run in a playable state because they will be moving from ASE to ASA which will have I imagine a far higher base system requirement. You also have to remember Official servers are going to explode with people as console and PC will be sharing servers now.

For a Early Access release on a new engine that will im sure be full of bugs and performance issues along with a massive influx of players who will be sharing servers from both platforms having no cryo pods would be a massive mistake. The effect on server performance alone is devastating especially in the new phase of the game where people will have hundreds of tames out breeding. I have been here since the beginning and nothing improved performance in the game more than the addition of cryo pods. Regardless of how much you approve of the old school way of doing things pre cryopod days its makes a huge impact on the game performance wise that UE5 will not be able to change that much because you are still adding more and more assets to render to the map with there own independent data that will constantly need to be rendered for each player that comes into view as well as constantly interact with the environment. No matter how bad players want this they will be crying in a few weeks after a thousand plus tames are standing outside on a server lagging maps to death complaining about server performance constantly. To touch on your other points my group decided to start a ground up scorch earth using only in map assets only with fresh characters about a month ago on official to prep us for a fresh start of the game. Of course we do have cryo pods because you can purchase those as part of the in map engrams but every other convenience you list on your post other than the chainsaw we do not have available and the game really isn't to difficult as we are already about to take on manticore Gamma. However most of us have years of experience under our belts.
