I agree with you completely but I'm not sure that there is a way to stop people from land claiming. Short of giving each tribe a max amount of space they can occupy. It would be a cool idea but no matter what they do the players will figure out a way to take advantage of whatever they can. If people want to be jerks there's not much anyone can do about it. Luckily my PVE server is pretty cool about helping people out.
