  1. I'm very split on how I feel about this creature. It's a great submission and fits extinction really well, though I'm not the largest fan of the primarily-pvp use of this creature, yet it does have some pretty good pve use. I'd still like to see this win as we do need more sauropods lol
  2. Hell, if I knew the creature vote was happening already, I would've put in my submission for Livyatan! Though I'll still post my spin on the creature here, and you could even use the art if you wish (it's mine, there's no copyright) Livyatan Melvillei Spawn regions Any region where Megalodon Spawns (though has a lower chance to spawn) Spawns in pods of two to four Higher chance to spawn in colder waters Color regions Primary(top) Various Dark Blues (Dark Blue, Navy Blue), Black Secondary(bottom) Light blue-grey Incredibly rare color variant : Completely White (Moby sausage reference) *All Livyatan Alphas are completely white as well Abilities & Temperament Short-Tempered (passive until attacked) *Aggressive if Calves are present Squid Nemesis : 100% more damage towards Cephalopods (Tusos & Ammonites) Thick Blubber : Immune to electric shocks + 20% damage resistance Air Share : Provides Rider with oxygen (while draining the Livyatan's oxygen) Temperature Tank : Resistant to high and low temperatures (makes rider resistant too) Attacks M1 : Bite M2 : Tail Slap (Slows down and knocks back creatures) (cannot be spammed) Crouch : Echolocate (Highlights Creatures in an area for 15s with 25s cooldown) X : Bubble Net (Creates a bubble column that stuns and forces creatures in the water upward) Downsides Is a sea creature with an oxygen stat (though a high oxygen stat) Low Damage (not abyssmal, just not good) Taming Method relies on either finding a Tuso or sacrificing one Taming Method Prove Your Might! This Method involves you fighting the Livyatan of your choice until it's at 40% health (or lower), then you must ride the Livyatan and go on a hunting trip with it This hunting trip involves you using the Livyatan's abilities to hunt down various sea creatures (you could sacrifice tames to do this) This hunting trip will always end in hunting down a Tusoteuthis Drops Prime meat, meat, Livyatan Blubber (replacement for Basilo Blubber), oil Saddle Basic Saddle (Hide, Metal, Fiber, cementing paste) Advanced Saddle (Polymer, Metal, Cementing Paste, Electronics) *Advanced Saddle has increased armor + buffs echolocation ability by increasing range and decreasing cooldown (to 20s)
  3. This is definitely a unique creature, but I don't think it should be in Ab because it would mostly replace the Roll Rat in traversal. This is also sitting on that thin line between real and fantasy, not sure I would consider it a real creature myself
  4. We already got the Gigantoraptor for Ragnarok, don't think we need another raptor for Ab.
  5. Trigonotarbid Palaeocharinus tryantus A familiar face from SE's submissions General Information Back again for a second time, this time on a more fitting map, the massive Trigonotarbid is here! Now coming in with bioluminescent highlights around its legs and spikes, most Trigos can be found in the Blue Zone, but higher level ones can be found on the surface. Though its size is a bit larger than that of a typical spider, it won't be easy to spot as it blends in with the environment of the Blue Zone. Since these creatures are so large and don't hunt, they can be typically found asleep. When they are asleep though, their bioluminescence goes away. I highly recommend not looking for one when you, or your mount, are low health, as wild Trigos might see you as their next meal attack you. Wild Trigos on the surface will attack you regardless if you're low health or not, they can't be choosy with their next meal up there. Taming These tanky beasts are completely immune to tranqs and tranq creatures, so other methods must be used. Like other arachnids, Trigos are scavenging creatures, meaning they wander around and eat corpses they find. You can use corpses to tame them, but it won't be a quick tame as Trigos have massive appetites! Trigos do find certain deadly creatures tastier than others though. Tamed When you finally tame one, a Trigo is a very useful creature for resource collection in the caves of Aberration. They spoiled meat and regular meat, but regular meat will spoil faster in their inventory. Their relatively cheap saddle acts as a mortar and pestle and platform saddle thanks to the Trigo's large and quite flat abdomen. Trigos are also able to collect various resources; they can collect wood, stone, crystal, all gems, fungal wood (didn't draw), and meat. Trigos offer a large weight reduction on the resources mentioned. Passive Abilities Trigonotarbids, as mentioned before, have weight reductions on the resources they can harvest, but also have other useful abilities. Their bulky form and color can often disguise them as rocks which hides them from being noticed by creatures that would attack them. The rider can turn off their bioluminescence pushes this ability further, but makes Trigos more vulnerable. While eating spoiled meat, Trigonotarbids will occasionally produce Organic Polymer. Trigos can also be occasionally trimmed for molted shell, a substitute for Chitin. Trigonotarbids' shell is so durable that most, nearly all, projectiles can't even scratch it! (arrows, bullets, dilo/arthro venom, etc...) Attacks/Abilities (shortened for easier reading) Leg swipe (camera angle depends which side) Heavy Bite (does not inflict venom as Trigonotarbids don't produce venom) Rear on hind legs (intimidation move) Can rotate in place Can Jump onto surfaces Can crawl walls and ceilings Jump leads into ground slam if lands on the ground Crouches down defensively (takes further reduced damage and predators give up attacking) TL;DR Big Spider Tanky as hell Tame via Corpses Platform & Mortar n Pestle Saddle Angy on Surface Produces Organic Polymer & Chitin Immune to Projectiles (on shell) Glowy Not Glowy when sleeping Harvesting chad Found in Blue Zone and Surface Sneaky for their size Weight reduction of resources it harvests Faster meat spoil time Will eat you/ your tame if you're on low health (Art done by me) Feel free to suggest details in the comment section https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigonotarbida https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palaeocharinus
  6. You should probably remove this submission since it has nothing to do with the creature vote
  7. Hey, I apologize for not seeing this post before I made mine for Cryodrakon, seems we both found the idea within identical time spans, you were just faster to finish it. If you don't mind, could you check the one I made out and perhaps mix features from it to this one? Again I apologize for not checking if someone had made a Cryodrakon submission before I posted mine
  8. Don't submissions have to be a real animal?
  9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryodrakon Cryodrakon borealis "Cold Dragon" Wild Cryodrakon borealis, also known as the "Cold Dragon" is a great relief from all the horrors I've seen throughout the ARKs! Unlike it's actual draconic counterparts, Cryodrakon borealis doesn't have an appetite for, well, everything that moves! Cryodrakon instead prey on small and medium-sized herbivores. Cryodrakon is often found in colder climates, feasting upon nearby Megaloceros. Unless provoked, Cryodrakon will usually leave humans alone, sometimes even actively avoiding humans. Many characteristics from Quetzalcoatlus conchapicem, Cyrodrakon's relative, are seen in Cryodrakon borealis, such as flying at high altitudes and rarely, if ever, landing. However, unlike the Quetzal, Cryodrakon will fiercely protect itself by diving at its attacker. As well as diving, Cryodrakon will also aggressively impale its attacker with it's massive beak, these pecks make wounds that quickly cause any creature to bleed. In a nutshell, these sky-giants are not to be provoked! Appearance Cryodrakon borealis often has a light-colored coat of feathers; typically white, light grey, very light blue, or other cold light colors. Their beaks, claws, and feet are often the opposite of this, being a dark cold color; such as dark blue and navy blue, sometimes even black. Their wings are a midway between these two colors, such as grey-blue, blue, and sky blue. Cryodrakon are identical in size and shape to the Quetzal. However, Cryodrakon are faster and have a different crest in contrast to their relative. Domesticated To tame one of these mighty fliers, one most knock them out of the sky with a bola, though normal bolas aren't big enough to hold them down. After a Cryodrakon is brought down, one must feed them small and medium-sized herbivores along with some Giant Bee Honey periodically. After these steps are repeated until taming, you now own a great companion for the sky! Attacks As mentioned before, Cryodrakon borealis can perform a diving attack and an impaling peck, but the Cryodrakon can now perform more attacks with a pilot! Similar to the diving attack, the Cryodrakon can dive into its targets, inflicting massive damage but partially damaging itself in the process. Cryodrakon can also knock back enemies with its mighty wings, this can be used in the air too, but less effectively. During takeoff, it can perform this attack at the same time to make for a quick and safe escape! Cryodrakon, similar to the Quetzal, can pick up and carry creatures much larger than other fliers. Divebombs become much more lethal to your enemies if Cryodrakon is carrying a heavy creature! This can also be used to suplex wild creatures, Cryodrakon can pick up a wild creature and dive them into the ground, inflicting a massive stun. Passive Abilities Cryodrakons make for great exploration partners, being able to either keep their riders warm with their cold-resistant feathers, or keep their riders cool with their heat-dissipating crest. This ability makes Cryodrakons great nannies as well due to also keeping nearby fertilized eggs the right temperature better than even multiple air conditioners! Their massive beak also dissuades many predators and other creatures from attacking them and you. Saddle Cryodrakon are best suited to having a basic saddle, again similar to the Quetzal, but they can have a small platform saddle for long hauls. Disadvantages Cryodrakon are often lone wolves and greatly dislike being in the company of another same-sexed Cryodrakon. They dislike this so much to the point they put less effort into their attacks and fly slower. Cryodrakon even refuse to mate if same-sexed Cryodrakon are nearby! If equipped with a platform saddle, Cryodrakon burn through stamina faster and can't do any of their diving attacks! Art and dossier by yours truly ;>
  10. I do want this to come back, ngl feel like I have no other options to vote for lmao, though I will point out that Rhino beetles aren't typically found in the desert... Oh well as if ARK will care lmao.
