  1. I would like Wildcard to seriously address why 1000 USD+ GPUs barely can runs this game in native 1440p in aroudn 20 FPS on epic settings like RTX 3090Ti. We do deserve to see the plans how the team is going to address this problem. We haven't spent 8 years to find out nothing changed on that front at the studio and the game will remain horribly optimised till the PC hardware would develop enough to handle ASA optimisation problems with brute force of computing power (This happened with ARK Survival Evolved basically) I am not getting this game till I am sure I don't need PC from NASA to play in max settings, 1080p on epic setting 60FPS+. (I have here RTX 3080Ti, 64GB RAM and Ryzen 5900 (12 cores))
  2. Steam recently removed the local currency for various countries of the south like Argentina because the inflation there is so high, the game studios cannot price the game accordingly. The price were switched to USD. Maybe that's the case why you see higher price.
  3. You know, it's pretty emberassing to learn about the first showcase of gameplay of ASA from the third party side; in this case XBOX. At least we learned something.
  4. NASA approved It'd be nice to see real requirements for ASA at last.
  5. I still wonder if I won't need RTX 4090 to run this on epic settings with stable 60 fps or over 100 fps 1080p. Ark Survival Evolved performance in EA was horrendous at launch. Time will tell. Also, hold onto your butts. If Wildcard had to release the game this month, I'd assume they had to crunch to get this released. I expect bugs, lots of them. Hats off to the artist and 3D modellers here tho, that's a really pretty raptor model.
  6. I'm suprised... not... The fact Wildcard doesn't even peep about ARK 2 makes me think it's in deep development hell so the studio figured out remaster is only think achievable short term.
  7. 3 months before the release of the remaster. What did we get to show and prove us it would be worth our money rebuying the same game? A 3D render of the game's asset. Nice, it totally does not encourage me to give Wildcard any benefit of a doubt. Is there anyone at Wildcard who realised it is the TIME to show as much as possible of the remaster after the severe community backlash? Or everyone is out of touch there still? Also, when will you put any offcial announcement on steam page ARK Survival Evolved would lose all official multiplayer functionality in August so customers could make an educated purchase?
  8. I still can't believe they'll be able to manage development of TWO games at the same time. The one that we have been seeing the concept art only after 2 years of development and the remaster that they're working on + extra DLC in 2024 for it. They did not even bother to explain how they're planning to achieve this. No way they can deliver it in acceptable quality because that's just Indie studio that got overwhelmed by game's popularity. I fully expect the deja vu of ARK: Surival Evolved lunch in Early Access in 2015.
  9. So Studio Wildcard decided to take wait out the backlash strategy. What an anti-consumer studio and cowards. Good luck trying to rebuild a good will in community for ARK 2. I wonder how quickly you'd kill ASA. PS: Also, when will you move your butt and update steam storage page of ARK:SE that game will stop having official support in 4 months? That's tiny but so important detail people need to know.
  10. I wonder when Wildcard will realize it maaaay be a good idea to slap warnings ARK:SE will not have official multiplayer support on every store page they sell the game. At this moment they are deliberately mislead future customers who do not read the games' journals they're getting a full product.
  11. If you think about it for a bit. The first idea. 39,99 USD for ASA + ARK 2 + all DLCs 40 USD = 90 USD The second idea. 59,99 USD for ASA + all DLCs. But no word about the pricing of ARK2. Now ask yourself how much ARK2 will cost if it was released in EA? 30 USD... If so, this would cost... you guessed it also 90 USD. Or if they went for full price. 60 USD so it'd cost 120 USD. It's the same. damn. thing. I do not like being fooled. Wildcard is taking us for granted once again.
  12. I feel ya. I joined on Early Access game when the game was released in 2015, I've seen everything Wildcard was capable to do or not. Varying from ingoring the community's needs who begged for fixes, poor communication, paid EA DLC, feature creep and ignoring to work on core game mechanics (do you wonder why server tick rates got so low as 4Hz at some point?). Constant delays. I did want this game to be good, because there was no good Dino game on a market back then and now. However, when I realised this game is vast as an ocean and deep as a puddle I gave up. It felt great to get out from "Sunken Cost Fallacy" that this game uses soooo much to keep people playing. So I don't trust them either.
  13. I highly doubt they will be able to maintain 2 games at the same time with high standards. I question if they'd even be able to maintain a remastered game while there is ARK2 in active development that got delayed by 2 years already. This is worrying.
  14. I bet they'd finally address the player base disapproval to this idea by saying how much they value our feedback and after consideration they're a "generous gods" and they might drop requirement to rebuy DLCs again. They'd also say how much to listen to our feedback. Typical meaningless PR stunt from the game studios or the publishers. But let's be real people, this is also know as boiling a frog in a pot slowly (but I guess Wildcard decided to pour boiling water into the "pot" instead). Presenting terrible idea at first, then present a bit less terrible so it'd be easier to swallow. That tactic is as old as the world itself probably.
  15. Aye. The main reason I was turned-off by the game. The devs didn't work on core gameplay mechanics of ARK during Early Access so fundations were solid as much as throwing extra dinosaur in it. Now, the game pays the price.
  16. Working so much on band-aid fixes/workarounds and avoiding updating the game engine to newest version UE4 in Early Access sent its regards at last. I haven't logged it to this website for a few years after Wildcard disappointed me severely in Early Access, I guess some things never change. What annoys me the most about this: Wildcard: "We have to delay ARK 2 to Q4 2024, we don't have anything to show you yet." Also Wildcard: "ARK remsatered will be released in just 4 months! Trust us, "we are engineers", Oh! Also rebuy all your DLCs you already paid for! :3 But it's more! You preorder game that does not exist yet!" ARK 2 does not have playable build after 2 years of development, only concept art that don't mean anything in a long run (they can be changed or thrown away). So why should we trust that remaster wouldn't be as buggy mess as ATLAS was. They think they can take us for granted again and again... My friends who played ARK more than me are beyond disgusted by this announcement and swore they would not play ARK 2 nor the remaster.
  17. This. It was really discourging to see the dev team had to be pushed by community hard to address the problems player had with the game. The constructive and frequent communication is the key to healthy Early Access; I hope the communication won't disappear after few months into that period like in ARK 1 did for a while.
  18. I read the list of the planned features and the flashbacks of ARK 1 Early Access came to my mind. I wonder if the managment of the studio and technical leaders learned their lessons from ARK EA and will focus on core gameplay loops, techincal aspect of the game and stability, and avoid the feature creep. I have little faith even 50% of listed features will be implemented in the game, unfortunately. If you cut advanced dino AI from ARK 2 (the lack of was the biggest disadvantage of the first game) I'd be really upset because I want to interact with dinosaurs, not cars with dino skins. That realisation killed my excitment to play ARK 1. Also, I beg you, focus on optimisation of the game for real so there were GPUs on the planet that could run a game in stable 60FPS epic settings during Early Access. If you gave me the game with all features listed and it'd work well, I'd be impressed and I may give the studio a shot again. Good luck!
  19. The last thing this game needs is another feature creep. The initial Early Access feature creep ruined the technical quality of the game to the point ARK will never be fixed without rewritting entire game's code. If you plan to add new features, for sake of the game don't add such redundant things like a toilet or a camera or another useless creature. Granted, it's good to see WC has bagun regular communication after so long. We will see how long it will last.
  20. Too bad your communication is not even half as good as communication between your sister company and Atlas playerbase at this moment. It feels like you were asked to help Grapeshot fixing their mess instead off working on ARK. Fine, you announced beta branch of S+ and kibble rework and after that what? Will you start bug fixing this game finally? Will you update this game to the newest version of UE4 that fixes tons of issues? We won't get answears to these question at all probably.
  21. Unless you showed clear and consistent Roadmap (that almost every Early Access and AAA game does nowadays) how you are going to tackle ancient bugs and atrocious quality of the game and Extinction, I would not believe in anything you say in the post Chris. Because we do know you let your player base down the countless amount of times in the past. For once, don't fall into the temptation of feature creep.
  22. Atlas won't affect ARK development? Please, don't mislead your customers. The atrocious quality of Exctinction and almost no new meaningful content for past a few months tell it has already affected ARK. You even admit some people from WC works for Atlas, so how does it not affect ARK? Atlas will have the same problems as ARK. Poor optimisation, feature creep, terrible communication between developers and playerbase and flawed core gameplay design. I guarantee Atles will be bloated with redundant features without polishing and then WC 2.0 will move on to add another shiny toy like they had been doing through ARK life cycle... Apprently, they want to found game development with cosmetic MTX... I wonder how exploititive that will be. Bethesda style? 18$ for a armour skin? In PCGamer article you claimed you don't want to make the same mistake which was ignoring your community. There is no faith in you that you can improve to be blunt. Btw. This time make sure your boss didn't break another deal with previous employer(s) ...
  23. If the only purpouse of certain dinosaur exsitance in your tribe is sitting and laying eggs forver, it is already useless dinosaur. The game needs this kibble overhaul to reduce stress on servers and clients caused by breeding farms with hundreds of dinosaurs. Plus, with this change Wildcard can finally see clearly what dinosaurs serve no purpouse in the game and improve it eventually.
  24. I couldn't have agreed more with you. I'm looking forward to watching your video discussing this dev post. I feel sorry for QA testing team. They can do their best but in the end higher in ranks decide what is getting a fix and when the patch/update is released. The studio may deliberately release a patch with a game-breaking bug and counting on getting away with it.
  25. Dear Chris. I have one major problem in your way to justify the atrociously bad quality of the game and Extinction. This is 60$ fully released game and players should not be your beta or Q&A testers nor should you expect players to become ones. The way you described the problem tells me you want to excuse broken game by few numbers of QA testers. This is unacceptable frankly. Your customers do not care you don't have enough manpower to be blunt. They care about the quality of the product they paid for. What you had been doing during entire Early Acces was bloating the game up with half-cooked or in some cases redundant content/mechanics. Instead of taking that time to flesh out core gameplay mechanics, do QoL updates, you were adding more and more stuff without polishing it before moving to a new shiny toy. Your game fell into the trap of feature creep that is coming back to you with full force. It seems your team is literally afraid of touching old code, because the whole game may fall apart. The sad part is people had been giving you tons of feedback, but you chose to ignore it deliberately or due to simple incompetence. Early Access has ended over a year ago. You earned a lot of money and you can afford more paid QA testers, but you would have to want that to begin with. You would have to have a better quality standard for game development, to begin with. The only reason why we got more regular bug fixes updates and QoL ones was due to BadArt4BadARK. The action was simply too large to ignore. It seems WC hasn't learned anything from EA, to be honest, and ARK would continue to be considered as a game with a great potential wasted by game-breaking bugs and incompetent studio. It's a shame how this game has ended up. I used to love this game, but bugs, lack of any optimization and developers refusing to communicate with the player base during EA was enough. PS: Unfortunate, we players cannot get a simple "sorry" with highlighted steps to improve the bad quality of the game.
