Explorer notes are to be rebalanced for ARK Survival Ascended. There's been a lot of rumours that they are being removed, but we take a look at what is actually going on with them and what we could expect. Along with news of the release still on track, mobile issues, and an ARK look-alike game on Steam.

There will be mods on consoles on ARK Survival Ascended.

The only mod maps they've done a vote for are Ragnarok and The Center.

They haven't said what it is yet. Based on the pattern they have been going it is likely to be a community map, possibly valguero.

But the next vote is going to be a while out yet as they want to wait and see what the dino meta looks like in ASA.

That's the sad thing though, being so experienced with the game means people will advance quick rather than what it was before. I kinda wish I could wipe my memory and learn it all again.

You cannot access the xbox console-only servers from PC.  Only the Xbox/PC servers have this.   If you are talking about cloud play from PC, then yes you can access the Xbox console only servers, but that is because you are playing the xbox version from xbox hardware streamed to your PC. (you have nothing installed on your system and cheating capabilities is exactly equal to playing on Xbox and Playstation)

Pretty sure there won't be Xbox only servers.

There will be Xbox/PS only servers

There will also be Xbox/PS/PC servers, which later on will become Xbox/PS/PC/Steam servers.

It will be $39.99 at launch, rising to $44.99 sometime later.

As per the Community Crunches it will be today (5th) October.

Where and how the files will be available will be exactly the same as before.

I've missed all the announcements about them retiring legacy PVE servers until this past weekend.  All the articles I read on Google indicated they would fire up the newer platform (Survival Ascendant) with the better engine as soon as the other servers were wiped on Oct 1.  But when I go into my Steam shop, I don't see any such game.  Does any one know if their plans changed?

Ark Survival Ascended is coming at the end of October.

Their plans were never to get it out as soon as ASE officials closed.

Yes, Switch is unaffected by any of this.

I've seen many creatures in past votes that are animals living today but supersized and or have odd abilities these animals wouldn't have. I know its a game, I just want to understand how flexible that rule can be for when I'm designing my creature. Is there a loophole where I could post a supersized version of an animal that went extinct a year ago or even last week?   

If the creature is "extinct" at any point in history, that is last week to millions of years ago then it is fine.

If the creature is still alive today then generally it needs to be classed as Prehistoric, as in it has existed long before records began.

That's my understanding of it. The supersized thing is just because people want rideable creatures.

An ARK Survival Ascended FAQ will be coming soon to answer many of your questions, including Cryopods. A marketing campaign has kicked off with NOIZ to help promote the game in the lead up to release at the end of October. The Extinction community creature vote winner has been announced, and the ExtraLife donations have already begun.

This has not been confirmed. The Devs have stayed very quiet on whether Cryopods will come at launch or with Extinction.
