  1. Hey Survivors! Just wanted to pick your brains, what kind of creatures would you like to see make its home on the ARK? We usually get a lot of messages across all platforms asking us to add XYZ - just thought I'd make a quick mega-thread to see what you guys are thinking :). Feel free to include names, images, cool-facts -- what you think they could do on the ARK, anything really! Looking forward to seeing what you have to share.
  2. Update 3 [10th of January] Thank you to everyone who has submitted reports. Microsoft now has an internal repro of the problem and is working on getting us more information. We still do not know what is causing it, but Microsoft is on it! We'll update you as we learn more. ~ Jesse Update 2 [8th of January] For anyone who is having the close-on-launch issue, can you please do the following and send the results to [email protected]d.com so we can work with Microsoft on the issue: Attempt to launch the Microsoft Store version of ARK: Survival Evolved. Observe that the game closes automatically at the splash screen. Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd.exe) Type eventvwr Navigate to Windows Logs > System Right-click on any Errors you see from the time you launched the game, and choose Save Selected Events... Type cd %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp Type licensingdiag Type wscollect Gather all of the files generated in the directory in step 7 by the commends in steps 8 and 9, and put them in a .RAR file (or renamed .ZIP file). Thanks, this will hopefully help us solve this problem more quickly! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update one: After further investigation, we've found that there is a communication issue with Microsoft's DCOM Server. Other games have had a similar issue, for instance, Forza 7: https://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postst110840_Unable-to-start-DCOM-Server-error-starting-Forza-7.aspx We managed to sort out the issue by installing DLC over the base game. If you are experiencing the crash, you can try reinstalling a DLC or the base game. We've reached out to Microsoft for further direction on how we can avoid this situation going forward. Other players have reported success installing smaller products, and then attempting to launch ARK. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey Survivors, I'm looking into an issue where the Windows 10 / Play Anywhere version of the game is immediately closing on startup for PC. For anyone experiencing the issue, could you please try the following: Firstly, please check that you're running the latest version of Windows 10? You can see if your PC has downloaded the most recent updates by clicking here and selecting "Check for updates now": https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4027667/windows-update-windows-10 Afterwards, please ensure that the store is up to date. You can do so by clicking on "..." next to your profile on the top right, select "Downloads and updates", and then "Get updates". Once complete, please check the ARK Store page to see if you meet the minimum specification required to play the game. If everything checks out, please launch the game and see if your issue is solved. If it's still closing out, please press the 'start' key on your windows, search for "dxdiag", run it, press the "Save all information.." button and paste the contents of that onto a www.pastebin.com which you can share with me here. Also, it would be good to also try this: Thanks!
  3. Hey Survivors, You can now download the save files of the Legacy servers which were repurposed on PC from here: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/deprecated-official-pc-server-backups/ This directory should contain each server that we took down, the save file is from the day we announced that we would be repurposing the servers. In the event that more servers are taken down in the future, we will also make those save files available. At this time, we will not be providing the save files for any current server which is online.
  4. Hey guys, As many of you saw from the Sony Blog, we are indeed delaying Survival of the Fittest for console in order to focus our efforts on upcoming Survival Evolved and PC SotF development. We will have a more detailed update on the status of the SotF projects shortly as well, and you can expect to see that later this month. We apologise about the delay, and appreciate & thank you for your patience regarding SotF. :). The upcoming announcement will clear up a lot more. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/04/21/ark-survival-of-the-fittest-coming-to-ps4-on-july-19/ All the best, Wildcard Jat
  5. Hey everyone, In our most recent crunch, we were able to give you a quick glance at the upcoming Dino TLC. We'd love to collect more visual specific feedback about our creatures, whether you think there are any which are in definite need of some TLC, as well as your thoughts on what you've seen so far! Keep in mind, they're still WIP and are subject to change. For those of you who hadn't seen the mention in the crunch, here's a recap: Dino TLC Preview Now that Aberration has been released the question on your mind might be: what's in-store next for ARK? Today we're excited to share with you the first few images of our Dino TLC update that is currently being worked on. These images are still work-in-progress and are therefore subject to change before final release, but here are the updated Rex, Ape, and Dire Wolf models. Studio Wildcard started out as a small studio and as we've progressed through ARKs development, we've grown tremendously! We've been able to bring on very talented animators and character artists to work on the project. You've seen some of their work in our more recent creatures and expansion packs, and now they'll be taking their abilities and showing some love to some of the original creatures we launched with. We're excited to see where these creatures go with the new advanced techniques and can't wait to show you how they turn out! So if you guys have any suggestions or creatures you think we should definitely take a look at, let us know here!

    ARK Digest Q&A!

Hey Survivors, If you've got a question, suggestion or just a general statement you'd like us to check out for the next ARK Digest - this'll be the place to do so! Each Digest, we'll select some from here and discuss or answer what has been asked/said. Keep in mind we won't be doing anything on ETAs, so avoid them if you can . Also guys, I've got a question for you. If you could add any creature to ARK: Survival Evolved, what would it be? when posting your question, feel free to answer mine :)! Anyone being a spoil-sport and ruining the fun by turning this thread into a X is better than Y creature discussion will have their posting rights removed! Thanks, Jat

    Spotlight: Castoroides!

Later today the ARK will be updated to Version 236 and with it comes everyone's favourite organic craftsmen and restraints to capture those pesky raiders! Castoroides Feliconcisor is a large, mammalian herbivore that tends to live near water. Unlike other larger beaver species this one retains the chisel-shaped teeth of modern beavers. As is typical for beavers, they build dams as habitats, but the larger creatures on the island have a tendency to trample them. As a result, finding unsullied dams in the wild is quite rare. The creature naturally gathers wood extremely efficiently, far more than most species on the island. It's not the strongest creature, so it can only carry limited amounts, however with its fantastic chisel-shaped teeth, survivors find it quite the handy mount to use for crafting on the go! Patch 236 continues to adds more roleplaying fun, allowing Survivors to now handcuff each other and effectively enable them to wrangle prisoners! The patch also introduces a number of improved client and server side performance streaming improvements. Hope you guys have a dam good time! 8. Hey Survivors, I've received some reports that some players are unable to see the Server Session List since updating their PlayStation Software to version 5.0. I'm looking to collect some information on this, so if this problem affects you, please let me know: Thanks!

The Last Stand & Extra Life

Hey Survivors! What an intense several weeks it has been! We’ve all been through a rollercoaster of emotions over the Survival of the Fittest: The Last Stand series, with a ton of fights, tears, tames, deaths and an outrageous number of poo-flinging monkeys! For those of you who didn’t have a chance to catch The Last Stand: Final Round - you can watch the full VOD here; or check out your favourite streamers most recent broadcasts, as they may have casted their POV! Without further ado, we’re proud to announce the end of the Last Stand series and winners of the last championship, The Last Stand: Final Round! So let’s congratulate our winners and all of the contestants for putting up a very great competitive showing! And let’s not forget the other rounds that took place! There were many survivors who invested a lot of time and energy into playing these high-stress, high-value, high-pressure games. Here are our victors throughout the tournament! Now don’t sweat, we’ve still got loads planned for Survival of the Fittest! We’re picking up a core-development team to focus solely on this mode, so they can expand it and take it to the level that it needs to be! And we aren’t finished yet for this year, we’re planning something huge and special for around Christmas, unlike any match that has come before - so stay tuned! Extra Life Incredible -- the only word which can justify what happened! Following the SoTF Tournament, we went live with our marathon ExtraLife stream with our excellent hosts, CannibalQueen2107 aka Erin and Forest Rapzack! In 24 hours, the wonderful ARK: Survival Evolved community donated over $23,500 for the keeedzz! Every ARK Survivor should be very proud, congratulations There was a ton of fun with a number of games including; "Tennis Ball Headsock Challenge w/ ARK Cosplayers", "Narcoberry Eating Contest", "Wild West Nerf Gun Duel", "Red Bull Flip Cup", "Chubby Bunny", "T-Rex Arms Cup Stacking", as well a lot of sneak-peeks and teasers for upcoming ARK content! If you didn’t tune into the marathon, but want to catch the vods you can do so here! ExtraLife Part 1 ExtraLife Part 2 And it’s still not too late to offer some support for ExtraLife! If you’d like to donate to the cause, just click here and follow the steps! Thank you everyone for tuning into the stream and for all the support you’ve shown so far! We truly appreciate it and we’re so grateful for having such a caring community! All the best, Wildcard Jat & The ARK Survival Evolved Team #FORTHEKEEEDZZ
  10. We're currently looking into an issue with Character Transfers through the CrossARK System. We're aware when connected to an Official server, after attempting to join a new one with survivor, it takes you back to the original server. We're also aware of an issue on Unofficial PC hosted servers where clusters aren't correctly displaying for one another and are looking into this as well. We suspect these problems have been caused by some of the more recent changes to the server session list, to resolve some crashes and make it a lot more fluid. We'll be rectifying this as soon as we can and hope we're able to get a patch out for this on Monday (as it would have to go through cert, with it being too late to submit right now). A temporary work around which will work for Official Servers is, after conducting the transfer process, when you've loaded back into your original server, instead of hitting 'spawn survivor', press Start and exit to main menu, then join the server you want to play on, and from there you can download your survivor.

    Structure Decay Changes

Survivors, First and foremost, thank you! Since our announcement post yesterday, we've received an incredible amount of feedback and have decided that we are not going to be rolling out the structural changes this week. We've decided to step back and reevaluate our solution, taking into account the feedback you’ve provided. Our intent behind the change remains the same. We want to address structure spamming issues (pillar/foundation spam) which often takes place when players attempt to claim or grief different areas of the map in both PVE and PVP. However, we understand that there is legitimate gameplay uses for these mechanics. We want to make sure that the inevitable change we make recognises and can differentiate between illegitimate and legitimate cases. We want to ensure that our change is a step forward for the game overall. We anticipate that this could be a significant change for the game, which is why we need the extra time to step back and reconsider all possible options. We remain vigilant and dedicated to addressing issues that affect survivors the most and want to be cautious that changes like these benefit players overall without causing more harm than good. Stay tuned, as we’re hoping to have more details on the update in the future, as well as the ability to work with you directly in determining the best solution.
  12. Hello Survivors, Welcome to your latest edition of the Community Crunch and Digest 41! ARK Digest 41 Here is our question and answer session with Lead Designer, Lead Programmer, Co-Creative Director of ARK: Survival Evolved, and Co-Founder of Studio Wildcard: Jeremy "Drake" Stieglitz! Survivor, psychosaurus409 asks, “so the tlc patch... whats that mean for the old Sarcosuchus?” Survivor, ImpureFrost asks, “With the kaprosuchus, will it actually ambush? And Will the Kaprosuchus have a disguise feature like the rock elemental in scorched earth?” Survivor, zForgottenAngel asks, “Any plans on adding more Wyvern types? Like ice, or I saw one person suggest oil and I think that would be kinda neat. Water would be a good addition I think, too.” Survivor, zForgottenAngel asks, “Will mutations maybe introduce (eventually) size differences in some dinos? Like some grow up bigger or be a runt (especially in cases of twins or triplets)? There's all sorts of very large skeletons lying around and I personally would love to ride on a Rex that big.” Survivor, deadmentellno asks, “can you please add a server option to allow you to breed wyverns” Survivor, Trappel22 asks, “For the procedurelly generated arks: how exactly are we going to have influence on them? Are we going to be able to choose what biomes we want on our ark or how many caves? And are those arks going to be completely infinite? Because I would wonder where to place the 3 obelisks then? Would be nice to get some deeper look into that nice system of procedurelly generated arks as they're going to drop next patch” Survivor, Trappel22 asks, “With the rock elemental are we going to see some more "elementals" ? Maybe a water/fire one?” Survivor, Bacon8RColby asks, “Right now it is pretty difficult to see the UI and small details in Splitscreen even with the new resolution update. In addition to that I also feel that because of additional on screen items such as text remove some of the vertical space leaving us with what feels like this very narrow squinty experience. My thought was to give an option to switch between a horizontal and vertical split screen experience. That way if there are people that like how it is can keep it that way but others like myself and my wife can switch it to vertical and enjoy the game better that way. I also feel like this would fit better with your current crafting/inventory UI without having to do a major overhaul on that. I hope you consider this one!” Survivor, Squidge Meister asks, “Any chance of us seeing a few more alpha variations on Scorched Earth, such as an Alpha Mantis that can fly? If you're feelin' sadistic, an Alpha Vulture would be tortuous.” Survivor, DrakeHunter asks, “Again with the recently released Bee Dossier, with it's methods of taming the bee involving the queen herself does this mean it might offer future possibilities for taming another hive-minded insect, the Titanomyra by simply taming the Queen Titanomyra to be able to use her Drones and Soldiers at the players will?” Survivor, Leika asks, “Is there any plans to updated/add to the players animations/emotes and sounds? For a game with such amazing dino animations the players are so comical. Would love it if my chick didn't sound like a dude most of the time lol.” Survivor, BreakMeDown4 asks, “What kind of implementations do you see being made to diseases? Can we expect them to play a much more prevalent role once they're completely mapped out in the final version of the game?” Survivor, Cataclisto asks, “Can you add messages to tribe logs with information about uploads? Example: Bob uploaded tame "Mothy - lvl 100" (lymantria)!” Survivor, Mendoza asks, “Can we get the ability to make .PNT painting files into blueprints for sharing with other players in game?” Survivor, Mendoza asks, “Can we get the Ambient Sounds having it's own volume slider separate from the SFX volume slider? I'd like to be able to more clearly hear the environmental sounds like the ocean or wind ect, but not hear loud swings from my axe or dinos. Could we also get a separate volume slider for dino footsteps so I can better hear large predator dinos like the silent T-Rex?” Survivor, Lowly asks, “When is crafting efficiency going to equate to random chance at crafting higher grade items, I can have 500% crafting efficiency and still only make 100% default items like torches” Survivor, RandChaos asks, “Power on Scorched Earth greatly limits viable build locations, not because of refrigerators but because of high tech gadgets such as the chemistry table needing to be powered to run. Given that it is a desert environment, an official Solar Panel that works only during the day (excluding times when there are storms) would be great. Combined with the Wind Turbines for night power would greatly help the power situation while still keeping the spirit of power being imperfect alive. Any chance of this happening?” Survivor, Lowly asks, “Can you rework the training dummy, so it can hold any armor and any saddle, so we can see in game numbers of how an apprentice rex saddle reduces incoming damage compared to primitive.” Survivor, Doublee313 asks, “Can you please confirm that we are able to use the difficulty mods on The Center? This has been a quite popular question since we love these difficulty mods, but were told it's hard coded for The Center. Can you confirm this is still hard coded or fixed so we can use these mods and set the DiffilcultyOffset to 1.0? This gives us the options to make the server low/medium/hard and it works great on The Island.” Survivor, Ike24 asks, “Will you make fire wyverns the secondary spawn in the dragon arena instead of ptreras and dimorphs?” Survivor, Scriffignano asks, “Can we get an option to have flyers follow us and stay grounded? I'm getting tired of chasing birds all the time.” Survivor, DinoHunterExtreme asks, “Could you please give the new items ID numbers? Having to type the blueprint path of a new item is a huge hassle just to spawn it. (And if you play on Xbox sometimes items blueprints have "illegal characters so that hour long command just disappears ex. bone")” Survivor, TEM187 asks, “A while back you gave us the Dire wolf, and just recently you released Allosaurus. Since the Allo has the pack-boost, when could we plan on seeing the Dire wolf get this boost as well?” Survivor, Poseidon888 asks, “would you consider adding a "general" kibble that wouldn't require eggs at all but would be more effective than prime meat and less effective than their preferred kibble? Perhaps one for carnivores and one for herbivores” ARK: Evolution Event PART TWO! Note for those reading after the Digest edition, this event is now over ;). After the massive feedback we received in support of Evolution Events, we’ve decided to run another! And it’s live NOW! Through the weekend the Official ARK Network will be affected by an Evolution Event! Survivors playing this weekend will get to experience the following bonuses: 2x Harvesting Rate 2x Taming Rate 2x EXP Rate So be sure to log in and enjoy the increased rates whilst you can! We're considering running these fairly frequently, perhaps every weekend or every other weekend - with some variation of course. Please continue giving us your feedback and let us know what other Evolution Events you'd like to see! How about some Harvest Famine? ARK: SotF - September Survivor League Championship! The ARK: Survival of the Fittest September Survivor League Championship matches will take place from 11 am EST to 2 pm EST on Saturday, 8th of October, with a bounty of more than $65,000 in prizes to the winners! The Survivors who have qualified for the event are listed here: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/survivor-league/ The championship games will be shout casted by typeForced! We invite all ARK fans, and the newly curious, to come watch the epic battles at that time on our Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/survivetheark To those competing: may fortune smile upon you, brave Survivors! And may the fittest survivor be victorious! Hope we have an awesome Championship and get to see some great games! ARK: SotF - Last Man Standing! Studio Wildcard is also sponsoring a second tournament this weekend. The tournament will be run using a Survival of the Fittest mod created by community member Katti. The event will be streamed on Twitch on Sunday, October 9th 2016 at 11am EST by Davnell: https://www.twitch.tv/davnell Different than the Survivor League, Last Man Standing uses tribes of 5 and will consist of three 1.5 hour matches where points are awarded for tribe survival placement (10 points for 1st, descending by 1 point for each successive position, 0 points for 11th place and below). The highest points accumulated points at the end of the three matches wins! You can subscribe to the mod here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=774369391 Prize Pool: 1st place: 2500 USD (5x500 USD) 2nd Place: 1250 USD (5x250 USD) 3rd Place: 750 USD (5x150 USD) 4th Place: 500 USD Steam gift cards (5x100 USD cards) 5th Place: Scorched Earth keys (x5) It's going to be a fun-filled weekend, so be sure to tune in Saturday and Sunday to see these tournaments play out. ARK: SotF - Naughty or Nice! The special SotF Gamemode known as Naughty or Nice made its official return as a new Total Conversion last Saturday! We put the best survivors to the test in an epic 100 versus 100 battle over the course of 2 and a half hours. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the game, you can do so here and check out the awesome finale: https://www.twitch.tv/survivetheark/v/91126873 As for how the game ended… SPOILER WARNING Congratulations to Team Naughty, what a turnaround it was! The winning team will also be awarded 100$ Steam Gift Cards for their efforts [and they’re on the way, just waiting for Valve’s delivery ;)]. 13. The highest points accumulated points at the end of the three matches wins! dossier Introducing the Troodon!

Dino Dossier A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone’s favorite intelligent pack hunter, the Troodon! Common Name: Troodon Species: Troodon Magnanimus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Nocturnally Aggressive Wild: Quite possibly the most intelligent non-human creature on the island, Troodon Magnanimus is an incredibly fast learner. It understands meaningful experiences much more quickly than other creatures (including humans), and its social nature means it also teaches its packmates, making them more clever too. If Troodon’s cleverness didn’t make it formidable, than its tactics and biology do. It specifically pack-hunts at night when we are most vulnerable, and sees humans as its primary prey. This audacity is made especially dangerous due to its serrated fangs’ poison, which drains stamina from any creature, but outright paralyses humans. Thankfully, Troodon is fairly small. Were it larger, it might well have become the dominant creature of its ecosystem. Domesticated: I thought Troodon simply could not be tamed, until I finally saw a lone survivor with one. She told me that she let “Troody” hunt a few of her tribe’s smaller creatures for sport, and it eventually started following her everywhere. It seems that while Troodon is too intelligent to fall for the rote conditioning of ‘tranq-and-feed’, it can instead gradually gain loyalty from a social approach that provides it the opportunity to hunt. Ever since, I have wondered at the benefits that a pack of ultra-smart, bred-for-battle Troodon may bring to a tribe brave enough to earn the favor of these clever carnivores.
  15. We're excited to announce today that ARK: Survival Evolved will be stomping its way onto the Nintendo Switch in the Fall of 2018! ARK: Survival Evolved on Switch includes the complete contents and features of the original game; from the massive and mysterious ARK island to the more than 100 prehistoric- and fantasy-inspired creatures such as the T-Rex, Giganotosaurus, Rock Drake and Reaper. Hundreds of hours of exploring, crafting, survival and combat await players as they go it alone, or group up with thousands of other Survivors to explore the island and solve the mysteries of the ARK. The Nintendo Switch version of ARK will be developed by our partner studio Abstraction Games (handlers of the PS4 port), and we can't wait for it! The handheld mode provides a fantastic new capability for survivors who want to immerse themselves in the vast worlds of ARK fully! With this new version, Switch players can go directly from hunting and tame while sitting on the couch, to forming online tribes and searching out new conquests when on the bus, waiting in line, or wherever they happen to be. During the Epic Games’ “State of Unreal” keynote at GDC 2018, we were able to show off an early demo of the game on Switch. Introducing the Thylacoleo!

Common Name: Thylacoleo Species: Thylacoleo Furtimorsus Time: Late Pliocene - Late Pleistocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild Thylacoleo Furtimorsus is a large, powerful marsupial that can often be found hunting around trees. Its long claws and semi-opposable digits make it an apt climber, a quality that Thylacoleo uses to its advantage while hunting. It clambers up trees and waits to ambush passing prey by pouncing upon them. When something that large jumps onto a target, it becomes stunned and doesn’t stand much chance. Thylacoleo’s most notable fighting quality is its powerful jaws. Once it bites its prey, it locks its jaw in an iron-strength grip that can hold most smaller creatures in place. Thylacoleo then goes on to savage its prey with its sharp claws. If it needs to escape a fight, Thylacoleo uses its muscular hind legs to jump back to safety among the trees. Domesticated Thylacoleo is a moderately strong mount, and its ability to climb trees and jump long distances makes it useful for traversal such that developing tribes often tame it. Small raiding parties particularly favor Thylacoleo, as it is well suited to ambushes and unfair fights. View full article

    Arthropleura Buff on console?

We're aiming to get a patch to console later this month, we'll have a date closer to the time period. Should include the latest PC fixes + changes. No plans for a Giga on Scorched though.
  20. If you head to your Steam Community, Select Workshop, and then on the right-hand side you should see an option for Subscribed Items. Select that, and then you'll need to manually unsubscribe from all the mods, otherwise, they'll continue to patch when they receive an update.
  21. Survivors! The wait is finally over, ARK has officially launched on the Windows 10 platform, and from 8 AM PST will be available to purchase on the Microsoft Store! It includes the base game along with 'Primitive+', 'The Center', and 'Ragnarok', and additionally currently available are the two story-telling expansion packs 'Scorched Earth' and 'Aberration'! As the game was already available for Xbox One and Xbox One X enhanced, it is now an Xbox Play Anywhere title, so this will allow Survivors who've purchased the game digitally on Xbox to download an play on both platforms at no additional cost. You can pick up the Windows 10 Version of the game here: ARK: Survival Evolved ARK: Scorched Earth ARK: Aberration Everything is tied to your Microsoft/Live account! This means that you can pick up your adventure wherever you left off, switching between your Xbox One and PC while dynamically taking your saved progress, Gamerscore, DLC, and achievements with you. With the release of Windows 10, comes a new exciting feature: CrossPlay (cross-platform online multiplayer)! Whether it's playing on Xbox from the comfort of your sofa with a controller in hand, or at your Windows 10 Gaming Desktop, survivors with this Play Anywhere title can take advantage of CrossPlay and live on the ARK with their tribe across both platforms. You'll be able to tame, harvest, and dominate with each other! For those wanting to jump into the CrossPlay experience immediately, you can do so by browsing our Official Server network for matches titles 'CrossPlay'. We've launched 24 servers, a mixture of PvE and PvP, clustered by region available to play right now! (All Official Servers will become CrossPlay enabled in the future once BattlEye, or an equivalent Microsoft anti-cheat system, functions on the Windows 10 Store.) Also, you'll currently find a large quantity of player-hosted Dedicated & Non-Dedicated CrossPlay sessions to join! CrossPlay is enabled by default for anyone hosting a server via their consoles. You can disable it, by just unchecking the 'Enable CrossPlay' option when hosting a session! It'll appear in a dialogue box, after beginning to host a server. For those using a Nitrado PC server, CrossPlay is disabled by default. You can enable the setting, by logging onto your administration panel, select the 'General' tab under 'Settings', checking the 'CrossPlay' checkbox, save the changes and restart your server! The launch of the Windows 10 version also brings the single player & non-dedicated split-screen to PC! Over time we'll be working on incorporating the same feature onto the Steam version of the game. You will be able to host a 70 player dedicated server using the Windows 10 version of the game! At present, hosting a Windows 10 Player Dedicated can be graphically intensive on the computers, as you're pretty much running the game. In the near future, we are going to see if there's a way we can make it similar to hosting a graphicless dedicated PC server. You will not be able to edit the "game.ini" or "gameusersettings.ini" server files, as those are locked behind the Windows 10 platform, though, you still have the Host Settings user interface available to you, similarly to the Xbox game. Keep in mind you would need an additional account with a copy of the game in order to host a dedicated server on Windows 10 while simultaneously playing on Xbox. Edit: Microsoft has informed of us of a potential way to host and player on a server without needing an additional copy, we've yet to confirm as we're looking into cross-platform player dedicated invites with them at the moment, but here's what they recommend: On your Windows 10 PC… 1. Launch and sign into the Microsoft Store using your Xbox Live Gold account 2. Download and install ARK 3. Launch the Xbox App and sign-in (or create as needed) an Xbox Live Silver account 4. Launch ARK 5. When the Xbox Account picker comes up select the Silver account 6. In ARK, set up your dedicated server On your Xbox One… 1. Login to your Gold account 2. Download and install ARK 3. Launch ARK using Gold account as identity 4. Use Server Browser to find and connect to the dedicated instance you set up on your PC Mods will not be available through the Windows 10 version of the game, due to the current lack of a User Generated Content storage and cloud delivery pipeline equivalent to Steam Workshop. If this changes in the future in terms of Windows & Xbox features, we'll be at the ready to support it. If you want to experience a modded ARK right now, the best way to do so would be through the Steam version of the game. The Non-Dedicated tether range has been increased by 50% for the Windows 10 version of the game. However, as we enter the new year we'll be removing the limit altogether in single player split-screen, and a slider will be made available for Windows non-dedicated sessions (which in-turn will be enjoyed by any Xbox Clients playing on a Win 10 Non-Dedicated session). In addition to the upcoming tether changes, we'll be working on bringing Truesky entirely to the Windows 10 version of the game. Welcome to the big ARK Tribe, Windows 10 Survivors! We're very excited to get ARK out on this new platform at last with cross-platform online multiplayer, and cannot wait for you to join us on this wild & crazy dinosaur sci-fi journey! All the best, The ARK: Survival Evolved Team
  23. Hey guys, would be good to know some extra info so that we can investigate these crashes further: 1. What Xbox are you using? 2. Does the crash occur when you're launching the game, or when you're launching a map? 3. Are you experiencing this on Official Servers 4. Are you using the Primitive+ Game mode 5. If you're experiencing this in Single Player, could you try an Official Server 6. When did you notice the crash 7. Is your console using a different language?
