  1. Annoying stuff about Ragnarok map

I thought this was going to be an actual B&M thread, not a necessity to explain why there's a barrier in place to block of parts of the map that...you know....haven't been fully developed and could be changed at any time without warning. Seemed obvious.
  2. sequel ARK: Survival Evolved 2 ?

There's nothing wrong with buying from this company. They've developed a huge community following of people who still very much enjoy the game (myself included). I would just say going forward, don't rush into buying a DLC if you're not wanting to play it immediately, because all of the content may very well be included in a new player-made map that gets picked up and added to the official maps list.
  3. sequel ARK: Survival Evolved 2 ?

Sorry, was referring to the 2nd DLC. Corrected. I'll probably try it out eventually, but I'm not in a rush because I like the more low-tier and low tech style of Ark. I'm hoping Primitive + has made a lot of progress over the last year and want to revisit that soon as well. There's also the matter of Scorched Earth being released as DLC, then all of the content being included in the new Ragnarok map anyway. I don't want to do that again if I don't have to.
  4. In the context of a survivor game, being able to run quickly would be a pretty common (and even essential) survival skill, within reason. Does anyone have a video demonstrating the current issue being discussed? I've not encountered it myself. There are also bear traps that would quickly halt someone in their tracks if utilized properly.
  5. sequel ARK: Survival Evolved 2 ?

I'm personally not even interested in the 2nd DLC; it's too much of a campy sci-fi theme for me. Some of the features in the trailer are cool, but that's really about it. What I would really like to see is an actual wrap up to some semblance of a story instead of the current "Here's the end game content that instead of really answering anything produces about 10x more questions".
  6. Revisiting Nomadic Life

I usually do this when I start on a new map/server just to get a feel for the environment and a layout of the land. With Ragnarok, having the ability to craft a tent is pretty useful as well. It's a completely different experience with a very different set of goals and priorities than picking a location and building there exclusively.
  7. What's your guilty pleasures?

Dressing my offline tribemates in silly hairstyles and outfits and seeing how long it takes them to notice when they wake up.
  8. sequel ARK: Survival Evolved 2 ?

Maybe a sequel is something that -may- be plausible a long ways down the road, but before that happens I would hope the -current- version of the game would receive a lot more optimization and polishing to make it feel like a fully functioning and fully released game. While a lot of great stuff has come into fruition by the efforts of this project and the workshop community, I think it would be have a lot more rewarding to stick with the original concept (and map) and finish that out with an actual story instead of sidetracking into picking up new player created maps and having to devote thousands of hours and resources into converting and fixing them, not to mention things like Primitive +. What started as a really brilliant development essentially got caught up in trying to give the community everything they wanted, including multi-platform support (to the extend of even Mac and LInux platforms that had to be developed) and got pulled in too many different directions. So if nothing else, I hope a sequel and even the thought of one can be tabled until the current version is finished and is a well oiled machine.
  9. I think this is a good, and necessary change. While I understand that it can sometimes be cool to "claim" something and skip the whole risk and reward process of taming it yourself, it clears up the issue with lots of old, unused dinos lying around causing lag. It also brings back the element of if you want something, you have to go out and tame it (or breed and hatch it) yourself.
  10. Looks good! Only concern I have is the tame rate, since I don't have a ton of free time to play these days so like a more casual experience, but I'll hop on tonight and try it out!
  11. Rain causing temp drop

This is definitely a bug, and still ongoing. Does matter where on the map you are, soon as it starts raining temperatures drops significantly and you will die unless you are in a structure (and usually with a heat source). For me this happens even if I'm wearing full fur gear. I had to raise my torpidity up to 50 just to be able to not quickly die once it starts raining. Hope this gets fixed sometime soon because it's very inconvenient to be out exploring or harvesting or taming and have to scramble to erect a shelter once it starts raining.
  12. Ha! I actually think this would make a really good movie with the right plot. I'd definitely give it a watch, even if it was just a short web-series.
  13. Guess it's going to be a pretty short movie. Also, please, incorporate some practicality and common sense (i.e. trigger control). if you're lopping around on a raptor with your finger on the trigger, chance are you're just going to end up firing all of your rounds into the air. Otherwise this looks amazing and really well done.
  14. You guys have a Discord or anything set up? Server mods need to be updated.
  15. They should consider setting aside some Official servers that don't allow such open transfer, or at the very least put some restrictions on transfers such as either one-way or cooldowns.
